Essay On Adult Literacy
Writing an essay on the subject of adult literacy can present a myriad of challenges. Firstly, the
topic itself is broad and multifaceted, requiring extensive research and a deep understanding of
various aspects such as educational policies, socio-economic factors, and teaching
methodologies. Gathering relevant and reliable sources to support arguments can be time-
consuming, especially considering the need for up-to-date statistics and scholarly articles.
Additionally, addressing the complexities of adult literacy demands a nuanced approach that
considers diverse perspectives and experiences. It's essential to acknowledge the barriers faced
by adult learners, including cultural stigmas, lack of access to resources, and personal challenges.
Crafting a sensitive and informed discussion while avoiding stereotypes or oversimplifications
requires careful attention to language and tone.
Moreover, structuring the essay effectively to convey key points coherently can be a daunting
task. Balancing between providing theoretical frameworks, empirical evidence, and practical
solutions without overwhelming the reader requires skillful organization and clarity of
expression. Each section must flow logically into the next, guiding the reader through complex
ideas without losing their interest or understanding.
Furthermore, grappling with the ethical implications of the topic adds another layer of
complexity. Addressing issues of social justice, equity, and empowerment requires thoughtful
reflection and a commitment to advocating for meaningful change. It's essential to approach the
subject with empathy and humility, recognizing the dignity and agency of adult learners while
highlighting the systemic injustices that perpetuate illiteracy.
In conclusion, writing an essay on adult literacy entails navigating a challenging terrain of
research, sensitivity, and critical analysis. However, despite the difficulties, it offers an
opportunity to shed light on a pressing social issue and advocate for positive transformation in
education. By engaging with this topic thoughtfully and compassionately, we can contribute to
building a more inclusive and equitable society.

Exploring Beginning Teachers Perceptions On Formal...
Exploring Beginning Teachers Perceptions on Formal Mentoring Programs in
Elementary Schools Introduction Central Phenomenon The risk of losing beginning
teachers has been an issue in the United States for a long time. An immense amount
of research has been conducted exploring why beginning teachers are leaving the
profession. Fantilli and McDougall s (2009) pointed out that beginning teachers have
the same responsibilities and requirements as veteran teachers, but in addition to
these factors, feel the additional pressure that most people feel starting a new
vocation. As a result, beginning teachers spend a disproportionate amount of time and
effort simply to keep their heads above water (p. 814). In the article Hello, Goodbye:
Exploring the Phenomenon of Leaving Teaching Early, a qualitative study was
conducted to explore why beginning teachers are leaving the profession. Through an
interview process, former beginning teachers identified negative factors that
influenced their decision to leave the profession. These factors included working with
unmotivated colleagues, feeling isolated, feeling that they did not receive support or
recognition from administration, dealing with administrative problems, and not
having flexibility and freedom to decide how they teach in their classrooms. The
purpose of exploring this phenomenon of teachers leaving their profession early in
their career is to determine why it is happening and how it can be prevented in the
future.
Essay about Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation
Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation was founded in 1863 when Mr. Henry Williams
purchased Old Fort Park and donated it to the city of Fort Wayne. Since then, Fort
Wayne Parks and Recreation has continued to grow acquiring 85 more parks which
include Reservoir Park in 1880, Foster Park golf course in 1928, Fort Wayne s
Children s Zoo in 1962, the Botanical Conservatory in 1979 and more recently
Robert E. Meyer s Park in 2008. This organization does much more for the
community than just taking care of the city s parks. Fort Wayne Parks and
Recreation also hosts many activities in town including multiple different camps for
children and young adults. (City of Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation, 2013) The

organization budgeted for and planned a way to help save this tree species. For the
past couple years, biannual Ash tree treatments have been in place to help save the
Ash trees of Fort Wayne. This past summer 647 Ash trees in Fort Wayne were
treated to prevent the Ash Borer from killing them. Because this treatment is a
biannual treatment, only half of the population of Ash trees was treated the summer
of 2013. The other half of the population was treated the previous summer and will
be treated again in the summer of 2014. (City of Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation,

treating the Ash trees. Davey Resource Group provides a full range of natural
resource and utility consulting services to the commercial, residential, municipal and
governmental markets. (Davey)
The question arose about the cost benefits of treating the tree versus cutting them
down. It cost approximately $43.00 to treat one tree versus the $400.00 to cut the
tree down, grind the stump away, and plant a new tree in its place. Even though
many Ash trees have been saved by this treatment, it was too late for some. So far
10,500 Ash trees have been cut down in the city of Fort Wayne because they were
attacked by the Ash Borer. This year another 2,447 will be cut down also. Mudrack

Sweatshops In Developing Countries
Todays, when the citizenship is concentrated, sweatshop is becoming a striking
issue of controversies. Especially in developed countries, this problem is always
boycotted, but on the other hand it is an opportunity for people in underdeveloped
countries to change their lives. Although sweatshop is considered as a complex issue
with underpayment and underworking environment, they are beneficial to change
the old ideologies, economic growth, and fair working conditions. Firstly, women
choose to work in sweatshops in developing countries because this is their only
source step out of unavailable and unthinkable situation. Women in these countries
tolerated outdated beliefs, such as being restricted to domestic chores and relying
on their husbands. Their lives are always in a vicious circle that they want to escape
but do not know the right way, so working in sweatshops provide women not only
chance to create stable income, but also sense of their own independence. As the
writer mentions that with the small income from garment sweatshop, women in
Bangladesh can manage their finances, have their own choice in marriage and
having children (Sachs, quoted in Garyfalakis, para5). Moreover, they have chance
to go to school and gain their special skills. For example, earning $1 to $2 in
Indonesia or Bangladesh sounds unbelievable, but it can help a woman feed her kids
and restrict diarrhea disease (Kristof and Wudunn, 2000). Women in these countries
also admitted that even
Examples Of American Imperialism
From 1880 to 1914, Industrial European countries favored the idea of Imperialism in
African colonies which motivated them to acquire resources, riches, and territory
which eventually led them to seemingly have an attitude in which their race was
superior. Even before Imperialism became popular, England had colonies such as the
American Colonies which spread their ethnicity and race as well as their power.
Europeans countries began to comprehend and understand that they could use the
resources for their operations and expansion toward their country. The De Beers
Mining Company was a prime example of how Imperialism allowed European
countries to obtain resources and territory which made them stronger and richer.

Without a doubt, England s colonies allowed their ships to circumnavigate the
globe at any time. England, which had many colonies all over the world had
helped them earn the title as one of the most powerful and richest countries on
Earth during the mid 1700 s. England also influenced their race and religion to the
American colonies through fighting off the French and Indians during the French
and Indian War. England was also able to control most of the world s international
shipping due to it s large navy and it s ports all around the world which was an early
example of Imperialism. Colonization had certainly been proven to strengthen

Women And Women s Suffrage
The idea of women gaining the right to vote was one such of a tale. Men, and women
never thought they would see the day where women were considered equal
suffragists. Until August 18, 1920 when the nineteenth amendment was ratified into
the United States Constitution, granting women the right to vote. Elizabeth Cady
Stanton, and Susan B. Anthonydied before they could see the day where women
would become equal. Carrie Chapman Catt worked hand in hand with Susan B.
Anthony, and served as the president of the National American Woman Suffrage
Association(NAWSA). Alice Paul served as a role model for women. She worked
for women s suffrage while in jail, and proved to her opponents, that the day where
women could vote would come. Though these women did not always work together,
working towards the same cause allowed them to accomplish their true dream:
women s suffrage.
July 19th, 1848 the Seneca Falls Convention was held in Seneca Falls, New York.
This was the first women s rights gathering that addressed the issues and conditions
for women. Elizabeth Cady Stanton worked on the convention, and it began a bigger
suffrage movement, than ever before. Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and Susan B. Anthony
not only were two leading suffragists, but together they edited and published, the
Revolution a radical women s newspaper (Harper). Working together didn t only
improve their belief of equal suffrage, but it helped for them to grow the knowledge
of the issue. Together, they formed
My High School
High School: The Early Years High school was hard for me, just like it can be for any
awkward teenager. Most people would say it can be hard because they had to move
to a new school, or did not have many friends. It was hard early on for me because I
did not know exactly where I fit in. I felt out of place just by being in the school
building. I eventually found my place in high schooloutside of sports, on the
academic team, and in FFA. The beginning of my freshman year I decided that I
was not going to play sports anymore. I had dislocated my left knee cap more times
than I could count, and I just came back from surgery after tearing my ACL. The
decision was hard because I had been playing sports since I was three years old. I
thought that I could not live without sports in my life. All my friends were made
while playing sports, which they still were my friends but we did not have the
connection we once had. I felt left out of the conversations all fall fast pitch season
because I was not there to witness the events as they were happening. I knew that I
did not want to feel left out during basketball season, or the rest of my high school
career. That winter I found my place, and that place was in the student section at
basketball games. I learned all the cheers and chants, and soon found myself leading
a few of them every now and again. My sophomoreyear I began leading all of the
chants and cheers all the time. I could scream and yell at the top of my lungs, and I
was encouraged to do it as much as I could. I spent the next two years leading
everything. I was asked by the team multiple times to come and cheer, because it
kept the players playing hard knowing they had support. I was not a part of their
team, but I was needed by them as if I was. The academic team has been a safe
place for me to be for many years. Going into my freshman year, I thought it would
be easy just like all the other years. I learned that I was wrong about that
assumption. My team was a young team that consisted of four freshmen, and two
sophomores. Not only were we at a disadvantage with the amount of people we had,
but the questions were suited for juniors and seniors. Some of the questions that were
asked I could not even
Paper On Aladdin
Aladdin is a Walt Disney movie that released in 1992. The animated movie is based
on an Arab style folktale of Aladdin and the Magic Lamp from One Thousand and

Agrabah with his monkey friend Abu. When a princess named Jasmine gets tired of
being told what to do she sneaks out to the marketplace, where she accidentally meets
Aladdin. Under the orders of Jafar (the sultan s advisor), Aladdin is thrown in jail
and gets tricked into Jafar s plot to rule the land with a mysterious lamp. There is

The Use Of Mandatory Continuing Professional
Development...
The iconic journalist and one of the most trusted figures in American television,
Walter Cronkite once said that in seeking the truth, one must get to both sides of the
story [1]. It may be philosophically worded perhaps, but it is unequivocally true. As
such, the likely introduction of mandatory continuing professional development by
the PEO is a thorny topic that must be critically analyzed and scrutinized on both
ends of the spectrum. Those in support for continuing professional development argue
that practitioners get applicable training on the job and that certain concepts such as
ethics simply do not change and thus don t require a statue for mandatory continuing
development. However, others have an antipodal perspective, arguing that continuing
professional development should be mandatory to prevent loss of knowledge over
time and to allow members to keep at pace with the latest practices and procedures of
the engineeringprofession.
Perhaps the most convincing argument that those against continuing professional
development provide is that engineers get all the adequate skills training on the job.
This is most prevalent for new engineering graduates, that can spend up to two years
getting trained prior to starting the job. Take for example, Lehigh Hanson Canada
subsidiary of the building materials conglomerate, HeidelbergCement Group. New
graduates spend 24 months in a comprehensive program that provides on the job as
well as formal training [2]. To put in

Military Child: Brat
Pure hell took its course on me as a young innocent girl. Being a military brat
definitely impacted my life in many challenging ways. The term military brat is
usually misunderstood by non military population. A military brat is a child from a
parent who is in the military. My mother was a commanding officer which made me
and my siblings labeled military brat The word brat (by itself) may seem negative.
However, we were taught that its not an insult but actually a term of endearment and
respect. Of course the military has a lot of traveling, family orientated, many free
services, and good food. Being a military brat was not all ... Show more content on

If we moved she would distribute more lashings. My mother was mean and called
her discipline tough love . Yeah right, my ass it wasn t tough love. She could
dissemble my door frame in five minutes taking away my privacy when I would slam
my door from anger.
She would turn off the electricity to my room so that there was no TV, curling
irons, games, or any luxury. The more my mother was a bitch the more I rebelled
with braking my curfew, sneaking out, hiding her badge, taking her files and hiding
them. The consequences of misbehavior for a military brat are generally greater than
for a civilian children.
Being labeled a brat was not a choice by any means. However, due to the challenges
I endured it has shaped and molded me into the woman I am today. A woman with
values, strength, great friendships, and unconditional love for all. No longer that
innocent girl thanks to the military who robbed me of that innocence. And It makes
want to spit when someone refers to me as a military brat. It s not a word that means
endearment or respect as we were taught.

Mature Adult Adulthood
Life span is the period between birth and death; the maximum years alive attained
by a member of a species (Turley and Thompson, 2016). The life stage I chose is
young old adults. Young old adults is also known as mature Adulthood (Ages 50
70). Mature adulthood is a time when those in adulthood have raised families,
established themselves in their work life, and become contributors to the betterment
of society through volunteerism, mentorships, and other forms of philanthropy. All
of humanity benefits from their benevolence. Moreover, we all can learn from
their example to give more of ourselves to others. I like the idea of a senior cafГ© or

Both are important for health, digestion, and preventing diseases. Insoluble fiber
promotes the movement of material through your digestive system and increases
stool bulk, so it can be of benefit to those who struggle with constipation or irregular
stools. Soluble fiber attracts water and turns to gel during digestion; therefore, it
slows digestion. Fiber is found in fruits, vegetables, beans and peas, grains, nuts,
and seeds. High fiber foods are usually low in calories and fat, but packed with
vitamins and minerals. It is recommended for men 50+ years old to get 30 grams
of fiber per day and for women 50+ to get 21 grams of fiber per day (Turley

What Makes Michael Jackson A Succesful Person
Most Succesful Person In my opinion, Michael Jackson is the most successful

music career as well as having family support. There are many successful people in

Now all car companies work very hard to find out what people really want from
cars, and they try to build cars to fit the preferences. Market research uses all the
same empirical tools as experimental psychology, but with larger research budgets,
better defined questions, more representative samples of people, and more impact.
Ideally, marketing s empiricism works like Rogerian psychotherapy: it holds up a
mirror to ourselves, reflecting our beliefs and desires so we can recognize, remember,
evaluate, and transform them.
Ford Motor Company is undergoing a transformation that is putting their customers at
the center of everything they do. Their vision is to be the world s leading consumer
company for automotive products and services. That requires a much different
headset than that of a traditional automobile manufacturer one that concentrates
intensely on the people who buy and use their products. Obviously, they had had a

For nearly a century, Ford Motor Company has worked to improve people s lives and

expanded and accelerated their corporate citizenship efforts, and worked to integrate
them into their overall business strategy.
But today s customer and today s competition requires a deeper level of
understanding. Traditional market research is fine,
The Pros And Cons Of The Fourth Amendment
The Fourth Amendment of the United States Constitution protects every individual s
personal privacy, and every person s right to be free from unwarranted government
intrusion in their homes, businesses and property, regardless of whether it is through
police stops and checks or the search of their homes. In the context of Mr. Smith s
Arrest, he was arrested without a warrant of arrest and there was a search, which was
conducted by a private citizen on his premises without a search warrant, the courts
upheld his arrest and subsequent conviction thus implying that all due processwas
followed before reaching at the verdict. The constitutionality of search and arrest
without a warrant was challenged in the case of PayTon v. Newyork, (1980) (Payton
v. New York | Casebriefs, 2017). The Supreme Court consolidated two cases where the
police gained entry into the defendants home without a search warrant and seized
evidence found in the house. The rule of law as read out under the Fourth and
Fourteenth Amendment posits that the United States Constitutionhas prohibited
warrantless entry and search of a premise, absent the exigent circumstances,
regardless the existence of a probable cause. The courts in Payton held that the
Fourth Amendment made it a violation to enter a premise during an arrest absent an
arrest warrant and exigent circumstances; a person s house is a critical point to which
the constitutional safeguards should be respected. In Riley v. California (2014) The

The Effect Of The Warring States Period On Modern Japan
The warring states period in Japan was one of constant military dispute. It started in
1467 and went for 136 years and only ended when all the clans unified under the
Tokugawa Shogunate in 1603. This period definitely had a large effect in the making
of modern Japan because it was a time of growing culture and strong economics. The
economy grew despite the wars raging and trade was big this indicates the
sophisticated craft and manufacturing industries in Japan. These are the main reasons
for the start of the warring states period and how this era affected modern Japan. The
background to the warring states period is extensive and quite complex. The
government at the time was known as the Bakufu Shogunate or the Shogunal

Dante tells the readers that It s foliage was no verdant, but nearly black. The

that each piece of the quote represents something else. The dark woods in itself can
be seen as an allegory for Hell, twisted and warped, void of color, and fruitless. The
unhealthy branches of the trees represent sin from each person, as nothing seems

drama a comical side, and give symbols and allusions to Hermia and Lysanders
relationship. The play of Pyramus and Thisbeis about two lovers whose families do
not approve their love. Be it so she; will not here before your grace consent to marry
with Demetrius, I beg the ancient privilege of Athens, As she is mine, I may
dispose of her. Egeus, Hermia s father, wants Hermia to marry Demetrius instead of
Hermia s lover, Lysander. Automatically we see a resemblance. Wilt thou at Ninny s
tomb meet me straightway? Pyramus and Thisbe decide to run off to Ninnus tomb
to be together in secret, just like Hermia and Lysander run off to the wood beyond

everything open to interpretation? While I would like to believe that most people
agree on a reality based world, recent emergence of fake news and alternative facts
has shaken this belief.
In his book 1984, George Orwell described a dystopian future under complete
totalitarianism, where the super state s Ministry of Truth actually falsifies
information and rewrites history. He also introduced the concept of doublethink; the
ability to hold two contradictory beliefs and believe both. According to The
Guardian, sales of 1984 recently skyrocketed after Kellyanne Conway, Donald Trump
s advisor and former campaign manager advanced an eerily similar concept during
her NBC interview.
When asked why the White House press secretary, Sean Spicer s press conference
was riddled with inaccuracies, she stated that he was simply referring to a set of
alternative facts. The interviewer quickly pointed out that alternative facts are not
facts; they are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, Donald Trump proudly stated that any negative polls are fake news,
and constantly refers to mainstream media outlets as fake news media. To
compound the effect, according to MSNBC, a leading Republican Congressman,
Lamar Smith, advised Americans to get their news directly from the President
because it might be the only way to get the unvarnished truth. The reason why
undermining credibility of news media is so scary is that it reduces their ability to
hold politicians accountable. With public s trust in cable news plummeting (all time
low of 32% according to Gallup), more and more individuals are looking for
alternative sources online, which makes them more susceptible to fake news, and so

Examples Of Foreshadowing In Night By Elie Wiesel
In Night by Elie Wiesel there were many quotes that stuck out to me, or had
meaning that aligned with my personal experiences. The first quote I chose came
from when Elie and his family and friends were in the cattle care and Mrs.
Schachter started yelling about a fire, no one could see the fire and just assumed
that she was going mad. Standing in the middle of the wagon, in the pale light
from the windows, she looked like a withered tree in a cornfield. She pointed her
arm towards the window, screaming: Look! Look at it! Fire! A terrible fire! Mercy!
Oh, that fire! some of the men pressed up against the bars. There was nothing there;
only darkness. (Wiesel 33 34) This is obvious foreshadowing as Mrs. Schachtner was
yelling about seeing a fire, referencing the crematorium. Those in the cattle car with
her brush off her warnings as she continously warns them about fire. They refuse to
awknowledge the danger ahead, and choose to beat her. When the train arrives at
Auschwitz, they smell burnt flesh, and they can see the smoke. They know now that
it is too late and that Mrs. Shachtner was right about the fire.... Show more content on

Park Observation
My observation had been conducted near my home, a local park to be exact. This
park had been a day to place for adventure and fun during my youth. This gave me
an important perspective in observing the park consisting of individuals who I
could easily connect to.This allowed for me to be easily influenced by the factors
surrounding the park that connect to my early life. I see things and compare them
to my own youth and it affects my judgement on different topics. My standpoint is
critical in determining and analyzing the different factors that I saw at the park.
When certain activities or tasks were conducted by the kids at the park, I judged
them based on what I had experienced before or if I had even done such a thing.

As stated above, my early childhood experiences are crucial when making
inferences and understanding the reasoning behind them. I created two groups
depending on their role within the game I observed; The Runners and Hunters.
Regardless of the game I was observing, I refereed to the Runners as little miniscule
critters and the bigger kids to be the Hunters or the bad guys, which show the pre
incorporated experience from my past. My biggest weakness was the influence of
prior experience on my present judgement. I had tried to connect to the people I had
chosen to observe, and that changed the end result of my investigation causing it to
be impacted on a personal level.
The topic I had chosen to observe was limited by the time frame and the individuals
I had looked at. The time had been a big factor, as 60 minutes is nowhere near
enough time to fully understand the environment and critically analyze it. Besides
time, as I read over my observation I realized that I was not taking into consideration
that there were parents at the park, I only choose to look at the children. Having
incorporated the parents as a part of the observation would have provided a more
explorable environment to conduct this observation.
In conclusion, if developed under an anthropologist, the observation would have the
common theme of factual data evidence incorporated into the critical writing analysis
rather than the creative storytelling which was the case for my
Taking a Look at Crohn s Disease
Crohn s Diseases is a idiopathic inflammatory bowel disease, of the gastro
intestinal tract from the mouth to the anus. Crohns has an effect on people in
many different forms and fashion from physiological to psychological. Depression
is a major factor that comes into play with this (IBD). Patients live on the edge
from day to day when dealing with spontaneous episodes of diarrhea and chronic
abdominal pains. Clients may show a lack of interest in the social aspect of life
due to illness, and may demonstrate these traits to avoid embarrassment. Jobs and
work life have to be comprised, for example patients need to have bathroom
timeouts as well as always have emergency bag ready. Nutritional aspects have to
comprise due to the illness. There will need to be a high intake of fruits and
vegetables for adequate nutritional intake. Certain fruits and vegetables like
strawberries due to the small seeds and apples because of the skin can be difficult
to digest. Weight loss will occur due to lack of nutrients being absorbed because of
inflamed intestinal wall. Medication compliance at first can be a hassle facing the
fact that most clients have to take between 8 15 pills a day. Patients may also
experience physical side effects, moon face for example from large doses of
prednisone. This illness will cause for a strong support group and possibly the need
for finical assistance; due to medical bills. Crohn s disease is a chronic inflammatory

The Picture Of Dorian Gray And Doctor Faustus Analysis
Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full
grown, gives birth to death (James 1:15). In The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar
Wilde and Doctor Faustus by Christopher Marlowe; the character progression in the
protagonists of both novels is the epitome of one s demise from greed. Both Dr.
Faustus and Dorian Gray had desires out of their mortal reach, fueling their deals with
Evil for the lust that dwelt within them. However our titular characters had different
motivations that fueled their sin, with this motivation ultimately turning to regret in
the end. Despite the opportunity to repent, both protagonists chose their desires
instead, leading them down a path towards damnation. Both Dorian Gray and Dr.
Faustus had self serving aspirations that goaded both characters to covenant with
demonic powers; however what these aspirations the immoral protagonists had
differed. Dorian Gray was an innocent youth that went down a course of
exceptional hedonism under the influence of Lord Henry and his own volition.
Dorian s journey starts when witnessing Basil s portrait of him stating, If it was I
who were to be forever young, and the picture that were to grow old! unknowingly
selling his soul through the words, I would give everything! Yes, there is nothing
in the whole world I would not give! (Wilde 42). It was this desire to stay eternally
youthful that allows Dorian to freely experience society s vices. The furthest
extent of Dorian s sin was his murder of former friend Basil, who wishes to have
Dorian s influence, be for good, not for evil but in the end this opportunity for
redemption was literally stabbed in the back (Wilde 197). This climax of Dorian s
wickedness leads him to question his actions and the dualist nature between his
angelic appearance and devilish essence; the guilt of his sins weighing heavily on
Dorian s mind. Dorian reminisces of the past stating:
Was it really true that one could never change? He felt a wild longing for the
unstained purity of his boyhood, his rose white boyhood, as Lord Henry had once
called it. He knew that he had tarnished himself, filled his mind with corruption, and
given horror to his fancy; that he had been an evil influence

Analysts said Sony s third outlook cut in six months could drive away even the
loyalists still believing in the company s promise to turn around its flagging consumer
electronics business. The grim forecast also stands out from Japanese rivals in the
electronics industry such as Panasonic Corp and fujitsu Ltd, which are returning to
profit after withdrawing from unprofitable business areas. It is another major
letdown, said Tomoichiro Kubota, a senior market analyst at online brokerage Matsui
Securities Co. The contrast is stark with Sony anticipating a bigger loss while other
companies are starting to enjoy the fruits of their restructuring measures, he said.
Sony attributed the guidance cut to about ВҐ30 billion ($293 million) in extra costs
to dispose of its PC business, and to impairment charges from weaker overseas
demand for Blu ray discs and DVDs. In February, the company said it expected a
ВҐ110 billion ($1.1 billion) loss to fix its unprofitable PC and television businesses.
Now, it expects a ВҐ130 billion loss for the year ended in March, even as it raised its
revenue target by a slender 0.9%. As part of its restructuring measures, the
company earlier announced a cut of 5,000 jobs, the sale of its PC business and the
split off of its TV division into a separate subsidiary. Sony also slashed its full year
operating profit forecast to ВҐ26 billion from ВҐ80
John Burgoyne s Defeat At The Battle Of Saratoga
While British general John Burgoyne was nicknamed Gentleman Johnny due to his
adoration for leisure and fashion, history remembered him for the British loss at
the Battle of Saratoga. Being an experienced general who have served in various
combats, Burgoyne s over confidence of himself and his plan to conquer the
Hudson River Valley contributed to the defeat at the Battle of Saratoga. It became a
noteworthy and defining moment in the war as it gave the Americans certainty and
French alliance. First of all, Burgoyne s early life and career was embedded with
comfort and fame which created arrogance within him. Born on January 11, 1722 in
London, Burgoyne was raised in an upper class family where his parents provided

For the first weeks of the march, Burgoyne confronted numerous genuine
difficulties. Altogether under prepared, his armed force lacked necessities. On the
other hand, the Canadian militias immediately abandoned the army and Burgoyne
struggled to organize Britain s Indian allies. In addition, transportation difficulties
obstructed the armed force s progress. Despite difficulties, Burgoyne thrived on the
war zone. On July 6, his armed force caught Fort Ticonderoga, managing a
noteworthy blow to American morale. The next day, Burgoyne accomplished
another triumph over the Americans at Hubbardton. By early August, however,
Burgoyne s favorable luck ran out. As opposed to the expectations of the British
War Office, loyalists did not turn out in strength to bolster St. Leger. Buried in a
twenty one day attack of Fort Stanwix, St. Leger was compelled to withdraw into
Canada. In New York, Howe ruled against meeting Burgoyne at Albany for moving
into Pennsylvania to stand up to General George Washington s armed force.
Burgoyne did not hear about Howe s decision until it was past the point of no
return. Impeded by American endeavors to obstruct roads, Burgoyne s armed force
eased back to a creep as it moved toward Saratoga, where 12,000 Americans under

Comparison of Hinduism to Christianity
Hinduism is one of the earliest religons that is still practiced around the world. It
seeks to answer the same questions that Christianity does, but arrives at different
answers. It seeks truth, but fails to find it. Hinduism seeks to ask the question of
where do we come from? This question is not easily answerable. Because of the
nature of Hinduism, everything is in a cycle. There is no beginning and there is no
end. Hinduism also does not have a set of defined rules because of it s views on
multiple views and believes. Because of this, we see a few different origins for
human kind, but Hinduism fails to give a definite definition.
Hinduism would next ask the question of Identity. What does it mean to be human?
Ultimately Hinduism has a rather selfish view of this, even if it believes in peace
and harmony. It looks at people as all part of the same god essence . Humanities
purpose is to be brought back to nirvana. It is me centric. You try over and over to
live the perfect life. There is no grace for the things you do. Ultimately you are
responsible for living the perfect life and reaching Nirvana, a place where you are
one with the god essence .
So what is the meaning of all of this? Humanity must get to Moksha, which is
known as the release. It is a release from wanting and desiring. It is where you are
basically liberated from your humanity. It is the Hindu kind of salvation.
So what about Morality? How do we know what is right or wrong? Hinduism does

The Spinal Cord and Spinal Cord Injury
INTRODUCTION The spinal cord is a major channel in the body where motor and
sensory information travels from the brain to the body. It has white matter that
surrounds a central gray matter. The gray matter is where most of the neuronal cells
are located. Injury to the spinal cord will affect the conduction of information across
any part of the spinal cordwhere the damage is located (Maynard et al., 1997). This
will often result in permanent disability of a certain muscle or region of the body
(Meletis et al., 2008) and a loss of tissue where the damage is located (Peng et al.,
2009). As of now, there is no treatment for spinal cord injury expect for steroids. All

It is thought that during damage to the spinal cord, high levels of ATP are released
that can activate the P2X7 receptor. In pure cultures, P2X7 receptor antagonist are
thought to provide protect against the effects of P2X7. This is due to blocking the
receptors instead of trying to stop the inflammatory effects. Because the antagonists
can selectivly mediate the activation of P2X7, it is the perfect candidate for the
therapeutic treatment of spinal cord injurys (Domercq et al., 2009).
Stem Cell Research Stem cells are located in the spinal cord and they are hard to
identify (Konstantinos et al., 2008). Human embryonic stem cells have advantages
that other cell types do not contain. They have a large capacity for differentiation and
for expansion. They also help in remyelination. However, studies have shown that
human embryonic stem cell derived oligodendrocyte progenitor cells can help in
neuroprotection, homeostatic maintenance, suppressing inflammation, and
promoting the regeneration of axons. (Sharp et al., 2010). Most of the neural stem
cell potential is in ependymal cells (Meletis et al., 2008). Transplanting these
oligodendrocyte progenitor cells just one week after the injury showed widespread
oligodendrocyte remyelination throughout the white matter (Keirstead et al., 2005).

In the 1990s the auto industry made up 2.5 % of the GNP and employed about
850,000 people. At the time that was about 4.5 5 % of all manufacturing workers
(wong, 1990). Then during the early 2000s labor productivity was increasing greatly,
but the American auto makers failed to produce energy efficient cars for the energy
crisis. When the recent recession hit the U.S. automakers had a major setback
causing a cut in employment, production, and huge loss in revenue. After the
government bailout the industry improved, by 2012 sales, exports, and employment
rose to a new high. It s now 2014 and we are still getting out of the recession but due
to government decisions, deals made between companies, and increase in jobs, sales
have increased dramatically.
According to (Economic Contributions) building 60 million vehicles requires 9

Henry Viii Penal Laws
The Penal Laws grew out of the English Reformation and specifically from those
acts that established royal supremacy in the Church of England (see England,
Church of) in the reigns of Henry VIII and Elizabeth I. Under Henry VIII and
Edward VI civil disabilities were imposed on those who remained in communion
with Rome, thus denying the king s spiritual headship. Elizabeth I made it
impossible for Catholics to hold civil offices and imposed severe penalties upon
Catholics who persisted in recognizing papal authority. Fines and prison sentences
were prescribed for all who did not attend Anglican services, and the celebration of
the Mass was forbidden under severe penalties.

death has no actual face. Aliens, written and directed by James Cameron, follows a
former pilot, a group of marines and a corporate stiff as they go to investigate why
they have lost communication with a colony of people on a planet that the

criminological concepts from the course, that I believe led the person to engage in
criminal activity. The serial killer that I have selected for this essay project is ,
Dennis Rader, better known as the BTK Killer . The concepts that can be related to
why Rader committed this crimes are Hedonistic serial Killer, and Motivated by

Theme Of The Rose That Grew From Concrete
Imagine you were attempting to succeed overcome challenges in your life. In the
two text The Rose that Grew from Concrete and Mother to Son. It explains how
life can be hard for anyone. The poem The Rose that Grew from Concrete is about
how life is not easy and the poem Mother to Son is about how life is not easy for
everyone. Both poems share the theme of there is no easy way in life, but they way
the authors developed the theme was similar and different.
First, the poem The Rose that Grew from concrete uses Figurative Language and
Symbols to develop the theme of there is no easy way in life. First, the author uses
Figurative Language to develop the theme by showing us that the Rose can walk
without having feet. It says, it learned to walk without having feet. The author uses
Figurative Language to develop the theme of there is no easy way in life because
the author is giving the rose human like features, like walking. This shows the
theme because the author described that the rose was walking without having feet.
Second of all, the author uses characterization to develop the theme by showing us
that the mother is telling her son to persevere through life because it is not easy.
She is also telling him that her life is not easy. It says in the text And boards torn
up, And places with no carpet on the floor. This proves which somehow she needed
to step over to arrive where she stands now. This shows the author used Symbols to
develop the theme of there is no easy way in life because the rose symbolises hope
and to never give up on your dreams. This is important to notice because the rose
represents his dreams. To sum up, the author revealed the theme through Figurative
Language and Symbolism which develops the theme there is no easy way in life.
The Poem Mother to Son uses Figurative Language and Characterization this
develops the theme of there is no easy way in life. To begin, the author uses
Figurative Language to develop the theme by showing us that the stairs represent the
mother s life. It says Life for me ain t been no crystal stair.Life for me ain t been no
crystal stair. This means her her life has not been easy that is what the stair stands for.
The author uses figurative
The Arrival Of Home Video
The arrival of home video however had an opposite impact. And it was just a
beginning of the whole technological revolution that will completely turn people s
film watching habits upside down. Film viewing was taken into the comfort of the
home space with the arrival of television. However the capabilities that home video,
followed by DVD s, Blu rays, Netflix and all the other VOD services, were a true
breakthrough for the filmbuffs. This change on one hand inaugurated a completely
new stage of cinema s relocation to multiple other platforms, on the other ripped off
the cult, quasi religious facet of cinema going and spectatorship. In 1996 a New York
Times published an article by Susan Sonntag The Decay of Cinema , in which she
announced the end of cinephilia. She wrote:
The conditions of paying attention in a domestic space are radically disrespectful of
film. (...)
To be kidnapped, you have to be in a movie theater, seated in the dark among
anonymous strangers.
What Sonntag here sentimentally mentions was a unique cinema experience, seeing a
picture on a wide screen, coexisting in the particular time and space with other
spectators. Being among strangers, nevertheless was a very communal experience
and discussions after the screenings in cine clubs were a norm. The way we access
and view films has changed dramatically. First of all film has moved out of its
canonical location, spread to new environments cable tv, mobile devices, digital and

Importance of Chain of Command and Its Use in Army

ARMY Importance of Chain Of Command and Its Use in Army Student Name
University Name Importance of Chain Of Command and Its Use in Army
Introduction Chain of command can be defined as a line of authority that extends
from the top level of the organization to its lowest level. Chain of demand clearly
defines that who is accountable to whom and what tasks are to be performed by all
the employees. In addition to that, it also clarifies that who should be contacted when
any critical situation or problem occurs. Managers usually use the chain of command
while assigning jobs to the employees as it helps the employees in understanding who
should they report to and who should they contact in case of a problem. There are
three basic components of the chain of command (Mahida). The components are
listed below: Authority: Authority represents the power that lies within a managerial
position and that gives the manager the right to assign the jobs to his subordinates
and to expect that the assigned jobs would be completed by the subordinates. By the
virtue of authority, the superiors are empowered to make their juniors and
subordinates work. The organizational structure should clearly define the line of
authority so that the overlapping actions might be avoided (Mahida). Responsibility
The second component of the chain of command is responsibility. The manager
assigns different jobs to his subordinates and it is
Values Of Education
Values are virtues, ideals and qualities on which actions and beliefs are based. Values
are guiding principles that shape our world outlook, attitudes and conduct. (Dhunnoo.
et al., n.d.). Human beings have needs: physical and emotional. Some of these needs
are catered at home while others at school or religious institutions or the society itself.
The schoolas an institution of educationis responsible for the cognitive and affective
development of the learners. However in Mauritius, our primary school curriculum
has been focusing mainly on the cognitive domain since ages. Teaching is mostly
done in a traditional way; spoon feeding and rote learning since teachers are exam
driven. They would teach students in order to prepare them for the final exams at the
end of the year, rather than for their whole life. The main goal of the education

First and foremost, the philosophical perspective will focus on the field of axiology
(ethics), that is, our notions of right , good , and wrong . In my point of view, right
is to abide by rules and regulations and good refers to a virtue, that is, something
that is morally right while bad is something that is unacceptable or morally wrong.
For instance, I find that greeting family members, friends and neighbours upon
meeting them is something good while misbehaving with these people is something
that is considered bad . Wearing seat belts during driving is considered right because
we are adhering to the traffic laws. Similarly, I think that helping someone in need
emotionally, physically and financially is a good action. Hence, according to me,
individuals should behave in a way that is deemed well in society; responsible,

Teaching Methods Based On Teaching English Language
Learners
Abstract
The purpose of this report is to recommend to the Winn Parish School Board the
teaching method that would be the most effective for teaching English Language
Learners (ELLs). I analyzed two available solutions: the scaffolding teaching method
and the differentiated instruction teaching method. I evaluated both teaching methods
based on the flexibility in regards to allowing students needs to be met, ease of
implementation of each teaching strategy into the classroom, and effectiveness of
how of each method helps the students learn and complete what is required of them.
My research methodology began with researching who English Language Learners
are in general and how they have begun to impact American classrooms and
teachers. I also conducted general research on the scaffolding and differentiated
instruction teaching methods. After conducting my general research, I decided
which three criteria I would focus on as I performed more specific research on my
topic. I also interviewed Mrs. Jamie McLarty, a veteran Spanish teacher at Calvin
High School in Calvin, Louisiana, who has taught English Language Learners for
sixteen years. Once I gathered all of my information, I examined and analyzed it so
that I could choose the teaching method that would be the most effective for teaching
English Language Learners.
The scaffolding teaching method gives all of the students one specific goal for the
lesson; however, the differentiated instruction method gives several
The Five Senses Of Touch Or Tactile Communication
Touch or tactile communication is described as the earliest and probably the most
basic form of communication. (Richmond, 2012, p. 174) From the first handshake
between professionals preparing to negotiate the terms of a business deal to the first
touch between the newborn and mother to the first kiss between new lovers, touch
can send a powerful and memorable message.
All know that the five senses are sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch. However,
perhaps few have consciously considered that while the senses of sight, hearing,
smell, and taste are restricted to specific parts of the human body, the sense of touch is
the only sense initiated from all over the body. (Richmond, 2012, p. 175) From the

178) This apparent age related decline in touch communication has led Western
society into a mass state of touch depravation. (Richmond, 2012, p. 179) Research has
found that body contact is less frequent among North
Americans, who are often referred to as noncontact oriented.
(Richmond, 2012, p. 186) Touch depravation is problematic because it has been
shown that a lack of touch can negatively affect the ability to develop and can result
in a variety of health problems. (Richmond, 2012, p. 191) Touch depravation has led
to another phenomena among adults in Western society called touch substitution
wherein professional functional touch is substituted to play a very significant role
in everyday life. (Richmond, 2012, p. 179) Richmond also reports, adults often use
the services of licensed touchers to fulfill the body contact needs that result from
decreased adult contact in our society. We hire masseuses and masseurs, barbers, and
beauty specialists, and may sometimes even increase our visits to the doctor merely
to get a good dose of tactile medicine. (Richmond, 2012, p.
Going Look At The Stars
Go look at the stars. Now look at the paper. Now look at the stars. Now look at the
paper. Now take one last look at the sky and count the number of visible stars. Not
many, right? The problem of being a miniscule part of a vast Universe is our
incapability to observe and understand the Universe, especially with the naked eye.
Even in ancient Greece, people observed the skies, understanding it in order to
locate their relative positions and noticing the movements of the sun and the moon.
Many believe that a Greek cosmology does not form until the Pre Socratic works of
600 B.C.E., but there are signs that point to the Greek tradition of epic poems as a
means of communicating astronomical information, the first of which was written
down by Homer, who is considered the first epic poet (Hetherington 54, Murnaghan
l). Before delving into Homer s poems, it is important to first understand the history
of Greek civilization because his poems reflect several historic periods spanning
hundreds of year. After 2000 B.C.E. Greek speaking people arrived in what we call
Greece, establishing the Mycenaean civilization, which thrived, becoming rich with
powerful cities that were military strongholds and international trade centers
(Murnaghan l). Through their trade with nearby islands, they adopted a syllabary
system of writing from the Minoans, who flourished on the island Crete (Murnaghan
l). However, the next evidence of Greek writing is not seen until the Phoenician
alphabet is
Leontes Irrational Judgment
Everyone on this earth shows immoral actions and shows irrational judgement from
time to time. The Winter s Tale, by William Shakespeare, shows this through Leontes.
The Winter s Tale illustrates that all of Leontes immoral decisions and irrational
accusations originate from private judgement. Shakespeare shows this by Leontes
failing to see the whole and examine the past, to trust the wisdom of authority, and to
see recurring patterns and to trust the many pieces of evidenceand testimonies of
witnesses that converge to verify the truth. The first point is how Leontes fails to see
the whole and examine the past. Leontes believes that his wife, Hermione, and
childhood friend, Polixenes, are having an affair. He believes this because Polixenes
agrees to stay in Sicily only when Hermione asks him to stay. Leontes... Show more

Antigonus, one of Leontes servants, states Be certain what you do, sir, lest your

Antigonus is so sure he is right that he says If it prove She s otherwise, I ll keep my
stables where I lodge my wife; I ll go in couples with her; Than when I feel and see
her no farther trust her; For every inch of woman in the world, Ay, every dram of

becomes angry towards her king. She says Nay, rather, good my lords, be second to
me: Fear you his tyrannous passion more, alas, Than the queen s life? a gracious

Hermione is innocent. She also tells Leontes Not so: I am as ignorant in that as you

Steroids for Medical Use
If someone did something, they probably enjoy it and relish what they do, so
naturally they would want to improve. For some, the desire may be so strong that
they could consider doing an illegal substance. Everyone has most likely heard of
steroids and wonder what they are. Steroids were first found naturally from
hormones. (E) Later could be made into a synthetic drug. The most known steroids
are anabolic and cortisone steroids. (D) This means it can be created in a science
lab. Steroids can be taken either orally or injected directly into the muscle. (C,D)
So someone could take steroids by a pill or inject a liquid via needle. Some side
effects of steroids can be reverse easily, by just stopping to use the drug. (D)
Steroids were first used in World War Two. Steroids were used to increase
aggression in older Nazi soldiers. Steroids would increase aggression due to
something known as roid rage which makes the user angry. They were not only
used on soldier, but also used on P.O.W. (E) Prisoners were given steroids so they
would be stronger, making them live a little longer and to increase production in
forced labor camps. Steroids are used for many different reasons, even to this day.
Steroids are used for many different reasons because of such benefits as medical
use; increase of strength or for athletics. Steroids have been used for medical
reasons, including treatment of a health issue or just to help a sufferers deal with
illnesses a little easier. First of all,
Capitalism Vs Capitalism
Capitalism is a system based on freedom, based on individual autonomy and rights
.it is essentially the economic result of a free market. Marx explains capitalism as a
means of production based on private ownership and no government interference.
For capitalism to be successful, prices of goods have to be competitive or lower than
the market value, and sources of labor have to be completely saturated to its carcass.
Capitalismdistinguishes itself from the feudal and the modern systems in that its
exploitation is more transparent. The exploitation of previous systems was hidden
behind religion, morality, and sentiments, whilst capitalism is maintained purely on
money and naked self interest.
Over the past decade, the United States has arguably moved to a more capitalist
economy, where all property, goods, and services are owned by private individuals.
Prices of commodity and labor are allowed to fluctuate based on the forces of supply
and demand, and industries are allowed to function and thrive independent of
government restrictions or interventions. (Ross, 2017). However, their adoption of a
capitalist economy is one which domination, vertical and horizontal monopoly
triumphs.
Capitalism in the United States has gradually transformed. It has become an economy
where domination, vertical and horizontal monopoly triumphs. The economy is not
only now intertwined with other aspects of society but sets the stage on the direction
the nation should go. The free market
Marine Corps Ethical Issues
There is a lurking ethical issue that is facing contemporary society and that has
already started to affect the military, but has the potential to grow even more
monstrous. Online privacy or internet privacy is the root of this issue and following
the revelations of widespread data collection by the United States government, among
others, the public has to decide whether to push for legislation that would safeguard
their online privacy, and which criteria, if any, should first be met by government
agencies before invading civilians privacy . The main point of this issue with
leadership in the MarineCorps is the freedom of speech on social media. Marine
Corps leaders need to ensure steps for troops realize the impact of their online
interactions, how their identity translates beyond just themselves but to the entire
Marine Corps, and how you have to be all in. Young Marines are a generation that
use social media to communicate and socialize by sharing certain or every detail of
their lives (Simpson). Young Marines believe that they can disclose any information
without filter because there are no clear cut defining actions to identify the right and
wrong things to post on social media. Marines should realize that their actions online
can disgrace or discredit themselves which may have a negative impact for the
integrity of the Marine... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In conclusion some of the things our young Marines do on the Internet undermines
that trust, and Marine Corps leadership has an obligation to ensure that Marines
understand this and modify their behavior accordingly, both on social media as well
in the community. Wearing the uniform is a privilege and no Marine has the right to
wear the uniform and then degrade the Marine Corps with an offensive video or

The Payment System Used For Settlement Of Retail
Payment...
In this competitive era, it is imperative for a well functioning economy to imply
effective methods for businesses to pay their employees, suppliers and investors, for
households to purchase goods and services, and for governments to collect taxes and
make payments, such as pensions and interest on bonds. These payments, known as
retail or low value payments include debit and credit cardtransactions, cheques and
direct entry transactions (Hunt Terry 2014). In order to improve the efficiency of the
payment system, Reserve Bankof Australia introduced a new settlement arrangement.
The new same day settlement system would increase the rate of supply of funds and
reduce the risks associated with deferred net payment system. The... Show more

According to the Reserve Bank of Australia (2015), large value payments are
settled one by one on a real time gross settlement (RTGS) basis, while retail
payments (which make up to 10% of the value of RITS interbank settlement) are
settled on a net settlement basis. However, for several years, net clearing was
undertaken after hours of tallying ADIs deposited amounts during the day. The ADIs
would calculate the net amounts each of them owed to one another to settle their
obligations on payment orders. Only then, the RBA would be advised of the cleared
net obligations and the transferring of ES funds would take place the next day at 9
A.M. Although this system, referred to as deferred net payment system(DNS)
handles very large payment orders deposited each day by net clearing to reduce the
amount of funds ADIs have to pay for settlement of obligations(Hunt Terry 2014), the
payments are still deferred until the next day. This phenomenon generally poses a
disadvantage of settlement risk (an ADI might default on their obligations).
Moreover, if an ADI was unable to settle their obligations due to insufficient funds,
the whole settlement process would be delayed. The longer the period between
settlements, the larger these credit exposures could become, and the greater the
opportunity for an institution to default on these obligations (Fraser Gatty 2014).
Hence, the payment system board decided to make a
Essay On Sir Walter Raleigh
Sir Walter Raleigh the explorer was born in 1552, or possibly 1554 and died in
1618. He grew up in a farmhouse near a village called East Budleigh in Devon. He
had four older brothers. He was also raised as a strict Protestant. Raleigh s family
faced oppression under Queen Mary I, a Catholic, and as a result, young Walter
developed a lifelong hatred of the Roman Catholics. In 1578, Raleigh set out with
his half brother, Sir Humphrey Gilbert on a voyage to North America to find the
Northwest Passage. Never reaching its destination, the mission turned into a
privateering raid against Spanish shipping. His brash actions were not well received
by the Privy Council, and he was briefly imprisoned. Over time he turned into an
adventurer, writer and nobleman. After growing close to Queen Elizabeth I during
his time in the army, Raleigh was knighted in 1585 and became captain of the guard.

After buying his freedom, Raleigh married Bessy and distanced himself from the
jealous English queen. After Elizabeth s death in 1603, Raleigh was implicated as
an enemy of her descendant, King James I, and was given a death sentence.
Mainly because Sir Walter Raleigh s aggressive actions toward the Spanish did not
sit well with the anti war King James I. Raleigh s enemies worked to taint his
reputation with the new king and he was soon charged with treason and
condemned to death. However, his sentence was disputed, and Raleigh was freed
to lead an expedition to the New World. For this particular expedition, his goal was
to launch a gold mine by the Orinoco River, in South America. He told the in debt
king that if he was released and charges were dropped, he would find gold and make
England richer than Spain. The king thought it would be possible for Raleigh to
Teacher As A High School Teacher
I ve known for a while that I want to do something that helps better shape the lives
of young people. I have had some excellent teachers over the years, and I want to
be able to do what they did for me for other students. My mother and a few of my
other relatives and family friends are teachers, so I ve seen and heard about the
experience firsthand for most of life. Sometimes my mom comes home and says
she had a great day and she loves her job, but other times she is pretty miserable.
Seeing the smile and the struggle that comes with teaching is what really inspired
me. A job where you have a perfect, enjoyable day every day of the year does not
exist. Every job comes with a little bit of struggle; without struggle it won t get better.
The first secondary school was originally meant to train and prepare students to enter
the clergy. In the 1800s secondary schooling became available for children from
different social standings, and in the early 1900s attending secondary school was
made mandatory in the US (Career in Focus Education, p. 40). The secondary school
system has progressed quite a bit over the years for students and teachers alike.
The job of a secondary teacher is composed of several parts, but the most important
part is the actual teaching. Not only do high school teachers educate students on
specific subjects, they also inform students about colleges, jobs, and sometimes
multiple subjects. High school teachers can teach basic, core subjects such as math

Sheps Monologue
This extract by Richard Yates is a recount of Shep Cambells past where he struggles
to accept the monotony of his life; attempting, and ultimately failing, to lead the life
of an intellectual. It is made clear that throughout the novel the characters struggle
with their own identity, maintaining a facade and, in the Campbell s case, moving
in an attempt to fulfil what they feel life has to offer them. They are blind to their
own mediocrity and Sheps intellectual pursuits are motivated by basic and primal
urges. This acts as a precursor and warning for the Wheelers themselves. Yates
presents the reader with this passage to display Sheps self delusion about his own
identity, a facade he adopts in order to make himself appear superior to others....

At the start of this passage Shep is said to have woke up this term is reminiscent of
a religious awakening, a sudden realisation of his monotonous life. Yates is
attributing a religious fervour to Sheps delusion. When juxtaposing the isolated
and lifeless setting of Sheps close set identical houses in the desert to the life that
he wanted to live a stark contrast is drawn emphasising his failed expectations for
life. The religious imagery is continued in the repetition of The East conveying it
as a religious promised land. His arrival in the East, however, reveals it to be big,
dirty, loud and cruel not only is Sheps true ignorance highlighted here but this
further exposes how his expectations in life cannot be met. Shep eventually settles
in Revolutionary Road the irony lying in the fact that it is a graveyard of failed
dreams for those who ve conformed. Yates conveys Sheps inevitable conformity
through the circular structure of the passage. It begins with Sheps disdain at his
co workers and there settled faces appearing to be content with the life they lead.
However, at the end of this passage Shep leaves the city and at last he settled . Shep
has become what he had previously been so critical of, leaving his dreams behind
and settling down in the suburbs into a banal existence. This circular structure can
also be seen as he begins the passage stating that this was the time I sort of went
crazy and at the end Milly considers finding a psychiatrist for him because his actions
are seen as insane. Any attempt to be different is looked upon as crazy. This circular
structure shows how no matter what one tries they cannot escape their own
monotonousness

Psychology Research Methods Psychology over time has ventured away from its
ethical roots began to look at scientific methods of studying the behavior of human
beings. Today s researchers use a variety of scientific techniques along with others
test, predict behavior and explain it.
Experimental method involving manipulating one s ability to chance to determine if
the changes in one s ability to change cause changes in another s ability to change.
Correlational studies look for relationships among the different changes. With three
areas of possible outcomes of correlation studies: a negative, positive, or no
correlation. The correlation strength has a range from 1.00 to +1.00.
Longitudinal research is used to discover relationships between the ability to change
that are not related to various backgrounds and the ability to change. The length of
longitudinal studies can last 20 years or more observational research involves
studying the same individuals over a longer than normal period of time. Data may be
gathered repeatedly in some cases, there is generally a collection of information at the
beginning of the study, and throughout the study additional information is collected
as needed. (Cherry, What is Psychology?, n.y)

Zelda Breath Of The Wild
Open world game is the game that players can go around the world without

also one of the hardest concept for game developer because the game requires to
show various places with no repetitive contents. For example, The Division, open
worldthird person shooter game in 2016, successfully showed destroyed New York

to get Sprite Orbs, the object that upgrade the number of Link s maximum hearts or

Business Communication Is The Art Of Communicating
Business communication is the art of communicating in a professional environment.
It is both an art and science and the life s blood of any successful corporation. The
premise of business communication is that the writer is always speaking with the
audience in mind. She has to make the content relevant and usable to the reader or it
is not effective. Unlike other forms of writing, such as academic writing which has a
captive audience, business writing is always a negotiation with a fluid audience that
has the ability to come or go as they please. It is this dynamic fluidity that draws the
Millennial Generation to the field of business communication in droves. The
Millennial Generation is defined as those born in the early 1981 to 1996 (Millennials
in Adulthood). The digitized world of the Millennials has also transformed the field
of business communication. The Millennials have influenced workplace
communication by creating continuously connected work teams, collaboration
without boarders, and greater diversity in employee engagement. The intertwining of
social media, Millennials, and workplace communication has made the workplace a
more flexible and productive environment. The previous generation could only
transform what they could touch; therefore they were limited in their connectivity
and productivity. These generations known as the baby boomers and the silent
generation, were limited to their one departmental idea. In the spirit of the Ford
assembly

Essay On Adult Literacy. 6 Technology to Promote Adult Literacy Improving Adult Literacy ...

  • 1. Essay On Adult Literacy Writing an essay on the subject of adult literacy can present a myriad of challenges. Firstly, the topic itself is broad and multifaceted, requiring extensive research and a deep understanding of various aspects such as educational policies, socio-economic factors, and teaching methodologies. Gathering relevant and reliable sources to support arguments can be time- consuming, especially considering the need for up-to-date statistics and scholarly articles. Additionally, addressing the complexities of adult literacy demands a nuanced approach that considers diverse perspectives and experiences. It's essential to acknowledge the barriers faced by adult learners, including cultural stigmas, lack of access to resources, and personal challenges. Crafting a sensitive and informed discussion while avoiding stereotypes or oversimplifications requires careful attention to language and tone. Moreover, structuring the essay effectively to convey key points coherently can be a daunting task. Balancing between providing theoretical frameworks, empirical evidence, and practical solutions without overwhelming the reader requires skillful organization and clarity of expression. Each section must flow logically into the next, guiding the reader through complex ideas without losing their interest or understanding. Furthermore, grappling with the ethical implications of the topic adds another layer of complexity. Addressing issues of social justice, equity, and empowerment requires thoughtful reflection and a commitment to advocating for meaningful change. It's essential to approach the subject with empathy and humility, recognizing the dignity and agency of adult learners while highlighting the systemic injustices that perpetuate illiteracy. In conclusion, writing an essay on adult literacy entails navigating a challenging terrain of research, sensitivity, and critical analysis. However, despite the difficulties, it offers an opportunity to shed light on a pressing social issue and advocate for positive transformation in education. By engaging with this topic thoughtfully and compassionately, we can contribute to building a more inclusive and equitable society. Similar essays and much more can be ordered on HelpWriting.net. • 2. Exploring Beginning Teachers Perceptions On Formal... Exploring Beginning Teachers Perceptions on Formal Mentoring Programs in Elementary Schools Introduction Central Phenomenon The risk of losing beginning teachers has been an issue in the United States for a long time. An immense amount of research has been conducted exploring why beginning teachers are leaving the profession. Fantilli and McDougall s (2009) pointed out that beginning teachers have the same responsibilities and requirements as veteran teachers, but in addition to these factors, feel the additional pressure that most people feel starting a new vocation. As a result, beginning teachers spend a disproportionate amount of time and effort simply to keep their heads above water (p. 814). In the article Hello, Goodbye: Exploring the Phenomenon of Leaving Teaching Early, a qualitative study was conducted to explore why beginning teachers are leaving the profession. Through an interview process, former beginning teachers identified negative factors that influenced their decision to leave the profession. These factors included working with unmotivated colleagues, feeling isolated, feeling that they did not receive support or recognition from administration, dealing with administrative problems, and not having flexibility and freedom to decide how they teach in their classrooms. The purpose of exploring this phenomenon of teachers leaving their profession early in their career is to determine why it is happening and how it can be prevented in the future.
  • 3. Essay about Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation was founded in 1863 when Mr. Henry Williams purchased Old Fort Park and donated it to the city of Fort Wayne. Since then, Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation has continued to grow acquiring 85 more parks which include Reservoir Park in 1880, Foster Park golf course in 1928, Fort Wayne s Children s Zoo in 1962, the Botanical Conservatory in 1979 and more recently Robert E. Meyer s Park in 2008. This organization does much more for the community than just taking care of the city s parks. Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation also hosts many activities in town including multiple different camps for children and young adults. (City of Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation, 2013) Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation organization budgeted for and planned a way to help save this tree species. For the past couple years, biannual Ash tree treatments have been in place to help save the Ash trees of Fort Wayne. This past summer 647 Ash trees in Fort Wayne were treated to prevent the Ash Borer from killing them. Because this treatment is a biannual treatment, only half of the population of Ash trees was treated the summer of 2013. The other half of the population was treated the previous summer and will be treated again in the summer of 2014. (City of Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation, 2013) Davey Resource group was the lowest bidder and took on the project of treating the Ash trees. Davey Resource Group provides a full range of natural resource and utility consulting services to the commercial, residential, municipal and governmental markets. (Davey) The question arose about the cost benefits of treating the tree versus cutting them down. It cost approximately $43.00 to treat one tree versus the $400.00 to cut the tree down, grind the stump away, and plant a new tree in its place. Even though many Ash trees have been saved by this treatment, it was too late for some. So far 10,500 Ash trees have been cut down in the city of Fort Wayne because they were attacked by the Ash Borer. This year another 2,447 will be cut down also. Mudrack Tree Experts have
  • 4. Sweatshops In Developing Countries Todays, when the citizenship is concentrated, sweatshop is becoming a striking issue of controversies. Especially in developed countries, this problem is always boycotted, but on the other hand it is an opportunity for people in underdeveloped countries to change their lives. Although sweatshop is considered as a complex issue with underpayment and underworking environment, they are beneficial to change the old ideologies, economic growth, and fair working conditions. Firstly, women choose to work in sweatshops in developing countries because this is their only source step out of unavailable and unthinkable situation. Women in these countries tolerated outdated beliefs, such as being restricted to domestic chores and relying on their husbands. Their lives are always in a vicious circle that they want to escape but do not know the right way, so working in sweatshops provide women not only chance to create stable income, but also sense of their own independence. As the writer mentions that with the small income from garment sweatshop, women in Bangladesh can manage their finances, have their own choice in marriage and having children (Sachs, quoted in Garyfalakis, para5). Moreover, they have chance to go to school and gain their special skills. For example, earning $1 to $2 in Indonesia or Bangladesh sounds unbelievable, but it can help a woman feed her kids and restrict diarrhea disease (Kristof and Wudunn, 2000). Women in these countries also admitted that even
  • 5. Examples Of American Imperialism From 1880 to 1914, Industrial European countries favored the idea of Imperialism in African colonies which motivated them to acquire resources, riches, and territory which eventually led them to seemingly have an attitude in which their race was superior. Even before Imperialism became popular, England had colonies such as the American Colonies which spread their ethnicity and race as well as their power. Europeans countries began to comprehend and understand that they could use the resources for their operations and expansion toward their country. The De Beers Mining Company was a prime example of how Imperialism allowed European countries to obtain resources and territory which made them stronger and richer. Africawas the motherload,... England, which had many colonies all over the world had helped them earn the title as one of the most powerful and richest countries on Earth during the mid 1700 s. England also influenced their race and religion to the American colonies through fighting off the French and Indians during the French and Indian War. England was also able to control most of the world s international shipping due to it s large navy and it s ports all around the world which was an early example of Imperialism. Colonization had certainly been proven to strengthen empires such as England that led them to prosperity for a long period of
  • 6. Women And Women s Suffrage The idea of women gaining the right to vote was one such of a tale. Men, and women never thought they would see the day where women were considered equal suffragists. Until August 18, 1920 when the nineteenth amendment was ratified into the United States Constitution, granting women the right to vote. Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and Susan B. Anthonydied before they could see the day where women would become equal. Carrie Chapman Catt worked hand in hand with Susan B. Anthony, and served as the president of the National American Woman Suffrage Association(NAWSA). Alice Paul served as a role model for women. She worked for women s suffrage while in jail, and proved to her opponents, that the day where women could vote would come. Though these women did not always work together, working towards the same cause allowed them to accomplish their true dream: women s suffrage. July 19th, 1848 the Seneca Falls Convention was held in Seneca Falls, New York. This was the first women s rights gathering that addressed the issues and conditions for women. Elizabeth Cady Stanton worked on the convention, and it began a bigger suffrage movement, than ever before. Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and Susan B. Anthony not only were two leading suffragists, but together they edited and published, the Revolution a radical women s newspaper (Harper). Working together didn t only improve their belief of equal suffrage, but it helped for them to grow the knowledge of the issue. Together, they formed
  • 7. My High School High School: The Early Years High school was hard for me, just like it can be for any awkward teenager. Most people would say it can be hard because they had to move to a new school, or did not have many friends. It was hard early on for me because I did not know exactly where I fit in. I felt out of place just by being in the school building. I eventually found my place in high schooloutside of sports, on the academic team, and in FFA. The beginning of my freshman year I decided that I was not going to play sports anymore. I had dislocated my left knee cap more times than I could count, and I just came back from surgery after tearing my ACL. The decision was hard because I had been playing sports since I was three years old. I thought that I could not live without sports in my life. All my friends were made while playing sports, which they still were my friends but we did not have the connection we once had. I felt left out of the conversations all fall fast pitch season because I was not there to witness the events as they were happening. I knew that I did not want to feel left out during basketball season, or the rest of my high school career. That winter I found my place, and that place was in the student section at basketball games. I learned all the cheers and chants, and soon found myself leading a few of them every now and again. My sophomoreyear I began leading all of the chants and cheers all the time. I could scream and yell at the top of my lungs, and I was encouraged to do it as much as I could. I spent the next two years leading everything. I was asked by the team multiple times to come and cheer, because it kept the players playing hard knowing they had support. I was not a part of their team, but I was needed by them as if I was. The academic team has been a safe place for me to be for many years. Going into my freshman year, I thought it would be easy just like all the other years. I learned that I was wrong about that assumption. My team was a young team that consisted of four freshmen, and two sophomores. Not only were we at a disadvantage with the amount of people we had, but the questions were suited for juniors and seniors. Some of the questions that were asked I could not even
  • 8. Paper On Aladdin Aladdin is a Walt Disney movie that released in 1992. The animated movie is based on an Arab style folktale of Aladdin and the Magic Lamp from One Thousand and One Nights. This movie is based upon a street rat named Aladdin, who lives in Agrabah with his monkey friend Abu. When a princess named Jasmine gets tired of being told what to do she sneaks out to the marketplace, where she accidentally meets Aladdin. Under the orders of Jafar (the sultan s advisor), Aladdin is thrown in jail and gets tricked into Jafar s plot to rule the land with a mysterious lamp. • 9. The Use Of Mandatory Continuing Professional Development... The iconic journalist and one of the most trusted figures in American television, Walter Cronkite once said that in seeking the truth, one must get to both sides of the story [1]. It may be philosophically worded perhaps, but it is unequivocally true. As such, the likely introduction of mandatory continuing professional development by the PEO is a thorny topic that must be critically analyzed and scrutinized on both ends of the spectrum. Those in support for continuing professional development argue that practitioners get applicable training on the job and that certain concepts such as ethics simply do not change and thus don t require a statue for mandatory continuing development. However, others have an antipodal perspective, arguing that continuing professional development should be mandatory to prevent loss of knowledge over time and to allow members to keep at pace with the latest practices and procedures of the engineeringprofession. Perhaps the most convincing argument that those against continuing professional development provide is that engineers get all the adequate skills training on the job. This is most prevalent for new engineering graduates, that can spend up to two years getting trained prior to starting the job. Take for example, Lehigh Hanson Canada subsidiary of the building materials conglomerate, HeidelbergCement Group. New graduates spend 24 months in a comprehensive program that provides on the job as well as formal training [2]. To put in
  • 10. Military Child Essay Korinda Rehling Rodriguez ENG 098R 1053 FINAL DRAFT Military Child: Brat Pure hell took its course on me as a young innocent girl. Being a military brat definitely impacted my life in many challenging ways. The term military brat is usually misunderstood by non military population. A military brat is a child from a parent who is in the military. My mother was a commanding officer which made me and my siblings labeled military brat The word brat (by itself) may seem negative. In the context of Mr. Smith s Arrest, he was arrested without a warrant of arrest and there was a search, which was conducted by a private citizen on his premises without a search warrant, the courts upheld his arrest and subsequent conviction thus implying that all due processwas followed before reaching at the verdict. The constitutionality of search and arrest without a warrant was challenged in the case of PayTon v. Newyork, (1980) (Payton v. New York | Casebriefs, 2017). The Supreme Court consolidated two cases where the police gained entry into the defendants home without a search warrant and seized evidence found in the house. A terrible fire! Mercy! Oh, that fire! some of the men pressed up against the bars. There was nothing there; only darkness. • 29. The Picture Of Dorian Gray And Doctor Faustus Analysis Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full grown, gives birth to death (James 1:15). In The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde and Doctor Faustus by Christopher Marlowe; the character progression in the protagonists of both novels is the epitome of one s demise from greed. Both Dr. Faustus and Dorian Gray had desires out of their mortal reach, fueling their deals with Evil for the lust that dwelt within them. However our titular characters had different motivations that fueled their sin, with this motivation ultimately turning to regret in the end. Despite the opportunity to repent, both protagonists chose their desires instead, leading them down a path towards damnation. Both Dorian Gray and Dr. Faustus had self serving aspirations that goaded both characters to covenant with demonic powers; however what these aspirations the immoral protagonists had differed. Dorian Gray was an innocent youth that went down a course of exceptional hedonism under the influence of Lord Henry and his own volition. Dorian s journey starts when witnessing Basil s portrait of him stating, If it was I who were to be forever young, and the picture that were to grow old! unknowingly selling his soul through the words, I would give everything! Yes, there is nothing in the whole world I would not give! (Wilde 42). It was this desire to stay eternally youthful that allows Dorian to freely experience society s vices. The furthest extent of Dorian s sin was his murder of former friend Basil, who wishes to have Dorian s influence, be for good, not for evil but in the end this opportunity for redemption was literally stabbed in the back (Wilde 197). This climax of Dorian s wickedness leads him to question his actions and the dualist nature between his angelic appearance and devilish essence; the guilt of his sins weighing heavily on Dorian s mind. Dorian reminisces of the past stating: Was it really true that one could never change? He felt a wild longing for the unstained purity of his boyhood, his rose white boyhood, as Lord Henry had once called it. He knew that he had tarnished himself, filled his mind with corruption, and given horror to his fancy; that he had been an evil influence

It seeks to answer the same questions that Christianity does, but arrives at different answers. It seeks truth, but fails to find it. Hinduism seeks to ask the question of where do we come from? This question is not easily answerable. Because of the nature of Hinduism, everything is in a cycle. There is no beginning and there is no end. Hinduism also does not have a set of defined rules because of it s views on multiple views and believes. Because of this, we see a few different origins for human kind, but Hinduism fails to give a definite definition. Hinduism would next ask the question of Identity. What does it mean to be human? Ultimately Hinduism has a rather selfish view of this, even if it believes in peace and harmony. It looks at people as all part of the same god essence . Humanities purpose is to be brought back to nirvana. It is me centric. You try over and over to live the perfect life. There is no grace for the things you do. Ultimately you are responsible for living the perfect life and reaching Nirvana, a place where you are one with the god essence . So what is the meaning of all of this? Humanity must get to Moksha, which is known as the release. It is a release from wanting and desiring. It is where you are basically liberated from your humanity. It is the Hindu kind of salvation. So what about Morality? How do we know what is right or wrong? Hinduism does not really
  • 34. The Spinal Cord and Spinal Cord Injury INTRODUCTION The spinal cord is a major channel in the body where motor and sensory information travels from the brain to the body. It has white matter that surrounds a central gray matter. The gray matter is where most of the neuronal cells are located. Injury to the spinal cord will affect the conduction of information across any part of the spinal cordwhere the damage is located (Maynard et al., 1997). This will often result in permanent disability of a certain muscle or region of the body (Meletis et al., 2008) and a loss of tissue where the damage is located (Peng et al., 2009). It is thought that during damage to the spinal cord, high levels of ATP are released that can activate the P2X7 receptor. In pure cultures, P2X7 receptor antagonist are thought to provide protect against the effects of P2X7. This is due to blocking the receptors instead of trying to stop the inflammatory effects. Because the antagonists can selectivly mediate the activation of P2X7, it is the perfect candidate for the therapeutic treatment of spinal cord injurys (Domercq et al., 2009). Stem Cell Research Stem cells are located in the spinal cord and they are hard to identify (Konstantinos et al., 2008). Human embryonic stem cells have advantages that other cell types do not contain. They have a large capacity for differentiation and for expansion. They also help in remyelination. However, studies have shown that human embryonic stem cell derived oligodendrocyte progenitor cells can help in neuroprotection, homeostatic maintenance, suppressing inflammation, and promoting the regeneration of axons. (Sharp et al., 2010). Most of the neural stem cell potential is in ependymal cells (Meletis et al., 2008). Transplanting these oligodendrocyte progenitor cells just one week after the injury showed widespread oligodendrocyte remyelination throughout the white matter (Keirstead et al., 2005). Then during the early 2000s labor productivity was increasing greatly, but the American auto makers failed to produce energy efficient cars for the energy crisis. After the government bailout the industry improved, by 2012 sales, exports, and employment rose to a new high. It explains how life can be hard for anyone. The poem The Rose that Grew from Concrete is about how life is not easy and the poem Mother to Son is about how life is not easy for everyone. Both poems share the theme of there is no easy way in life, but they way the authors developed the theme was similar and different. First, the poem The Rose that Grew from concrete uses Figurative Language and Symbols to develop the theme of there is no easy way in life. First, the author uses Figurative Language to develop the theme by showing us that the Rose can walk without having feet. It says, it learned to walk without having feet. The author uses Figurative Language to develop the theme of there is no easy way in life because the author is giving the rose human like features, like walking. This shows the theme because the author described that the rose was walking without having feet. Second of all, the author uses characterization to develop the theme by showing us that the mother is telling her son to persevere through life because it is not easy. She is also telling him that her life is not easy. It says in the text And boards torn up, And places with no carpet on the floor. This proves which somehow she needed to step over to arrive where she stands now. This shows the author used Symbols to develop the theme of there is no easy way in life because the rose symbolises hope and to never give up on your dreams. This is important to notice because the rose represents his dreams. To sum up, the author revealed the theme through Figurative Language and Symbolism which develops the theme there is no easy way in life. The Poem Mother to Son uses Figurative Language and Characterization this develops the theme of there is no easy way in life. To begin, the author uses Figurative Language to develop the theme by showing us that the stairs represent the mother s life. However the capabilities that home video, followed by DVD s, Blu rays, Netflix and all the other VOD services, were a true breakthrough for the filmbuffs. This change on one hand inaugurated a completely new stage of cinema s relocation to multiple other platforms, on the other ripped off the cult, quasi religious facet of cinema going and spectatorship. In 1996 a New York Times published an article by Susan Sonntag The Decay of Cinema , in which she announced the end of cinephilia. She wrote: The conditions of paying attention in a domestic space are radically disrespectful of film. (...) To be kidnapped, you have to be in a movie theater, seated in the dark among anonymous strangers. What Sonntag here sentimentally mentions was a unique cinema experience, seeing a picture on a wide screen, coexisting in the particular time and space with other spectators. Being among strangers, nevertheless was a very communal experience and discussions after the screenings in cine clubs were a norm. The way we access and view films has changed dramatically. First of all film has moved out of its canonical location, spread to new environments cable tv, mobile devices, digital and online world. Cinema s

Importance of Chain of Command and Its Use in Army Running Head: IMPORTANCE OF CHAIN OF COMMAND AND ITS USE IN ARMY Importance of Chain Of Command and Its Use in Army Student Name University Name Importance of Chain Of Command and Its Use in Army Introduction Chain of command can be defined as a line of authority that extends from the top level of the organization to its lowest level. Chain of demand clearly defines that who is accountable to whom and what tasks are to be performed by all the employees. In addition to that, it also clarifies that who should be contacted when any critical situation or problem occurs. Managers usually use the chain of command while assigning jobs to the employees as it helps the employees in understanding who should they report to and who should they contact in case of a problem. There are three basic components of the chain of command (Mahida). The components are listed below: Authority: Authority represents the power that lies within a managerial position and that gives the manager the right to assign the jobs to his subordinates and to expect that the assigned jobs would be completed by the subordinates. By the virtue of authority, the superiors are empowered to make their juniors and subordinates work. The organizational structure should clearly define the line of authority so that the overlapping actions might be avoided (Mahida). Responsibility The second component of the chain of command is responsibility. The manager assigns different jobs to his subordinates and it is

Teaching Methods Based On Teaching English Language Learners Abstract The purpose of this report is to recommend to the Winn Parish School Board the teaching method that would be the most effective for teaching English Language Learners (ELLs). I analyzed two available solutions: the scaffolding teaching method and the differentiated instruction teaching method. I evaluated both teaching methods based on the flexibility in regards to allowing students needs to be met, ease of implementation of each teaching strategy into the classroom, and effectiveness of how of each method helps the students learn and complete what is required of them. My research methodology began with researching who English Language Learners are in general and how they have begun to impact American classrooms and teachers. I also conducted general research on the scaffolding and differentiated instruction teaching methods. After conducting my general research, I decided which three criteria I would focus on as I performed more specific research on my topic. I also interviewed Mrs. Jamie McLarty, a veteran Spanish teacher at Calvin High School in Calvin, Louisiana, who has taught English Language Learners for sixteen years. Once I gathered all of my information, I examined and analyzed it so that I could choose the teaching method that would be the most effective for teaching English Language Learners. The scaffolding teaching method gives all of the students one specific goal for the lesson; however, the differentiated instruction method gives several

Not many, right? The problem of being a miniscule part of a vast Universe is our incapability to observe and understand the Universe, especially with the naked eye. Even in ancient Greece, people observed the skies, understanding it in order to locate their relative positions and noticing the movements of the sun and the moon. Many believe that a Greek cosmology does not form until the Pre Socratic works of 600 B.C.E., but there are signs that point to the Greek tradition of epic poems as a means of communicating astronomical information, the first of which was written down by Homer, who is considered the first epic poet (Hetherington 54, Murnaghan l). Before delving into Homer s poems, it is important to first understand the history of Greek civilization because his poems reflect several historic periods spanning hundreds of year. After 2000 B.C.E. Greek speaking people arrived in what we call Greece, establishing the Mycenaean civilization, which thrived, becoming rich with powerful cities that were military strongholds and international trade centers (Murnaghan l). • 50. Capitalism Vs Capitalism Capitalism is a system based on freedom, based on individual autonomy and rights .it is essentially the economic result of a free market. Marx explains capitalism as a means of production based on private ownership and no government interference. For capitalism to be successful, prices of goods have to be competitive or lower than the market value, and sources of labor have to be completely saturated to its carcass. Capitalismdistinguishes itself from the feudal and the modern systems in that its exploitation is more transparent. The exploitation of previous systems was hidden behind religion, morality, and sentiments, whilst capitalism is maintained purely on money and naked self interest. Over the past decade, the United States has arguably moved to a more capitalist economy, where all property, goods, and services are owned by private individuals. Prices of commodity and labor are allowed to fluctuate based on the forces of supply and demand, and industries are allowed to function and thrive independent of government restrictions or interventions. (Ross, 2017). However, their adoption of a capitalist economy is one which domination, vertical and horizontal monopoly triumphs. Capitalism in the United States has gradually transformed. It has become an economy where domination, vertical and horizontal monopoly triumphs. The economy is not only now intertwined with other aspects of society but sets the stage on the direction the nation should go. The free market

According to the Reserve Bank of Australia (2015), large value payments are settled one by one on a real time gross settlement (RTGS) basis, while retail payments (which make up to 10% of the value of RITS interbank settlement) are settled on a net settlement basis. However, for several years, net clearing was undertaken after hours of tallying ADIs deposited amounts during the day. The ADIs would calculate the net amounts each of them owed to one another to settle their obligations on payment orders. Only then, the RBA would be advised of the cleared net obligations and the transferring of ES funds would take place the next day at 9 A.M. Although this system, referred to as deferred net payment system(DNS) handles very large payment orders deposited each day by net clearing to reduce the amount of funds ADIs have to pay for settlement of obligations(Hunt Terry 2014), the payments are still deferred until the next day. This phenomenon generally poses a disadvantage of settlement risk (an ADI might default on their obligations). Moreover, if an ADI was unable to settle their obligations due to insufficient funds, the whole settlement process would be delayed. The longer the period between settlements, the larger these credit exposures could become, and the greater the opportunity for an institution to default on these obligations (Fraser Gatty 2014). Hence, the payment system board decided to make a

They are blind to their own mediocrity and Sheps intellectual pursuits are motivated by basic and primal urges. This acts as a precursor and warning for the Wheelers themselves. Yates presents the reader with this passage to display Sheps self delusion about his own identity, a facade he adopts in order to make himself appear superior to others.... Yates is attributing a religious fervour to Sheps delusion. When juxtaposing the isolated and lifeless setting of Sheps close set identical houses in the desert to the life that he wanted to live a stark contrast is drawn emphasising his failed expectations for life. The religious imagery is continued in the repetition of The East conveying it as a religious promised land. His arrival in the East, however, reveals it to be big, dirty, loud and cruel not only is Sheps true ignorance highlighted here but this further exposes how his expectations in life cannot be met. Shep eventually settles in Revolutionary Road the irony lying in the fact that it is a graveyard of failed dreams for those who ve conformed. Yates conveys Sheps inevitable conformity through the circular structure of the passage. It begins with Sheps disdain at his co workers and there settled faces appearing to be content with the life they lead. However, at the end of this passage Shep leaves the city and at last he settled . Shep has become what he had previously been so critical of, leaving his dreams behind and settling down in the suburbs into a banal existence. This circular structure can also be seen as he begins the passage stating that this was the time I sort of went crazy and at the end Milly considers finding a psychiatrist for him because his actions are seen as insane. Any attempt to be different is looked upon as crazy. This circular structure shows how no matter what one tries they cannot escape their own monotonousness

It is both an art and science and the life s blood of any successful corporation. The premise of business communication is that the writer is always speaking with the audience in mind. She has to make the content relevant and usable to the reader or it is not effective. Unlike other forms of writing, such as academic writing which has a captive audience, business writing is always a negotiation with a fluid audience that has the ability to come or go as they please. It is this dynamic fluidity that draws the Millennial Generation to the field of business communication in droves. The Millennial Generation is defined as those born in the early 1981 to 1996 (Millennials in Adulthood). The digitized world of the Millennials has also transformed the field of business communication.
