My Dream Come True Essay
I ve been a Yankees fan since I was 3 years old and I ve never been to a baseball game.
Oh, my God I want to go to a baseball game so badly!
From this very conversation, my dream and my girlfriends dream came true. Let me
tell you a little bit more about us and explain why this is a dream come true for the
both of us. Let me start by saying a couple things you need to know about me first.
Growing up as a kid in a
Hispanic household we would mainly watch sports, such as soccer and baseball but
mainly soccer and this is where my love and passion grew for soccer. But that s another
story we can talk about in the future. Anyways, baseball around my dad and I would be a
big deal because he supports the New York Mets when on the other hand, I ve been a
Yankee since I was 3 years old. As most people know the Mets and the Yankees are rivals
in the baseball game. It s been my dream since I was a child to go watch a baseball game
in the Yankee stadium. Now let me tell you a little bit of my girlfriend, she has been
playing softball ever since she was like around 13
14 years old. She fell in love with the game and loves to watch it as much as I do and
especially the Yankees. When I met her and we started dating she didn t really watch
the Major Leagues but did watch some college softball games occasionally. Little by
little I was able to turn her into a Yankees fan so now she watches every game when she
gets the chance too, she loves Arron
Judge by the way. But her dream ever
The Tragical History Of Romeo And Juliet
In Shakespeare s rendition of the poem, The Tragical History of Romeus and Juliet by
Arthur Brooke, there lies an epic story filled with tragedy and romance. This play
introduces two characters who fall in love at first sight and even decide to be married
the next day. By today s standards, this may be seen as completely absurd and
impractical. The couple even commits suicide in an attempt to reunite with each other.
Even with the sacrifice made, there is no guarantee that their affection would last if they
had not been victims of circumstance. The supposed lovethat Romeo and Juliet share is
not real because they had a very brief amount of time to get to know each other well,
they are young and do not have enough experience in life, and their... Show more content

As it turns out, Romeo and Juliet also fall into that category. In the words of Lord
Capulet, But saying o er what I have said before. My child is yet a stranger in the
world. She hath not seen the change of fourteen years. (1.2.7 9) The reader can deduct
from this that Juliet is just thirteen years old. As it stands, Romeo s age is not directly
stated in the play, and it is arguable that he could be a variety of ages. Nonetheless, he
is young as well, relatively close in age to Juliet. Being that these two are so young, they
have not had as much experience as an adult has. Extreme hardships, working to earn
their keep, and sustaining their own household are things that these two have not seen the
likes of. Certainly, these experiences have a great potential to change them and their
actions. Their judgements and views on life may be altered as a result of these. Lord
Capulet even states that Juliet is a stranger in the world , implying that she does not know
much about how things work. In conclusion, Romeo and Juliet are so young that their
experiences are not significant enough for them to decide that they should be married just
Rules Of The Game, Fish Cheeks, And Two Kinds
In Amy tans short stories Rules of the Game, Fish Cheeks, and Two Kinds part of the
novel the Joys Luck Club uses topics concerning the limits and connections in the
relationships between mothers and their daughters. In an Asian society, especially
Chinese society assumes a vital part in every one of the three short stories, giving the
primary conflict an interesting plot. Amy Tans short stories for the most part depict the
inconveniences and strain between Chinese immigrant moms and their Americanized
daughters through their common experiences in a captivating way. The daughters
disregard the Chinese part of their heritage and personality and grasp the American side.
They ponder their adolescence up with solid order and desires that the greater part of
them have not met prompting future blame. Presently as developed ladies with their own
particular families, the Americanized daughters mirror the past with contradictions they
had with their Chinese society. Every daughter in the story s in the long run perceives
how their tradition and generation had huge influence in forming their characters making
them grasp their Chinese legacy.
Amy Ruth Tan was born in Oakland, California, on February 19, 1952. Her father was a
Chinese born Baptist minister; her mom was the daughter of an upper class family in
Shanghai, China. Throughout Amy tans childhood, Tan struggled with her parent s desire
to hold onto Chinese traditions and expectations and her own beliefs and desire to become
Chemotaxis Lab Report
Introduction C.elegans are part of the nematoda family. The nematoda family are a group
of worms that have unsegmented bodies and are usually round worms that can be free
living or parasitic. C.elegans are a version of the worm that is non parasitic, non
hazardous, and non infectious. C.elegans have had their entire genomesequenced, this
makes it easy for scientists to see what genes they are changing and how that will affect
the organism. (Edgley and riddle lab, 2015). For this experiment chemotaxis was tested
in the organism. Chemotaxis is defined by the following: The movement of organisms in
response to chemicals, whether they be attracted or repelled by the chemical that is
chosen. (Farley, 2012).
Experimental Design: To start out this experiment is going to have 3 replicates for an
experimental plate which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The control plates will act as the positive controls, the diacetyl since studies have
shown that it is a positive chemoattractant. Because of this information, the
independent variable is the coffee that is going to replace the diacetyl, and the
dependent variable is going to be the chemotaxis index of the coffee. The equipment
that was used for this experiment included, C.elegans, p 20 micropipette, 6 agar plates,
sodium azide, coffee, and water. Once these materials are gathered begin the
experiment. The first step is to take the agar plates and split them into two sides with a
circle in the middle with the label A on one side and B on the other. (Fig A.)
Continuation of the prep of the plates includes placing 2Вµl of sodium azide right
above the A and B, this is to sedate the worm so that they don t accidentally wriggle off
the plates. Once this step is done the next step will be to place 2Вµl of water on the B
side of all the plates including the control plates. Now it is time to add the hypothesized
chemoattractant to the A size of the plates, for the control plates
Primates at the Lowery Park Zoo in Tampa, Florida Essay
At the Lowery Park Zoo located in Tampa Florida, I was able to conduct a field project
on primates. These primates that I focused on are divided into the suborders
Anthropoidea and Prosimii (. The first primate on my list is classified as a prosimian,
the Ring Tailed Lemur or the Lemur catta are located on the African island of
Madagascar. Next I turned to the Mandrillor Mandrillus sphinx that fall in the suborder
of Anthropoids, these monkeys are located in Nigeria, Africa. Lastly my attention was
drawn to the Siamang Gibbon or Symphalangus syndactylus who also fell in the
category of Anthropoids and are located in Malaysia and Sumatra. These monkeys all
being related do have many differences among them as well as comparisons as I have...

As my observation continued I noticed they are constantly digging in search of
something and when they have found an item of interest they immediately sniff to
possibly get a better sense of what they have in their possession. Upon looking at the
Mandrill monkeys they have a nub for a tail that usually arches and lays against they
back and when on high alert it is stiff and stands at a vertical angle. As I moved on to
the Siamang Gibbon who inhabits rainforests in the mountain regions they are the
largest of the three monkeys I observed. They have much longer forelimb than their
hind limbs and as for their usage of scent I haven t observed any type of action. In this
species I observed no tail just fur all over. In comparison, us humans have longer legs
and arms that are at an appropriate length in relation to our legs and throughout our
lifetime we have used our arms to climb and hang from a number of things. As for the
way we use our nose we don t have that sharp of a scent to sniff out hormones that are
projected when we find someone attractive but we both share the forward facing eyes.
While watching each species in their enclosure they each get around in a way that best
suits and supports them. While watching the Ring Tailed Lemur that briefly walked
around, I ve noticed it preferred to walk with all fours on the ground and on the platform
stationed inside the enclosure where it also sat in an upright position. Since
Amborella Genome Analysis
According to the Penn State University, the newly sequenced genome of the
Amborellaplant addresses Darwin s abominable mystery . The genome sequence shed a
new light to fully understand where flowers came from. Amborella is unique as the sole
survivor of an ancient evolutionary lineage that traces back to the last ancestor of
flowering plants. The plant is small understory tree found only on the main island of New
Caledonia in the South Pacific. An effort to decipher the Amborella genomewhich is led
by the scientist of this university, is uncovering evidence for the evolutionary processes
that paved the way for the amazing diversity of more than 300,000 flowering plant
species can found in our planet. Scientists who sequenced the amborella genome say that
it provides conclusive evidence that the ancestor of all flowering plantsevolved following
a genome doubling event that occurred about 200 million years ago.... Show more content

Claude dePamphilis of Penn State University, stated that genome doubling may offer an
explanation to Darwin s abominable mystery . Comparative analyses of the amborella
genome are already providing scientist with a new perspective on the genetic origins of
important traits in all flowering plants. Resequencing of individual Amborella plants
across the species, range reveals geographic structure with conservation implications plus
evidence of a recent, major genetic bottleneck stated by Pam Soltis of the University of
Florida. A similar narrowing of genetic variation occurred when humans migrated from
Africa to found modern day Eurasians
2 the Lego Group
The Lego Group: Building Strategy Problem Statement:
The Lego Group has been making toys successfully for 80 years and has grown to having
close to 3.16 B USD in sales for the 2010 year. They specialize in toy building sets, a
sector of the market that has seen 13% growth in 2010 and is forecasted to grow further.
However, the Lego Group is at a cross road in their business plan and requires a strategic
plan going forward.
Currently, the company needs to look at its existing partnerships with Disney after
Disney s significant mergers and acquisitions in the past year. Lego is regarding Disney
s purchase of Hasbro and Mattel as a threat to their market share of the toy building block
sets due to potentially losing kids who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lego s CEO, Knudstorp, and his team of senior executive managers can address the
dividend issue with the board/owners and argue that the money is needed to grow the
company. Cutting the dividend of a private company does not have any effect on their
perceived public image and brand equity. Implementation should be immediate.
Video games are very complex and have developed immensely in the last thirty years.
Lego Group is not a specialized company for video games and should therefore remove
its interest in developing their online Lego Universe. It is imperative that the
www.LEGO.com site be interactive and engaging as well as serve to promote their
customer project designing feature which has proven successful. However, having a
paid membership high end video game does not fit with the core image of Lego being a
building toy manufacturer with a vision to develop children. Lego Universe should be
scrapped as soon as possible and efforts should be directed to promoting successful lines
of building toys.
Disney has recently purchased two of Lego s main competitors, Mattel and Hasbro,
who are the first and second leading toy sellers respectively. Hasbro s deal with Marvel
comics is now effectively Disney s deal with Marvel comics. Lego has an existing
partnership with Disney and should be capitalizing on Tom Stagg s goal to

results will aid us in determining vegetation composition and create vegetation profiles of
the area.
Tulare County, with the exception of the National Parks, has one of the least known
floras in California. Since much of the valley floor has been converted to agricultural
purposes and the foothills dedicated to ranching, there have been few botanical surveys
performed. Evidence of gaps in collections are glaring when one references the site

Distinctive patterns of plant distribution are evident at the SCICON facility. Riparian
habitats associated with Bear Creek show high diversity and are well represented by
plants requiring high moisture soils such as alders, sycamores, and willows. South and
west facing slopes receive the greatest amount of solar exposure and thus support only
plant species well adapted to drought and heat stress. Quercus douglassii (Blue Oak)
appears to be the dominant species in this strongly xeric environment. North and east
facing slopes have a very diverse representation of trees that include Umbellularia
californica (California bay), Quercus wislizeni (live oak) and Aesculus hippocastanum
(horse chestnut). Within these varied environments are found an array of vegetation
types listed above that are named after their dominant species. At SCICON Quercus
douglasii (Blue Oak) Woodlands are the most dominant. Several species collected over
the last few months had not been previously collected by UC Jepson affiliated

Critical evaluation of An Inspector Calls Essay
Critical evaluation of An Inspector Calls
An Inspector Calls
An Inspector Calls is a play set in the mystery/ detective thriller genre. It is set in 1912
however it was written by J.B Priestly in
1945 and staged in Moscow. As he lived through both wars he could see what had
actually happened in the time the play was set. J.B Priestly uses the characters to express
his views on the issue of social responsibility, morality and about class divisions with
many themes including greed, regret, guilt and blame.
An Inspector Calls is about the Birling family who are quite wealthy. They are celebrating
their daughters engagement with her fiancГ©, Gerald. An Inspector arrives and breaks
up the party, questioning the family on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the introduction, the play is said to be set in a large suburban house which has good
solid furniture. It is comfortable but not cosy or homelike. It is an evening and they
are seated in the dining room round a table near a fire. This setting creates a very eerie
mood as they are in a large empty house. The fact that it is an evening produces a
stronger impact on the mystery, (suspense as the events unfold). There is a change in
Sheila s behavior just after the inspector arrives. For example, when Sheila enters the
room overhearing bits of conversation between the Inspector and Mr Birling, she is
told to run along . However is very anxious to know what s happening and to be
involved. She is not so carefree once told of Eva s suicide as she exclaims in shock oh
how horrible . Sheila is quite distressed as she later says ... I can t help thinking about
this girl destroying herself so horribly...I wish you hadn t told me . This shows that
Sheila was so carefree and naГЇve, that this revelation of a suicide has affected her at
such an early stage.
At this stage the main tensions of the play are finding out what exactly happened and
who was involved.
Sheila then finds out that her father sacked Eva Smith for leading a strike in favor of a
pay rise. She reacts in an unsure manner asking
Did you, Dad? This shows that Sheila thought her father s action weren t at all justified.

Comedy Of Errors Film Analysis
Hopeless and helpless doth Egeon wend. But to procrastinate his lifeless end. The
Comedy of Errors is one of Shakespeare s earliest and comedic creations, with
inspiration drawn from the Roman comedy Menaechmi. The Royal Shakespeare
Company was founded in 1961 with the goal to entertain and educate audiences on
Shakespeare s works, by putting a modern twist on the performances. Their version of
The Comedyof Errors, co produced with Told by an Idiot, manipulates the actor s
movements, language and dramatic tension as well as the elements of theatrein order to
convey the comedy and irony of the play to a young audience.

The costumes lacked a time period, making them look very messy and mismatched, with
people wearing leg warmers while others wore bright blue mesh singlets. This mishmash
of clothes created a focus issue as the audience s concentration was turned towards the
costumes rather than the acting and dialogue. It is clear that the creatives were trying to
the engage the younger, upper primary audience with the crazy costumes, but they failed
to do so and created confusion over their impact to the dramatic meaning.
Director Paul Hunter used many of the stylistic elements often seen in Commedia Del
Arte performances. Similar to commedia performance, The Comedy of Errors was
designed to be a travelling show, going from school to school to share their creation and
educate students. Due to this, the set had to be simple and transportable and Vale
achieves this successfully by using a simple square stage but managing to maintain
many levels with seats behind the raised stage. Other commedia elements, such as mask
work, is also used in the production to some extent, with both Antipoli wearing glasses
that act as masks. The play also uses the idea of Master and Servants, a noticeable feature
of commedia performances. The creatives also used audience participation to tell the
story, by spraying water on them, getting them to direct actors to hidden

Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitzand the play Macbeth, both protagonists have characters

In both stories external forces have told Macbeth and Duddy what they have to do in
order become successful. In Macbeth, the witches inform on how to become king which
corrupts him. A quote from the play showing this is All hail, Macbeth, that shalt be king
hereafter! (Shakespeare, 10) Another quote showing his reaction to this is Stay, you
imperfect speakers, tell me more! (Shakespeare, 11) This shows us how the witches told
Macbeth that he could become king and then he gets too caught up in it which finally
leads to his corruption. In Duddy we see Simcha tell Duddy that A man without land is
nothing. (Richler, ) After Simcha tells Duddy this, Duddy does whatever he can to be a
man with

corruption of Duddy. The external forces around Macbeth and Duddy influence their
decisions which lead to the corruption of both characters. Macbeth and Duddy are so
focused on the pursuit of their dream that their ambition to obtain their dream leads to
their corruption. In both stories Macbeth and Duddy s ambition to pursuit their dream
becomes so large that both protagonists are willing to do anything in order to achieve that
dream. Throughout Macbeth we see many times where he is willing to do anything

Epiphany In Miss Brill
Ms. Brill Essay In the short story Miss Brill the protagonist, Miss Brill, is a lonely and
isolated woman who likes to spend her Sunday afternoon s in the park observing
everyone around her and listening to their conversations without them knowing. We can
infer that Miss Brill has created her own fantasy world to escape the harsh reality of her
own life. At the end of the story the audience can come to the conclusion that Miss Brill
experienced an epiphany that will change her life.
Today epiphany has many different definitions and is udes in many different ways,

Another indication that Miss Brill has an epiphany is when Miss Brill puts away her
fur. She unclasped the necklet quickly; quickly, without looking, laid it inside. But
when she put the lid on it she thought she heard something crying (page 4). This
represents her putting away her fantasy world and her fantasies about being an actress.
In the beginning of the story, Miss Brill takes her fur out of a box and brushes its coat,
polishes its eyes, and talks to the fur as if it s a living thing. This shows the audience
her poor mental state and how lonely she really is. The narrator tells us that Miss Brill
liked the way the fur s eyes looked sad at her and how soft the fur was. By the way that
the narrator describes the fur as old and shabby, and the way that Miss Brill cares for
the fur we understand that the fur represents Miss Brill and her fantasy world. It is also
inferred that the crying sound is Miss Brill herself. Also Miss Brill putting away her fur
is representative of her loss of innocence and her gaining insight to what her life is really
like.
A fourth indication that Miss Brill has an epiphany is when Miss Brill goes home and
sits on her bed silently thinking to herself. It can be concluded that Miss Brill has
another epiphany of how no one really cares for her and how alone she really is just by
sitting in this room. The author describes

Antigone Feminist Analysis
Antigone, a Greek tragedy pertaining to the events following the deaths of Eteocles and
Polynices, Oedipus sons, due to a conflict over power. Upon the death of both children
their uncle Creon takes the throne of Thebes for himself and declares Polynices a traitor
to the state and withheld his burial rights from him. Antigone choose to disobey Creon s
decree and bury her bother. Sophoclesplay has been a long treasure piece of literature

Creon simply must punish Polyneices as a means of discouraging others from questing
his own rule. This decree is also to ensure the people that he means to establish an era of
peace.
(Cowell Meyers 1) Later a sentry enters clearly fearful of Creon and declares Polynices
body to have been given burial rights in the mist of night. He then explains the only
reason he came as messenger was having lost a game of draw straws. Clearly Creon
has already instilled fear in the guards, furthering evidence that he rules through fear.
Continuing this trend, he informs the sentry that should he fail to bring in the
perpetrator to be stoned that he will take their place. This threat is not only to further
instill fear into the sentry and encourage him to find the guilty member, but to fish out
or deter the person who dare to break Creon s decree. The hope is that the culprit will
realize that someone will be punished for their actions and either merely end their acts
or encourage them to come forward. The sentry later returned with Antigone as the
accused and when asked serval times she proudly announced that she had in fact given
Polynices his burial rights. She knew before casting the dirt on to his still body that she
would be caught and sentenced to death. This is exactly what Creon promises her, true
to his word he threatens her with a stone. This is in hope that Antigone will repent and
apologize, as he has tried to save her though he is
The Human Perception And Distinction Between Gender And...
Evolutions in scientific thought have often contributed to overhauls of the human
perception and distinction between gender and culture. Consequently, scientific
revolutions have also triggered sociopolitical movements, which have had negative and
positive connotations on culture and society. This overhaul in scientific thought began in
the 19th century with naturalist Charles Darwinand his theory of Darwinism. Darwinism
states that animal species continually evolve through the complex processes of natural
selection and those most fit learn to adapt and survive to their particular environment
(darwin online.org, 2008). Shortly after Darwin made his revolutionary claims, one of the

  • 2. My Dream Come True Essay I ve been a Yankees fan since I was 3 years old and I ve never been to a baseball game. Oh, my God I want to go to a baseball game so badly! From this very conversation, my dream and my girlfriends dream came true. Let me tell you a little bit more about us and explain why this is a dream come true for the both of us. Let me start by saying a couple things you need to know about me first. Growing up as a kid in a Hispanic household we would mainly watch sports, such as soccer and baseball but mainly soccer and this is where my love and passion grew for soccer. But that s another story we can talk about in the future. The Tragical History Of Romeo And Juliet In Shakespeare s rendition of the poem, The Tragical History of Romeus and Juliet by Arthur Brooke, there lies an epic story filled with tragedy and romance. This play introduces two characters who fall in love at first sight and even decide to be married the next day. By today s standards, this may be seen as completely absurd and impractical. The couple even commits suicide in an attempt to reunite with each other. Even with the sacrifice made, there is no guarantee that their affection would last if they had not been victims of circumstance. The supposed lovethat Romeo and Juliet share is not real because they had a very brief amount of time to get to know each other well, they are young and do not have enough experience in life, and their... My child is yet a stranger in the world. She hath not seen the change of fourteen years. (1.2.7 9) The reader can deduct from this that Juliet is just thirteen years old. As it stands, Romeo s age is not directly stated in the play, and it is arguable that he could be a variety of ages. Nonetheless, he is young as well, relatively close in age to Juliet. Being that these two are so young, they have not had as much experience as an adult has. Extreme hardships, working to earn their keep, and sustaining their own household are things that these two have not seen the likes of. Certainly, these experiences have a great potential to change them and their actions. Their judgements and views on life may be altered as a result of these. Lord Capulet even states that Juliet is a stranger in the world , implying that she does not know much about how things work. In conclusion, Romeo and Juliet are so young that their experiences are not significant enough for them to decide that they should be married just

The nematoda family are a group of worms that have unsegmented bodies and are usually round worms that can be free living or parasitic. C.elegans are a version of the worm that is non parasitic, non hazardous, and non infectious. C.elegans have had their entire genomesequenced, this makes it easy for scientists to see what genes they are changing and how that will affect the organism. (Edgley and riddle lab, 2015). For this experiment chemotaxis was tested in the organism. Chemotaxis is defined by the following: The movement of organisms in response to chemicals, whether they be attracted or repelled by the chemical that is chosen. (Farley, 2012). The equipment that was used for this experiment included, C.elegans, p 20 micropipette, 6 agar plates, sodium azide, coffee, and water. Once these materials are gathered begin the experiment. As I moved on to the Siamang Gibbon who inhabits rainforests in the mountain regions they are the largest of the three monkeys I observed. It is clear that the creatives were trying to the engage the younger, upper primary audience with the crazy costumes, but they failed to do so and created confusion over their impact to the dramatic meaning. Director Paul Hunter used many of the stylistic elements often seen in Commedia Del Arte performances. Similar to commedia performance, The Comedy of Errors was designed to be a travelling show, going from school to school to share their creation and educate students. This represents her putting away her fantasy world and her fantasies about being an actress. In the beginning of the story, Miss Brill takes her fur out of a box and brushes its coat, polishes its eyes, and talks to the fur as if it s a living thing. This shows the audience her poor mental state and how lonely she really is. The narrator tells us that Miss Brill liked the way the fur s eyes looked sad at her and how soft the fur was. By the way that the narrator describes the fur as old and shabby, and the way that Miss Brill cares for the fur we understand that the fur represents Miss Brill and her fantasy world. It is also inferred that the crying sound is Miss Brill herself. In the minds of eugenicists of the late 19th and 20th centuries, the ideal and most fit race of people was Anglo Saxon. This obsession to breed a world dominated by the white Anglo Saxon race negatively skewed the societal perception of women.
