Managing Users in Heterogeneous IT Landscapes
One of the main challenge organizations is facing is managing users in heterogeneous IT
landscapes. Organizations are preferring the access control via role management (Franqueira, V. N.
L et al., 2012). With the evolving responsibilities, the system landscape is becoming more and more
complex and difficult to manage and track (SAP1, 2012). With SAP NetWeaver Identity
Management(IdM), we can manage identities and their authorizations centrally in both SAP and
non SAP system landscapes. This comes with employee self services and SAP BusinessObjects
Access Control formerly GRC (Governance, risk management, and compliance) (SAP2, 2012)
integration which helps in risk detection and mitigation and makes identity management more
compliant. Using NetWeaver IdM, a highly customizable framework we can provide joint
authenticationfor all business processes and a single sign on as a secure identity management
solution. Driving factors for implementation of Identity management include a decrease in
operational cost, frequently evolving business processes with increasing complexity and inability to
de provision a user completely. Many challenges come from the desire to grant single sign on
access to collections of resources that might have contradictory access protection rules (Buell, D.A.
et al., 2003). The functions of NetWeaver IdM include role management, Identity Virtualization,
data synchronization, customized work flows and approval process, passwordmanagement, identity

Compare The Reaction Between Tert-Butyl Chloride And Alkyl...
The data reveals that reactions occurred in all four test tubes. This means that all four test tubes
turned out to be positive reactions. The data collected regarding the reactions did not meet the
expectation. The expectation was that two out of the four tubes would yield a reaction. To be
specific, the expectation was that only one of the first two tubes would have a reaction, and only
one of the second two tubes (tubes 3 4) would have a reaction. This was the expectation because
the goal of the reactions was to verify the structure of the alkyl halides. The structure of the tert
butyl chloride and chlorobutane were in question. If they reacted with NaI, it could be concluded
that they were primary alkyl halides. If they reacted with AgNO3, it could be concluded that they
were tertiary alkyl halides.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
AgNO3 easily undergoes reactions with tertiary alkyl halides (SN1). The four tubes should not all
have undergone reactions because that would give an unclear indication whether or not the alkyl
halides were primary or tertiary. Two tubes were supposed to undergo reaction and two should not
have. It is likely that the error that made the extra two test tubes react was contamination. If the
test tubes contained traces of both solvents, it would be possible that the alkyl halides would react
in all the test tubes. This is because the alkyl halide would react with its preferred solvent, even if
the solvent is present in small quantities. This contamination could have been due to using the same
pipette to transfer the solvents. It also could have been possible that the test tubes used were not
properly cleaned and still contained traces of

Purpose to define framework for the security policies of IT
The framework of security policy is defined to construct a structure by the help of which policy
gaps can be identified in an easy manner. A system specific policy would assist to ensure that all
employees and management comply with the policies. This is also used to maintain the
confidentiality for user authentication would assist in the confidentiality aspect of security,
maintain integrity (There are several limiting rules or constraints which are distinct in the relational
data model and whose work is to maintain the data s accuracy and maintain its integrity.),
availability and authenticity of the system. Access controls are a collection of mechanisms that
work together to create security architecture to protect the assets of an information system. One of
the goals of access control is personal accountability, which is the mechanism that proves someone
performed a computer activity at a specific point in time. So, the framework acts as the guideline ...

How Did W. E. B Dubois Impact Society
The Harlem Renaissance was a period in the 1920s when African American achievements in art,
music, and literature flourished. This movement took place in Harlem, New York. During this time
period, lots of influential African American activist arose and aided in the Civil Rights Movement.
The Harlem Renaissance helped to bring the African American community together to form new
ideological thinking, music, and literature. Among one of the many talented artists during this time
was W.E.B DuBois. In my opinion, DuBois helped the African American community become
something more that what society s standard was of them. Also, he is one of the co founders of the
NAACP. Maya Angelou is one of the more modern Civil Rights Activist.

Dubois died on August 27, 1963, one day before Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his I Have a

a pull than a push, surging forward of the exceptional man, and the lifting of his duller brethren
slowly and painfully to his vantage ground. Maya Angelou died on May 28, 2014, at her home in
Winston Salem, North Carolina. W.E.B. Dubois and Maya Angelou worked for the equality of
African Americans and women. Through the Harlem Renaissance to the Modern day, this man and

The Leader I Will Position This Paper On Is Warren Buffet
The leader I will position this paper on is Warren Buffet. A well known person in the business
world as well as known the past years for his philanthropy, in partnership with Bill Gates has
donated a large proportion of their income and investments to a foundation that fights poverty and
several other causes that trouble this planet. I I first became actively interested in Warren Buffettin
2009 as a sophomore in college, then studying for management methods and great leaders. Since
then I have been looking through the new and track down this man s incredible career.
With a course in business since he was eleven years old, Buffet went from a pin ball machine
owner in his teen year to a billionaire. He was described by his friends and family as a
mathematical prodigy; Buffet completed his studies at the University of Nebraska and acquired
his master s degree from Columbia Business School under Benjamin Graham, which eventually
became his mentor and employer. Various investments and entrepreneurship s put Buffet today in
the pantheon of living business legends, with the most significant the acquire of Berkshire
Hathaway a textile business that was turned into a billion dollar organization. In addition, he
owns a large percentage in Coca Cola, which he served as a CEO for a few years, but also
subsidiaries that the past decade have skyrocketed to the Fortune 500, such as Geiko, Heinz,
Washington Post and Exxon. The press and his coworkers have named him with many nicknames

Fetal Pig Dissection Lab Report
To continue, I then began to examine the endocrine system of the fetal pig. I began this dissection
by finding the endocrine organs that are located in the area of throat. These organs were the thyroid
and thymus. The thyroid s responsibility is to produce amino acids that will help to regulate
metabolism. The shape of the thyroidis oval like, and has a dark brown tint. The second endocrine
organ found in the throat is the thymus. The thymus functions to provide immunity against
diseases. It has a pink appearance, and is long in length. I was successful in finding three endocrine
organs in the abdominal cavity. The first organ found was the adrenal gland. The function of this
gland is to produce various hormones. This gland is identifiable... Show more content on

This complex organ can be found in upper right side of the abdomen. It is unique because it is a
dual functioning organ. The first function is to control the body s blood sugar level. The second
function is to secrete insulin and glucagon. Lastly, I studied the testes of the fetal pig, which I
found at the end of the scrotum under the skin. The teste are a key part in the process of secreting
testosterone. After completing this section I began to dissect the last system of the pig. The final
system of the body I examined was the digestive system. This is known to be one of the most
interesting areas of the body because of the many functions the system is responsible for. This
system is also home to several major organs. One major organ is the salivary gland. This gland is in
the lower part of the face, as well as the side of the face under the ear along the jaw line. The key
function is the gland s ability to produce saliva. These glands are light pink, and have a few
possible shapes and sizes. Following the gland, I began to take a look at the pharynx. This organ
can be found posterior to the larynx, and near the nasal and oral cavities. The pharynx is
responsible for assisting with the passage of food. It is a muscle like tube with the same

Black Bird Feeding Requirement Essay
Feeding Requirements
What you will feed the blackbird may be dependent on the blackbird s state but also the weather, as
what blackbirds eat are season dependent, for example: Spring and early summer they eat much
more insects and larvae than they do for the majority of summer and winter and autumn.
In the late summer through to autumn they eat an increase in earthworms, even though they eat
these throughout the year.
Blackbirds are able to eat: insects, worms, caterpillars, snails, spiders, berries, fruit and seeds.
The blackbird s appetite shouldn t really be affected because of a broken wing, however, their
appetite will have probably decreased due to the antibiotics given to them if they have been
given any antibiotic if there was blood present or if they are just generally feeling lousy, so make
sure that portion sizes are not over facing them. The blackbird may be in a state of shock so small
amounts of food is advisable as big portion sizes may make them feel sick. Feed the animal around

The bird won t be its usual self so leave at least five hours in between every meal because appetite
decreases when birds are out of sorts.
Imprinting will be prevented by making sure that the bird has to search for its scattered food at all
time and monitoring it to make sure its behaviour doesn t become the same or extremely similar to
another bird in there, otherwise that bird will become attached to the bird and won t wont to leave
it when it goes back into the wild, so it is essential to monitor the birds to prevent imprinting and
make sure its behaviour is unique.

The Song This Jesus Must Die
Musicals are a living form of art. A musical combines dance, dialogue, characters, music,
costumes and vocals in order to represent a moral issue. Some appear at the forefront of the plot
while others are presented alongside the storyline. A fitting example of a musical, is Jesus Christ
Superstar composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber. This musical is perfect as it is entirely sung, has
amazing rock musicand has themes and moral issues carefully intertwine throughout the plot.
However, the largest moral issue or dilemma is how popularity can negatively and positively affect
the main character Jesus.
The song This Jesus must Die is an excellent example of the negative side of popularity, as it
shows the Romans planning to kill Jesus before he surpasses them in power. The song begins
with a moderate tempo of 72bpm in a time signature of 4/4. However, the use of semibreves and
the organ slows the perceived tempo, giving the score a ghostly and ominous feel (seen in bars 1
13 and figure 1 and 2). This ominous feel is throughout these bars, as it represents the tension
between Jesus s power and the Roman authority. This also clearly sets up the roman s character, as
a dominating evil force. Furthermore, the use dissonant harmonies in the key of D minor such as

dynamics and playing the G minor scale. Additionally, this section uses mostly major chords (F
major and E flat 7th) to add to the exciting and joyful tone. Although, the bass and drums support
the vocalist by emphasising key words like made it, filth, raped and terrorised, (see bars 35 40
Figure 11). This symbolises, the completeness of Jesus fandom as there are little rests in this
section and Simon s words are emphasised adding more meaning to his lyrics or like they are being

Alcoholics Anonymous Group AA Meeting
For people that abuse alcohol, there is a group meeting called alcoholics anonymous, which is a
twelve step program to support and help alcoholics everywhere. The location I attended was the
AA meeting on 202 W. Broadway, Anaheim. The group session that I attended called their meeting
happy hour. What I gathered to be the purpose of this organization is to help people with drinking
problems or people with past drinking problems help cope with one another and recover in a safe
environment without judgment. According to OC AA, it is an association to share their
experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help
others to recover from alcoholism. Their primary purpose is to stay sober and help... Show more

Even just being there, listening to others peoples story will still make a difference in their life. An
additional issue that these people face is hitting rock bottom where they have lost everything in
life like, friends, family and themselves. One person went through this dramatic realization that
alcohol was ruining his life where at one point he lost his house, wife and became homeless. The
leader of the AA meeting gave him a chance to get his life together and make him get his life
before alcoholism became his happiness. He admitted and accepted that he was an alcoholic and he
told us that the AA meetings have turned his life around. Another issue is trying other drugs that
cause a synergistic effect that may result them to relapse. I heard one of the patients stating that
when they had the urge to drink or try drugs that they would call their fellow members from the
group meeting to get support, to help them fight the urge to pick up a

Alex Haley s Influence On The Civil Rights Movement
In a time of great curiosity all it takes is for one voice to capture a tradition to share to the world.

wrote most of his texts in a time known as the Civil Rights Movement, most of his novels

Persuasive Essay About Censorship
For everything that needs to be said there are always these things that never should be (Witherbee).
This statement has rung true for many generations and for many reasons. Censorship helps solve
this problem within T.V. shows, art, media, internet, and advertisements. In the world today people
are easily offended and some people use information to their advantage. Despite what some people
might believe, there are people in America that can use uncensored information to hinder the
productivity of the country to benefit themselves or another country. Censorshipis necessary to
protect different groups and people. However, some things are unnecessarily censored such as
books. Books are the best educator because authors usually have something more to say than the
words on the page say. There are certain groups such as the Parents Against Bad Books in
Schools who only see the words and meanings that are on the page (Parents Against Bad Books
in Schools). For example, the book Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain was banned from certain
schools because it said the word nigger in it (Witherbee). If the reader would have read the book s
entirety one would have discovered the anti slavery tone the book possesses. Books teach lessons
and they show readers that problems either need to be fixed or one needs to come up with a better
solution. Books can be a great way to introduce children to real world situations without putting
them in stressful or unstable situations.

Truck Drivers Research Paper
Nearly everything you see in stores and even in your home was, at some point, transported
overland by a truck. Tractor trailer rigs in particular, haul cargo over longer distances than those
covered by local delivery trucks. Because of this, they carry much heavier loads and can weigh up
to 80,000 pounds. This makes them 20 to 30 times heavier than the average car.
Truck drivers must obey the same traffic rules as other vehicles on the road and like many
motorists, their negligence can cause an accident. However, in a tractor trailer accident, the result
can be devastating to the occupants of the other vehicle. Their overwhelming size and weight can
completely demolish smaller vehicles. This is why so many federal regulations specifically ... Show

Truck drivers with multiple traffic violations and tractor trailer accidents on their driving record
are somehow able to get rehired several times. These types of drivers rarely improve their records
because of their dangerous driving habits. Habits are notoriously difficult to change.
Trucking carriers are increasingly hiring inexperienced drivers because of the current driver
shortage. Most of the experienced drivers are retiring, which means a dangerously large percentage
of truck drivers on the road today have minimal experience.
Distracted Driving
Truck drivers are distracted by many of the same things as the ordinary motorist. These include cell
phone conversations, texting, GPS programming, mobile app use, eating, daydreaming, reaching
for objects, and other distractions both inside and outside of the truck.
Fatigue
Federally mandated hours of service rules directed at ensuring that truck drivers get their rest,
such as placing maximum time limits on continuous driving, do not necessarily keep fatigued
drivers off the road. Drivers may fail to get a good night s rest or knowingly violate regulations in
order to meet their schedules. Fatigue can impair driving as severely as intoxication, and in

When you join the military, work for the government, or government contractors, you give up
some of your rights and freedoms. If you are entrusted with security clearances and access to
classified materials, you give up even more rights and freedoms. These rights and freedoms are
not taken from you. You voluntarily give them up. If you violate the trust put into you, you
deserve any and all punishment that comes your way, no matter how noble your ego makes you
think the cause is. (Bella, 2013). Author here states Snowden could have walked away from his
job or the government if he did not like what he did for them. Company paid him well above
$200K a year and put in a great amount of trust in him. Author sees it as if someone puts a trust or
discloses classified information then the person voluntarily gives up his or her right of freedom of
speech. Being smart in a field and using the knowledge to help country get stronger is a good
thing, but being childish and disclose classified information to public is a big deal for the author.

Postoperative endopthalmitis is one of the most devastating complications of cataract surgery.
Despite of the great progress in the lines of treatment of this serious condition, the visual results
are still poor and about 40% of cases sustain severe visual loss (corrected distance visual acuity of

force to get rebels to conform is also seen in this poem: the doctors...bore a hole through his head,

Cutting a hole through someone s head is cruel, vicious, and animalistic, but it seems to be a
perfectly normal thing to do in the eyes of the combine. And as if that is not enough, after
evoking the horrible image of Hard Rock s brain being torn out of his head, whatever is left is
put through shock therapy. Not even Hard Rock could endure that without taking a visual toll.
And that toll turns out to be his conformity to society. He now is as docile as an everyday toddler
with the IQ similar to a vegetable. What was once a towering man that intimidates yet commands
the respect of the entire prison, is now reduced to a peaceful giant who takes exactly 3 minutes to

The Importance Of Socialization In Ancient Roman Society
The biggest and most indicative social activity in ancient Roman society was that of gladiatorial
combat, and all of the additional components that went along with it. Roman s of all ages,
backgrounds, and social classes spent an exorbitant amount of time observing and enjoying this
brutal pastime. For many, especially historians that hold Romein high regard, it s hard to believe
that these games were such a critical and pervasive component of Roman social life. To historians
the games are scandalous, a monstrous phenomenon, a morass or hatred and sadomasochism,
(Meijer, pp. 2). The evolution of the games from their beginning in roughly 27 BC (Meijer, pp.

Although Rome was an incredibly successful and wealthy society at it s peak, it was also
plagued by extreme levels of stratification and class conflict. Everybody had their place in society
whether that was a political member of the aristocracy, a regular plebeian farmer, or even a slave.
The Roman Empire went to great lengths to maintain these class divisions. Although many saw the
Roman colosseum as a symbol of unity, even this wasn t free of class division. In the lowest row
of seats, on a raised platform (podium) 4 metres above the arena, sat most prominent Romans,
often dressed in white togas. The emperor had the best seat of all in a kind of box (pulvinar) in
the first row at the centre of one of the longer sides of the arena, (Meijer, pp. 105). Although this
class structure was understood by Roman citizens, it wasn t always abided by. The common people
and Gladiators alike did have instances of revolution and revolt. In 73 BC, Spartacus the Gladiator
led a relatively successful gladiator/slave revolt, eighty gladiators escaped. The escape plan has
been attributed to three men, Spartacus, Crixus and Oenomaus, (Meijer, pp. 31). Although they did
ultimately meet their death, this instance illustrated the dissatisfaction of some Gladiators with the
class system they found themselves in. On the other hand if we

How Did The Battle Of Gettysburg Changed America
Gettysburg is beyond significance in so many ways that have changed America. The Battle of
Gettysburg was fought in July 1863 where the Confederate army led by General Robert E Lee
invaded the north of the Potomac river and declared war on the Union which was under the
command of Major General George G. Meade. There was as much as 70,100 men who fought with
The Confederate Army of North Virginia and about 93,700 men who fought with the other side
which was The Federal Army of the Potomac/Union. The Battle ended with the victory of the Union
but sadly during the war there fell around 50,000 casualties.
The Battle of Gettysburg was truly one of the bloodiest battles, but was a major turning point in the
Civil War, which made sure of the

The Relationship Between Osteoporosis And Osteoporosis
Osteoporosis, also known as porous bone, is a disease characterized by low bone mass and
structural deterioration of bone tissue which leads to bone fragility and an increased risks of the
hip, spine, and wrist. Both men and women are affected by this (although it affects women more)
but it can be prevented and treated. In the United States, more than 40 million people either already
have osteoporosisor at a high risk because of low bonemass.
Sir Astley Paston Cooper was a famous English physician, anatomist, and surgeon who first
discovered the association between fractures and bone density reduction because of aging which
created the base for discovering Osteoporosis. Another person who helped with the discovery of
osteoporosis was Jean Lobstein. Around 1833, Lobstein was the first person to medically describe
the pathological condition and appearance of Osteoporosis. He described the condition as, One
with holes in the bone associated with fragility . He was also the one who named the disease.
Another important discovery of the disease is the relationship between osteoporosis with the
postmenopausal state, which was discovered by Fuller Albright. Albright discovered that there is a
direct relationship between the lack of estrogen after menopause and the development of
osteoporosis. After menopause, bone breakdown outrun the building of new bone. Early
menopause, usually before the age of 45, and any prolonged period in which hormone levels are
low and menstrual

Compare And Contrast Love And Hate
Love Hate I never understood what people meant when they d say there s a fine line between

antonyms, opposites, are so similar at the same time. After living a little and doing much research I

Social Stratification And Gender, Ethnicity, And General...
Historically, different physiological traits have correlated to specific allotments of form of capital
and therefore, to the social stratification system. Particularly, traits like gender, ethnicity, and
general attractiveness are all determinants to an person being socially stratified in a cohort. Social
stratification is a placement into a social position that can offer a spectrum of social effects. These
effects are generally considered positive, if the individual has a higher placement on the social
totem pole and considered negative with a corresponding lower placement. Utilizing Bourdieu s
popular model on forms of capital is conducive to a thorough understanding of how gender,

These social classifications are directly related with the allotment and creation of forms of
capital (Wells, 2008). In examining the the traits that have an effect on distribution of forms of
capital, race and ethnicity are among the most important in demonstrating the disparity in
society. Racial and ethnic minorities are subject to an automatic low social stratification out of
the gate (Chua, Mathews, and Loh, 2016). In developing an understanding of how these
designations get put into effect, noting the differences in terms of social capital is useful.
Racial and ethnic minorities due to a socially perceived inferiority, start with lower amounts of
social capital (Wells, 2008). Social capital is responsible for determining which social
connections one has and the interpersonal relations they can draw resources from (Chandler and
Munday, 2011). This form of capital is generally not allotted to an individual, rather to a group
or subsection of society inherently. In terms of ethnic minorities, social capital can be low,
which can play a role in access to other forms of capital. For instance those belonging to a group
characterized by high levels of influence, are likely to make contacts with those in a similar
social standing. This results in a higher likelihood that those people would be able to acquire
work in the same field. So if the individual is part of a sub section that is graced with large

The darkest times of our nation surrounded two major happenings. The initial occurrence was the
institution of slavery. Second, the struggle for civil rights has plagued our country even through
today. Texas has been a key state in each of these events. Research of the civil rights movement
further illustrates Texasinvolvement. Key figures, legislation, and issues revealed through research
further exemplify the Texas involvement in the civil rights struggle for African Americans and
Latinos. The fight for civil rights in Texas expanded across social, political, and even religious lines.

The initial incident leading to the case took place at The University of Texas Law School. Herman
Sweatt registered in 1946 to no avail. The postal worker, with the assistance of the NAACP,
managed to reach the United States Supreme Court with the case. By 1950 the court reached a
decision in favor of Herman Sweatt. Despite the victory, it was only a small step toward the
complete integration of public schools. (Morris)
Education
Due to the civil rights battle in Texas, the face of politics was reformed. An era of conservatism
was initiated within Texas politics. Previously, Democrats occupied all major state offices. By
1950 the momentum shifted. Allan Shiver s governor election initiated the change. The change
reached the presidency. Eisenhower became only the second Republican president to win the state
s Electoral College at the time. (Morris) Lyndon B. Johnson became a figure of interest during the
civil rights era. He was considered to be a progressive, often considered to be reminiscent of
Lincoln. (Orozco) Following the untimely death of President John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson
inherited office becoming the 36th president of the United States. From January 1965 to April 1968
Johnson implemented more legislation in regards to civil rights than any other president past or
present. (Guglielmo) The most notable laws passed by Johnson were enacted in 1957, 1960, and

Examples Of Alice In Wonderland Identity
In the beginning half of the novel, identity is a crucial theme. Through Alice s experiences in
Wonderland, she gradually gains empowering intuition and self appreciation in order to embrace
her own identity. Throughout Alice adventures, she is asked to identify herself by several of the
characters in Wonderland, and often she is impotent to respond. Alice usually feels that she is too
tall, or too small to be herself, or that she is another person altogether, I must have been changed
for Mabel! (Carroll 20). Since Alice s Adventures in Wonderland is a book meant for children and
that has been popular among children, there seems to be some evidence that children can relate to
Alice s character since they are facing the same challenges and issues regarding developing a
rational view of the macrocosm and establishing their own identity.... Show more content on

In her dream, she went through a rabbit hole and later on found herself locked in a hall with

these chapters present a theme that as children s physical body changes during the puberty stage,
they become upset. When they become adolescents, they become childish, as if they want to
return to childhood. The theme presents an irony where children want to grow but when their
physical body changes, they are not comfortable, and when they grow to puberty, they act like a
child. For instance, she was worried about her feet and how she could put her stockings and

The Importance Of Sustainable Water Practices For The...
Sustainability is the development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the
ability of future generations to meet their own needs (World Commission on Environment and
Development, 1987). Water is a principal compound for human life across the globe. Although there
is of 1.4Г—109 km3 of Water on Earth, only 0.37% of that is drinkable (Murphy, 2004). The
inability to access this clean water then causes water borne diseases, particularly in poorer nations,
such as Cambodia where only 14% of the population has access to drinkable water (Brinkley,
2011). This is then the reasoning behind the 3.4million deaths annually by water borne diseases
within the developing world (World Health organisation, 2001). As 70L of water/day... Show more

2BIO SAND FILTERS
2.1 Design
There are seven components to a biosand filter design. These are; the lid, diffuser, sand layer,
outlet tube, filter body, gravel layer and the separated gravel layer (Cawst, 2009). All of these
components all contribute to the purification of water. The purpose of the lid is to protect the
water from any external contamination. The diffuser is a plastic sheet with holes drilled into it
and protects the biolayer while the water is being poured in (CDC, 2014). This is achieved
through slowing down the rate of the water. The third component is the sand layer and this
removes any suspended solids within the water. This is able to occur through the use of
mechanical trapping and the solids being trapped in between the grains of sand (Cawst, 2009).
The separating gravel layer is purely placed in the filter to support the sand layer on top while the
drainage gravel layer s purpose is to support the flow of water into the outlet tube. The use of
bigger rocks is used for this drainage layer to prevent smaller rocks accessing this outlet tube
(Cawst, 2009). The outlet tube brings the water from the bottom of the

How to Write an Editorial Essay
At one time the term editorial indicated that the editorial=s message was indeed a message from
the editor. Today the editorial in professional journals also serves other functions. Many editorials
are concise critical reviews of scientific topics, particularly topics that represent recent
developments. The editorial may also be used for comment on an original paper published in the
same issue. The commentary may critically assess the paper for its scientific validity, may disagree
with the interpretation of the data reported, may put the paper=s contribution into perspective with
other very recently reported findings that could not be taken into account when the paper was

The length of an editorial, the number of paragraphs, depend on how complex a problem it
considers, the amount of evidence it examines, and the number of possible answers. Some editorials
may consist of only one paragraph and yet carry the main elements of argument in their natural
sequence.
The opening paragraph states the first element of the argument: The problem or Question=. Most
readers will need more than a simple statement of the problem. Experts on the subject will know
what new events or new knowledge led to awareness that a problem needs an answer, but most
editorials are not written for a small number of experts. The question of how much background
information to include in the lead in to the statement of the problem is probably best answered as
it is for the Introduction to a research paper. The editorialist should assume that readers know less
than he does about the topic of the editorial but are well informed on the larger subject field within
which the topic lies. The author of an editorial on the usefulness of laparotomy in staging
Hodgkin=s disease should assume that the reader knows less than experts experienced with this
use of laparotomy but is well informed in general on recent developments in Hodgkin=s disease
and knows the meaning of laparotomy= and of staging=. The editorialist can then open the editorial
with a brief summary of the not entirely satisfactory of the methods for staging or with a summary
of the current controversy

Song Of Roland Analysis
In Song of Roland, the ideas of chivalry and loyalty to one s king are central. Throughout the text,
the author uses the concepts of good versus evil, shown by the Christians versus Muslims, as well
as loyalty versus treason, shown by Roland versus Ganelon, to highlight and exemplify the ideals of
the code of knighthood. The main character, Roland, is often presented as being an exemplary knight
; he personifies the conventional chivalric values of the time such as bravery and loyalty, but he
also struggles to balance these values in order to be a responsible leader. Roland is in stark
contrast to his stepfather, Ganelon, as well as being in slight contrast to his close friend, Oliver.
These contrasts of character come to a climax as the battle against the Muslim army at
Roncesvalles begins; Oliver and Roland debate over whether they should call the king to help
them, leading to the eventual demise of the French army. This specific scene brings to light the
ideological dilemma of bravery versus wisdom and logic, by utilizing Roland as an example of
the former, and Oliver of the latter. Roland, as evidenced by this situation, displays perfect loyalty
to one s king and God by being incredibly brave in the face of danger, making sacrifices that he
sees are necessary, and fought valiantly until his death, all the while keeping the utmost faith in his
God and king.
Throughout Song of Roland, Roland often puts himself in extreme amounts of danger, without
fear of the consequences for himself or others; he was often brave even to the point of excess. In
his bravery, he often overlooks the concerns and feelings of others, even those of his closest
companions. For example, from the beginning of the battle with the Muslims it was quite obvious
that the small rear guard led by Roland had no chance of victory; they were just too small. When
Oliver suggests using the oliphant to call King Charlemagne s aid, Roland refuses, saying [m]ay it
never please god that my kin should be shamed because of me, or that sweet France should fall
into disgrace. Never! Never! I ll strike with Durendal, I ll strike with this good sword strapped to
my side, you ll see this blade running its whole length with blood (1,062 1,067). While

The list of depression sub types can continue but the aforementioned categories are ones that are
diagnosed from most to least frequently among cases.
Causes
There are several factors that may contribute to depression and depending on the individual can
be rooted from a single or multiple reasons. If one has a family history of the illness it increases
the likelihood to develop it along with environmental influences that also aid in its progress (CITE
2). Also biological issues such as neurotransmitter imbalances in the brain can contribute to
depression, for example at the pre and post synapse of a neuronal cell (CITE 2). A pattern of
pessimistic thoughts and low self esteem can proliferate the illness, as a study conducted exhibited
that affected individuals did not improve perceptions of their depression even after a
neurotransmitter imbalance explanation (CITE 4).
Gender also plays a role as depression and its symptoms have been observed in women more than
in men particularly beginning from adolescence until their mid fifties (CITE 5). It can also occur
in conjunction with other illnesses such as cancer, Parkinson s disease, Multiple Sclerosis,
Alzheimer s disease and heart disease (CITE 2). Lastly the mental disorder can also be triggered
by tough life events endured by an individual for instance passing of a loved one, relationship or
financial hardships can contribute

As a manager it is my responsibility to create solutions and out of the box ideas to appeal to my
customer base and I am very skilled at doing that. While at the University of Cincinnati, I
graduated with a degree in communications with concentrations in Public Relations and Mass
Communication, which has given me superior written and verbal communication skills. Parts of
my managerial duties are to process invoices, track budgets, and I have experience with
negotiation. I am also proficient in identifying trends and being a graduate in 2012 I am

Margherita Dolce Vita Summary
In the story, Margherita Dolce Vita, there is an adolescent named Angelo. Angelo is a mysterious
character that does not show up often in the book. When he does show up, he is mostly with his
new neighbor, Margherita. He acts differently than one might call a normal person. Angelo could be
experiencing schizophreniabased off of symptoms he expresses in the story Margherita Dolce
Vita. However since he is mostly with Margherita, someone he likes more than a friend, it is hard
to tell what the evidence points towards. According to, The National Institute of Mental
Health(NIMH), schizophrenia is defined as a chronic and severe mental disorder that affects the
person mentally, physically and behaviorally. Even though it is not common, it is possible for
children(15 and younger) to have schizophrenia. It is more common for people to start showing
symptoms from between 16 and 30 years of age. There are three kinds of symptoms, of which are
in their own groups. There are positive symptoms which are psychotic behaviors not generally seen
in healthy people. People affected by positive symptoms may not have a strong sense of what is
reality or not reality. The symptoms include hallucinations, delusions, thought process (atypical
thinking), and movement disorders. There are also negative symptoms, which are associated with
disruptions in behavior and emotions. These symptoms include flat affect(reduced expressions),
reduced feelings of pleasure in regular life, and reduced

Age Of Enlightenment In Frankenstein
Frankenstein In the gothic novel of Frankenstein by Mary Shelley published in 1818, a story of a
man s willful scientific creation of a monster comes to life. As the Age of Enlightenment has
subsided and the result of the French Revolution is attempted to be forgotten, Shelley reveals the
struggles of the social and cultural aspects belonging to society during this time. Two main concepts
reflected upon in this novel include the struggle against societal control and the ideas of
Enlightenment. In this critical analysis, you will be introduced to the connection between
Frankenstein and the era s issue of societal control as the movement away from Enlightenment
progresses. Well, what is the Age of Enlightenment? The Age of Enlightenment was seen as the age
of intellectual movement. It took place over approximately 150 years in Europe, ending with the
French Revolutionjust twenty nine years or so before Mary Shelley s Frankenstein. The period
guided reason as a means of instituting ethics, aesthetics, government, and religion or anti religion.
Thinkers of this era believed its ideas would lead humankind out of the suffering brought on by
religion and religious wars. Thus, a decline of the church and incline of scientific thought and
reason was characteristic of The Enlightenment. Though liberalismand democracy were positive
components outlined by Enlightenment, racism, fascism, and communism were some of the many
consequences that led human kind to somewhat

Ancient Egyptian Royalty And The Pantheon Of Gods Essay
When asked to describe Ancient Egypt, many will speak of towering pyramids, glittering
sarcophaguses, and fist sized scarab pendants. However, the image of Ancient Egypt that most
have learned has one glaring flaw: it inordinately focuses on the lives of the social elite. The
descriptions given seldom mention the stories of merchants, artisans, or slaves; they are solely
focused on exploring the lives of the Egyptian royalty and the pantheon of gods that they
worshipped. The social disparity in the study of Ancient Egyptis not the fault of professors,
textbooks, or the field of education in general; rather, it is indicative of the deep social divides
which were omnipresent in Egyptian society from its initiation. In Western Civilizations: Volume
One, the authors confirm the rigid socioeconomic class system of this era: The social pyramid of
Old Kingdom Egypt was extremely steep. At its apex stood the Pharaoh and his extended family,
whose prestige and power set them entirely apart from all other Egyptians. This strict social
structure pursued the Egyptian consciousness, even in death. The Book of the Dead, a collection of
spells and incantations to aid a deceased person through the afterlife, contains ample evidence that
social classfollowed Egyptian citizens past their mortal existence. In my brief study of Ancient
Egypt, I have found evidence in The Book of the Dead to support the claims made by Dr. Symes
that Ancient Egyptian society followed a strict social caste

Impact of Multiple Generations in the Workplace Essay...
SUBJECT: An analysis of two articles about the impact of multiple generations on the workplace
With every generation comes a lifestyle with unique ideas, values and language. Accounting Today
recognizes the importance of generations and their effects on the business field in its articles
Bridging the Gaps by Jennifer Wilson and The Way We Learn Now, by Jennifer Wilson and Krista
Remer. This memo summarizes these articles, analyzes the formation of each generation, and
identifies advantages of a multigenerational workplace. Summaries of the Articles Bridging the
Gaps began by defining the three most dominant generations in the workforce: Baby Boomers
(those born between 1946 and 1964), Generation X (those born between 1965... Show more content

Millikan believes that when presenting new information, companies should incorporate multiple
teaching techniques in order to overcome these generational differences. Kraftchick, however,
believes that companies should communicate to their employers by switching their technique
throughout the presentation. A Personal Response to the Articles I believe Wilson makes a strong
point in Bridging the Gaps when she discusses the importance of businesses encouraging
generations to work together in areas where their preferences and beliefs overlap. If people born
in different generations blindly work together to complete assignments, odds are their differences
will cause conflict (unless this assignment involves an area in which they have similarities). These
conflicts will create friction that will sap an organization s efficiency as the groups argue their
points. By strategically matching workers with tasks that take into account their generational
similarities; these problems can often be avoided. In some cases, however, I believe
disagreements can lead to new ideas and even personal growth. Marian Millikan from The Way We
Learn Now draws an accurate conclusion when she says that to effectively teach all generations of
employees new information, it should be presented in multiple ways simultaneously. For example,
the speaker could use PowerPoint and animations to engage younger generations and also pass out
an outline of the

Organizations are preferring the access control via role management (Franqueira, V. N. L et al., 2012). With the evolving responsibilities, the system landscape is becoming more and more complex and difficult to manage and track (SAP1, 2012). With SAP NetWeaver Identity Management(IdM), we can manage identities and their authorizations centrally in both SAP and non SAP system landscapes. This comes with employee self services and SAP BusinessObjects Access Control formerly GRC (Governance, risk management, and compliance) (SAP2, 2012) integration which helps in risk detection and mitigation and makes identity management more compliant. Using NetWeaver IdM, a highly customizable framework we can provide joint authenticationfor all business processes and a single sign on as a secure identity management solution. Driving factors for implementation of Identity management include a decrease in operational cost, frequently evolving business processes with increasing complexity and inability to de provision a user completely. Many challenges come from the desire to grant single sign on access to collections of resources that might have contradictory access protection rules (Buell, D.A. et al., 2003). • 3. Compare The Reaction Between Tert-Butyl Chloride And Alkyl... The data reveals that reactions occurred in all four test tubes. This means that all four test tubes turned out to be positive reactions. The data collected regarding the reactions did not meet the expectation. The expectation was that two out of the four tubes would yield a reaction. To be specific, the expectation was that only one of the first two tubes would have a reaction, and only one of the second two tubes (tubes 3 4) would have a reaction. This was the expectation because the goal of the reactions was to verify the structure of the alkyl halides. The structure of the tert butyl chloride and chlorobutane were in question. If they reacted with NaI, it could be concluded that they were primary alkyl halides. If they reacted with AgNO3, it could be concluded that they were tertiary alkyl halides.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... AgNO3 easily undergoes reactions with tertiary alkyl halides (SN1). The four tubes should not all have undergone reactions because that would give an unclear indication whether or not the alkyl halides were primary or tertiary. Two tubes were supposed to undergo reaction and two should not have. It is likely that the error that made the extra two test tubes react was contamination. If the test tubes contained traces of both solvents, it would be possible that the alkyl halides would react in all the test tubes. This is because the alkyl halide would react with its preferred solvent, even if the solvent is present in small quantities. This contamination could have been due to using the same pipette to transfer the solvents. It also could have been possible that the test tubes used were not properly cleaned and still contained traces of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This musical is perfect as it is entirely sung, has amazing rock musicand has themes and moral issues carefully intertwine throughout the plot. However, the largest moral issue or dilemma is how popularity can negatively and positively affect the main character Jesus. The song This Jesus must Die is an excellent example of the negative side of popularity, as it shows the Romans planning to kill Jesus before he surpasses them in power. The song begins with a moderate tempo of 72bpm in a time signature of 4/4. However, the use of semibreves and the organ slows the perceived tempo, giving the score a ghostly and ominous feel (seen in bars 1 13 and figure 1 and 2). In the world today people are easily offended and some people use information to their advantage. Despite what some people might believe, there are people in America that can use uncensored information to hinder the productivity of the country to benefit themselves or another country. Censorshipis necessary to protect different groups and people. However, some things are unnecessarily censored such as books. Books are the best educator because authors usually have something more to say than the words on the page say. There are certain groups such as the Parents Against Bad Books in Schools who only see the words and meanings that are on the page (Parents Against Bad Books in Schools). For example, the book Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain was banned from certain schools because it said the word nigger in it (Witherbee). Everybody had their place in society whether that was a political member of the aristocracy, a regular plebeian farmer, or even a slave. The Roman Empire went to great lengths to maintain these class divisions. Although many saw the Roman colosseum as a symbol of unity, even this wasn t free of class division. In the lowest row of seats, on a raised platform (podium) 4 metres above the arena, sat most prominent Romans, often dressed in white togas. The emperor had the best seat of all in a kind of box (pulvinar) in the first row at the centre of one of the longer sides of the arena, (Meijer, pp. 105). Although this class structure was understood by Roman citizens, it wasn t always abided by. The common people and Gladiators alike did have instances of revolution and revolt. In 73 BC, Spartacus the Gladiator led a relatively successful gladiator/slave revolt, eighty gladiators escaped. The escape plan has been attributed to three men, Spartacus, Crixus and Oenomaus, (Meijer, pp. 31). The Relationship Between Osteoporosis And Osteoporosis Osteoporosis, also known as porous bone, is a disease characterized by low bone mass and structural deterioration of bone tissue which leads to bone fragility and an increased risks of the hip, spine, and wrist. Both men and women are affected by this (although it affects women more) but it can be prevented and treated. In the United States, more than 40 million people either already have osteoporosisor at a high risk because of low bonemass. Sir Astley Paston Cooper was a famous English physician, anatomist, and surgeon who first discovered the association between fractures and bone density reduction because of aging which created the base for discovering Osteoporosis. Another person who helped with the discovery of osteoporosis was Jean Lobstein. Around 1833, Lobstein was the first person to medically describe the pathological condition and appearance of Osteoporosis. He described the condition as, One with holes in the bone associated with fragility . He was also the one who named the disease. Another important discovery of the disease is the relationship between osteoporosis with the postmenopausal state, which was discovered by Fuller Albright. Albright discovered that there is a direct relationship between the lack of estrogen after menopause and the development of osteoporosis. After menopause, bone breakdown outrun the building of new bone. Early menopause, usually before the age of 45, and any prolonged period in which hormone levels are low and menstrual ... Historically, different physiological traits have correlated to specific allotments of form of capital and therefore, to the social stratification system. Social stratification is a placement into a social position that can offer a spectrum of social effects. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These social classifications are directly related with the allotment and creation of forms of capital (Wells, 2008). In examining the the traits that have an effect on distribution of forms of capital, race and ethnicity are among the most important in demonstrating the disparity in society. Racial and ethnic minorities are subject to an automatic low social stratification out of the gate (Chua, Mathews, and Loh, 2016). In developing an understanding of how these designations get put into effect, noting the differences in terms of social capital is useful. Racial and ethnic minorities due to a socially perceived inferiority, start with lower amounts of social capital (Wells, 2008). Social capital is responsible for determining which social connections one has and the interpersonal relations they can draw resources from (Chandler and Munday, 2011). This form of capital is generally not allotted to an individual, rather to a group or subsection of society inherently. In terms of ethnic minorities, social capital can be low, which can play a role in access to other forms of capital. For instance those belonging to a group characterized by high levels of influence, are likely to make contacts with those in a similar social standing. This results in a higher likelihood that those people would be able to acquire work in the same field. So if the individual is part of a sub section that is graced with large ... Through Alice s experiences in Wonderland, she gradually gains empowering intuition and self appreciation in order to embrace her own identity. Alice usually feels that she is too tall, or too small to be herself, or that she is another person altogether, I must have been changed for Mabel! (Carroll 20). Since Alice s Adventures in Wonderland is a book meant for children and that has been popular among children, there seems to be some evidence that children can relate to Alice s character since they are facing the same challenges and issues regarding developing a rational view of the macrocosm and establishing their own identity.... These are; the lid, diffuser, sand layer, outlet tube, filter body, gravel layer and the separated gravel layer (Cawst, 2009). All of these components all contribute to the purification of water. The purpose of the lid is to protect the water from any external contamination. The diffuser is a plastic sheet with holes drilled into it and protects the biolayer while the water is being poured in (CDC, 2014). This is achieved through slowing down the rate of the water. The third component is the sand layer and this removes any suspended solids within the water. This is able to occur through the use of mechanical trapping and the solids being trapped in between the grains of sand (Cawst, 2009). The separating gravel layer is purely placed in the filter to support the sand layer on top while the drainage gravel layer s purpose is to support the flow of water into the outlet tube. • 35. Song Of Roland Analysis In Song of Roland, the ideas of chivalry and loyalty to one s king are central. Throughout the text, the author uses the concepts of good versus evil, shown by the Christians versus Muslims, as well as loyalty versus treason, shown by Roland versus Ganelon, to highlight and exemplify the ideals of the code of knighthood. The main character, Roland, is often presented as being an exemplary knight ; he personifies the conventional chivalric values of the time such as bravery and loyalty, but he also struggles to balance these values in order to be a responsible leader. Roland is in stark contrast to his stepfather, Ganelon, as well as being in slight contrast to his close friend, Oliver. These contrasts of character come to a climax as the battle against the Muslim army at Roncesvalles begins; Oliver and Roland debate over whether they should call the king to help them, leading to the eventual demise of the French army. This specific scene brings to light the ideological dilemma of bravery versus wisdom and logic, by utilizing Roland as an example of the former, and Oliver of the latter. Roland, as evidenced by this situation, displays perfect loyalty to one s king and God by being incredibly brave in the face of danger, making sacrifices that he sees are necessary, and fought valiantly until his death, all the while keeping the utmost faith in his God and king. Throughout Song of Roland, Roland often puts himself in extreme amounts of danger, without fear of the consequences for himself or others; he was often brave even to the point of excess. In his bravery, he often overlooks the concerns and feelings of others, even those of his closest companions. For example, from the beginning of the battle with the Muslims it was quite obvious that the small rear guard led by Roland had no chance of victory; they were just too small. When Oliver suggests using the oliphant to call King Charlemagne s aid, Roland refuses, saying [m]ay it never please god that my kin should be shamed because of me, or that sweet France should fall into disgrace. • 43. Age Of Enlightenment In Frankenstein Frankenstein In the gothic novel of Frankenstein by Mary Shelley published in 1818, a story of a man s willful scientific creation of a monster comes to life. As the Age of Enlightenment has subsided and the result of the French Revolution is attempted to be forgotten, Shelley reveals the struggles of the social and cultural aspects belonging to society during this time. Two main concepts reflected upon in this novel include the struggle against societal control and the ideas of Enlightenment. In this critical analysis, you will be introduced to the connection between Frankenstein and the era s issue of societal control as the movement away from Enlightenment progresses. Well, what is the Age of Enlightenment? The Age of Enlightenment was seen as the age of intellectual movement. It took place over approximately 150 years in Europe, ending with the French Revolutionjust twenty nine years or so before Mary Shelley s Frankenstein. The period guided reason as a means of instituting ethics, aesthetics, government, and religion or anti religion. Thinkers of this era believed its ideas would lead humankind out of the suffering brought on by religion and religious wars. Thus, a decline of the church and incline of scientific thought and reason was characteristic of The Enlightenment. Though liberalismand democracy were positive components outlined by Enlightenment, racism, fascism, and communism were some of the many consequences that led human kind to somewhat ... • 44. Ancient Egyptian Royalty And The Pantheon Of Gods Essay When asked to describe Ancient Egypt, many will speak of towering pyramids, glittering sarcophaguses, and fist sized scarab pendants. However, the image of Ancient Egypt that most have learned has one glaring flaw: it inordinately focuses on the lives of the social elite. The descriptions given seldom mention the stories of merchants, artisans, or slaves; they are solely focused on exploring the lives of the Egyptian royalty and the pantheon of gods that they worshipped. The social disparity in the study of Ancient Egyptis not the fault of professors, textbooks, or the field of education in general; rather, it is indicative of the deep social divides which were omnipresent in Egyptian society from its initiation. In Western Civilizations: Volume One, the authors confirm the rigid socioeconomic class system of this era: The social pyramid of Old Kingdom Egypt was extremely steep. At its apex stood the Pharaoh and his extended family, whose prestige and power set them entirely apart from all other Egyptians. This strict social structure pursued the Egyptian consciousness, even in death. The Book of the Dead, a collection of spells and incantations to aid a deceased person through the afterlife, contains ample evidence that social classfollowed Egyptian citizens past their mortal existence. In my brief study of Ancient Egypt, I have found evidence in The Book of the Dead to support the claims made by Dr. Symes that Ancient Egyptian society followed a strict social caste ... • 45. Impact of Multiple Generations in the Workplace Essay... SUBJECT: An analysis of two articles about the impact of multiple generations on the workplace With every generation comes a lifestyle with unique ideas, values and language. Accounting Today recognizes the importance of generations and their effects on the business field in its articles Bridging the Gaps by Jennifer Wilson and The Way We Learn Now, by Jennifer Wilson and Krista Remer. This memo summarizes these articles, analyzes the formation of each generation, and identifies advantages of a multigenerational workplace. Summaries of the Articles Bridging the Gaps began by defining the three most dominant generations in the workforce: Baby Boomers (those born between 1946 and 1964), Generation X (those born between 1965... Millikan believes that when presenting new information, companies should incorporate multiple teaching techniques in order to overcome these generational differences. Kraftchick, however, believes that companies should communicate to their employers by switching their technique throughout the presentation. A Personal Response to the Articles I believe Wilson makes a strong point in Bridging the Gaps when she discusses the importance of businesses encouraging generations to work together in areas where their preferences and beliefs overlap. If people born in different generations blindly work together to complete assignments, odds are their differences will cause conflict (unless this assignment involves an area in which they have similarities). These conflicts will create friction that will sap an organization s efficiency as the groups argue their points. By strategically matching workers with tasks that take into account their generational similarities; these problems can often be avoided. In some cases, however, I believe disagreements can lead to new ideas and even personal growth. Marian Millikan from The Way We Learn Now draws an accurate conclusion when she says that to effectively teach all generations of employees new information, it should be presented in multiple ways simultaneously. For example, the speaker could use PowerPoint and animations to engage younger generations and also pass out an outline of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
