Life Definition Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of life definition can be a formidable task, as the subject matter is
vast and inherently subjective. Life is a complex and multifaceted concept, encompassing a
myriad of dimensions such as biological, philosophical, spiritual, and existential. Defining life
requires delving into the realms of science, ethics, metaphysics, and personal experiences, which
can make the writing process both intellectually demanding and emotionally nuanced.
One challenge lies in navigating the diverse perspectives on life. Scientifically, life is often
described in terms of biological processes, but this reductionist approach may not capture the full
essence of existence. Philosophers and theologians offer varying viewpoints, bringing in notions
of purpose, meaning, and morality. Balancing these perspectives while maintaining coherence
and clarity in the essay can be a delicate task.
Furthermore, the personal aspect adds another layer of complexity. Individuals perceive and
experience life uniquely, influenced by culture, upbringing, and personal beliefs. Attempting to
encapsulate these diverse experiences in a cohesive narrative requires a nuanced understanding
of the human condition.
The ambiguity surrounding the topic poses another challenge. Life's definition is not fixed; it
evolves with time, context, and individual growth. Capturing this fluidity while providing a
structured and insightful essay demands a keen analytical mind and a deft touch with language.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the definition of life is a demanding endeavor that
necessitates a deep exploration of various disciplines, an appreciation for diverse perspectives,
and a skillful synthesis of complex ideas. Despite its challenges, the process can be intellectually
stimulating and rewarding for those who undertake it with diligence and an open mind.

Effect of Aging Population on the Financial Markets
Abstract
The demographic questions have occupied for a few years an important place in the
great debates of economic policy, in France as well as in the principal industrialized
countries. In other words, all the large industrialized countries will know a
considerable ageing of the population during the next decades. In the academic circles
and the business press, they believe that the ageing of the population will have
important effects on the financial markets following the impact awaited on the rates
of saving and the request of the fund s investments. To develop the subject, we will
initially present the various studies made by certain authors to justify the common
claims according to which the demographic factors probably ... Show more content on

This interests the flows of international capital. Several researchers discussed the fact
that the free mobility of the capital, joined to noncontemporary demographic
diagrams through the countries, will help to reduce a fall on the price level of assets.
In the developed economies, the low internal request for assets coming from the
demographic trends taking place can be replaced by the external request taking place
in these countries where the work age of the population is always increasing and
where the savings are higher. This argument can certainly be correct when we treat
with an asset which is easily marketable. Now, in developing international dimension
a little: The economic analyses suggest that the countries in which the work age of
the population increases and where the saving are relatively more abundant than the
investment opportunities must export capital. Similarly, the countries in which the
work age of the population decrease and the number of pensioners increases must
liquidate the assets and import capital. Consequently, at the mean time, we wait until
flows of capital are degraded, rising from the developed economies
Case Study Of Centrum Systems
RXP has acquired Centrum Systems, a Business Process Management (BPM)
company and with this acquisition RXP has acquired six companies in the last one
year. This strategy of growth through acquisition is one of the factors that
contributed a growth rate of 86% and turnover exceeding $56 million over the
financial year 2013 and also helped it to rank third in the list of Business Review
Weekly s (BRW) list of 100 fastest companies in Australia for the year 2014 . But
competition is increasing in the domestic sector with many companies either slashing

services (Exhibit 2).
RXP has very aggressive strategy of acquiring companies which can be seen in the
fact that it has acquired six companies in the last one year. It has acquired Centrum
Systems, a leader in end to end BPM consulting, in November 2014 and Aptus
International Services, a leader in security and identity and access management, in
May 2014 . It has earlier acquired Tintri Inc and Acquisition of Insight4 Pty Ltd. To
fund these acquisitions RXP has raised $20 million in December 2013.
RXP and its staff are also very active in social and fundraising events as can be seen
in the companies sponsoring of Beehive Foundation s Guinness World Record

The Terrace At Vernon
The three different types of color presented in various works in chapter 6 were
local, perceptual, and arbitrary. Local color is the easiest to understand as it is the
typical color of items that we see when pictured in our head. According to Sayre, it is
the color we know an object to be, the way we know a banana is yellow. (Sayre, 126)
A good artist s example is Jane Hammond s Fallen, which exhibits a stereotypical fall
scene with a twist. Perceptual coloris the way it is see from the eye, which depends
on lighting factors. Monet is a good example of an impressionist painter who tried
to paint exactly what his eyes were seeing rather than what the color was supposed
to be. The last concept is arbitrary color, which is a more expressive take on color,
and usually replaces local colors with other ones that are out of the ordinary but yet
fit within the painting, Pierre Bonnard s The Terrace at Vernon is a good example of
this expressive... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Color in this piece is used in a warming way. It is considered local because when we
think of fall we think of leaves on the ground and in all of these color variations.
What this work is really showing is somewhat of a healing aspiration since each
leaf is sewn on with a fallen soldiers name from Iraq. As noted in the book, there is
no actual brown leaves, but the vast warm color spectrum makes it appear that
there are in fact brow leaves. Without color this would not be as effective. The
color for me makes it seem as if each solider matters. Asides from the color
individuality this work presents, it does all bring everyone together in one place,
as the leaves are grouped together so these soldiers can be together as collective
fallen group. Color is also helping inforce the representational theme of this work
since without the typical fall colors this wouldn t be a local color piece, nor
completely
Responsibility Of The Actions Of His Employees As Their...
A great manager is willing to take the responsibility of the actions of his employees
as their leader. Great manager learns from the company s previous mistakes and
are devoted to better the company. Managers should be knowledgeable about the
company, to prepare them to answer any questions the employees or customers
ask. They motivate their employees to be successful and accomplish the company
s day to day task. A great manager listens to employees and customers. They
improve from what they are told and catch on to their own mistakes. Great
managers should know how to handle criticism from an employee or customer. For
instance, say John the manager of Starbucks gets told he is a lousy manager, who
doesn t know what he is doing. John has the choice of either feeling bad for himself,
getting angry, or learn from his mistakes. The better choice would be to learn from
his mistakes. This will allow John to understand to better in a function he lacks in
which is organizing.
In the Management textbook there are four main functions a Great manager should
be skilled in planning, organizing, leading, and control. Good managers don t
neglect any four management functions (Pg 8). Great managers see their employees
as a team and also a family. A good manager gets to know their employees. They use
smarter goals and delegate authority. Get some insight into the lives of the people you

The 10th of July was the date when two bombs exploded and sunk the Greenpeace

Mururoa Atoll against the French nuclear testing in the South Pacific. The
Rainbow Warrior was hit trying to neutralise the ship ahead of its planned protest,
French agents had worn diving gear and they had placed two packets of plastic
wrapped explosives to it, one by the propeller, one to the outer wall of the engine
room. The two explosions sunk the Rainbow Warrior and shock the harbour. That
night on the Rainbow Warrior, there had been a birthday celebration, people on
board the vessel for this celebration was several crew members and some locals. At
around 11.30 at night, members had been asleep in their cabins, while the others had
either left the ship or were up talking over strategies and plans. Underwater charges
had been placed on her hull by French agents who dived underwater, blowing two
holes in the ship. The Rainbow Warrior had sunk almost immediately. The crew all
managed to escape, except a photographer named Fernando Pereira, who drowned

What are Nano Structured Magnetic Materials
Nano structured magnetic materials, CoFe2O4 and CoCr0.9Fe1.1O4 were prepared
using the Citrate gel chemical synthesis with a crystallite size of 6.5nm and 10.7nm
respectively. Structural characterization was done by X ray diffraction analysis and
magnetic properties were studied using Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM).
Magnetization measurements as a function of field В±10T at temperatures 5K, 25K,
310K and FC/ZFC magnetization measurements under a field of 100 Oe for a
temperature ranging from 5K 400K were studied. The blocking temperature (Tb) for
both the ferrites was resulted at around 355K. Below blocking temperature they
showed ferromagnetic behavior and above, superparamagnetic behavior that favors
their application in the biomedical field. The substitution of Cr3+ ions for Fe3+ ions
has resulted in a decrease in magnetization and the coercivityof the samples.
CoCr0.9Fe1.1O4 nano ferrites with low coercivity of 338 Oe make them desirable in
high frequency transformers due to their very soft magnetic behavior.

Nano structured magnetic materials have been the interest of the researchers in
recent years due to their remarkable properties compared to their bulk counterpart.
Among these, magnetic spinel nano Ferrites (MFe2O4) are of great importance as
they exhibit novel properties that largely differ from the bulk counterparts due

Ideas and reforms for an improved access to high quality primary health care in
Ontario: AOHC s perspective
Purpose
The purpose of this briefing note is to provide top three recommendations for the
policy actions that AOHC should advocate in order to improve timely access to
primary health care in Ontario.
Background
Primary care is considered to be the first point of contact with the health system for
the people of Ontario and is recognized, as the building block of the entire health
system. Every individual in the province needs a timely access to this service in
order to maintain a healthy living. Ontario s medical system focuses on delivering
high quality primary care, but certain gaps within the system have resulted in an
inequitable access to healthcare services.
Are Ontario s primary care reforms meeting the needs of its residents?
Despite large investments in primary care reforms (PCR) over the years, there still
hasn t been a significant impact in certain areas of the health system, particularly
those related to the access to care . The Health Quality Ontario (HQO) data from
2014 shows that almost 94% of the adults have a primary care provider, which has
risen from 92% in 2006 1, 2. While the percentage of Ontarians who have a primary
care provider has grown, most Ontarians are unable to get an appointment to see
their doctor the same day or the next day when they become sick 2. Less than half of
the population (44.3%) of the Ontarians are able to see their
The Impact Of The Treaty Of Versailles On History
The treaty of Versailles meant different things to different groups of people. For
France and Britain,it was not particularly significant event because it had a main
impact in the government and not in the society. On the other hand, the United States
had very significant events because the Great depression caused chaos for the entire
country. Ultimately, it had a greater impact on Germanybefore because it left the
economy devastated leading to the rise of Hitler. The treaty of Versailles
caused a
tremendous impact on history because of the following reasons:
The settlement of Versailles was unfathomably significant as a result of the making of
the League of Nations. All of the major nations would try to join the league, such as

Tennessee Williams s Tragic Comedy
Once Williams made a name for himself, during his time at school, he rose in
popularity rather fast. While he was at the start of his career, he would become so
full of energy [h]e probably needed some of those boosters to help maintain that
fast paced, energetic level of performance (Herbert 65). Even though he was
energetic enough and look as if to have unlimited jokes, he was said to have stolen
other comedian jokes. Many other comedians would not perform in front of
Williams in case he decided to steal their work. Ultimately, he began staying outside
whichever club he was performing at that night so one could blame him for stealing
jokes but, there [appeared to be] some professional jealousy going on (Herbert 67).

Religion And Authority In The Wanting Seed
in order to reassert control. In its return to irrationality and superstition, the hypocrisy
of the state is highlighted.
3. Religion and Authority
Religion prominently wields its power over characters and sociological conditions in
the three novels, and is therefore used to unite, divide and control.
The appeal of religion seems to be at its greatest when man is at his most savage, and
that is perhaps why religion can wield much authority. In dire circumstances, religion
is a tool for the state in The Wanting Seed to supervise the population both
psychologically and numerically. Despite the repugnance of cannibalism, Burgess
leads us to grudgingly admit that the consumption of soft, properly cooked man is an
absurdly practical self regulating mechanism for curbing overpopulation.
Similarly in Survivor s Creedish church, Tender s entire existence is a result of the
mass control and production of people through church doctrine. Adam, his older
brother, explains, to Creedish parents, their children were chattel...you were bred
and trained and sold ; non firstborns were brainwashed to be obedient cleaners in
the wicked outside world who then remitted their salaries to the church. Tender was
always a product, first religiously abiding by Creedish orders, then his agent s orders,

In fact, it was Bokonon himself who convinced the ruler of San Lorenzo to outlaw the
religion in order to give the religious life of the people more zest, more tang . This
pretense of antagonism between the religion and the state seems ridiculous, but it
does actually serve its purpose of distracting the San Lorenzans from their squalid
reality. At the heart of it, Vonnegut uses Bokononismto carefully balance the tragic
and comic aspects of human nature

Conformity in Soldier s Home A Japanese proverb says, The nail that sticks out will
be hammered down. Everything one does is to please others, which can be the
entire society. Society is based on conventions. Most of society conforms as a whole,
otherwise one may appear to be outside of the society that they live in, becoming
unconventional or dangerous to the norm of their society. These conventions have a
major role within society because they are general agreements on a social behavior.
The force making toward conformity in society is essentially the stability of the

Although it is considered indecent to admit lying, lying is unavoidable to merge with
society.
Any newcomer must self deceive and hide their identity in order to conform to the
delusive norms. However, these self deceiving lies distort reality in the expense of
preserving a positive self perception, which results in the loss of one s true identity.
In facing the demands of people wishing glorious, embellished war stories of
Krebs, he enters a complex dilemma. Krebs desires to gain acceptance, become a
participant, and externalize his emptiness to empathize with others, but becomes
disgusted when he realizes that by self deception, he will become guilty from the
burden lies that weighs heavily on him. What would happen if one chooses to avoid
self deception and view the true scope of the delusive norms? The result would be
the detachment from society. From the point one chooses to reject conformity,
connection will be lost from the convention of society. One s true identity will
become absolutely meaningless if society does not accept it. Identities are only first
formed when there are the majorities of people in society that approves it. An
identity that is rejected by the majority is the same thing as being nonexistent.
Although it is still possible to enjoy the view of the world, involvement in society
will become minimal. The lack of verboseness of the narrator conveys the void inside
Modernism In The Waste Land By T. S. Eliot
Modernism , broadly , comprises the creations and the actions of those who realized
that the conventional forms as art , literature , architecture , sciences , religious faith
became old fashioned in the modern industrialized world . Baldick stated that
Modernist literature is characterized chiefly by a rejection of 19th century traditions
and of their consensus between author and reader ( 159 ) . This literary movement
had its root in the late 19th century and early 20th century . T.S, Eliot , one of the

In The waste land , Eliot referred to The Bible , myths and works of old literature .
With its fragmentary images and obscure allusions, the poem is typical of Modernism
in requiring the reader to take an active role in interpreting the text ( Kuiper , Para 1 )
. The title of the poem is a reference to a myth called The fisher king which recounts
a story about a king who get injured causing his kingdom to become waste ( barren ) .
Throughout the text , Eliot referred to the works of Shakespeare , The Tempest (
Line 48 , 191 , 257 ) , Antony and Cleopatra ( line 77 ) , Hamlet ( line 172 ) and
Coriolanus ( Line 417 ) . Furthermore , in The Burial of the Dead ( First section of
the poem ) , Eliot referred to Richard Wagner Tristan und Isolade ( 19th century

to a song from his GГ–TTERDГ„MMERURG opera ( Line 266 291) . Moreover ,

C. S. Lewis The Screwtape Letters
On the Grammar Structure and Style of C.S. Lewis s The Screwtape Letters C.S.
Lewis s The Screwtape Letters, an iconic piece of literary and theological artwork,
employs an interesting conglomeration of tone, structure, and meaning that
continues to transform the thoughts of many who read it. In true Lewis fashion, the
grammatical structure in The Screwtape Letters was carefully orchestrated with
unique use of clauses, mechanics, and more to illustrate his equally unique
thoughts. Hooper s C.S. Lewis: A Complete Guide to His Life and Works describes
the revealing of the conception of the book in a letter from Lewis to his brother,
Warnie Lewis. C.S. had been listening to Adolf Hitler speaking persuasively over
the radio the night before the letter was written; in it, he explains his awe at human
word crafting. Statements which I know to be untrue all but convince me, at any rate
for the moment, if only the man says them unflinchingly, said Lewis, still thinking
of Hitler s persuasiveness, when he conjured up the idea for a book while sitting in a
service at Holy Trinity Church in Oxford, England (Hooper 267). Hence,... Show

He goes on to explain why there were not more letters written, and why he had not
published them immediately. Because he was writing from the perspective of a devil,
he had to obtain a diabolical attitude of sorts one that he said produced an intense
spiritual cramp. Still in the preface, he explains his grudge against the book because
it had almost smothered him. This reminds one of the musings of French literary
theorist, philosopher, and linguist Roland Barthes in La Mort de l auteur (The Death
of the Author, 1968). Barthes s theories in authorship and literary structuralism may
be used to allude to a similar concept Lewis explained in his preface. Barthes
Imagery In Plato s Allegory Of The Cave
Some of the key images Plato uses in his Allegory of the cave are the shadows
coming from the fire the prisoners see as they are chained up. Every time a
prisoner gets a glimpse of these shadows they can t help but wonder what these
shadows represent. Since the prisoners have been locked up away for most of their
lives they really have know understanding what these shadows are. The shadows
represent a worldthat only the prisoners know, its really the only world or way they
have known. These shadows are never fully understood by the prisoners until one of
the prisoners is set free. When the prisoneris freed from his imprisonment he is then
shocked by what he witnesses. The prisoner sees a whole new world; this world was
very shocking to him because he had no idea that this world had even existed in the

I think that in this case the appearances the prisoners witness are the shadows they
can see from the fire. I think that the reason the other prisoners didn t believe the
man that was freed was because their imprisonment was the only world they had
ever known. I think that this story is a good example of being enlightened
/educated or discovering the truth. I think that the truth in this story in this story is
the new world the released prisoner saw. He had been enlightened that his
imprisonment was not only the bad life, but it wasn t the only life he could have.
He had a sense of comparing the two worlds so he could which was the good life
and which was the bad life . The reality would have to be the new world that the

What Is The Theme Of Bohemian Rhapsody
With its evolving and unique sound, Bohemian Rhapsody by the British band Queen
may be one of the strangest, most inspired and least understood songs in the history
of rock. Released on October 31, 1975 in the album A Night at the Opera, Bohemian

This sound perfectly matches the character s reaction to their judges, which anger
and defiance. This can be seen from the lyrics So you think you can stone me and
spit in my eye, So you think you can love me and leave me to die, Oh baby, can t
do this to me baby, Just gotta get out, just gotta get right outta here . However, this
doesn t last long, for after a short and powerful guitar riff, the song shifts to a down

Pc Industry
From the mid 1970 s the structure of the PC industry had experienced a huge
growth and changed dramatically. In 2001, 40% of the PC shipments were
accounted by the top four PC vendors namely: Dell, Compaq, Hewlett Packard (HP)
and IBM.
Dell, a direct sales pioneer, grew exponentially in the 1990s and emerged as the
worldwide market leader in 2001. During 2001 2002 it was the most profitable
among the market leaders. Compaq came up with a full range of PCs ranging
between $1,000 and $10,000. Whereas, IBM, which at once had a market share of
30%, was at this time going through a dramatic restructuring to stop its market share
and profits from deteriorating further. Whereas, HP maintained a comparatively
smaller share in PC sales. Besides ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1998, Compaq moved into direct sales , a change from its dependence on a vast
distribution network.
Despite all these changes, Compaq continued to struggle financially, lost its shares to
Dell and offered to sell the firm to HP.
HEWLETT PACKARD (HP):
HP, a company which initially specialized in electronic instruments and medical
instruments, added computers and related products to its portfolio. Around 43% of
its sales were majorly generated from imaging and printing, and only 20% sales
was generated from PCs. In the late 1990s, HP began to shift focus from its
proprietary software towards open architecture and Wintel. They also moved into the
highly fragmented IT services business which had a comparatively slower growth
and lower margins. Later on, HP also considered acquiring Compaq in 2002.
IBM:
With sales of around $86 billion, in 2001 IBM was the world s largest computer
company. Major part of its revenue i.e., about 43% was generated from hardware
sales, 38% from services, 14% from software sales and the rest was caught up by
maintenance, financing etc. IBM s trademark historically has been its horizontal and
vertical integration, making them leaders in mainframe computers. However, IBM
still faced failures in some areas failed to secure the ownership of PC platform,
losing its position of being number one in PC shipments and losing about 1 million in
the PC business. IBM started streamlining its operations by assembling almost 30% of
The Importance Of Secret Identity Or Stolen Identity
Secret Identity or Stolen Identity
How many, in this group has a computer, phone, and/or a tablet? How many have a
mobile internet connection, or a local internet connection available for you to use?
If you said yes to any of those, then it is likely you have an email address, you have
given your home address on a website, entered credit card information, and possibly
do online banking. Life is filled with hoops, jumps, and seemingly impossible
boundaries. However, when including technology, it allows an extra vulnerability to
you. Unfortunately, some of those vulnerabilities are directly related to people with
only one goal, to cause problems. In the growing world of technology, the ability to
steal personal information is becoming much easier than ever before. With society
switching to the cyber world as a more convenient way of life, it is imperative to take
the proper methods for protecting your information.
Before taking the proper methods, it s important to know what the criminal does to
steal your information. The criminal uses malware, short for malicious software,
which is any form of software being used against the user s permission. Forms of
malware, such as ransomware, spyware, and root kits are some you may heard of,
but are only a portion of the tools used to steal a user s precious information. A
hacker can use his computer at all hours of the week to dig for information that a
user leaves unprotected. If the user is not carefully and well prepared, the hacker
Darkness And Darkness In John Milton s Relation To
Darkness
Perhaps, within one line, Milton describes the nature of all emitted light; that it
must, if we are to call it light, be considered in relation to darkness and that
darkness must be considered in relation to light; that a thing cannot be without its
opposite, since any one member of an antithesis cannot exist without a counter
member, or an anti member; as a white horse cannot be compared to a black one
without the black one being present; A cannot be compared to B unless B is
present; by extension, an antithesis works by expressing two extremities of any one
quality, the antithesis of white is black, since, if we were to evaluate colour, white
suggests the prescience of white and the absence of black, and vice versa. But, to
what degree is blackness said to exist in whiteness? Are they two separate qualities?
Is one merely the absence of the other? Is so, the true nature of the antithesis is of one
existent thing to a non existent thing. Suppose we are to compare lightness to
darkness: if lightis said to exist, as an emission which illuminates darkness, then light
can only be considered as something which illuminates darkness, and thus can only
be considered in relation to darkness; likewise, if we are to call darkness that thing
which covers light, it must be considered in relation to its opposite, which supposes
that both exist; but, if we suppose that both exist, than darkness cannot be the absence
of light but must rather be covering of it. We run into problems,

she informed him that she could not talk to him at her duty station, and he hung up
on her. He called her back and left a number where he could be reached. She left the
work area and went to the break room to call him. After returning to her duty station,
Rodman got another telephone call from her boyfriend who told her to go
downstairs to the lobby to meet him and pick up the keys. When she refused, he
told her that if she did not come down he would come up to her department.
Claimant left the department to confront her boyfriend, and, because her supervisor
was at lunch in the hospital cafeteria, Rodman notified a co worker, a registered
nurse, that she was leaving. Rodman testified, I didn t want any kind of
confrontation at the desk, so I went downstairs. Before she left her desk, Rodman
called the employer s security guard and asked him to meet her in the lobby because
she anticipated that a problem could develop. When Rodman got to the lobby, her

point the security guard arrived and observed them arguing. Rodman was in the

Outsourcing of America Essay
Outsourcing of America
In an increasingly globalize society, it is nothing new to hear about product
development and assembly going abroad. Factory jobs have been moved to other
nations for decades, and more recently, customer call centers are being relocated to
foreign nations. With the current downturn in the economy, people are looking to at
this situation in an increasingly negative way. Not all work that moved abroad ended
in satisfaction, yet the trend appears to be spreading to new jobs and industries. With
the growing population of college educated in foreign nations, software development
jobs are shipping overseas. With many incentives associated with outsourcing to
various countries versus keeping jobs in the country, ... Show more content on

The end result of the component outsourcing should yield reusable components. The
next type of outsourcing required that the customer organization simply contracts for
an external group to perform all or part of the functions of one or more of their
process steps. Process component outsourcing means that requirement development,
design phase, coding phase, test phase, or the maintenance phase is outsourced to
another location. Most commonly the testing phase of the software development
process is shipping out of house. Finally there is Software Acquisition, where all
software development is sent to another location company. Outsourced work can be
sent to another company and/or another country. In this paper, we will concentrate on
work that is outsourced to another country. This may mean the company creates and
staffs an office abroad, or hire an international outsourcing firm. Which ever way
companies decide to outsource the work the motivation behind the strategy is the
same.[2]
There are many perceived advantages to outsourcing software development work to
other locations. The first of these advantages is cost. When outsourcing work to
foreign nations, a company can save a great deal of money since the dollar goes
further in other nations, therefore software developers can be paid less. Even when
outsourcing to local companies a
Essay about Fannie Mae Case
Fannie Mae case.
Federal regulators noted a growing string of high profile scandals at major U.S.
corporations in recent years. The number of fraud cases investigated by the
Securities and Exchange Commission jumped 41 percent in the last three years (112
cases in 2001 compare to 79 cases investigated in 1998), resulting in tens of millions
of dollars in fines to settle the charges.
I have decided to take a closer look at Fannie May. This company operates in the

The effects on Fannie Mae, a highly politically connected company, could be
enormous. The company holds over $1 trillion in assets, and purchases more
mortgage loans than any other lender in the U.S.
When the accounting errors first emerged Fannie Mae estimated that there would be
an adjustment of about $9 billion in its reported earnings over the contested period.
That number has since increased to over $11 billion but may increase again as further
irregularities discovered with insurance related issues. No estimate of these additional
potential revisions is currently available.

Analysis Of George Berkeley s Philosophy
George Berkeley is considered one the greatest modern philosophers, yet when he
is studied he is seen as misguided and inaccurate. It seems that sometimes we study
his errors more than his achievements. Many critiques of Berkeley are results of
misunderstanding Berkeley s philosophy. One very famous critique is from Samuel
Johnson who lived around the same time as Berkeley. Johnson kicked a stone and
said, I refute it thus . Why did Johnson believe he could refute Berkeley by kicking a
stone? Did he misunderstand Berkeley, and if not what did he mean by this?
To discover what Johnson meant we must first learn about what he was refuting.
Berkeley has three main beliefs: 1. Idealism: the only things that exist are minds
and their ideas; 2. Phenomenalism: Physicals objects are big collections of possible
senses; and 3. Immaterialism: there is no such thing as a physical substance
(something that exists independently). With Berkeley s beliefs he has two
motivations: 1. to oppose skepticism and 2. to promote religion, Berkeley was a
bishop of the Anglican church so you can see why promoting religion was so
important to him.
Berkeley was an empiricist. Empiricism is the theory that all knowledge is derived
from sense experiences. Some other famous empiricists are Thomas Locke and David
Hume. Berkeley is thought to be the bridge between Locke and Hume. Locke
believed that primary qualities such as length, shape, and motion existed in the world.
While secondary qualities such
Research Paper On Alaska
Alaska has a rich history involving many countries. Before the Europeans reached
the Alaskan shores, the early settlers were believed to come from the land bridge
connected to Asia. Alaska is in fact named after Alyeska , the name the Aleut people
called it (meaning The Great Land ). The Alaskan natives, the Aleuts, Yup ik and
Inupiat tribes were in the west and north. The Athabascan were in the center of Alaska
, and the Tlingit and Haida Tribes were in the southeast. In order to survive, the
tribes would hunt and harvest during the late summer and spring. In the winter, the
natives would carve, weave clothes, dance and tell stories. These tribes did not live
in igloos, except when they were traveling during an emergency. The Aleut tribes
lived in barabaras, a house partly built underground. They used whale ribs or
driftwood logs for their door frame. The Athabascans lived in portable tepees made
out of caribou skin. The Tlingit and Haida tribes lived in wood houses that have
several rooms. These tribes lived in peace until the Europeans came.
In the eighteenth century, the Europeans discovered Alyeska in their quest to find a...

The creation of Germany was made possible through the great ideas of Otto von
Bismarck, the Prime Minister of Prussia. This investigation will explore the
question: How did Otto von Bismarck s foreign policy affect the creation of
Germany? The first source that will be analyzed is Jonathan Steinberg s Bismarck:
A Life. This is a very valuable source because Steinberg was a professor at
Cambridge University for 33 years teaching, he now teaches at the University of
Pennsylvania as professor of Modern European History. His teaching covers
modern Europe since 1789, primarily focusing on the German, Austrian Empires,
Nazi Germany, and Fascist Germany showing that he is very knowledgeable on
this topic. The purpose in writing this book is to illuminate the life of the
statesman who unified Germany but who also embodied everything ruthless about
Prussian culture (Steinburg i). Steinberg wants to give an insight on Bismarck s
life, the thinking, and how the type of person he was affected his plan in creating
Germany. In this book Steinberg heavily focuses on contemporary writing,
allowing Bismarck s friends and enemies to tell the story. I met and read the letters
and diaries of the greatest figures in Prussian society (x). This is a strength for it
allows the reader to see how Bismarck friends and foes viewed him as a leader
during the process. While the focus on contemporary writing is a strength, it is also a
limitation because some of the writing towards

Barack Obama and served from 2009 through 2013. Her email difficulties began
during initial tenure as secretary of state (Eugene, 2016). She contended on using
her personal BlackBerry phone for all her email communications, but she was not
permitted to take the phone into Mahogany Row office which is a secure space
(Eugene, 2016). This was very frustrating for Clinton, as secretary of state; she
needed to manage a flood of email to have constant updated communication with
colleagues, friends and enthusiasts (Eugene, 2016). She was not willing to leave
her phone into a lockbox before entering her own office (Eugene, 2016). Her
advisors and senior officials tried to find a way to facilitate her to use the personal

which was afraid that foreign intelligence services could hack her personal phone

However as of more recent, the focus has been to cut spending and this in turn has
affected most notably, Veterans Affairs (VA) and their healthprograms. According to
the VA, VA is charged with fulfilling President Lincoln s promise to care for those
who shall have borne the battle, and for their families and their survivors. To
support this mission, the 2016 Budget provides $70.2 billion in discretionary
funding for VA, a 7.9 percent increase above the 2015 enacted level. In addition,
the budget includes $3.2 billion in estimated medical care collections, for a total
discretionary budget authority of $73.5 billion (which includes $3.2 billion in
Medical Care Collections) and $95.3 billion for VA s mandatory benefit programs.
This increase in budgetary spending can be deceiving as the VA is also seeing an
increase in the amount of veterans claiming benefits. So although there is a budgetary
increase, it is not enough (a deficit) to fulfill all claims made by veterans and/or their
families and therefore is causing the VA to make cutbacks in both military
construction efforts, but more importantly in medical benefits that veterans receive.
For instance, improving veterans access to medical care to include strengthening their
benefits program is a matter of priority. As has been recently of subject in the news,
wait times for veterans has been extreme and inefficient, at times to the detriment of
the health of veterans. Although the increase is aimed at providing more physicians
and improving the VA s physical infrastructure, the budgetary increase lacks the
foresight to address the growing veteran population in concurrence with the needed
changes that are being proposed. In an article published in Military Times on

Eating Meals For A Healthy Meal
Whether you know it or not, everyday a great deal of decisions are waiting to be
made by you. From the time you wake up, to the time you go to sleep at night, you
have made countless choices and commitments. You decide how many times you
re going to hit the snooze button in the morning, when you re going to take your
coffee break, which route you re going to take to get home from work, all along
with a dozen other selections. Ah! I failed to mention though, an important
decision you re faced with normally about three times each day; what are you going
to eat? For some people, their food choice may not be as healthy as others and
sometimes that s okay. But with obesity on the rise like it is today, chances are
their choice of a fattening meal isn t going to be the only time they make it that
week, let alone that same day. Why would someone choose a fattening meal over a
healthy meal though? Even though they might not even know what s inside their

Zinczenko struggled to find alternatives. He claims, lunch and dinner, for me, was a

Ultrasounds help in diagnosing problems such as, physical defects and internal
abnormalities of an unborn baby. Ultrasound allows the doctor to see inside the uterus
and provides much information about the pregnancy (Radiologic Society of North
America, 2013). However, some people believe that ultrasound negatively affects
the tissues of the body. When ultrasound enters the body, it heats the tissues
slightly. In some cases, it can also produce small pockets of gas in body fluids or
tissues known as cavitation, (U.S. Food and Drug Administration, 2014). Some
also believe that the force of acoustic streaming during an ultrasound can cause
fetal damage. While the effect of this force is not fully understood, research
suggests that it may change cell permeability and have adverse effects on both
early and late prenatal and postnatal development (Kresser, 2011). So no matter
what procedure is being performed, there are always risks and benefits involved.
Although, most pregnant women are worried about the potential risks of their
unborn child, they are more worried about how their child is developing inside their
womb. Most pregnant women look forward to these exams so they can be aware of
their unborn child s growth and prepare if any abnormalities are
Christopher Columbus and His Discoveries
In 1492, Columbus sailed the ocean blue. Have you ever heard of this famous quote?
This quote is about Christopher Columbus and his discovery of the Americas. On the
first Monday in October, we celebrate Columbus Day, based on the belief that he
discovered the Americas. One might conclude that Christopher Columbus did not
discover the Americas because the Native Americans, Vikings, and Phoenicians had
already set foot there. First of all, when Christopher Columbusset foot in the
Americas, he encountered a large group of Native Americans that had already
inhabited it. This group of Native Americans was called the Taino. The Taino were
the most native people who inhabited the Caribbean. They occupied what are now the
Caribbean Islands of the Virgin Islands, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Cuba,
Puerto Rico, and Haiti. When Christopher Columbus confronted the Taino, he
characterized them as naked as the day they were born. By 1550, close to all the
Taino population was wiped out due to disease spread to the Americas by Spaniards.
Furthermore, the Taino lived a prosperous life before English settlers arrived there.
According to myLOC.gov, the Taino had complex hierarchical religious, political,
and social systems. As excellent farmers and navigators, the Taino created poetry,
music, and powerful, symbolic objects. As I stated above, the Taino eventually was
almost destroyed by foreign diseases. Even though this had happened, the religions,

Essay on Turn Your Computer Into a Jukebox
Turn your Computer into a Jukebox
Are you the type of person who spends twenty dollars on a CD, just because you
like one song, and the remaining tracks are disappointing? Did you know that you
can have your whole CD collection in your computer s hard drive? Are you tired
of listening to the unexciting music played on the radio? Would you like to be able
to make your own CDs? These days it is fairly cheap to have internet access and a
computer that will let you record, store, discover, and download music. In the past,
being able to do this was very expensive and difficult, but when the Mp3 format
appeared and Cd recorders became inexpensive, this revolutionized the way we
experience music. All you need is the right software and ... Show more content on

The software is free, and it connects you with millions of users who share their
songs, and you virtually can find virtually any song you want . Recently I had my
grandmother s birthday, so I figured out that the perfect gift was to give her a mix
CD full of oldies; she couldn t believe how I was able to record them on disc.
The second step is to download the music from Winmix or extract it from a CD; so
you can start building a collection of music. My father, for example, got tired of
loosing and scratching his CDs, so by extracting the music into his computer, he now
has over a thousand
songs stored in his PC. I m a music lover; I enjoy all types of music, from Trance to
Classical, and I can not afford to buy all the CDs I want. The internet and Winmix
give me the opportunity to download only the songs that I like; so I save tons of
money and I discover new artists. Another advantage of this method is that it opens
doors for new artists, because masses have instant access to their music. Critics
believe that this is stealing from them, but on the other hand, the internet may
catapult their careers to new levels. I m not going to spend twenty dollars on a one
hit wonder album. But, from my favorite bands like U2 or Dave Mathews Band, I
gladly spend my money.
After you have created a nice collection of your favorite tunes, you are ready to make
your own CDs or transfer
Racism In Their Eyes Were Watching God By Zora Neale
Hurston
Abraham Joshua Heschel once said, Racism is man s gravest threat to man the
maximum of hatred for a minimum of reason. In the novel Their Eyes Were
Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston, characters face many acts of racial
discrimination growing up while living in the South during the 1930 s. In the novel
Hurston shows how a racial caste system is formed. As the story progresses, the
reader is able to see how the caste system affects different characters in different
ways. This shows that even if people do not experience oppression in the same way
as another, it doesn t mean that they don t bare the same weight, but might react to
the weight differently.
It is often said that kids don t usually understand race or racism, and that is true until
Janie is met with kids who have faced oppression all their lives. Janie is a young
girl who is raised by her grandmother in the deep South during the 1930 s. Janie
lives among many white kids and doesn t realize that she is not white until she sees
a photo of the children and cannot identify herself in the picture. Dat s where Ah
wuz s posed to be, but Ah couldn t recognize dat dark chile as me. So Ah ast, where
is me? Ah don t see me (9). Janie didn t know that she was a black girl because she
had always been treated the same as the white kids, and they never treated her any
differently than anyone else. The only kids that ever abused her with their words
were the other black kids at school, they always teased her for living in
Experiences of World War One in All Quiet on the Western...
Wars have always been events that I enjoy learning about, reading about and just
discovering what went on. So when this project rolled around I had no problem
choosing the novel All Quiet on the Western Front, which was written by Erich
Maria Remarque. Erich had been a German soldier towards the end of WWI and
had, first hand experienced the pure terror that is war. I had heard of this book
through my father who is also a major war enthusiast. Him and I have had numerous
conversations about both World War Iand II, as he was the one that originally
suggested I read this book. I have to say that it was a tremendous suggestion in that
this novelto me seems to be one of the finest pieces of anti war literature ever
penned. The way the novel is able to portray the mindset of a soldier was beautifully
done and shows the complete deterioration that occurs over time. First to understand
more about the novel and its author, Erich Maria Remarque, it would be helpful to
learn about his life. Erich was born on June 22, 1898 (internet source 4) in the
town of Osnabruck Germany. He was born into a poor family to his father, Peter
Maria Kramer, and mother, Anna Marie Kramer (internet source 5). His father was
a bookbinder while Erich was a kid (internet source 5). He also had 2 other siblings
and his family as a whole moved at least 11 during his childhood. To say Erich had a
turbulent childhood would be an understatement; he grew up in circumstances most
people could not even begin
Profit Maximization Model
SAMPLE ANSWER FOR QUESTION 5
Profit making is one of the most traditional, basic and major objectives of a firm.
Profit motive is the driving force behind all business activities of a company. It is
the primary measure of success or failure of a firm in the market. Profit earning
capacity indicates the position, performance and status of a firm in the market. In
spite of several changes and development of several alternative objectives, profit
maximization has remained as one of the single most important objectives of the firm
even today.
Both small and large firms consistently make an attempt to maximize their profit by
adopting novel techniques in business. Specific efforts have been made to maximize
output and minimize production and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are as follows
1. Profit maximization is the main goal of the firm.
2. Rational behavior on the part of the firm to achieve its goal of profit maximization.
3. The firm is managed by owner entrepreneur.
Determination of profit maximizing price and output
Profit maximization of a firm can be explained in two different ways.
В· Total Revenue and Total Cost approach.
В· Marginal Revenue and Marginal Cost approach.
Profits of a firm are estimated by making comparison between total revenue and
total costs. Profit is the difference between TR and TC. In other words, excess of
revenue over costs is the profits. Profit = TR TC. If TR is equal to TC in that case,
there will be break even point. If TR is less than TC, in that case, a firm will be
incurring losses. In this case, we take in to account of total cost and total revenue of
the firm while measuring profits.
It is clear from the following diagram how profit arises when TR is greater than that
of TC.
2. MR and MC approach
In this case, we take in to account of revenue earned from one unit and cost incurred
to produce only one unit of output. A firm will be maximizing its profits when
MR= MC and MC curve cuts MR curve from below. If MC curve cuts MR curve
from above either under perfect market or under imperfect market, no doubt MR
equals MC but total output will not be maximized and hence total profits also will
not be maximized. Hence, two conditions are
Fordham University Observation
Going to Fordham University, I ve always heard about the student friendly bars
located nearby campus. I figured the colorful social dynamic at these bars would
make for important observations that I couldn t pass up. The Friday night ritual of
going to the bars sounded as if it had its own mythos, with police raids replacing
great floods and bouncers replacing riddle making sphinxes. As such, I decided to
leave campus on a Friday at around 11 pm to go to an area with multiple bars that
were known to admit Fordham students under the age of 21. Essentially, I observed
the act of going out . On the way to the bars I noticed a large, but hard to spot,
exchange of people, ideas and even items. Most people moved in large flocks that
tended to fuse and split spontaneously. There were parallel floods of students going
out and returning home. From what I heard while eavesdropping, some students told
others about what lay ahead for instance, cover charges at bars, or people they weren
t fond of and others about... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What appeared to be the main bar was situated on a corner, while two other ones
were to adjacent to each other on the next block and on the opposite side of the
street. I focused my attention on the more important bar on the street corner. It
comprised the first floor of a rugged, two story brick building. A long line of
students, starting at the open door of the bar, snaked along the front of the building
and around the sidewalk on its left side. I got in line and waited about five minutes
to get up to the door. This was perhaps the most critical part of going out . Once it
was my turn to enter the bar, I was approached by the bouncer. He was a tall, barrel
chested man with a wisp of hair on his head and a crooked nose. I showed this man
my license. He nodded upon seeing the year 1996 , accepting my age as good
enough, and proceeded to pat me down to make sure I didn t have any drinks on
Elementary School Fieldwork
The field work that I have done was at the Foundation daycare between 9am and
10:30 am. The daycare is next to the Shaar Hashomayim on Metcalfe and
Kensington Avenue in Westmount. When I first went to the school I went through
the courtyard which had cemented pillars and archways as well as a row of plastic
play houses of a variety of colours and sizes. The doors are all locked therefore I had
to wring the Foundation schooldoorbell. The school has 2 stories; the first story is
where the daycare is and the second floor is where the elementary school is located.
There are 6 classrooms and each classroom has a specific age group. While walking
to the classroom, there are rows of cubbies and hooks along the walls with children s

On this particular day a lot of kids were missing due to the weather so there were
nine kids in class eight girls and one boy between the ages of four and five. The 5
year old boy stood out the most to me the most due to the fact that he was the only
boy in a class full of girls. He was very talkative but, only towards the monitors; he
like holds hands with the monitors and when he is speaking or they are speaking
he gives them I eye contact which he did not do for anyone else. I think this may
be because he feels comfortable with them and he likes the attention that they give
him because he would get a huge smile his face when they praised him or said they
would play with him. He did not speak much to the other kids; he played play
dough at the same table as the other children but, he did not interact with them or
participate in the pretend play. He had short brown hair, slightly tanned skin and
was wearing jeans a red shirt and running shoes. After a little while he went off on
his own and looked at the books in the book section which was the only part of the
classroom in which no one else was there. He also played with a toy dinosaur on
his own he looked a little bored or unhappy because he was pacing around the class
room laying on the floor looking at the ceiling didn t play with anything for more
than 5 minutes. He was the only one who talked to me that day and he told me that
he could write music notes and that he could read them. This means to me that he
is a smart child because not many people could write and read music especially at a
young age. Another kid who stood out to me was a 5 year old Caucasian girl. She
had straight, light brown hair tied up into a ponytail; she had brown eyes and fair
skin. She was a petite girl shorter than a few of the girls and
Charles Dickens Accomplishments
Charles Dickens, a most well known and loved British author of a large number of
works that are now classics, was the foremost writer and public celebrity of the
nineteenth century, he used his personal experiences and hard times that he lived
through as inspiration to write about his stories. During the time of his career in
writing, he wrote the well known and most loved classics, A Christmas Carol,
Oliver Twist, David Copperfield, Nicholas Nickleby, Great Expectations and A Tale
of Two Cities. Dickens became so famous that people would recognize him all over
London as he walked around the city observing things that would be the inspiration

This story tells of the transformation that Ebenezer Scrooge went through from a
tight fisted tempered person to a generous and friendly man. This is brought about
by haunting visions at Christmas that remind Scrooge of his happier days, until
the generous spirit shows him misfortunes. This terrifies him with urgent prospects
if he should not change his ways ( Dickens ). He had no further intercourse with
Spirits, but lived upon the Total Abstinence Principle, ever afterwards; and it was
always said of him, that he knew how to keep Christmas well, if any man alive
possessed the knowledge. May that be truly said of us, and all of us! And so, as Tiny

Introducing My Part of the Center:
Before the introduction begins the teacher will hand each student the square sheet of
paper.
The teacher will say, Okay class I have given you a square sheet of paper and you
should have colored pencils at your desk. Now without talking to your tablemates I
would like you to draw me a picture of a seed.
The teacher will give the students an appropriate amount of time to draw. During this
time the teacher will walk around the room and observe the students.
The teacher will say, Alright times up. I would like everyone to hold up your
drawings for everyone to see.
The students will hold up their pictures and the class will scan the room to look at
everyone s picture.
The teacher will say, You are probably wondering why I had you draw a picture of
a seed. Well today we are going to look at different seeds in our center over here.
This center is going to be a little different than our usual lessons. In the center you
will all be taking turns instead of everyone working at once. The centers are going
to have 3 different challenges that you are going to try and solve on your own. Each

I learned that being able to be independent is a great trait to have, but I learned that
being able to accept help when offered is an even better quality to have. That was
something that I really struggled with, I wanted to be able to do it by myself, and
having one fully functioning arm humbled me to the extreme. I didn t just have to
be able to accept the offered help, I had to be able to ask for help. For me, asking
for help was hard because I ve always just wanted to be on my own and be able to
do it on my own. I learned that needing help is nothing to be ashamed of, and that it
s a highly respected quality. Never shy away from being the person to offer
assistance if someone struggling. One never knows what type of day they could be

Anger In The Absurd Theatre
Anger is a feeling that can be associated with physiology or psychology. Many
factors such as race, class, gender, ethnicity, religion can cause anger. Anger could
be perceived as something natural but also could be perceived as something
disastrous. Anger is not like any feeling as because it is the most severe feeling.
Although it is the most dangerous feeling, people always get angry due to many
reasons (Kim10). Goldhor lerner stated that: Anger is a signal .... It may be a
message that we are being hurt, that our rights are being violated; that our needs or
wants are not being adequately met or simply that something is not right (1).
According to Seneca, anger is a catastrophe that leads to bad things. He argued...

A Brief Note On Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy ( Dnp )
Diabetic Foot Problems Diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DNP), also know as
Neuropathy nerve damage. Diabetes can impair blood flow to your feet and cause
nerve damage (Castro 180). High blood sugar can injure nerve fibers throughout your
body, but diabetic neuropathy most often damages nerves in legs and feet.
Enigmatically, recent reports have described that long term tight glycemic control
may be major risk factor for the development of diabetic neuropathy(Zhang, et al. 1).
Diabetic neuropathy can also affects the eyes, retinopathy, increasing the risk for
glaucoma and blindness. Physicians recommend eye exams every six months to one
year. The eyes must be checked often as vision can deteriorate quickly in patients
with diabetes. A person with diabetes may not be aware of a wound or injury to their
foot due to a decreased sensation in their feet, a condition called diabetic neuropathy.
Therefore, great care must be taken to inspect the feet everyday. Neuropathy is a
chronic condition, which will get worst over the time. Been diagnosed with
neuropathy can change a patients life; this can turn into a chronic disease that will be
treated with adequate medication, maintaining low blood sugars, doing self
examinations of the feet to prevent any further complications and visiting the
physician as directed to do routine check ups.
Diabetic neuropathy begins as a generalized asymptomatic dysfunction of
sensorimotor or autonomic peripheral nerve fibers and is by far the

We need to be able to be open mind with our clients and supervisee because we
cannot expect every supervisee or client to share the same values or beliefs than
us. Therefore, been open culturally can definitely help us succeed in this field. But
overall something that I bring with me into this counselor/supervision role is the
fact that I am aware that every clients needs to be seem as a unique client or
supervisee. What worked for you within any particular supervisory relationship
should not be overgeneralized s the right way... what worked in that supervision
context was influenced by the personalities of the supervisor and supervisee and
well as their race and gender, the supervisee s developmental level, the culture of the
setting, types of client issues, and many other variables (BOOK, PAGE 6). Indeed,
this information is important because is important for us to be aware that every

relationship, experience with all supervisee, these principles play out a unique way
within each supervision
Special Education Personal Statement
Personal Statement A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence
stops. Henry B. Adams. For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to
play a big part in children s education, which is why I have decided to enroll for an
education course. I believe that educators have a lifelong impact on their students and
on the development of resilience. Thus, I aspire to inculcate my love for learning into
the next generation, by influencing and inspiring children all through their formal
education.
I have distinctly applied for Special Needs Education because special education has
always been what s near and dear to me in the field of education. Being a special
education teacher would be an inevitably rewarding job, in which I get to watch
my students grow, as I celebrate their small breakthroughs and victories with them.
These small breakthroughs and victories will improve over time and turn into giant
leaps, which will leave a lasting impact and ultimately change the child s life.
Beyond just educating children with special needs, I aspire to educate the public
about children with special needs and special education. By doing so, I hope to
remove any uncertainty and fear the public has on this group of children. Not only
do I want to impart knowledge on these special children, I also want to advocate for

Transgenders In America
Being a transgender person in today s society is one of the major issues facing
America today. Through education, people will hopefully develop a better
understanding of what it means to be a transgender, and realize that they deserve fair
and equal treatment in our society.
Transgenders are people that feel more comfortable identifying with, and acting as,
the gender opposite of their own. This includes behaving, dressing, and even thinking
like the opposite sex. Bruce/Kaitlyn Jenner is a well known example that has brought
the transgender issue to the country.
Another form of a transgender person is a transsexual. A transsexual is a transgender
who has taken medical steps such as hormone therapy, or even surgery, to change
their physical appearance. Men can take female hormones like estrogen to develop
female features such as breasts. Women can take male hormones like ... Show more

Recently North Carolina has passed a law that states that in government buildings,
transgenders must use the bathroom of their original sex. North Carolina has taken
the view that grown men should not be allowed into women s restrooms.
This, however, creates a difficult situation for the transgender. For example, a
male transgender dressed as a female, could possibly pass for a female and go
unnoticed as a male. However, when forced to use the male restroom, he is
immediately identified as a transgender. At best they would made fun of, and at
worst they could possibly be in a life threatening situation. The movie Boys Don t

Life Definition Essay.pdf

  • 1. Life Definition Essay Crafting an essay on the topic of life definition can be a formidable task, as the subject matter is vast and inherently subjective. Life is a complex and multifaceted concept, encompassing a myriad of dimensions such as biological, philosophical, spiritual, and existential. Defining life requires delving into the realms of science, ethics, metaphysics, and personal experiences, which can make the writing process both intellectually demanding and emotionally nuanced. One challenge lies in navigating the diverse perspectives on life. Scientifically, life is often described in terms of biological processes, but this reductionist approach may not capture the full essence of existence. Philosophers and theologians offer varying viewpoints, bringing in notions of purpose, meaning, and morality. Balancing these perspectives while maintaining coherence and clarity in the essay can be a delicate task. Furthermore, the personal aspect adds another layer of complexity. Individuals perceive and experience life uniquely, influenced by culture, upbringing, and personal beliefs. Attempting to encapsulate these diverse experiences in a cohesive narrative requires a nuanced understanding of the human condition. The ambiguity surrounding the topic poses another challenge. Life's definition is not fixed; it evolves with time, context, and individual growth. Capturing this fluidity while providing a structured and insightful essay demands a keen analytical mind and a deft touch with language. In conclusion, writing an essay on the definition of life is a demanding endeavor that necessitates a deep exploration of various disciplines, an appreciation for diverse perspectives, and a skillful synthesis of complex ideas. Despite its challenges, the process can be intellectually stimulating and rewarding for those who undertake it with diligence and an open mind. For assistance with similar essays or any academic writing needs, a variety of resources are available, including online platforms like HelpWriting.net. These services can provide support and guidance for individuals navigating the intricacies of essay writing on diverse topics. Life Definition Essay Life Definition Essay

  • 3. Effect of Aging Population on the Financial Markets Abstract The demographic questions have occupied for a few years an important place in the great debates of economic policy, in France as well as in the principal industrialized countries. In other words, all the large industrialized countries will know a considerable ageing of the population during the next decades. In the academic circles and the business press, they believe that the ageing of the population will have important effects on the financial markets following the impact awaited on the rates of saving and the request of the fund s investments. To develop the subject, we will initially present the various studies made by certain authors to justify the common claims according to which the demographic factors probably ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This interests the flows of international capital. Several researchers discussed the fact that the free mobility of the capital, joined to noncontemporary demographic diagrams through the countries, will help to reduce a fall on the price level of assets. In the developed economies, the low internal request for assets coming from the demographic trends taking place can be replaced by the external request taking place in these countries where the work age of the population is always increasing and where the savings are higher. This argument can certainly be correct when we treat with an asset which is easily marketable. Now, in developing international dimension a little: The economic analyses suggest that the countries in which the work age of the population increases and where the saving are relatively more abundant than the investment opportunities must export capital. Similarly, the countries in which the work age of the population decrease and the number of pensioners increases must liquidate the assets and import capital. Consequently, at the mean time, we wait until flows of capital are degraded, rising from the developed economies

  • 5. The Terrace At Vernon The three different types of color presented in various works in chapter 6 were local, perceptual, and arbitrary. Local color is the easiest to understand as it is the typical color of items that we see when pictured in our head. According to Sayre, it is the color we know an object to be, the way we know a banana is yellow. (Sayre, 126) A good artist s example is Jane Hammond s Fallen, which exhibits a stereotypical fall scene with a twist. Perceptual coloris the way it is see from the eye, which depends on lighting factors. Monet is a good example of an impressionist painter who tried to paint exactly what his eyes were seeing rather than what the color was supposed to be. The last concept is arbitrary color, which is a more expressive take on color, and usually replaces local colors with other ones that are out of the ordinary but yet fit within the painting, Pierre Bonnard s The Terrace at Vernon is a good example of this expressive... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Color in this piece is used in a warming way. It is considered local because when we think of fall we think of leaves on the ground and in all of these color variations. What this work is really showing is somewhat of a healing aspiration since each leaf is sewn on with a fallen soldiers name from Iraq. As noted in the book, there is no actual brown leaves, but the vast warm color spectrum makes it appear that there are in fact brow leaves. Without color this would not be as effective. The color for me makes it seem as if each solider matters. Asides from the color individuality this work presents, it does all bring everyone together in one place, as the leaves are grouped together so these soldiers can be together as collective fallen group. Color is also helping inforce the representational theme of this work since without the typical fall colors this wouldn t be a local color piece, nor completely
  • 6. Responsibility Of The Actions Of His Employees As Their... A great manager is willing to take the responsibility of the actions of his employees as their leader. Great manager learns from the company s previous mistakes and are devoted to better the company. Managers should be knowledgeable about the company, to prepare them to answer any questions the employees or customers ask. They motivate their employees to be successful and accomplish the company s day to day task. A great manager listens to employees and customers. They improve from what they are told and catch on to their own mistakes. Great managers should know how to handle criticism from an employee or customer. For instance, say John the manager of Starbucks gets told he is a lousy manager, who doesn t know what he is doing. John has the choice of either feeling bad for himself, getting angry, or learn from his mistakes. The better choice would be to learn from his mistakes. This will allow John to understand to better in a function he lacks in which is organizing. In the Management textbook there are four main functions a Great manager should be skilled in planning, organizing, leading, and control. Good managers don t neglect any four management functions (Pg 8). Great managers see their employees as a team and also a family. A good manager gets to know their employees. What are Nano Structured Magnetic Materials Nano structured magnetic materials, CoFe2O4 and CoCr0.9Fe1.1O4 were prepared using the Citrate gel chemical synthesis with a crystallite size of 6.5nm and 10.7nm respectively. Structural characterization was done by X ray diffraction analysis and magnetic properties were studied using Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM). Magnetization measurements as a function of field В±10T at temperatures 5K, 25K, 310K and FC/ZFC magnetization measurements under a field of 100 Oe for a temperature ranging from 5K 400K were studied. The blocking temperature (Tb) for both the ferrites was resulted at around 355K. Below blocking temperature they showed ferromagnetic behavior and above, superparamagnetic behavior that favors their application in the biomedical field. The substitution of Cr3+ ions for Fe3+ ions has resulted in a decrease in magnetization and the coercivityof the samples. CoCr0.9Fe1.1O4 nano ferrites with low coercivity of 338 Oe make them desirable in high frequency transformers due to their very soft magnetic behavior. Keywords: A. Nano structures, A. Magnetic materials, B. Chemical synthesis, C. X ray diffraction, D. Magnetic properties. 1. Introduction Nano structured magnetic materials have been the interest of the researchers in recent years due to their remarkable properties compared to their bulk counterpart. Among these, magnetic spinel nano Ferrites (MFe2O4) are of great importance as they exhibit novel properties that largely differ from the bulk counterparts due

Ideas and reforms for an improved access to high quality primary health care in Ontario: AOHC s perspective Purpose The purpose of this briefing note is to provide top three recommendations for the policy actions that AOHC should advocate in order to improve timely access to primary health care in Ontario. Background Primary care is considered to be the first point of contact with the health system for the people of Ontario and is recognized, as the building block of the entire health system. Every individual in the province needs a timely access to this service in order to maintain a healthy living. Ontario s medical system focuses on delivering high quality primary care, but certain gaps within the system have resulted in an inequitable access to healthcare services. Are Ontario s primary care reforms meeting the needs of its residents? Despite large investments in primary care reforms (PCR) over the years, there still hasn t been a significant impact in certain areas of the health system, particularly those related to the access to care . The Health Quality Ontario (HQO) data from 2014 shows that almost 94% of the adults have a primary care provider, which has risen from 92% in 2006 1, 2. Religion and Authority Religion prominently wields its power over characters and sociological conditions in the three novels, and is therefore used to unite, divide and control. The appeal of religion seems to be at its greatest when man is at his most savage, and that is perhaps why religion can wield much authority. In dire circumstances, religion is a tool for the state in The Wanting Seed to supervise the population both psychologically and numerically. Despite the repugnance of cannibalism, Burgess leads us to grudgingly admit that the consumption of soft, properly cooked man is an absurdly practical self regulating mechanism for curbing overpopulation. Similarly in Survivor s Creedish church, Tender s entire existence is a result of the mass control and production of people through church doctrine. Adam, his older brother, explains, to Creedish parents, their children were chattel...you were bred and trained and sold ; non firstborns were brainwashed to be obedient cleaners in the wicked outside world who then remitted their salaries to the church. Everything one does is to please others, which can be the entire society. Society is based on conventions. Most of society conforms as a whole, otherwise one may appear to be outside of the society that they live in, becoming unconventional or dangerous to the norm of their society. These conventions have a major role within society because they are general agreements on a social behavior. The force making toward conformity in society is essentially the stability of the society itself, which is created by people conforming to please others. However, people who do not ... Lewis s The Screwtape Letters, an iconic piece of literary and theological artwork, employs an interesting conglomeration of tone, structure, and meaning that continues to transform the thoughts of many who read it. In true Lewis fashion, the grammatical structure in The Screwtape Letters was carefully orchestrated with unique use of clauses, mechanics, and more to illustrate his equally unique thoughts. Hooper s C.S. Lewis: A Complete Guide to His Life and Works describes the revealing of the conception of the book in a letter from Lewis to his brother, Warnie Lewis. C.S. had been listening to Adolf Hitler speaking persuasively over the radio the night before the letter was written; in it, he explains his awe at human word crafting. Statements which I know to be untrue all but convince me, at any rate for the moment, if only the man says them unflinchingly, said Lewis, still thinking of Hitler s persuasiveness, when he conjured up the idea for a book while sitting in a service at Holy Trinity Church in Oxford, England (Hooper 267). This reminds one of the musings of French literary theorist, philosopher, and linguist Roland Barthes in La Mort de l auteur (The Death of the Author, 1968). • 24. Darkness And Darkness In John Milton s Relation To Darkness Perhaps, within one line, Milton describes the nature of all emitted light; that it must, if we are to call it light, be considered in relation to darkness and that darkness must be considered in relation to light; that a thing cannot be without its opposite, since any one member of an antithesis cannot exist without a counter member, or an anti member; as a white horse cannot be compared to a black one without the black one being present; A cannot be compared to B unless B is present; by extension, an antithesis works by expressing two extremities of any one quality, the antithesis of white is black, since, if we were to evaluate colour, white suggests the prescience of white and the absence of black, and vice versa. But, to what degree is blackness said to exist in whiteness? Are they two separate qualities? Is one merely the absence of the other? Is so, the true nature of the antithesis is of one existent thing to a non existent thing. Suppose we are to compare lightness to darkness: if lightis said to exist, as an emission which illuminates darkness, then light can only be considered as something which illuminates darkness, and thus can only be considered in relation to darkness; likewise, if we are to call darkness that thing which covers light, it must be considered in relation to its opposite, which supposes that both exist; but, if we suppose that both exist, than darkness cannot be the absence of light but must rather be covering of it. We run into problems,

It seems that sometimes we study his errors more than his achievements. Many critiques of Berkeley are results of misunderstanding Berkeley s philosophy. One very famous critique is from Samuel Johnson who lived around the same time as Berkeley. Johnson kicked a stone and said, I refute it thus . Why did Johnson believe he could refute Berkeley by kicking a stone? Did he misunderstand Berkeley, and if not what did he mean by this? To discover what Johnson meant we must first learn about what he was refuting. Berkeley has three main beliefs: 1. Idealism: the only things that exist are minds and their ideas; 2. Phenomenalism: Physicals objects are big collections of possible senses; and 3. Immaterialism: there is no such thing as a physical substance (something that exists independently). With Berkeley s beliefs he has two motivations: 1. to oppose skepticism and 2. to promote religion, Berkeley was a bishop of the Anglican church so you can see why promoting religion was so important to him. Berkeley was an empiricist. Empiricism is the theory that all knowledge is derived from sense experiences. Some other famous empiricists are Thomas Locke and David Hume. However as of more recent, the focus has been to cut spending and this in turn has affected most notably, Veterans Affairs (VA) and their healthprograms. According to the VA, VA is charged with fulfilling President Lincoln s promise to care for those who shall have borne the battle, and for their families and their survivors. To support this mission, the 2016 Budget provides $70.2 billion in discretionary funding for VA, a 7.9 percent increase above the 2015 enacted level. In addition, the budget includes $3.2 billion in estimated medical care collections, for a total discretionary budget authority of $73.5 billion (which includes $3.2 billion in Medical Care Collections) and $95.3 billion for VA s mandatory benefit programs. This increase in budgetary spending can be deceiving as the VA is also seeing an increase in the amount of veterans claiming benefits. So although there is a budgetary increase, it is not enough (a deficit) to fulfill all claims made by veterans and/or their families and therefore is causing the VA to make cutbacks in both military construction efforts, but more importantly in medical benefits that veterans receive. For instance, improving veterans access to medical care to include strengthening their benefits program is a matter of priority. As has been recently of subject in the news, wait times for veterans has been extreme and inefficient, at times to the detriment of the health of veterans. Ultrasound allows the doctor to see inside the uterus and provides much information about the pregnancy (Radiologic Society of North America, 2013). In some cases, it can also produce small pockets of gas in body fluids or tissues known as cavitation, (U.S. Food and Drug Administration, 2014). This quote is about Christopher Columbus and his discovery of the Americas. On the first Monday in October, we celebrate Columbus Day, based on the belief that he discovered the Americas. One might conclude that Christopher Columbus did not discover the Americas because the Native Americans, Vikings, and Phoenicians had already set foot there. First of all, when Christopher Columbusset foot in the Americas, he encountered a large group of Native Americans that had already inhabited it. This group of Native Americans was called the Taino. The Taino were the most native people who inhabited the Caribbean. They occupied what are now the Caribbean Islands of the Virgin Islands, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Cuba, Puerto Rico, and Haiti. When Christopher Columbus confronted the Taino, he characterized them as naked as the day they were born. By 1550, close to all the Taino population was wiped out due to disease spread to the Americas by Spaniards. Furthermore, the Taino lived a prosperous life before English settlers arrived there. According to myLOC.gov, the Taino had complex hierarchical religious, political, and social systems. As excellent farmers and navigators, the Taino created poetry, music, and powerful, symbolic objects. As I stated above, the Taino eventually was almost destroyed by foreign diseases. In the novel Hurston shows how a racial caste system is formed. As the story progresses, the reader is able to see how the caste system affects different characters in different ways. So when this project rolled around I had no problem choosing the novel All Quiet on the Western Front, which was written by Erich Maria Remarque. Erich had been a German soldier towards the end of WWI and had, first hand experienced the pure terror that is war. I had heard of this book through my father who is also a major war enthusiast. Him and I have had numerous conversations about both World War Iand II, as he was the one that originally suggested I read this book. I have to say that it was a tremendous suggestion in that this novelto me seems to be one of the finest pieces of anti war literature ever penned. The way the novel is able to portray the mindset of a soldier was beautifully done and shows the complete deterioration that occurs over time. First to understand more about the novel and its author, Erich Maria Remarque, it would be helpful to learn about his life. Rational behavior on the part of the firm to achieve its goal of profit maximization. 3. The firm is managed by owner entrepreneur. Determination of profit maximizing price and output Profit maximization of a firm can be explained in two different ways. В· Total Revenue and Total Cost approach. В· Marginal Revenue and Marginal Cost approach. Profits of a firm are estimated by making comparison between total revenue and total costs. Profit is the difference between TR and TC. In other words, excess of revenue over costs is the profits. Profit = TR TC. If TR is equal to TC in that case, there will be break even point. If TR is less than TC, in that case, a firm will be incurring losses. In this case, we take in to account of total cost and total revenue of the firm while measuring profits. It is clear from the following diagram how profit arises when TR is greater than that of TC. 2. MR and MC approach In this case, we take in to account of revenue earned from one unit and cost incurred to produce only one unit of output. A firm will be maximizing its profits when MR= MC and MC curve cuts MR curve from below. If MC curve cuts MR curve from above either under perfect market or under imperfect market, no doubt MR equals MC but total output will not be maximized and hence total profits also will not be maximized. Hence, two conditions are
