the following three paradigms; parallel, sequential, and integrated. Most VA programs
are parallel, where the patient receives treatment for SUD in one program and
treatment for PTSDin another. Many SUD PTSD veterans may be unable to navigate
the separate systems or make sense of the disparate messages about PTSD treatment
and recovery. One challenge to dissemination and implementation of EBTs is that of
dual disorders, particularly SUD and PTSD. These patients use costly inpatient
services, tend to have frequent relapses, and are less likely to adhere to or complete
treatment.
Cook, Walser, Kane, and Woody (2006) did a study that had a goal of getting
clinicians to accept Seeking Safety and evaluate its efficacy when treating
veterans, in hopes of bridging the gap of parallel services at the VA to treat

The Importance Of Youth Work Activities
During our time studying in the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu critical decisions
regarding youth work practice were made. One of these decisions was staying to
wait for our boat to the island of Savo. Many of the group woke up early to be at
the port in time to catch our boat to be told that we would be waiting at least another
hour. During the wait the group found a comfortable spot and relaxed. After the hour
ended the group went back to the port in time to catch the boat however, we ended up
waiting another 45 minutes there as the boat needed fuel. Although waiting in humid
30 degree heat is difficult, patience and resilience were shown by all group members
and it provided an important learning opportunity for me which I will take into my
youthwork practice. This wait was not our first nor last in the Pacific Islands and by
the end of the trip I understood what island time was.

about 7,000 students drop out every day. Many students have different problems that
make them decide between crosswords whether to stick to education or go a
different route in life. There are many causes and effects due to the amount of stress
collegestudents go through daily. I know this because I ve been a college studentfor
about 3 months and experience stress almost every day. Three main causes why
college students experience stress is because of academic stressors, social stressors,
and daily hassles. Which leads to dropouts, weight issues, and unhealthy habits.
The first type of stress that college students experience is academically. The workload
is significantly more than the high school workload which means there s less hand
holding during this time period from both teachers and parents. Throughout high
school you re giving do overs however in college do overs don t exist. With
challenging classes, scheduling issues to coordinate, difficult tests and other
academic obstacles, coupled with the most independent nature of the college learning
structure, many new and returning students find themselves studying long, hard hours.
The next type of stress college students encounter is social stress. Freshmen face the
most obvious social challenges because there leaving both there family and friends
behind which is their support system, in most cases if they don t commute back and
forth to school. Trying to create a new social network for the first time away from
home and their parents most students face social stress. Living with a roommate,
balancing friends with school work, often part time jobs, dealing with the dynamics
of adult relationships can all be so difficult to weigh and lead to significant stress.
Lastly, college students feel stress when dealing with daily hassles. Many students
keep crazy hours from staying up late to study, getting up early for classes, and
trying to cram in all the work and fun that can possibly fit. These are all things that
students possibly deal with daily that could cause stress even if its the littlest
