the chance to see what his community would be like without him.
And so it is for Steve Rock. Without his yeoman s efforts on behalf of the Variety
Club Camp and Development Center, the children with disabilities that it has served
for years would have missed many new learning experiences. For example, there
would be no opportunity for the children of the Greater Phoenixville Area who attend
the camp s programs to learn and grow from the thriving, organically driven vegetable
producing machine that Steve has created. There would be no opportunity for the
children to learn how to plant, tend, and harvest food from the garden. There would
be no opportunity for the children to learn about the benefits of greenhouse
gardening. There would be no opportunity for children to learn how an aquaponics

the behavior of various species. In his essay, Origin of the Moral Sense Charles
Darwin uses his theory of evolution to explain the origin of moralitythrough the study
of animals, specifically mammals. Darwin s main theory of the Origin of the Moral
Sense is that humans have natural social instincts which in turn gives them a sense of
naturally occurring morality. Darwin s ideas surrounding morality and a natural
social instinct have been echoed and added to by philosophers, almost a century
later, David Barash and Robert Trivers.
