The problem in the communities of the black and colored people in America is
there need to feel equal to their dominator. What happens with the black and
colored people is they succumb to lower levels than they are worth and capable of
to appease the problem. For example during the separate but equal era black
business were booming, Black Wall Street was thriving, and black children were
just as smart if not smarter than their other counter parts. Not by choice but

An antagonist can be defined as someone or something that is put in the story to
oppose the protagonist or to cause problems that need to be overcome. Throughout
the story, every character in one way or another causes problems, as the story
emphasizes that nobody is perfect. The Orangedrink Lemondrink man could be an
antagonist as he causes Estha great emotional turmoil and traumatizes him. Ammu
and Velutha could be antagonists because if they hadn t had the affair then maybe
Velutha wouldn t be dead and the children wouldn t have been separated and
maybe, just maybe, Sophie Mol wouldn t have drowned in the river. Chacko could

Explain how and why the American colonists were able to defeat the British Empire
in the Revolutionary War. America hardly managed to defeat the British in the
Revolutionary War. At first most nations would have never foresaw the Americans
pulling off this victory. One of the most important advantages the colonists had on
their side was time, and the home turf advantage. The British had to sail troops all the
way from England to America, as well as be able to supply them constantly which
the crown couldn t afford to do forever. Also, as the British recruited thousands of
Hessians, America recruited thousands of so called legalized pirates to aide them in
their quest for freedom. Theses legalized pirates at the end of the Revolutionary War
plundered over 600 British merchant ships. Perhaps if not the most important
advantage was the aide of the French after the Battle of Saratoga. The French
supplied the colonies with weapons, a navy, and also sent soldiers of its own. With
the support of the French, the colonists were able to triumph over the British at the
Battle of Yorktown which lead to the signing of the Treaty of Paris.
