My first work is La Primavera written by the Italian composer Antonio Vivaldi in
1723. La Primavera is one of four violin concertos, each capturing moods and
illustrating stories related to a specific time of year. Each section within this
movement illustrate the most beautiful scenes of the spring season, including birds,
babbling brooks, and a thunderstorm. (Soomo, n.d). My second work is an oil on
canvas painting, titled The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone by Thomas Moran. The
Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone was painted in 1872 and captures the unique
geological formations and diverse and extravagant colors of the Midwestern United

There are various components of a dream. The dreaming process is very complicated
and is still, even today, difficult to understand. One leading contributor to the
comprehension of our dreams was Sigmund Freud. He believed there were four
aspects to the interpretation of dreams and they are manifest content, latent dream
thoughts, wish fulfillment, and dream work. The manifest content can be defined as
the pre interpretation of the dream. It s what you actually see in the dream. The latent
dream thought is what s disguised in the manifest content. It is the symbols found in
the dream. The latent dream thought is the literal meaning of the dream. The dream
work is the work by which the manifest content is converted into latent dream

I m also going to discuss societies views of why and how female athletes portray
themselves and why it s not acceptable. Gender Polarization Gender polarization is
an idea that discusses how American society describes the difference between
femininity and masculinity. According to Krane (2004), female athletes are
expected to fulfill certain hegemonic femininity while refraining from any
masculine ways. Common behaviors construct and reinforce gendered practices as
well as differential distribution of privilege, power, and resources. Behaviors that
are acceptable for men are, and should not be seen as suitable behaviors for
women. In western culture, it is stressed that a womanly body figure and behavior
contradicts with a body and behavior of an athlete (Krane et al. 2004). The theory
of gender polarization extends from explaining the difference between sex and
gender. Sex is what you are born as (i.e. man or woman). Gender is how one

The prime minister of Ghana and the first African head of a West African country
freed from colonization, Kwame Nkrumah, followed a pan African ideology and
hoped to be the one who would guide Africa in a unified direction, leading an
independent Africa that was industrialized and powerful (Muehlenbeck 2012: 17).
Despite his ambition, or maybe because of it, his policies virtually bankrupted Ghana
through a focus on large industrial projects that did not form a good base for the
industrialization he hoped for in his country. Additionally the discrepancies between
the ways he handled his political relations in private and in public for the sake of
protecting his image contributed to the trouble Ghana faced. Kwame Nkrumahwent to

Firstly, Nkrumah had much difficulty securing the funds to build the Volta Dam.
Originally the British, who were still in control of Ghana at the time, were going to
fund the dam but backed out, citing the high costs and the decline of British colonial
power (Black Power, BBC: 1992). Afterwards, Ghana spent much time trying to
secure the money needed for the project, but the United States was unwilling to
earmark the amount of funds, and Nkrumah was unable to get the World Bank to
approve a loan for the money he needed. The only solution provided was from either
the Soviet Union or the private sector of America, and so Nkrumah found himself
directed toward Kaiser Aluminum (Muehlenbeck 2012: 20). This is where more
issues began to form. Kaiser Aluminum, like some other companies, did not give
Ghana the kind of beneficial deals they sought with their industrialization projects and
Nkrumah did not pursue other options that would have been better deals for his
country. For Kaiser Aluminum, they refused to work with Nkrumah s plan unless he
conceded the use of Ghanaian bauxite and instead let them import it. They explained
this away as just concern for the difference in aluminum quality the bauxite would
provide, but were also largely motivated by the threat of Ghana repurposing the
aluminum
