Summer Descriptive Writing
It all began with a simple phone call one night around two in the morning. I glanced
down at my phone, the name Summer illuminating the screen. As I hesitated to answer
the phone, I thought of the nice quiet evening at home, I would have if I rejected the call.
I could sleep, and not have another stupid adventure with
Thirty minutes, however Summer s burnt orange 1968 VW bug rumbled into my
driveway, and she was leaning on the horn before the car came to a full stop. Grabbing
my coat from the couch, I walked out my front door with all the enthusiasm of a man
going to stand before a firing squad.

I shut the car off, and climbed out of the car, waiting for Summer to follow. I saw her
stretching out of the corner of my eye, her black curls bouncing with her every
movement. I waited for her to finish, then led the way toward the entrance of the diner,
peering through the door I could see the faint illumination of the lights. A dimly lit
fluorescent sign informed me that they were in fact open, even at 3 in the morning. After

I followed summer into the diner, and glanced at a sign that read Please Seat Yourself.
Summer lead the way to a booth located near the window, where she practically fell
into the seat. I slid into the seat across from her. The waitress clad in a very vintage
pink uniform circa 1960 s, slowly made her way to our table, her name tag read Cindy.
Her hair was a box dye auburn, face clad with gaudy makeup, including a red lipstick that
aged her immensely.
Hello ladies, you re here quite late, or early I suppose. What can I get you to drink? she

Similarities Between Animal Farm And Animal Farm
Two visions; Different Results
In George Orwell s novel Animal Farm he asserts that following blindly , will lead to
government abuse and corruption. Orwell s assertion brings life to the philosophy that a
utopian atmosphere can never exist. Orwell s purpose is to deliver the idea of communism
not being successful and to make the audience reading not want to get into
communism. George Orwell informs the young audience of the danger with
communism. Orwell was a very cynical individual when it came to writing Animal
Farm . There were many similarities and differences between Martin Luther King Jr.
and the character, Old Major in Animal Farm. One similar political equality between
the two figures is they both had a vision or dream of inspiring the masses of people to
dream of a better future. between two groups of people. Despite having so many
similarities between the two there are also several differences as well. Such as, the
animals had different rights to fight for, for example, the animals were being
overworked by Mr. Jones and they were not receiving enough food. On the other side,
the blacks, during the Martin Luther King Jr. time period, were not able to go in the
same bathroom as whites. The Blacks had restrictions to their rights in the idea of not
being able to pursue certain circumstances as the whites did.
The historical figure Martin Luther King Jr. had many similarities and differences
with the character in Animal Farm, Old Major. Both individuals had visions of
rebellion but Martin Luther had the mentality of peaceful rebellion, while olf major
wanted violence. The significant events between Martin Luther King Jr. and Old
Major was the Beasts of England speech and the I have a Dream speech. Old Major
used Beasts of England to show the animals his vision or dream for the farm. Also,
Martin Luther King Jr. used I have a Dream to bring light to the idea of black rights.
Old Major and Martin Luther King Jr. both had both a goal in their mind for what they
want there atmosphere to be. In Animal Farm, the speech Beasts of England was used
and it said Beasts of England, Beasts of England, Beasts of every land and clime,
hearken to my joyful tidings (orwell 12) The quotes from the
Thurgood Marshall Essay
Thurgood Marshall During the 20th century I have read many books, newspaper articles
and seen news broadcasts on two of the most famous Afro American Pioneers: Martin
Luther King and Thurgood Marshall. Martin Luther King fought all his life for equal
rights for Afro Americans, but Thurgood Marshall help elevate the Afro American civil
rights struggles through legal precedents and timely court decisions. Thomas G.
Kraftenmaker a professor of Constitutional law at Georgetown University Law Center
wrote, When I think of great American lawyers I think of Thurgood Marshall, Abe
Lincoln and Daniel Webster . In this century only Earl Warren approaches Marshall.

By 1934 Thurgood begins work for The NAACP. In 1935 Thurgood and his friend and
mentor Charles Huston won their first civil rights case Murray v. Pearson. Today most
Afro Americans don t realize how important a role Thurgood played in shaping the
legal precedents for school segregation. Thurgood hated the ideal of our young and
proud Afro Americans boys and girls having to travel outside their school districts just
to attend colored schools, because their local elementary and high schools were not
segregated. . Thurgood fought hard and vigorously to bring about a change in
elementary and high school segregation. In 1954 Thurgood conquers a big milestone
in winning his famous case Brown v. The Board of Education, of Topeka Kansas. The
United States Supreme Court ruled that all elementary and high schools will be
segregated. From 1940 1960s Thurgood s name became a main stayed within the Afro
American Communities. Afro Americans from many cities would call upon
Thurgood for his services. Thurgood would work for free, just to help and defend his
people. Then in February 1955 Thurgood s wife Vivan became very ill from cancer,
and she eventually died. Thurgood was so saddened that he remained single for two
years. Thurgood then met and eventually married his second wife Cecilia Suyat. (Born
as a Philippine). Cecilia was a secretary for The NAACP Office. Thurgood and Cecilia

Manipulation In Jane Eyre
In Charlotte Bronte s Jane Eyre , Rochester uses disguise and duplicity to achieve his
desire of marrying Jane. By doing so; he defies state law and divine will. Consequently,
Rochester suffers physically, emotionally, and financially.
Rochester is compelled to falsehood when regarding Jane Eyre; resulting in strong
rebellion against divine law. His deliberate manipulation drastically changes the course
of the story and reveals many conflicts. These lies start at the beginning of the
Thornfield section when Rochester is a victim of a fire that occurred in his bedroom
while he was asleep (Bronte.151). Although it was clear to him that Bertha caused the
incident, he blames it on Grace Poole hoping that his chances of marrying jane would
increase if she never found out about his secretly ill wife.
Rochester s propaganda lingers throughout the rest of the Thornfield section when he
informs Jane that he is due to marry Blanche Ingrim, and that she is set for a job in
Ireland (250 251). The sole purpose of this fib was to test Janes jealousy and experiment
her reaction towards the situation; which is an evident sign of Rochester s extent of
manipulation. Her reaction leads Rochester to reveal that what he truly wants is Jane s
hand in marriage. The night before the marriage, Bertha escapes her room and rips Janes
veil in half; this event following the proposal causes Rochester to attempt to convince
Jane it is merely a dream. (Bronte.264)

Evidence Based Project Implementation Plan
Section F: Implementation Plan An implementation plan is the management guide that
helps design the necessary steps while starting a project (United States Department of
Health Human Services, n.d.). The steps of an efficient implementation plan comprise of
planning the course of action, engaging the stakeholders, carrying out the implementation
as per the planand evaluating the implementation process (Spring, Ferguson, Pender,
Starin, n.d.). So, to implement my evidence based project plan, I will follow these steps.
Setting and Access to Potential Subjects The potential subjects of this evidence based
project are the postoperative diabetic patients. The setting includes the postoperative unit,
patient s home and the surgery clinic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They need the pay for the additional time spent on making the follow up calls to the
patients every week. This will be approximately 50 dollars per hour. There is a need
for an estimated cost of 10,000 dollars to meet this requirement for about 200 patients
for the entire project period. Other than this expense, there is no other cost incurred in
the implementation plan. Diabetic patients can avail the glucometer and strips at free
of cost from their health insurance. This EBP project plan is a part of the
postoperative care. Hence, the nurses can use the hospital telephone, stationery items,
and the computer for free of cost. The hospital administration will allow the use of
power point as the purpose is to give the in service education to the nurses. The
leadership will make arrangements for the presentation development because it serves
to improve the service quality. The library and database access are free of cost for the
employees. There is no travel involved in this plan. The estimated cost to manage an SSI
can go up to 30,000 per case (Urban, 2006). Therefore, from the factors mentioned above,
it is evident that the implementation plan is
The Earth And The Stars
Throughout the history of the human species people have looked up at the stars and
wondered. Each individual culture, past and present, has stories and myths concerning
the various features of the night sky and the constantly moving celestial objects which
reside there. There are creation stories which try to explain where the Earthand the
numerous stars came from. There are other stories whcih take on a less grand task and
only try to explain a single celestial object. Some believe that the stars and the Earth are
intertwined and the motions or strange appearances of objects directly relate to what is
happening on the Earth.
There are also beliefs that the stars and night sky are the Heavens viewable from Earth,
where everything must be perfect. If things were not perfect in the Heavens, such as a
new star appearing in the sky due to a supernova occurring light years away, some
cultures would take this as a bad omen. In ancient China for example, the Emperor was
responsible for what happened on Earth as well as what happened in the Heavens, so if
a new star appeared unannounced then a competing group vying for control could use
that change to try to alter the existing balance of power. In other places such as medieval
Europe even suggesting the Heavens were not perfect could land someone under arrested
from, at the time, all powerful Catholic Church. Such was the case with Galileo after his
public support of the idea that the Earth moved around the Sun and not the other
Example Of My Greatest Achievement
Some of the greatest successes I have experienced during my school year were being
in Honor Society, being awarded a 4.0 G.P.A medal and being awarded the Spirit of
Chelan certificate. Ever since I was in elementary school I strived to be a good
student. My father was my main motivator I wanted him to feel proud of me. After my
father passed away I made him a promise to always give my best and get straight A s.
When I was awarded a 4.0 medal I felt the happiest girl alive. Not because I had gotten
good grades , but because I was keeping my dad the promise I made him . I still mark
this as the greatest success in my life. The second greatest achievement was being part
of Honor Society. Through Honor Society I was able to bond with my community and
meet various people. I was able to help in the Chelan Valley Hope and provide food and
resources to low income families. Lastly, being nominated and awarded for the Spirit of
Chelan award. Spirit of Chelan award is awarded to a person who shows outstanding
leadership. Someone who represents the Chelan Valley responsibly and respectfully.
This meant a lot to me because I felt like I was contributing to my community in a
positive way. I felt proud that all my hard work was all worth it. Some of the struggles
I experience is being able to manage my homework with helping my family financially.
Currently I struggle with managing my time efficiently. After college I go and babysit 4
kids until 10 pm. I find myself often doing my
A Report On The Hotel
As Anya was exploring the hotel she ran into her cousin Jeff, who was chatting with their
childhood friend Zeus. Unfortunately he had some information that the U.S. government
was after. Causing them to send agents after him to retrieve that information.
Zeus warned both Jeff and Anya that since they talked with him they were most likely
going to be chased also. So they all went their separate ways and went into hiding.
Anya expecting the agents to go after her and Jeff first for use as bait collected a favor
from her friend who worked at the hotel. She got an all access card and a list of unused
rooms for reference.
Anya then ordered a pizza to be delivered to room 136 at noon and went swimming an

Got that Zeus!
Zeus quickly answered, Fine, I ll tell you, but not here just please don t hurt my friends.
The two agents laughed and placed the three of them back to back between the beds. As
soon as they touched, the three went into their childhood dreamland and Zeus explained
everything to both Anya and Zeus. Along with showing them the castle and all that he
saw inside it. When Anya saw a picture of a woman who was the wife of a disowned
duke that originally owned the estate she noticed a slight similarity.
So she decided to alter her dream self to see what was the difference. She lengthened
and braided her hair and removed about 5 10 pounds. They were all amazed after the
changes and discovered that she looked exactly like the woman in the portrait. So
amazed at that fact that they jumped awake and were stunned to see that she had kept the
changes in the real world.
Anya slipped out of her ropes and untied Jeff and Zeus just before she felt the effects
of so drastic a changed hit her system. It hit her right as they were creeping out the
door, she dropped with a resounding thud to the floor and woke up the agents. Jeff and
Zeus tried to revive Anya only she didn t respond and her pulse was getting weaker. The
two managed to talk the agents into taking her to a hospital and were quickly on their
way.
Along the way Anya slightly opened her eyes
Investigating The Suitable Type Of Sampling Strategy
This essay will explain the suitable type of sampling strategy that would be used when
conducting research based upon the main characteristic being paid employment among
undergraduate students who attend Bangor University. This research proposal is
important because it looks at the motives as to why students might choose to go into
paid employment whilst at university. Some reasons undergraduate students may go into
paid employment might just be to earn some extra money, possibly for food or for
books as student finance may not give much to a student for specific reasons
surrounding their family finances. It also looks at what paid employment can do for
students, such as getting a job for confidence reasons, gaining a greater skill in... Show

Purposive sampling can be very useful for situations where you need to reach a targeted
sample quickly and where sampling for proportionality is not the main concern.
(Crossman 2015). Being as the sample size will be varied and not guaranteed, it will be
easier to find out who is in paid employment and who is not as that is the main
characteristic. This kind of sampling is mainly used in qualitative research. Yet this kind
of sampling strategy is referred to as judgement strategy as it based on the researcher
selecting objects on their own judgement.
Another kind of sampling strategy that could also be used in this type of research is
convenience sampling. Say for example there were 8,030 undergraduate students at
Bangor University, as a researcher, the aim here would be to see how many of those
were in paid employment. Each of these students were known as a unit. In order to
select a sample (n) of students from this population of 10,000 students, we could
choose to use a convenience sample. (Laerd Dissertation 2012). For this strategy we
would not be using the whole 8,030 undergraduate students, as a researcher only a
certain amount of people would be picked and by doing this basically, would be done
by inviting all undergraduate at random to a talk which would explain all what they
would be involved in. Either of these different sampling strategies could be used for this
type of research proposal as they fit the crisis needed to find what
Misfortunes In Voltaire s Candide
This essay on Candide starts with Candide in redeeming Cunegonde. She had many
misfortunes in the book, as well as Candide, and he saved her a few times. The one we
will focus on here is rescuing her in the end. Although his fair Cunegonde was now dark
skinned, eyes bloodshot, flat bosomed, cheeks wrinkled, arms red and rough, recoiled
three steps in horror, and then advanced out of good manners , Candide still embraced
her and ransomed both her and the old woman. He delivered them out of their life of
servitude and into a life they could enjoy, a better destiny. Not only was he paying off
their debt from her debtor, he was also putting right that which went wrong many years
before. Even though at the bottom of his heart, Candide had no desire to marry
Cunegonde , he was determined to marry her because of the Baron s impertinence and
Cundegonde had so urged him so that he could not say no. Here it shows... Show more

I would like to talk of Cundegondes brother the Baron. Candide killed the baron
because he could never allow his sister to marry a commoner. Miraculously the baron
survives and Candide finds him and Pangloss in a chain gang and he pays for their
freedom. After Candide reunites the Baron and his sister he tells the Baron that he will
marry her. The Baron says that he will not marry him as long as he is alive. I just can t
believe that after all that has happened to the Baron that he is so worried about his sister
marrying into the right sort of family. They are living in this fantasy world of birth
rights and high places in society, and yet they have grown old and can finally have
happiness. The Baron has an unrealistic view of a just society. Candide cannot accept
his decision and sends him back to the chain gang so that Cundegonde and the others
can have a peaceful end of their lives. Here they learn that working hard and using your
talents can help you live a happy and fulfilled

Fight Club wasn t about how you defined yourself, your job, your house, how much
money you had, your social life, or any other reason. Fight Club is literally fighting for
something real, putting everything about you aside to focus on one central goal. Two
men to a fight, one fight at a time, no shoes, no shirts, fights go on as long as they have

for everyone regardless if you were a doctor, lawyer, cashier, or business man to
escape your troubles in life, your worries, and do something real. Fight club has real
consequences, and it is a way to offer an escape from who you think you are to learn
who you really are. During Fight Club, you have a new persona, and it makes you
realize that you are unhappy with your life, and gives you a way to change it. Fight
Club does this by abandoning all social aspects, creating guided rules, and giving
people a chance to start living. However, Fight Club never solves any issues or
problems, it just gives people a way to deal with the stress of their regular life. Ever

It is almost like Fight Club was an out of body experience for the participants, and
turning them into a whole other person for the entirety of the fight. Fight Club was the

escape the consumer culture, and strike back to those who held you down. Fight Clubs

Quebec Sovereigntists Swot Analysis
This essay looks to discuss Quebec sovereigntists and federalists, and how they differ in
their understandings of Canada and Quebec. To accomplish this, the paper looks at three
points of contention; how to understand history, the nature of the Quebec state, and
recognition of Quebec. The three points of contention show where the two view diverge
and why, but the paper views these points as merely pieces of the puzzle. As such only
after looking at all three points does the paper reach a conclusion about the real
differences between the two views. The paper concludes that sovereigntists view Quebec
as distinct enfranchised nation within the confines of Canada, and while viewing Canada
as a subjugator and an enemy to Quebec. In comparison,... Show more content on

First, only the sovereigntists us Quebec`s history as a means to define Canada. Do to
the nature of their relationship, they see Canada as a force that undermines Quebec.
The federalists may agree that Canada undermined Quebec in the past, but this does
not lead them to make any decisions about the country as whole like the sovereigntists.
But this does mean that both agree about the nature of Quebec`s history. Secondly,
both want to move on from this history. But this is where differences arise. Federalists
hold that to move on from the past, Quebec must simply forget about it and instead
value progress. But to the sovereigntists it s not so simple. They view history as
creating a path for Quebec`s future, a path of subjugation by Canada. As such, the
sovereigntists search for a critical juncture to create a new path. They conclude is
sovereignty as it naturally follows from the history of Quebec. This in turn brings us to
the final comparison, the justification for sovereignty. Sovereigntists see sovereignty as
following naturally from the history of Quebec, and furthermore being justified by the
nature of the history. Federalists however do not. This is presumably due to the fact
that they do not see history as creating a path, and as such see the future as open and
free. Thus the history of Quebec causes sovereigntists to have a negative view of
Canada, create a path for Quebec, and justifying sovereignty, while federalists see the
past as not

The 75 Ball Game Overview
75 ball bingo has been around for many years, and is played worldwide, even as far afield
as North America, where it is most popular. 75 ball bingo is especially popular with
many online bingo players today. The card is a grid of 5x5, with the centre square
normally marked as Free . At the top of the bingo card the letters B.I.N.G.O. is displayed.
These letters correspond with the 5 columns that can be found on the bingo card. This
enables players to look below the letters B I N G O, to find the numbers on their cards,
as they are being announced by the caller.

the game, and the prize money. This is an easy pattern to follow, because it s the whole

Pattern Style Games
The pattern style game is probably one of the most popular variations of the 75 ball
bingo game. The whole point of this game is to mark off all the numbers in the pattern
shape, to achieve the win. Every game the pattern will change, and there are tons of
patterns, so this should keep players entertained for hours. Some patterns only need four
numbers to complete the game and this is referred to as 4 Corners Sometimes this type
of game can end quickly, but sometimes it can take a while to complete. It all depends
on how lucky your card is, and how quick the caller announces the numbers,
Instead of the random patterns being used, numbers and letters can also be used, such
like the letter L, number 10 and so on. You can view a few random patterns above. One

ABSTRACT
Background: Mobility impairments seen after Stroke impact walking speed, endurance
and balance. Almost all the individuals with Stroke have fear of fall. The physical
impairments in balance and gait along with individual s perception about his/her own
abilities to maintain balance might have an impact on level of activity and participation
in the community. The association of these variables with recovery of Stroke has been
well studied. However, it is currently unknown which of these variables are most
associated with activity and participation in the community. This study aimed to identify
the correlation of walking capacity and perception of fall with activity participation.
Methods: 30 Subjects were assessed for walking capacity (6 minute walk test) Self
efficacy for falls (Modified Falls Efficacy scale). Level of Activity Limitation (AL)
Participation Restriction (PR) was graded on validated ICF Measure of Participation and
Activities. (IMPACT S)
Results: Data was analyzed using Pearson s correlation coefficient regression model.
Walking distance and Falls efficacy is significantly correlated (r= 0.751 and 0.683,
respectively) with Participation restriction. Walking distance correlated with Activity
Limitation
Essay about Back Bay Battery
SIMULATION FOREGROUND READING
Back Bay Battery, Inc.
Overview
The battery industry is enormous, with worldwide revenues of approximately $45
billion. It is highly fragmented with at least 20 major manufacturers in each technology
segment. Because of the wide range of applications of batteries, companies have tended
to specialize in a particular technology or market application. Disposable batteries, such
as the widely available carbon zinc and alkaline cells, are available in standard sizes such
as AA, C, and D, and they are a fast moving consumer good category with emphasis on
manufacturing efficiency and scale, marketing and branding, and distribution efficiency.
One of the earliest forms of rechargeable battery was the wet ... Show more content on

and technologies. Disposable battery makers have typically not become major players in

Back Bay Battery, Inc., in 2012
Back Bay Battery is one of over 20 major manufacturers of NiMH batteries. The field is
crowded, but manufacturers have been riding rising a tide of demand from consumers
for portable electrically powered devices.
Though the technology is relatively mature, the company is anticipating continuing
strong volume growth rates, primarily due to rapid consumer adoption. The worldwide
market is projected to grow at 9.0%. Pricing pressure is significant, though, as more East
Asian competitors continue to drive commoditization of NiMH cells. Back Bay s sales
manager has learned to track the market pricing closely, as being out of step with the
market can cause dramatic market share changes in a relatively short time.
Li ion batteries have pretty much replaced NiMH in the market for laptop computer
batteries.
The first commercial Li ion battery was produced by Sony in 1991. Li ion batteries are
favored for mobile devices because they can store a high density of energy for a given
weight. They can be fabricated in many shapes,
Patient Centered Care And Patient Care
Patient Centered Care Providing patient centered care each and every time I am in the
hospital is something that I hold to a very high esteem for myself and everyone I work
with. My preceptor and I both think it is very important to treat patients like they are
our own family member or friend, so there are many examples I could give for how I
exhibited patient centered care while I completed my senior practicum on 5200/5300.
Perhaps the most memorable from my time on this floor was when I had a patient
who had been in the hospital for more than 30 days. This patient was getting restless,
had been in restraints, was unable to really communicate due to a tracheostomy, and
had also been NPO for multiple days while waiting for surgery to insert a PEG tube
and fix an elbow fracture. Although this patient was in isolation and many team
members were worn down with him constantly trying to get out of bed, I was a fresh
face and spent hours upon hours by his side trying to understand why he was acting
the way he was. The patient was starving and was in pain due to his injuries and
illness. His surgery had been postponed multiple times because of more emergent
cases and unstable labs. He wanted nothing more than food in his belly and his own
bed. Laying in a hospital bed for weeks on end can really wear a person down, and I can
only imagine how he was feeling since it was so difficult to understand what it was he
wanted. I easily could have left him alone in his room like others

Benefits Of High Quality Drinking Water
Alum doses have steadily increased and occasionally very high doses are required
during winter conditions. These high doses consume alkalinity and lower the treated
water pH. This lower pH is more aggressive in terms of its potential corrosion of metal
pipes. This lower pH is more aggressive in terms of its potential corrosion of metal pipes.
Alternate coagulant chemicals have been evaluated to ensure the provision of high
quality drinking water.
The cities of Regina and Moose Jaw forecasted water sales of 29,500 ML and 6,200 ML
respectively. Total actual water sales to the cities in 2014 were 28,374 ML to Regina and
5,362 ML to Moose Jaw. Sales to Regina decreased 3.6% from 2013, and sales to Moose

The plant management proposed to add ultraviolet disinfection to ensure the deactivation
of protozoa cysts. Improving the handling of treatment plant residuals and increasing the
clear well storage capacity were also identified among top problems to be addressed.
Other objects covered an additional screw pump; provide corrosion control and address
overall water treatment upgrades for the Plant.
The scope was reviewed to determine the most urgent items required to be included
which are also within the approved budget as both of these problem were not addressed
to in the scope of project.
An electrical master plan study was carried out and identified issues that need to be
addressed as part of the Plant upgrades. The Board developed its first comprehensive
Risk Review in 2014. There were thirty five risks identified which could impact the
Plant s ability to produce and transmit water to its customers. Of these risks, the
probability and consequence varied. The top ten risks, which range from an overall
medium to high risk rating, have been reviewed in greater detail and can be mitigated
through the operating budget, capital budget or the unfunded program of work.
After testing at bench scale and short term full plant trials, a polyaluminum chloride
coagulant was chosen for long term evaluation. This particular coagulant is not

Summary Of So Much Water So Close To Home
Intro:
Raymond Carver s hypo short story So Much Water So Close to Home was published
in 2003 set within the late American 1970 s, during the time when there was mass
hysteria of serial killings. Carver s plot used the hysteria of the 1970 s to set up the
theme of serial killings within America. Juxtaposingly, Ray Lawrenceadapted Carver s
short story in [2006] and [transformed] it into the hyper Australian gothic film Jindabyne.
Lawrence adaption of the hypotext focuses on the theme of Aboriginal treatment and the
beliefs of the aboriginal treatment. The benefits of adaptation studies lies within their
ability to highlight changing societal ideas, attitudes and values.
Context:
Raymond Carver s hypo short story So Much Water So Close to Home was made in
2003 set within the late American 1970 s, during the time when there was mass
hysteria of serial killings. By the lack of detail and the objective narration of Claire s
emotions within the story, Carver s short story had delved into the reader s mind and
effectively positioned the reader to create the tension and suspense from the reader s
own interpretation of the text. Carver s lack of detail lures the reader into asking
questions that can never be answered, such as who was the killer? Why did Stuart go
far away to fish? The lack of of detail tempting the reader to ask questions plus the
disconnection of Claire s emotions allows the story to build suspense as well as have a
unique disjointed atmosphere to the story.
The Effects Of Personal Attachment Style On Romantic...
The Effects of Personal Attachment Style on Romantic Relationship Satisfaction
Our earliest relationships in life can be deeply formative in shaping our development.
Created by John Bowlby, attachment theory relates the importance of attachment in
regards to personal development. According to Bowlby, attachment is the leading
factor in our ability to form and maintain relationships as adults (Levy 2012, pg. 157).
As human beings, we need to feel as if we belong (Cherry, 2016). We find this
belongingness in our relationships and attachments. However, we differ in our ability to
form such relationships. Some people may find creating relationships with people to be
a fairly simple while others find relationships to be difficult or even anxiety producing.
Though we each feel a need to belong, we differ in this ability. Some people struggle in
relationships and other find anything relating to relationships to be simple. These
differences in how we maintain and create relationships may be due to our early life
experiences. Research on attachment theory suggests that our early life relationships may
be responsible, at least in part, for these differences in adult relationships (Fraley, 2010).
Data proves that these different attachment styles have different effects on how an
individual deals with relationships. Previous research has dialed in on different
attachment styles and their effect on how one views their self worth. However, research
has failed to investigate relationship
The Effect Of Optical Fiber On The Growth Of The Economy...
German market has always been a trend setter when it about telecoms. Since the first
commercial introduction in the 1980s, optical fiber innovation has experienced a
practically significant growth and since more than 30 years, the increased research,
technology development and commercialization of optical fibercombined with their
continuously growing technical applications have been become a success story of optical
fiber in Germany. In addition, Independent research has proven that investments in future
proof infrastructure have a significant positive influence on the growth of the economy of
Germany. During most recent 10 years, Germany has put over €80 billion in
telecommunications infrastructure, yet to the extent ultra fast broadband accessibility is
concerned, the nation is still a sleeping giant. However, Interests in future proof
infrastructure won t just help Germany to become out of the present crisis, the slipstream
will likewise help other EU nations whose economies are mostly reliant on the German
economy. INTRODUCTION
The application of optical fiber is increasing rapidly in telecommunication and CATV
subscriber network and the mass deployment of fiber in the loop (FITL) has begun in
Germany. The promising cost effective topology has been generally considered and
picked is the passive optical network (PON). The most aggressive movement in
Germany happened during early 1990, long rang plans were made for wide scale
Thin Layer Chromatography Lab Report
Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) is an extremely useful technique for monitoring
reactions. It is also used to determine the proper solvent system for performing
separations using column chromatography. TLC uses a stationary phase, usually
alumina or silica, that is highly polar (standard) or non polar (reverse phase), and a
mobile phase, some solvent whose polarity you will choose. In 5.301, and in most lab
applications, you will use standard phase silica plates. You will apply your reaction
mixture in solution to the plate then run the plate by allowing a solvent (or combination
of solvents) to move up the plate by capillary action. Depending on the polarity of the
components of the mixture, different compounds will travel different distances up the
plate. More polar compounds will stick to the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
3) Fill TLC chamber with 1 2 mL of the desired solvent system. Place a large piece of
cut filter paper in the chamber as well. 4) Spot the compound on the baseline of the
TLC plate. We will use commercial spotters, but spotters can be pulled from hot
Pasteur pipets you may see this in your UROP. If you are monitoring a reaction, make
sure to spot the starting material, the reaction mixture, and a co spot of both. 5) Run the
TLC. Let the solvent go about 90% of the way up the plate. 6) Remove the plate from
the chamber and mark the solvent front immediately with a pencil you will use this to
calculate the Rf. 7) Let the solvent dry off of the

Changing technology may affect the demand for a firm s products and services but on
the other hand due to technology businesses can have systems that provides faster
services like the retail businesses have systems that does stock control, cash and
customer service. Legal factor In a situation where for example a government creates a
new law which could limit the demand for your product like the banning of smoking,
this can seriously affect the growth of the company. The legal dimension of the general
environment can impact the business operation, for example if a government
introduces the law of increasing the minimum wage this can lead to an increase in the
business expenses as it will obliged to pay more to the employees. But on the hand
sometimes a government can introduce laws that can be favourable to the business
environment for example low taxes for foreign investors, like apple, Google, Amazon
and Starbucks all these are big companies that pay less tax here in the UK. Population
demographics Changes in the population has many consequences for the business
operation. As the total of the population changes the demand for products and services
also changes for example the increase in the UK population has contributed to the
demand of the NHS services and has put a strain on
What Are The Reasons For Informalisation
Reasons for Formation of Informal Sector
1.)Informalisation is correlated to income and development i.e. Impacts of globalisation
on trade openings and employment generation.
From the advent of neo liberalization, trade opening became a common phenomenon
across countries. This meant that the goods produced in the country could be exported
and the producers could earn greater profits. However, at the same time there is a large
influx of goods from other countries. In order to keep pace with the growing
competition, more goods had to be exported rather than imported. Cheap labour and
technology hence became the most sought after solution for producing large amount of
goods at a cheaper and faster pace. Large firms, in order to maximize their profits, started
hiring labourers on contractual basis. This had two impacts:
Firstly, a large ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though people are now being employed, it doesn t contribute to the GDP since this
sector is a grey/shadow sector.
Apart from this, there are several other reasons for informalisation such as:
2.)Governance and regulatory burdens
Another major reason for informality is the governance and the regulatory structure.
According to De Soto, burdensome regulations thwart the efforts of small entrepreneurs
and thus force them to stay in shadow. Interaction of governance with regulations also
leads to informality.
Regulation structure which includes high taxation, lack of pension plan, social security,
MMIC based measure coupled with other social factors like level of schooling, share of
youth, share of rural population and share of agriculture in GDP, encourages people to
remain in the informal sector. Also government indicators such as presence of
corruption, weak rule of law and poor level of democracy also cause informality.
3.)People s perception about the use of the taxes to provide
Modern Day Methods Of Contracting
Abstract
This paper breaks down and defines what SIV is, the different subfields involved, and
which species they originate from. The zoonotic transmission of the SIV virus from these
non human primates is discussed as well. As a result of these transmissions, the human
immunodeficiency virus is brought to life. In this paper, this virus and its journey
throughout history will be explained. Also, HIV and the different subfields this virus can
be classified in are discussed throughout the research. As well as the where this virus was
contracted, about the time when, and how it was possible. Also, the modern day methods
of contracting this virus are listed in detail throughout the paper. The process of
contraction of HIV through zoonotic transmissions is elaborated. An estimate on just
how many of these animal to human transmissions that happened leading to HIV/AIDS is
given. Lastly, the causes of how this virus was spread globally are broken down and
explained each step of the way. This paper uses scholarly journals as references from a
few different sources, including: Proquest, Academic OneFile, and Google Scholar.

  • 2. Summer Descriptive Writing It all began with a simple phone call one night around two in the morning. I glanced down at my phone, the name Summer illuminating the screen. As I hesitated to answer the phone, I thought of the nice quiet evening at home, I would have if I rejected the call. I could sleep, and not have another stupid adventure with Thirty minutes, however Summer s burnt orange 1968 VW bug rumbled into my driveway, and she was leaning on the horn before the car came to a full stop. Grabbing my coat from the couch, I walked out my front door with all the enthusiasm of a man going to stand before a firing squad. Summer! I yelled with a hint of nervousness as I glanced around the parking lot Receiving no response I quickly climbed back into ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I shut the car off, and climbed out of the car, waiting for Summer to follow. I saw her stretching out of the corner of my eye, her black curls bouncing with her every movement. I waited for her to finish, then led the way toward the entrance of the diner, peering through the door I could see the faint illumination of the lights. A dimly lit fluorescent sign informed me that they were in fact open, even at 3 in the morning. After you I whispered, holding the door I followed summer into the diner, and glanced at a sign that read Please Seat Yourself. Summer lead the way to a booth located near the window, where she practically fell into the seat. I slid into the seat across from her. The waitress clad in a very vintage pink uniform circa 1960 s, slowly made her way to our table, her name tag read Cindy. Her hair was a box dye auburn, face clad with gaudy makeup, including a red lipstick that aged her immensely. Hello ladies, you re here quite late, or early I suppose. What can I get you to drink? she asked in a monotone voice Coffee. Summer and I both said in unison, glancing at each other across the
  • 3. Similarities Between Animal Farm And Animal Farm Two visions; Different Results In George Orwell s novel Animal Farm he asserts that following blindly , will lead to government abuse and corruption. Orwell s assertion brings life to the philosophy that a utopian atmosphere can never exist. Orwell s purpose is to deliver the idea of communism not being successful and to make the audience reading not want to get into communism. George Orwell informs the young audience of the danger with communism. Orwell was a very cynical individual when it came to writing Animal Farm . There were many similarities and differences between Martin Luther King Jr. and the character, Old Major in Animal Farm. One similar political equality between the two figures is they both had a vision or dream of inspiring the masses of people to dream of a better future. between two groups of people. Despite having so many similarities between the two there are also several differences as well. Such as, the animals had different rights to fight for, for example, the animals were being overworked by Mr. Jones and they were not receiving enough food. On the other side, the blacks, during the Martin Luther King Jr. time period, were not able to go in the same bathroom as whites. The Blacks had restrictions to their rights in the idea of not being able to pursue certain circumstances as the whites did. The historical figure Martin Luther King Jr. had many similarities and differences with the character in Animal Farm, Old Major. Both individuals had visions of rebellion but Martin Luther had the mentality of peaceful rebellion, while olf major wanted violence. The significant events between Martin Luther King Jr. and Old Major was the Beasts of England speech and the I have a Dream speech. Old Major used Beasts of England to show the animals his vision or dream for the farm. Also, Martin Luther King Jr. used I have a Dream to bring light to the idea of black rights. Old Major and Martin Luther King Jr. both had both a goal in their mind for what they want there atmosphere to be. In Animal Farm, the speech Beasts of England was used and it said Beasts of England, Beasts of England, Beasts of every land and clime, hearken to my joyful tidings (orwell 12) The quotes from the

Thurgood Marshall Essay Thurgood Marshall During the 20th century I have read many books, newspaper articles and seen news broadcasts on two of the most famous Afro American Pioneers: Martin Luther King and Thurgood Marshall. Martin Luther King fought all his life for equal rights for Afro Americans, but Thurgood Marshall help elevate the Afro American civil rights struggles through legal precedents and timely court decisions. Thomas G. Kraftenmaker a professor of Constitutional law at Georgetown University Law Center wrote, When I think of great American lawyers I think of Thurgood Marshall, Abe Lincoln and Daniel Webster . In this century only Earl Warren approaches Marshall. Thurgood Marshall is certainly the most important lawyer of the 20th century.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Today most Afro Americans don t realize how important a role Thurgood played in shaping the legal precedents for school segregation. Thurgood hated the ideal of our young and proud Afro Americans boys and girls having to travel outside their school districts just to attend colored schools, because their local elementary and high schools were not segregated. . Thurgood fought hard and vigorously to bring about a change in elementary and high school segregation. In 1954 Thurgood conquers a big milestone in winning his famous case Brown v. The Board of Education, of Topeka Kansas. The United States Supreme Court ruled that all elementary and high schools will be segregated. From 1940 1960s Thurgood s name became a main stayed within the Afro American Communities. Afro Americans from many cities would call upon Thurgood for his services. Thurgood would work for free, just to help and defend his people. Then in February 1955 Thurgood s wife Vivan became very ill from cancer, and she eventually died. Thurgood was so saddened that he remained single for two years. Thurgood then met and eventually married his second wife Cecilia Suyat. (Born as a Philippine). Cecilia was a secretary for The NAACP Office. Thurgood and Cecilia had two sons: Thomas Jr. and John. Thurgood s biggest
  • 5. Manipulation In Jane Eyre In Charlotte Bronte s Jane Eyre , Rochester uses disguise and duplicity to achieve his desire of marrying Jane. By doing so; he defies state law and divine will. Consequently, Rochester suffers physically, emotionally, and financially. Rochester is compelled to falsehood when regarding Jane Eyre; resulting in strong rebellion against divine law. His deliberate manipulation drastically changes the course of the story and reveals many conflicts. These lies start at the beginning of the Thornfield section when Rochester is a victim of a fire that occurred in his bedroom while he was asleep (Bronte.151). Although it was clear to him that Bertha caused the incident, he blames it on Grace Poole hoping that his chances of marrying jane would increase if she never found out about his secretly ill wife. Rochester s propaganda lingers throughout the rest of the Thornfield section when he informs Jane that he is due to marry Blanche Ingrim, and that she is set for a job in Ireland (250 251). The sole purpose of this fib was to test Janes jealousy and experiment her reaction towards the situation; which is an evident sign of Rochester s extent of manipulation. Her reaction leads Rochester to reveal that what he truly wants is Jane s hand in marriage. The night before the marriage, Bertha escapes her room and rips Janes veil in half; this event following the proposal causes Rochester to attempt to convince Jane it is merely a dream. (Bronte.264) Rochester tries to exploit Jane to

Evidence Based Project Implementation Plan Section F: Implementation Plan An implementation plan is the management guide that helps design the necessary steps while starting a project (United States Department of Health Human Services, n.d.). The steps of an efficient implementation plan comprise of planning the course of action, engaging the stakeholders, carrying out the implementation as per the planand evaluating the implementation process (Spring, Ferguson, Pender, Starin, n.d.). So, to implement my evidence based project plan, I will follow these steps. Setting and Access to Potential Subjects The potential subjects of this evidence based project are the postoperative diabetic patients. The setting includes the postoperative unit, patient s home and the surgery clinic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They need the pay for the additional time spent on making the follow up calls to the patients every week. This will be approximately 50 dollars per hour. There is a need for an estimated cost of 10,000 dollars to meet this requirement for about 200 patients for the entire project period. Other than this expense, there is no other cost incurred in the implementation plan. Diabetic patients can avail the glucometer and strips at free of cost from their health insurance. This EBP project plan is a part of the postoperative care. Hence, the nurses can use the hospital telephone, stationery items, and the computer for free of cost. The hospital administration will allow the use of power point as the purpose is to give the in service education to the nurses. The leadership will make arrangements for the presentation development because it serves to improve the service quality. The library and database access are free of cost for the employees. There is no travel involved in this plan. The estimated cost to manage an SSI can go up to 30,000 per case (Urban, 2006). Therefore, from the factors mentioned above, it is evident that the implementation plan is
  • 7. The Earth And The Stars Throughout the history of the human species people have looked up at the stars and wondered. Each individual culture, past and present, has stories and myths concerning the various features of the night sky and the constantly moving celestial objects which reside there. There are creation stories which try to explain where the Earthand the numerous stars came from. There are other stories whcih take on a less grand task and only try to explain a single celestial object. Some believe that the stars and the Earth are intertwined and the motions or strange appearances of objects directly relate to what is happening on the Earth. There are also beliefs that the stars and night sky are the Heavens viewable from Earth, where everything must be perfect. If things were not perfect in the Heavens, such as a new star appearing in the sky due to a supernova occurring light years away, some cultures would take this as a bad omen. In ancient China for example, the Emperor was responsible for what happened on Earth as well as what happened in the Heavens, so if a new star appeared unannounced then a competing group vying for control could use that change to try to alter the existing balance of power. In other places such as medieval Europe even suggesting the Heavens were not perfect could land someone under arrested from, at the time, all powerful Catholic Church. Such was the case with Galileo after his public support of the idea that the Earth moved around the Sun and not the other

Example Of My Greatest Achievement Some of the greatest successes I have experienced during my school year were being in Honor Society, being awarded a 4.0 G.P.A medal and being awarded the Spirit of Chelan certificate. Ever since I was in elementary school I strived to be a good student. My father was my main motivator I wanted him to feel proud of me. After my father passed away I made him a promise to always give my best and get straight A s. When I was awarded a 4.0 medal I felt the happiest girl alive. Not because I had gotten good grades , but because I was keeping my dad the promise I made him . I still mark this as the greatest success in my life. The second greatest achievement was being part of Honor Society. Through Honor Society I was able to bond with my community and meet various people. I was able to help in the Chelan Valley Hope and provide food and resources to low income families. Lastly, being nominated and awarded for the Spirit of Chelan award. Spirit of Chelan award is awarded to a person who shows outstanding leadership. Someone who represents the Chelan Valley responsibly and respectfully. This meant a lot to me because I felt like I was contributing to my community in a positive way. I felt proud that all my hard work was all worth it. Some of the struggles I experience is being able to manage my homework with helping my family financially. Currently I struggle with managing my time efficiently. After college I go and babysit 4 kids until 10 pm. I find myself often doing my

Unfortunately he had some information that the U.S. government was after. Causing them to send agents after him to retrieve that information. Zeus warned both Jeff and Anya that since they talked with him they were most likely going to be chased also. So they all went their separate ways and went into hiding. Anya expecting the agents to go after her and Jeff first for use as bait collected a favor from her friend who worked at the hotel. When Anya saw a picture of a woman who was the wife of a disowned duke that originally owned the estate she noticed a slight similarity. So she decided to alter her dream self to see what was the difference. She lengthened and braided her hair and removed about 5 10 pounds. They were all amazed after the changes and discovered that she looked exactly like the woman in the portrait. So amazed at that fact that they jumped awake and were stunned to see that she had kept the changes in the real world. Anya slipped out of her ropes and untied Jeff and Zeus just before she felt the effects of so drastic a changed hit her system. It hit her right as they were creeping out the door, she dropped with a resounding thud to the floor and woke up the agents. Jeff and Zeus tried to revive Anya only she didn t respond and her pulse was getting weaker. The two managed to talk the agents into taking her to a hospital and were quickly on their way. Along the way Anya slightly opened her eyes
  • 10. Investigating The Suitable Type Of Sampling Strategy This essay will explain the suitable type of sampling strategy that would be used when conducting research based upon the main characteristic being paid employment among undergraduate students who attend Bangor University. This research proposal is important because it looks at the motives as to why students might choose to go into paid employment whilst at university. Some reasons undergraduate students may go into paid employment might just be to earn some extra money, possibly for food or for books as student finance may not give much to a student for specific reasons surrounding their family finances. It also looks at what paid employment can do for students, such as getting a job for confidence reasons, gaining a greater skill in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Purposive sampling can be very useful for situations where you need to reach a targeted sample quickly and where sampling for proportionality is not the main concern. (Crossman 2015). Being as the sample size will be varied and not guaranteed, it will be easier to find out who is in paid employment and who is not as that is the main characteristic. This kind of sampling is mainly used in qualitative research. Yet this kind of sampling strategy is referred to as judgement strategy as it based on the researcher selecting objects on their own judgement. Another kind of sampling strategy that could also be used in this type of research is convenience sampling. Say for example there were 8,030 undergraduate students at Bangor University, as a researcher, the aim here would be to see how many of those were in paid employment. Each of these students were known as a unit. In order to select a sample (n) of students from this population of 10,000 students, we could choose to use a convenience sample. (Laerd Dissertation 2012). For this strategy we would not be using the whole 8,030 undergraduate students, as a researcher only a certain amount of people would be picked and by doing this basically, would be done by inviting all undergraduate at random to a talk which would explain all what they would be involved in. Either of these different sampling strategies could be used for this type of research proposal as they fit the crisis needed to find what
  • 11. Misfortunes In Voltaire s Candide This essay on Candide starts with Candide in redeeming Cunegonde. She had many misfortunes in the book, as well as Candide, and he saved her a few times. The one we will focus on here is rescuing her in the end. Although his fair Cunegonde was now dark skinned, eyes bloodshot, flat bosomed, cheeks wrinkled, arms red and rough, recoiled three steps in horror, and then advanced out of good manners , Candide still embraced her and ransomed both her and the old woman. He delivered them out of their life of servitude and into a life they could enjoy, a better destiny. Not only was he paying off their debt from her debtor, he was also putting right that which went wrong many years before. Even though at the bottom of his heart, Candide had no desire to marry Cunegonde , he was determined to marry her because of the Baron s impertinence and Cundegonde had so urged him so that he could not say no. Here it shows... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I would like to talk of Cundegondes brother the Baron. Candide killed the baron because he could never allow his sister to marry a commoner. Miraculously the baron survives and Candide finds him and Pangloss in a chain gang and he pays for their freedom. After Candide reunites the Baron and his sister he tells the Baron that he will marry her. The Baron says that he will not marry him as long as he is alive. I just can t believe that after all that has happened to the Baron that he is so worried about his sister marrying into the right sort of family. They are living in this fantasy world of birth rights and high places in society, and yet they have grown old and can finally have happiness. The Baron has an unrealistic view of a just society. Candide cannot accept his decision and sends him back to the chain gang so that Cundegonde and the others can have a peaceful end of their lives. Here they learn that working hard and using your talents can help you live a happy and fulfilled

  • 13. Quebec Sovereigntists Swot Analysis This essay looks to discuss Quebec sovereigntists and federalists, and how they differ in their understandings of Canada and Quebec. To accomplish this, the paper looks at three points of contention; how to understand history, the nature of the Quebec state, and recognition of Quebec. The three points of contention show where the two view diverge and why, but the paper views these points as merely pieces of the puzzle. As such only after looking at all three points does the paper reach a conclusion about the real differences between the two views. The paper concludes that sovereigntists view Quebec as distinct enfranchised nation within the confines of Canada, and while viewing Canada as a subjugator and an enemy to Quebec. In comparison,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First, only the sovereigntists us Quebec`s history as a means to define Canada. Do to the nature of their relationship, they see Canada as a force that undermines Quebec. The federalists may agree that Canada undermined Quebec in the past, but this does not lead them to make any decisions about the country as whole like the sovereigntists. But this does mean that both agree about the nature of Quebec`s history. Secondly, both want to move on from this history. But this is where differences arise. Federalists hold that to move on from the past, Quebec must simply forget about it and instead value progress. But to the sovereigntists it s not so simple. They view history as creating a path for Quebec`s future, a path of subjugation by Canada. As such, the sovereigntists search for a critical juncture to create a new path. They conclude is sovereignty as it naturally follows from the history of Quebec. This in turn brings us to the final comparison, the justification for sovereignty. Sovereigntists see sovereignty as following naturally from the history of Quebec, and furthermore being justified by the nature of the history. Federalists however do not. This is presumably due to the fact that they do not see history as creating a path, and as such see the future as open and free. Thus the history of Quebec causes sovereigntists to have a negative view of Canada, create a path for Quebec, and justifying sovereignty, while federalists see the past as not

The card is a grid of 5x5, with the centre square normally marked as Free . At the top of the bingo card the letters B.I.N.G.O. is displayed. These letters correspond with the 5 columns that can be found on the bingo card. This enables players to look below the letters B I N G O, to find the numbers on their cards, as they are being announced by the caller. Exciting Patterns There is an abundance of patterns that can be played in 75 ball bingo, from a single line through to a coverall ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So, basically it means that the first person to complete the 24 numbers on their card wins the game, and the prize money. This is an easy pattern to follow, because it s the whole card that needs filled, and there is no pattern to follow. Pattern Style Games The pattern style game is probably one of the most popular variations of the 75 ball bingo game. The whole point of this game is to mark off all the numbers in the pattern shape, to achieve the win. Every game the pattern will change, and there are tons of patterns, so this should keep players entertained for hours. Some patterns only need four numbers to complete the game and this is referred to as 4 Corners Sometimes this type of game can end quickly, but sometimes it can take a while to complete. It all depends on how lucky your card is, and how quick the caller announces the numbers, Instead of the random patterns being used, numbers and letters can also be used, such like the letter L, number 10 and so on. You can view a few random patterns above. One letter, one number, four corners and the cross pattern

Int J Physiother 2015; 2(1) Page | 311 1Ms. Neelam Nayak 2Pranali Mahajan CORRESPONDING AUTHOR 1Ms. Neelam Nayak Lecturer, MGM College of Physiotherapy, Navi Mumbai, India. Int J Physiother. Vol 2(1), 311 316, February (2015) ISSN: 2348 8336 ABSTRACT Background: Mobility impairments seen after Stroke impact walking speed, endurance and balance. Almost all the individuals with Stroke have fear of fall. The physical impairments in balance and gait along with individual s perception about his/her own abilities to maintain balance might have an impact on level of activity and participation in the community. The association of these variables with recovery of Stroke has been well studied. However, it is currently unknown which of these variables are most associated with activity and participation in the community. This study aimed to identify the correlation of walking capacity and perception of fall with activity participation. Methods: 30 Subjects were assessed for walking capacity (6 minute walk test) Self efficacy for falls (Modified Falls Efficacy scale). Level of Activity Limitation (AL) Participation Restriction (PR) was graded on validated ICF Measure of Participation and Activities. (IMPACT S) Results: Data was analyzed using Pearson s correlation coefficient regression model. Walking distance and Falls efficacy is significantly correlated (r= 0.751 and 0.683, respectively) with Participation restriction. Walking distance correlated with Activity Limitation

It is highly fragmented with at least 20 major manufacturers in each technology segment. Because of the wide range of applications of batteries, companies have tended to specialize in a particular technology or market application. Disposable batteries, such as the widely available carbon zinc and alkaline cells, are available in standard sizes such as AA, C, and D, and they are a fast moving consumer good category with emphasis on manufacturing efficiency and scale, marketing and branding, and distribution efficiency. One of the earliest forms of rechargeable battery was the wet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Interestingly, battery makers have tended to focus in relatively narrow product segments and technologies. Disposable battery makers have typically not become major players in rechargeables, and rechargeable battery manufacturers tended to stick with a particular technology or product focus (laptop computers, mobile phones, portable power tools, etc.) Back Bay Battery, Inc., in 2012 Back Bay Battery is one of over 20 major manufacturers of NiMH batteries. The field is crowded, but manufacturers have been riding rising a tide of demand from consumers for portable electrically powered devices. Though the technology is relatively mature, the company is anticipating continuing strong volume growth rates, primarily due to rapid consumer adoption. The worldwide market is projected to grow at 9.0%. Pricing pressure is significant, though, as more East Asian competitors continue to drive commoditization of NiMH cells. Back Bay s sales manager has learned to track the market pricing closely, as being out of step with the market can cause dramatic market share changes in a relatively short time. Li ion batteries have pretty much replaced NiMH in the market for laptop computer batteries. The first commercial Li ion battery was produced by Sony in 1991. Li ion batteries are favored for mobile devices because they can store a high density of energy for a given weight. They can be fabricated in many shapes,

Patient Centered Care And Patient Care Patient Centered Care Providing patient centered care each and every time I am in the hospital is something that I hold to a very high esteem for myself and everyone I work with. My preceptor and I both think it is very important to treat patients like they are our own family member or friend, so there are many examples I could give for how I exhibited patient centered care while I completed my senior practicum on 5200/5300. Perhaps the most memorable from my time on this floor was when I had a patient who had been in the hospital for more than 30 days. This patient was getting restless, had been in restraints, was unable to really communicate due to a tracheostomy, and had also been NPO for multiple days while waiting for surgery to insert a PEG tube and fix an elbow fracture. Although this patient was in isolation and many team members were worn down with him constantly trying to get out of bed, I was a fresh face and spent hours upon hours by his side trying to understand why he was acting the way he was. The patient was starving and was in pain due to his injuries and illness. His surgery had been postponed multiple times because of more emergent cases and unstable labs. He wanted nothing more than food in his belly and his own bed. Laying in a hospital bed for weeks on end can really wear a person down, and I can only imagine how he was feeling since it was so difficult to understand what it was he wanted. I easily could have left him alone in his room like others

Context: Raymond Carver s hypo short story So Much Water So Close to Home was made in 2003 set within the late American 1970 s, during the time when there was mass hysteria of serial killings. By the lack of detail and the objective narration of Claire s emotions within the story, Carver s short story had delved into the reader s mind and effectively positioned the reader to create the tension and suspense from the reader s own interpretation of the text. Carver s lack of detail lures the reader into asking questions that can never be answered, such as who was the killer? Why did Stuart go far away to fish? The lack of of detail tempting the reader to ask questions plus the disconnection of Claire s emotions allows the story to build suspense as well as have a unique disjointed atmosphere to the story.

The Effects of Personal Attachment Style on Romantic Relationship Satisfaction Our earliest relationships in life can be deeply formative in shaping our development. Created by John Bowlby, attachment theory relates the importance of attachment in regards to personal development. According to Bowlby, attachment is the leading factor in our ability to form and maintain relationships as adults (Levy 2012, pg. 157). As human beings, we need to feel as if we belong (Cherry, 2016). We find this belongingness in our relationships and attachments. However, we differ in our ability to form such relationships. Some people may find creating relationships with people to be a fairly simple while others find relationships to be difficult or even anxiety producing. Though we each feel a need to belong, we differ in this ability. Some people struggle in relationships and other find anything relating to relationships to be simple. These differences in how we maintain and create relationships may be due to our early life experiences. Research on attachment theory suggests that our early life relationships may be responsible, at least in part, for these differences in adult relationships (Fraley, 2010). Data proves that these different attachment styles have different effects on how an individual deals with relationships. Previous research has dialed in on different attachment styles and their effect on how one views their self worth. However, research has failed to investigate relationship

Since the first commercial introduction in the 1980s, optical fiber innovation has experienced a practically significant growth and since more than 30 years, the increased research, technology development and commercialization of optical fibercombined with their continuously growing technical applications have been become a success story of optical fiber in Germany. In addition, Independent research has proven that investments in future proof infrastructure have a significant positive influence on the growth of the economy of Germany. During most recent 10 years, Germany has put over €80 billion in telecommunications infrastructure, yet to the extent ultra fast broadband accessibility is concerned, the nation is still a sleeping giant. However, Interests in future proof infrastructure won t just help Germany to become out of the present crisis, the slipstream will likewise help other EU nations whose economies are mostly reliant on the German economy. INTRODUCTION The application of optical fiber is increasing rapidly in telecommunication and CATV subscriber network and the mass deployment of fiber in the loop (FITL) has begun in Germany. The promising cost effective topology has been generally considered and picked is the passive optical network (PON). The most aggressive movement in Germany happened during early 1990, long rang plans were made for wide scale
  • 24. Thin Layer Chromatography Lab Report Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) is an extremely useful technique for monitoring reactions. It is also used to determine the proper solvent system for performing separations using column chromatography. TLC uses a stationary phase, usually alumina or silica, that is highly polar (standard) or non polar (reverse phase), and a mobile phase, some solvent whose polarity you will choose. In 5.301, and in most lab applications, you will use standard phase silica plates. You will apply your reaction mixture in solution to the plate then run the plate by allowing a solvent (or combination of solvents) to move up the plate by capillary action. Depending on the polarity of the components of the mixture, different compounds will travel different distances up the plate. More polar compounds will stick to the... • 27. What Are The Reasons For Informalisation Reasons for Formation of Informal Sector 1.)Informalisation is correlated to income and development i.e. Impacts of globalisation on trade openings and employment generation. From the advent of neo liberalization, trade opening became a common phenomenon across countries. This meant that the goods produced in the country could be exported and the producers could earn greater profits. However, at the same time there is a large influx of goods from other countries. In order to keep pace with the growing competition, more goods had to be exported rather than imported. Cheap labour and technology hence became the most sought after solution for producing large amount of goods at a cheaper and faster pace. Large firms, in order to maximize their profits, started hiring labourers on contractual basis. This had two impacts: Firstly, a large ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Though people are now being employed, it doesn t contribute to the GDP since this sector is a grey/shadow sector. Apart from this, there are several other reasons for informalisation such as: 2.)Governance and regulatory burdens Another major reason for informality is the governance and the regulatory structure. According to De Soto, burdensome regulations thwart the efforts of small entrepreneurs and thus force them to stay in shadow. Interaction of governance with regulations also leads to informality. Regulation structure which includes high taxation, lack of pension plan, social security, MMIC based measure coupled with other social factors like level of schooling, share of youth, share of rural population and share of agriculture in GDP, encourages people to remain in the informal sector. Also government indicators such as presence of corruption, weak rule of law and poor level of democracy also cause informality. 3.)People s perception about the use of the taxes to provide

The zoonotic transmission of the SIV virus from these non human primates is discussed as well. As a result of these transmissions, the human immunodeficiency virus is brought to life. In this paper, this virus and its journey throughout history will be explained. Also, HIV and the different subfields this virus can be classified in are discussed throughout the research. As well as the where this virus was contracted, about the time when, and how it was possible. Also, the modern day methods of contracting this virus are listed in detail throughout the paper. The process of contraction of HIV through zoonotic transmissions is elaborated. An estimate on just how many of these animal to human transmissions that happened leading to HIV/AIDS is given. Lastly, the causes of how this virus was spread globally are broken down and explained each step of the way.
