Internship Statement For Internship
This summer I was very fortunate to be given the opportunity to participate in a
research and development internship at the world s largest snack company,
MondelД“z International, which is known for its iconic brands such as Oreo, Sour
Patch Kids, Triscuit, Trident, Swedish Fish, Cadbury, and many more. The
headquarters for this international giant is located in Chicago, Illinois; however, I
was employed in the research and development center positioned in East Hanover,
New Jersey. Completing my second year at Penn State last May fully aware that I
would be moving to New Jersey from my small hometown around Erie, PA, I was
under the perception that I had an idea of what the summer would hold for me.
However, this was an overstatement, for what I experienced in the time between May
and August truly altered my viewpoint on education, business, and food science.
Accepting the offer to participate in an internshipwith MondelД“z International last
fall, I understood that the experiencewould be very enriching, for this was what my
professors and older students conveyed. I set goals such as attempting to act as a
sponge, extracting every single experience/knowledge that I could from professionals
in the industry, networking with other food science students participating in the
internship as well as the mentors that would be leading me through the project,
exposing myself to a different lifestyle as a salary employee and resident of uniquely
cultured New Jersey, and many others.

In 1789 the United States Constitution was developed by the founding fathers. This
document was developed to give a basis for governing people and providing rules
to follow. As the world becomes a so called melting pot, of cultures, religions and
influx of immigrants, it is important to have a guideline of how to govern and
resolve disputes. Because of the diversity and ever changing society in which we
reside it is necessary to have a common set of rules and rights of how we live with
one another to provide some civility among diversity and beliefs. Since the beginning

Evoking Freedom Study
The Effects of Evoking Freedom Technique on Compliance Social influence and
the power of social situations have always been central topics of inquiry for
psychologists due to their impact on our everyday lives. Social influence refers to
the ways in which people alter their attitudes, emotions, and behaviors of others.
Every day, we encounter countless attempts by other people to influence us.
Likewise, we try to influence others. Compliance is a kind of social influence in
which an individual modifies his or her behavior in response to an appeal made by
another person. Many studies have investigated effective means of increasing
compliance rates.

Also, if the cost of the request plays an important role as predicted in determining
the compliance rate, we should see a higher compliance rate in a low stakes
request in the presence of the evoking freedom technique than in a high stakes
request in the presence of the evoking freedom technique, and a higher compliance
in a low stakes request in the absence of the evoking freedom technique than in a
high stakes request in the absence of the evoking freedom technique. If we had seen
these effects, it would have also meant that we support the idea that when one is
given the freedom to accept or refuse a request, he or she will be more likely to
comply even with a request that is costlier for that
Summary Of The Mower Against Garden
In The Mower Against Gardens, Andrew Marvell uses a conceit to liken the plants in
an English garden to the women of a brothel, exemplifying the theme of man s
perversion of nature. Three main metaphors are used, the first being mankind as the
brothel owner. The second metaphor is the flowers as prostitutes, and the final
metaphor is the flowersoffspring as abandoned children. Marvell begins the conceit
by introducing mankind as the instigator of corruption. Luxurious man, to bring his
vice in use, / Did after him the world seduce (1 2). The use of the word man, instead
of mankind, begins the characterization of the male, or the patriarchy as the owner of
the brothel, as well as the patrons that keep it in business. Additionally, the speaker
uses very charged, sexual language, such as vice and seduction to describe how
humans are enchanted by nature s beauty. At the time of writing, in 16th century
England, the act of a man visiting a brothel would have been considered a vice, or
something that generally considered sinful or negative. However, the act is
nonetheless accepted by society as something normal.
The speaker then introduces nature as a female entity, which coincides with the
perception of Mother Nature. as a female entity. And from the fields the flowers and
plants allure, / Where nature was most plain and pure (3 4). The words plain and pure
imply that nature, in its original, untouched state, has a sort of purity associated with
a virgin maiden. Before coming into contact with man, nature has a pristine and
naГЇve characteristic. However, that will change as soon after man establishes a
position of power over nature. Mankind traps nature within the gardens square (5),
and he begins to change the plants, presumably by grafting them together or
selectively breeding them to produce more desirable and colorful traits. This Garden
square, with its dead and standing pool of air (6). could be interpreted as the
cramped interior of the brothel where the women are forced to work, with four
walls trapping them on every side. Later in the poem, too, the garden is referred to
as a green seraglio (27). A seraglio is the women s apartment area of an Ottoman
palace. This was an

its growth has been increasing rapidly on many geographical boundaries and has been
established through information technology and Internet. In this paper I will analyze
how the music industry not only has been affected by Globalization as an economic
institution but also that it has become a worldwide globalized commodity. First, I
will begin by analyzing how the music industry, though its consumption is not a

The Impact Of The Rapid Growth Of South Korea
South Korea is a leading example of the world that has shown the world that how
fast can they grow? One of the poorest countries in 1960s has become one of the
most prosperous countries in the world. The development started in 1960s with the
high government spending on the development of infrastructures such as national
highways. The development was financed largely by the remittances send from the
Korean workers working in Middle East and in the West Germany. The GDP of Korea
in 1960 is equal to the GDP of Nepal in 2000. Moreover, the similarities between
these countries was Both the economies relied heavily on the remittances by the
working abroad. We discuss the reasons behind the rapid growth of South Koreaand
why Nepal is still struggling in the economic growth. At the beginning of 1960,
Korean economy exported only $32.83 million worth of goods while importing
goods of $343.53 million. The major portion of imports included the basic
commodities, which were very essential for the people s life, (Chol, 2009). In order

There has been slight improvement from the time frame 5 years but still remains very
low. Nepal is receiving huge amount of remittance from abroad but the government
still do not have any policies that can fetch the remittance and use it on the
development projects. It has been vital for Nepal to learn some lessons from South
Korea in harnessing the remittances and using them in the productive

a MS DRG is a system of classifying a Medicare patient s hospital stay into various

through Yale University s Schools of Management and Public Health1. The system
organizes potential human disease diagnoses into more than 20 body systems1, and

helps to classify the care that hospitals provide.1 The way this system works

A Brief Biography of Emily Carr
Born in Victoria, British Columbia in 1871, Emily Carr had a passion and natural
talent for art from a very young age. At the age of 8 she took a piece of charcoal
from the fire place, ripped open a paper sack and decided she would draw the
family dog, the piece impressed her father, it was later found in his belongings
signed by Emily age 8. Her father would become a big influence into her artistic
explorations. The youngest of 5 sisters, Carr was a favorite of her family, especially
her father. She would walk with him to and from work each day and assist him in
gardening at the family home. During this time she would take in the landscapes,
colours, lines and shapes that composed her surroundings.
Although constantly encouraged in her youth, Carr did not professionally pursue her
artistic talent until she was a teenager. Following the death of her parents and to
escape living under her sister s strict rules, Carr moved to California to attend the San
Francisco Art Institute. She returned to Victoria after two years of schooling and then
moved to London, England where she studied at the Westminister School of Art.
After returning back to British Columbia she lived in Vancouverand taught at the
Ladies Art Club, unfortunately due to her rude behaviour of smoking and cursing at
her students she became unpopular and her classes began to be boycotted by the
students, she only held the position for a month.

Social scientists have recorded wide differences in the pace of life in various
countries and in how societies view time whenever as an arrow piercing the future
or as a revolving wheel in which past, present, and future cycle endlessly (165).
This is how cultures can view time differently than other cultures. In result,
cultures can have a clear perspective of how time works and have an understanding
of how time is perceived. Estell says that the study of time and society can be
divided into the pragmatic and the cosmological Estell supports the statement by
stating a 1950s anthropologist, Edward T. Hall, JR. Hall wrote about the rules of
social time be apart a silent language for a culture. Hall says The rule might not
always be made explicit, but they exist in thin air... They are either familiar and
comfortable or unfamiliar and wrong (165). This states that different cultures will
have a better understanding of how time works than other people do in the world.
Hall describes how different perspectives of time can lead to misunderstanding
between cultures and people. An ambassador who has been kept waiting for more
than half an hour by foreign visitor needs to understand this if his visitor just mutters
an apology this is not necessarily an insult (165). This is the example of the different
time systems in foreign country.
Sexist Stereotypes In Stephen Doloff s The Opposite Sex
1)In Stephen Doloff s The Opposite Sex, he writes that in general, his female
students were eager to imagine being male for a day; whereas, his male students
were reluctant to imagine being female for a day. Doloff concludes that both genders
are burdened with sexist stereotypes and sexist self images, but what disturbs me
more is the idea that males not only do not want to be femalefor a day, but that they
can t even imagine what it is like to be a female. Are females so objectified in our
society that males can t conceptualize females as human beings, as just like
themselves?
R/ We live in a society where integrity, manners, and respect are either not well

Black Mold Essay
Stachybotrys Chartarum or more commonly known as Black Mold is by definition a
possibly toxic mold that can produce toxins called mycotoxins. Mycotoxins are
produced by specific strains of mold which when found in food can cause foodborne

within fungi but this is one of the deadlier mycotoxins versus other mycotoxins,
trichothecene. Despite the fact that many people do have moldallergies, this isn t an

Art became well known back in the pre historic era when cavemen painted pictures
on the walls. But became really popular during the Renaissances when painters and
sculptors took light. The Renaissances was a great time for art in Italy when land

Ancient Greek and Roman art. The origin of the Renaissancewas traced back to the

revive the language while artist wanted to revive the art. A Florentine artist named

The Pros And Cons Of Stereotypes
Photoshopping in the United States has a positive side and a negative side.
Unfortunately, the media and advertisements took photoshopping too far and
showed off its evil ways. Some companies have made their models look incredible,
which isn t ideal in the minds of the children viewing those particular photos.
Teenagers spend a majority of their time on their smart devices scrolling through
the popular news feeds on their favorite social media apps constantly being
reminded of extremely skinny models with perfectly clear skin. They dream of
looking the way all models do on the cover of a magazine, however they need to
realize how fake and unnatural everything they read or see can be. Some of the

According to a survey taken in 2001, which involved 13,601 undergraduates in
high school, teenagers who contemplate suicide the most are the ones who are
overweight, but teens who recognized themselves as either extremely fat or
extremely skinny were twice as likely to undertake or consider killing themselves
(Arak). The act of photoshopping something so small can lead someone down a
deep, dark path. The suicide rate has increased a tremendous amount over the past
few years, and the main reason why is from young females viewing themselves as
fat or overweight. These issues would not occur if the models in retail stores or
magazines were true to their size. If these juvenile children are becoming suicidal
from these reasons, the photoshopping industry should begin to create their models
to have those extra stretch marks and blemishes so they start to feel like it is alright
to look natural. A common argument against this is that the environment obviously
plays a role in the buildup of an eating disorder. Most females will develop an eating

Negative Effects Of Homework
Ever since I can remember I ve hated Homework. Almost every kid and even most
adults I know despise and resent it. Too much homework can cause stress, bad
behavior/attitude, sleep deprivation, lower self esteem, and poor social skills.
There are many statistics to back the argument that too much homework is
harmful. In 2013, research conducted at Stanford University found that students in
high achieving communities who spend too much time on homework experience
more stress, physical health problems, a lack of balance in their lives, and
alienation from society. Everyone knows homework is stressful, especially an
excessive amount in a short period of time. I remember many nights in grade
school and junior high where I d become overwhelmed with the amount of
homework I had, sometimes to the point of tears. The most stress I ve ever felt is
when I ve had an assignment due but I didn t have enough time to get it done, or I
had to skip out on events or sleep to accomplish the assignment on time. Sleep and
mood are closely connected. An inadequate amount of sleep can cause irritability
and stress. Homework doesn t only stress out the students it s assigned too, studies
show it also affects the parents of the students, especially parents who didn t receive
a college education. Children need help with all the math, language, and science
homework they get and parents don t always know all the answers. This can cause
parents to feel frustrated and stressed knowing they can t help
Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Christ Climbed Down,
AndSometime...
Lawrence Ferlinghetti is often regarded as one of the most influential American
poets of the 20th century, and his writing covers a wide range of social topics
regarding the status of American culture during the 1950s and 60s. Many of
Ferlinghetti s works focus on his vision of America and how that vision had not
come to fruition because of the less than ideal situations surrounding American
culture at the time. Consequently, Ferlinghetti was also an avid member of the Beat
generation and used his ability to write as a platform for spreading the message of
the Beatniks. As we have discussed in class, the Beatniks refer to the generation of
young people during the 1950s and 1960s that rode the wave of counterculture that

In his poem, Sometime During Eternity... , he criticizes the way Americans view Jesus
Christ and questions the dogma attached to traditional Christian beliefs.
Ferlinghetti discusses how the American people like to treat Jesus as if he is some
sort of high end celebrity, referring to him as hip and cat (15), names which are
usually associated with jazz musicians. However, despite the adoration the
American people use when talking about Jesus, Ferlinghetti states that we later ...
Stretch him on the Tree to cool/ And everybody after that/ is always making

This quote shows that the American people are often able to speak romantically of
Jesus and adore Him with their words, but come up short with their actions, as they
put Him on the Cross by denying their faith in Him. As we have discussed in class,
this is a reference to the biblical figure, Peter, who denied Jesus three times just
before the crucifixion of Jesus. Ferlinghetti is writing this piece to show that the
American people have turned into Peter, as we want ourselves and others to
believe that we are devout believers in Christ, but our faith crumbles and our
knowledge of Christ crumbles at the slightest provocation. Also, as we have
discussed in class, the poem is unorganized and does not seem to have a consistent
pattern or verse, as well as many references to jazz. This is because the poem is

Will Gun Control Reduce Gun Violence
Will Gun Control Reduce Gun Violence? For better understanding it is always
important to know the roots of an issue, gun ownership and gun control date back to
the colonial days; even further back to the British heritage. In 1689 the British
Parliament enacted the Bill of Rights, written in this document is the statement: That
the subjects in which are protestants may have arms for their defense suitable to
their conditions, and as allowed by the law . Part of the meaning this article was
given, was that not only the nobility and rich landlords could own firearms, making
the claim that Englishmen did not guarantee the right to possess weapons to
ordinary citizens. Although there is no actual evidence that this article served as a
sort of draft for the American second amendment, it is often referred to as the
foreigner version of it. Like the American Declaration of Independence, the British
Bill of Rights was unmistakably written to declare various illegal practices of James
II. Coming from this background, then continuing to the tyrannical acts in the
American colonies from Great Britain; like imposing unfair taxes and depriving
colonists of a fair trial by jury. The second amendment was mainly written to balance
the power between federal and state military necessities. These revisions initial
purpose was to be a political compromise between the state militias and an official
national army. The Founding Fathers also recognized the established mistrust from
the people
Prospect Theory And Expected Utility Theory
Essay
Introduction
Negotiations and decisions are act as key counterparts in every business. A clear
definition as well as the recognition of core elements surrounding the decision
making process is required to reach a suitable decision. These approaches purpose to
be achieved clear concerns before a final decision making. This paper will outline
prospect theory and discuss the differences between prospect theory and expected
utility theory. Following will be, as explanation of the biases and heuristics of the
investment decision making process.
Part 1.
Prospect theory is an important alternative descriptive theory for decision making
under unreliable situation (Kahneman and Tversky 1979), which includes real life
selection and psychological analysis between choices that involve risk. Prospect
theory, which efforts to explain individual make decisions between risky
replacements based on the value of potential gains and losses (Wakker 2010),
advanced from expected utility theory, which explains that investors want to
maximize expected utility of wealth when unclearly situations (Blavatskyy 2007).
According to Kahneman and Tversky (1992), more recent researches perceived
nonlinear preferences in choices that do not involve definite events in prospective
theory. The concept of framing effect refers description invariances (Kahneman and
Tversky 1992). To be specific, individual always makes the same decision in identical
choice conditions. Also, decision makers have tendency to
Le Morte D Arthur Lancelot Character Analysis
In chapter six of Le Morte d Arthur by Thomas Malory, the knightly characterization
of Lancelot begins. The perception of him made by others provides his direct noble
characterization. The text states, Sir Lancelot was foremost, and told the knightliest
tales, and sang the goodliest songs, of all the company (Malory pg. 97). This shows
that he was seen as the most knight like out of all the men and was thought of as the
best no matter what he was doing. Then in chapter 12, it presents, Fair sir , this
sword ought surely to be thine, for thou art the best knight in all the world (Malory
pg 276). King Arthurwas the one who spoke this which shows how high his
expectations are of him and the fact that he would encourage Lancelot to obtain this

The way he responds to the various actions of those around him gives more insight
into who he really is. In chapter 4, it states, Guinevere also ever looked on him with

Lancelot since he has to choose to stay on Arthur s side or betray him by taking his
queen. Then the text states, Sir Lancelot, will ye leave me thus at this high feast
(Malory pg 273). Since the queen herself said this, it seems to indicate a deeper
relationship with Lancelot and the reader can assume that he has betrayed Arthur by
entering a relationship with Guinevere in secret. These examples show how
Lancelot began to have less characteristics of a hero and would cause the reader to
look on him with more disdain while allowing a new event in the text to
Direct Cinema Essay
Direct Cinema
The term direct cinema was coined by American director Albert Maysles, to describe
the style of documentary that he and his contemporaries were making in the 1960s as
a result of a lightweight, portable 16mm camera and high quality lightweight audio
recorders becoming available. The introduction of these, together with film stock
which was sensitive enough to give a good quality close up monochrome picture
under most lighting conditions
(Including hand held lights) led to a revolution in Documentary filmmaking, allowing
film crews to be much more flexible. Gone were the days of bulky, virtually
immobile 35mm cameras; now manufacturers improved their 16mm stock and
accepted it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ideal subjects for documentaries according to the direct cinema ethos were:
1) A person who is interesting;
2) A person who is in an interesting situation which s/he cares deeply about;
3) A subject where a conclusion can be arrived at in a limited time; and
4) A subject where there is easy access to events.
The group believed that the cameraman, the director and the sound recordist were all
equal in status and were all film makers, playing a role in an integrated process. They
felt that the filmmaker s relationship with the subject was personal and one of
equality, and that an audience was active in its engagement with the film. Direct
cinema practitioners wished the audience to be presented with sufficient evidence to
enable them to make up their own minds and not be mere passive observers.
... the degree to which the camera changes the situation is mostly due to the nature of
the person filming it... Richard Leacock.
Direct cinema was conceived with TV in mind. In the 60s TV had poor picture
quality, the black and white image being frequently fuzzy with viewers reliant on
good quality sound. Image quality such as this fitted in perfectly with direct cinema s
stance on camera framing and editing; anything more complex than
Greatest Romance Film of All Time, Casablanca
Many denote Casablanca as one of the greatest romance films of all time, but there
is more beyond what is going on between the leading man and the leading lady.
When an individual ponders Casablanca, they may think of the romance aspect of
it, but that is only one facet of this film. Although it probably was not viewed as
such at the time, Casablanca is a historical record depicting the events of World
War II. This film not only shows events and situations that occurred, but shows
how people felt about those incidents. There are many characters from different
heritages in the film, and the actors portrayal of a certain type of person, whether
American or Bulgarian, can give an idea as to how Americans or Bulgarians felt in
real life at the time. Even though there is one American in the film, the viewer can
discern how Americans were perceived by others by the acting of that one
American; one is almost forced to assume that is what Americans are like since
there was just that one character. Through this film, one can tell if the people who
made it wanted to promote American involvement in the war; an individual can also
see a portrayal of Americans and their allies during the war; there is a depiction of
the nature of the war and the violence that ensued because of it; and cultural
components are shown. Rick is the only American in the film, and he is quite the all
American man. To some, he would probably be considered good looking, he s quite
successful with his business,

How Has The English Language Changed Over The Years
Think of things that morph over time. What comes to mind? People may think
about a music artist s change from YouTube videos recorded on iPhones to sold
out concerts. Or, they may think about the changes an athlete makes from
childhood to becoming a professional athlete. However, did you think about how
much a language changes over a couple of years? Every year words are added to
and taken from the dictionary. Words are formed and forgotten. Language changes
because of a person s vocabulary and location, but what happens to a language, like
the English language, that is spread across the whole world?
The English language belongs to the West Germanic branch of the Indo European
family of languages, according to M Boyanova. The Indo European family started in
Europe and South Asia, later spreading to other parts of the world. The West
Germanic branch of the Indo European language family includes the Afrikaans
(spoken in South Africa), Dutch (spoken in Holland), English (spoken in the United
Kingdom, United States, Australia, and Canada), German (spoken in Germany), and
Yiddish (spoken in Germany and Israel) languages (Thompson). Even though
Scottish belongs to the Celtic branch (Thompson), it is one of the English language
s closest living relative, along with Frisian. Frisian is located in the Dutch province
of Friesland, in nearby areas of Germany, and on a few islands in the North Sea. It is
only spoken by approximately half a million people (Boyanova).

Desertion And Absent Without Official Leave
Desertion is a very strong offense in the military and receives the highest of
punishment which is equivalent to espionage. Sergeant Bergdahl is possibly guilty
of desertion due to his actions. The rescue of Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl has been all
over the news as of recent. It has been a very hot topic of discussion. There is so
much chatter of him breaking laws of the uniform code of military justice(UCMJ)
pertaining to desertion and absent without official leave (AWOL) due to his
disappearance from his Afghanistan American forward operating base five years
ago. Investigations are currently being done internally by the United States
government to try and clarify if he is innocent of either crime. The facts will come
out eventually and it will allow us to draw our own final conclusion or opinion.
What exactly is desertion according to the general public and military? The general
public sees desertion probably from a general definition from the online Merriam
Webster dictionary. Merriam Webster dictionary states the definition as follows, The
abandonment without consent or legal justification of a person, post, or relationship
and the associated duties and obligations (Encyclopedia Britannica, Merriam Webster
Online Dictionary). According to the UCMJ Article 85, desertion is Without
authority, goes or remains absent from his unit, organization, or place of duty with
intent to remain away therefrom permanently (Air War College, USAF). If Sergeant
Bergdahl is found innocent
Analysis Of The Book Huckleberry Finn
Representation of Jim in Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
In the opening of Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Jim, an escaped slave
previously owned by Miss Watson, is a simple, kind, and generous man who is also
almost superstitious to a fault. However, Jim develops as a character throughout the
novel in a humble passage from slave to free man and Tom Sawyers savior. This
character transformation manifests itself throughout Jim and Huck s time together
in a search for freedom and a path back to Jim s family that he left behind. While on
the journey, Jim must run at night, hide during the day, and endure the loneliness of
his situation constantly while taking care of Huck; this determination and personal
strength despite oppression by white people make Jim one of the only respectable
adults in the novel. Through courageous and selfless acts, the initially simple Jim
demonstrates loyalty, love, strength, and wisdom to establish himself as a heroic
figure in the novel. Jim seems to have a superstition for any occasion one could
think of, but Jim is a product of his time and his beliefs provide answers to
phenomenon that people could not explain. As a first impression at Miss Watson s
house, Jim s superstitious ways come across as idiocy as he thinks that, witches
bewitched him and put him in a trance, and rode him all over the State, and then set
him under the trees again ; However, the superstitions ultimately gain depth and

Communication In Nursing
Wittenberg Lyles, Goldsmith, and Ragan (2011) point out that health literacy is
required in order to navigate medical care and contributes to the isolated journey.
Communication is vital to informing patients regarding complex issues of symptom
control, emotional support, and realistic goals. When there is an absence of PC and
thinking, patients and families are limited to talk about treatment and side effects,
focusing strictly on curative measures, and collaboration is limited (Wittenburg
Lyles, Goldsmith, Ragan, 2011). Parikh, Kirch, Smith, and Temel (2013) reported that
seventy percent of Americans admit they do not understand PC and most healthcare
professionals equate it to end of life care. This translates into practice since most...

them, however they realized this was unlikely. Another solution might be to limit
mortality rates to certain high risk procedures or illnesses, although this was
thought to be unlikely as well. Encouraging hospitals to utilize PC and V66.7 PC
coding appropriately and manually position the code in the top ten secondary
diagnoses, would allow capture of the code by CMS. Since all other entities obtain
information regarding mortality rates from CMS, the code would be captured.
Cassel et al. (2010) stated there is a need for better research to model the statistical

How Does Ebenezer Scrooge Change Throughout The Play
The play A Christmas Carol: Scrooge and Marley by Israel Horovitz takes place in
the Victorian era. In the play, the main character, Ebenezer Scrooge, changed in many
ways. Two ways Scrooge changed include him becoming to care about others and
enjoying Christmas. In the beginning of the play, he acted much different. Overall,
Ebenezer Scroogewent from a misanthrope to someone who now embraces Christmas
spirit and is generous. One of the two main ways Scrooge changed in the play is
that he became like the other people around him, and embraced Christmas spirit. He
did that by being kind to others and actually enjoying his time with them. For
example, in the play, Scrooge says, It s Christmas Day, is it? Whoop! (2.5.299). The

An example would be when he donated money to the Portly Man. In the text, it
states, If you please. Not a farthing less. A great many back payments are included
in it . . . (2.5.300). The author implies that Scrooge is donating a good amount of
money to the Portly Man, which he ll give to the poor. This is a huge change
because Scrooge used to have never donated like from act one scene one, where he
just yelled at him to get out. Finally, Scrooge also showed change when he gave
Adam extra money. While Adam and the poultry man with the turkey were just
getting back to Scrooge, Scrooge said, Good. There you go then . . . this is for the
turkey . . . and this is for the taxi. And this is for your world record run Adam. . .
(2.5.300). This clearly shows Scrooge s change because he is actually giving away
some of his money. Before he wouldn t even think of giving away anything of his,
nevermind something that precious to him. Both of these quotes show Scrooge s
caring because he s giving to them, so he s trying to help because, for the first time,
he felt empathy towards them. As you can see, Scrooge did go from selfish to
generous. Adding on to that, the main character has obviously changed a lot, in just

Hans Use Of Political And Social Themes
Hans Haacke has been characterized as among some of the most revolutionary and
controversial contemporary and conceptual artists of all time. Haacke s works are
generally simply constructed yet exquisitely permeated with depth and importance
through his integration of social, political, and environmental issues in his pieces that
give them a voice they would otherwise lack. In the following essay, we will seek to
understand just how Hans Haackes use of political and social themes causes his
work to resonate with audiences on the scale it has done. When gazing upon the
vast expanse of art history, it becomes evident that the greatest and most
influentially revolutionary individuals are not those that dabble in the popular and
well studied styles of old. Those who are great flee from average and explore
uncharted new territories. The individuals that choose to really set themselves apart
from the rest of art culture are those who branch out in totally new directions. Those
who delve into new ideas and new ways of expressing themselves through mediums
and styles few have trodden upon. Hans Haacke has cemented himself in history as
one of these influential and revolutionary individuals. His pioneering work of a
conceptual nature was unparalleled and unmatched by his competitors at its
conception. Hans Haacke was born August 12, 1936 in the little town of Cologne,
Germany. Before he started formal education, he was part of an global organization

The Issues Of The Midwifery And Obstetrics
In recent years, midwifery and obstetrics have become two of the most prominent
and primary ways of care for women of childbearing age in comparison to
unassisted births and other documented methods. Although midwifery is not as
prevalent as obstetrics, there is a rise in midwifery today. In the United States
women and their partners are faced with the choice of who should provide care
before, during and after pregnancy. As of today there has been a rise in how many
births are attended by nurse midwives than it was a quarter of a century ago but the
number of births attended by an obstetrician gynecologist (OBGYN) is still
significantly higher. Faced with either option, OBGYN or nurse midwife, women of
childbearing age are not adequately informed or are misinformed on their choices
when it comes to each specialty. This paper explores the issue of women being
thoroughly informed on their birth options and on which provider is necessary. This
paper also compares the two professions, midwifery and obstetricsin the realm of
pregnancy, pregnancy care and childbirth. This examination of professional practices
for pregnant women points out the limitations of each obstetrician gynecologists and
their attendance in low risk pregnancies and deliveries and suggests the need for
midwives more than ever.

Essay on Naval Aviation
Naval Aviation
Throughout the history of Naval Aviation, one can see a growing force. As new
technology and innovations arose and advanced, Naval Aviation improved as well.
In times of war and peace, through training and dedication, naval aviators improved
their abilities and tactics to produce the fighting force it is today. If by chance, the
revolt of the admirals had failed, the United States Military would not be what it is
today and the Navy could not have the liberty of enjoying the Mahanian concept of

New air stations opened, training programs began at the new Naval Air Stations,
colleges and universities, and with the private industry. Many types of aircraft were
produced and an aircraft engine was advanced from a trial product to mass
production and operation.
The flying boat, in 1919, was the first aircraft to fly the Atlantic Ocean. This aircraft
was Naval Aviation s outstanding technical product of World War I. Many aviators
were impressed with the flying boat and urged that it would be the means to take
airpower to sea. However, other officers believed and insisted that aircraft should fly
from combatant ships at sea.
During the 1920s, development grew in both the flying boat and the proposed
aircraft carrier. Finally, the aircraft carrier won many hearts of naval officers and
the Navy decided to convert a collier to a carrier. This conversion would be the
beginning of a movement that would gain the attention of ship builders, aircraft
designers, and naval tacticians for the years ahead (Grossnick, 23).
In the 1920s, Naval Aviation increased both in size and in strength. In this decade of
growth, air detachments proved themselves effective under the conditions at sea.
Three aircraft carriers were in full operation and patrol squadrons carried out their
scouting missions. Each year aircraft flew faster, higher, and longer due to the
The World s Understanding Of Human Rights
There are so many events that occurred in World War I and II that change the world
s understanding of human rights. I think the events that happened in the World
War II is what made the world understand what human rights is. The world war
started because of assassination of Archduke of Austria Hungary. Then the actual
war started because Austria Hungary declared war on Serbia. The first world war I
caused such a disaster such as failure of economic, failure of political and poverty.
The Second World War II was worse than the first one. I think after both of the
World Wars is when we realized how each human beings were beloved and we saw
how many people died and made rethink about why everyone deserved human rights.
Paris Peace Conference, the Bretton Conference and the Geneva Convention
definitely contribute to the international human rights. After the World War I was
over Paris Peace Conference happened in Paris only for the winners which were
Britain,France,Russia and USA. Of course the Germany and the lost allies were left
out of the Paris Peace Conference. The Triple Entente wanted to get revenge on the
Triple Alliances for starting the war. Germany obviously lost the land, pay for the
cost of the war and they were not allowed to build up military forces again. The hatred
towards the Germany was heavily built to people and the government. The main point
was that during the peace conference there was a commitment to minority rights. The

Fall Of Rome Dbq Essay
The Roman Empire began when Julius Caesar became one of the leaders to reign
and conquer Rome. Rome was commonly referred to as the eternal city. Rome had
a total of 19 emperors from 235 to 285 CE. Those 19 emperors might have caused
the fall of Rome to happen. The decline of Rome, or the fall of Rome, was due to
economic problems, Roman emperors, and natural disasters and disease.
One of the things that played a role in the decline of Rome, would be that there
were too many war outbreaks. The war outbreaks would eventually lead to
oppressive taxation, meaning that if there was too much war, more people would
be likely to leave. And most of the people who leave would be the rich people. As
stated in document B, the roman army was filled with negligence and laziness, and
often were beaten by the Goths since they didn t even wear a chest plate or a helmet.

To maintain constant low prices the products must be purchased in bulk and this can
harm the revenue. Many time products fail in the market and they can be stuck with
large amounts of product that will now move slow and take up space in their
distribution centers. Another often mentioned weakness is that they tend to keep
more part time employees than they do full time. The part time employees are paid
and low wage and are offered no incentives, this leads to large turnover rates.
Walmart has had many labor relations issues that include being sued by employees
for being gender biased. The company s top management is held by few women and
minorities. They have tried to rectify this problem, but females and minorities getting
promoted to manager positions remain issues for the company. The company does
not believe or want a labor union; this can give the perception that the company treats
employees poorly. The image this may cast can deter a person to apply for
employment. Opportunities The opportunities for the SWOT analysis of Walmart
end only where their resourcefulness ends. Walmart needs to focus on the future and
develop their insight. The people and other businesses need to know and understand
that they are not coming into their community to destroy the local businesses. The
American consumer is driven by cost and that is now starting to change. People in
America notice the bigger picture and Walmart needs to start endorsing optimistic
ideals.
Southern Mexican Culture Analysis
The evolution of culture in the Southern Mexican Highlands is largely based around
a feedback system that either keeps a resource mechanism in line or, through a
minor deviation, expands it due to continual reliance. Positive and negative feedback
pushed the society of the area to continually experiment with the resources available
and adapt to them depending on how the resource reacted. The early part of culture
in highland southern Mexico was regulated by negative feedback. This system was
characterized by procuring techniques that kept resources from being over exploited
which caused the culture to remain the same as well. For example, the century plant
only blooms once every few years and would then be harvested as it began to

Conservatism Ideology
i)Conservatism as an Ideology
Conservatism is an ideology that strongly values tradition and continues to utilise
the policies put in place by our ancestors before us. Because tradition is fundamental
to conservatives they are very susceptible to change their policies: change will only
be supported if it does no harm and if this can be clearly demonstrated (Young, 2015).
Conservatism itself is a pragmatic ideology with no real goals or purpose other than
to preserve the traditions put in by the generations previous to us.

for us: the conservative... does suppose we owe such a debt (Alexander, 2014).
Human nature from both socialism and conservatism can relate to the quote.
Socialism reflects back on previous points in time so they can interpret and

them; they introduce and incorporate the traditions and political ideas into modern

with such technologies have decreased while the benefits increased. New cutting
edge technologies are always priced at a premium when they are introduced into the
market. As competitors enter the market the cost of the technology gradually declines
and demand rises following the law of demand.
In this project one of the major questions that must be answered is whether the value
of low cost distance education programs, supported by new and innovative
telecommunication technologies, is greater than the value of traditional educational
programs costing much more. The researcher proposes that the explosive growth in
student enrollment in on line programs answer this question affirmatively. The
researcher will use quantitative analysis to support the null hypothesis identified in
the document.
Within the context of this quasi experimental study the researcher has carefully
investigated the role advancements in telecommunications technologies have played
in the establishment and growth of virtual universities in the U.S., the impact
telecommunications technologies have had on Title IV, Post Secondary 2yr and 4yr
degree granting colleges and universities, how the explosive growth in on line student

Influenza Vaccine
Influenza is one of the major causes for illness around the globe and vaccination is
the best way for controlling it. The licensed inactivated influenza vaccine includes
antigenic components from the three influenza strains which are chosen annually to
match globally circulating strains of influenza viruses.
The aim under this objective was to evaluate the humoral immune response to
inactivated influenza vaccine (IIV) in adults who were administered seasonal IIV for
2012 2013. The study was able to identify significant differences in the antibody titers
as B cell responses between different groups after IIV immunization where one group
receives IIV and other was given no intervention.
The routine monitoring of the immune responses usually

Chapter 5 Please make sure you reflect on question No. 2,4,7 8
2. An example of structural violence I witnessed was institutionalized racism was
while I was studying in South Korea and saw that the Chinese students were treated
more poorly than the others. The teachers treated them more strictly and harshly
compared to students coming from English speaking countries. Institutional racism is
still common in the United States, but subtle and less visible. It deprives certain
minority groups within a society to have equal access or opportunities available to
others.
4. I am a student trying to take any opportunity available to improve my growth as a
person. Who I want to be is a successful person that my parents could be proud of and

Almost everyday I would see articles regarding the movement and would see the
support for it to be growing more and more. It is great that this issue is being
addressed instead of letting it be in the dark. This movement is changing things in
society such as making standards for police and requiring them to wear body cameras.
4. I would excerise my critizen power in matters that matter to me by building and
improving the communities to which we belong to. When there is a social problem
that needs to be addressed, then it is the duties of us as members of society to take
action together when appropriate. Active involvement in the community is key when
dealing with improving society. If there was something that I felt needed to be fixed,
I would find like minded individuals and to let our city officials know that we are

  • 2. Internship Statement For Internship This summer I was very fortunate to be given the opportunity to participate in a research and development internship at the world s largest snack company, MondelД“z International, which is known for its iconic brands such as Oreo, Sour Patch Kids, Triscuit, Trident, Swedish Fish, Cadbury, and many more. The headquarters for this international giant is located in Chicago, Illinois; however, I was employed in the research and development center positioned in East Hanover, New Jersey. Completing my second year at Penn State last May fully aware that I would be moving to New Jersey from my small hometown around Erie, PA, I was under the perception that I had an idea of what the summer would hold for me. However, this was an overstatement, for what I experienced in the time between May and August truly altered my viewpoint on education, business, and food science. Accepting the offer to participate in an internshipwith MondelД“z International last fall, I understood that the experiencewould be very enriching, for this was what my professors and older students conveyed. I set goals such as attempting to act as a sponge, extracting every single experience/knowledge that I could from professionals in the industry, networking with other food science students participating in the internship as well as the mentors that would be leading me through the project, exposing myself to a different lifestyle as a salary employee and resident of uniquely cultured New Jersey, and many others.

Cavell April 30, 2017 In 1789 the United States Constitution was developed by the founding fathers. This document was developed to give a basis for governing people and providing rules to follow. As the world becomes a so called melting pot, of cultures, religions and influx of immigrants, it is important to have a guideline of how to govern and resolve disputes. Because of the diversity and ever changing society in which we reside it is necessary to have a common set of rules and rights of how we live with one another to provide some civility among diversity and beliefs. The test questions come from the United States Constitution and other United States History (https://my.uscis.gov/prep/test/civics, April 22, 2017). • 4. Evoking Freedom Study The Effects of Evoking Freedom Technique on Compliance Social influence and the power of social situations have always been central topics of inquiry for psychologists due to their impact on our everyday lives. Social influence refers to the ways in which people alter their attitudes, emotions, and behaviors of others. Every day, we encounter countless attempts by other people to influence us. Likewise, we try to influence others. Compliance is a kind of social influence in which an individual modifies his or her behavior in response to an appeal made by another person. Many studies have investigated effective means of increasing compliance rates. Gueguen, Silone, David, and Pascual (2015) were interested in exploring the effects of the ... Also, if the cost of the request plays an important role as predicted in determining the compliance rate, we should see a higher compliance rate in a low stakes request in the presence of the evoking freedom technique than in a high stakes request in the presence of the evoking freedom technique, and a higher compliance in a low stakes request in the absence of the evoking freedom technique than in a high stakes request in the absence of the evoking freedom technique. If we had seen these effects, it would have also meant that we support the idea that when one is given the freedom to accept or refuse a request, he or she will be more likely to comply even with a request that is costlier for that
  • 5. Summary Of The Mower Against Garden In The Mower Against Gardens, Andrew Marvell uses a conceit to liken the plants in an English garden to the women of a brothel, exemplifying the theme of man s perversion of nature. Three main metaphors are used, the first being mankind as the brothel owner. The second metaphor is the flowers as prostitutes, and the final metaphor is the flowersoffspring as abandoned children. Marvell begins the conceit by introducing mankind as the instigator of corruption. Luxurious man, to bring his vice in use, / Did after him the world seduce (1 2). The use of the word man, instead of mankind, begins the characterization of the male, or the patriarchy as the owner of the brothel, as well as the patrons that keep it in business. Additionally, the speaker uses very charged, sexual language, such as vice and seduction to describe how humans are enchanted by nature s beauty. At the time of writing, in 16th century England, the act of a man visiting a brothel would have been considered a vice, or something that generally considered sinful or negative. However, the act is nonetheless accepted by society as something normal. The speaker then introduces nature as a female entity, which coincides with the perception of Mother Nature. as a female entity. And from the fields the flowers and plants allure, / Where nature was most plain and pure (3 4). The words plain and pure imply that nature, in its original, untouched state, has a sort of purity associated with a virgin maiden. Before coming into contact with man, nature has a pristine and naГЇve characteristic. However, that will change as soon after man establishes a position of power over nature. Mankind traps nature within the gardens square (5), and he begins to change the plants, presumably by grafting them together or selectively breeding them to produce more desirable and colorful traits. This Garden square, with its dead and standing pool of air (6). could be interpreted as the cramped interior of the brothel where the women are forced to work, with four walls trapping them on every side. One of the poorest countries in 1960s has become one of the most prosperous countries in the world. The development started in 1960s with the high government spending on the development of infrastructures such as national highways. The development was financed largely by the remittances send from the Korean workers working in Middle East and in the West Germany. The GDP of Korea in 1960 is equal to the GDP of Nepal in 2000. At the age of 8 she took a piece of charcoal from the fire place, ripped open a paper sack and decided she would draw the family dog, the piece impressed her father, it was later found in his belongings signed by Emily age 8. Her father would become a big influence into her artistic explorations. The youngest of 5 sisters, Carr was a favorite of her family, especially her father. She would walk with him to and from work each day and assist him in gardening at the family home. During this time she would take in the landscapes, colours, lines and shapes that composed her surroundings. Although constantly encouraged in her youth, Carr did not professionally pursue her artistic talent until she was a teenager. Following the death of her parents and to escape living under her sister s strict rules, Carr moved to California to attend the San Francisco Art Institute. She returned to Victoria after two years of schooling and then moved to London, England where she studied at the Westminister School of Art. After returning back to British Columbia she lived in Vancouverand taught at the Ladies Art Club, unfortunately due to her rude behaviour of smoking and cursing at her students she became unpopular and her classes began to be boycotted by the students, she only held the position for a month. The act of photoshopping something so small can lead someone down a deep, dark path. The suicide rate has increased a tremendous amount over the past few years, and the main reason why is from young females viewing themselves as fat or overweight. These issues would not occur if the models in retail stores or magazines were true to their size. Too much homework can cause stress, bad behavior/attitude, sleep deprivation, lower self esteem, and poor social skills. There are many statistics to back the argument that too much homework is harmful. In 2013, research conducted at Stanford University found that students in high achieving communities who spend too much time on homework experience more stress, physical health problems, a lack of balance in their lives, and alienation from society. Everyone knows homework is stressful, especially an excessive amount in a short period of time. I remember many nights in grade school and junior high where I d become overwhelmed with the amount of homework I had, sometimes to the point of tears. The most stress I ve ever felt is when I ve had an assignment due but I didn t have enough time to get it done, or I had to skip out on events or sleep to accomplish the assignment on time. Many of Ferlinghetti s works focus on his vision of America and how that vision had not come to fruition because of the less than ideal situations surrounding American culture at the time. As we have discussed in class, this is a reference to the biblical figure, Peter, who denied Jesus three times just before the crucifixion of Jesus. • 18. Will Gun Control Reduce Gun Violence Will Gun Control Reduce Gun Violence? For better understanding it is always important to know the roots of an issue, gun ownership and gun control date back to the colonial days; even further back to the British heritage. In 1689 the British Parliament enacted the Bill of Rights, written in this document is the statement: That the subjects in which are protestants may have arms for their defense suitable to their conditions, and as allowed by the law . Part of the meaning this article was given, was that not only the nobility and rich landlords could own firearms, making the claim that Englishmen did not guarantee the right to possess weapons to ordinary citizens. Although there is no actual evidence that this article served as a sort of draft for the American second amendment, it is often referred to as the foreigner version of it. Like the American Declaration of Independence, the British Bill of Rights was unmistakably written to declare various illegal practices of James II. Coming from this background, then continuing to the tyrannical acts in the American colonies from Great Britain; like imposing unfair taxes and depriving colonists of a fair trial by jury. The perception of him made by others provides his direct noble characterization. The text states, Sir Lancelot was foremost, and told the knightliest tales, and sang the goodliest songs, of all the company (Malory pg. 97). This shows that he was seen as the most knight like out of all the men and was thought of as the best no matter what he was doing. Then in chapter 12, it presents, Fair sir , this sword ought surely to be thine, for thou art the best knight in all the world (Malory pg 276). King Arthurwas the one who spoke this which shows how high his expectations are of him and the fact that he would encourage Lancelot to obtain this strange sword while he is near proves that he is very trusting of him. These characteristics add up to make Lancelot appear to be the most heroic of them all even though he is not the main hero of the text and this can make the reader be a little distrusting of such a perfect character.... Then the text states, Sir Lancelot, will ye leave me thus at this high feast (Malory pg 273). Since the queen herself said this, it seems to indicate a deeper relationship with Lancelot and the reader can assume that he has betrayed Arthur by entering a relationship with Guinevere in secret. These examples show how Lancelot began to have less characteristics of a hero and would cause the reader to look on him with more disdain while allowing a new event in the text to

The introduction of these, together with film stock which was sensitive enough to give a good quality close up monochrome picture under most lighting conditions (Including hand held lights) led to a revolution in Documentary filmmaking, allowing film crews to be much more flexible. Encouraging hospitals to utilize PC and V66.7 PC coding appropriately and manually position the code in the top ten secondary diagnoses, would allow capture of the code by CMS. Since all other entities obtain information regarding mortality rates from CMS, the code would be captured. Cassel et al. • 28. How Does Ebenezer Scrooge Change Throughout The Play The play A Christmas Carol: Scrooge and Marley by Israel Horovitz takes place in the Victorian era. In the play, the main character, Ebenezer Scrooge, changed in many ways. Two ways Scrooge changed include him becoming to care about others and enjoying Christmas. In the beginning of the play, he acted much different. Overall, Ebenezer Scroogewent from a misanthrope to someone who now embraces Christmas spirit and is generous. One of the two main ways Scrooge changed in the play is that he became like the other people around him, and embraced Christmas spirit. He did that by being kind to others and actually enjoying his time with them. For example, in the play, Scrooge says, It s Christmas Day, is it? Whoop! (2.5.299). The character s... A great many back payments are included in it . . . (2.5.300). The author implies that Scrooge is donating a good amount of money to the Portly Man, which he ll give to the poor. This is a huge change because Scrooge used to have never donated like from act one scene one, where he just yelled at him to get out. Finally, Scrooge also showed change when he gave Adam extra money. While Adam and the poultry man with the turkey were just getting back to Scrooge, Scrooge said, Good. There you go then . . . this is for the turkey . . . and this is for the taxi. And this is for your world record run Adam. . . (2.5.300). This clearly shows Scrooge s change because he is actually giving away some of his money. Before he wouldn t even think of giving away anything of his, nevermind something that precious to him. Both of these quotes show Scrooge s caring because he s giving to them, so he s trying to help because, for the first time, he felt empathy towards them. As you can see, Scrooge did go from selfish to generous. Adding on to that, the main character has obviously changed a lot, in just one

Haacke s works are generally simply constructed yet exquisitely permeated with depth and importance through his integration of social, political, and environmental issues in his pieces that give them a voice they would otherwise lack. In the following essay, we will seek to understand just how Hans Haackes use of political and social themes causes his work to resonate with audiences on the scale it has done. When gazing upon the vast expanse of art history, it becomes evident that the greatest and most influentially revolutionary individuals are not those that dabble in the popular and well studied styles of old. Those who are great flee from average and explore uncharted new territories. The individuals that choose to really set themselves apart from the rest of art culture are those who branch out in totally new directions. Those who delve into new ideas and new ways of expressing themselves through mediums and styles few have trodden upon. Hans Haacke has cemented himself in history as one of these influential and revolutionary individuals. His pioneering work of a conceptual nature was unparalleled and unmatched by his competitors at its conception. Hans Haacke was born August 12, 1936 in the little town of Cologne, Germany. Before he started formal education, he was part of an global organization known as Zero. Zero was a

The Issues Of The Midwifery And Obstetrics In recent years, midwifery and obstetrics have become two of the most prominent and primary ways of care for women of childbearing age in comparison to unassisted births and other documented methods. Although midwifery is not as prevalent as obstetrics, there is a rise in midwifery today. In the United States women and their partners are faced with the choice of who should provide care before, during and after pregnancy. As of today there has been a rise in how many births are attended by nurse midwives than it was a quarter of a century ago but the number of births attended by an obstetrician gynecologist (OBGYN) is still significantly higher. Faced with either option, OBGYN or nurse midwife, women of childbearing age are not adequately informed or are misinformed on their choices when it comes to each specialty. This paper explores the issue of women being thoroughly informed on their birth options and on which provider is necessary. This paper also compares the two professions, midwifery and obstetricsin the realm of pregnancy, pregnancy care and childbirth. This examination of professional practices for pregnant women points out the limitations of each obstetrician gynecologists and their attendance in low risk pregnancies and deliveries and suggests the need for midwives more than ever. Choices: Midwifery Today What is choice? Is it making an informed decision based on facts or is it deciding between opposing factors based on pure emotion? Perhaps it is just

The flying boat, in 1919, was the first aircraft to fly the Atlantic Ocean. This aircraft was Naval Aviation s outstanding technical product of World War I. Many aviators were impressed with the flying boat and urged that it would be the means to take airpower to sea. However, other officers believed and insisted that aircraft should fly from combatant ships at sea. During the 1920s, development grew in both the flying boat and the proposed aircraft carrier. Finally, the aircraft carrier won many hearts of naval officers and the Navy decided to convert a collier to a carrier. This conversion would be the beginning of a movement that would gain the attention of ship builders, aircraft designers, and naval tacticians for the years ahead (Grossnick, 23). In the 1920s, Naval Aviation increased both in size and in strength. In this decade of growth, air detachments proved themselves effective under the conditions at sea. Three aircraft carriers were in full operation and patrol squadrons carried out their scouting missions. Each year aircraft flew faster, higher, and longer due to the

I think the events that happened in the World War II is what made the world understand what human rights is. The world war started because of assassination of Archduke of Austria Hungary. Then the actual war started because Austria Hungary declared war on Serbia. The first world war I caused such a disaster such as failure of economic, failure of political and poverty. The Second World War II was worse than the first one. I think after both of the World Wars is when we realized how each human beings were beloved and we saw how many people died and made rethink about why everyone deserved human rights. Paris Peace Conference, the Bretton Conference and the Geneva Convention definitely contribute to the international human rights. After the World War I was over Paris Peace Conference happened in Paris only for the winners which were Britain,France,Russia and USA. Of course the Germany and the lost allies were left out of the Paris Peace Conference. The Triple Entente wanted to get revenge on the Triple Alliances for starting the war. Germany obviously lost the land, pay for the cost of the war and they were not allowed to build up military forces again. The hatred towards the Germany was heavily built to people and the government. The main point was that during the peace conference there was a commitment to minority rights. Rome had a total of 19 emperors from 235 to 285 CE. Those 19 emperors might have caused the fall of Rome to happen. The decline of Rome, or the fall of Rome, was due to economic problems, Roman emperors, and natural disasters and disease. One of the things that played a role in the decline of Rome, would be that there were too many war outbreaks. The war outbreaks would eventually lead to oppressive taxation, meaning that if there was too much war, more people would be likely to leave. And most of the people who leave would be the rich people. Many time products fail in the market and they can be stuck with large amounts of product that will now move slow and take up space in their distribution centers. Another often mentioned weakness is that they tend to keep more part time employees than they do full time. The part time employees are paid and low wage and are offered no incentives, this leads to large turnover rates. Walmart has had many labor relations issues that include being sued by employees for being gender biased. The company s top management is held by few women and minorities. They have tried to rectify this problem, but females and minorities getting promoted to manager positions remain issues for the company. The company does not believe or want a labor union; this can give the perception that the company treats employees poorly. The image this may cast can deter a person to apply for employment. The American consumer is driven by cost and that is now starting to change. People in America notice the bigger picture and Walmart needs to start endorsing optimistic ideals.
