Winston Churchill Personality
Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. (Xplore). This
quote by Winston Churchill exemplifies his hardworking and stubborn personality which
helped him become a figurehead of British history. Churchill s time as a young boy inspired him
to pursue a career in politics, which in turn transformed him into a masterful public speaker and
the legendary personality that he is remembered and celebrated for today. Winston s early years
played a major role in shaping him into the legendary leader he was later in his life. Winston
Leonard Churchill was born on Nov, 30, 1874, in Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire, England. His
father was Conservative politician, Lord Randolph Henry Spencer Churchill and his mother was
Jennie Jerome, daughter of a New York stockbroker, financier and newspaper proprietor. They
were a glamorous high society couple but, distant parents. They were more interested in being part
of the English society than caring for her son. His parents were rarely around to care for and love
him; this lead to him resenting them at times. He felt they treated him as an afterthought
(International Churchill Society 1 2). Winston had one younger brother, named Jack Churchill,
who took up his parents attention even more. Since their parents were always away from home,
the Churchill boys were cared for by a nanny named Mrs.Everest. Winston was extremely fond of
Everest, calling her names such as Woomany from a young age. He

Cultural Differences Of Online Learning
CULTURAL DIFFERENCES IN ONLINE LEARNING

Hoffman Estates, 60169 ssheikh6@mail.depaul.edu ABSTRACT
The purpose of the study is to investigate on cultural differences in online learning experience and
how courses should be designed by instructors to accommodate for students with cultural barrier for
successful transition. Geert Hofstede, a Dutch cultural anthropologist, analyzed cultures along five
dimensions of power, self, gender, predictability, and time. His theory was applied on interviews
conducted on 5 Pakistani female students and 5 American female students to understand the
cultural shock that has impacted their progress in university. Results were analyzed and compared
to Hofstede s cultural ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hofstede s cultural dimension claims individuals from eastern societies are high on uncertainty
avoidance and are worried about their future. It is always a challenge but they tend to be adaptable.
Teachers are using techniques such as videoconferences, screen sharing, online conferences, web
based guides, or images to help their students enhance skills in whatever subject that interest them.
Giving practical advice on putting together effective courses and programs help individuals
comprehend material better than a messy outline that is hard to follow [2]. It is essential to provide
a structural course work to the students who will be using online courses to implement the virtual
learning in real life through activities, homework, exam, and assessments. However, modern
communication has allowed design and development but concerns regarding cultural dimensions
are still problematic. The current research recommends that international virtual learners felt
alienated from American learners in an interactive online environment. Understanding the key
concepts of Hofseted s cultural dimensions theory fill out the gap and provides a cross cultural
communication framework to effectively create an equal environment for both eastern and western
societies. See Figure 1

The Levels Of Carbon Dioxide
In the modern industrial era, the levels of Carbon Dioxide produced are much more significant than
in years before. Due to Carbon Dioxides involvement in ocean acidification, this is a major issue.
Since the beginning of the industrial revolution, the pH of the ocean surface has fallen by 0.1 units.
Although this may not seem significant, due to the logarithmic properties of the pHscale, this
change signifies about a 30% increase in ocean acidity. If this issue isn t addressed, there will be
dire consequences for both marine organisms, as well as humans. To understand ocean acidification,
some chemistry needs to be defined and understood.

The molecules gain a shell of water molecules and are transformed from CO2 (g) to CO2 (aq).
This is known as the dissolution process. This can be shown in the equilibrium reaction.
Equilibrium is a state in a reaction in which both the reactants and the products are present in
concentrations that are both constant, and will not change over time. This state results when the
forward reaction is proceeding at the same rate as the reverse reaction. An example of this can
be seen in the dissolution of Sodium Chloride in water. If the equilibrium equation NaCl(s) NaCl
(aq) is used, we can see that the compound in the solid form is re crystalizing at the same rate as
the aqueous form is dissolving. There are 3 main disturbances that can alter equilibrium, a change
in concentration of reactants or products, a change in temperature or a change in pressure.
According to Le Chatelier s principle, if any of these three is disturbed, the system compensates
by shifting the equilibrium to either the left or the right. This can be seen in the equilibrium
reactions associated with sea water. In the dissolution process of CO2 discussed before, not all of
the CO2 molecules remain dissolved. A small amount react with the water to form carbonic acid
(H2CO3), which can be seen in the equation CO2 (aq) + H2O H2CO3 (aq). As carbonic acid is a
weak acid, it can dissociate to bicarbonate or carbonate. These two equations respectfully are

Safety Case Study
A business may have to sometimes alienate some customers for the betterment of their workers
and business in general. There is controversy on the fact that delivery services like Domino s and
little Caesars do not deliver in locations that are deemed dangerous and have a color system
designated for certain neighborhoods. The American Civil Liberties Union criticizes this practice
as discriminatory as some of these neighborhoods are predominantly minority neighborhoods and
believe it is a racial issue. I believe that the issue is safety as some neighborhoods are more
dangerous and create a risk towards the delivery workers. As a customer of these neighborhoods it
can be frustrating not being able to get pizza, but if a business had to... Show more content on

On the other hand there is also the possibility of losing money by not delivering in certain
locations, and there is the moral risk of putting workers life at risk for continuing business. In a
situation such as this it will be hard to please both sides, as both a customers and workers
concern needs to be taken into account. As a business manager the main moral concern should
be the workers that it has employed and their safety even if sales are lost. For the long run of the
company you needs to find a balance, workers to feel safe, and customers to feel accommodated
by the business. As a business manager concern of the customer needs to be taken higher into
account. Having customers feel that they are being prejudiced against will be bad for public
perception. The company can also re asses the location to their franchise in the future to prevent the
current situation. When it comes to marketing programs the best recommend action for the
company to address is not to address the situation. Identifying the issue via marketing programs
would bring more scrutiny to the company. Plenty of other organizations are trouble by the same
situation and at no time it addressed the issue to the public view. Evaluation of the situation is
needed to identify if it is a regional issue only. If pressure from the government agencies begins to
mount the next option is to address the issue via public service

Saudi Arabia Essays
In the heart of the Middle East is a country known by many Westerners for its oil production and,
often, extremist beliefs of groups within the country. The country is Saudi Arabia, and though it is
thought of by many as a rather backward country, Saudi Arabia has a rich history and culture, and it
is a country that revolves around Islam and the worship of Allahas the one true God.
For about fifteen hundred years, Saudi Arabia s history has centered on one major theme: Islam.
Muhammad, the founder of Islam, was born around 570 A.D. in the city of Mecca. Early in the 7th
century A.D., according to Islamic belief, Muhammad, while meditating in a cave on Mount Hira,
was visited by the angel Gabriel. Gabriel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Then, in the mid 1700s, Saudi ruler Muhammad ibn Saud, from the Saud dynasty, forged an
alliance with a religious reformer named Muhammad ibn Abd al Wahhab. Ibn Abd al Wahhab
was discontent with the growing disregard for Islamic teachings in Arabia. He taught that the
people should return to strict observance and practice of Islamic laws. Adherents to this belief,
called Wahhabis, were backed by the armies of the Saud dynasty, and together, these forces began
a movement. Areas that converted to Wahhabi beliefs were taken over by the Saud family, thus
increasing the size of the Saudi State. However, by 1891, most Saudi control of Arabia was taken
by tribal chiefs and by the Ottoman Empire. Then, in 1902, a young Saudi leader named Abd al
Aziz ibn Saud began to reclaim land that his ancestors had lost. He also sought diligently to revive
the Wahhabi movement, which heavily emphasized the Islamic beliefs and strict adherence to
them. In 1932, Ibn Saud unified the regions he conquered into one state an Islamic state that he
dubbed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Throughout the next fifty years, under the reign of Ibn Saud and his descendents, Saudi Arabia
grew wealthier as a nation, while striving to keep its Islamic values at the same time. In 1982,
King Fahd came to the throne. He sought to maintain Saudi Arabia traditional Islamic values, while
he also strived to create more globally

Fraternities And Sororities In Greek Life
In every university there is always a Greek life that has opportunities to connect, make new
friends, and also participate in activities. This all sound fine and dandy at first but not all Greek
life is how it said to be. Yes it is a fun and you make friendships but, all that come with a price and
that is at the start of initiation. The definition of initiation is the action of admitting someone into a
secret, obscure society or group. Fraternities and sororitiesare a group of society and they abuse
boys and girls wanting to be a part of something more, when they get treated like crap just because
it is tradition . Those tradition were made by people who wanted to humiliate them to a point that

The Effects Of Violence On The Media
The effect of violence in the media is a big controversy; some say it affects are society and others
say that there is not any proof of this. There are many theories on how violence in media does,
and how it does not, affect our society. Many people claim watching television or even playing
video games will affect children s or young adults minds. Researches claim that they found no
evidence of change in aggressiveness in children or young adults while playing video games.
Researchers allowed children that had been diagnosed with disruptive behavior disorder and to
play violent video games and found no change in pattern when or even after these children
played. This study measured activity in the frontal cortex of the brain by using two groups of
five girls and fourteen boys while they made a task requiring focus. The frontal cortex has been
related to problems having to do with self control and attention. One of the groups was
considered aggressive and also diagnosed with disruptive behavior disorder and the second group
had no history of any behavioral problems. Half of the children in each group had been opened to
high levels of media violence; this included them watching and playing violent video games and
television. The results of the experiment showed that all of the aggressive children had reduced
activity in the frontal cortex of their brains. The non aggressive group of children that were
exposed to high levels of media violence showed a lower amount of brain

My Grandpam My Grandma Is A Hero In My Life
In my life so far there has been one person that always supported my decisions; been warm while
the world was cold, and loving till I thought there was no love left. My grandma has been a hero
in disguise for as long as I can remember. Her creativity Inspires me, and her ability to teach
others makes me feel proud to call her my grandma. Since I was little, my grandma would
babysit my sister and I almost every weekend, making us food, playing board games, and
watching movies. Spending so much time with my grandma gave her plenty of opportunities to
influence us and help us when we needed it the most. We never thought of how lucky we were
to have this figure in our lives, and how much she impacted our futures. Creativity has been a big
part of my family. Coming from a family of musicians, craft fair workers, authors, and painters
brings art to a whole new level. My grandma and I always had an art form at all times; whether it
was drawing or listening to music, it was always present. From a young age I was taught some of
my grandma s old hobbies like, basketweaving and sewing. I still remember making my first pillow
and not being able to reach the pedal to turn the sewing machineon. I remember my grandma
saying with a laugh, I ll get it. She held the pedal as finished sewing my heart covered
masterpiece. Even though at the moment I did not think it was a big deal, but no I see it helped

Descriptive Essay About Hotel
Today i went to the coolest hotel ever! I couldn t believe what i was seeing, it was amazing!
Everything was made out of glass, but that s not all. Every room had some sort of waterfall,
river, creek, or body of water in it. When I got off the plane all I wanted to do was go inside. The
outside was gorgeous, it was all glass and surrounding the hotelwas the pacific ocean .When you
walk in you see that the floor is made of glass, the walls are made of glass, the ceiling is made of
glass, even the tables and chairs are made of glass. Right beside the front desk is a big waterfall
with beautiful blue water pouring out of it, at the end of the waterfall there is a place where you
can sit down. The concierge leads you up to your room and you have to walk up these beautiful
glass stairs. In my room there was a soft blue rug covering the whole floor but still being able to
see the floor was glass underneath. There was a king size bedand on the opposite wall there was a
fireplace with a tv on the mantle. I turned and noticed there were two other doors in my room, so
I walked into the first door and everything was black.. I turned on the light and there was a huge
waterfall with a swimming pool at the end of it. It looked like the one downstairs but it was a little
bit smaller than that one. I decided i would go into the other room and it was the bathroom. The
floor also had a blue rug but everything in the bathroom was glass and i mean everything. The

Using Online Computer Aided System
Due to new and advanced technologies and innovative manufacturing developments, many
companies in 2016 are using online computer aided system or software to produce custom output
for many online products that they sell. It is a place where customers can customize what they
want through their e commerce websites before they buy. Joseph Pine said that it is the process
of developing, producing, and delivering affordable goods and services with enough variety so
everyone can find exactly what they want. A place that customers can individualize and
personalize a merchandise before purchase. Moreover, the customization can range from
different colors and flavors to sizes and shapes, or logos to characters and numbers. For example,
a customer can add different RAM sizes to his or her MacBook. They can also add a logo or
name to a t shirt or personalize their shoes with different colors and designs. There are many
variations and flexibilities when it comes to online mass customization. Customers can design their
own shoes and have them delivered within a few weeks through the Nikewebsite. The Nike iD
system is easy to use. The process begins with choosing the unique style or icon. Then the
customers can choose the colors and patterns of the upper sole, underlay, swoosh, flywire, laces,
midsole, and text/graphics. The options are endless. It is a true inspiration and amazing experience
for anyone who wants individualization and personalization. The biggest downsides to this

that provide networked information technology resources including connectivity with the global

Ironing Their Clothes By Alvarez Summary
Analysis on Ironing Their Clothes
In the Alvarez, the author depicts to us a child that has much love for their family.
Although there is little time the child has to spend with the family, it has been made very clear that
the child s house keeping responsibilities show the true love for her family. The daughter has no
way of expressing love to her family so the only way she can convey her emotion is through
ironing her family s clothing. Alvarez conveys life to the apparel of her family and additionally to
the task itself of tending to those garments. She portrays the ragged pieces of clothing of her dad
to be a representation of man himself. Worn out by all the work, his garments show the same ideals.
The errands her mom does, the washing,

Arab Authors Perspective On The Peer Review Quality
Arab authors perspective on the peer review quality: Emerald s scholarly library information
science journals as a case study Peer review has been providing a valuable service to the
scientific community since it was first employed in 1665 by the Royal Society s Philosophical
Transactions of the Royal Society, and its value is very difficult to measure . (British Ecological
Society, 2013, p. 1). Introduction Scholarly communication, especially in the digital environment,
has witnessed a significant growth in the scientific productivity in all academic disciplines.
According to the House of Commons Science and Technology Committee (2011), approximately
three million manuscripts are submitted to journals every year. As of 3 September 2014, the
multidisciplinary coverage of the Web of Science encompasses over 50,000 scholarly books,
12,000 journals and 160,000 conference proceeding (Thomson Reuter, 2015). In fact, scholarly
communication is seen as a crucial part of research, and researchers are often judged by their
academic productivity. Any academic promotion is not only taking into its consideration the
number of publications, but also how prestigious the journals they were published in. Such a case
is based on the practice and process of the peer review implemented and the communication system
followed between the author and the editorial staff. The most important characteristic of any
academic or scholarly article is that it has to pass an academic quality

Elementary Secondary Education Act Of 1965 And Its...
Education is valued as one of the most important aspects of socio economic group mobilization and
social elevation in the United States. Operating under a human capital ideology education in the
U.S. is a means to provide education to individuals in an effort for continued economic
advancement for our nation. However, as times change educationfails to completely change with it.
Secondary educationis no longer seen as a means to earning financial stability. Primary education
encompasses complexity of issues that still remain to be addressed wholly. With the creation of the
U.S. Constitution states are given power to construct education. Educational reform continues to be
complex with ever changing politicians and platforms failing to have the time to create long lasting
systematic changes but also not fully grasp educational challenges collectively. Educational reform
such as Elementary Secondary Education Act of 1965 and its versions No Child Left Behind Act
and Every Child Succeeds Act 2015 has changed the way students learn and teachers teach. The
need for continued educational innovations is of the utmost importance. We as a society continue to
strive for creating organizational policies and pedagogies that not only enhance research but a allow
for a greater society understanding and applicability to enhance education for millions.
Innovation is a term I ve frequently heard in the realm of business and technology implying new

Aneurysms Essay
To begin with, the word aneurysm derives from the Latin word aneurysma. In Latin aneurysma
means dilation and dilation means that act of expanding. From this, it is easier to figure out what
an aneurysm really is. The definition of the English word aneurysm means, blood filled dilation of
a blood vessel. There are several different types of aneurysm, but this report will only cover a
cerebral one. Intracranial aneurysms are classified as dissecting, saccular, and fusiform. There are
many causes of intracranial aneurysms. Some of the most common causes would include
fibromuscular dysphasia, atherosclerosis, and arteriovenous malformation. Some that are less

Saccular aneurysms are the most common and are easily identified because of the berrylike sacs
on the veins or arteries. They are caused by weakness in the vessel wall layers. The sac itself
grows from the intima and adventitia of an vessel. When this occurs abnormal hemodynamic
pressure on the cerebral arteries causes rupture. Saccular aneurysm can be caused by infections,
tumors, or drugs. Aneurysms occur to people in their early forties to their late fifties. Most
aneurysms occur to people that are around age sixty. Intracranial aneurysms are rare to children
and only account for 2% of the total aneurysms. The younger the patient with an intracranial
aneurysm the larger the sac. Location is a big part in classifying the type of aneurysm. About
86.5% of all intracranial aneurysms occurs in the carotid region. The pieces all fall to place
when using the Hunt and Hess scale, which measures the current status of the expansion. There is
a grade 0 to grade 5 scale. Zero is a non ruptured aneurysm and 5 is basically the point were there
is not much doctors can do to make the patient live. Vasospasm is the term used when a
constriction of a vein or artery occurs. It is also the cause of death when an aneurysm occurs. More
than 50% of all surviving patients that get an intracranial aneurysm have neurological defects.
Treatment is wonderful when treating intracranial aneurysm. The most common approach is
surgery, because blood

mean they are very strong in the inside and outside, they are very caring and very brave. ENFJ
people refer to an open world Open world means they like enjoying the outside better than the
inside. For example I don t like tight spaces or elevators, elevators are such tight spaces and you

For example I recently did a spanish project that was worth one hundred points, I loved that

are unafraid to stand when something needs to be corrected or added. I somewhat agree to that
because sometimes I add good things that I feel like is best for whatever we are doing. This also
goes to critically thinking. ENFJ people love to think outside the box. For example if we have a
problem or a dilemma, we love to think outside the box, how we can make it better even if itЕ›
the maximum best. They also see a big picture. Now there can be different meanings to that, when

Characteristics Of The Malaria
Malaria is starting to become one of the worlds most common infectious diseases and problem to

someone does come in contact with it. It will also describe the characteristics of the four major
types of Plasmodiumthat affects humans along with the the complete classification, pathogenesis,
how it is transmitted from one host to another, and who and what country is affected most from
this infectious disease. Within the Malarian disease, there are many species of the Plasmodium

Plasmodium falciparum, Plasmodium vivax, Plasmodium ovale, and Plasmodium malariae
(Wiser, 2011). There is various differences between these four, but they do all have one thing in

Leadership Challenge, by Kouzes and Posner Essay
In the Leadership Challenge, 4th edition, it is Kouzes Posner (2007) intention to present a road
map for individuals to follow on their leadership journey. The authors stress that leadership is not
a gene and it s not an inheritance. Leadership they assert is an identifiable set of skills and
abilities that are available to all of us (p. 23). They make clear that the great person theory of
leadershipis plain wrong. Leaders are our everyday heroes who do extraordinary things on a regular
basis (p. 23).
Empirically based, the writers begin the book by offering five practices of exemplary leadership:
Model the Way, Inspire a Shared Vision, Challenge the Process, Enable Others to Act and
Encourage the Heart (p. 14). In their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They have to enlist others in a common vision (p. 17). The challenge, Kouzes Posner says is to
turn the idea into an inspired vision (p.106). The leader needs to imagine the possibilities and
find a common purpose. The authors refer to James MacGregory Burns transformational
leadership theory asserting that people commit to causes, not plans (p. 122). In order to have a
transforming effect, the leader must raise the level of human conduct and ethical aspiration of
both the leader and follower. Just like Kotter (1990) outlines the methods to change an
organizational culture is by telling stories, using symbols, the designing of physical space, using
jargon, rituals, etc., Kouzes Posner suggest the same thing when they explain the power in using
symbolic language to communicate a shared identify and give life to a vision (p. 143). When
challenging the process, leaders know that in order to bring change they have to experiment and
take risk (p. 19). The authors indicate that proactive people tend to work harder ...[by being]
persistent in achieving their goals (p. 169) and treat every job as an adventure (p. 184).
Leadership is not a solo act, it s a team effort the authors explain (p. 223). To enable others to act
the leader needs to create a climate of trust by facilitating relationships. To start the process one
must, be the first to let go of control, Kouzes and Posner explain and it requires self confidence (p.
227). Just like Bass and Avolio (1980)

Essay On Identity In Othello
A change in an individual s perspective and identity can enrich an individual s sense of belonging.
Conversely, an individual s sense of belonging may be destroyed when a change in their perspective
and identity occurs. An identifiable example is Othello, wherein it is perceivable that his notion of
identity and strong senseof selfis shattered. His calm and collective persona has become one that is
unstable and insecure which, in turn, affects his sense of belonging, particularly with Desdemona,
and position as a Venetian general. A demonstration of this concept is seen in Act 4 Scene 1 (Line
61 62) where Iago exclaims There s many a beat then in a populous city, And many a civil monster.
Within the quote, Iago identifies animalistic characteristics through the use of animal imagery to

He attempts to convince Othello that animalistic behaviour is of the norm in Venice, using the
metaphorical aspect that relates to Othello s collected persona that has metamorphosed into a
mad and unstable man, depicting Othello s downfall and changed perspective of self. His sense
of belonging has spiralled as he no longer trusts the woman he loved the most. A quote that
further supports this idea is found in Act 4 Scene 1 (Line 60) in which Iago states: A hornГЁd
man s a monster and a beast . Iago challenges Othello s sense of belonging through the animalistic
imagery and metaphor. Othello believes that it is his own fault he is not able to satisfy his wife s
sexual desires and is dejected, referring to himself as being the cuckold of Venetian society. The
word horned alludes to figurative horns that a husband grew to showcase his wife s infidelity, which
brought about much chagrin and humiliation to

A Research Study On Cooperative Behavior
1.Introduction
Cooperative behaviour has been and may still be a mystery to psychologists and evolutionary
theorists. Cooperation has an altruistic nature that benefits other people, not closely related, while
it is detrimental to the person who is performing it (Trivers, 1971). Therefore, according to natural
selection cooperation should have been disappeared long time ago, as it is not beneficial for short
term survival of the individual. However, altruistic cooperation is not always disadvantageous if
the sacrifice is awarded in the future, it can be an evolutionary stable strategy. This type of altruism
is known as reciprocal altruism, which can be as beneficial for helper as recipient. Reciprocal
altruism can be viewed as symbiosis. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

RC F Advertisement Analysis Essay
What is perfection? Perfection is a process and plays a vital role in this advertisement. The 2016
Lexus RC F stands for perfection, which the car manufacturer highlights in this ad. This
advertisement was from a February 2016 issue of Motor Trend on a website called Issuu. In this
ad, there are three photos of the car from the top, wheel close up, and rear views. In the pursuit
to go beyond perfection, the RC F is engineered to showcase a highly capable vehicle to a higher
performance standard. In an everyday world, Lexus is conveying that power and the desire to
go fast are strengths. Lexus wants consumers to know that this message is not only possible but
also admirable. Through several visual elements, Lexus makes consumers yearn for a car that is
worth owning. Overall, the advertisers were successful in presenting this concept. To begin

features and attitude of the car. One part of the ad is on top of the page in a big, Helvetica white

Outline and Evaluate Two or More Biological Explanations...
There are two main biological theories which explain the assumed causes of schizophrenia: Genetic
and Dopamine Hypothesis.
Research by Mikaywa et al has found that there must be a genetic explanation of schizophrenia due
to the fact that concordance rates for environmental causes are not 100%. Also Mikaywa noticed
that schizophrenia runs in the family, meaning there must be something other than environmental
causes, causing the disorder. What Mikaywa studied was DNA from human families who were
affected by schizophrenia and found that those with the disorder are more likely to have the
defective gene: PPP3CC. The PPP3CC gene regulates the immune system, and therefore is an
important gene in terms of genetic vulnerabilities which may be ... Show more content on

In support of this Kendler et al found that first degree relatives of those with schizophrenia are at
18 times more risk than the general population. Research has also found that schizophrenia
symptoms may have a genetic component. This was suggested by Malaspina, who found that
patients who have schizophrenia in their family histories are more likely to develop negative
symptoms than those families who are schizophrenia free. In evaluation of family studies it may
be concluded that they are not very reliable as they are retrospective. The studies for family
studies where taken place when diagnosis was under a more liberal use of the term schizophrenia.
Twin studies have also shown a genetic pre disposition. Gottesman found 48% risk of
schizophrenia in MZ twins compared to only 17% in DZ twins. Similar to the Gottesman study two
other studies showed higher concordance rates for MZ twins and lower in DZ twins however each
had slightly different results. McGuffin et al argues this is because of the use of different
diagnostic criteria, which may affect the validity of the results. On the other hand the researchers
used blind techniques to obtain the results eliminating any researcher bias. Both family and twin
studies face the problem of ignoring environmental impacts. In family studies, genetically similar
members of the same family tend to spend more time together, therefore

Introduction Of Fluency Instruction On Fluency
Introduction to Fluency Instruction Fluency is another key component of reading, because
fluency has often been referred to as the bridge between phonics (decoding) and comprehension.
According to Hudson, Lane and Pullen (2005) fluency is one of the defining characteristics of
good readers, and lack of fluency is a common characteristic of poor readers (Hudson, Lane
Pullen, 2005, p. 702). Fluency is made up three different components accuracy, rate and prosody.
Rate refers to the speed or pace at which a student reads. Students should be readingat just right
pace not too fast or too slow. This helps students free processing space for students to determine the
meaning of a text. If student spends the whole time readingstruggling to decode the text, their brain
does not have enough processing space for comprehension. If students read too fast or too slow they
are concentrating more on the words than the actual meaning of the text. Accuracy is reading the
passage with little to no errors in text or meaning, this one reason why students must be able to
decode words accurately. Lastly, prosody refers to the student s ability to read with expression.
Students must pay attention to punctuation in a text and taking pauses, and influcation when
appropriate (Hudson, Lane Pullen, 2005 Rasinski, 2004). According to Rasinski (2004) fluency is
an important factor contributing to student s reading success. Strategies for Teaching Reading

Roles Of Animals In Medieval Times
In the Middle Ages from the 12th to 14th centuries, animal books, or bestiaries, depicted and
explained the roles of animals in natures. However, these books had greater significance than
merely providing necessary knowledge for the survival of these wild peoples as the medieval
period in Europe was primarily and intensely Christian, the bestiaries carried a distinctly religious
connotation as well. The Physiologus, the most widely distributed book in Europe after the Bible,
not only describes mythical and real animals, but also explains why they exist. For example, just
as Christ revived humanity with his blood after three days in his grave, the beautiful pelican can
revive her perished young after three days with her own blood. God, as creator, purposefully
designed his creatures to reflect his teachings and thus, nature and the bestiary tradition is God s...

Exploration Of The Clarity Of Nature In Jon Krakauer s...
Postadolescent fog: Krakauer s Exploration of the Clarity of Nature in Into the Wild In the novel
Into the Wild, Jon Krakauer examines many of the theories relating to as why the protagonist,
Chris McCandless decided to venture into the Alaska wilderness. In doing so, he reflects upon
his motivation to climb as well as how his childhood affected these motivations. Krakauer
describes this awkward phase in his life as a thick postadolescent fog (134). While it seems
ordinary for someone to go through this transitional period in which they are entering the
threshold of adulthood, the way in which Krakauer overcomes it is not ordinary. He turns to
mountain climbing as a form of escapism and uses nature as a coping mechanism. Krakauer s
reassurance from the effects of climbing is important because it reveals a reliance on the purity of
nature and it s freedom from external opinions. In response to the claims of McCandless s Alaskan
journey being a suicide mission, Krakauer reflects upon the speculations of McCandless s
decisions through a more personal lens. Krakauer finds resemblance among himself and
McCandless through their aversion towards their own parental figures. While reflecting on these
late teenage years, Krakauer describes his postadolescent as a thick...fog, and he has many
implications behind this description (134). Fog hinders the visibility of a person and makes it
challenging to see into the distance. By using the metaphor of the fog, Krakauer indicates

The Socio-Cultural Analysis Of India
The Socio Cultural Analysis of India Culture is defined as The arts, beliefs, customs,
institutions, and other products of human work and thought considered as a unit, especially
with regard to a particular time or social group by American Heritage Dictionary of the English
Language (2011). Also, the Dictionary of Military and Associated Terms (2005) defines culture
as A feature of the terrain that has been constructed by man. Included are such items as roads,
buildings, and canals; boundary lines; and, in a broad sense, all names and legends on a map .
In a nutshell, culture is everything that makes up the basic ways of life. Culture is comprised of
five basic characteristics. Culture is learned, shared, symbolic, integrated, and dynamic (Bueno,
2012). This means that aspects of culture are spread by social interactions such as trade, language
and other communication technologies. Some of the more common forms of communication
technologies and language are movies, television shows, literature, arts, and local history.
Symbolism is similar to the learned and shared aspects in many ways. Language, literature, and
the arts are all major ways in which the symbolism of a specific culture is spread. The integration
of culture is based on pattern. The specific dimensions of social life create social norms that are
followed. The economy and politics are two of the more prevalent forms of social life that lead to
the patterns of integration. Lastly, there is a

Essay On Computer Advantages And Disadvantages
When building a computer, there will be some challenges you might have to face in gathering
information, assembling a computer, and supporting the system after assembly. While on the other
hand, it can be difficult to choose what computer you should buy. The difference of buying and
building a computer comes down to personal wants, but there are disadvantages and advantages for
both options.
The challenges you would face when building a computer can sometimes seem overwhelming. As
you are gathering information, you have to make sure that everything is compatible with each
other. You can t go out and buy a motherboard, only to discover that one of your other parts doesn t
fit the right requirements. You also needto spend a good deal of time researching what you want, so
to make sure that things work together. When assembling the computer, you have to worry
about being gentle with your hardware. You have got to make sure that you keep yourself static
free as well because if you do not ground yourself while in the building process, you could cause
damage to your components. One way to avoid this is to not wear wool or rub your socks on the
carpet; This helps to prevent a build up of static electricity, and you could always buy an antistatic
wrist strap. By building a computer, you will have to fix the problem if anything goes wrong.
This can be a challenge since you have different components from different companies. If you
don t know what you re doing, you will have to pay for those damages; You can t get much help
from one company to try to repair your computer either. Another challenge you face in building a
computer, is that you have control over what goes into the computer. This can be a challenge
since there is such a large variety of components to choose from, with prices being different, and
the parts having different performances. At the same time, this just adds to the idea of full
customization for the customer. So the 3 big cons are; You are responsible for fixing a damaged
part, You have to make sure everything is compatible with each other, and it could be sometimes

Greatest Monarch tells the story of Charlotte and how her death leaded to the rule of Queen
Victoria. Kate Williams shares the twists and turns through the history of Great Britain s different
rulers. Kate has written a few other novels covering eighteenth century Britain, she has gone
through courses at Oxford(undergraduate and D.Phil in history) and Queen Mary, University of
London(M.A). She also appears on BBC. Kate does a fine job explaining how the British
monarchy works and who would take the throne next. She makes it... Show more content on

never saw her so happy or so gracious as she is (Williams 118) many people could notice how
happy Charlotte about marrying Leopold. Less than a year later it was announced Carlottle was
to birth a new member of the royal family. As the pregnancy wore on, Charlotte s health began to
deteriorate. She started to feel more and more exhausted, and to suffer from low spirits and
depression. (Williams 133). The closer Charlotte was to her due date the more sick she became.
Sadly, since the science wasn t very advanced in 1800s, doctors would fall back to bleeding and
starvation diets which sickened Charlotte even more. On November 5, 1817 a baby boy was born
dead, and shortly after so was Charlotte. England was devastated there were riots from lack of

I Am A Third Culture Kid (TCK)
Born to a Moroccan father and a French mother had a great impact on my upbringing. More so,
being the child of a diplomat. It has definitively brought its shares of benefits and sometimes
unexpected challenges and you can say that I am a Third Culture Kid (TCK). I have had the
unique experience of being exposed to and living in cultures different from my home culture for
long periods of time and that exposure has been found to have an impact on the level of
authoritarianism that I am exhibiting. It has been brought to my attention that in my
professional and personal life, I have a tendency to try to impose my opinion on others. Moving
forward, I am seeing myself trying to change this perception that others have of me as being too
aggressive (not in the physical sense), too abusive or too direct and even sometimes excessively
curt or critical. In retrospect, I found myself many times thinking if something I had said or a
reaction I had was uncalled for. I know that a change to a specific trait(s) in one s personality
cannot occur overnight, but admitting that I have flaws is a good precursor to change. My
assessment survey also unraveled an interesting gap (negative) between how effective of a leader
I think I am and what others think. I breathe a sigh of relief when seeing that at least I am being
seen as a somewhat effective leader despite being too demanding and direct. Ultimately, my vision
or the big change as I would like to call it, should start by

Citric Acid On The Viscoelasticity Of Cornstarch
Effects of Citric Acid on the Viscoelasticity of Cornstarch Pastes

The effects of citric acid on the rheological properties of cornstarch pastes were studied by steady
shear and dynamic oscillatory viscoelasticity, intrinsic viscosity measurements and microscopic
observation. The pH of cornstarch dispersion was adjusted between 6.0 and 3.0. The viscosity of
the pastes was increased by lowering the pH (between 5.5 and 3.6), while the viscosity of samples
with pH below 3.5 decreased further than that of the control (pH ) 6.3). Citric ... Show more content

After stirring the dispersions at 200 rpm for 30 min at 25 В°C, the cornstarch dispersions were
heated to 97 В°C, stirring at the same rate and maintained at 97 В°C for 60 min. Then, the hot
dispersions were poured into glass vessels and cooled in a water bath at 25 В°C equipped with a
temperature regulator, stirring with magnetic stirrers. The samples were also prepared, which were
then adjusted to the pH after heating and cooling the starch dispersions (i.e., after gelatinization of
starch). The final concentration of cornstarch was 3.0 wt %. Steady Shear and Dynamic
Oscillatory Measurements. Steady shear and dynamic oscillatory measurements of starch pastes
were carried out using a Fluids Spectrometer RFS II (Rheometrics Co. Ltd., Piscataway, NJ) with a
50 mm diameter plate geometry. The gap was adjusted to 1.00 mm. All measurements were made at
25.0 В°C. From these measurements, shear viscosity (О·Оі), storage modulus (G′), loss Л
modulus (G ), and complex viscosity (|η*|ω ) (G′2 + G′′2)1/2/ω) were

Essay on Revolutionary Causes
A number of issues raised tensions between the colonies and Great Britain. The already tense
atmosphere was pushed even further with a number of taxes, acts and proclamations passed by
Britain. These numerous acts usually dealt with taxes and other issues that came into conflict with
the independent nature of the American colonists. No one issue was solely responsible for the
eventual American Revolution. Though all of these added together raised the resentment to a
boiling point and all contributed to the revolution. The harsh frontier life led to the independent and
often stubborn nature of the American Colonists. This development of this unique colonial
personality conflicted drastically with the norms of the British Empire. This... Show more content

Their fear led to more racial violence against the Native population. This conflict lasted from 1763
until a truce was at last finalized in 1766.
Britain instituted the Proclamation of 1763 in response to the Native American threat and the racial
tensions that permeated the colonial frontier. This proclamation attempted to appease and reassure
the natives who feared colonial expansion. The Proclamation of 1763 formed four additional
colonies and closed the frontier to further expansion. The colonies formed were Quebec, East and
West Florida and Grenada. The frontier was closed to settlement west of the Appalachian
Mountains. An Indian reserve was set aside west of the Appalachian Mountains and the natives
were placed under protection of the king. This act required settlers in the banned area to abandon
their farms and land. British troops were sent to enforce the Proclamation, as the crown had no faith
that the colonist would obey. The colonists were enraged by the Proclamation. The colonists had
supported the French Indian Warfully expecting to receive more frontier land as the prize of war.
The Proclamation seemed to steal the valuable land from them, as the colonists saw the situation.
Most colonists had no respect for the native tribes and did not believe that the native tribes had any
claim to the land and resented Britain handing over valuable land to the natives. The colonists also

What Are The Stereotypes Of African Americans
In today s modern society there have been numerous stereotypes and standards built up for every
culture, gender, and race. One of the biggest races impacted by these stereotypes is the African
Americans. They ve fought long and hard for freedom, independence, and equality. Yet they can t
seem to catch a break with everyday cultural stereotypes. From the foods they eat, to the voice
they talk in, and the clothes they wear. They are often labeled hood or Ghetto being an assumption
they are from the slums if they do not act or represent they selves in a certain manner. The
stereotypes for African Americans are something as mediocre as they all like chicken to as
outlandish as Talking white if they do not use inner city slang. The African

The Pros And Cons Of Prison Reform
I chose to argue that prisons should be designed for reform rather than punishment alone. I
wanted to write on this topic because I would like to see prisons become more focused on
helping criminals change and rehabilitate. I strongly believe in an inherent goodness in every
individual born to this earth. As I started reading Just Mercy, my eyes were opened to how
prisons degrade inmates. There s a stigma that criminals are bad guys. Just because someone did
something bad does not mean they are a bad person. I m very interested in psychology, and one
area I ve focused my studied on is what motivates people to do morally wrong things. It s
intriguing to see how even the vilest murderers once started out as children who were abused.
Religiously,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I attempted to make this argument by convincing my audience that focusing on reform in
prisons would make our communities safer, and is overall the more humane thing to do. I used
logos by listing specific things that could and should be done in prisons, including a statistic of
current crime rates among released prisoners, and using an analogy of what kind of discipline
best helps correct a child s behavior. I used pathos by explaining the fearful atmosphere of
prisons, relating the topic of reform to an innocent child, bringing in the topic of hope, and
discussing values of divine worth and inherent goodness. I used ethos by using a collected,
motivational tone, writing at a formal level, and showing my lack of bias by explaining that I ve
been on the prosecuting side of criminal justice. Finally, I used a rebuttal both at the beginning and
the end of my argument, starting by saying I agree criminals deserve some form of punishment, and
ending by saying I do not excuse crime, however I believe the way we go about treating criminals
should be

A Brief Note On The Electronic Health Records
Nursing is a very interesting field because of the fact that it never stays constant; new changes
occur all time in the purpose of improving nursing care. Nursing is a hands on type of occupation;
however, as the year elapsed the nursing field also shares its growth and development in the
technology area. These technologies range from the simplest to the most sophisticated ones.
The (EHR) or Electric Health Records
One of those technologies includes: The (EHR) or electric health records which is merely defined
by the Wikipedia as: a health record in a digital format . An electronic health recordis a compilation
of patient health information electronically stored by one or more encounters in any health care
setting. The electronic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main purpose of the Electronic Health Record is to emphasis on the entire health of the patient.
(RTLS) Real Time Locating Systems
One other interesting technology available in the health care field is (RTLS) real time locating
systems; these systems use ID tags or ultrasound to automatically locate people or medical
equipment for inventory purpose and for easy access. It can also be used to monitor patient in
mental health facility in order to ensure their safety. The RTLS is an important tool in the
healthcare system as it can locate employees or patients at any giving time in case of an
emergency at any given time. It can be beneficial in finding any misplaced piece of equipment to
avoid panic and misused of time. One can argue that the RTLS can be viewed as a treat to
privacy when it is used to monitor patients or employees, however as soon as the benefit outgrow
the loss of privacy it is considered acceptable due to the fact that the information retrieved is now
shared with unauthorized people. Similar portable devices like tablet computers and mobile charts
allow the healthcare staff to have access to patient s information and medications at hand that way
they can avoid the countless trips for supplies and medications. As a result they have more time to
focus on the patient s clinical needs.

  • 2. Winston Churchill Personality Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. (Xplore). This quote by Winston Churchill exemplifies his hardworking and stubborn personality which helped him become a figurehead of British history. Churchill s time as a young boy inspired him to pursue a career in politics, which in turn transformed him into a masterful public speaker and the legendary personality that he is remembered and celebrated for today. Winston s early years played a major role in shaping him into the legendary leader he was later in his life. Winston Leonard Churchill was born on Nov, 30, 1874, in Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire, England. His father was Conservative politician, Lord Randolph Henry Spencer Churchill and his mother was Jennie Jerome, daughter of a New York stockbroker, financier and newspaper proprietor. They were a glamorous high society couple but, distant parents. They were more interested in being part of the English society than caring for her son. His parents were rarely around to care for and love him; this lead to him resenting them at times. He felt they treated him as an afterthought (International Churchill Society 1 2). Winston had one younger brother, named Jack Churchill, who took up his parents attention even more. Since their parents were always away from home, the Churchill boys were cared for by a nanny named Mrs.Everest. Winston was extremely fond of Everest, calling her names such as Woomany from a young age. He ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Hoffman Estates, 60169 ssheikh6@mail.depaul.edu ABSTRACT The purpose of the study is to investigate on cultural differences in online learning experience and how courses should be designed by instructors to accommodate for students with cultural barrier for successful transition. Geert Hofstede, a Dutch cultural anthropologist, analyzed cultures along five dimensions of power, self, gender, predictability, and time. His theory was applied on interviews conducted on 5 Pakistani female students and 5 American female students to understand the cultural shock that has impacted their progress in university. Results were analyzed and compared to Hofstede s cultural ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hofstede s cultural dimension claims individuals from eastern societies are high on uncertainty avoidance and are worried about their future. It is always a challenge but they tend to be adaptable. Teachers are using techniques such as videoconferences, screen sharing, online conferences, web based guides, or images to help their students enhance skills in whatever subject that interest them. Giving practical advice on putting together effective courses and programs help individuals comprehend material better than a messy outline that is hard to follow [2]. It is essential to provide a structural course work to the students who will be using online courses to implement the virtual learning in real life through activities, homework, exam, and assessments. However, modern communication has allowed design and development but concerns regarding cultural dimensions are still problematic. The current research recommends that international virtual learners felt alienated from American learners in an interactive online environment. Understanding the key concepts of Hofseted s cultural dimensions theory fill out the gap and provides a cross cultural communication framework to effectively create an equal environment for both eastern and western societies. • 4. The Levels Of Carbon Dioxide In the modern industrial era, the levels of Carbon Dioxide produced are much more significant than in years before. Due to Carbon Dioxides involvement in ocean acidification, this is a major issue. Since the beginning of the industrial revolution, the pH of the ocean surface has fallen by 0.1 units. Although this may not seem significant, due to the logarithmic properties of the pHscale, this change signifies about a 30% increase in ocean acidity. If this issue isn t addressed, there will be dire consequences for both marine organisms, as well as humans. To understand ocean acidification, some chemistry needs to be defined and understood. Co2 is a compound molecule comprising of one carbon atom bonded to two oxygen atoms through a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The molecules gain a shell of water molecules and are transformed from CO2 (g) to CO2 (aq). This is known as the dissolution process. This can be shown in the equilibrium reaction. Equilibrium is a state in a reaction in which both the reactants and the products are present in concentrations that are both constant, and will not change over time. This state results when the forward reaction is proceeding at the same rate as the reverse reaction. An example of this can be seen in the dissolution of Sodium Chloride in water. If the equilibrium equation NaCl(s) NaCl (aq) is used, we can see that the compound in the solid form is re crystalizing at the same rate as the aqueous form is dissolving. There are 3 main disturbances that can alter equilibrium, a change in concentration of reactants or products, a change in temperature or a change in pressure. According to Le Chatelier s principle, if any of these three is disturbed, the system compensates by shifting the equilibrium to either the left or the right. This can be seen in the equilibrium reactions associated with sea water. In the dissolution process of CO2 discussed before, not all of the CO2 molecules remain dissolved. A small amount react with the water to form carbonic acid (H2CO3), which can be seen in the equation CO2 (aq) + H2O H2CO3 (aq). As carbonic acid is a weak acid, it can dissociate to bicarbonate or carbonate. These two equations respectfully are H2CO3 (aq H+ (aq) + HCO3 (aq), ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Safety Case Study A business may have to sometimes alienate some customers for the betterment of their workers and business in general. There is controversy on the fact that delivery services like Domino s and little Caesars do not deliver in locations that are deemed dangerous and have a color system designated for certain neighborhoods. The American Civil Liberties Union criticizes this practice as discriminatory as some of these neighborhoods are predominantly minority neighborhoods and believe it is a racial issue. I believe that the issue is safety as some neighborhoods are more dangerous and create a risk towards the delivery workers. As a customer of these neighborhoods it can be frustrating not being able to get pizza, but if a business had to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On the other hand there is also the possibility of losing money by not delivering in certain locations, and there is the moral risk of putting workers life at risk for continuing business. In a situation such as this it will be hard to please both sides, as both a customers and workers concern needs to be taken into account. As a business manager the main moral concern should be the workers that it has employed and their safety even if sales are lost. For the long run of the company you needs to find a balance, workers to feel safe, and customers to feel accommodated by the business. As a business manager concern of the customer needs to be taken higher into account. Having customers feel that they are being prejudiced against will be bad for public perception. The company can also re asses the location to their franchise in the future to prevent the current situation. When it comes to marketing programs the best recommend action for the company to address is not to address the situation. Identifying the issue via marketing programs would bring more scrutiny to the company. Plenty of other organizations are trouble by the same situation and at no time it addressed the issue to the public view. Evaluation of the situation is needed to identify if it is a regional issue only. The country is Saudi Arabia, and though it is thought of by many as a rather backward country, Saudi Arabia has a rich history and culture, and it is a country that revolves around Islam and the worship of Allahas the one true God. For about fifteen hundred years, Saudi Arabia s history has centered on one major theme: Islam. Muhammad, the founder of Islam, was born around 570 A.D. in the city of Mecca. Ibn Abd al Wahhab was discontent with the growing disregard for Islamic teachings in Arabia. He taught that the people should return to strict observance and practice of Islamic laws. Adherents to this belief, called Wahhabis, were backed by the armies of the Saud dynasty, and together, these forces began a movement. Areas that converted to Wahhabi beliefs were taken over by the Saud family, thus increasing the size of the Saudi State. However, by 1891, most Saudi control of Arabia was taken by tribal chiefs and by the Ottoman Empire. Then, in 1902, a young Saudi leader named Abd al Aziz ibn Saud began to reclaim land that his ancestors had lost. He also sought diligently to revive the Wahhabi movement, which heavily emphasized the Islamic beliefs and strict adherence to them. In 1932, Ibn Saud unified the regions he conquered into one state an Islamic state that he dubbed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Throughout the next fifty years, under the reign of Ibn Saud and his descendents, Saudi Arabia grew wealthier as a nation, while striving to keep its Islamic values at the same time. There are many theories on how violence in media does, and how it does not, affect our society. Many people claim watching television or even playing video games will affect children s or young adults minds. Researches claim that they found no evidence of change in aggressiveness in children or young adults while playing video games. Researchers allowed children that had been diagnosed with disruptive behavior disorder and to play violent video games and found no change in pattern when or even after these children played. This study measured activity in the frontal cortex of the brain by using two groups of five girls and fourteen boys while they made a task requiring focus. The frontal cortex has been related to problems having to do with self control and attention. One of the groups was considered aggressive and also diagnosed with disruptive behavior disorder and the second group had no history of any behavioral problems. Half of the children in each group had been opened to high levels of media violence; this included them watching and playing violent video games and television. The results of the experiment showed that all of the aggressive children had reduced activity in the frontal cortex of their brains. The non aggressive group of children that were exposed to high levels of media violence showed a lower amount of brain ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although there is little time the child has to spend with the family, it has been made very clear that the child s house keeping responsibilities show the true love for her family. The daughter has no way of expressing love to her family so the only way she can convey her emotion is through ironing her family s clothing. Alvarez conveys life to the apparel of her family and additionally to the task itself of tending to those garments. However, as times change educationfails to completely change with it. Secondary educationis no longer seen as a means to earning financial stability. Saccular aneurysm can be caused by infections, tumors, or drugs. Aneurysms occur to people in their early forties to their late fifties. Most aneurysms occur to people that are around age sixty. The Plasmodium vivax has a enlarged erythrocyte, Schuffner s dots, and ameboid trophozoites. The Plasmodium ovale is similar to the Plasmodium ovale, it has compact trophozoites, fewer merozoites in schizont, and elongated erythrocytes. The Plasmodium Malariae is a compact parasite and it has merozoites in rosette (Wiser, 2011). To further identify this infectious disease, it can be broken down into its taxonomic classification. The authors stress that leadership is not a gene and it s not an inheritance. Leadership they assert is an identifiable set of skills and abilities that are available to all of us (p. 23). They make clear that the great person theory of leadershipis plain wrong. Leaders are our everyday heroes who do extraordinary things on a regular basis (p. 23). The authors refer to James MacGregory Burns transformational leadership theory asserting that people commit to causes, not plans (p. 122). In order to have a transforming effect, the leader must raise the level of human conduct and ethical aspiration of both the leader and follower. Just like Kotter (1990) outlines the methods to change an organizational culture is by telling stories, using symbols, the designing of physical space, using jargon, rituals, etc., Kouzes Posner suggest the same thing when they explain the power in using symbolic language to communicate a shared identify and give life to a vision (p. 143). • 25. Essay On Identity In Othello A change in an individual s perspective and identity can enrich an individual s sense of belonging. Conversely, an individual s sense of belonging may be destroyed when a change in their perspective and identity occurs. An identifiable example is Othello, wherein it is perceivable that his notion of identity and strong senseof selfis shattered. His calm and collective persona has become one that is unstable and insecure which, in turn, affects his sense of belonging, particularly with Desdemona, and position as a Venetian general. A demonstration of this concept is seen in Act 4 Scene 1 (Line 61 62) where Iago exclaims There s many a beat then in a populous city, And many a civil monster. A quote that further supports this idea is found in Act 4 Scene 1 (Line 60) in which Iago states: A hornГЁd man s a monster and a beast . Also Mikaywa noticed that schizophrenia runs in the family, meaning there must be something other than environmental causes, causing the disorder. In evaluation of family studies it may be concluded that they are not very reliable as they are retrospective. • 32. Introduction Of Fluency Instruction On Fluency Introduction to Fluency Instruction Fluency is another key component of reading, because fluency has often been referred to as the bridge between phonics (decoding) and comprehension. According to Hudson, Lane and Pullen (2005) fluency is one of the defining characteristics of good readers, and lack of fluency is a common characteristic of poor readers (Hudson, Lane Pullen, 2005, p. 702). Fluency is made up three different components accuracy, rate and prosody. Rate refers to the speed or pace at which a student reads. Students should be readingat just right pace not too fast or too slow. This helps students free processing space for students to determine the meaning of a text. If student spends the whole time readingstruggling to decode the text, their brain does not have enough processing space for comprehension. If students read too fast or too slow they are concentrating more on the words than the actual meaning of the text. Accuracy is reading the passage with little to no errors in text or meaning, this one reason why students must be able to decode words accurately. Lastly, prosody refers to the student s ability to read with expression. Students must pay attention to punctuation in a text and taking pauses, and influcation when appropriate (Hudson, Lane Pullen, 2005 Rasinski, 2004). According to Rasinski (2004) fluency is an important factor contributing to student s reading success. Strategies for Teaching Reading Fluency A strategy for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Symbolism is similar to the learned and shared aspects in many ways. Language, literature, and the arts are all major ways in which the symbolism of a specific culture is spread. The integration of culture is based on pattern. The specific dimensions of social life create social norms that are followed. The economy and politics are two of the more prevalent forms of social life that lead to the patterns of integration. Lastly, there is a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Essay On Computer Advantages And Disadvantages When building a computer, there will be some challenges you might have to face in gathering information, assembling a computer, and supporting the system after assembly. While on the other hand, it can be difficult to choose what computer you should buy. The difference of buying and building a computer comes down to personal wants, but there are disadvantages and advantages for both options. The challenges you would face when building a computer can sometimes seem overwhelming. As you are gathering information, you have to make sure that everything is compatible with each other. You can t go out and buy a motherboard, only to discover that one of your other parts doesn t fit the right requirements. You also needto spend a good deal of time researching what you want, so to make sure that things work together. When assembling the computer, you have to worry about being gentle with your hardware. You have got to make sure that you keep yourself static free as well because if you do not ground yourself while in the building process, you could cause damage to your components. One way to avoid this is to not wear wool or rub your socks on the carpet; This helps to prevent a build up of static electricity, and you could always buy an antistatic wrist strap. By building a computer, you will have to fix the problem if anything goes wrong. This can be a challenge since you have different components from different companies. If you don t know what you re doing, you will have to pay for those damages; You can t get much help from one company to try to repair your computer either. Another challenge you face in building a computer, is that you have control over what goes into the computer. This can be a challenge since there is such a large variety of components to choose from, with prices being different, and the parts having different performances. At the same time, this just adds to the idea of full customization for the customer. So the 3 big cons are; You are responsible for fixing a damaged part, You have to make sure everything is compatible with each other, and it could be sometimes possible you will have to spend more money to get the things that you want performance wise. The 3 big pros are; You get full ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Finally, some recommendations will be given about how Siemens should do for handling the three issues respectively in the future. So this essay aims to utilize three real and typical events from Siemens to explain deeply and critically three contemporary issues. 1. Corporate corruption Definitions in the literature Corruption is recognized as a contemporary problem in the international community currently. Corruption can take kinds of types that can include graft, bribery, embezzlement and extortion. For its influence, the United Nations international crime prevention center claimed that corruption has the threaten ability and negative impact on social, political and economic development and the value of morality, social stability and security of the world(Das, 2016). Becoming Queen Victoria Britain has gone through many royal deaths and many more monarchs, but no death more tragic than Princess Charlotte of Wales and no monarch greater than Queen Alexandrina Victoria. The book Becoming Queen Victoria: the Tragic Death of Princess Charlotte and the Rise of Britain s Greatest Monarch tells the story of Charlotte and how her death leaded to the rule of Queen Victoria. Kate Williams shares the twists and turns through the history of Great Britain s different rulers. Kate has written a few other novels covering eighteenth century Britain, she has gone through courses at Oxford(undergraduate and D.Phil in history) and Queen Mary, University of London(M.A). She also appears on BBC. Kate does a fine job explaining how the British monarchy works and who would take the throne next. She makes it... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Less than a year later it was announced Carlottle was to birth a new member of the royal family. As the pregnancy wore on, Charlotte s health began to deteriorate. She started to feel more and more exhausted, and to suffer from low spirits and depression. (Williams 133). The closer Charlotte was to her due date the more sick she became. Sadly, since the science wasn t very advanced in 1800s, doctors would fall back to bleeding and starvation diets which sickened Charlotte even more. On November 5, 1817 a baby boy was born dead, and shortly after so was Charlotte. England was devastated there were riots from lack of respect from the government. All hope was gone for a ... • 43. I Am A Third Culture Kid (TCK) Born to a Moroccan father and a French mother had a great impact on my upbringing. More so, being the child of a diplomat. It has definitively brought its shares of benefits and sometimes unexpected challenges and you can say that I am a Third Culture Kid (TCK). I have had the unique experience of being exposed to and living in cultures different from my home culture for long periods of time and that exposure has been found to have an impact on the level of authoritarianism that I am exhibiting. It has been brought to my attention that in my professional and personal life, I have a tendency to try to impose my opinion on others. Moving forward, I am seeing myself trying to change this perception that others have of me as being too aggressive (not in the physical sense), too abusive or too direct and even sometimes excessively curt or critical. In retrospect, I found myself many times thinking if something I had said or a reaction I had was uncalled for. I know that a change to a specific trait(s) in one s personality cannot occur overnight, but admitting that I have flaws is a good precursor to change. My assessment survey also unraveled an interesting gap (negative) between how effective of a leader I think I am and what others think. I breathe a sigh of relief when seeing that at least I am being seen as a somewhat effective leader despite being too demanding and direct. Ultimately, my vision or the big change as I would like to call it, should start by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Citric Acid On The Viscoelasticity Of Cornstarch Effects of Citric Acid on the Viscoelasticity of Cornstarch Pastes MADOKA HIRASHIMA, RHEO TAKAHASHI, AND KATSUYOSHI NISHINARI* Department of Food and Human Health Sciences, Graduate School of Human Life Science, Osaka City University, Sumiyoshi, Osaka 558 8585, Japan The effects of citric acid on the rheological properties of cornstarch pastes were studied by steady shear and dynamic oscillatory viscoelasticity, intrinsic viscosity measurements and microscopic observation. The pH of cornstarch dispersion was adjusted between 6.0 and 3.0. The viscosity of the pastes was increased by lowering the pH (between 5.5 and 3.6), while the viscosity of samples with pH below 3.5 decreased further than that of the control (pH ) 6.3). Citric ... After stirring the dispersions at 200 rpm for 30 min at 25 В°C, the cornstarch dispersions were heated to 97 В°C, stirring at the same rate and maintained at 97 В°C for 60 min. Then, the hot dispersions were poured into glass vessels and cooled in a water bath at 25 В°C equipped with a temperature regulator, stirring with magnetic stirrers. The samples were also prepared, which were then adjusted to the pH after heating and cooling the starch dispersions (i.e., after gelatinization of starch). The final concentration of cornstarch was 3.0 wt %. Steady Shear and Dynamic Oscillatory Measurements. Steady shear and dynamic oscillatory measurements of starch pastes were carried out using a Fluids Spectrometer RFS II (Rheometrics Co. Ltd., Piscataway, NJ) with a 50 mm diameter plate geometry. The gap was adjusted to 1.00 mm. All measurements were made at 25.0 В°C. From these measurements, shear viscosity (О·Оі), storage modulus (G′), loss Л modulus (G ), and complex viscosity (|О·*|П‰ ) (G′2 + G′′2)1/2/П‰) were Figure 2. • 45. Essay on Revolutionary Causes A number of issues raised tensions between the colonies and Great Britain. The already tense atmosphere was pushed even further with a number of taxes, acts and proclamations passed by Britain. These numerous acts usually dealt with taxes and other issues that came into conflict with the independent nature of the American colonists. No one issue was solely responsible for the eventual American Revolution. Though all of these added together raised the resentment to a boiling point and all contributed to the revolution. The harsh frontier life led to the independent and often stubborn nature of the American Colonists. This development of this unique colonial personality conflicted drastically with the norms of the British Empire. This... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Their fear led to more racial violence against the Native population. This conflict lasted from 1763 until a truce was at last finalized in 1766. Britain instituted the Proclamation of 1763 in response to the Native American threat and the racial tensions that permeated the colonial frontier. This proclamation attempted to appease and reassure the natives who feared colonial expansion. The Proclamation of 1763 formed four additional colonies and closed the frontier to further expansion. The colonies formed were Quebec, East and West Florida and Grenada. The frontier was closed to settlement west of the Appalachian Mountains. An Indian reserve was set aside west of the Appalachian Mountains and the natives were placed under protection of the king. This act required settlers in the banned area to abandon their farms and land. British troops were sent to enforce the Proclamation, as the crown had no faith that the colonist would obey. The colonists were enraged by the Proclamation. The colonists had supported the French Indian Warfully expecting to receive more frontier land as the prize of war. The Proclamation seemed to steal the valuable land from them, as the colonists saw the situation. Most colonists had no respect for the native tribes and did not believe that the native tribes had any claim to the land and resented Britain handing over valuable land to the natives. The colonists also ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One of the biggest races impacted by these stereotypes is the African Americans. They ve fought long and hard for freedom, independence, and equality. Yet they can t seem to catch a break with everyday cultural stereotypes. From the foods they eat, to the voice they talk in, and the clothes they wear. They are often labeled hood or Ghetto being an assumption they are from the slums if they do not act or represent they selves in a certain manner. • 47. The Pros And Cons Of Prison Reform I chose to argue that prisons should be designed for reform rather than punishment alone. I wanted to write on this topic because I would like to see prisons become more focused on helping criminals change and rehabilitate. I strongly believe in an inherent goodness in every individual born to this earth. As I started reading Just Mercy, my eyes were opened to how prisons degrade inmates. There s a stigma that criminals are bad guys. Just because someone did something bad does not mean they are a bad person. I m very interested in psychology, and one area I ve focused my studied on is what motivates people to do morally wrong things. It s intriguing to see how even the vilest murderers once started out as children who were abused. Religiously,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I attempted to make this argument by convincing my audience that focusing on reform in prisons would make our communities safer, and is overall the more humane thing to do. I used logos by listing specific things that could and should be done in prisons, including a statistic of current crime rates among released prisoners, and using an analogy of what kind of discipline best helps correct a child s behavior. I used pathos by explaining the fearful atmosphere of prisons, relating the topic of reform to an innocent child, bringing in the topic of hope, and discussing values of divine worth and inherent goodness. I used ethos by using a collected, motivational tone, writing at a formal level, and showing my lack of bias by explaining that I ve been on the prosecuting side of criminal justice. Finally, I used a rebuttal both at the beginning and the end of my argument, starting by saying I agree criminals deserve some form of punishment, and ending by saying I do not excuse crime, however I believe the way we go about treating criminals should be ... (RTLS) Real Time Locating Systems One other interesting technology available in the health care field is (RTLS) real time locating systems; these systems use ID tags or ultrasound to automatically locate people or medical equipment for inventory purpose and for easy access. It can also be used to monitor patient in mental health facility in order to ensure their safety. The RTLS is an important tool in the healthcare system as it can locate employees or patients at any giving time in case of an emergency at any given time. It can be beneficial in finding any misplaced piece of equipment to avoid panic and misused of time. One can argue that the RTLS can be viewed as a treat to privacy when it is used to monitor patients or employees, however as soon as the benefit outgrow the loss of privacy it is considered acceptable due to the fact that the information retrieved is now shared with unauthorized people. Similar portable devices like tablet computers and mobile charts allow the healthcare staff to have access to patient s information and medications at hand that way they can avoid the countless trips for supplies and medications. As a result they have more time to focus on the patient s clinical needs. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
