Analysis Of Woman Holding A Balance
Exploring Depth with Vermeer Woman Holding a Balance is a Northern European piece of art
painted by Johannes Vermeer between the dates of 1662 and1665. This painting was created out
of oils. This fascinating piece of art uses light and color to depict its depth and space. Woman
Holding a Balance has so much to interpret as far as depth and space through the form and
structure of the artwork. This piece of art is formed from blue, gray, white, and yellow colors
giving it a harmonious act to it. Vermeer created this piece of art as a woman holding a balance
with her right hand. As we analyze this painting starting off from the top left portion, there is a
window with light entering the space to which this woman is in. The window is covered by a
yellow curtain. Next to the window is a dark, framed mirror, which is close to a black color.
Underneath the mirror, Vermeer painted a table with gray and yellowish pearls laid down over
it. There is also a dark blue piece of cloth resting on the top left portion of the table. Right in front
of the table we have the woman holding the scale, and she is wearing a blue and white jacket with
a hoodie that gently falls over to the sides of her head. In addition, on the far back part of the
painting, right behind the woman, Vermeer painted The Last Judgment. The Last Judgement shows
Christ with his arms extended on judgment daywith people looking up at him from beneath. All this,
as far as the window, table, pearls, woman,

Time Machine Hg Wells
The Time Machine by H. G. Wells
Herbert George Wells was born an English writer in Bromley, Kent, England in 1866. After he
attended school his early years he was educated at Midhurst Grammar School and soon after he
attended the School of Science in London. Once there he studied biology, which could be one
reason why he started to write science fiction novels such as, The Time Machine. Around the time
he wrote this work, there was a huge shift of technological breakthroughs that would have
influenced his writing also. At that time, from his schooling at the School of Science in London,
he would have been exposed to the works of Jules Verne, (20,000 Leagues under the sea), T. H.

He sees Wenna being attacked and he saves her and takes refuge in the Palace of Green porcelain.
This Palace is a museum, that has little upkeep but he manages to scare off the Morlocks in the
woods because of a fire he made but Weena is killed in the aftermath.
The Time Machine makes one think that most theories of the far future are of an advanced
society that has advanced technology with no fear of health problems. But this book allows a
new glimpse of what can become of such advancements where the existence of humankind could
almost have a circular pattern of events. The author shows the readers that their may be a certain
cliff were all of society starts over which apparently has happened with the Eloi and Morlocks.
One example of this was in the world of the Eloi the museums were all in ruins, where they didn t
seem to take much notice of how they came to be or on preserving their history.
In an article on the theme of the time machine, they believe there is a constant class struggle that
is continuous through time but in time it leads to communism. But then they come to think that
society will just become one that is composed of have and have nots. Even in the names of the two
species we can notice discrepancies. The word Eloi itself sounds like the word elite, describing a
rich, elite being, while Morlocks is a seemingly perfect word to describe a brutish, ape like

Gardasil Research Paper
Summary
The research questions are why is Gardasil such a controversial topic and why can t the debate on
if Gardasil is safe, on what age it should be given, and how successful it would be when
administered be settled? The research was conducted to answer these questions because Merck, the
maker of Gardasil, presented this vaccine as the first vaccine to prevent HPV and cervical cancer in
girls but there was no real solid proof that the vaccine was successful since Merck and the FDA
(Food and Drug Administration) approved the vaccine a year before the results/data on the vaccine
s safety and efficacy became available. Likewise, researchers were trying to learn if Merck s claims
of one less life being affected by cervical cancer with their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

I feel like the article should have talked about both sides of the debate because, despite people s
personal beliefs/feelings on Gardasil, the vaccine does work, just not on everything that the
company is advertising that it does. It does not prevent cervical cancer mainly because with the
way the lesions of cervical cancer are (CIN 1 3) the lesions hardly ever develop into the other two
lesions known as CIN 2 and CIN 3. This article was completely against the vaccine but it
provided plenty of proof and detail to back up why Gardasil should not be required, especially
because research has proven that a pap smear can do more for women when it comes to cervical
cancer than Gardasil can. I like the article overall, and it helped me understand a little more of
what Gardasil can or cannot do. However, I feel like the article could ve been dumbed down
some just because I never even heard of CIN lesions before and so I felt like they should ve
explained a little easier and in simpler terms of what these cells are, otherwise those without any
medical background/schooling would not follow too well with the

William Bradford Journey To The New World Essay
The journey to the New World certainly proved difficult and venturous; however the horrors did
not prevent either William Bradford or the English pilgrims on the Mayflower from setting aside
all fears and taking on the expedition. Contemplating the difficulties of venturing to the new world,
William Bradford set out in search of religious freedom. Numerous factors contributed to his final
decision. Bradford anticipated the journey to be perilous and difficult to accomplish. However, he
believed that with the help of God he might be able to overcome the challenges and complete the
voyage (Ch. 3, A1, The American Spirit). Without knowledge of what was to come, Bradford relied
on his faith to help him through the difficulties. Aside from the... Show more content on

His expectations fell short when they experienced poverty and religious disagreements, and the
children were converting to the manners of the Dutch society. Since his expectations fell short
in Holland, Bradford is most likely biased toward the way of life in the New World. He and the
group of Puritans had traveled over water to Holland, but their trip was not as distant as the New
World. Without knowing what was to happen, Bradford automatically assumed the worst. Torn
by the deep yearning for religious freedom, misfortunes in Holland, and possible dangers
overseas, Bradford and the group of Puritans went against all judgment and decided to risk the
journey. Bradford s writing is only limited to assumptions and rumors. Having not actually been
to the new land and have not travelled over the waters, he could only rely on the information he
heard as well as what he had imagined in his mind. As Bradford expressed his concerns and
emotions prior to the expedition, he left out any logical predictions and situations about the new
and unknown location. All he writes about is fear and the images he thinks of in regard to the
fear. Bradford s writing is somewhat accurate in how it portrays the influence of anxiety and how
individuals expect the worse of what they do not know. His perspective deeply shows the raw
emotion of what the pilgrims experienced as they took chances and struggled to find

Prayer Of Your Servant And His Prayer Essay

the prayer which Your servant is praying before You: that your eyes may be open toward this
temple day and night, toward the place where You said You would put Your name, that You may
hear the prayer which Your servant makes toward this place. And may You hear the supplication of
Your servant and of Your people Israel, when they pray toward this place. Hear from heaven Your
dwellingplace, and when you hear, forgive. (2 Chronicles 6:14 15, 18 21)
When Solomon had finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering
and the sacrifices; and the glory of the Lord filled the temple. And the priests could not enter the
house of the Lord, because the glory of the Lord had filled the Lord s house. When all the children
of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the Lord on the temple, they bowed their
faces to the ground on the pavement, and worshiped and praised the Lord, saying: For He is good,
For His mercy endures forever. (2 Chronicles 7:1 3)
Lord, remember David and all his afflictions; How He swore to the Lord, and vowed to the Mighty

Mark Twain s Personality Revealed in His Writing Essay
Mark Twain s Personality Revealed in His Writing
Literary artists refuse to be categorized, defined, and completely fathomed by any standardized
paradigm, but a writer s work exhibits his or her personality traits. Though authors are incapable of
being defined by mere personality traits, literary accomplishments, and literary criticisms, an author
s personality can be used to sketch a limited definition of his or her literature. Mark Twain s
literature manifests his personality s candor, graphicness, humor, and criticalness that William Dean
Howells describes in My Mark Twain. These attributes are evident in Old Times on the Mississippi,
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, The Notorious Jumping Frog of Calaveras County, ... Show

Although the theme of deception pervades Twain s work, truth always emanates from both the plot
and characters.
While many Romantic authors elevate their childhoods to idealistic terms of good or bad, Twain
walks the line between Romanticism and Realism. After romantically heralding the position of
a steamboatman in Old Times on the Mississippi, a young Mark Twain realizes and expresses his
new belief on the unfairness of life because of his recent knowledge about the rise of an ungodly
boy to the position of a steamboatman. Twain writes, This thing shook the bottom out of all my
Sunday school teachings (275). Instead of glossing over his young self s questioning nature,
Twain acknowledges the ability to question the authority of the church, even if it is based on
jealousy. Similar in honesty and naivete to the young Twain is the forthright Huckleberry Finn.
He will not accept society s conventions about both religion and history, and he denounces the
Widow Douglass story about Moses and the Bulrushers. Huck states, so then I didn t care no
more about him, because I don t take no stock in dead people (26). Huck ceaselessly disdains
efforts to civilize him, but the Widow Douglass continues to try to change him. After Huck first
learns about Hell from the Widow Douglass, his earnest initial response is memorable. Huck
covertly thinks, Well, I couldn t see no advantage in going where she was going, so I

Negative Effects Of The Louisiana Purchase
The Louisiana Purchase formed both negative and positive impacts for President Jefferson and the
expansion of the United States; dealing with both agricultural and economic reasons. On April 30th,
1803 the United states representatives paid fifteen million dollars to the French for over eight
hundred twenty eight thousand square miles of their territory. This segment of land stretched from
the Mississippi river to Rocky Mountains, and also from the Gulf of Mexico to Canada. Both

Powers, and all other Powers vested by this Constitution in the Government of the United States, or
in any Department or Officer thereof. In other words, giving the government power to use the
national bank to carry out taxation on the United states. Jefferson believed that the constitution
held no power. Thus, Jefferson tried to buy the smallest area (mainly New Orleans and most

Georgia was the buffer zone between Spain and the United States. He proposed an offer of two

Captain Knows Analysis
Often times in a theatre troupe, three different groups tend to stand out amongst the crowd. In this
troupe, there are the Captain Knows how s, the Diamond Shiner s, and the Queen s of Drama.
They all have their perks, except when their special instincts take over and steal the show.
The first group is the Captain Knows how s. This group is often the shy, quiet personality in the
whole troupe. However, if the director needs a task done they always find this group. No matter
what, or how hard the task is, the Captain Knows how s will never cease to amaze. Beware, they

Comparitive Flood Stories Essay
Comparitive Flood Stories Most comparisons between Genesis and ancient Creation or Flood
stories can be classified as comparative religious studies. They generally involve one text isolated
from its original historical context (e.g., the Babylonian creation myth Enuma Elish or the Flood

evidence, their earliest known written form can be dated only to the first half of the first millenium

Functional Analysis Disadvantages
a.Describe the rationale for conducting a functional analysis. What are the benefits and limitations
of a functional analysis?
Functional Analysis (FA) is a tool used to identify a functional relationship. In order to establish this
relationship, a problematic behavior is operationally defined. Then, the environmental antecedents
and consequences of the behavior are systematically manipulated in well defined test and control
conditions and the behavior is observed and measured. The goal of this is to identify the sources of
reinforcement that maintain the behavior. Thus, the function of the behavior can be determined
(Iwata Dozier, 2008; Jackson, 2017). One benefit of conducting a FA is that researchhas shown it to

In order to do this, the therapist may inform the client that she is busy and then move away.
However, when the client performs the problem behavior, the therapist should attend to the client
immediately by addressing the problem behavior, which is the consequence. Then, the therapist
should return to ignoring the client. If the problem behavior persists, then a possible function of the
behavior is attention or social positive reinforcement (Iwata Dozier, 2008; Jackson, 2017). The
tangible condition is similar to the attention condition. In this condition, the therapist should allow
the client free access to a preferred item prior to the session. At the beginning of the session, the
therapist should remove the item and move away from the client. When the problem behavior
occurs, the therapist should deliver the tangible item for about 30 seconds. Then, the therapist
should move back away from the client. If the problem behavior persists, then a possible function
of the behavior is tangibles or social positive reinforcement (Iwata Dozier, 2008; Jackson,

The Beggar s Opera Essay
The Beggars Opera by John Gay was written in 1728 as a response to the political state in
London. Gay moved to London with no expectation of writing a satirical musical. Coming from
no money, no title, and no useful contacts he tried to find his own destiny. He took a job as an
apprentice to a silk merchant in an attempt to build his status. After realizing that he did not want
to pursue a career in silk, he moved on to working in a theater. He was then offered a jobs working
for different nobilities in London, gaining substantial connections with various members of the arts
community. Through his time with the upper crust of London, he noticed a flaw in society. His
view on the upper class along with his connections, his love for music, and his ability to write
poetry led to the writing of The Beggar s Opera. By definition a musical has five essential
elements: music and lyrics, a book/libretto, choreography, staging, and a physical production. If
this is the true standard of a musical, then I believe The Beggar s Opera by John Gay is the first
musical. First, various composers wrote the music for The Beggar s Opera because it was really

Essay On Barefoot Running
Our bodies goes through repetitive forces of impact each day. Anything from stepping off a curb to
landing after a jump contributes the impact our bodies withstand daily. Aside from the impact due
to daily routine, runners add an extra amount of force during exercise. The most basic cause of
injury while running is considered to be ground reaction force. Ground reaction force is the force
that the ground exerts on the body during contact. while wearing shoes throughout the day we are

Examples Of Rekindle Candle
Rekindle Candle
Introduction Generally, we are so persistent with our own view and thinking, seldom think out of
the box. Sometimes, a great invention that brings advantages to humankind just needs our
creativity. When we are able to think critically and creatively, a lot of things will be definitely
different. For an instance, if Newton did not think deeply why the apple will fall to the ground
instead of accelerate towards the sky, then he will never realise the gravity. Therefore, we would
like to introduce a simple and nice rekindle candle invented by Benjamin Shine. In the past, candle
played an important role in each family whenever power cut and brought us precious and
unforgettable memories with shadow games. Nowadays, candle has become a dispensable
presence as its role to bring light in the dark has been replaced by torch and flashlight. But
sometimes when we want to revive our childhood memories or have a candlelight dinner with our
loved ones, we could not find a single candle because we did not buy a new one when the old
candles burnt out. This is the moment when we need a candle that is reusable so we can use it for
plenty times. The clever candle holder is so simple that many would wonder how comes we did not
think about it before? It may not as popular as the common one, but this invention ... Show more

Data Mining Fundamentals
Data Mining
DM Defined Is the analysis of (often large) observational data sets to find unsuspected relationships
and to summarize the data in novel ways that are both understandable and useful to the data owner
Process of analyzing data from different perspectives and summarizing it into useful information
A class of database applications that look for hidden patterns in a group of data that can be used to
predict future behavior.
DM Defined The relationships and summaries derived are referred to as models or patterns.
Examples include linear equations, rules, clusters, graphs, tree structures and recurrent patterns in
time series.

Analyze the data by application software.
Present the data in a useful format, such as a graph or table.
Seeking relationships
The process should aim at accurate, convenient and useful summaries.
The steps are as follows:
Determine the nature and structure of the representation to be used
Decide how to quantify and compare how well different representations fit the data (choosing the
score function)
Choose an algorithmic process to optimize the score function
Decide what principles of data management are required to implement the algorithm efficiently.
Seeking relationships: example In simple regression, one can build a predictive model to relate
the predictor variable, X to a response variable Y through a relationship Y = aX + b. e.g. we
might build a model which would allow us to predict a persona s annual credit card spending given
their annual income. Not perfect but good for a rough characterization.
Step wise:
The representation is a model in which the response variable, spending, is linearly related to the
predictor variable, income.
The score function: the sum of squared discrepancies between predicted spending and observed
spending in group of people described by the data
The optimization algorithm is quite simple: a and b are expressed as explicit functions of the
observed values of spending and income
Unless the data set is

Differences Between Monarchy and Democracy
Differences between Monarchy and Democracy
1. Democracy is a type of government that emanates from the constituted powers that are elected,
depending on the system (presidentialist, parliamentary, constitutional monarchy, semi
presidentialist, semi parliamentary, etc...) directly or indirectly by the people. Whereas in an
absolute monarchy, an absolutist regime exists and is in power because of family lineage.
2. In democracy three state powers(in most cases) exist as a checks and balances system, these
being the judicial, executive and legislative as it was enunciated in Montesquieu s Of the Spirit of
law. And they are independent, complementary and with no relation of subordination. Whereas in

a power or branch. An example to serve this is Germany that has three brances( executive, judicial

Satire In Greek Comedy
Satirical methods have been introduced since the beginning of history as a form of entertainment
and a way to get a message across. This is demonstrated through Greek comedies in particular.
Greek comedies were typically written to address the common people of that area through actions
and words that they would find humorous. Not much has changed today. Comedy and satirical
methods are still present and continue to hold a place in current society. The Acharniansis a clear
example of an ancient Greek play that uses satireto relay a message, and The Word: Armistice is a
news broadcast that plays as evidence that satirical methods used in the past are still present today.
Both hold many similarities, and their differences reveal how much society and satire have changed
throughout the years. The Acharnians is a satirical, ancient Greek play by playwright Aristophanes
demonstrating a main theme of peace. The play is set during the Peloponnesian war which was
primarily fought between Sparta and Athens. Dicaeopolis, the protagonist of the play who yearns
for peace, impatiently waits for an assembly to begin and will only stand for speeches that speak of
creating peace. However, the general assembly and Athenians are not interested in creating peace.
At the assembly, Dicaeopolis meets Amphitheus who claims to be an immortal god. Amphitheus
gives him a private peace treaty with Sparta in exchange for eight drachmas. Throughout the play,
Dicaepolis is showered with luxurious belongings due to private trade with the enemies of Athens
while Lamachus, a belligerent war hero, is living in terrible conditions due to war. Dicaepolis
convinces the chorus, or common people of the play that maybe war isn t worth the suffering it
brings and that Athenians share more similarities with the people of Sparta than originally thought
of. As a result of this, Dicaepolis is celebrated as a hero at the end of the play. Playwright
Aristophanes uses a series of satirical methods to present his theme of peace throughout The
Acharnians. He makes fun of the citizens of Athens and the Athenian government for their
pugnacious methods in war with Sparta and other nations. War gives them nothing but starvation,
poverty, and death on both

Conrad s Heart Of Darkness
The novel Heart of Darkness, written by Conrad, explores the Congo through Marlow s story.
Marlow discovers the horror behind imperialism through the invasion of Europeans into the Congo,
inhabited by African natives. Conrad includes irony, imagery, and symbolism to criticize white
imperialism and argue that Europeans cause destruction and native societies. In Heart of Darkness,
Conrad reverses the traditional associations with Europeans and natives to argue that the success of
a society depends on its level of morality, which is absent in imperialism. In Conrad s novel, the
level of morality of Europeans and natives are shown through the reverse relationship between
Europeans and natives through their amount of restraint. During the boat ride to Kurtz, Marlow
notices the native s restraint towards man s hardest temptation, hunger. Conrad shows that although
the natives have starved compared to the well fed Europeans, the native s morality stops them from
giving into cannibalism: Restraint... No fear can stand up to hunger... It takes a man all his inborn
strength to fight hunger properly (68). On the same boat ride, fat Europeans demonstrate no
restraint compared to the natives because the Europeansdo not hesitate to kill a native if survival
must overrule their morals. The European yells to Marlow, Catch im ... Eat im (66). The Europeans
again show no restraint towards hunger when Kurtz s appetite for more ivory (95) grows, even with

So why doesn t globalization create a flatter world? In Shanghai Rising Part 1 Saskia Sassen
explains that cross border economic processes like flows of capital, labor, goods, raw materials,
and travelers have been around for a long time, and that those processes predominantly have
taken place between nation states over the course of the last century. As a result of privatization,
deregulation, the opening up of national economies to foreign firms, and the growing
participation of national economic actors in global markets that has change quite drastically
since the 1980s. These changes have led to a new system in the world economy in which nation
states are losing their importance relative to other subnational special units; mostly cities and
regions, global electronic markets, and free trade blocks. Cities are now able to specialize in
certain aspects of the economy, and for big corporations it often makes economic sense to
centralize all of their activities in one place anymore. Because of technological advancement firms
can now divide their activities over multiple places all over the globe to where it strategically
makes most sense. But Sassen also notes that the more a firm s activities are dispersed over
different cities and countries, the more complex these networks of different firms and cities get,

Modernization Of Reconstruction Era
A great deal of the confusion over whether or not the Reconstruction Era is considered
modernization is because most people believe that modernization is only a present day
phenomenon. The dictionary definition of modernization is as follows, the process of adapting
something to modern needs or habits. Today, my argument is how the Reconstruction Era is the
epitome of modernization. There are multiple things that contributed to the modernization of the
Reconstruction Era, such as the economic system changing (the Gilded Age) and societal changes
(radical and social modernization). Personally, I believe that the societal component of the
Reconstruction Era had the most impact. From radical republicans, the passing of the 14th
Amendment, Jim Crow laws, and the court case Plessy v. Ferguson in 1896. There were many
changes in society that helped shape the United States into what it is today.... Show more content on

Reconstruction, the United States underwent a lot of historically significant changes. The
Reconstruction Era lasted fourteen years, starting in 1863 and ending in 1877. The major changes
of Reconstruction began after the Civil War in hopes to reunite the union and confederacy. This is
when a group called the radical republicans came about. They believed that African Americans
were entitled to the same rights that white Americans had. Radical republicans also believed the
southern states that seceded from the union should be punished for leaving and their roles in the

characters from the film Finding Nemo. To do so I will provide examples of transformative
leadership and describe the impact it had on others. I will also explain how the characters acquired
their leadershipeffectiveness by identifying experiences that were instrumental in their leadership
development.
Transformative Leaders The three characters in the film Finding Nemo that displayed
transformative leadership are Marlin, Dory and Gill. Marlin0020goes on a journey to find his
lost son Nemo. While on his journey Marlin experiences many challenges and meets new
friends. Marlin learns that he no longer needs to be afraid, and that he can be a leader. Along the
way Marlin meets Dory, who joins him on his journey. She is a very positive fish who suffers
from short term memory loss. Dory always maintains a positive attitude, calms Marlin as he
becomes upset and helps Marlin become more positive as well (Bennis, 2009). Throughout the
movie Dory shows Marlin that he can trust her. Dory easily adjusts to new situations and thinks
outside of the box which contributes to Marlin being reunited with Nemo. As Dory and Marlin s
journey nears the end Marlin begins to have a lot of respect and trust for Dory. Gill is also a
transformative leader. Nemo met Gill in the fish tank at the dentist s office after he was captured.

Descriptive Essay About My Mandala
My Mandala A Mandala is a circular design that is seen throughout many cultures around the
world. It is a symbolic piece of art used for enlightenment, protection, healing, or something else
depending on the culture. They are often made for meditation as well, and even deconstructed at
the end. The Mandala I created expresses who I am. It spans from my hobbies and favorite places
to my ethnicity. This Mandala has helped me to understand who I am, and how I ve changed and
grown throughout these 14 years. The middle of my Mandala represents the love I have for my
family. The heart represents love, and the people circling it are my family, from both of my
parents sides. I made it so that every family member was wearing a different colored shirt to
represent diversity, and my grandfather and grandmother are wearing Disney merchandise
because of their passion for Disney. My mom and her sister Zdanna are wearing matching
necklaces, to represent their connection with each other, and they actually do have similar
necklaces. The large portion on the left symbolizes how much I went to Disney World as a kid,
and how I grew up watching Disney movies. I love watching the fireworks and Tinkerbell flying
over the Magic Kingdom, so I drew those onto my mandala. The three people watching the

Jazz Popularity
Jazz, like most other music genres, evolves as time passes, so it is informative to see how jazz
and the jazz audience has changed throughout the decades. Predictions made about jazz music s
future in a 1964 Playboy article are finally answered in a 2008 survey from the National
Endowment for the Arts.
One of the biggest changes seen in the jazz community is its popularity. African American artists,
Cannonball Adderley, Dizzy Gillespie, Charles Mingus, George Russell, and two white critics,
Ralph Gleason and Nat Hentoff were questioned about their views on whether jazz popularity
would increase or not. In the Playboy interview, Gleason remained optimistic about jazz s
popularity, while Russell and Schuller believed that jazz would be on the decline in the next few
decades ( A Jazz Summit Meeting 238). As it turns out, Russell and Schuller were correct in their
prediction that jazz popularity would decrease. In the 2008 survey, the number of adults who
attended jazz concerts dropped from eleven to eight percent from 2002 to 2008 ( Now Who

as passionate about jazz. Once again, these survey findings contrast against Gleason s more

DESIGN AND EVALUATION OF ORODISPERSIBLE
TABLETS OF HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE USING NATURAL DISINTEGRANTS
1)Project Initiation
Introduction
The main concept of the project is to design an oral dispersible tablets by using naturally
disintegrates.
Oral dosage form is one of the oldest form of the dosage system which is used by our ancestors
for treatment of many diseases, the bio availability of the drug is high and it is mostly taken with
the food and water, it is also a very safe mode of administration when compared to other forms.
The main reason for using natural disintegrates are 1) they are obtained naturally from plants, 2)
they are less in cost, 3) they have no very less side effects when compared to synthetic and semi
synthetic agents.Since the oral route of administration is most effective and can be easily
administrated without any need of others, the drug becomes effective to the body immediately after
4 to 5 minutes of administration of the drug through orally.
For the successful formulation of a drug one need to understand the basic frameworks of developing
a drug, those are physicochemical, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of the drug. These are
the main functions that one need to understand before formulating a drug, and one also needs to
know how the body reacts to the given formulations of the drug. The anatomic and physical
characteristics of intestinal also one need

Madame Butterfly Symbolism
David Henry Hwang s award winning show Madame Butterfly is a story of a French diplomat
and his Chinese mistress that he later discovers was not only a spy but a man. Throughout this
play sexuality has been exploited not only by Gallimard (the French Diplomat) but prominently
seen by his collogue/best friend Mark. Mark s role is shown in the play as an unfettered
masculine sexuality in Gallimard s head. Whenever Gallimard struggles with questions of
sexual ethics and desire he automatically imagines Mark and thinks of his ideologies. Mark
translates to the audience that Western men are charming, masculine and quite the ladies man;
womanizing is a norm in their society. Mark displays the characteristics of charm and
masculinity repeatedly throughout the play. In the beginning of the play he invites Gallimard
to a beach party. He provokes him and tries to persuade him to go because it will be fun . His
idea of fun is girls with big boobs and a tight ass (as he recalls it) that are will be willing to do
anything for booze and a good time. According to him that s what men in college do to have fun.
Gallimard refuses to go because he doesn t want just any woman to have sex; he is looking for a
deeper relationship and by deeper he wants a woman that is dependent on his masculinity and needs
saving. Throughout the play Mark s ethical values about women are emphasized through him and
Gallimard. They are shown to be the ethical values of the Western society. The time that the play

The Real Estate Market Is Important
Introduction
In this modern age we are all greatly affected by the core economic problem, as we know it.
Scarceness of resources is the main economic issue, this is made worse by the world s rapidly
expanding population, Resources are scarce but wants are infinite (Anderton, 2008 pg. 2). In this
essay, we are going to look into the real estate business, and specifically in London. This will enable
us to understand the demand, supply and elasticity determinants in this market.
Real estate market is very important, as housing is probably a person s biggest purchase, which can
represent the consumer s wealth. Also, it is important, as changes in property prices affect the rest
of the economy enormously.

This is due to the fact that these properties represent a secure shelter for the population, which is
considered a basic human need. However the housing market is believed to provide normal
goods , meaning that as people s income increases so does their demand for housing (Masron,
2013). Due to the socioeconomic background of a large portion of the population a large segment
of the market would be considered a highly differentiated product. Location of the property within
London tends to play a large part of the product s differentiation, as some areas are more desirable
than others.
There are main factors that affect the real estate in London, which will greatly influence supply and
demand. One of the factors that may affect supply is the lack of free land in desirable areas; this
affects both residential and commercial properties alike. However, suppliers still tend to provide a
large number of properties each year. During the period of June 2013 and June 2014 there was
around 18,900 new buildings completed as provided by the UK government (Government stats,
2014). A factor that may affect demand is the rapid increase in population due to both immigration
and migration; with the increase in population there is an increasing number of businesses looking
for commercial property.
Supply in the market
Supply conditions in the London real estate market is similar to the rest of the UK. There are

forward to the thirty minutes of story time after recess the most. At that age, it was the sole
activity that could hold my attention for any given time. Excited and attentive, we would all
gather around Ms. Powell s old, wooden rocker and listen to story after story. In the fifth grade
books became more than just stories; I fell in love with reading for pleasure. It has been nearly a

One of the smallest, yet most important lessons, was how to empathize. The power of empathy
and imagination opened up the world around me. How could it be that I found and continue to
find myself a better person through reading someone else s words? I do not know, but it happened.
I am thankful for Ms.Powell and the stories she would read after recess. Nothing has stuck with me
more than that special activity. In the fifth grade books became more than just books, and it has
been that way ever since. Word count:

The New Deal And Social Security Act Of 1935 Essay
Poverty, Rehabilitation, and Legislation: The New Deal and Social Security Act of 1935.
Jacquelyn R. Ward
United States History II: 1865 Present
September 27, 2016 After the Great Depression, many Americans were left disheveled. They
needed some form of financial assistance to help them get their lives back to normal. Many
government officials such as Hurbert Hoover and Franklin D. Roosevelt helped to enact bills and
programs that would assist Americans in rehabilitating their lives. The amount of unemployed
workers, the economic relief for retired workers, and the creation of legislature directed towards
financial stability all illustrate that the most important effects that the New Deal legislation had on
the American government was a liberal one..
The Great Depression left the American banking system in shambles and left the American
people broken and scared for their futures. There were several causes that led up to the enactment
of the New Deal and the Social Security Act. A major cause was Black Tuesday. This was the
largest stock market crash in U.S. history that took place on October 29, 1929. The crash
happened because wealthy Americans used their revenue to speculate in real estate and the stock
market rather than invest in new businesses. Another cause was U.S. banks issuing loans and
credits to foreign governments in the amount of billions of dollars. Prior to the Great Depression
and the enactment of the FERA, relief was based on the poor laws.

Sonnet
The Spenserian Sonnet was named for Edmund Spenser 1552 1599, a 16th century English Poet.
The Spenserian Sonnet inherited the tradition of the declamatory couplet of Wyatt / Surrey
although Spenser used Sicilian quatrains to develop a metaphor, conflict, idea or question logically,
with the declamatory couplet resolving it.
Beyond the prerequisite for all sonnets, the defining features of the Spenserian Sonnet are: a
quatorzain made up of 3 Sicilian quatrains (4 lines alternating rhyme) and ending in a rhyming
couplet metric, primarily iambic pentameter. rhymed, rhyme scheme ababbcbccdcdee. composed
with a volta (a non physical gap) or pivot (a shifting or tilting of the main line of thought) sometime
after the 2nd quatrain. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, while the sonnet finally celebrates America s victory on Manila bay, that extreme joy is yet
destroyed by the first eight verses that shows our fighting spirit though our troubled history has
only lacked its brightness(dimmed).
Perhaps, it should have been sunset over Manila bay because foreigners often enjoy its view during
sunset, but the poet chose moonlight, not because it is more romantic(dramatic effect) but because,
as the poem suggests, it is under cover of darkness that foreigners stole our country from us The
deep s bare bosom that the breeze molests is a metaphor for American colonization.
So in our reading now, we understand that Maramag s insistence on our own scene so fair in fact
becomes a chief motive and inspiration for the Filipino poet. For his own scene is nothing less
than his lost country whose physical and spiritual geography it is his task to imagine and so
rediscover. There is still hope to heal all the wounds
A literary technique (also known as literary device) is any method an author uses to convey their
message.[1] This distinguishes them from literary elements, which exist inherently in literature.

Right Of Passage In Doris Lessing s Through The Tunnel
In Doris Lessing s short story, Through the Tunnel, examines a boy named Jerry and his rite of
passage to prove to himself and to the older boys that he too could swim down to the underwater
tunnel. Jerry s controlling characteristic comes from his determination to swim down to the
tunnel just like the older boys. This characteristic motivates this character because he has a
desire to become like the older boys and he will do anything to accomplish his goal. Jerry, an
eleven year old boy who feels isolated from a clique of boys who do not welcome the idea of a

My View Of My Dream House
Generally, I revere everything in life, it illustrates a clear explanation of whom I want to become
in the future. The grade 10 students were introduced to the myp personal project and with this in
mind, I had many vital ideas executed but confused to choose a product that contributes to my
interests. I love learning and discovering new things. After many cups of coffee, I obtained an
idea or goal to create a three dimensional foam architectural model of my dream house. My family
built our own house in India last year and on viewing the stages of buildinga house became one of
my interest. I always wondered how the workers/builders managed to get the house in perfect shape
as the engineer contemplated. For instance,

His creation inspired many others in the architectural field and has become one of the seven
wonders of the world. My product should impress others and induce them in creating their own
dream house model. I have chosen to focus on the global context of orientation in space and
time. My areas of exploration will be on Homes and Journey . My project specifically deals with
the design and construction of a house in this modern world. I intend to focus on the engineer and
construction workers collaboration towards the completion of a perfect house. In this case, I will
be both the engineer and construction worker as I am going to design my floor plan and transform
it into a three dimensional figure. Based on my global context my question of inquiry is Why
humans should know how to manipulate architectural designs and common construction procedure
. To start out with this personal project I have decided to conquer this quote for my success in this
model, If you focus on design, you can call yourself a designer. If you focus on the implementation
of your design, you can call yourself an architect .(Cameron Sinclair, Architecturefor Humanity)
Before I begin my construction work, I need to know basic steps of an architectural model building.
So I Came up with some research questions that would help me throughout this project.

The Rising Tide Of Postmodern Consumerism Analysis
The Rising Tide of Postmodern Consumerism
Taylor University professor, Michael Jessup, in his article The Rising Tide of Postmodern
Consumerism addresses the issues of consumerism in the postmodern world its consequences on
both a personal, social and a global level.
In his article, Jessup first expounds the postmodern phenomenon of consumerism, whose nature he
criticizes, labelling it as superficial, selfish, and decadent. He then elaborates on the role that
consumerism plays in the postmodern individual s life, defining it as a manifestation of both one s
fundamental need to consume, and an inclination to shape and express one s identity through
material goods. Jessup continues by declaring reenchantment as postmodern consumerism s main ...

colorful decorations, cafГ©s and shops overflowing with consumer goods, all of which stand in
great contrast to the cold and barren area around the mall. Initially, the protagonist finds herself
immensely enchanted by that world and the consumer goods it provides, only to get lost in the
chaos of the undifferentiated mass , possibly confirming Michael Jessup s deepest concerns

Essay about The Effects of Class Structure in the 1920 s
Class Structures in the 1920 s
The emerging inequitable class systems and antagonisms of the nineteen twenties saw the
traditional order and moral values challenged, as well as the creation of great wealth for few and
poverty for many. The Great Gatsby, written by Francis Scott Fitzgerald, explores the causes and
effects of the unbalanced class structures. Fitzgerald outlines the idea that the desire to accumulate
wealth and status is a common ambition amongst the lower classes; when that desire is reached, the
traditional upper class is challenged by the emerging newly wealthy, which finally leads to
destructive consequences. By creating rigid class structures, traditional upper class, new wealth,

Gatsby comes from the Platonic conception of Gatz and by comparing Gatsby to Platonic
Idealism, the idea of Gatsby becomes immortalized and genuine. Gatsby, representing the lower
class desires to alter his status to an unalterable conception, which epitomizes the new money s
desires. Tom Buchanan, the embodiment of the traditional upper class, is a domineering man
who desires only one result, to maintain his status and wealth. Tom obsesses over maintaining a
pure, rich class of Caucasians that he believes should never be challenged: It s up to us, who are
the dominant race, to watch out, or these other races will have control...this idea is that we re

to protect civilization, it suggests that they are the class holds a responsibility to maintain its

Memorie Episodic Memory Paper
Have you ever wondered how you can remember things so easily sometimes without hesitation?
Your brain is made up of millions of different chemicals and processes to create these memories.
Psychologist Margaret W. Matlin describes memory as the process of retaining information over
time (Zimmermann). This process includes encoding, storing, retaining and then recalling thoughts.
Without our memorywe would be lost not knowing where you are in time, endlessly moving
forward. Memory is essential for almost everything you do day by day, consider for a moment
how much you rely on your memory to help you function just in one day such as using your phone,
test answers or as simple as eating (Cherry). Encoding is the crucial first step to creating a new
memory (Mastin). This is meant to cement the memory in your head using various parts of the
brain. There are three types of encoding such as Acoustic, Visual and Semantic (Mastin). Encoding

Episodic memory critically depends on the medial temporal lobe and several neocortical regions
during memory encoding (Papassotiropoulos). Memory strategies to help with long term memory
has not been shown to affect memory rehabilitation (Ylvisaker). One reason is people with common
forgetfulness often do not use the strategies that have been taught to help with memorization. Also
most have limited space in their working memory, therefore it is hard to remember these strategies.
Most of the studies have been conducted with adults who rarely have to learn or memorize large
amounts of new information. However, in an academic atmosphere, it is worth encouraging
students to do at least some of the following at the time of encoding to enhance their memory
(Hibbard). These being summarizing, taking notes, speaking information aloud and taking in
reasonably small amounts of information in short amounts of

The Problem Of The Brazilian Army
The problem the Brazilian Army is facing can bring serious problems for the formation and the
training of Artillery Soldiers. Due to the amount of Artillery materials, the size of the country, and
the price of the ammunition necessary to accomplish the mission, the Brazilian Army has to find a
balance in order to avoid a collapse in the Artillerysystems. The tendency is that they increase, since
the militaryexercises must continue in order to the Brazilian Army can prevent, shape, and win.
How does the Army can do for at least decrease the impact of these aspects in the SoldierFormation

Doctrine, Organization, Materiel, Leadership, Education, Personnel, Facilities and Policy
(DOTMLPF P)? The discussion about solutions identifies some alternatives to manage the
situation or at least, find a balance between Soldier preparation and resources management. One of
the feasible alternatives to this problem would be to increase the number of combined exercises
among the Artillery subsystems in order to capitalize resources. This way, instead of conducting a
certain number of exercises per year, it is possible to conduct combined exercises among the
Artillery subsystems replace the conventional approach. An aspect to consider in this case is the
importance of an effective coordination center in order to synchronize the activities to effective

Factors Influencing Political Betting On Politics
This chapter will draw out some of the characteristics of the type of person to bet on a political
outcome. It will also focus on the different types of motives why people may be tempted to place a
bet on a specific outcome.
The first distinction, that needs to be assessed is whether those betting on politics are gamblers first
and foremost, or whether their interest in politics has prompted them to put their money where
their mouth is. Betting on elections, within in America, while illegal, can still occur amongst very
strict framework. These prediction frameworks can attract interest from the more typical gambler

Alistair Meeks is a lawyer, who is heavily involved with political betting. His underlying interest
in politics was the driving force for him to get involved with politics. He has been documented
stating he likes that politics is still considered a novelty bet, as the strong form research is less of
a feature than in sports betting . Alistair Meeks frequently writes articles for the PolitcalBetting
website. It is clear his interest is Politics and he sees it as a way to make a little bit of extra money
from his own interests.
This suggests political betting is something that is of interest to both people with an interest in
politics, but also those who take a punt as gambling is their main focus. Political betting is
different from Sports in this sense, as it is unlikely political betters will make the move across to
sports betting. People may have been betting to keep an interest in the result and to gamble on
their own analytical ability. It could be suggested this is what makes political gambling an
interesting topic, as those placing the bets may fall outside those who are typical gamblers. The
punters involved in political gambling may be politics enthusiasts first, but with a good
understanding of betting and a desire to place money on their own ability to predict the outcome of
a certain political

Feminist Theory Applied to Hamlet
Representing Ophelia: Women, Madness, and the Responsibilities of Feminist Criticism Elaine
Showalter Though she is neglected in criticism, Ophelia is probably the most frequently
illustrated and cited of Shakespeare s heroines. Her visibility as a subject in literature, popular
culture, and painting, from Redon who paints her drowning, to Bob Dylan, who places her on
Desolation Row, to Cannon Mills, which has named a flowery sheet pattern after her, is in inverse
relation to her invisibility in Shakespearean critical texts. Why has she been such a potent and
obsessive figure in our cultural mythology? Insofar as Hamlet names Ophelia as womanand frailty,

According to David Leverenz, in an important essay called The Woman in Hamlet. Hamlet s
disgust at the feminine passivity in himself is translated into violent revulsion against women,
and into his brutal behaviour towards Ophelia. Ophelia s suicide, Leverenz argues, then
becomes a microcosm of the male world s banishment of the female, because woman represents
everything denied by reasonable men. To liberate Ophelia from the text, or to make her its
tragic center, is to re appropriate her for our own ends; to dissolve her into a female symbolism
of absence is to endorse our own marginality; to make her Hamlet s anima is to reduce her to a
metaphor of male experience. I would like to propose instead that Ophelia does have a story of her
own that feminist criticism can tell; it is neither her life story, nor her love story, nor Lacan s story,
but rather the history of her representation. This essay tries to bring together some of the categories
of French feminist thought about the feminine with the empirical energies of American historical
and critical research; to yoke French theory and Yankee knowhow. Tracing the iconography of
Ophelia in English and French painting, photography, psychiatry, and literature, as well as in
theatrical production, I will be showing first of all the representational bonds between female
insanity and female sexuality. Secondly, I

  • 2. Analysis Of Woman Holding A Balance Exploring Depth with Vermeer Woman Holding a Balance is a Northern European piece of art painted by Johannes Vermeer between the dates of 1662 and1665. This painting was created out of oils. This fascinating piece of art uses light and color to depict its depth and space. Woman Holding a Balance has so much to interpret as far as depth and space through the form and structure of the artwork. This piece of art is formed from blue, gray, white, and yellow colors giving it a harmonious act to it. Vermeer created this piece of art as a woman holding a balance with her right hand. As we analyze this painting starting off from the top left portion, there is a window with light entering the space to which this woman is in. The window is covered by a yellow curtain. Next to the window is a dark, framed mirror, which is close to a black color. Underneath the mirror, Vermeer painted a table with gray and yellowish pearls laid down over it. There is also a dark blue piece of cloth resting on the top left portion of the table. Right in front of the table we have the woman holding the scale, and she is wearing a blue and white jacket with a hoodie that gently falls over to the sides of her head. In addition, on the far back part of the painting, right behind the woman, Vermeer painted The Last Judgment. The Last Judgement shows Christ with his arms extended on judgment daywith people looking up at him from beneath. All this, as far as the window, table, pearls, woman, ... After he attended school his early years he was educated at Midhurst Grammar School and soon after he attended the School of Science in London. Once there he studied biology, which could be one reason why he started to write science fiction novels such as, The Time Machine. Around the time he wrote this work, there was a huge shift of technological breakthroughs that would have influenced his writing also. At that time, from his schooling at the School of Science in London, he would have been exposed to the works of Jules Verne, (20,000 Leagues under the sea), T. H. The Time Machine makes one think that most theories of the far future are of an advanced society that has advanced technology with no fear of health problems. But this book allows a new glimpse of what can become of such advancements where the existence of humankind could almost have a circular pattern of events. The author shows the readers that their may be a certain cliff were all of society starts over which apparently has happened with the Eloi and Morlocks. One example of this was in the world of the Eloi the museums were all in ruins, where they didn t seem to take much notice of how they came to be or on preserving their history. In an article on the theme of the time machine, they believe there is a constant class struggle that is continuous through time but in time it leads to communism. But then they come to think that society will just become one that is composed of have and have nots. Even in the names of the two species we can notice discrepancies. The word Eloi itself sounds like the word elite, describing a rich, elite being, while Morlocks is a seemingly perfect word to describe a brutish, ape like ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Gardasil Research Paper Summary The research questions are why is Gardasil such a controversial topic and why can t the debate on if Gardasil is safe, on what age it should be given, and how successful it would be when administered be settled? The research was conducted to answer these questions because Merck, the maker of Gardasil, presented this vaccine as the first vaccine to prevent HPV and cervical cancer in girls but there was no real solid proof that the vaccine was successful since Merck and the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) approved the vaccine a year before the results/data on the vaccine s safety and efficacy became available. Likewise, researchers were trying to learn if Merck s claims of one less life being affected by cervical cancer with their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I feel like the article should have talked about both sides of the debate because, despite people s personal beliefs/feelings on Gardasil, the vaccine does work, just not on everything that the company is advertising that it does. It does not prevent cervical cancer mainly because with the way the lesions of cervical cancer are (CIN 1 3) the lesions hardly ever develop into the other two lesions known as CIN 2 and CIN 3. This article was completely against the vaccine but it provided plenty of proof and detail to back up why Gardasil should not be required, especially because research has proven that a pap smear can do more for women when it comes to cervical cancer than Gardasil can. I like the article overall, and it helped me understand a little more of what Gardasil can or cannot do. However, I feel like the article could ve been dumbed down some just because I never even heard of CIN lesions before and so I felt like they should ve explained a little easier and in simpler terms of what these cells are, otherwise those without any medical background/schooling would not follow too well with the ... • 5. William Bradford Journey To The New World Essay The journey to the New World certainly proved difficult and venturous; however the horrors did not prevent either William Bradford or the English pilgrims on the Mayflower from setting aside all fears and taking on the expedition. Contemplating the difficulties of venturing to the new world, William Bradford set out in search of religious freedom. Numerous factors contributed to his final decision. Bradford anticipated the journey to be perilous and difficult to accomplish. However, he believed that with the help of God he might be able to overcome the challenges and complete the voyage (Ch. 3, A1, The American Spirit). Without knowledge of what was to come, Bradford relied on his faith to help him through the difficulties. Aside from the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His expectations fell short when they experienced poverty and religious disagreements, and the children were converting to the manners of the Dutch society. Since his expectations fell short in Holland, Bradford is most likely biased toward the way of life in the New World. He and the group of Puritans had traveled over water to Holland, but their trip was not as distant as the New World. Without knowing what was to happen, Bradford automatically assumed the worst. Torn by the deep yearning for religious freedom, misfortunes in Holland, and possible dangers overseas, Bradford and the group of Puritans went against all judgment and decided to risk the journey. Bradford s writing is only limited to assumptions and rumors. Having not actually been to the new land and have not travelled over the waters, he could only rely on the information he heard as well as what he had imagined in his mind. As Bradford expressed his concerns and emotions prior to the expedition, he left out any logical predictions and situations about the new and unknown location. All he writes about is fear and the images he thinks of in regard to the fear. Bradford s writing is somewhat accurate in how it portrays the influence of anxiety and how individuals expect the worse of what they do not know. His perspective deeply shows the raw emotion of what the pilgrims experienced as they took chances and struggled to find ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Prayer Of Your Servant And His Prayer Essay regard the prayer of Your servant and his supplication, O Lord my God, and listen to the cry and the prayer which Your servant is praying before You: that your eyes may be open toward this temple day and night, toward the place where You said You would put Your name, that You may hear the prayer which Your servant makes toward this place. And may You hear the supplication of Your servant and of Your people Israel, when they pray toward this place. Hear from heaven Your dwellingplace, and when you hear, forgive. (2 Chronicles 6:14 15, 18 21) When Solomon had finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the Lord filled the temple. And the priests could not enter the house of the Lord, because the glory of the Lord had filled the Lord s house. When all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the Lord on the temple, they bowed their faces to the ground on the pavement, and worshiped and praised the Lord, saying: For He is good, For His mercy endures forever. Though authors are incapable of being defined by mere personality traits, literary accomplishments, and literary criticisms, an author s personality can be used to sketch a limited definition of his or her literature. Although the theme of deception pervades Twain s work, truth always emanates from both the plot and characters. While many Romantic authors elevate their childhoods to idealistic terms of good or bad, Twain walks the line between Romanticism and Realism. After romantically heralding the position of a steamboatman in Old Times on the Mississippi, a young Mark Twain realizes and expresses his new belief on the unfairness of life because of his recent knowledge about the rise of an ungodly boy to the position of a steamboatman. Twain writes, This thing shook the bottom out of all my Sunday school teachings (275). Instead of glossing over his young self s questioning nature, Twain acknowledges the ability to question the authority of the church, even if it is based on jealousy. Similar in honesty and naivete to the young Twain is the forthright Huckleberry Finn. He will not accept society s conventions about both religion and history, and he denounces the Widow Douglass story about Moses and the Bulrushers. Huck states, so then I didn t care no more about him, because I don t take no stock in dead people (26). Huck ceaselessly disdains efforts to civilize him, but the Widow Douglass continues to try to change him. Functional Analysis (FA) is a tool used to identify a functional relationship. In order to establish this relationship, a problematic behavior is operationally defined. Then, the environmental antecedents and consequences of the behavior are systematically manipulated in well defined test and control conditions and the behavior is observed and measured. The goal of this is to identify the sources of reinforcement that maintain the behavior. Thus, the function of the behavior can be determined (Iwata Dozier, 2008; Jackson, 2017). Gay moved to London with no expectation of writing a satirical musical. Coming from no money, no title, and no useful contacts he tried to find his own destiny. He took a job as an apprentice to a silk merchant in an attempt to build his status. After realizing that he did not want to pursue a career in silk, he moved on to working in a theater. He was then offered a jobs working for different nobilities in London, gaining substantial connections with various members of the arts community. Through his time with the upper crust of London, he noticed a flaw in society. His view on the upper class along with his connections, his love for music, and his ability to write poetry led to the writing of The Beggar s Opera. Anything from stepping off a curb to landing after a jump contributes the impact our bodies withstand daily. Aside from the impact due to daily routine, runners add an extra amount of force during exercise. The most basic cause of injury while running is considered to be ground reaction force. Ground reaction force is the force that the ground exerts on the body during contact. while wearing shoes throughout the day we are experiencing a change in strike pattern. In the book Born to Run, the writers suggest that running with shoes has an effect on landing pattern of the footduring running. Sometimes, a great invention that brings advantages to humankind just needs our creativity. When we are able to think critically and creatively, a lot of things will be definitely different. For an instance, if Newton did not think deeply why the apple will fall to the ground instead of accelerate towards the sky, then he will never realise the gravity. Therefore, we would like to introduce a simple and nice rekindle candle invented by Benjamin Shine. In the past, candle played an important role in each family whenever power cut and brought us precious and unforgettable memories with shadow games. Nowadays, candle has become a dispensable presence as its role to bring light in the dark has been replaced by torch and flashlight. But sometimes when we want to revive our childhood memories or have a candlelight dinner with our loved ones, we could not find a single candle because we did not buy a new one when the old candles burnt out. This is the moment when we need a candle that is reusable so we can use it for plenty times. The clever candle holder is so simple that many would wonder how comes we did not think about it before? • 26. Satire In Greek Comedy Satirical methods have been introduced since the beginning of history as a form of entertainment and a way to get a message across. This is demonstrated through Greek comedies in particular. Greek comedies were typically written to address the common people of that area through actions and words that they would find humorous. Not much has changed today. Comedy and satirical methods are still present and continue to hold a place in current society. The Acharniansis a clear example of an ancient Greek play that uses satireto relay a message, and The Word: Armistice is a news broadcast that plays as evidence that satirical methods used in the past are still present today. Both hold many similarities, and their differences reveal how much society and satire have changed throughout the years. The Acharnians is a satirical, ancient Greek play by playwright Aristophanes demonstrating a main theme of peace. The play is set during the Peloponnesian war which was primarily fought between Sparta and Athens. Dicaeopolis, the protagonist of the play who yearns for peace, impatiently waits for an assembly to begin and will only stand for speeches that speak of creating peace. However, the general assembly and Athenians are not interested in creating peace. At the assembly, Dicaeopolis meets Amphitheus who claims to be an immortal god. Amphitheus gives him a private peace treaty with Sparta in exchange for eight drachmas. Throughout the play, Dicaepolis is showered with luxurious belongings due to private trade with the enemies of Athens while Lamachus, a belligerent war hero, is living in terrible conditions due to war. Dicaepolis convinces the chorus, or common people of the play that maybe war isn t worth the suffering it brings and that Athenians share more similarities with the people of Sparta than originally thought of. As a result of this, Dicaepolis is celebrated as a hero at the end of the play. Playwright Aristophanes uses a series of satirical methods to present his theme of peace throughout The Acharnians. In Heart of Darkness, Conrad reverses the traditional associations with Europeans and natives to argue that the success of a society depends on its level of morality, which is absent in imperialism. As a result of privatization, deregulation, the opening up of national economies to foreign firms, and the growing participation of national economic actors in global markets that has change quite drastically since the 1980s. These changes have led to a new system in the world economy in which nation states are losing their importance relative to other subnational special units; mostly cities and regions, global electronic markets, and free trade blocks. Cities are now able to specialize in certain aspects of the economy, and for big corporations it often makes economic sense to centralize all of their activities in one place anymore. Because of technological advancement firms can now divide their activities over multiple places all over the globe to where it strategically makes most sense. During the period of June 2013 and June 2014 there was around 18,900 new buildings completed as provided by the UK government (Government stats, 2014). A factor that may affect demand is the rapid increase in population due to both immigration and migration; with the increase in population there is an increasing number of businesses looking for commercial property. • 42. The New Deal And Social Security Act Of 1935 Essay Poverty, Rehabilitation, and Legislation: The New Deal and Social Security Act of 1935. Jacquelyn R. Ward United States History II: 1865 Present September 27, 2016 After the Great Depression, many Americans were left disheveled. They needed some form of financial assistance to help them get their lives back to normal. Many government officials such as Hurbert Hoover and Franklin D. Roosevelt helped to enact bills and programs that would assist Americans in rehabilitating their lives. The amount of unemployed workers, the economic relief for retired workers, and the creation of legislature directed towards financial stability all illustrate that the most important effects that the New Deal legislation had on the American government was a liberal one.. The Great Depression left the American banking system in shambles and left the American people broken and scared for their futures. There were several causes that led up to the enactment of the New Deal and the Social Security Act. A major cause was Black Tuesday. This was the largest stock market crash in U.S. history that took place on October 29, 1929. The crash happened because wealthy Americans used their revenue to speculate in real estate and the stock market rather than invest in new businesses. Another cause was U.S. banks issuing loans and credits to foreign governments in the amount of billions of dollars. Prior to the Great Depression and the enactment of the FERA, relief was based on the poor laws. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Spenserian Sonnet inherited the tradition of the declamatory couplet of Wyatt / Surrey although Spenser used Sicilian quatrains to develop a metaphor, conflict, idea or question logically, with the declamatory couplet resolving it. Beyond the prerequisite for all sonnets, the defining features of the Spenserian Sonnet are: a quatorzain made up of 3 Sicilian quatrains (4 lines alternating rhyme) and ending in a rhyming couplet metric, primarily iambic pentameter. rhymed, rhyme scheme ababbcbccdcdee. composed with a volta (a non physical gap) or pivot (a shifting or tilting of the main line of thought) sometime after the 2nd quatrain. Thus, while the sonnet finally celebrates America s victory on Manila bay, that extreme joy is yet destroyed by the first eight verses that shows our fighting spirit though our troubled history has only lacked its brightness(dimmed). Perhaps, it should have been sunset over Manila bay because foreigners often enjoy its view during sunset, but the poet chose moonlight, not because it is more romantic(dramatic effect) but because, as the poem suggests, it is under cover of darkness that foreigners stole our country from us The deep s bare bosom that the breeze molests is a metaphor for American colonization. So in our reading now, we understand that Maramag s insistence on our own scene so fair in fact becomes a chief motive and inspiration for the Filipino poet. Her visibility as a subject in literature, popular culture, and painting, from Redon who paints her drowning, to Bob Dylan, who places her on Desolation Row, to Cannon Mills, which has named a flowery sheet pattern after her, is in inverse relation to her invisibility in Shakespearean critical texts. According to David Leverenz, in an important essay called The Woman in Hamlet. Hamlet s disgust at the feminine passivity in himself is translated into violent revulsion against women, and into his brutal behaviour towards Ophelia. Ophelia s suicide, Leverenz argues, then becomes a microcosm of the male world s banishment of the female, because woman represents everything denied by reasonable men. To liberate Ophelia from the text, or to make her its tragic center, is to re appropriate her for our own ends; to dissolve her into a female symbolism of absence is to endorse our own marginality; to make her Hamlet s anima is to reduce her to a metaphor of male experience. I would like to propose instead that Ophelia does have a story of her own that feminist criticism can tell; it is neither her life story, nor her love story, nor Lacan s story, but rather the history of her representation. This essay tries to bring together some of the categories of French feminist thought about the feminine with the empirical energies of American historical and critical research; to yoke French theory and Yankee knowhow.
