Once a person dedicates their life to something, everything unknowingly changes. Becoming a
marine was more than just a career for Sledge. Sledge definitely changed from the time he went
to boot camp until the end of his combat experience in Okinawa. E.B. s nickname was
Sledgehammer , it didn t particularly match his physical appearance though. He was a shy
college student, who would not have been expected to enter any type of war scene, but Sledge
had in fact chosen this path for himself. Even though his family had begged him to stay in
college as long as possible and avoid the dangers of the war scene, he had not only decided to
join the Marines, but when he was put into officer training, he intentionally flunked out in order
to enlist as a private. His goal was to see combat before the war was over. Sledge begins his
memoir admitting, like many men of the other men joining him that he was prompted by a deep
feeling of uneasiness that the war might be over before [he] could get overseas into combat... (5)

beta reductase (BVR). BV is one of three products produced from heme being catalyzed by heme
oxygenase. Now, BVR, as seen in Figure 1, is known as an enzyme that catalyzes the reduction of
BV s double bond to a single bond on the second and third pyrrole ring. In other words, BVR
reduces BV, which is hydrophilic, using NADPH and yields the product bilirubin, which is

In what s become a most unwelcomed trend of season seven, The Vampire Diaries sidelines its
far more interesting material, yet again, to focus on a boring old game of cat and mouse. Which
is something this show typically does well, even if it s only because they do it so often. Almost
immediately in this case however, the stakes are lowered when we discover from Fake Stefan that
his soul could easily hop into the body of a transitioning vampire, leaving Stefan s body safe. So
while it s not ideal, what with having to sacrifice a human life and all if it really came down to
the wire Stefan could jump out of Marty s dying body and live to fight another few days.
That would also give us more time to spend with Fake Stefan. Who has somehow been the most
enjoyable antagonist of the entire season. Yes, as predicted he s basically Real Stefan with his
humanity switch off, but the portrayal is different enough where you can look at him and truly
believe it s someone else. And, unlike the heretics, Rayna, or The Armory, he was actually fun to
