Model English Essays
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Model English Essays" can be a challenging yet intellectually
stimulating task. The difficulty lies not only in the need for a comprehensive understanding of
the subject matter but also in the art of seamlessly blending creativity with analytical thinking.
One must delve into the intricacies of English literature, dissecting various styles, themes, and
literary devices to present a well-rounded and insightful perspective.
The challenge begins with the research phase, as delving into a myriad of literary works requires
time and patience. Familiarizing oneself with different genres, time periods, and authors
becomes imperative to construct an essay that captures the essence of English literature.
Moreover, the task demands a keen eye for detail and critical thinking to analyze and interpret
the chosen model essays effectively. It's not just about summarizing content but rather
synthesizing ideas and drawing connections between different pieces of literature. This
analytical approach requires a deep understanding of the underlying themes, character
developments, and narrative structures.
The writing process itself poses its own set of challenges. Crafting a coherent and engaging essay
requires not only linguistic proficiency but also the ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and
concise manner. Striking the right balance between eloquence and simplicity is an art that requires
honing.
The difficulty is also heightened by the need for originality. While the topic revolves around
model essays, the essayist must avoid mere regurgitation of existing ideas. Instead, they should
strive to offer a fresh perspective, perhaps by connecting disparate works or shedding light on
overlooked aspects of English literature.
In conclusion, writing an essay on "Model English Essays" is a demanding endeavor that
necessitates a deep appreciation for literature, sharp analytical skills, and a mastery of the written
word. It's a journey that challenges the intellect and creativity of the writer, pushing them to
explore the vast landscape of English literature in order to provide a nuanced and insightful
perspective on the chosen topic.
And for those seeking assistance in navigating this challenging terrain, it's worth noting that

Theme Of Poverty In Angela s Ashes
Angela s Ashes takes place in Ireland during the 1930s, a period of time when the
economy in Limerick was declining. The Street takes place in Harlem, New York
City during World War II. The settings in both novels take place in the bitter cold
during hard times. The settings play a huge role in the theme because it shows how
the characters live. Frank McCourtand Lutie Johnson are two characters who deal
with povertythroughout their lives. Frank McCourt, the author and main character
of Angela s Ashes, writes about the struggles with poverty he had as a child.
Through this time he has to make hard decisions in order to survive. Ann Petry
portrays poverty in her writing by using the cold to show the despair of the people
walking along the streets of New York. The authors way of showing poverty in their
novels differs in some ways but is very similar to one another. The author of Angela s
Ashes and the author of The Street convey the theme of poverty through their similar
settings and the characters need for survival.
The authors are able to convey the theme of poverty by creating similar settings in
New York City and Ireland. Lutie, the main character of The Street, walks down the
frigid sidewalk of New York observing the setting surrounding her. The author
illustrates the cold by writing, She shivered as the cold fingers of the wind touched
the back of her neck... (Petry). This quote shows the way the author portrays the
wind. She uses personification to give it life.

Ethical Issues In Legalizing Marijuana
An ethical approach to legalization of Marijuana
I will take a look at different ethical aspects of the legalization of marijuana, using
data provided and studies from the past, I will attempt to further convey my stance as
being pro legalization of marijuana. INTRODUCTION
The legalization of marijuana has been in dispute since the idea has come nito
conception. There are a myriad of stances, legalization strictly for medicinial
purposes, decriminialization of possession(treatment instead of incarceration), a
complete prohibition, and finally a stance of the legalization of marijuana for
industrial use.

verdict is increasingly PRO marijuana. But I will ... Show more content on

The Catholic Christians belief on Canonization and the Scripture writings have a
difference according to Paul and the letters he wrote. Canonization is a process that is
used by the churches to name Saints, the churches have utilized this since the
nineteenth century. This has been done over and over for several years. It began with
the early church, first martyrs then the public claim did the choosing of these saints;
however, this way was thought to be democratic despite the information being
distorted and some of it never even existed. However, some Christians have different

These people were thought to go straight to heaven where they could be with Jesus in
the presence of the Lord, for example these people had the ability to intercede for
the living people s sins. They believed in confessing their sins to other people in
the hope of being prayed for and healing. These people were thought to be powerful
and with a direct connection with God. However, the controversy against this is
that there is no scripture in the Bible in support of this point; it is an abomination
to pray to the death. Before God, all believers were equal no one is regarded purer

The Theme Of Madness And Insanity In William
Shakespeare s...
l, Introduction
This papers goal will be to discuss whether Hamlet is feigning his insanity or if he
uses it as a tool to reach his ends. The theme of madness is a common tool used in
William Shakespeare s Hamlet. Most of it is centred about the protagonist young
Hamlet himself. Beginning with the appearance of the ghost of Hamlet s father, from
early on in the play, Hamlet and others are forced to question their grasp on reality,
as well as their own possibility for believing in the existence of the Supernatural.
And yet, Hamlet is not alone in his apparent struggle with insanity. Hamlet s love
interest Ophelia too, suffers from a particular kind of madness after her father is
murdered and it gets reinforced by Hamlet s rejection and betrayal. ... Show more

He never explicitly explains his own motives not even in his soliloquies. We have
to keep in mind that the situation of the play is already developed before he comes
on the stage and the full solution is reached only after his death. Hamlet s tendency
for hesitation or passivity is reason for a lot of criticism, justified or not However,
it comes into full maturity when it comes to the task given by the ghost of old
Hamlet. The prince is constantly putting of the instruction for that he is not ready
and not done thinking about it. For him it naturally poses as a moral struggle; it is
not his private revenge that he has to carry out but he is merely the sword of a
greater invisible power. It appears that his tragic erroris his inability to act and his
tendency towards reflection that ultimately leads to his death. As it stands Hamlet is
not someone who is lacking insight but rather someone who is caught between being
and doing. These inner conflict modern psychologists know as neurosis, and it is only
by study of neurosis that one can learn the fundamental motives and instincts that
move men. (Philips 2009). Being the victim of a neurosis would certainly attest the
theory of insanity, however it lacks
Cerebral Palsy Changed My Life
Sometimes, life deals you a bad hand. Most of the time when you think of that line,
you d think of simply someone having bad luck. Well, in my case, life literally
dealt me a bad hand. I was born with Cerebral Palsy, so I never had full control over
my right limbs. Being disabled in this way let me experience things in ways that a
normal person wouldn t, and it taught me many things. The most important
takeaway I got from it was even when life deals you that bad hand, you have to
work around it and grow from it. Part of just dealing with it comes with knowing
your limitations, and finding ways around it. For example, growing up I played
soccer. I didn t play very well, obviously, having the limited mobility that I did. I

Leonardo Da Vinci Accomplishments
Painting the World
Leonardo Da Vinci is an eminent artist who is well known for his renowned painting
named Mona Lisa. However, not much is known about him beyond his popular
paintings. Which raises the question: Why is Leonardo Da Vinci so important? I
have wondered why Leonardo Da Vinci was such an important figure in society.
Besides granting a large influence on the art industry, Leonardo Da Vinciisn t well
known for his many other accomplishments. Nonetheless, Leonardo Da Vinci was
more than just an artist. He was a scientist, inventor, and a philosopher. This essay
will demonstrate Leonardo Da Vinci s discoveries and inventions, accomplishments,

the era, and he gave new painting techniques that differed from traditional art. Some
of the techniques include: Sfumato and Chiarusco (Art). These techniques are still
used in modern day art. Because of Da Vinci s techniques, they assisted in the
advancement of Renaissance art. If it weren t for Da Vinci s insight behind the arts,
then Renaissance art wouldn t have been the way that it was, and it wouldn t have the

In summation, Da Vinci has contributed many ideas to various, or almost every,
field. From designing inventions far advanced from his time period, to bestowing
many discoveries and philosophies from many subjects, Da Vinci exemplifies what it
takes to be large influence on society. Because of these factors, this is what has
named Da Vinci as an important figure in history.
Ultimately, Da Vinci wasn t just the artist who painted Mona Lisa, he was also an
intellectual in the Italian Renaissance who has made extraordinary discoveries and

Political, Social, Legal And Economic System
Introduction
China, the world s second largest economic power, one of five permanent members
of the United Nations Security Council, and the only Communist Party led
authoritarian state in the G 20 grouping of major economies (Susan V. Lawrence,
2012). Over the last three decades, the value of Chinese trade has approximately
doubled every four years. This rapid growth has transformed the country from a
negligible player in world trade to the world s second largest exporter, as well as a
substantial importer of raw materials, intermediate inputs, and other goods. What

been in power in China for more than six decades (Thomas Lum, 2009). CPC is

Political stability is a critical point for a country to attract foreign company investing

living in China, the majority (94 percent) are Han Chinese; the other groups include
Tibetans, Mongolians, Zhuang, Li and Miao whose languages and customs are quite
different from those of the Han (SACU, 2001). The official language in China is

Influence Of Confucius Ideas On Government
Confucius Ideas On Government:Confucius imagined the government as a social
order led by reasonable, cordial, and just men, not by individuals peremptorily
empowered by hereditary status, and warned of the social consequences if men in
positions of power tried to benefit themselves with their decisions rather than the
public. Confuciusenvisioned the family as a role model for the government.
Confucius says that if the conduct of an official is not correct, he may issue orders,
but they will not be followed.
Confucius Ideas On Morality:Confucius believed that if people live loyal
trustworthy lives then the emphasis on loyalty and trustworthiness would inevitably
spread to all of society. Confucius also believed that is is every person s personal
duty to set a good example for others that they came into contact with. Confucius
believed strongly that moral education should be taught very predominately. He said

How Does Melies Use Substitution Splicing
Georges Melies pioneering work with special effects from 1896 1903. Georges
Melies was a French film maker. He made hundreds of films between the years of
1896 and 1912. During the duration of film making career he invented and developed
a number of special effect techniques that greatly benefited the filmindustry. One of
the special effect techniques developed by Georges Melies is called substitution
splicing, It is the first special effect that Georges Melies took advantage of in his

Another special effect technique that Melies took advantage of in his films was
called the replication effect he referred to it as superposition. Examples of this in
use are in his films titled L homme orchestre/ The one man band which was
released in 1900 and Le Melomane/The Melomaniac which was released in 1903.
The method used to achieve this effect are that the film is exposed up to ten
consecutive times in the camera. The actor who has to go through the scene up to
ten times and they have to remember precisely to the second what they were doing
in the previous take of the scene. If the actor steps out of place during one of the
takes the whole scene is ruined and the whole process has to start from the beginning.
The replication effect is historically significant because it opened the door to more
complex and experimental types special effect techniques that make extravagant and

The city of God tells the story of teenager s crime in the slums of Rio De Janeiro,

wealth, urban crime and youth gang are revealed in urban slum due to the
globalizations of this city. This movie leads to people to consider two aspects of the
issues from the movie. Those are the importance of education, and the influence of
the environments.
Urban slum and physical environment shaped a sharp contrast between the rich and
poor. Social abnormalities are reflected in this film, which are caused by the rapid
development of Brazil s economy. The slums in the city, the edge zones in the city,
are the abominable products of the process in rapid acceleration of urbanization. The
people can be separated into two groups, which are the high education group of

soon after the creation of the Crips. Raised in poverty without a father, and a full
family raised solely by his mother, Kody Scott led the stereotypical ghetto life, a
poor and broken home. However he does not blame this on his own personal decision
to join the Crips while only eleven year s old. The allure of the respect and glory that
bangers got, along with the unity of the set (name for the specific gang) is what drew
him into the gang. Once joined, he vowed to stay in the set for life, and claimed that
banging was his life. After many years of still believing this, he eventually realized
that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, once out of prison for a while, he knew that this wasn t possible in the
real world, like it was in prison. He now had to make a choice. Once in Prison
again, after a failed attempt at gang unity, he realized that the Afrikan race as a
whole along with his newfound responsibility to his family(wife and kids), was
more important than the set , and that he would now leave the set and the gang
life. However this was no easy task, as most who attempt to leave the set don t
succeed or die trying. It took him a whole three years to leave the Crips. He now,
however, unlike before, realized that a banging was wrong for more than just the
black on black crime and such, but that it was a matter of morals and family, and
he now no longer took pride in his past actions, but still took responsibility for
them(page 357). Once out of prison again, he was now out of the set and could
start a more normal life with his family and with a real paying job. He was still
however part of the New Afrikan Independence Movement, and also devoted to
stopping the causes of gangsterism(page 377).
This complete turnaround in his life and new devotion, is the purpose of the book
he wrote. At the start of the book he tells of how he joined the gang and why. He
also tells of all of his glory stories and how much he enjoyed banging. However as
the book slowly progresses, he starts to mature and to develop mentally. Until toward
the end of the book, in
Visiting A Jewish Day Service
On Visit number two I attended a Jewish morning service in a Temple. I went
along with Brady and we went to the Temple Beth Israel. We walked in and sat
down in the booths. The service was led by Rabbi Bruce Benson. A Rabbi, I
learned, is a Jewish scholar or teacher appointed by other Jewish leaders. We had
come on what they called Shabbat Morning, it was a special service because it was
to celebrate a young girl named Elexis Goldberg on her Bat Mitzvah. A Bat Mitzvah
is a Jewish tradition that celebrates a young man or women coming of age.
The Jews started with a greeting Shabbat Shalom which means peace and a way of
saying hello and goodbye. I guess it s about saying come or go with peace. The
Rabbi said that this was a time to separate themselves from the rest of the world, it is
a time to reflect.
Next the Rabbi, continued with a story time. He talked about a time where a young
Jew could only go to school if he had a pen and ink, so then the Jews got together
and donated money so young Jewish children could buy the materials and have the
opportunity to go to school. So. It s great that they have so many opportunities
especially now young Jewish women like Elexis.
Following the story, the first task was for Elexis to wrap herself in a type of robe.
Then she sang a song in Hebrew. She then proceeded to read from the Torah, (a Torah
is the old testament, it is a written law that has five books of the Hebrew Bible. These
books were given by God to Moses on Mount
The Rights Of The Sound Maker
The provision expresses the rights of the sound maker, i.e. what is not required is
implied. The implication is that anybody apart from the marker is prevented by the
Act to make reproductions without authority (Craig, 2011, p. 105). On 23rd of June
2015, the rules of regulating sound recordings were modified. The modifications
were to the effect that unpublished sound recordings would last for fifty years after
fixation. If the sound recordings are published before the copyrightexpires, the term
application is seventy years before its publication or a hundred years from the date of
fixation. Consequently, it also extends the copyright for musical performers works
contained in the recordings (Craig, 2011, p.226). According to McCormack (2010),
the Canadian Intellectual PropertyOffice defines performers performances. It states
that copyright applies to a performer s performance provided that it occurs in
Canada or in any other country that accords its membership to the Rome
Convention country. Such performances will also qualify if it is embodied in a
sound recording, whose producer is either a citizen or permanent resident of Canada
and or member country of Rome Convention. However, if the producer of a sound
recording is a corporation, its headquarters must be based in Canada or a member of
the Rome Convention. It all implies that the intellectual property protection and, in
particular, copyright rules will apply, as long as the disclaimer is either a Canadian
The Destruction Of The Sennacherib
Research Paper
Lord Byron, one of the major poets of England during the Romantic Period (1785
1830), epitomized the essence of this movement of literature because Romanticism
was flourishing in the arts. In painting, literature, and music, one of the great
Romantic obsessions was the ancient past ( The Destruction of the Sennacherib ).
Some of the characteristics of Romanticism are belief in the common man, reverence
for nature, interest in the past, and optimism. All of Byron s poetry reflects most of
the characteristics, such as She Walks in Beauty and The Destruction of the
Sennacherib. Lord Byron acted as the model of the Romantic period by not only
reflecting most of or all of the Romantic ideals in just those two pieces, but he ...

Individual Changes Across Age
Abstract The subject of personal evolution examines how individual changes across
age. When scientists investigate the individual growth, they classify and try to
explain both general aspects that everyone shares and characteristics that are
unparalleled. The objective study of personal development uses theories, analysis,
and data summary to explain why and whereby evolution transpires. It incorporates
the event from conception to end stages. In the interest of being comprehensive in
indications of chronology, it is also wide regarding heterogeneity. The subject of
human development encompasses all types of individuals from various cultures,
societies, generations, and socioeconomic status. The classific of common properties

Nevertheless, they serve two discrete and progressive processes. While development
leads to shifts over time, the word growth refers to material changes. It can be
quantifiably marked and involves dentition, height, and weight. As humans, there is a
physiological pattern, but maturity times differ in various life stages. A good
example of this is when growth occurs during the prenatal period. The growth is
rapid, while there is minimum increase throughout adulthood. The development of
children takes place in a continuous, orderly, and sequential pattern. This design is
influenced by maturational, environmental, and hereditary factors. What this means
that the rate, magnitude, and effects of substantial growth vary from person to
person yet the order is the same. The pattern of growth and development transpires
in a proximo distal direction. Proximo distal means the body grows from the center
outward. The body doesn t just development proximo distal but from simple to a
complex task. As we watch our children grown we watch them begins with a
generalized response such as the Moro reflex and progresses to a skilled individual

The Importance Of Being A Good And Effective Leader
One very important aspect of being a good and effective leader includes valuing
your employees and being able to convey to each employee the value that they have
to you and the company as an individual. Christine Comaford wrote The Value of
Valuing Employees discussing the importance of valuing each employee and
discussing six specific pitfalls leaders portray when it comes to valuing employees.
The pitfalls include, failing to respond to employee emails, failing to provide
feedback positive or negative, acknowledging people only when they make mistakes,
failing to celebrate victories, showing favoritism, and burning out employees.
Committing pitfalls in leadership The first pitfall Comaford (2013) discusses is
Failing to Respond to Employee Emails . This pitfall is essentially not making
enough time to respond and/or not responding quickly enough to employees,
specifically in emails. By not responding to your employees email in a timely
manner, or simply not responding at all makes the employees mind panic and the
employee begin to question themselves and their importance in the company. I have
had this happen in my previous workplace with my district manager. I would send
her emails, leave her notes on her desk, or even ask her in person, face to face to help
me out with something or an answer about something and nine times out of ten she
would forget to respond or help me in anyway. This made me not wantto come to her
with any concerns, or for any help or any

In October 2003, San Diego experienced the Cedar Fire that claimed 273,246 acres,
2,820 structures, and 15 lives (CAL FIRE, 2015). It gained the moniker, The
Hundred Year Fire because another fire of its magnitude was not expected for
another 100 years (San Diego Fire Facts, 2016). This expectation was short lived
because four years after this fire in October 2007, San Diego experienced the
largest wildfire in history (San Diego Fire Facts, 2016). This fire gained the name,
Witch Fire (CAL FIRE, 2015). These fires highlighted that there were not enough fire
fighters and resources to combat such fires. They highlighted areas that lacked
emergency service protection and showed a lack of preparedness (San Diego Fire

shake shingles being banned on new construction and could not be used as roof

increase from 65, between the fuel, for example vegetation, of the fire and the

The Cause And Effects Of The Age Of Exploration
During the late 1400s, many technological innovations has increased the
development of navigation and sailing. These innovations opened the doors to the
Age of Exploration, an era that started in the 15th century, where it s effects are
still seen in the world today. It began as few mere explorations to numerous
expeditions. An age where Europeans would go explore, expand, and colonize new
found land. It was also known as a race between the European countries for fame,
wealth, and power. Due to these explorations, the trade network has significantly
expanded, which improved the European economy and has increased the geographic
knowledge of the world. The cause of these explorations arose due to the appealing
demand for fame, wealth, and knowledge as well as to increase the faith of
Christianity.
Prior to the Age of Discovery, Europeans have enhanced their technology and
increased their geographical knowledge. In the past, European navigated through the
seas by observing their environment or by using portolan charts to guide them
through them the Mediterranean sea. However, because of Prince Henry the
Navigator, Europeans were able to travel farther with much more accuracy. Henry
designed a nautical map which helped explorers travel away from shore without the
possibility of being lost. This gave them the opportunity to discover more land, past
their usual limits seen in the portolan charts. Not only was he able to create an
efficient map, he also taught others the knowledge

Title: Have developments in digital technology fundamentally changed the nature of
diplomacy or are they simply new means to pursuing the same ends?
Word count:
Intro:
This uncertainty reflects a growing awareness that a transformational international
system still dominated by sovereign states is having to respond to change at several
interrelated levels. Whilst complex policy agendas still demand a central, if
changing, role for the state, many of the norms, rules and roles associated with
diplomacy as it has developed over the last few centuries are no longer fit for
purpose. Clearly, fundamental questions regarding the purposes of diplomacy, who
is or should be involved in it and what forms and practices it should assume to deal
with new policy challenges need to be urgently addressed. This applies to
international organizations as well as the institutions of national diplomacy and
offers a fundamentally different perspective from that based on the familiar claim
that diplomacy is irrelevant to contemporary global needs. Rather, diplomacy has a
central role but needs to adapt to the demands of a rapidly changing environment.
Against this background, a central assumption of this report is that diplomacy as a
set of processes continues to be of central importance to the global policy milieu and
that these processes need to be constantly re evaluated.
The Supreme Court Struck Down The Mccain Feingold Act
The demons of a misinterpreted judicial review have corrupted the legislature, the
courts, and our political process. In 2010, the Supreme Court struck down the
McCain Feingold Act as unconstitutional. The landmark Citizens United v Federal
Elections Commission decision ruled that political spending is a form of free speech
and corporations have license to contribute exorbitant amounts to politicians. Citizens
United ensures denies the voices of citizens as representatives are beholden to outside
interests rather than their constituency. I, Justice John B. Gibson, hold that the power
of judicial reviewis too widely interpreted and, to keep government officials
accountable, must be vested in the masses to rediscover some twinge of our once
budding representative democracy. The Supreme Court often oversteps its perceived
legal sovereignty when using judicial review. Article III of the Constitution solely
vests the courts the judicial power of the United Statesnever mentioning the power of
judicial review. The judiciary s duty, according to the law of the land, is to interpret
the laws, not scan the authority of the lawgiver (Gibson, J.). The judiciary has not
followed a strict interpretation of the constitution; rather, it has encroached on the
power of the legislative branch and the sanctity of the separation of powers. If the
Constitution were to come into collision with an act of the legislature (Gibson, J.),
the Constitution would take precedent, but it is
The Theme of Death in The Dead Essay
Although a scene of a funeral home might come to mind when a reader first hears a
short story aptly named The Dead, the tale actually takes place in the festive setting
of a winter dance at the home of the two aunts of the main character, Gabriel Conroy.
James Joyce s short story The Dead has a literal title, because its main concept is
deathboth physical death and spiritual death. Gabriel Conroy and his wife, Gretta
Conroy, attend a party held by Gabriel s aunts, Kate Morkan and Julia Morkan. The
mood of the party is intentionally festive. It s an annual event the Misses Morkan s
annual dance (1227). But parts of the evening turn out to be quite nostalgic. The
nostalgia comes from certain guests attending the party who are... Show more content

After Gabriel s speech, the door is open and the freezing outside air is being let
into the room. Because of the cool air, Kate demands that the door be closed
because Mrs. Malins will get her death of cold. (1241). Although surely Mrs. Malins
is in danger of catching cold, the phrase death of cold is an intentional exaggeration
to bring the reader s mind back to the concept of death. A ghostly light is also present
in the hotel room where the Conroys are staying (1245).
The environment in which the characters interact is also saturated with death
symbolism. Gabriel sees two works of art in the house. The first piece of art on the
wall is a picture of Romeo and Juliet, who are two international symbols for death.
The second piece of art on the wall that Gabriel sees is of Edward IV s two sons,
who were killed. The reader at the time that this story was published would have
probably understood the story of Edward IV s two sons, thus again bringing his or
her mind back around to the concept of death. There is also a photograph of
Gabriel s deceased mother on display in the house (1232). But images of death are
not the only things in the environment to reinforce the theme. Mr. D Arcy sings the
song The Lass of Aughrim, which is about a girl who commits suicide, an obvious
story of death (1243). The story also represents spiritual death. The spiritual death is
not as prevalent in the story as the
The Reaction Of A Fischer Esterification Reaction
In this experiment, a Fischer Esterification reaction was performed with two
unknown compounds. The unknown compounds, Acid 2 and Alcohol D, were
identified by using the knowledge of the reaction that took place, and the identity
of the product that was synthesized. The identification of the product resulted from
analysis of IR and NMR spectra. For this experiment, Alcohol D and Acid 2 reacted
in the presence of concentrated sulfuric acid, resulting in a colorless solution with
brown layer on top. After washes with sodium bicarbonate and brine, the pale
yellow liquid product was dried and then distilled. Distillation resulted in two
colorless fractions, the second of which had a boiling point of 69 70 ЛљC. This
boiling point is unrealistic for any compound obtained in this experiment, so it
was not used in identifying the product. After distillation, both fractions were
spectroscopically analyzed. The IR and NMR spectra obtained for both fraction
were identical, meaning both fractions contained exactly the same substance. Both
fractions also smelled the same, like piГ±a colada, therefore confirming this
conclusion. This outcome also meant that the amount of product synthesized was
5.7393 g. For the identification of the product, IR, 13C NMR and 1H NMR spectra
were examined, and the product was found to be butyl propionate. In the IR
spectrum, RM 11 Bi, five key peaks are observed. These peaks are sp3 hybridized
carbons at 2961 cm 1 and 2877 cm 1, an ester at 1737 cm 1, a
How Did The Western Schism Affect The Catholic Church
The Western Schism:
And Its Impact on the Catholic Church
Jacob Stickney
Western Civilization II
Professor Jennifer Fast
November 14, 2016
The Catholic Church s response to the Western Schism was vastly important to its
respectability and authority in regards to the faithful of that time. The Western Schism
was only a temporary misunderstanding, even though it compelled the Church for
forty years to seek its true head; it was fed by politics and passions, and was
terminated by the assembling of the councils of Pisa and Constance. 1 After the
Avignon Papacy, the Catholic Church had three men claiming to be pope. One man
elected in Rome, one in Avignon, France, and one elected by the Council of Pisa.
This was very detrimental to the Catholic theology which states that it can trace
every pope back to St. Peter, the first pope. The Catholic faithful were not sure
which of the three men was the true pope and which, if any of them, they should
listen to. It was a very confusing time for all the faithful living in this time, and a
very annoying situation for the true pope who was now seen by many to be as
questionable as the other two in regards to not being the true pope. The three men
knew what a mess this situation was and two of them wanted to deal with the
situation, so as to reduce confusion among the faithful. The anti pope John XXIII
called the Council of Constance to deal with this situation. He offered to resign from
the papacy, that he was never in possession of, if the other two men would as well.
The council met to depose of the two anti popes, to deal with heretical teachings,
and to protect the succession of the papacy. This council is one of the most
important ecumenical councils, as it helped to affirm the succession of the pope
and to help to resolve the confusion caused by these anti popes. The Council of
Constance was called in 1414 by the Anti Pope John XXIII. It was called to resolve
the conflict regarding the papacy and to identify the true successor of St. Peter.
Between November 1414 and June 1415, the council had a total of 13 sessions,
dealing with the papacy and how the pope was chosen. The council, enacted Haec
Sancta (fifth session, 15 April 1415),
The Main Reason For Collapsing Of Roman Empire And
America
As Rome and America are the largest empire and country in their time, there are
various similarities between them. Some similarities they both have are dominant
power that both of them are powerful and have huge impact on other countries in
their time and cultural diversity which they both have an open society made up of
many people. Moreover, moral decline was the main reason for collapsing of
Roman Emperor; America suffered the decline of moral value for a long time. In
2015, the decline of the moral is most considerable issue for America because the
rate of single parent families is rising and the greed in the corporations or
organizations is increased as the same as Rome. Like the moral value decline in
Rome was caused by the fall of father role in the families, America have been
suffering from the moral decline because of the rise in the single parent families.
The rise in the single parent families is the same kind of the fall of father authority
because single mothers rate is increased than the single father s rate. There were
about 12 million single parents families in U.S, and more than 80 percent were led by
the single mothers according to the Census Bureau s American Community Survey.
Therefore, the role of father is declined; and the mothers play an important role in the
single parent familyby working, doing housework and raising their kids. The more
rising the single mothers rate, the more failing the fathers authority in the families.
However, Rome and
The Themes Of Motherhood In Peter The Park
Motherhood feeling blooms in each woman s heart. As a little girl, motherhood is
practiced through doll as if it is her baby. As a woman grows up, she creates her
dreams of being a mother, strong bond, and attachment to this world; she naturally
belongs to this hood. Motherhood then becomes waking up in the middle of the
night to make sure that her child is well tucked in and to give her full attention, care,
and love to a child. It is a harsh world, tiredness and exhaustion sometimes. Through
the endless journey, she consumes her real, metal and emotional power and energy
for the sake of her own children s comfort and happiness. Strangely, if asking any
motherabout her life as a mother? She would happily say that being a mom is the
most satisfying feeling she has ever had. Most important chore in motherhood trip
is to teach a child to grow up, as nothing equals the happiness of a mother when
finally, she knows that she raised a successful human being. As we will learn in this
essay, how is Peter s mother in Peter the Rabbit is different than Charles s mother in
Voices in The Park . Both stories hold the Growing up process theme. We

Also, believing in your child and forgive him would make him doesn t fear the
unknown. Peter s mother forgives him because she knows he learned his lesson.
First, she was right when she warned him to stay away from the garden, second, he
learned to be responsible and depend on himself. He now knows how Mr. Rabbit
cars or him and love him and she will always be there for him no matter what
happens even if he makes some mistakes. That is fundamentally important; each
child should know and feel that way; secured and loved. Love and care are absent
in the case of Charles. His mother keeps a gap between him and careless; he is
mentally paralyzed because of his mother s selfishness. Charles cannot grow up
The Hamilton Grange National Memorial
There are many historical sites in New York City that have contributed and still
contribute to America s political history in some way. The historical site that I have
decided to expand my research on is, the Hamilton Grange National Memorial
located in Harlem, New York. This site was the home of Alexander Hamilton
, one of
the seven foreign born Founding Fathers of the United States of America. He had a
great influence on the foundation of the United States of America, the United States
constitution and the Federalist Party. He was a Military officer, lawyer and member
of the US constitutional convention, an American political philosopher, and author of
the majority of the Federalist Papers.
Alexander Hamilton was born on January 11, 1755 in Charlestown, Nevis, in British
West Indies. While working at a shipping company in Nevis, he gained recognition
from local contributors who offered him a formal education. This led to Hamilton
coming to New York at the age of seventeen (1772) to earn an education at Kings
University, which is now Columbia University. During his college career, Hamilton
caught an interest in American politics, specifically, the American Patriots.
Eventually, he became a huge supporter of the patriots revolutionary movement
against pro British loyalists. Hamilton educated himself on the revolutionary
movement enough to write political articles that legitimized revolutionary actions.
These articles caught the attention of many people and political

The analysis report found that states that tended to suffer most from the recession had
the biggest declines in births.
The National Center for Health Statistics, in a statement released also stated that there
is quite possibly a connection between the decline in births and the economic
downturn of the last couple of years. Two consecutive years of declines would be
consistent with that, given that the nation s economic troubles are affecting the birth
rate.

First Person Narrative Research
First person narrative research is a term that uses a group of approaches that in turn
depend on spoken words, written works or pictures/drawings of people. These
approaches tend to focus on the lives of individuals as told through their own stories.
The importance and focus within such approaches is in the narrative, usually based on
both what and how it is narrated. The audience validates narrative research. Being
a very useful tool and all, narrative method may not always be strong enough to
stand alone as a central piece of evidence in concluding a point. Regardless if it is
part of a presentation or whether it is a stand alone piece of information, it must be
accepted, based on its own merits as an individual experienceand... Show more

The narrative method allows for an intimate look into the emotions, thoughts and
experiences within a story based on the fact that another has witnessed such or intern
through another s work along for a great picture to be established. Being easily able
to validate a claim or narrative account through another is also a huge benefit of the
method making it easier for the truth to come out and harder for lies to see the light.
Personal narratives and information gained from narrative methods tend to come
from truthful sources based on not wanting to tarnish individual s credibility, and not
seeing a reason in creating lies and misleading information. Nevertheless, many
problems can also be seen within the method harder and less likely to prevent. The
limited perspective is detrimental in the sense that only that one perspective s views
through emotion and feeling are used to describe the situation if there had only been
one account. Unless there are multiple viewpoints from different individuals who
think and act differently put together to create one image from all different sides,
which isn t very practical to do. The narrative method also creates a restricted view in
the sense that anything the reader does not know, you don t know. Such as taking into
consideration different socio contexts and the individuals thinking spectrums. The
narrative account may also be biased, understanding the story through ones eyes,
leaves room for events and facts to change based on what the individual thinks, wants,
and knows at the

Introduction
KIA, which means arise from Asia in Korean, started out making bicycles prior to
World War II (Kia Motors Corporation, 2008). The company developed the
manufacturing of steel bicycle tubing into a multi national corporation producing cars
and trucks. Prior to merging with Hyundai in 1998, Kia was the second largest
producer of vehicles in South Korea (Kia Motors Corporation Company Profile,
Information, Business Description, History, Background Information on Kia Motors
Corporation, 2008). Examining Kia s transformation in a country lifting itself out of

Using these criteria, South Korea and Kia have a distinct disadvantage on the world
market.
Demand Conditions The demand conditions in South Korea have been
unparalleled in other countries in recent history. In 1963, the per capita Gross
National Product (GNP) was $100. This has grown to $20,000 per capita and
South Korea is now the seventh largest trading partner with the United States
(Background Note: South Korea, 2008). This growth in GNP is staggering
considering that it took the United States 130 years to grow its Gross Domestic
Product ten fold (1870 200) (Barro, 2003). Barro (2003) notes that this growth is
fairly evenly distributed. This distribution of income has remained relatively
unchanged from 1960 to today (Barro, 2003). Life expectancy and infant mortality
indicators have also significantly changed. Life expectancy has increased from 54
years to 73 years and infant mortality has dropped from 8% to 0.8% since 1960
(Barro, 2003). This rapid growth and increase in personal income has led to a
significant growth in internal demand for automobiles. According to a study
conducted by AC Nielson, who developed an Aspiration Index (AI) to measure
current ownership levels and future intentions to buy, over 60% of those surveyed
indicated an intention to buy. This is compared to the same index in the United
States of less than 30% (Consumers in Asia Pacific Car Ownership and Our Purchase
Social Media Reflection
As I created my media campaign, I focused on three concepts from social cognition:
cognitive dissonance, object appraisal function, and message effect. I was not only
interested in how my audience would perceive my message, but also, in how my own
perceptions shape my actions and beliefs in relationship to environmentally friendly
behaviors. Initially, I thoughtabout my childhood and growing up and the messages
about the environmentmy own parents taught me. Because I grew up on a farm, we
were consumed with wasting as little as possible so that our family business would
continue to flourish and support us.
I decided to focus my media campaign project on the issue of household food waste.
According the Environmental Protection Agency, the average American throws out
20 pounds of food per month and spends $2,200 on wasted food. This information
helped confirm that I wanted to do my project on food waste.
Growing up we had lots of chickens and we fed food scraps to them. With the
resurgence of interest in chickens I thought that would be a good topic. But when I
started designing and planning material my idea just would not gel. I realized that
part of the reason I was struggling is that I no longer have chickens and because of
that it was hard for me to make a persuasive case for others to keep chickens. Also, I
do not think that my intended audience would be able to have their own chickens.
Consequently, I decided to discuss something that was practical and could be

The challenge begins with the research phase, as delving into a myriad of literary works requires time and patience. Familiarizing oneself with different genres, time periods, and authors becomes imperative to construct an essay that captures the essence of English literature. Moreover, the task demands a keen eye for detail and critical thinking to analyze and interpret the chosen model essays effectively. • 7. Theme Of Poverty In Angela s Ashes Angela s Ashes takes place in Ireland during the 1930s, a period of time when the economy in Limerick was declining. The Street takes place in Harlem, New York City during World War II. The settings in both novels take place in the bitter cold during hard times. The settings play a huge role in the theme because it shows how the characters live. Frank McCourtand Lutie Johnson are two characters who deal with povertythroughout their lives. Frank McCourt, the author and main character of Angela s Ashes, writes about the struggles with poverty he had as a child. Through this time he has to make hard decisions in order to survive. Ann Petry portrays poverty in her writing by using the cold to show the despair of the people walking along the streets of New York. The authors way of showing poverty in their novels differs in some ways but is very similar to one another. The author of Angela s Ashes and the author of The Street convey the theme of poverty through their similar settings and the characters need for survival. The authors are able to convey the theme of poverty by creating similar settings in New York City and Ireland. Lutie, the main character of The Street, walks down the frigid sidewalk of New York observing the setting surrounding her. The author illustrates the cold by writing, She shivered as the cold fingers of the wind touched the back of her neck... (Petry). This quote shows the way the author portrays the wind. She uses personification to give it life.

The Theme Of Madness And Insanity In William Shakespeare s... l, Introduction This papers goal will be to discuss whether Hamlet is feigning his insanity or if he uses it as a tool to reach his ends. The theme of madness is a common tool used in William Shakespeare s Hamlet. Most of it is centred about the protagonist young Hamlet himself. Beginning with the appearance of the ghost of Hamlet s father, from early on in the play, Hamlet and others are forced to question their grasp on reality, as well as their own possibility for believing in the existence of the Supernatural. And yet, Hamlet is not alone in his apparent struggle with insanity. Hamlet s love interest Ophelia too, suffers from a particular kind of madness after her father is murdered and it gets reinforced by Hamlet s rejection and betrayal. ... We have to keep in mind that the situation of the play is already developed before he comes on the stage and the full solution is reached only after his death. Hamlet s tendency for hesitation or passivity is reason for a lot of criticism, justified or not However, it comes into full maturity when it comes to the task given by the ghost of old Hamlet. The prince is constantly putting of the instruction for that he is not ready and not done thinking about it. For him it naturally poses as a moral struggle; it is not his private revenge that he has to carry out but he is merely the sword of a greater invisible power. It appears that his tragic erroris his inability to act and his tendency towards reflection that ultimately leads to his death. As it stands Hamlet is not someone who is lacking insight but rather someone who is caught between being and doing. These inner conflict modern psychologists know as neurosis, and it is only by study of neurosis that one can learn the fundamental motives and instincts that move men. (Philips 2009). Being the victim of a neurosis would certainly attest the theory of insanity, however it lacks

By not responding to your employees email in a timely manner, or simply not responding at all makes the employees mind panic and the employee begin to question themselves and their importance in the company. I have had this happen in my previous workplace with my district manager. I would send her emails, leave her notes on her desk, or even ask her in person, face to face to help me out with something or an answer about something and nine times out of ten she would forget to respond or help me in anyway. This made me not wantto come to her with any concerns, or for any help or any

In October 2003, San Diego experienced the Cedar Fire that claimed 273,246 acres, 2,820 structures, and 15 lives (CAL FIRE, 2015). It gained the moniker, The Hundred Year Fire because another fire of its magnitude was not expected for another 100 years (San Diego Fire Facts, 2016). This expectation was short lived because four years after this fire in October 2007, San Diego experienced the largest wildfire in history (San Diego Fire Facts, 2016). This fire gained the name, Witch Fire (CAL FIRE, 2015). These fires highlighted that there were not enough fire fighters and resources to combat such fires. They highlighted areas that lacked emergency service protection and showed a lack of preparedness (San Diego Fire Facts, 2016). Years after the fires, some changes that came about include: wood shake shingles being banned on new construction and could not be used as roof replacements (Mainar, 2013) and 100 feet became the new defensible space, an increase from 65, between the fuel, for example vegetation, of the fire and the structure (Mainar, 2013). There s an increase in code compliance officers in the field from two to seven (Mainar, 2013). Evacuation procedures and notices were

These innovations opened the doors to the Age of Exploration, an era that started in the 15th century, where it s effects are still seen in the world today. It began as few mere explorations to numerous expeditions. An age where Europeans would go explore, expand, and colonize new found land. It was also known as a race between the European countries for fame, wealth, and power. Due to these explorations, the trade network has significantly expanded, which improved the European economy and has increased the geographic knowledge of the world. The cause of these explorations arose due to the appealing demand for fame, wealth, and knowledge as well as to increase the faith of Christianity. Prior to the Age of Discovery, Europeans have enhanced their technology and increased their geographical knowledge. In the past, European navigated through the seas by observing their environment or by using portolan charts to guide them through them the Mediterranean sea. However, because of Prince Henry the Navigator, Europeans were able to travel farther with much more accuracy. Henry designed a nautical map which helped explorers travel away from shore without the possibility of being lost. This gave them the opportunity to discover more land, past their usual limits seen in the portolan charts. Not only was he able to create an efficient map, he also taught others the knowledge

Name: Jennifer Diane Ulloa SOAS ID: 643951 Course: Global Diplomatic Studies and Practice Tutor: Goitom Gebreluel Title: Have developments in digital technology fundamentally changed the nature of diplomacy or are they simply new means to pursuing the same ends? Word count: Intro: This uncertainty reflects a growing awareness that a transformational international system still dominated by sovereign states is having to respond to change at several interrelated levels. Whilst complex policy agendas still demand a central, if changing, role for the state, many of the norms, rules and roles associated with diplomacy as it has developed over the last few centuries are no longer fit for purpose. Clearly, fundamental questions regarding the purposes of diplomacy, who is or should be involved in it and what forms and practices it should assume to deal with new policy challenges need to be urgently addressed. This applies to international organizations as well as the institutions of national diplomacy and offers a fundamentally different perspective from that based on the familiar claim that diplomacy is irrelevant to contemporary global needs. Rather, diplomacy has a central role but needs to adapt to the demands of a rapidly changing environment. Against this background, a central assumption of this report is that diplomacy as a set of processes continues to be of central importance to the global policy milieu and that these processes need to be constantly re evaluated.
  • 32. The Supreme Court Struck Down The Mccain Feingold Act The demons of a misinterpreted judicial review have corrupted the legislature, the courts, and our political process. In 2010, the Supreme Court struck down the McCain Feingold Act as unconstitutional. The landmark Citizens United v Federal Elections Commission decision ruled that political spending is a form of free speech and corporations have license to contribute exorbitant amounts to politicians. Citizens United ensures denies the voices of citizens as representatives are beholden to outside interests rather than their constituency. I, Justice John B. Gibson, hold that the power of judicial reviewis too widely interpreted and, to keep government officials accountable, must be vested in the masses to rediscover some twinge of our once budding representative democracy. The Supreme Court often oversteps its perceived legal sovereignty when using judicial review. Article III of the Constitution solely vests the courts the judicial power of the United Statesnever mentioning the power of judicial review. The judiciary s duty, according to the law of the land, is to interpret the laws, not scan the authority of the lawgiver (Gibson, J.). The judiciary has not followed a strict interpretation of the constitution; rather, it has encroached on the power of the legislative branch and the sanctity of the separation of powers. If the Constitution were to come into collision with an act of the legislature (Gibson, J.), the Constitution would take precedent, but it is
  • 33. The Theme of Death in The Dead Essay Although a scene of a funeral home might come to mind when a reader first hears a short story aptly named The Dead, the tale actually takes place in the festive setting of a winter dance at the home of the two aunts of the main character, Gabriel Conroy. James Joyce s short story The Dead has a literal title, because its main concept is deathboth physical death and spiritual death. Gabriel Conroy and his wife, Gretta Conroy, attend a party held by Gabriel s aunts, Kate Morkan and Julia Morkan. The mood of the party is intentionally festive. It s an annual event the Misses Morkan s annual dance (1227). But parts of the evening turn out to be quite nostalgic. The nostalgia comes from certain guests attending the party who are... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After Gabriel s speech, the door is open and the freezing outside air is being let into the room. Because of the cool air, Kate demands that the door be closed because Mrs. Malins will get her death of cold. (1241). Although surely Mrs. Malins is in danger of catching cold, the phrase death of cold is an intentional exaggeration to bring the reader s mind back to the concept of death. A ghostly light is also present in the hotel room where the Conroys are staying (1245). The environment in which the characters interact is also saturated with death symbolism. Gabriel sees two works of art in the house. The first piece of art on the wall is a picture of Romeo and Juliet, who are two international symbols for death. The second piece of art on the wall that Gabriel sees is of Edward IV s two sons, who were killed. The reader at the time that this story was published would have probably understood the story of Edward IV s two sons, thus again bringing his or her mind back around to the concept of death. There is also a photograph of Gabriel s deceased mother on display in the house (1232). But images of death are not the only things in the environment to reinforce the theme. Mr. D Arcy sings the song The Lass of Aughrim, which is about a girl who commits suicide, an obvious story of death (1243). The story also represents spiritual death. The spiritual death is not as prevalent in the story as the

The unknown compounds, Acid 2 and Alcohol D, were identified by using the knowledge of the reaction that took place, and the identity of the product that was synthesized. The identification of the product resulted from analysis of IR and NMR spectra. For this experiment, Alcohol D and Acid 2 reacted in the presence of concentrated sulfuric acid, resulting in a colorless solution with brown layer on top. After washes with sodium bicarbonate and brine, the pale yellow liquid product was dried and then distilled. Distillation resulted in two colorless fractions, the second of which had a boiling point of 69 70 ЛљC. This boiling point is unrealistic for any compound obtained in this experiment, so it was not used in identifying the product. After distillation, both fractions were spectroscopically analyzed. The IR and NMR spectra obtained for both fraction were identical, meaning both fractions contained exactly the same substance. Both fractions also smelled the same, like piГ±a colada, therefore confirming this conclusion. This outcome also meant that the amount of product synthesized was 5.7393 g. For the identification of the product, IR, 13C NMR and 1H NMR spectra were examined, and the product was found to be butyl propionate. In the IR spectrum, RM 11 Bi, five key peaks are observed. These peaks are sp3 hybridized carbons at 2961 cm 1 and 2877 cm 1, an ester at 1737 cm 1, a

How Did The Western Schism Affect The Catholic Church The Western Schism: And Its Impact on the Catholic Church Jacob Stickney Western Civilization II Professor Jennifer Fast November 14, 2016 The Catholic Church s response to the Western Schism was vastly important to its respectability and authority in regards to the faithful of that time. The Western Schism was only a temporary misunderstanding, even though it compelled the Church for forty years to seek its true head; it was fed by politics and passions, and was terminated by the assembling of the councils of Pisa and Constance. 1 After the Avignon Papacy, the Catholic Church had three men claiming to be pope. One man elected in Rome, one in Avignon, France, and one elected by the Council of Pisa. This was very detrimental to the Catholic theology which states that it can trace every pope back to St. Peter, the first pope. The Catholic faithful were not sure which of the three men was the true pope and which, if any of them, they should listen to. It was a very confusing time for all the faithful living in this time, and a very annoying situation for the true pope who was now seen by many to be as questionable as the other two in regards to not being the true pope. The three men knew what a mess this situation was and two of them wanted to deal with the situation, so as to reduce confusion among the faithful. The anti pope John XXIII called the Council of Constance to deal with this situation. He offered to resign from the papacy, that he was never in possession of, if the other two men would as well. The council met to depose of the two anti popes, to deal with heretical teachings, and to protect the succession of the papacy. This council is one of the most important ecumenical councils, as it helped to affirm the succession of the pope and to help to resolve the confusion caused by these anti popes. The Council of Constance was called in 1414 by the Anti Pope John XXIII. It was called to resolve the conflict regarding the papacy and to identify the true successor of St. Peter. Between November 1414 and June 1415, the council had a total of 13 sessions, dealing with the papacy and how the pope was chosen. The council, enacted Haec Sancta (fifth session, 15 April 1415),

Some similarities they both have are dominant power that both of them are powerful and have huge impact on other countries in their time and cultural diversity which they both have an open society made up of many people. Moreover, moral decline was the main reason for collapsing of Roman Emperor; America suffered the decline of moral value for a long time. In 2015, the decline of the moral is most considerable issue for America because the rate of single parent families is rising and the greed in the corporations or organizations is increased as the same as Rome. Like the moral value decline in Rome was caused by the fall of father role in the families, America have been suffering from the moral decline because of the rise in the single parent families. The rise in the single parent families is the same kind of the fall of father authority because single mothers rate is increased than the single father s rate. There were about 12 million single parents families in U.S, and more than 80 percent were led by the single mothers according to the Census Bureau s American Community Survey. Therefore, the role of father is declined; and the mothers play an important role in the single parent familyby working, doing housework and raising their kids. The more rising the single mothers rate, the more failing the fathers authority in the families. However, Rome and

As a woman grows up, she creates her dreams of being a mother, strong bond, and attachment to this world; she naturally belongs to this hood. Motherhood then becomes waking up in the middle of the night to make sure that her child is well tucked in and to give her full attention, care, and love to a child. It is a harsh world, tiredness and exhaustion sometimes. Through the endless journey, she consumes her real, metal and emotional power and energy for the sake of her own children s comfort and happiness. Strangely, if asking any motherabout her life as a mother? She would happily say that being a mom is the most satisfying feeling she has ever had. Most important chore in motherhood trip is to teach a child to grow up, as nothing equals the happiness of a mother when finally, she knows that she raised a successful human being. As we will learn in this essay, how is Peter s mother in Peter the Rabbit is different than Charles s mother in Voices in The Park . Both stories hold the Growing up process theme. We ... He now knows how Mr. Rabbit cars or him and love him and she will always be there for him no matter what happens even if he makes some mistakes. The historical site that I have decided to expand my research on is, the Hamilton Grange National Memorial located in Harlem, New York. This site was the home of Alexander Hamilton , one of the seven foreign born Founding Fathers of the United States of America. He had a great influence on the foundation of the United States of America, the United States constitution and the Federalist Party. He was a Military officer, lawyer and member of the US constitutional convention, an American political philosopher, and author of the majority of the Federalist Papers. Alexander Hamilton was born on January 11, 1755 in Charlestown, Nevis, in British West Indies. While working at a shipping company in Nevis, he gained recognition from local contributors who offered him a formal education. This led to Hamilton coming to New York at the age of seventeen (1772) to earn an education at Kings University, which is now Columbia University. During his college career, Hamilton caught an interest in American politics, specifically, the American Patriots. Eventually, he became a huge supporter of the patriots revolutionary movement against pro British loyalists. Hamilton educated himself on the revolutionary movement enough to write political articles that legitimized revolutionary actions. These articles caught the attention of many people and political

Being easily able to validate a claim or narrative account through another is also a huge benefit of the method making it easier for the truth to come out and harder for lies to see the light. Personal narratives and information gained from narrative methods tend to come from truthful sources based on not wanting to tarnish individual s credibility, and not seeing a reason in creating lies and misleading information. Nevertheless, many problems can also be seen within the method harder and less likely to prevent. Using these criteria, South Korea and Kia have a distinct disadvantage on the world market. Demand Conditions The demand conditions in South Korea have been unparalleled in other countries in recent history. In 1963, the per capita Gross National Product (GNP) was $100. This has grown to $20,000 per capita and South Korea is now the seventh largest trading partner with the United States (Background Note: South Korea, 2008). This growth in GNP is staggering considering that it took the United States 130 years to grow its Gross Domestic Product ten fold (1870 200) (Barro, 2003). Barro (2003) notes that this growth is fairly evenly distributed. This distribution of income has remained relatively unchanged from 1960 to today (Barro, 2003). I was not only interested in how my audience would perceive my message, but also, in how my own perceptions shape my actions and beliefs in relationship to environmentally friendly behaviors. Initially, I thoughtabout my childhood and growing up and the messages about the environmentmy own parents taught me. Because I grew up on a farm, we were consumed with wasting as little as possible so that our family business would continue to flourish and support us. I decided to focus my media campaign project on the issue of household food waste. According the Environmental Protection Agency, the average American throws out 20 pounds of food per month and spends $2,200 on wasted food. This information helped confirm that I wanted to do my project on food waste. Growing up we had lots of chickens and we fed food scraps to them. With the resurgence of interest in chickens I thought that would be a good topic. But when I started designing and planning material my idea just would not gel. I realized that part of the reason I was struggling is that I no longer have chickens and because of that it was hard for me to make a persuasive case for others to keep chickens. Also, I do not think that my intended audience would be able to have their own chickens. Consequently, I decided to discuss something that was practical and could be
