Essay Family Life
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Family Life" is a task that encompasses a myriad of
emotions, experiences, and societal nuances. The difficulty arises not only from the vastness of
the topic but also from the deeply personal nature of family dynamics. Attempting to encapsulate
the multifaceted aspects of family life within the confines of an essay poses a considerable
challenge.
Family, being an intricate web of relationships, traditions, and shared history, defies simplistic
analysis. Each individual's experience within a family unit is unique, shaped by cultural
backgrounds, values, and personal narratives. Juggling these diverse elements to provide a
comprehensive yet concise overview requires a delicate balance of empathy, insight, and
analytical prowess.
Moreover, the dynamic nature of family life makes it challenging to pin down universal truths.
What holds true for one family may not necessarily apply to another, making it necessary to
navigate through the labyrinth of subjectivity with finesse. Tackling sensitive issues such as
conflicts, generational gaps, and evolving societal norms further complicates the writing process,
demanding a nuanced understanding and careful articulation.
To delve into the intricacies of family life also necessitates a deep dive into psychological,
sociological, and anthropological perspectives. Understanding the evolving nature of familial
relationships and their impact on individuals and society adds another layer of complexity to the
task at hand. One must weave together theories, personal anecdotes, and empirical evidence to
create a tapestry that captures the essence of family life.
In conclusion, writing an essay on "Family Life" requires more than just literary skills; it demands
a profound understanding of human relationships, societal dynamics, and the ability to navigate
through the intricacies of personal experiences. It is a challenge that invites introspection,
empathy, and a keen awareness of the diverse facets that constitute the concept of family.

Francisco Goya May 3 1808
Francisco Goya s The Executions of May 3, 1808, is a remarkably interesting
piece of art. This piece represents a protest against the Napoleon Occupational
Army in Madrid. There are various visual elements and design principles in the art,
which will be covered. The beginning of this ILO will contain the visual elements
first, followed by the design principles, and what they mean in the artwork. In
Goya s art, we can see the primary, visual element of lines. Lines represent motion,
dynamics, and direction. The soldiers are aiming their rifles at a group of prisoners
waiting for execution. Horizontal lines indicate a peaceful scene, however, in this
case, it would be appropriate to say they mean a sense of destruction or death, as
the title of the art depicts. As the view follows the direction of the lines, the viewer
is immediately drawn to the man with the bright white shirt. The values of the piece
are relatively dark and morbid, however, when we look at the man with the white
shirt, we can see the opposite effect of the bright white shirt. Going back to the
element of lines, once the viewer looks at the man with the white shirt, you can see
his hands are in a diagonal position. These diagonal lines represent dynamics and
tension. The pressure comes from the imminent execution of that man.

We must also deduce whether the balance is symmetrical or asymmetrical. If one
splits the painting in half, one can see it is not completely balanced. You have more
weight on the right hand side than you do on the left. However, regarding art, it is
balanced. Even though there are more objects on the right, the values of the bright
white shirt give it a sense of equal distribution. This uneven, yet balanced proportion
of the art tells the viewer that it is asymmetrical. It is asymmetrical because it is
unequally distributed, yet it is still
Population Aging In The United States
The world population is growing older; it is going to have an enormous impact on
public and private interests. Between 2012 2050, the United States will experience
considerable growth in its more elderly population. The US Census project that by
the year 2030 the population of individuals aged 65 and over will be reached
approximately 73 billion. It generates social and economic difficulties such as the
tendency of economic growth, the workforce, health care system, immigration, and
pension system (Ortman et al). Populationagingis present in every country both
developed and developing country; people are living longer than their previous
generations. In 2012, the United States had the largest number of people in the oldest
old agecategory among developed countries (Ortman et al). Much of this aging is due
to the United States is facing the effect of the retirement of the baby boomers. This
generation has been completely active in the businesses and the economic growth.
However, the development of science and technology will help the balance of the
impact of changing demographics.

This rapidly aging population indicate that countries will count with less working
age people in their economy. The private sector tends to discriminate people over
50 which limits their participation in the labor force affecting the economy of
countries. Businesses will soon have little choice but to be more attentive to the
needs and capacities of older employees; their ability to adapt could become a
source of competitive advantage. (Bloom et al). A huge transition is coming, and we
have to be prepared to deal with those
Guitar Recital Performance
In the Guitar Recital performed by Western Illinois University jazz band members, I
felt it was another great performance. Understanding the last concert was amazing, I
was confident that this show would not disappoint. H was located in COFAC recital

that the performers gave the audience a good bright sound of how jazzguitar is
played. There were multiple musical piece performed that were good selections by
the band. One of the songs that was very well displayed was Christmas Time is Here
. With this song came a well performed solo from pianist Matt Goodwin. He did a
fine job appealing to the crowd s holiday spirit, seeing that the holiday season

Florence Gith Joyner Analysis
Sometime in the summer, a silver bearded prophet came to my house. He discerned
pain here, he said, staring into my mother s eyes. The prophet held her hands and
spoke softly until she told him about her nightmares, about how she was a Christian
woman but lived in pain and slept without peace. Strolling into the living room, the
prophet laid a stack of cards across the coffee table. These intuited the sources and
meanings of dreams, he said as we sat on the couch. He arranged the cards in a way
that made my mother cry. For Satan roamed free through the house, the cards showed,
through the witchcraft in the books.
We didn t read Harry Potter, Mom replied.
But there s where so many Christians were fooled, the prophet said. I remember

I forgot about the books I had hidden. Every day, I did my homework mechanically.
I went to bed on time. Then, I read every book I had left three times or more. I
memorized The Hollow Men before I knew what it meant. I can still recite the
biography of Florence Griffith Joyner. I still know every short story written and
illustrated by Joni Eareckson Tada.
When I finally cleaned my room, I found Heir Apparent. I stared at it for a while, in
its hiding spot. I held it to my chest and smelled the pages. I decided to relocate it to
my bed so I could read it later that night, which is when I found the two Artemis Fowl
books. I read all three, cover to cover, overnight. Then, I returned them to their
hiding places. I did this at least once a week until my mother forgot what those
books were about, and then I placed them in the science section of my library. My
mother says she has not had a nightmare since.
The prophet died the year that I went to college. After that, my mother forgot why
she, as she remembers, banned the Narnia books. A giant version of all seven books
in the series sits on the coffee table in our new house. My sisters read it, but I have
not. I haven t re read anything that
Technology s Impact On Technology And The Impact Of...
The Impact of Technology
Computers, laptops, cellphones, and eventually artificial intelligence? Technology
has sure been advancing rapidly, and will continue to advance for years to come.
Think about all of the tasks that once required a trip to the library that can now easily
be done with a computer. Google s search engine, for instance, significantly simplifies
research you simply enter what you want, and the engine spews out the relevant
information. But the harmful effects are plentiful as well. Nicholas Carr addresses
popular concerns in Is Google Making Us Stupid, arguing that technology is molding
the human brain into an efficiency prioritizing machine, one less flexible, less artistic
than the human mind. Although technology inspires artists and informs authors, it is
mostly making people stupid, for it encourages a skimming mentality and cultivates
impatience.
Before revealing technology s harmful effects, it is important to address its benefits.
Proponents of technology argue of its importance in artistic inspiration. For instance,
websites like Soundcloud, Youtube, and deviantArt allow users to share
accomplishments, and many young artists are guided by the social media of
successful artists. While it is true that the internet inspires artists, it is equally true
that it limits them creatively. Commercialism creeps throughout the internet
community music, art, and film must all be popular enough to make a profit. Many
young minds are robbed of their individual
Persuasive Essay About Undocumented Immigrants
My Uncle risked his life crossing the border, his family, and his future. But he was
determined to be with the love of his life, my aunt, no matter how risky it was. He
was terrified, no other emotion was coursing through his mind. He just wanted to
make it there, and he did. He got lucky, unlike many other undocumented immigrants
who cross the border. and they are labeled dangerous and should be evacuated as if
they are investing our country. But like my uncle, they are coming here for a better
opportunity, because they believe in America. They believe in us, so why should we
not believe in them? Undocumented immigrants should be able to stay in America,
any age, and have a chance to get legal without complications. Because Immigrants
are an improvement to our country, we are all immigrants, immigrants are as much
of a person as born Americans are. Letting undocumented Immigrants stay in our
country, isn t just a plus for them, it s a plus for us. They are rising our population,
and they help our economy, a lot! Many people, including the president, think that
immigrant workers increase labor market competition, and bring down wages for
everyone. Lucky, this is misguided, and driven into false information. Immigrants do
not take up space in employment. So they are not taking away anything from native
workers, If anything, they are providing more business for us to purchase from.
People also think that terrorist are why immigrants are judge, and they are right for
one part.
Examples Of Foreshadowing In Esmeralda Santiago
The quote I push my cart away, toward the apples and pears of my adulthood, their
nearly seedless ripeness predictable and bittersweet. , foreshadows the life of
Esmeralda as young child and how she grows into young adult taking on
responsibilities and the hardships that are involved with it. This quote also tells the
readers that her adulthood is rapidly approaching and she will soon leave behind
what she has loved for so long and become a new woman experiencing a new
adventure. Throughout the book, it is relevant that the use of foreshadowing is used.
One of the many ways Santiago does this the short poems written in the beginning of
each chapter, they can give a reader an idea of the what the chapters will be about and
the thoughts... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Esmeralda Santiago did an outstanding job creating multiple themes that brought
the book all together and gave it a deeper meaning. One theme that I felt occurred
the most often throughout the book was coming of age. But it seemed to be more
than that, what I discovered that one theme was the development of a young girl
to a woman, and also truths being revealed about yourself and finding out who you
are as a person. The author depicts this theme throughout the book my telling us
readers what Esmeralda, Negi, was thinking about a certain situation and how she
felt about it. The author also does a great job of incorporating this theme in the
memoir by showing at the end of the book how much Negi has gone through and
how she has learned and grown from the experience. The characters and settings
that are in the book are used to develop the theme by creating events in the settings
that the characters, Esmeralda and her family, have to assess, react, and learn and
develop from what happened. This is what, to me made the book so interesting
and added to depth to what the author was trying to say. The theme in the book has
definitely impacted me in some way. It made me realize that there are going to be
difficult times in my life, but you can conquer them with persistence and passion.
Also if you are perceived as small, weak, helpless, prove everyone wrong and show
them what you can do. Be the best that you can be and that is all you can do in life.
By doing so I feel as long as I try my best and never let anything get me down, I can

Hemophilia Research Paper
Hemophilia A and B are x linked disorders that cause bleeding due to the absence of
a coagulation factor, which arise from mutations in the VIII (FVIII) and IX (FIX)
factor genes1. Recent advances in the field of gene therapy have unveiled the use of
adeno associated vectors (AAV) and adenovirus vectors (Ad) to increase the levels of
expression of the VIII and IX factors, counteracting the effects of the mutation 1.
Gene transfer methods of the coagulationfactor IX using AAV has resulted in dogs
that had either sustained expression of the factor or that were completely cured from
it 2. Gene therapy using Ad has a potential to treat Hemophilia B in the neonatal
stages, but the possible leaky expression of this can lead to reduced efficiency of the
vector 3. These two methods have the potential to treat Hemophilia by gene transfer.

Mutations in this factor lead to Hemophilia B2. Two vectors AAV CMV F.IX and
AAV EIFО± F.IX were inserted into the muscle, each having a similar role2. Both
vectors were responsible for inducing the activity of the coagulation factor IXa,
which is absent in patients exhibiting Hemophilia B, and plays a crucial role in blood
clotting2. The results of this study showed that while the two vectors played similar
roles, there were important distinctions between the two that determined the AAV
CMV F.IX vector was more useful for XI factor deficiency2. A potential downfall of
using AAV was the issue of tumors being caused in animals due to the vectors2.
More studies will have to be completed to address this issue
Argumentative Essay On Smokers
As a smoker I know the dangers of smoking. From the harmful effects on the human
body, to the resulting pollution and waste; smoking is a nasty and lethal habit. We
need a smoke free world because smoking harms smokers, nonsmokers, and the
environment. Smoking is a significant problem for smokers. The problem is that
tobaccoproducts are the leading cause of preventable deaths. Did you know that 67%
of smokers perish from smokingrelated illnesses? Tobacco smoke boosts the risk
for 13 different types of cancer: lungs, esophagus, larynx, mouth, throat, kidneys,
bladder, liver, stomach, cervix, colon, rectum, and blood. Almost 70% of smokers
want to quit, and around 43% try each year. However, many smokers don t have
the know how or the willpower to kick the habit for good. Over two thirds of
smokers who quit for a short period of time will relapse and take up smoking again.
Smokers could involve themselves in behavioral therapy. Behavioral therapy involves
working with a counselor to find ways not to smoke. Together you ll find your
triggers, emotions or situations that make you want to smoke, and explore options to
get through the cravings. But the danger isn t only for smokers, secondhand smoke
can affect anyone.
Smoking pollution harms the environment. Many smokers believe smoking only
damages their health. They are ignoring the fact that their smoking is indirectly
affecting others health. Smoking causes air pollution and to some extent also pollutes
the ground; even
The Influence Of Algebra
Abstract
Modern Times has brought a wide range of systems and methods of mathematics. The
beginning of mathematics had focused on geometry and forms of mathematics, but
then during the 16th and 17th century, algebra started to be known and practiced.
Mathematics begin to get more diverse in early modern times. Throughout the history
of algebra, many mathematicians were very focused on finding solutions to problems
and different methods to carry out mathematics. In early 19th century practices makes
mathematics was based on physical variables. People were concerned with abstract
algebra with situations involving applied mathematics or physics that had expanded
to include abstract algebra. These methods and techniques were able to influence
what people do today in different areas of life. Without algebra solving complicated
equations would not be possible, or it would be more complicated than what it is

These methods and techniques were able to influence what people do today in
different areas of life. Different areas can include the art world, a lot of scientific
research, and also the daily lives of the people of the world and without algebra,
many of these things would be either impossible or close to impossible to finding the
answers that we need today (IAC Publishing, LLC, 2017).
Daily Life. Algebra in daily life allows people to calculate things quickly and
easily. Algebra allows people to figure out different prices on common objects like
food and clothing to what cellular provider is cheapest per month. People can
sometimes use algebra many times during the day and not even realize. Algebra has
made it easier for people today and allows for simple connections in life to be made

Ownership Vs Sense Of Self
Every substantial thinker has different views on the comparison between ownership
and sense of self. There are many differences found about the topic, theory, and the
sense of self identity. Jean Paul Sartre sees ownership as being Proficient in some

learning a skill.
Owning an intangible skill is important in developing a sense of self. Many
civilians long for ownership. It can begin at a very young age such as a small child

Summary:
In Mathena s insight into the story of Mary and Martha he observes, what I will call
the three C s, in Martha. This story illustrates Martha s commendable act as she
desires to serve
Christ as she wanted this meal to be her very best. Her actions are also,
condemnable , as her activity takes priority over her relationship with Christ. Lastly,
there is contempt in her heart towards Mary in her perceived poor choice.
The warning Mathena is really driving home is to the believer s posture before the
Lord, in terms of our busyness . Spiritual busyness and misplaced priorities are his ...

Analysis:
It seems that Mathena is thorough in finding his conclusion that we are created,
commanded and called to worship. I am more than intrigued as he considered,
particularly Moses, physical appearance following his mountain top experience.
One s physical appearance can be an indication of what is on the inside, especially
their face and body language. And one s countenance is a sure tell of what is deep
inside. Just as Mathena described Moses, Jesus, and
Stephan and their appearance as they were in the Lord s presence, you can see it
some believers today. I chose the word some very intentionally. I am not at all
convinced that the majority of those who name the name of Jesus have a clear
understanding of God s command and call to worship Him. When you ask many,
Why were you created? the answer usually has to do with an occupation, family,
good works, etc. In truth, there is not a clear understanding that they are created in
the image of their maker for the expressed intent to worship to their and His delight.
What I have learned:
Worship is not what I do, but who I am in the Lord.
Chapter 3: Worship s Procedure: Theology of Worship

Slavery Is An Important Part Of American History
Slavery is an important part of American history regardless of what generation you
come from. The topic may be an uncomfortable subject however there is a lot you
can learn from the experiences and the stories slaves like Harriet Jacobs tell in
Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl. There are several moments through her life that
really challenged and complimented my understanding of slaveryin American history.
The incidents that really swayed me where when she found out she was pregnant,
certain the lessons taught by her master, and her trip to Philadelphia. Harriet
Jacobs, or Linda Brent, had a relationship with her master that involved fear and
restraint. Dr. Flint, her master, was very covetous of the young slave girl refusing
to sell her to another master. Although she feared him, she could not escape him
and ultimately she let him take advantage of her. This incident in her life stuck out
to me because it showed how slave families seriously disapprove of intercourse
with their masters despite there being no consent. I had always believed that a
family would understand that because the master had forced his will on you, the
eyes of god would still see you as pure. The reaction by her grandmother to initially
shun her and say, You have disgraced your dead mother seemed very harsh. In my
opinion this incident is important for people to be aware of for the reason that
although you may feel powerless in a situation, you can never let someone impose
their will against

rum is poured on the ground to honor the spirits. One woman falls to the ground,
convulsing for a moment before she is helped back to her feet. She resumes the

An Investigation At The Occupational Health And Safety...
SUMMARY A furnace used for heat treating of small iron and steel components
exploded in the one of the research facility of a company. Hydrogen gas was used
as a catalyst during the process in order to produce a steel and iron with a bright
surface finish. During the incident, there was a new employee working in the room,
of his first time undergoing the heat treatment process without a supervision of the
experts. The main cause of the incident was due to insufficient amount of purging
before lighting the furnace, allowing the hydrogen gas to mix with oxygen gas.
Also, after further investigation carried out, there were also various factors that led
to the incident. The compliance of the research facility to the Occupational Health
and Safety legislation makes up the main body of the report. The recommendation
to the company to improve the operation also stated in this report.
INTRODUCTION Injuries and fatality are not unusual to workplace. In Australia,
although the rate of workers got injured and involved in fatalities (commonly in
construction industry), are decreasing each year, yet, it is still high to not to deny.
Based on the statistic released by Safe Work Australia [1], as at 8th August 2014,
109 Australian have been killed during working and the number is expecting to
increase by the end of this year. In fact, every 2 3 minutes, an Australian is seriously

Violence has affects individuals from all Backgrounds, Genders, and Socio
economic statuses (Women Against Abuse, 2012). Therefore, Intimate Partner
violence may and can overlaps with poverty, homelessness, and job instability that
suggestively limits victim s abilities to escape abuse (Women Against Abuse, 2012).
There is lack of housing which has widely spread poverty and high rates of
community violence (Women Against Abuse, 2012). This; of course, has resulted in
impossible difficulties for adults seeking long time and sustainable safe living
situations. These individuals who have experience Intimate Partner Violence are
likely to experience under or unemployment due to the cycle of power and control
implicated in Intimate Partner Violence dynamics (Women Against Abuse, 2012).
Unemployment rates climbed to their highest levels since the early 1980s, the
average lengths of unemployment reached its highest level since the federal
government began tracking these data in 1948 (Andrews Goodman, 2009). Intimate

Urbanization Of The 21st Century
Introduction
The 21st century is witnessing an increase of the world s population into urban
dwellers. Dramatic movement of people into major towns and cities of the world is
caused by rapid sprawl; this is observed in developed and developing countries. This
increasing recognition is inevitable; therefore the solution to urban problems depends
largely on effective planning, infrastructural management and development. Usually,
unplanned population growth is associated to population demands that supersede
infrastructure and service capacity, leading to the degradation of the environment.
Urbanization is important, but its development is effected at the expense of
deforestation, destruction of biotopes, fragmentation of ecosystems, consequently
shrinking of the open space among many other things. A cityshould be a complex
system that should entail several interactive sub systems, it should be affected by
various factors including governmental land policies, population growth,
transportation infrastructure, market behavior to mention just a few.
Land use and transportation systems are considered as the two most vital subsystems
determining the long term urban form and structure. Meanwhile, urban growth is one
of the most important topics in urban studies, and its main driving forces are
population growth and transportation development. Rapid urban growth stresses the
capacity of governments to provide adequate basic services such as road network.
Everyone has seen urban
Passing On The Gift Dan West Character Analysis
Dan West was an exceptional man and a great leader. He graduated from
Manchester College in 1917. He knew most of the students, and his classmates
remember him as a friendly and social person (Yoder 22). He enjoyed thinking
deeply about topics which greatly impacted his leadership skills and qualities. In
Passing on the Gift: The Story of Dan Westby Glee Yoder, a quotation from The
Goshen News after Dan West died stated, The Church lost a plain and simple man,
who saw in every person a divine image; his goal in leadership was to enable others
to let this image come alive (165). Dan West loved the Church of the Brethren.

He encouraged others to talk, and he listened to their opinions. In Passing on the
Gift: The Story of Dan West, Glee Yoder states, He had a knack, a way of
conveying a certain amount of support and at the same time challenging each
person to pursue his or her own thoughts (133). Dan West demonstrated this
quotation on summer with a group of campers. At a camp, Dan decided to
challenge the campers by starting a talk session called open forum where he took
a group of campers, and by the end of the discussion, every single camper wanted
to join in on the discussion. He wanted everyone to feel as though they had
something special and unique to contribute to the group. Willing to listen, Dan
allowed and encouraged each person to speak (Yoder 36, 37). He enabled others to
act, according to Kouzes and Posner s principles of leadership. Enabling others to
act requires a leader to incorporate others in a conversation and actively listen to
them. Dan West demonstrated this when he allowed every camper who wanted to
speak, speak. He wanted each camper to feel special; therefore, he involved each
one. He helped many to believe in their own worth, including the slow ones as well
as the brilliant. He encourages persons to develop their own potential in their own

Exodus
In the book of Exodus, it is about the journey of Moses and how God used him to
free the Israelites from Egypt. Moses was a Hebrew baby that was found by the
Pharaoh s daughter and was raised by them. As Moses got older, he witnessed the
cruel way an Egyptian was beating an Israelite worker. Moses intervened and ended
up killing the Egyptian. Out if fear Moses leaves Egypt and lands in Midian.
While out one day with his flock, Moses came upon a burning bush. That bush ended
up being God. This is where God asks Moses to go back to Egypt to ask the Pharaoh
to let his people go. Moses hesitates and asks God how and why him. During his
conversation with God, Moses is convinced that he must do what the ... Show more

Three positive things that this book teaches about humanity is that people can be
selfless, like the way Moses stood up for the Israelites. Also that not all people were
evil like the Pharaoh; like the midwives who didn t participate in the murders of
baby boys. The last is that the dedication and sacrifice of one man saved the lives of
thousands. The negative things this book teaches is that people are selfish, greedy,
ungrateful and cruel.

The Financial Health Of Universal Health Services
Introduction Financial Statement Analysis
This paper will provide an analysis of the financial health of Universal Health
Services (UHS). First, this paper will suggest a key insight about the financial health
of Universal Health Services, as well as my reaction to its financial statements. Next,
it will identify the current industry trend that has the most significant impact on
Universal Health Services financial performance. Furthermore, this paper will
indicate the trend s impact on the financial performance of the organization. As the
Chief Financial Officer, I will suggest at least one way that we might minimize the
impact of the trend on the organization. Also, it will suggest one key strategy that we

1). Clearly, we have a broad mission with ever growing capacity to provide
healthcare to our patients. A key insight about the financial health of UHS is that we
are performing extremely well. According to our latest financial statement, we are
ever improving our numbers. Our net revenues continually increased from
$4,900,147 in 2010, to $8,065,326 in 2014. Furthermore, our total assets grew during
this same timeframe from $7,527,936 to $8,974,443, resulting in an impressive
reduction of our percentage of total debt to total capitalization from 66% to 51%
(UHS Annual Report, 2014, p. 41). Given our investment in several new facilities in
2014, we continue to see this sustained growth in light of those investments as
impressive and an indicator of a truly a healthy organization.
Reaction to Financial Statements
I speculate that our employees, investors, and shareholders will be very pleased
with our financial health as reflected in the latest financial statement discussed
above, and react in positive ways. The employees benefit by the increase in revenue
in the form of bonus and raises, of course based on their performance. The investors
will react equally positively since we have expanded our investment portfolio by
acquiring and opening new hospitals. Similarly, our shareholders will see the return on
Personal Essay On Cheerleading
Sixteen girls, sixteen personalities. For six years I was a part of a competition
cheerleading team. After my third year of cheering, I was chosen to coach our
youth team of four to seven year old girls. Not an easy task! Sunday I would go
into the gym at twelve thirty and coach youth practice until two thirty. I would
then stay at the gym finishing homework and eat lunch. My practice began around
eight o clock and end around ten thirty. Thursday s I would arrive at the gym
around five thirty. I would coach practice then our senior 3 team would practice
after youth was done. I would go straight to practice after I m done coaching. Our
practices where about two hours for each team, and would practice two days a
week. I would be in the gym five times a week, between coaching and practicing....

The TV industry has changed a great deal. The sport programming and the overall
coverage of games has truly set a new standard for everyone who plays and loves
sports. The cameras now are showing HD images even. The direction of
professional sports has been dramatically effected by broadcast media. Howeve,
their interpretations, creation of drama and their ability to establish certain ideas for
other people about what happens in sports can not be denied. (Brown, S.P) Such was
the case for Donovan McNabb and Redskins coach Mike Shanahan after Shanahan
pulled McNabb off the field and replaced him with a white Quarterback in the final
two minutes of a game against the Detroit Lions.
As the coach, Shanahan is expected to make decisions and do what needs to be
done in order to win games. Decisions such as when to pull a player off the field
and replace him with someone else definitely fall into this category. As a starting
quarterback McNabb is suppose to be capable of doing what needs to be done in
order to win games such things would include being in shape, knowing the teams
plays and being capable to execute plays that you are given. This may also include
wearing an arm band with plays listed on them so if you have questions of which
plays are called you can check them for accuracy. McNabb had been brought to the
Redskins so they would have a chance as a winning team.

The world had shocked, his imposing and heartrending life, became the focal point

In July 1976, Israeli hostages on a plane hijacked. But they were rescued from
Uganda by the I.D.F. This was a great success in the war with terrorists. It
demonstrated that Israel refused to capitulate to terrorism. In April 1977, Yitzhak
Rabin resigned as prime minister in the wake of the revelation that his wife, Leah,
retained a bank account in the U.S. from the time her husband had served as
ambassador there. (At the time, operating a foreign currency account was illegal

1984, the national government of Israel agreed to elect Rabin as minister of
defense, until the failure of the second unity government in 1990. One of his tasks
was disengaging the I.D.F. from a war of attrition in Lebanon. The two sides of the
war established a narrow zone of security in southern Lebanon. He also canceled the
Lavi aircraft project which developed by Israel Aircraft Industries. Also, he cut off
part of the defense budget as part of efforts to help the economy and halt inflation. In
December 1987, the outburst of the Intifada (the Palestinian uprising in the occupied
territories) caught Israel by surprise. Rapidly, Israel escalated to alarming
proportions. Rabin initially adopted an iron fist policy to suppress the uprising and

The Machine that Won the War and The Story of an Hour seem quite different but

The Reoccurring Blues Music And The Blindness Of The
Book...
The reoccurring blues music plays a significant role in the blindness of the book.
In the song Nobody Knows the Trouble I ve Seen by Louis Armstrong, Louis sings
Sometimes I m up, sometimes I m down, ohh, yes Lord Sometimes I m almost to
the ground, oh yes, Lord Nobody knows the trouble I ve seen . The narrator claims
Perhaps I like Louis Armstrong because he s made poetry out of being invisible
(Ellison, 10). This statement by the narrator is ironic because the narrator is
literally being told that society is blinded to the problems African Americans are
facing every day, but he is too blinded himself to realize it. The blues singers have
been aware of this problem and are attempting to create reform through their music.
The narrator does not even begin to realize his own blindness until he is kicked out
of school and goes to work in New York. When the narrator realizes Bledsoe has
betrayed him with the Keep him running letters, his blindfold steadily begins to be
removed and he begins to understand the complexity of the society in which he lives
(Ellison, 147). Emerson, who revealed the content of the letters of recommendation ,
tells the narrator that There is no point in blinding yourself to the truth. Don t blind
yourself (Ellison, 146). Throughout his life, the narrator has been simply living as
an invisible man, refusing to face the problems he deals with on a daily basis. He is
unable to see that he has constantly been at a disadvantage and been a
Engine Management System ( Ems )
With a tougher legislation and the need for cleaner and more economical engine
operation, it has become increasingly more difficult to design an engine which can be
compatible with the new requirements. Engine Management System (EMS) is an
integrated electrical system which can achieve this by closely monitoring the
operation of an engine. It monitors and controls all the key functions of the engine
and the exhaust aftertreatment system for a cleaner, more efficient and high power
output operation. EMS controls key systems such as fuel injection, turbocharging and
exhaust gas recirculation. 1 Air subsystem Air subsystem is a key factor in
determining torque output and, engine performance. More the cylinder charged with
clean air, the higher the maximum possible engine power output. Figure 1 shows the
main components of an air subsystem: The air filter prevents particles and dust from
entering the engine in order to reduce wear in the bearings, piston rings, cylinder
walls. It also prevents higher fuel consumption and pollutant emissions which result
from particles in the engine. Then supercharging/turbocharging is utilised to increase
the power output from the engine by drawing pressurised air under force into the
cylinders thus higher air mass. This has a great effect in reducing the fuel
consumption and exhaust gas emission rates. Compressing the air by the
turbocharger, leads to excess heat which has a negative effect on cylinder charge.

Modern Day Heroes Essay
Modern day heroes can be very important. These heroes importance on americans is
that they help us, the people in many different ways like physically and mentally
/ vocally. These heroes empower common people to do better. these heroes
importance to the world is greatest, they help us to be better (and make the world
better) and learn from them. So with these three thing Modern day Heroes better our
world and we would be nothing without them.
To explain my point, The importance of modern day heroes on Americans are they
help us. In passage 1 there s a modern day hero named Betty Ford, Betty was the first
lady and she had breast cancer. Betty opened up about her cancer and told lady s to
be safe and check to to see if they are ok. Betty Ford in a way helped the people
physically by making them go to the doctor, this could have saved people they
could have caught the cancer before it was too late. According to Betty Ford: A
New Kind of First Lady Checkups increased by 300 to 400 percent . I put this
quote to show how Betty Ford is so inspiring she had womans wanted to be sure
they were alright and there s a good chance some of those people in that percent
might have had breast cancer, so Betty Ford might have just saved there life.
Modern day heroes affect Americans mentally/ vocally by speaking up and taking a
stand. In passage 2 the author spoke up about violence by involving modern day
heroes. Jonah Goldberg (THE AUTHOR) stood up for this one girl named Laura

The Bloodless Revolution Of 1800
The Bloodless Revolution of 1800 was a very important event that shaped our
nation into what it is today. The Revolution changed America s history in major
ways. The twelfth amendment was created and the party divisions that we see today
in our modern government are results of the conflict. The revolution was also a test:
could the young nation of America shift power peacefully, as the founding father s
had intended? Or would everything collapse after only one president leading the
country? The Bloodless Revolution of 1800 was an event that changed our nation s
history an ways of government in many important ways. But in order to understand
fully the whole effect this event had on our nation, we must look back a few years
before 1800 to the Neutrality Proclamation, the John Jay Treaty, X Y Z Affair, and
the Quasi War.
George Washington, in his second term of office, issued the Neutrality Proclamation
in an attempt to ease the tension and conflict with Britain caused by The French
Revolution. Thomas Jefferson, being so disgusted with Washington s policies,
resigned his secretarial position in May of 1793, when the proclamation was
announced. Despite Washington s attempt to fix the conflict, British ships continued
to confiscate American merchant ships because they, in an attempt to remain neutral,
continued to trade with both France and Britain. War soon broke out after that
between the new French Republic and the European Monarchs, much to the
Modern Feminist Theory And Modern Feminist Theory
During the 18th century, Enlightenment ideas developed a political philosophy
grounded in the idea of the individual subject. Enlightenment notions of freedom and
choice inspired women to examine their position from a theoretical perspective for
the first time. Over time, women continued to theorize about their unique position,
created as a product of their gender, and used that theory to develop feminist
politics. The purpose of feminist theory is to understand the identity of women as
an oppressed group and examine the ways in which this identity is maintained and
can be changed. It includes a re examination of established norms in society and the
multiple forms of oppression that women face. The ultimate effect of creating such a
theory is a mode of politics that improves the status of women. In this paper, I will
specifically focus on modern feminist theory and politics rooted in the 1960s wave of
feminism. Through Simone de Beauvoirs The Second Sex, I will explicate the
foundational ideas of modern feminist theory. Then I will use The Combahee River
Collective in order to show that modern feminist theory must be intersectional in
order to serve its purpose. Finally, using Angela Davis Freedom is a Constant
Struggle, I will show some of the ways that a complete feminist theory can be used to
create feminist politics, politics that involves the abolition of prisons in America and
examining global systems of oppression.
In order to provide the foundation for feminist

Educators Perceptions Of Debriefing
Educators Perceptions of Debriefing While developing and completing a simulation
experience for students is an significant role for educators, knowing how to debrief
students following a simulation has been deemed as equal if not more important
because the majority of learning occurs during this time period (Mariani, et al., 2013).
Educators have identified varying methods of debriefing, but most of them have
central themes. Most methods include some form of critique, correction, evaluation
and open discussion (Neill Wotton, 2011). It is common knowledgeamong nurse
educators that the success of debriefing depends on the facilitator and their mastery
of debriefing skills. With proper training, educators learn the key requirements...

The educators that facilitate debriefing are the ones who are most skilled in
determining what works and does not work within debriefing. Most educators will
agree that when it is time to debrief following HFS, there is an insufficient amount of
time to assess if the students will potentially transfer the information learned in the
simulation to their respective clinical rotations (Mariani, Cantrell Meakim, 2014).
Due to the fact that debriefing is such an essential activity to engage students in active
learning and developing decision making skills, educators recognize the importance
of becoming familiar with best practice for debriefing and mastering this competency.
Implications
The utilization of HFS in nursing simulation is widely supported by several nursing
governing bodies, leaders in nursing education and nursing education literature.
Implications for nurse education relate to educators recognizing HFS as an effective
student centered learning and teaching strategy. By incorporating HFS into nursing
curriculum, educators give students ample opportunities to develop and practice
skills as well as using their prior knowledge in a safe environment without

External Economies Of Scale Occur
External economies of scale occur when the cost per unit depend on the size of the
industry but not necessarily on the size of any one firm(Krugman et al,2015:179).It
also consists of potential reduction of average cost associated with higher level of
productivity. Often differences between countries and economies of creating the need
to trade, as thus economies of scale make it advantageous for each country to
specialize in the production of an only limited range of goods and services (Krugman
et al,2015).In understanding the significance of economies of scale ,Adam smith
postulates that each country could produce one or more commodities at a lower cost
than its trading partners .It then follows that each country will benefit from
specialization, this pattern of trade often reflect a created comparative advantage
meaning that a country can produce at a lower cost than the other country (Theo S et
al,2009).A large of production is more efficient, the cost per unit of outputfalls, while
the industry increases production as a result it encourages trade amongst countries.
Discuss the Role of external economies
External economies of scale occur when the cost per unit depends on the size of the
industry but not necessarily the size of an individual firm (Krugman et al, 2015)
they are most likely to arise when firms operate in the same region. External
Economies of scale often lead to industry cluster, that is, Group of similar and
related firms in a defined geographic area

Essay Family Life

  • 1. Essay Family Life Crafting an essay on the subject of "Family Life" is a task that encompasses a myriad of emotions, experiences, and societal nuances. The difficulty arises not only from the vastness of the topic but also from the deeply personal nature of family dynamics. Attempting to encapsulate the multifaceted aspects of family life within the confines of an essay poses a considerable challenge. Family, being an intricate web of relationships, traditions, and shared history, defies simplistic analysis. Each individual's experience within a family unit is unique, shaped by cultural backgrounds, values, and personal narratives. Juggling these diverse elements to provide a comprehensive yet concise overview requires a delicate balance of empathy, insight, and analytical prowess. Moreover, the dynamic nature of family life makes it challenging to pin down universal truths. What holds true for one family may not necessarily apply to another, making it necessary to navigate through the labyrinth of subjectivity with finesse. Tackling sensitive issues such as conflicts, generational gaps, and evolving societal norms further complicates the writing process, demanding a nuanced understanding and careful articulation. To delve into the intricacies of family life also necessitates a deep dive into psychological, sociological, and anthropological perspectives. Understanding the evolving nature of familial relationships and their impact on individuals and society adds another layer of complexity to the task at hand. One must weave together theories, personal anecdotes, and empirical evidence to create a tapestry that captures the essence of family life. In conclusion, writing an essay on "Family Life" requires more than just literary skills; it demands a profound understanding of human relationships, societal dynamics, and the ability to navigate through the intricacies of personal experiences. It is a challenge that invites introspection, empathy, and a keen awareness of the diverse facets that constitute the concept of family. • 2. Francisco Goya May 3 1808 Francisco Goya s The Executions of May 3, 1808, is a remarkably interesting piece of art. This piece represents a protest against the Napoleon Occupational Army in Madrid. There are various visual elements and design principles in the art, which will be covered. The beginning of this ILO will contain the visual elements first, followed by the design principles, and what they mean in the artwork. In Goya s art, we can see the primary, visual element of lines. Lines represent motion, dynamics, and direction. The soldiers are aiming their rifles at a group of prisoners waiting for execution. Horizontal lines indicate a peaceful scene, however, in this case, it would be appropriate to say they mean a sense of destruction or death, as the title of the art depicts. As the view follows the direction of the lines, the viewer is immediately drawn to the man with the bright white shirt. The values of the piece are relatively dark and morbid, however, when we look at the man with the white shirt, we can see the opposite effect of the bright white shirt. Going back to the element of lines, once the viewer looks at the man with the white shirt, you can see his hands are in a diagonal position. These diagonal lines represent dynamics and tension. The pressure comes from the imminent execution of that man. When we talk ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We must also deduce whether the balance is symmetrical or asymmetrical. If one splits the painting in half, one can see it is not completely balanced. You have more weight on the right hand side than you do on the left. However, regarding art, it is balanced. Even though there are more objects on the right, the values of the bright white shirt give it a sense of equal distribution. This uneven, yet balanced proportion of the art tells the viewer that it is asymmetrical. It is asymmetrical because it is unequally distributed, yet it is still

Between 2012 2050, the United States will experience considerable growth in its more elderly population. The US Census project that by the year 2030 the population of individuals aged 65 and over will be reached approximately 73 billion. Populationagingis present in every country both developed and developing country; people are living longer than their previous generations. In 2012, the United States had the largest number of people in the oldest old agecategory among developed countries (Ortman et al). Much of this aging is due to the United States is facing the effect of the retirement of the baby boomers. This generation has been completely active in the businesses and the economic growth. This rapidly aging population indicate that countries will count with less working age people in their economy. The private sector tends to discriminate people over 50 which limits their participation in the labor force affecting the economy of countries. Businesses will soon have little choice but to be more attentive to the needs and capacities of older employees; their ability to adapt could become a source of competitive advantage. (Bloom et al). A huge transition is coming, and we have to be prepared to deal with those
  • 4. Guitar Recital Performance In the Guitar Recital performed by Western Illinois University jazz band members, I felt it was another great performance. Understanding the last concert was amazing, I was confident that this show would not disappoint. H was located in COFAC recital hall around the time of 7:30pm. From the start of the show it was tremendous. I felt that the performers gave the audience a good bright sound of how jazzguitar is played. There were multiple musical piece performed that were good selections by the band. One of the songs that was very well displayed was Christmas Time is Here . With this song came a well performed solo from pianist Matt Goodwin. He did a fine job appealing to the crowd s holiday spirit, seeing that the holiday season

  • 6. Florence Gith Joyner Analysis Sometime in the summer, a silver bearded prophet came to my house. He discerned pain here, he said, staring into my mother s eyes. The prophet held her hands and spoke softly until she told him about her nightmares, about how she was a Christian woman but lived in pain and slept without peace. Strolling into the living room, the prophet laid a stack of cards across the coffee table. These intuited the sources and meanings of dreams, he said as we sat on the couch. He arranged the cards in a way that made my mother cry. For Satan roamed free through the house, the cards showed, through the witchcraft in the books. We didn t read Harry Potter, Mom replied. But there s where so many Christians were fooled, the prophet said. I remember leaning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I forgot about the books I had hidden. Every day, I did my homework mechanically. I went to bed on time. Then, I read every book I had left three times or more. I memorized The Hollow Men before I knew what it meant. I can still recite the biography of Florence Griffith Joyner. I still know every short story written and illustrated by Joni Eareckson Tada. When I finally cleaned my room, I found Heir Apparent. I stared at it for a while, in its hiding spot. I held it to my chest and smelled the pages. I decided to relocate it to my bed so I could read it later that night, which is when I found the two Artemis Fowl books. I read all three, cover to cover, overnight. Then, I returned them to their hiding places. I did this at least once a week until my mother forgot what those books were about, and then I placed them in the science section of my library. My mother says she has not had a nightmare since. The prophet died the year that I went to college. After that, my mother forgot why she, as she remembers, banned the Narnia books. A giant version of all seven books in the series sits on the coffee table in our new house. My sisters read it, but I have not. I haven t re read anything that
  • 7. Technology s Impact On Technology And The Impact Of... The Impact of Technology Computers, laptops, cellphones, and eventually artificial intelligence? Technology has sure been advancing rapidly, and will continue to advance for years to come. Think about all of the tasks that once required a trip to the library that can now easily be done with a computer. Google s search engine, for instance, significantly simplifies research you simply enter what you want, and the engine spews out the relevant information. But the harmful effects are plentiful as well. Nicholas Carr addresses popular concerns in Is Google Making Us Stupid, arguing that technology is molding the human brain into an efficiency prioritizing machine, one less flexible, less artistic than the human mind. Although technology inspires artists and informs authors, it is mostly making people stupid, for it encourages a skimming mentality and cultivates impatience. Before revealing technology s harmful effects, it is important to address its benefits. Proponents of technology argue of its importance in artistic inspiration. For instance, websites like Soundcloud, Youtube, and deviantArt allow users to share accomplishments, and many young artists are guided by the social media of successful artists. While it is true that the internet inspires artists, it is equally true that it limits them creatively. Commercialism creeps throughout the internet community music, art, and film must all be popular enough to make a profit. Many young minds are robbed of their individual
  • 8. Persuasive Essay About Undocumented Immigrants My Uncle risked his life crossing the border, his family, and his future. But he was determined to be with the love of his life, my aunt, no matter how risky it was. He was terrified, no other emotion was coursing through his mind. He just wanted to make it there, and he did. He got lucky, unlike many other undocumented immigrants who cross the border. and they are labeled dangerous and should be evacuated as if they are investing our country. But like my uncle, they are coming here for a better opportunity, because they believe in America. They believe in us, so why should we not believe in them? Undocumented immigrants should be able to stay in America, any age, and have a chance to get legal without complications. Because Immigrants are an improvement to our country, we are all immigrants, immigrants are as much of a person as born Americans are. Letting undocumented Immigrants stay in our country, isn t just a plus for them, it s a plus for us. They are rising our population, and they help our economy, a lot! Many people, including the president, think that immigrant workers increase labor market competition, and bring down wages for everyone. Lucky, this is misguided, and driven into false information. Immigrants do not take up space in employment. So they are not taking away anything from native workers, If anything, they are providing more business for us to purchase from. People also think that terrorist are why immigrants are judge, and they are right for one part.
  • 9. Examples Of Foreshadowing In Esmeralda Santiago The quote I push my cart away, toward the apples and pears of my adulthood, their nearly seedless ripeness predictable and bittersweet. , foreshadows the life of Esmeralda as young child and how she grows into young adult taking on responsibilities and the hardships that are involved with it. This quote also tells the readers that her adulthood is rapidly approaching and she will soon leave behind what she has loved for so long and become a new woman experiencing a new adventure. Throughout the book, it is relevant that the use of foreshadowing is used. One of the many ways Santiago does this the short poems written in the beginning of each chapter, they can give a reader an idea of the what the chapters will be about and the thoughts... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Esmeralda Santiago did an outstanding job creating multiple themes that brought the book all together and gave it a deeper meaning. One theme that I felt occurred the most often throughout the book was coming of age. But it seemed to be more than that, what I discovered that one theme was the development of a young girl to a woman, and also truths being revealed about yourself and finding out who you are as a person. The author depicts this theme throughout the book my telling us readers what Esmeralda, Negi, was thinking about a certain situation and how she felt about it. The author also does a great job of incorporating this theme in the memoir by showing at the end of the book how much Negi has gone through and how she has learned and grown from the experience. The characters and settings that are in the book are used to develop the theme by creating events in the settings that the characters, Esmeralda and her family, have to assess, react, and learn and develop from what happened. This is what, to me made the book so interesting and added to depth to what the author was trying to say. The theme in the book has definitely impacted me in some way. It made me realize that there are going to be difficult times in my life, but you can conquer them with persistence and passion. Also if you are perceived as small, weak, helpless, prove everyone wrong and show them what you can do. Be the best that you can be and that is all you can do in life. By doing so I feel as long as I try my best and never let anything get me down, I can do

Hemophilia Research Paper Hemophilia A and B are x linked disorders that cause bleeding due to the absence of a coagulation factor, which arise from mutations in the VIII (FVIII) and IX (FIX) factor genes1. Recent advances in the field of gene therapy have unveiled the use of adeno associated vectors (AAV) and adenovirus vectors (Ad) to increase the levels of expression of the VIII and IX factors, counteracting the effects of the mutation 1. Gene transfer methods of the coagulationfactor IX using AAV has resulted in dogs that had either sustained expression of the factor or that were completely cured from it 2. Gene therapy using Ad has a potential to treat Hemophilia B in the neonatal stages, but the possible leaky expression of this can lead to reduced efficiency of the vector 3. Two vectors AAV CMV F.IX and AAV EIFО± F.IX were inserted into the muscle, each having a similar role2. Both vectors were responsible for inducing the activity of the coagulation factor IXa, which is absent in patients exhibiting Hemophilia B, and plays a crucial role in blood clotting2. The results of this study showed that while the two vectors played similar roles, there were important distinctions between the two that determined the AAV CMV F.IX vector was more useful for XI factor deficiency2. A potential downfall of using AAV was the issue of tumors being caused in animals due to the vectors2. More studies will have to be completed to address this issue

From the harmful effects on the human body, to the resulting pollution and waste; smoking is a nasty and lethal habit. They are ignoring the fact that their smoking is indirectly affecting others health. Smoking causes air pollution and to some extent also pollutes the ground; even

Her actions are also, condemnable , as her activity takes priority over her relationship with Christ. Lastly, there is contempt in her heart towards Mary in her perceived poor choice. I am more than intrigued as he considered, particularly Moses, physical appearance following his mountain top experience. One s physical appearance can be an indication of what is on the inside, especially their face and body language. And one s countenance is a sure tell of what is deep inside. Just as Mathena described Moses, Jesus, and Stephan and their appearance as they were in the Lord s presence, you can see it some believers today. I chose the word some very intentionally. I am not at all convinced that the majority of those who name the name of Jesus have a clear understanding of God s command and call to worship Him. What I have learned: Worship is not what I do, but who I am in the Lord. Chapter 3: Worship s Procedure: Theology of Worship Summary: Mathena discusses a right theology of worship in terms of balance, basic and biblical. There are several moments through her life that really challenged and complimented my understanding of slaveryin American history. The incidents that really swayed me where when she found out she was pregnant, certain the lessons taught by her master, and her trip to Philadelphia. Harriet Jacobs, or Linda Brent, had a relationship with her master that involved fear and restraint. Dr. Flint, her master, was very covetous of the young slave girl refusing to sell her to another master. Although she feared him, she could not escape him and ultimately she let him take advantage of her. This incident in her life stuck out to me because it showed how slave families seriously disapprove of intercourse with their masters despite there being no consent. I had always believed that a family would understand that because the master had forced his will on you, the eyes of god would still see you as pure. The reaction by her grandmother to initially shun her and say, You have disgraced your dead mother seemed very harsh. In my opinion this incident is important for people to be aware of for the reason that although you may feel powerless in a situation, you can never let someone impose their will against

The sport programming and the overall coverage of games has truly set a new standard for everyone who plays and loves sports. The cameras now are showing HD images even. The direction of professional sports has been dramatically effected by broadcast media. Howeve, their interpretations, creation of drama and their ability to establish certain ideas for other people about what happens in sports can not be denied. (Brown, S.P) Such was the case for Donovan McNabb and Redskins coach Mike Shanahan after Shanahan pulled McNabb off the field and replaced him with a white Quarterback in the final two minutes of a game against the Detroit Lions. As the coach, Shanahan is expected to make decisions and do what needs to be done in order to win games. Decisions such as when to pull a player off the field and replace him with someone else definitely fall into this category. As a starting quarterback McNabb is suppose to be capable of doing what needs to be done in order to win games such things would include being in shape, knowing the teams plays and being capable to execute plays that you are given. This may also include wearing an arm band with plays listed on them so if you have questions of which plays are called you can check them for accuracy. McNabb had been brought to the Redskins so they would have a chance as a winning team. Being able to play Professional sports, especially an NFL Quarterback position, is based on
  • 31. A Brief Story of Yitzhak Rabin 1. Introduction On the evening of November 4, 1995, it was the time to celebrate the joyfully weekend. But for the peace loving people, particularly for the peace loving people in Israel and Arab, it was actually a black weekend. It was precisely that evening, one of the creators of Palestinian Israeli peace, who was known as peaceful warrior, Yitzhak Rabin, Premier of Israeli, was murdered by an assassin. The world had shocked, his imposing and heartrending life, became the focal point of the people immediately. All the peace lovers were sorrowful for his death. They burst into tears for him, prayed for him, wished his soul to be serene in heaven. A peace dove had been gunned down; a peace warrior was falling down with several barbaric,... It demonstrated that Israel refused to capitulate to terrorism. In April 1977, Yitzhak Rabin resigned as prime minister in the wake of the revelation that his wife, Leah, retained a bank account in the U.S. from the time her husband had served as ambassador there. (At the time, operating a foreign currency account was illegal under Israeli currency law.) (Yang Mansu, 2007) 2.8 As Minister of Defense In 1984, the national government of Israel agreed to elect Rabin as minister of defense, until the failure of the second unity government in 1990. One of his tasks was disengaging the I.D.F. from a war of attrition in Lebanon. The two sides of the war established a narrow zone of security in southern Lebanon. He also canceled the Lavi aircraft project which developed by Israel Aircraft Industries. Also, he cut off part of the defense budget as part of efforts to help the economy and halt inflation. In December 1987, the outburst of the Intifada (the Palestinian uprising in the occupied territories) caught Israel by surprise. Rapidly, Israel escalated to alarming proportions. Rabin initially adopted an iron fist policy to suppress the uprising and instructed the I.D.F. to respond to

Story Of An Hour Situational Irony Analysis The Story of an Hour vs. The Machine that Won the War These two short stories, The Machine that Won the War and The Story of an Hour seem quite different but show some similarities, they show examples of irony and foreshadowing from the beginning to the end. These stories show multiple examples of irony. An example of irony from The Story of an Hour demonstrates situational irony. Situational irony occurs when the opposite of what you think is supposed to happen. When the doctors came they said she had died of heart disease of the joy that kills. when your reading you think that she will have a long life after her husband dies but when you find out that he is still alive she suddenly dies of heart disease . In the story The Machine
  • 33. The Reoccurring Blues Music And The Blindness Of The Book... The reoccurring blues music plays a significant role in the blindness of the book. In the song Nobody Knows the Trouble I ve Seen by Louis Armstrong, Louis sings Sometimes I m up, sometimes I m down, ohh, yes Lord Sometimes I m almost to the ground, oh yes, Lord Nobody knows the trouble I ve seen . The narrator claims Perhaps I like Louis Armstrong because he s made poetry out of being invisible (Ellison, 10). This statement by the narrator is ironic because the narrator is literally being told that society is blinded to the problems African Americans are facing every day, but he is too blinded himself to realize it. The blues singers have been aware of this problem and are attempting to create reform through their music. The narrator does not even begin to realize his own blindness until he is kicked out of school and goes to work in New York. When the narrator realizes Bledsoe has betrayed him with the Keep him running letters, his blindfold steadily begins to be removed and he begins to understand the complexity of the society in which he lives (Ellison, 147). Emerson, who revealed the content of the letters of recommendation , tells the narrator that There is no point in blinding yourself to the truth. Don t blind yourself (Ellison, 146). Throughout his life, the narrator has been simply living as an invisible man, refusing to face the problems he deals with on a daily basis. He is unable to see that he has constantly been at a disadvantage and been a

Engine Management System ( Ems ) With a tougher legislation and the need for cleaner and more economical engine operation, it has become increasingly more difficult to design an engine which can be compatible with the new requirements. Engine Management System (EMS) is an integrated electrical system which can achieve this by closely monitoring the operation of an engine. It monitors and controls all the key functions of the engine and the exhaust aftertreatment system for a cleaner, more efficient and high power output operation. EMS controls key systems such as fuel injection, turbocharging and exhaust gas recirculation. 1 Air subsystem Air subsystem is a key factor in determining torque output and, engine performance. More the cylinder charged with clean air, the higher the maximum possible engine power output. Figure 1 shows the main components of an air subsystem: The air filter prevents particles and dust from entering the engine in order to reduce wear in the bearings, piston rings, cylinder walls. It also prevents higher fuel consumption and pollutant emissions which result from particles in the engine. Then supercharging/turbocharging is utilised to increase the power output from the engine by drawing pressurised air under force into the cylinders thus higher air mass. This has a great effect in reducing the fuel consumption and exhaust gas emission rates. Compressing the air by the turbocharger, leads to excess heat which has a negative effect on cylinder charge. Downstream of the

These heroes importance on americans is that they help us, the people in many different ways like physically and mentally / vocally. These heroes empower common people to do better. these heroes importance to the world is greatest, they help us to be better (and make the world better) and learn from them. So with these three thing Modern day Heroes better our world and we would be nothing without them. To explain my point, The importance of modern day heroes on Americans are they help us. In passage 1 there s a modern day hero named Betty Ford, Betty was the first lady and she had breast cancer. Betty opened up about her cancer and told lady s to be safe and check to to see if they are ok. Betty Ford in a way helped the people physically by making them go to the doctor, this could have saved people they could have caught the cancer before it was too late. According to Betty Ford: A New Kind of First Lady Checkups increased by 300 to 400 percent . I put this quote to show how Betty Ford is so inspiring she had womans wanted to be sure they were alright and there s a good chance some of those people in that percent might have had breast cancer, so Betty Ford might have just saved there life. Modern day heroes affect Americans mentally/ vocally by speaking up and taking a stand. In passage 2 the author spoke up about violence by involving modern day heroes. Jonah Goldberg (THE AUTHOR) stood up for this one girl named Laura who got in

The Revolution changed America s history in major ways. The twelfth amendment was created and the party divisions that we see today in our modern government are results of the conflict. The revolution was also a test: could the young nation of America shift power peacefully, as the founding father s had intended? Or would everything collapse after only one president leading the country? The Bloodless Revolution of 1800 was an event that changed our nation s history an ways of government in many important ways. But in order to understand fully the whole effect this event had on our nation, we must look back a few years before 1800 to the Neutrality Proclamation, the John Jay Treaty, X Y Z Affair, and the Quasi War. George Washington, in his second term of office, issued the Neutrality Proclamation in an attempt to ease the tension and conflict with Britain caused by The French Revolution. Thomas Jefferson, being so disgusted with Washington s policies, resigned his secretarial position in May of 1793, when the proclamation was announced. Despite Washington s attempt to fix the conflict, British ships continued to confiscate American merchant ships because they, in an attempt to remain neutral, continued to trade with both France and Britain. War soon broke out after that between the new French Republic and the European Monarchs, much to the
  • 37. Modern Feminist Theory And Modern Feminist Theory During the 18th century, Enlightenment ideas developed a political philosophy grounded in the idea of the individual subject. Enlightenment notions of freedom and choice inspired women to examine their position from a theoretical perspective for the first time. Over time, women continued to theorize about their unique position, created as a product of their gender, and used that theory to develop feminist politics. The purpose of feminist theory is to understand the identity of women as an oppressed group and examine the ways in which this identity is maintained and can be changed. It includes a re examination of established norms in society and the multiple forms of oppression that women face. The ultimate effect of creating such a theory is a mode of politics that improves the status of women. In this paper, I will specifically focus on modern feminist theory and politics rooted in the 1960s wave of feminism. Through Simone de Beauvoirs The Second Sex, I will explicate the foundational ideas of modern feminist theory. Then I will use The Combahee River Collective in order to show that modern feminist theory must be intersectional in order to serve its purpose. Finally, using Angela Davis Freedom is a Constant Struggle, I will show some of the ways that a complete feminist theory can be used to create feminist politics, politics that involves the abolition of prisons in America and examining global systems of oppression. In order to provide the foundation for feminist

  • 39. Educators Perceptions Of Debriefing Educators Perceptions of Debriefing While developing and completing a simulation experience for students is an significant role for educators, knowing how to debrief students following a simulation has been deemed as equal if not more important because the majority of learning occurs during this time period (Mariani, et al., 2013). Educators have identified varying methods of debriefing, but most of them have central themes. Most methods include some form of critique, correction, evaluation and open discussion (Neill Wotton, 2011). It is common knowledgeamong nurse educators that the success of debriefing depends on the facilitator and their mastery of debriefing skills. With proper training, educators learn the key requirements... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The educators that facilitate debriefing are the ones who are most skilled in determining what works and does not work within debriefing. Most educators will agree that when it is time to debrief following HFS, there is an insufficient amount of time to assess if the students will potentially transfer the information learned in the simulation to their respective clinical rotations (Mariani, Cantrell Meakim, 2014). Due to the fact that debriefing is such an essential activity to engage students in active learning and developing decision making skills, educators recognize the importance of becoming familiar with best practice for debriefing and mastering this competency. Implications The utilization of HFS in nursing simulation is widely supported by several nursing governing bodies, leaders in nursing education and nursing education literature. Implications for nurse education relate to educators recognizing HFS as an effective student centered learning and teaching strategy. By incorporating HFS into nursing curriculum, educators give students ample opportunities to develop and practice skills as well as using their prior knowledge in a safe environment without

External Economies Of Scale Occur External economies of scale occur when the cost per unit depend on the size of the industry but not necessarily on the size of any one firm(Krugman et al,2015:179).It also consists of potential reduction of average cost associated with higher level of productivity. Often differences between countries and economies of creating the need to trade, as thus economies of scale make it advantageous for each country to specialize in the production of an only limited range of goods and services (Krugman et al,2015).In understanding the significance of economies of scale ,Adam smith postulates that each country could produce one or more commodities at a lower cost than its trading partners .It then follows that each country will benefit from specialization, this pattern of trade often reflect a created comparative advantage meaning that a country can produce at a lower cost than the other country (Theo S et al,2009).A large of production is more efficient, the cost per unit of outputfalls, while the industry increases production as a result it encourages trade amongst countries. Discuss the Role of external economies External economies of scale occur when the cost per unit depends on the size of the industry but not necessarily the size of an individual firm (Krugman et al, 2015) they are most likely to arise when firms operate in the same region. External Economies of scale often lead to industry cluster, that is, Group of similar and related firms in a defined geographic area
