1. Food Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of food is both tantalizing and challenging. At first glance, one
might assume it's a simple task, given the ubiquity of food in our lives. However, delving deeper
reveals the complexity inherent in this seemingly straightforward subject.
Firstly, food is not just about sustenance; it embodies culture, history, and identity. Exploring
these facets requires extensive research to accurately portray the significance of various cuisines,
ingredients, and culinary practices across different societies and time periods.
Additionally, addressing the multifaceted issues surrounding food, such as sustainability,
nutrition, and food security, demands a nuanced understanding of economics, environmental
science, and public health. Balancing these diverse perspectives while maintaining coherence and
depth in the essay can be daunting.
Furthermore, the emotional and sensory experiences associated with food add another layer of
intricacy. Describing flavors, textures, and aromas in a way that resonates with readers requires
not only vivid language but also a keen awareness of sensory perception and its subjective nature.
Moreover, navigating the vast landscape of food-related topics—from the history of agriculture
to the globalization of food production—requires careful selection and organization of
information to ensure clarity and relevance.
In essence, composing an essay on this topic necessitates not only a passion for food but also a
comprehensive understanding of its various dimensions and implications. It demands meticulous
research, thoughtful analysis, and adept storytelling to convey the richness and complexity
inherent in our relationship with food.

2. The Role Of Ownership In The Call Of The Wild, By Jack
London
Over the course of The Call of the Wild written by Jack London, Buck s several
owners help shape the dog that he turns out to be. Although the owners are only
mentioned for a short period of time each (excluding Thornton), each of them made a
huge and immediate impact on the story and Buck himself. There were five main
owners who contributed to Buck s evolution, including the Judge, the man in the red
sweater, Perrault and Francois, the trio (Mercedes, Hal, and Charles), and of course
John Thornton. Overall, these five people had a profound influence on Buck and his
new way of life. Buck s owners frequently change, yet their differences shape the two
personalities that he ended up being having: the feisty, wild, and hunting dogand the

He saved Buck from being beaten to death by Hal and then becomes Buck s master.
Later on, Buck ends up saving Thornton from drowning in a river, therefore
Thornton s action was reciprocated. This is representative of their classic man dog
relationship, where both the dog and its owner care and love each other very much.
This is something that hasn t been seen in the book since Buck was living with Judge
Miller. London articulates Thornton and Buck s first meeting with a simple, but
interesting two paragraphs: John Thornton and Buck looked at each other. You poor
devil, said John Thornton, and Buck licked his hand (44). This shows how Buck and
Thornton loved each other upon meeting each other. But, the biggest impact
Thornton has on Buck is that he shows the soft, compassionate, and cuddly side of
Buck. This is because of the classic man dog relationship; which Buck has never truly
had. The man dog relationship exemplifies the loving nature of Buck, while other
owners have showed the fierce and savage side to Buck. The main theme of the book
is Buck s evolution from the house pet to the hunter gatherer and John Thornton
loving Buck so much, with that being reciprocated, contributed so much to the theme
of the
3. The Characteristics And Contributory Cause Of Truck
Crashes
Primarily, trucks have a very crucial role to play as far as transportation is
concerned. They move cargo from one place to the other throughout the United
States. As per research, it is believed that approximately one ninth of traffic fatalities
in the United States have either directly or indirectly involved large trucks. The
research further claims that 3% of all accidents results from large trucks. The later has
been facilitated by increasing numbers of trucks that are registered annually. This
study will talk about the characteristics and contributory causes of truckcrashes. To
facilitate this, the paper will examine data from the Fatal Crash department through
its website. There are some factors that contribute directly to truck crashes. Some of
the factors include the use of cellular phone while driving, disobeying traffic rules
and lack of warning signs along the roads. These factors can be addressed through
sensitizing truck drivers on the importance of safe driving.
Introduction
The United States has over the years experienced a lot of fatalities on the roads.
Surprisingly, most of the fatalities have been caused by trucks. Even so, large trucks
have contributed a lesser percentage of fatalities when compared to other vehicles.
Unfortunately, in terms of severity, fatalities caused by these trucks are alarming.
Sometimes, large trucks might be as heavy as ten thousand pounds. This
characteristic makes it so difficult for the driver to control the vehicle
4. Wake Up !-Personal Narrative
Soon after, Constantine left with Oliver, leaving Team Flash the time alone they
needed, promising to be a call away for anything. Once the speedster was back with
his speedster suit on, mask off, everyone ended in the cortex, closely watching the
monitors to follow his vitals and the cell feed, waiting for Barry to finally join
them again. How were them even gonna break the news of what they just did? The
young man already hated them enough without adding that. Let me talk to him,
when he ll wake up. Said Joe to the team, needing to be by Barry s side. Nobody
was exactly lining up to go down there again after what they just did, they sure weren

stand and do nothing once Barry s pain will really kick it. I m still here? Look like
everything you tried failed, just as I predicted. Thanks for the nap, anyway. The
speedster coldly said. What do you want, old man? Pretty sure I already stated I
never cared about you. Even if Joe knew it wasn t really Barry talking, hearing the
boy s voice say this statement was piercing like a knife to the detective s heart, but
he somehow found the strength to keep his neutral face. I don t care what you ll
say, you re not feeling like yourself Barry, I know you, I raised you. Barry snorted
as an answer. Really? Guess you re not as smart as I thought you were. Well, not that
I ever really thought you were.
5. To Build A Fire Compare And Contrast Essay
The contrasts between young and old are very definitive. The contrast between the
two shows itself very prominently in To Build a Fire. Even though the old man at
Sulfur Creek tells the man not to go out alone, the man abandons the advice and
ventures out alone with his dog into the Yukon. The old man was right, the younger
man should have listened instead of being arrogant. He should have gone with
someone and kept himself safe. Even though it may not seem like it, the entire story
revolves around the man s decision to travel alone into the Yukonand simply discard
the old man s advice.

decision, the decision he made would cost him his life in the end. I think ... Show

The only way I wouldn t have done the same is if the weather had varied and
looked worse than it normally did. I think a few things that played a part in the
man s decision to go alone were, he is younger and stronger than the old man and
he is arrogant and thinks he is smarter. Another reason might be because they are
always in the weather and it never really varies, so as a result the man might think
that the weather is harmless to him. I think the reason I would do the same thing
as the younger man is because I have defied my elders advice in the past. I think
that many of the youth, including myself think that they know better than their
parents or any elders. For instance, just a couple years ago my dad and I were
spending the weekend with my aunt. She lives on a farm and my uncle and I were
riding ATV s, while earlier she had told me to slow down. Of course because I
thought I was fine and had it under control, I discarded her advice. After about
twenty minutes of riding around I had torn into a pasture and through an electric
fence, simply because I didn t listen to her. I regret not listening to her because I
ended up with some pretty nasty bruises and causes a couple hundred dollars worth
of damage. My experience in not listening to the wiser, older people was a mere
comparison to the younger man in the story, whereas he lost his life.

6. Animal Slaughtering Is The Killing Of Animals
Animal slaughtering is the killing of animals; most of them domestic, and mainly for
the purpose of human consumption. Many different types of animal slaughtering
methods have been created such as; carbon dioxide, inert gas hypoxia, captive bolt
pistol, gunshot, exsanguination, and many other that are not regulated. Such varying
methods have evolved since the beginning of times, but with the increasing rates of
the human population a faster way of slaughtering needed to be created in order to
keep up. The question here is, have we, in our attempt to provide for the many,
forgotten about ethical ways to kill those that are gifting us with their life?
The problem we need to understand here is that many of these regulated methods are
not ethical and cause suffering to the dying animal. Whether it causes them pain and
distress even at low concentrations due to the carbon dioxide, broken bones due to
shackling, massive damage to the skull and a shockwave which stuns the brain due to
captive bolt pistol, or a slow and painful death if their sticking wound is inaccurately
placed this methods need to be either reevaluated or vanished. It is not fair for
animals to suffer and undergo horrible deaths just to satiate our hunger. When did
we start forgetting how to take care of that that give us life? When did we start
killing without mercy for the sake of our people? When did we forget to care for the
minority in order to benefit the majority?

dramatically and the behaviour of the other Lynx in the enclosure also changed to

animals it can be hard to determine when a birth will occur. When the Serval baby
arrived, the female did not show until the day before birthing. It was also noted that
when the female pig was pregnant, she began to show almost three weeks before she
gave birth to the piglets. It was also learnt BIAZA does not count a birth until the
animal passes its first month.

12. Parathion In Silent Spring
In the mid 20th century, farmers used parathion, a toxic insecticide, in an attempt to
control pests detrimental to their crops. Rachel Carson was a biologist who wrote
pamphlets (Lear) on conservation and natural resources designed to inform people
on the beauty of the living world. In an excerpt from her 1962 work Silent Spring,
Carson calls upon the public to take action against the use of parathion by
highlighting its catastrophic nature and vilifying the agricultural community for their
negligence. Carson emphasizes the hazards of parathion by exposing its fatal
consequences, by invoking a need for its prevention. For example, Carson claims
that the issue of blackbirds eating nearby cornfields could have been more
benevolently solved, but farmers resorted to sending airplanes on a mission of death.
Carson uses warlike imagery through the farmers intention for the planes to be used
to spread parathion against the birds instead of for transportation..Her dramatic
phrasing for the operation depicts danger more seriously than if she had used less
stirring language such as to spread the poison, bringing public attention to the
graveness of the situation and therefore the need to act. Moreover, Carson goes on to
state that parathion is not a specific for blackbirds, but a universal killer, implying
that the poison is a threat to almost everything including humans. By providing a
detail in the issue that relates to humans directly, she gives even those indifferent

With only a few men left, they took the chance to continue their journey on foot,

was resting, Hugh Glass wandered around the forest with his gun. He spotted a

son, Hawk saw Fitzgerald and tried to stop him. Fitzgerald ended up stabbing Hawk
in front of Glass. The next day, Glass found himself lying on the ground and saw his
son lifeless. The rising action started the moment Glass woke up after spending the
night beside his dead son. Despite the fact that he was feeble, Glass was
determined to proceed by crawling. Man vs Self, is another major conflict in the
movie. Glass knew that he was going to have a hard time with his body. Yet, his

14. Plant Pollination In Plants
Every biotic and abiotic factor has a reason to coexist with the world. We can only
live through balance. When we are missing a factor it throws our system out of
place. There is no exception with how plants reproduce. Like the food chain,
pollination happens in a cycle, but instead of what eats what. It s more of the steps
on how a plant sends off its seeds. Plants go through a process of fertilization to
produce seedlings. Most plants can not fertilize on their own. Plants can t just stand
up and walk to find a suitable mate like us humans. This does not mean that plants
are not able to reproduce. They have a special way to get their pollenonto their own or
other plant s pistils. Plants trade with pollinators. Pollinators are anything that
transfers pollen to pistols. For example, bees are the most common but they are not
the only pollinators. Bats are pollinators, so are humans, even the wind is considered
a pollinator. Pollinators can be a living thing or and natural occurrence. Plants have
two major parts of their anatomy structure for reproducing. The anther, which is the
male part that contains the pollen. And the pistils, the female part of the flower. The
goal is to get the pollen from the anthers to the pistol. Pollinators have tasked this
job. Pollinators visit plants for their own purposes, to collect nectar, which is a
sugary substance that can be used as food or to make honey, oil, or just to hang out.
When a pollinator visits a

16. Modern Day Olympics Dbq
There are quite a few factors that shaped the modern day Olympics from 1892 to
2002. Pierre de Coubertin states that he wanted to create the Olympics to spread
world peace. He does this by substituting war for friendly sports competitions (doc
1). Of course, there were some bumps in the road while trying to achieve this utopia.
Some factors that have changed the Olympics are the allowing of women being able
to compete in the Olympics, women s suffrage, nationalism, wars, and economic
conditions (doc 2 7). Women have gone through a lot during this time frame: women
s suffrage, feminism, and more. Despite these instances, women s rights have
increased from 1908 to 1992. In 1908, 2% of the competitors were women (doc 2).

Japan was undergoing a mini depression in the economic department. This was due
to the aftershock of World War 2. The Japanese mayor, Ryotaro Azuma, knew they
were going through an economic depression, so he wanted the Olympics to be held
in Japan. Furthermore, the Olympics were later held in Japan in 1972. Afterward,
Azuma was greatly satisfied and content with the outcome. Japan was, again, part of
the worldwide trade and the economy flourished. He believes that the companies,
that deal with the Olympics, have saved him (doc 4). This also relates to the fees
paid by the United States to air the Olympics on TV and radio broadcasts. In 1996,
the Olympics were held in Atlanta and the money spent on the social media
increased by about 135% from 1988 (doc 7). It can be inferred that the Olympics
can revive nations; therefore, the United States agreed to pay more money since the
Olympics were held in Atlanta, Georgia. The spending of money was being carried
over to the 2000 Olympics, as well. Throughout this journey, many factors had an
impact on the Olympics. Some of the factors that changed the modern day Olympics
are women competitors, women s suffrage, nationalism, wars, and economic
conditions. An increase of women s rights was given, pride for the nations was
shown, wars still occurred, and economies have flourished. The longer the Olympic
Games have aged, the closer the world s state is to Pierre s

Another minority group that progressed during the WWII period was the African
American society. High demands of WWII offered more civil rights to the group,
yet, they were excluded from the social and political system due to the backlash of
white Americans. Hence, African Americans decided to fight for their equality and
civil rights, which came to be known as the African American Civil Rights
Movement (1950 1970). The protest for equality involved methods such as filing

20. Censorship Controversy South Park
South park censorship controversy

South Park have always received mixed
response from it s audiences. Famous for the use of foul language, dark humour
which satirizes a wide range of topics (such as politics, racism, gender equality e.t.c.)
and portrayal of religion for comic effect, the show generated countless debates and
controversy over the course of it s run. The debate over censorshipof some episodes,
and the show as a whole continues nowadays, and both sides seem to have truth
behind their words. Pro censorship group states that South Parkis harmful for young
minds, that religion is not the right thing to joke about and that show has to know it s
limits. Anti censorship group is trying to defend a point that censorship is a dangerous

Some schools banned South Park related merchandise for students, and parent
councils in UK expressed concern when their children voted Cartman as their
favourite personality in 1999 poll. From Matt Stone s point of view, this poll
should be an eye opener to parents. Kids are not nice, innocent, flower loving little
rainbow children. Kids are all little bastards; they don t have any kind of social tact
or etiquette. He reckons. (Lim D. 1998)
Result of the said poll serves as a good
evidence that South Park has a certain level of impact on the children. If kids vote
for a specific character, it means that they can relate to that character in one way or
another, and children tend to imitate what they see or like. Is Eric Cartman a good
influence for children? I don t think so.
Not only people who fight for safety of
children reacted on the show s content. Religious people also had something to say
about specific episodes of the show. Portrayal of Virgin Mary in 139th episode of
South Park angered several Catholics, and creators also received threat messages for
portrayal of proper Muhammad in 143rd episode.
The show s aim is to provoke
and offend, so the reaction is quite
21. For My Second Practicum, I Wrote Two Lesson Plans
Because
For my second practicum, I wrote two lesson plans because I wanted to allow my
student to choose what book he wanted to read. I planned a shared reading lesson
over The Story of Henny Penny by Richard Carson and an interactive reading lesson
over I Think I Forgot by Mercer Mayer.
Planning for two different books was not difficult, but I had to keep in mind that my
student was only going to have the opportunity to read one of the books, and in the
end, my student chose to read The Story of Henny Penny. For this shared reading
lesson, I followed the steps for a shared reading by Gail E. Tompkins (2014). I had
to adjust and adapt the steps slightly because I only see my student once a week for
forty minutes which means I don t have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Reread the story. 5. Continue the process. 6. Students read independently.
If I had more time or saw my student more frequently, I would make sure to include
these steps during a shared reading lesson.
After I planned the shared reading portion of the lesson, I planned a short writing
activity where my student would have the opportunity to write down the three main
events from the story.
The teaching part of this lesson went in a totally different direction than I had
planned. After the picture walk, my student showed a deep interest in trying to
read the book out loud on his own, and I made the decision to let my student give
the book a try. Since this book was a level above what my student s level, I figured
that after a page or so he would want me to take over the reading. That is not what
happened though.
My student read the entire book on his own with minimal error! This slight change
in my lesson plan meant that I was no longer teaching a shared reading lesson, but
rather a guided reading lesson. After my student finished reading, we proceeded
with the lesson I had planned. We discussed the story, what happened, what plot was,
and then the plot of this story. Then he used the story cards to retell the story. I
labeled clothes pins with numbers one through six and had them on a piece of yarn
to symbolize that the events on the card happened in order to form a whole story.
After that we moved on to the writing
22. Cnut The Great Essay Outline
Cnut the Great, also known as Canute, was the son of Denmark s King Svein
Forkbeard and helped his father to conquer England in the year 1013. After Svein s
death, the exiled Anglo Saxon king, Ethelred the Unready, returned to power, but
died in 1016 and was succeeded by his son Edmund Ironside, who signed a treaty
that gave Cnut power over part of Englandafter being defeated at the Battle of
Ashingdon later that year (1016). However, Edmund died a few weeks later and
all of England came under Cnut s rule. His reign brought stability after years of
raids and battles. Eventually, Denmark, Norway, and possibly parts of Sweden
also came to be under his rule, forming a vast empire that is often referred to as the
Anglo Scandinavian or North Sea Empire. His son Harold Harefoot became king
when Cnut died in 1035, and served until his death in 1040. Cnut s other son,
Harthacnut, then ascended to the throne; his death in 1042 marked the end of
Danish rule in England. King Cnut s most famous quote goes as follows: Let all
men know how empty and powerless is the power of kings. For there is none worthy
of the name but God, whom heaven, earth, and sea obey.

23. Literary Analysis Of Rachel Hadas Questions In The...
In the collection of poems Questions in the Vestibule, Rachel Hadas explores the
different emotions she experiences after the death of her husband. Hadas had lost
two very important men in her life. During the Writers at Newark reading, Hadas
explained how she lost both her Father and her late husband. They both had a large
impact on her work. Her father, Moses Hadas, was a classical scholar and a
translator of classical works. He died when she was seventeen years old. She
follows in her father s footsteps and translates classical works just like him. Her late
husband, George Edwards, was a music composer and professor of music at
Columbia University. Her work is a reflection of both men and they both are
mentioned in her most recent project. In Questions in the Vestibule, Rachel is still
processing the death of George. During this time, she feels this in between feeling.
Hadas defines a vestibule, before she reads her poems, as a place where you are
neither truly in or out. The vestibule is a true emotional representation of in between
or confusion. Hadas explores the metaphorical vestibule emotionthrough form and
voice which became more clear because of the way she chose to read the text. Hadas
used form in very different ways during the reading when reciting her poem
Equipoise. The poem is in the Petrarchan Sonnetform. The form consists of two
stanzas. The first stanza is eight lines, or the octave, and poses a question. The
second stanza has six lines and is a sestet. This second stanza is the answer to the
question or a counter to the first stanza. There is a turn or volta between the eighth
and ninth lines which begins the switch from the question to the answer. Oddly,
Hadas breaks the form by not rhyming certain lines. This makes the reading more
interesting and makes the poem somewhat unfamiliar. Hadas volta capitalizes on the
theme of the in between. The hopelessness in the first stanza turns into prospects for
the future to come, by the time the second stanza comes around. Hadas writes,
Cuplike, this little valley brims with sun. Pages fill and empty (96). She describes
different objects that are void or lost. The valley was once a mountain that was
broken down by erosion to create an empty

I...My chosen topic is Gay Rights more specifically marriage equality. Public
opinion in the U.S. shows the majority support for the legal recognition of same sex
marriages. This issue is more likely to be supported by women and people under 50.
My thesis is that marriage equality a civil right, rights we are born with as a citizen
of the U.S. which the government cannot interfere with or suppress. (Lecture Notes
8/27). Over the past decade, marriage equality has become an even larger and more
controversial issue. The issue of same sex marriage equality is being supported today
in 33 states by the means of laws, court cases and social changes in our society.
II... The issue of equal legal right to marry for same sex couples first surfaced in
court around the 1970s but was immediately rejected. In the 1990s several
California lawyer s organizations supported a proposed bill to permit same sex
marriage. In 1996, President Bill Clinton signed into law the Defense of Marriage
Act, which defines marriage as being strictly between a man and a woman, and
expresses that states do not have to recognize same sex marriages that occur in other
states. In 1997, Hawaii enacts a domestic partnership legislation with limited rights
for same sex partners. That same year, anti same sex marriage laws were in place in
12 states. In Baker v. State (1999), the Vermont Supreme Court concludes that

With the influence that literature has on society, why does Australia not have their
own Canon? The answer to this; because no traditional scholars recognise Australia as
having their own identity. Literature could introduce the idea of giving Australia an
identity. Imagine the positive impact that having an Australian canon will have on the
Australian identity. A separate canon will define Australia as a country, different

27. Summary Of The Stories Boys By Susan Minot
After reading the stories: Boys by Rick Moody, Girl by Jamaica Kincaid, and Lust
by Susan Minot, I definitely became more open minded. I began to analyze each
story individually and noticed that they are all told from different points of view,
but in each story a female was the narrator. Lust , Boy , and Girl , while all three
stories are told by a femalenarrator; each narrator s voice concerns different stages of
life. In Rick Moody s short storyBoy his styles of writing was very repetitive, putting
emphasis on the word boy and the phrase enter the house (238). The tone started off
as neutral and unbiased, simply stating facts about the boys lives. For example, them
playing baseball, and borrowing their sister s Barbie doll, etc. The tone began to
soften up as the story slowly became more emotional when the twins found out their
sister was diagnosed with cancer.
In Jamaica Kincaid s short story Girls , the author also uses repetition within the
writing. As the narrator gives the girl a list of proper things a woman in their society
should do, she occasionally states, like the slut (I know) you are bent on
becoming... (326). The narrator is attempting to help the girl but also rebukes her
at the same time. There are two sets of tones in this piece; the first being the
narrator and the second tone being that of the girl. The speaker is perceived as
being bossy, listing all these demands for the girl on how to be a suitable woman in
society. The girl only

29. StudentВґs Truancy Rate and Academic Performance
Did you know that, according to the United States Department of Education, on any
given school day over 2 million students won t show up for school in the United
States? (Bullock) Truancy can lead to a multitude of undesirable attributes, such as
delinquency, poor school performance, and an increased risk of dropping out of
school. Truancy is defined differently from state to state, which makes it difficult to
research and come up with the reasons students do not attend school. Generally,
truancy can be defined as the state of being truant, or a student who misses school
without permission from his parents or from the school. From this definition, you can
assume that one of the three subjects is to blame, the student, the parent, or the
school. Many states focus on blaming and penalizing the student, which usually leads
to more truancy and an increased chance of delinquent behavior. In order to decrease
truancy, schools must begin placing responsibility on the parents as well as
increasing the amount of communication with the parents or guardians. Placing
responsibility on the parents increases their incentive to make sure their children
attend school because they can be fined, ordered to do community service, or even be
sent to jail for contempt of court. Increased communication between the school and
the parents or guardians will reduce truancy by letting the parent know exactly what
is going on in their children s lives. Increasing parental involvement in student s lives

Law enforcement officers are known to hunt for property or communications
believed to be evidence of crime, and the act of taking possession of this property,
also known as conducting a search and seizure. It is a necessary exercise in the
ongoing pursuit of criminals. Search and seizures are used to produce evidence for
the prosecution of alleged criminals. Protecting citizens from arbitrary searches, the
Fourth Amendment of the Constitution is our right to limit and deny any
unreasonable search and seizure. More often than not, policeofficers tend to take
advantage of their authority by the use of coercion. Although it is unlawful, most

(Nolo) Several police officers tend to abuse their authority to attain evidence out of
their reach. They often abuse their power because they know that the average
citizen does not know their rights. Consent is a huge factor when it comes to
determining if a search is lawful or not. The trial case of Arizona vs. Evans also
determined that the rule is not triggered when courthouse errors lead police officers
to mistakenly believe that they have a valid search warrant, because excluding the
evidence would not deter police officers from violating the law in the future.

Introduction In pyschology conformity can be descibed as an indiviual s tendency
to follow the unspoken rules or behaviours of the social group to which he/she
belongs to or wants to be apart of. Many psychologists including , Jenness (1932),
Sherif (1935) both experimented in psychology, investigating conformity and group
pressure. However, perhaps the most famous conformity experiment was done by
Solomon Asch (1951) and his line judgment experiment. (McLeod 2007) Solomon
Asch was a psychologist that conduced numerous expirments designed to illustrate
the increasing conformity within social groups. The experiments also invesigated
the effect the number of people present within the group had one the conformity
rate. Asch hypothesized, that the majority of the people would not conform to
something obviosly wrong; however, when surrounded by (other) individuals all
voicing an incorrect answer, 75% of them(the participant) will conform to the

33. Essay On The Boston Tea Party
There were many events that led to the American Revolution. However, the most
significant event that started the revolution was the Boston Tea Party. The Boston
Tea Party is the most crucial event that took place because it started rebellious
actions, it led to a chain of events which eventually caused the war to start, and it
riled up many people. The first reason why The Boston Tea Party, which is also called
the Midnight Raid, is the most significant event leading up to the American
Revolutionis because it started rebellious actions. The Boston Tea Party started as a
protest against the British taxing the American colonists tea. On December 16th,
1773, an association of around seventy men organized by Samuel Adams climbed
aboard three British ships. This group of seventy men can also be identified as the
Sons of Liberty. They were dressed as Mohawk or Narragansett Indians that would
disguise them. They thought this would deceive the British into thinking they were
Native Americans and not the Americans. It is accounted that they wore an Indian
dress, which contained blankets or ragged clothing with soot rubbed on their faces.
Once aboard the ships, the men dumped 342 chests of English tea into the Boston
Harbor. They did this as a reaction to the Stamp Act, which put taxes on paper items
and tea, and because of taxation without representation. The tea that they dumped out
was valued at around eighteen thousand dollars and was over ninety two thousand
pounds. They

In William Blake s Songs of Innocence and Songs of Experience, many of the poems

After Tom awakes from this dream, he was happy and warm with the knowledge that
with God, there was no need to fear death.
However, in Songs of Experience, the outlook on life and death is not so joyful. The
religious imagery is not so much as in Songs of
Innocence, possibly because people tend to believe more religiously when
innocence dominates terrible experiences. In the latter poem, however, the little
black thing has been clothed in the clothes of death by his parents forcing him to
become a chimney sweeper. His parents have gone to praise God and his Priest and
King, who make up a heaven of our misery and the boy cannot understand this as he
sings the notes of woe and not happiness. This chimney sweeper does not have the
innocence and hopefulness of the chimney sweeper in Songs of Innocence. This
child possesses experience of hardship and does not hold much faith in God and
religion. This version of The Chimney
Sweeper lacks the hopefulness and faith found in the former version although it is the
same setting, factors, and occupation.
William Blake conveys both innocence and experience with the literary technique of
light versus dark imagery. In Songs of Innocence, Blake discusses the issue of soot
on several instances. In the beginning verse, the young chimney sweeper slept in
soot, showing the incorruptibility and despair of the young child. Also, Tom Dacre s
white hair was shaved so that the dark soot

amounts of each hormone. As a woman gets older her body s hormones that it
naturally produces will change causing the amount of each hormone that is needed
to change, because of the changing hormone levels, it can cause a women s birth
control pills to be unreliable. This increases the female s chance of getting
pregnant. Also, if a female forgets to take an active pill one day it can cause
pregnancy to occur for up to seven days after a missed pill, if no back up method is
used (Detailed Patient Labeling Norgestmate And Ethinyl Estradiol Tablets USP

can be put on wrong which weakens the condoms stability. Condoms can also expire
and if not kept in the right environments can go bad before the expiration date. Also
condoms can break relatively easily if used incorrectly.
Some people feel that it should be the female s responsibility to provide the
contraception during sex because females have more options then men do. Females
can choose from birth control pills, the birth
38. Introspection In The Mister By Walter Dean Myers
Argument Essay Every year, consistently, teenagers attending a new school face
genuine difficulties. They usually face personal issues, social issues, and judicial
issues. For instance, they may experience difficulty understanding who they are and
their potential purpose in society, making and maintaining relationships, and staying
out of trouble. These sorts of issues don t go away, and require teenagers to fail or
learn the hard way , before they can identify the issues themselves. A novelthat I read
that delivered a powerful message and contributing to making me the person that I
am today; is the novel MONSTER by Walter Dean Myers, published in 1999. It is

Their impact starts at an early age and increases through the adolescent years. It is
common, solid and essential for teenagers to have and depend on companions as
they grow and develop. Friends can be positive influences and supportive. They
can offer one another some assistance with developing new aptitudes, or empower
enthusiasm for a variety of activities such as homework, projects, sports, etc. Then
again, having friends can have a negative impact. They can urge one another to cut
class, experiment with drugs and alcohol, or get to be include in other hazardous
practices. A great of students begin to abuse drugs and alcohol as a result of peer
pressure. Teenagers usually fall under peer pressure because they want to fit in.
They need to be enjoyed and they stress that they may be forgotten or ridiculed on
the off chance that they don t oblige the gathering. Peer pressure is conveyed to be
important in how Steve partners with his friends he s mindful are not as much as
exquisite people, but then whom he is willing to be around. There is a feeling that he
needs to demonstrate his masculinity somehow by hanging with the intense folks
regardless of the way that they can bring disaster downward on him. This important
to teenagers attending a new school because they tend to meet a variety of different
people. Teenagers in our generation are so concerned about making friends and

Capacity and Process Technology Strategy Advice for Bonkers Chocolate Factory:
A central aspect of the dynamic problem facing a business in an evolving and
competitive industry is the decision about additions to productive capacity. The
purpose of this report is to provide strategic advice for the CEO of Bonkers Chocolate
Factory (BCF), the U.S division of a multi national candy company operating in the
highly competitive chocolate products market. In late 2001, the main issue facing
BCF management involves determining and agreeing on an appropriate strategy for
the purchase of extra conching capacity, through the implementation of either new in
house developed conching technology or existing conventional conching technology.

For the operations vice president (OVP), from his perspective the new in house
developed process technology is too disruptive to production, maintenance, staff and
planning rules. Operations is the link between most areas of the business and
typically has a close relationship with the sales and marketing departments, in terms
of setting and coordinating production plans and marketing creating or generating the
levels of market demand. In the OVP s view, the operations area does not have the
necessary resources to successfully implement and maintain the new process
technology option.
BCF s engineering vice president (EVP) can be seen applying his evaluation of the
new process technology option on three main areas of focus: how the new
technology moves the BCF closer to their various strategic goals, the technical
improvements to operations processes, and the estimated cost savings for operations
as a result of implementing the new process technology. From his evaluation,
feasibility and acceptability factors outweigh any of the vulnerabilities identified by
the OVP, SVP and MVP associated with the new process technology.
Review of Possible Capacity and Process Technology Configuration Options for BCF:
When considering the new process technology option, several factors discussed
earlier must be considered. The addition of one unit of extra capacity provides BCF
the ability
40. Horace Mann Analysis
Horace Mann, known as the father of American public education , wrote the policy
document Report of the Massachusetts Board of Education, that claims
Massachusetts s school education is becoming unequal among the citizens. Mann
develops his argument by using European and American values of men, and how
society functions with men that have been treated as equals. Mann s purpose was to
discuss the problems in Massachusetts s educationsystem in order to inform his
audience and persuade a change. Mann s audience assumes an audience that would be
government workers or officials because of his message of changing the education
system.
I agree with Horace Mann, education is vital in society and determines how it
functions. If certain groups of people do not receive equal education than others, then
society will change and more poverty, unemployment, and more inequality will
increase. The President of Bard College, Leon Botstein, wrote the opinion piece Let
Teenagers Try Adulthood (1999), argues that American high schools should be
abolished. Botstein uses school cliques and brain development to develop the
argument. The author s purpose was to argue that high school are dangerous to kids
mental health and the school system should be modified in order to keep children
safe from wrong ideas that are often present in high schools. The audience of the
opinion article are school officials and people who have the power to change the
educational system.
I agree with Botstein that
41. Edward Abbey s Desert Solitaire
In Edward Abbey s Desert Solitaire, Abbey readily argues for the beauty of the
desert and for its complexity, yet simple life. Abbey clearly states that his purpose
for writing this book is not for the mere purpose of making a guide book to the
beautiful Arches National Park in Utah, but rather a eulogy to the dying wilderness
of the desert, due to the spread of the commercialism. Similar to Henry David
Thoreau, a renowned environmental essayist in the 1840s, Abbey believes in
removing oneself from the life the metropolis lifestyle and secluding oneself in the
wilderness of nature and relishing its simplicity of life. Abbey is no stranger to
believing in the ideology that we as a human race inherently belong out in the natural
world. In Desert... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Abbey detests the lives we lead, particularly in the city. A life in which we heavily
rely on invented technologies for our convenience. He especially criticizes how
the development of nature sites in general, or for the mere reason to serve the
people and accommodate the people s needs in the wild. It is for this reason that
Abbey craves to live outside of the society s influence and rule, and to live out on
one s own in solitude. The wilderness gives him a sense of freedom and offers him
a refuge from humanity s cultural dependency on the ever constant development of
technology. To him, it is a shame, and even a sin to life, to see humanity
consuming and exploiting the very thing that sustains us: But the love of the
wilderness is more than a hunger for what is always beyond reach; it is also an
expression of loyalty to the earth, the earth which bore us and sustains us, the only
paradise we ever need if only we had the eyes to see. Original sin, the true original
sin, is the blind destruction for the sake of greed of this natural
42. Fidget Spinners Argumentative Essay
In 2017, a new toy called the fidget spinner was seen in every child s hand
throughout classrooms and at home. The demand for this product was, and still is,
like none other, and it seems to have taken over the world. During school hours, we
take the time to learn about subjects that will allow us to thrive later on in life.
However, students focus in class has decreased due to this new craze. Fidget spinners
should not be allowed in classrooms because they are a distraction, they are
dangerous, and they are not always used for ADHD/anxiety purposes. Fidget spinners
are causing a distraction in classrooms. Instead of focusing on the class, the students
are focusing on the spinning. Not only does it distract the student with the fidget
spinner, but other students in the classroom become mesmerized by the spinning
motion. Children have attached classroom items to the spinners, such as pencils and
pens. More attention is drawn to the fidget spinners and the danger increases.... Show

attached razor blades to the end and have tried balancing it on their head. On
YouTube, some of the most popular fidget spinner videos include the spinner going
at incredibly fast rates. Cans full of air pressure are used to make the fidget spinner
go at dangerous speeds. One of the fastest moving fidget spinners was tested on an

43. How Did Benito Mussolini Support Fascism
Benito Mussolini Benito Mussolini was born on July 29, 1883 in Forli, Italy. He
was the son of a blacksmith that believed in socialism. As a child, Mussolini was
very intelligent, but also very disobedient. He was expelled from many schools for
bullying and defying school authorities. In 1901, he obtained a teaching certificate
and was a schoolmaster for a short time. He was raised to believe in socialism but as
time went by, his beliefs changed.
Fascism Fascism was a political movement that emphasized loyalty to the state and
obedience to its leaders. Mussolini used his former allies, the socialist to build
power, but betrayed them by supporting fascism. He wanted to make Italy a major
power and create an Italian colonial empire. Mussolini ... Show more content on

His followers were called fascists. Fascist squads swept through Italy s countryside,
causing a lot of destruction. In October 1922, about 30,000 fascists marched to Rome
and demanded that King Victor Emmanuel put Mussolini in charge of the
government. Now that he was prime minister, Mussolini abolished other political
parties. Once he was leader, he called himself Il
Duce or The Supreme Leader. Mussolini could continue his fascist reign with all the
power he got.
Ethiopia Mussolini invaded Ethiopia to show the strength of his regime. Italy
prepared for 10 months before invading Ethiopia in October 1935. Ethiopians were
not prepared to fight against Italy s modern tanks and airplanes. Italians dropped gas
bombs on the Ethiopian people. Britain, France, and other countries did not like Italy
s conquering of Ethiopia. The disapproval of other nation drove Mussolini to an
alliance with Germany.
Militarism/Blackshirts The Blackshirts were armed squads who supported
Mussolini and used violence to fight anti fascist groups. The Blackshirts became the
national militia on February 1, 1923. Mussolini used middle class youth to suppress
his opposition. The Blackshirts were a powerful force that later merged with the
military. They wore black uniforms were a way of showing support for the Italian

44. Increasing The Drinking Age
Today topic is legal age for drinking is twenty five. Drinking is a habit which leads
our society in a bad way. Nowadays children are more addicted to drinking and
they have become like a slaves. In this way there should be a legal rules for
drinking. There should be an age limit for drinking, nowadays the limit put by the
government is twenty five. In my opinion, the age limit should increase. If the
people are habituated to the drinking earlier, they face the consequences also earlier.
If there is increasing the age limit we can see the decrease in the percentage of the
rate of alcoholconsuming people, but apply these rules strictly.
In the government point of view, they face financial problems. The government is
getting more tax by alcohol transaction. Though it a nightmare to the government, the
top crew in the government should agree the proposal. In this situation government
should concern about the people s health. As our great leaders said, country
development is in the hands of youth. If the youth are addicted to alcohol they
forgot their future and their goals. Doctors saying that, consumption of alcohol in a
small quantity is better not in large. Alcohol gives strength to our body. Though it is
fair in this way the age limit should increase. People can enjoy the taste of alcohol
after certain age, then only they could be able to lead happy life. ... Show more

45. Evil Revivalists And Evil Sceptics
In philosophy, there are two groups of people who debate the concept of evil, Evil
Revivalists and Evil Sceptics. Evil Revivalists are all about evil being a useful term
in today s society. They argue the word evil is the only concept we can use for the
worst of the worst. They also say that only by facing the evilin our lives can we
prevent it. This theory helps society to focus our limited energy and resources when
describing evil and helps us to respond better to evil. The Evil Sceptics on the other
hand think evil is concept that is too extreme and only hinders our thinking about
bad events. They argue that evil is often associated with the supernatural and lacks
explanatory power. They also say that it is way too harmful a concept as

The Structure of the DNA
Rosalind Franklin once said We wish to discuss a structure for the salt of
deoxyribose nucleic acid. (DNA). This structure has novel features which are

own colleague and her rival chemist got her only piece of evidence (or work).
Franklin had a bad relationship with her colleague Wilkins and that is what got her
that bad luck. Franklin created the first DNA structure proof and used persistence to
innovate ways to overcome a lot of hardships and illuminated the world of chemistry
by giving the first DNA structure.

Franklin then moved on to be an assistant researcher at British Coal Utilization
Research Association, where she studied coal and that was pretty much her Ph.D.
Franklin was then appointed at Laboratoire Central des Services Chemiques de I

how they create images of crystallized images. Franklin then refined the machine
because it was not always accurate and unorganized. (Franklin 2015) Franklin then
took the challenge that another chemist took up and Franklin put a DNA fiber under
the X ray machine she created and refined, it took 100 hours but Franklin finally got
the the picture called Photograph 51 . Franklin s colleague was not having a good
relation with her and he took the picture and showed it to the other scientist and that
caused panic for Franklin.
Rosalind Franklin affected society by changing chemistry in a well organized
science that can help almost anyone in need. Franklin also changed the way society
works today (unless this was already in play) was to be cautious about who you
trust and what you trust them by as Franklin was betrayed by her colleague and
Franklin s rival or other scientist got the structure out first so he was rewarded with
a nobel peace prize. Franklin changed so many people s lives just from a DNA
structure so that a lot
47. The Essence Of Place Essay
The Essence of Place If I had to sum Watauga Residential College in one word, I
would come down to the word community because that is exactly what being a part
of this program feels like. When reading the description of what Watauga will be for
a prospective student, I gathered that the experience will be like being a part of a
community inside and outside of the classroom and this is achieved through
academic and living encounters. As Wataugans we spend time in academic and social
environments together, our spirit of learning is shown through the times we spend
together academically and socially. And by socially I mean we have lunch together,
and when there are opportunities we volunteer together and take recreational trips
when possible and through all of that our faculty is involved with us as well. Yes,
my fellow classmates I do engage ourselves with one another but we engage with the
Watauga faculty as well. The Watauga Residential College
is known to be located in a
residence hall called the Living Learning Center also known as the LLC, this is
where we make our homes for the first few years of college and also where the
faculty members offices can be found. In the LLC our small seminar classes take
place in the residence hall; our luncheons take place here, and many other social
activities happen here as well. The Wataugans that have passed their first years also
are here and the ones who don t live in the LLC always come back to visit. The LLC

48. Human Failings And God s Plan Of Redemption
The Old Covenant is a compilation of testimonies and instructions given to all of
Israel. They had been instructed by God s servants and had witnessed numerous
divine miracles from God, yet they failed to live up to their end of the bargain. This
overview will show us a pattern of human failings and God s plan of redemption.
CREATION
In the beginning was God, God creates the universe, he creates Adam and Eve and
institutes marriage . Satan tempts Adam and Eve, who then falls into sin, for the
wages of sin is death. The Lord God made clothes out of animal skins for Adam and
his wife to wear and graciously pronounced upon all creation a curse for which he
has provided the cure. Pronouncing a son, who will crush the head of Satan who is
depicted as a serpent.
THE PATRIARCHS
One of the most significant examples of God s redemptive plan is introduced
through Abraham. God promises to give Abraham his own land and to make him
a father of a great nation through his descendants. His wife Sarah was also old and
had always been barren. However God insisted that Sarah would bear a son to
Abraham and his name would be Isaac. Through the promise and power of God,
Isaac was indeed born to them. In time, Isaac begot Jacob who became known by the
name Israel. He fathered 12 sons from whom the twelve tribes of Israel were
descended. They are Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, Gad, Asher,
Joseph, Benjamin, Dan and Naphtali.
Joseph s brothers sold him into slavery and he ends

The park is mostly a desert environment and lacks green vegetation. However the
lack of the plants doesn t discourage any geologists. The rock layers at the park

else on the Earth displays so many different layers of the earths history. The parks
most famous animal is the Californian Condor, it can be seen flying near the Grand
Canyon Village located on the South Rim of the canyon. Common birds include
Canyon whens, Stellar s Jays, Swallows Hummingbirds, and the always
entertaining Ravens. There are mule deer which are very common. Some of the
largest elk can be found in the park. Desert Big Horn Sheep can be sighted also but
rarely. You can see them mostly in the inner canyon. The park has there pack of
coyotes just like everywhere else, but if you stop and take a few moment to listen
you just might be able to hear their song. Predators in the park can consist of
mountain lions and bobcats. The park does have a few black bears but they are
very rare to be spotted. The favorite animal among the tourist is the Albert s
Squirrel. The park rangers urge campers and one day visitors to use caution, these
animals are all dangerous no matter if they seem harmless and cute. The climate at
the park varies, depending on where you are in the park. The North Rim is often 20
to 30 degrees cooler then at the river. The N. Rim can get snow while a few miles
away it is at a comfortable
