When I first started this class I was very afraid of being put into the role of
supervisor, but after taking the Self Assessment of Supervision Related knowledge
and skills from the book I was able to learn that there are different types of

We need to be able to be open mind with our clients and supervisee because we
cannot expect every supervisee or client to share the same values or beliefs than
us. Therefore, been open culturally can definitely help us succeed in this field. But
overall something that I bring with me into this counselor/supervision role is the
fact that I am aware that every clients needs to be seem as a unique client or
supervisee. What worked for you within any particular supervisory relationship
should not be overgeneralized s the right way... what worked in that supervision

Personal Statement A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence
stops. Henry B. Adams. For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to
play a big part in children s education, which is why I have decided to enroll for an
education course. I believe that educators have a lifelong impact on their students and
on the development of resilience. Thus, I aspire to inculcate my love for learning into
the next generation, by influencing and inspiring children all through their formal
education.
I have distinctly applied for Special Needs Education because special education has
always been what s near and dear to me in the field of education. Being a special
education teacher would be an inevitably rewarding job, in which I get to watch
my students grow, as I celebrate their small breakthroughs and victories with them.
These small breakthroughs and victories will improve over time and turn into giant

Being a transgender person in today s society is one of the major issues facing
America today. Through education, people will hopefully develop a better
understanding of what it means to be a transgender, and realize that they deserve fair
and equal treatment in our society.
Transgenders are people that feel more comfortable identifying with, and acting as,
the gender opposite of their own. This includes behaving, dressing, and even thinking
like the opposite sex. Bruce/Kaitlyn Jenner is a well known example that has brought
the transgender issue to the country.
Another form of a transgender person is a transsexual. A transsexual is a transgender
who has taken medical steps such as hormone therapy, or even surgery, to change

Recently North Carolina has passed a law that states that in government buildings,
transgenders must use the bathroom of their original sex. North Carolina has taken
the view that grown men should not be allowed into women s restrooms.
This, however, creates a difficult situation for the transgender. For example, a
male transgender dressed as a female, could possibly pass for a female and go
unnoticed as a male. However, when forced to use the male restroom, he is
immediately identified as a transgender. At best they would made fun of, and at
worst they could possibly be in a life threatening situation. The movie Boys Don t
Cry told the true story of a transgender female who was beaten to
