Essay For Orchestra
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Essay for Orchestra" presents a unique set of challenges that
delve beyond the typical essay-writing experience. Unlike more straightforward subjects, delving
into the realm of orchestral essays demands a profound understanding of music theory,
composition, and the intricate nuances of orchestral arrangements.
The complexity lies not only in the technical aspects of orchestration but also in conveying the
emotional and artistic essence of a musical piece through words. Describing the auditory beauty
of a musical composition can be a daunting task, as it requires the ability to translate abstract
sensations into a coherent and engaging written form.
Moreover, capturing the essence of an orchestral essay involves a delicate balance between
subjective interpretation and objective analysis. It requires a keen ear and an appreciation for the
subtleties of musical expression. Articulating the impact of different instruments, the interplay of
melodies, and the overarching themes can be as challenging as conducting an orchestra itself.
Furthermore, research for such an essay goes beyond traditional literature reviews, delving into
musical scores, historical contexts, and the biographies of composers. It demands a
comprehensive exploration of the cultural, social, and artistic influences that shaped the
orchestral piece in question.
In conclusion, tackling an essay on the topic of "Essay for Orchestra" is a formidable task that
requires a unique blend of musical knowledge, writing prowess, and the ability to convey the
intangible beauty of music through words. It is a journey that challenges not only the intellect but
also the soul, as one attempts to articulate the ineffable.
For those seeking assistance in navigating this intricate path, and for a myriad of other topics, it's
worth considering professional help. Similar essays and much more can be ordered through

complex subjects into eloquent and compelling written works.

J. Bruce Ismay Is Responsible For The Sinking Of The
Titanic
The Titanic was the biggest ship built in the 1900s. The Titanic is very important
to us because it helps us remember the people who went down with their ship.
Back then the Titanic was just not a ship that people went on it was a Royal Mail
Ship. The Titanic is very important because people are still arguing about who is
responsible for the sinking of the Titanic. I believe J. Bruce Ismay is responsible
for the sinking of the Titanic because he was more powerful than Captain Smith.
Although some people think Captain Smith is responsible for the sinking of the
Titanic. However, I think that it is J. Bruce Ismay because he told Captain Smith
to accelerate the speed of the ship after they received 7 ice warnings. They say that
Captain Smith didn t put as many people on the lifeboats as he could and that s
true, but Ismay didn t have enough lifeboats for everyone on the ship. When Ismay
saw the iceberg, it was too close so he took a 90% angle and got a hole on... Show

Bruce Ismay because he put pressure on Captain Smith. Like he told him to stay
the same pace as they were going when they received the ice warning. A few more
examples are that he ignored all dispatch calls and didn t tell Captain Smith, and
didn t have enough lifeboats for everyone on the ship. There are still a lot more
reasons why I think Ismay is responsible for the sinking of the Titanic. There are
many little things J. Bruce Ismay did that, it makes me think that he is responsible
for the sinking of the Titanic. Like he did not take time to test the ship and take
precautions and that is the important thing you need to do before you get the ship
on the water. One more thing I am pinning J. Bruce Ismay on is that he skipped
over a good crew and did not have a good person for every single job on the Titanic.
One last major thing that he did was that he took a lifeboat for himself and the crew
was not supposed to take a lifeboat they were supposed to go down with the

Canada is home to some of the largest mining corporations in the world. In fact,
seventy five percent of the world s mining companies are based in Canada (Dean,

including silver, petroleum, bitumen and coal. Canadian mining operations also have
a particular focus in gold, as twenty one of the country s top forty miningcompanies
are involved in gold extraction. With billion dollar annual revenues and interests in
almost every continent, these multinational companies are making a large impact
around the globe (Canadian Mining Journal, 2014). However, these impacts are not

Environmental and Human Rights Violations Most mining projects aim to exploit

minorities (U.S. Office, 2013). Many times, when mining operations commit
environmental violations, they commit human rights violations as well. For this
reason, it is hard to separate these two types of violations. Large scale, open pit
mining by Canadian corporations is responsible for a myriad of environmental
infractions, not only affecting ecosystems, but also having a profound, direct or
indirect, impact on the lives of millions living in Latin America.
1.1 Water Violations
Water is one of the most affected resources in the region due to mining operations
as mass mining extractions are having detrimental effects on surface and ground
water (Cereceda, 2007). First, there is the problem of Acid Mine Drainage, or
AMD. Naturally, sulphuric acid is produced when sulphides in rocks are exposed to
water and air. AMD, however, is a result of this process being greatly magnified.
Large quantities of rocks containing sulphides are excavated in these open pit mines,
reacting to water and air and creating sulphuric acid. This acid leaches out of the
rock, sometimes for

Oscar Romero Analysis
Oscar Romero was a El Salvadoran Christian leader (archbishop of San Salvador)
who was dedicated to standing up for human rights and speaking out against the
repression and persecution of the El Salvadoran people. He was motivated by both
personal and spiritual reasons, such as the death of his friend and fellow priest,
Father Grande, who was murdered by soldiers under orders of a corrupt government,
fuelled his desire to stop the corrupt endeavours of political leaders. He took the
mistreatment of people of the church, both with the torture and killings of priests and
followers alike, as a spiritual transgression and spoke out openly numerous times
throughout his time as archbishop. Despite the amount of overwhelming negative

Analysis Of The Twilight Saga
The Cullen Family: More than just Blood Sucking Vampires
The Twilight Saga, by Stephanie Meyer, has been viewed as a narrative of either
teenage lust or romantic love characterized by Bella, a private seventeen year old
girl, and Edward, a mysterious vampire who goes to Bella s high school; Yet no
one has credited the Cullen s in the full light they deserve, in the way that they
display family loyalty, self control, and altruism among their family of vampires.
The book series infatuated the hearts of teenage girls across the world, and even
expanded upon those horizons to reach an audience so wide that the book series
became a household name. Critics have endlessly discussed the love, or lust, of the
two individuals and are fascinated by the fact that the TwilightSaga falls not just in
the genre of romance, but also in the supernatural/ horror category. Maple, in an
article that discusses this barrier breaking love that Bella and Edward display, states
throughout the story Bella and Edward share an unorthodox relationship, a love
above and beyond all others: something more expressive of eternal commitment
(Maple). Maple emphasizes how deep and rare the love between the two adolescents
is, and I would argue that human s innate desire for this kind of love is one of the
main reasons why Twilight became so widespread. However, another basis for the
obsession of the books is simply because The Cullen s, the family in which Edward
belongs to, represent vampires in a
Disney And Female Stereotypes Of Women In Disney
For decades Disney has given the wrong impression of female gender roles. Today
many of the aspects such as women being the weaker sex and set roles for each
denomination have not changed as much as the society thinks. Looking at male and
female characters in animations, one can see how those two genders are portrayed
differently in terms of their roles. In this case, Disney has crossed the line portraying
genderstereotypes to their films, especially stereotypes of women. Disney films are
creating major problems by teaching society how women should act and look. In a
research made by Hanes, Stephanie from The Christian Science Monitor , She
decided to research the princess phenomenon, and what she found worried her. She
found that the $4 billion Disney Princess Empire was the first step down a path to
scarier challenges, from self objectification to cyberbullying to unhealthy body

The Importance of History Many Americans do not appreciate history. They do not
take the time to delve into how the United States was founded, and how it has stood
for many years as the symbol of hope. For more than two hundred years, the United
States has stood under many beliefs, but all have been defended with the blood of
many fallen heroes. When countries told the United States to submit, it stood firm.
When war was at America s footsteps, she planted her feet and said, No, you move.
America s history is vast. America has had missteps, but at the end of the day she is
worth defending. Eighteen percent of eighth graders are not proficient in history,
which in turn are the future Americans who will take charge of America. These
future leaders must learn that many men and women have died for their freedom,
and many mistakes have been made that need to be addressed and learned more
about. Parents, your children must learn the history of this great country. Ask
yourself, do not we owe it to the future of America to learn our wrong doings and
our greatest achievements? This country will not know where it is going, if it does
not know where it came from. If students do not know the wars fought in this
country, students will never understand the sacrifices made for their freedom. A
survey conducted by Common Core showed out of 1,200 seventeen year olds, nearly
a quarter could not identify Adolf Hitler, less that
Abraham Lincoln s Inaugural Address Analysis
Abraham Lincoln s inaugural addresses as president of the United States in 1861 and
1865 come in the time of a nation that had seen sectionalist thoughts divide the people
from the region over the issue of slavery. Abraham Lincoln stated thoughts that
remained constant between his two addresses to the nation and a few inconsistent
points on the national identity of the United States, the issue of slavery, and the future
of a reunified Union. Abraham Lincolnstated multiple time throughout both speeches
that the people must continue to preserve the Union and that they must not be
enemies, but friends. Lincoln did not just repeat the same speech twice as he has to
address the imminent civil war indirectly in one speech and portray the Union... Show

He viewed slavery as immoral and an institution that God must have wanted to be
removed in his second inaugural address. Even as the war was ending, the nation
was divided on the issue of slavery and there were protests and an entire war going
on with one side for and one side against slavery. This can be related to the latest
presidential election in 2016 in which Donald Trump was voted president of the
United States over his opposition, Hillary Clinton. Although the violence was
significantly less and nowhere near that of a full scale war, at Donald Trump
rallies and at other times supporters of Donald Trump instigated fights with Latinos
telling them to go on the other side of the wall [which Trump plans to build
between the U.S. and Mexico] . At other times, brawls broke out between Trump
and Hillary supporters, and they were again started by the Trump supporters. The
two candidates for president had vastly different views for where to take America, as
did the Union and the Confederacy which were fighting over slavery during Lincoln
s second address. In addition, both the election and the war to end slavery are similar
in the fact that there was a controversial issue that would affect the demographics of
the citizens of America. In the election that was preventing immigration to the U.S.

Adding 4700 more daily CP would amount to $38,775 in profits per day, assuming a
profit margin $8.25.
Competition:
Competition for CP lies in the Emergency and Rush services. Emergency services
received maximum speed and was the most costly. Purolator Courier Corporation,
Shulman Sky Cab, Delta Dash are all companies that provide the service. However,
the average Emergency service cost was $30, and CPs cost significantly lower. The
average Rush cost was around $10, and although CPs are most expensive, they are
at a competitive price by offering competitive advantages. The most specific service
competitor is U.S. Postal Service s Express Mail, which costs $6.00 per package.
How should FEC market CP? Which industries should FEC focus on?
FEC should market to those who are not Executives, as they already have them as
customers, but rather any and all industries. The Manufacturing and Distributing
industry uses the most CP monthly, and we would like to see the other similar
industries use just as much. Any industry that transports small goods can utilize the
service.
The 5 minimum purchase costs $62.50, which creates a barrier for those who are
willing and able to send something within a tight time constraint. Envelopes should
be provided for free, and charged upon the actual service of mailing out the package.
Corporations enjoy flexibility. We believe that CPs should be marketed as a product
that is great for reliability and speed, making a point that they

Summary Of Planned Parenthood Vs Casey Case
When laws or executive orders defy the Constitution, the Supreme Court is
responsible for deciding between competing American values.. The Court ensures
the basic rights of its citizens are protected and defines civil liberties. In 1992,
Planned Parenthood v. Casey addressed the issues concerning abortion because of
the Pennsylvania Abortion Control Act of 1982. This ruling was important to the
nation because individual liberty was being denied to women. The values that were
in conflict in Casey was the basic liberty for women to control reproduction and the
protection of unborn babies. When a woman sought an abortion, she was denied her
individual right to decide over her body and was required to get permission to have

As a consequence, the ruling set the path toward new restrictive abortion laws that
can completely block having an abortion. In Whole Woman s Health v. Hellerstedt

the majority states, When a State severely limits access to safe and legal

their health and safety ( Whole Woman s Health v. Hellerstedt Cornell 10). Having
limited options to an abortion will lead women to another alternative that consists
of an unsafe abortion. While this ruling upheld women s right to a safe and legal
abortion, States still have the opportunity to intervene and persuade women to not
get an abortion as seen in Hellerstedt. Through the rulings made in Roe, Casey, and
Hellerstedt, society has slowly progressed in accepting women have the basic
liberty to control reproduction. Some individuals have learned to put aside their
religious and moral beliefs when it comes to making a decision that will affect
women. Overall, the United States still remains at conflict over the controversial
subject of abortion. We as a nation have learned women have the basic liberty to
decide over their body and terminate a pregnancy,

Decision Making Process Of The Theory Of Organization
Decision Making Decision making process is a way to get a final choice on
achieving goals or solving problems among several alternatives. In classical theory
of organization, it was believed that only top managers perform as the decision
makers. It regards the employees as instrument (March and Simon 1993). However,
In Simon and March s view (1993), employees are not just instrument, they are
indeed rational people that think, act, and decide on their own in organizations. The
decisions they made not only are affected by their knowledge and information
received, but also their ability to solve problems, attitudes, personal goals and values.
Organization is a system that made up of many individual decision makers.

In the past, people commonly believed in the hierarchical descriptions of organization
because its efficiency and it fits more general cultural norms for describing social
relations in terms of domination and subordination (March and Simon 1993
Revisited). However, in Organizations, Simon and March (1993) contend that the
central unifying construct is not hierarchy but decision making, and the flow of
information within organizations that instructs, informs, and supports decision
making processes . In order to identify how Simon and March develops the
understanding of organization through decision making, people need to understand
why the classical theory is regarded as improper. The first point is the rationality. In
classical method, the rational man makes optimal choices with conditions that there
are already several alternatives simply given with no reasons why it is obtained and
consequences attached to each alternatives. The decision makers have their own
preferences and choose the one they think to be most optimal. However, since not all
consequences of alternatives are certain or can be predicted, and the conditions are
too perfectly imagined, the classical theory of rational man involves difficulties. It
cannot be imagined in advance what will happen to an organization, or how the
environment will change, not everything proceeds under people s expectations. It is
not like during a dinner, several dishes are

Lemert Progressed The Labelling Theory Of Deviance
Lemert progressed the labelling theory by suggesting that there was a primary and
secondary stage of deviance.Primary deviances are acts which haven t been publicly
defined as deviant, due to the fact that they re minor and insignificant incidents of
rule breaking. Whilst secondary deviance are acts which have been publicly listed
and labeled as deviant. Lemert argued that it was society s attempt to control
primary deviance that led to secondary deviance. If there was no reaction, there
would be no secondary deviance. (Robert Van Krieken, 2013) Societal
reactions.Social control agencies responses towards the deviant, greatly affect
deviance outcomes. Instead of minimising deviance the police can cause deviance to

Taking a Look at Malaria
Proposed Disease: Malaria
What is malaria?
What exactly is malaria? Malaria is a disease caused by certain mosquitoes passing
on parasites when feeding on people. The most common malaria parasite and is
known to be the deadliest is plasmodium falciparum (figure 1). Once this parasite
has enters the body, it takes a few weeks before it multiply into thousands and infects
red blood cells. According to Malaria No More, it is also known that plasmodium
falciparum is carried and transmitted by only female anopheles mosquito and feed on
people between the time of 9pm to 5am (Malaria No More).
According to Malariasymptons.org, once a person is infected with malaria or the
parasite plasmodium falciparum, they will experience fever like sickness. The
symptoms include fever, sweats, shaking chills, headaches, muscle aches, nausea,
vomiting and diarrhea (malariasymptoms.org). If malaria is not treated right away, it
can lead to serious health issues for the person who is infected. It may eventually lead
to kidney failure, seizures, mental confusion, coma, bleeding due to blood clots and
even death (malaria symptoms.org).
Malaria parasites were first founded in mosquitoes who were reserved in amber and
was approximately 30 million years old. It was known that parasites originated from
Africa and from those who caught the parasites from chimpanzees and gorillas. One
of the earliest protections from malaria were the Egyptians using large amounts of
garlic and using bed

algorithm sorts and delivers. Instead where this power manifests and consolidates
is on platforms that draw the attention of audiences and revolve around the role
played by algorithms. Using institutional theory, automodernity, and the concept of
algorithmic publics, we can start to map out a growing and potential field of
research that attempts to measure and explore the growing role and influence of
algorithmic media on audiences and therefore society. Especially when in the form
of platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Google, etc. Tarleton Gillespie (2010) is a
vocal critic of the evolving relationship between the new media industries and their
audiences, in particular drawing issue with the use of the word platform , arguing
that it provides a false vision of technical neutrality and progressive openness (360)
when the reality is quite the opposite. Rather than regard platforms as a level playing
field we should instead regard them as what they are, slanted towards the interests of
the owner, serving specific commercial needs and interests. Gillespie argues in a later
paper (2015) that platforms exercise considerable power in their ability to make
interventions, whether that involves shaping how the platforms are used, or more
importantly deleting content or users of the platform itself. They internalize the
Pretty In Pink Character Analysis
1.Pretty in Pink and Some Kind of Wonderful are two films both written by John
Hughes and directed by Howard Deutch. They depict themes similar to that of The
Breakfast Club. Central themes such as class and popularity along with secondary
themes of angst, love, self discovery, fitting in, and the need to connect with others
are prevalent throughout both of these films. Pretty in Pinkis a prime example for the
depiction of class and popularity. Its strong main characters, Andie and Blane,
contrast in both of these categories and they develop into deeper story lines as the
movie progresses. Class is a strong theme throughout the entire film and is
presented in unforgettable scenes. Everyone is nervous walking into their first big
high school house party, but the look on Andies face as her and Blane walk through
the door is unforgettable. Clearly someone of a different social status, Andie, a true
fashion icon, dresses how she desires but sticks out like a sore thumb amongst the
upper class teens. No one can forget the iconic line, Nice pearls. This isn t a dinner
party, honey , uttered at Andie in this scene. The clear and evident vulnerability of
Andie shows just how uncomfortable she is in this setting along with the guiltiness of
Blane for having brought her there. Class divides their two worlds and creates
conflict throughout the film. A secondary theme that is very popular and might be
controversial in the ending is love. Notable with John Hughesfilms are
Tim Tebow Essay
When one think of Tim Tebow what comes to mind? Outspoken Christian, success
football player, fantastic book writer, or current right fielder for the New York Mets.
Much of his life is explained in his book Through My Eyes (2011). Tebow was born
August 14, 1987 in Makati, (Tebow, 2011). As a young kid Tebow was a very active
kid playing very many sports his favorite being football (Tebow, 2011). Many of
weekends were filled with the word of god and sporting events whether it be football
or baseball (Tebow, 2011). According to Tebow (2011) he and his brothers would go
out for hours and practice baseball and football. Tebow was the youngest of five so
he had a lot working against him when it came to playing with his brothers (Tebow,

Tebow won the heisman his sophomore year and a national championship in his
senior year at florida (Tebow, 2011). It was more of his social life he got to talk to
a lot more people since he wasn t homeschooled anymore (Tebow, 2011). It also
promoted him to do a lot of good such as charity events, hospital visits to sick kids,
and other things (Tebow, 2011). This ties back in with another well known idea
which is be humble no matter how successful you are. It shows that when one
achieves success and doesn t go around bragging about it how much of a bigger
person they are. Tebow again is a very good example of this. At an early age his
parents told him that you are only to talk about your success on field when someone
asks about it (Tebow, 2011). This has helped Tebow keep a good reputation
throughout his whole life which has helped him out in other things then just the
football field. It has presented him with a lot of opportunities whether it s
scholarships and sport related things or business opportunities such as the book he
wrote. The book he wrote through my eyes was a new york times bestseller (Tebow,

Analyzing an Advertisement for a Book of the Christian Faith
In our society today large numbers of people practice some sort of religion.
Realizing how many people inhabit the world today it s not hard to believe that there
are literally thousands of religions out there. Making a choice as to what religion you
fit into can be a daunting task. Even if you already practice a set religion sometimes
its hard to know if you are putting your faith in the right hands so to speak. People
get into a religion and they think that their beliefs are right and everyone else s are
wrong or twisted. Also people want the religion they are practicing to be the
preferred religion of the country or of the world. So from the beginning of history

This sets the scene, letting you know that you are probably looking at an American
city. All around this building are other buildings almost as tall as the center one if it
weren t for the tower sitting on top of it. The other buildings all seem to be
apartment buildings squeezed quite close together, giving the impression that this is
a rather large city. You can see the top of a street light from the point where it starts
to bend in the lower right corner.
All around this picture there are people floating in the air around the city block.
Most of them are floating in the sky above the buildings but some are at the level
of the building roofs and even lower. There are some people all the way down at
the bottom of the picture around the height of the streetlight. A few of the people
in the picture are looking toward the sky as if to ask a question but most of them
are going about their daily business. There is a wide variety of people depicted in
the picture. Most of the people are businessmen and women that are dressed in
suits, some are holding umbrellas and some are not, others are talking on a cell
phone or reading a paper. Dispersed among these businessmen there are some
construction personnel wearing hardhats, a teenager on a skateboard, a few students
holding books or a backpack, a few characters that could be described as punks, and

Persuasive Essay Friends
Pre Test Persuasive Essay Friends is a hit television (tv) show, and has been since
1994 when it first came out. The television show follows the lives of six friends
throughout the course of 10 years. Friends is a good tv show despite some people s
opinions. The show was at the top of the charts for the years that it ran, and even
more after that. The theme song itself was number 1 for 8 weeks, and after that was
still within the top numbers (Billboard Staff, 2015). Even though the show is aimed
for a mature audience, it captures the qualities a hit tv show needs. Friendsis a good tv
show due to the fact that it is a comedy, includes lots of plot twists, and follows one
basic storyline.
To begin, the genre of Friends is comedy. This is the ideal genre for this show
because comedies keep people in a good mood while they watch it. Even on a bad
day, a comedy can amuse, entertain, and provoke enjoyment, (AMC Filmsite,
2017). Also, comedy is one of the most popular choices within adult audiences.
52% of adults watch comedy tv shows, with the only category having a higher
percentage being movies at 58% (Scarborough, 2013). As well as, comedy can
mean more than one thing. Multiple types of comedy exist, as there are many ways
to make someone laugh. Friends does a very good job of touching on many different
kinds of comedy. Friends is one of the most popular genres of television, and includes
elements that draw people s interest.
Not only is Friends a comedy, it includes multiple plot twists. One of these plot
twists is when Monica and Chandler start to date. Throughout the show up until
this point, Monica spends time to tell Chandler that she is not interested which is
especially outlined in an episode set at the beach, where Chandler tries to find any
way to make Monica say she d date him. An example of this is that he says Okay,
there s an apocalypse and we are the last two people on Earth... and Monica still
responds with eh. This is what caused the decision for them to start dating to be a
shock to everyone watching. Another plot twist was when Rachel got pregnant. This
was clever writing because the show had been more focused on Monica and Chandler
at that point, and when the pregnancy test was
Essay We Must Promote Diversity in the Workplace
Diversity is what makes people different, not just culturally but in human
differences. Having a multitude of differences in the workforce gives an
organization the ability to use many ideas to reach a common goal. A person could
say that a diverse group of people together in one room can accomplish greater
achievements than a room filled with the same types of individuals. Managers
understand the concept of diversity, and how important diversity is to the success of
a company s ability to implement programs that continue to develop a harmonious
and diverse workplace. The recognition that diversity is a reality in the workforce has
generated an enormous amount of activity over the years among leaders in business,
government, and civil... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cultural differences in the workplace can sometimes become a challenge in the
work environment. In order to facilitate these differences, there must be some form
of cultural awareness. Cultural awareness can help employees face the challenge of
responding to individuals with different religions in the workplace, expose religious
practices, and eliminate stereotyping in the workplace. Awareness of religions, and
the beliefs associated with different religions, can be accomplished in many ways,
such as training courses, workshops or company handouts (Thomas Kochan, 2003,
p. 4). Companies must embrace multiculturalism and diversity. The impact of
diversity is a successful learning experience for companies, and is equally as
important to a company as its mission statement because of the educational and
work ethics of its employees. Awareness and knowledge of diversity in addition to
the similarities that humans possess can build relationships between employees and
employers. Diversity helps employees and employers to be well educated and
informed as to what forms a person s values, attitudes, and behaviors. Many
organizations are beginning to view diversity as an organizational change. This could
possibly mean changes in the power dynamics and organizational structure, the way
decisions are made, and the way an
How Employees Define Understands, And Link Engagement

Purpose Researchers have found only 30% of employees in the United States are
actively engaged in the workplace (Gallup 2013). In 2010, data provided by the US
Bureau of Labor Statistics (as cited in Moreland, 2013) show more individuals are
voluntarily quitting their jobs. With over 70% of US workers disengaged, this topic
has arguably prompted an interest that continues to be earnestly pursued by many. As
a result, the Gallup Q12 expands the need for additional research based on their
finding of employee engagement. The purpose of this descriptive qualitative research
is to explore how employees define understands, and link engagement to productivity
within the workplace. Without a well defined rigor understanding of engagement,
employees remain unfocused, disengaged, and unproductive during working hours.
Moreland (2013) found that too many individuals pursue opportunities that are not
aligned with their experience, behavioral competencies, and education background.
This impact of disengaged productivity undermine the success of other co workers,
and decrease employee morale across organizations. By exploring these factors this
research will capture data that represent the contributing influences to improve the
levels of engagement to increase productivity.

Gossip Girl And Jane Austen s Pride And Prejudice
Jane Austen s Pride and Prejudice tells the story of the agonizing romance between
Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy. In eighteenth century class conscious
England, wealthy families married for money and a stable reputation. Many critics
argue that people no longer marry for money but instead for love. However, sugar
mommies, daddies, and babies are more prevalent in the twenty first century than is
publicly shown. Cecily von Ziegesar s Gossip Girl, originally chick literature turned
major drama television series, portrays the romantic struggles of Manhattan s East
Side upper class. Despite being set in the twenty first century, Gossip Girlis arguably
a more dramatic, high quality adaptation of Jane Austen s Pride and Prejudice. Gossip
Girl, an American television drama, had six seasons, all told by the narrator
Gossip Girl. Gossip Girl runs a highly popular blog that gives the Upper East Side
adolescents little to no privacy. Serena van der Woodsen, one of the main
characters, had just returned to Manhattan for high school classes at the Constance
Billard School for Girls and St. Jude s School for Boys. Serena s best friend Blair
Waldorf is queen bee of the Constance Billard School for Girls, and throughout the
seasons, Blair, Serena, and younger classmates fight for the queen bee status.
Additionally, Gossip Girl features the poorer, aspiring writer Dan Humphrey, the

Summary Of Fanny Trollope s The Domestic Manners Of
The...
Fanny Trollope, an English novelist and writer, travelled to America in the early 19th
century for a glimpse of life outside of England. In her work, The Domestic Manners
of the Americans , Trollope captured her experience in countless opinionated, highly
critical observations that judged Americans based on their behaviors and practices.
Many aspects of Americanlife captured Trollope s attention, but these aspects were
not seen in a positive light. It was obvious through her story that Trollope did not
care for the American life; however, there seemed to be much more to Trollope s
opinions besides petty distastes. Trollope found the American lifestyle repulsive
because it seemed to revolve around pride in their impolite and offensive behavior,
creating an environment of arrogance and superiority over outsiders like herself. In
the beginning of her stay in America, Trollope was enjoying a cup of tea in her
hotel when she was abruptly confronted by the hotel s landlord. He knocked on her
door and demanded that Trollope leave, saying I cannot accommodate you on these
terms; we have no family tea drinkings here, and you must live either with me or
my wife, or not at all in my house (Trollope 34). When Trollope tried to explain that
she was a foreigner and unaware of American customs, the landlord added Our
mannersare very good manners, and we don t wish any changes from England
(Trollope 34). The landlord s actions were uncalled for in Trollope s opinion; his
authority and pride seemed almost comical. He was so adamant about control
over the room, yet the room itself was certainly not anything noteworthy. The room
was described by Trollope as being subpar, as it had no carpet, and was darkened
by blinds of paper (Trollope 33). The landlord took great pride in American manners
and seemed to think that any English practices were inferior. Ironically, in other parts
of her work, Trollope reported her experience in America to be one filled with awful
mannered people. She was disgusted with their poor manners, like the incessant,
remorseless spitting of Americans (Trollope 11). All of these factors combined led to
her feeling totally unwelcome, stating that [the landlord], in truth, strongly resembled
Analysis Of Lemony Snicket s Series Of Unfortunate Events
Reader Response
I first read Lemony Snicket s Series of Unfortunate Events when I was 10 years old.
Having little patience, I planned to just skim through but found myself immediately
immersed in the story and the writing style. The author uses clever techniques to
appeal to both children and older readers, which allowed me to remain engaged with
the text. Snicket warns that, if you are interested in books with happy endings, you
would be better off reading some other book. I found myself attracted to the gothic
elements and darker nature of the text. I found it to be uniquely different to the
traditional fairy tales with a clichГ© happily ever after . A Series of Unfortunate

As a child, I often felt frustrated that adults would not always take me seriously. I
felt empowered by the idea that perhaps I too was capable of solving my own
problems as a self reliant and independent being.
Snicket is a clever and humorous narrator. He assists the reader with more
advanced words, explaining them in their given context. As a young reader, this
was very educational and helpful and allowed me to further understand and enjoy
the series. As an older reader, I came to realise that he did this in a comedic way.
For example, Snicket writes, It is now necessary for me to use the rather hackneyed
phrase meanwhile, back at the ranch. The word hackneyed here means used by so, so
many writers that by the time Lemony Snicket uses it, it is a tiresome clichГ©.
Snicket also introduces children to important concepts and ideas. He notes, your
initial opinion of things may change over time, and the children knew, as I m sure
you know, that the worst surroundings can be tolerated if the people in them are
interesting and kind. He also addressed more serious issues, acting as a moral
guide, but ensured these issues were not too overwhelming by maintaining a sense
of humour. He writes, stealing is not excusable if, for instance, you are in a museum
and you decide that a certain painting would look better in your house... But if you
were very very hungry, and you had no way of obtaining money, it might be
excusable to grab the painting, take it

Republican Presidential Debate Analysis
The Republican Presidential Debate was, as always, an intriguing experience for its
viewers. America has found itself in the odd position of having nine presidential
candidates from the Republican Party. Leaving politics (mostly) aside, it became
clear that most of these candidates rely on inspiring and capitalizing on the fears of
their voters. This conclusion is drawn from the fact that these candidates are poor
seemingly poor communicators. They are unfocused and unoriginal with their
platforms. The only defining characteristics are their various levels of confidence,
poise, and their body movements. As previously mentioned, the candidates lacked
focus. A common theme at the debate was their indirect responses. When asked a
question, the candidates would engage in a monologue criticizing the Democratic
Party (popular targets were Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama). The candidates
frequently went over their allotted response time without offering a substantive
response to questions asked of them. Marco Rubio was especially guilty of this, as
evidenced by moderators chiding him for being off topic. When asked of the country
s financial situation, Rubio, Bush, and Cruz fervently agreed that Clinton should be
banned from the White House and the military needed to be rebuilt. However, there

how horrible the Democrats were, especially Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.
They then progressed to how the military needed to be rebuilt and which one loved

anything to with the questions directed towards them, it did show that the party is

According to the Church Hubbard was a war hero and suffered combat injuries
including blindness and near total paralysis. He was commissioned as a
Lieutenant (junior grade) in the US Navy on July 19, 1941. He briefly
commanded an antisubmarine ship in the coastal waters off Oregon and California
where he claimed he disabled or sunk two Japanese submarines in May 1943. A
Navy investigation could not find any evidence that any submarine had been
destroyed. Hubbard was relieved of his command when he conducted unauthorized
gunnery practice off the coast of Coronado Island. According to the Navy he was
lacking the essential qualities of judgment, leadership and cooperation. The Church
claims that he received military medals that were not even in existence during the
time he served in the military. While serving in the navy, LRH met Commander
Joseph C. Snake Thompson a polymath and medical officer who exercised a
tremendous influence over him. It was from him that he picked up the ideas that If it

The Communication Strategies That Involving Actors
Adopted...
For this final case application I will be analysing the communication strategies that
involving actors adopted during the 2015 Paris terrorists attacks. The event was one
of Europe s most deadly attacks leaving more than 100 dead and more than 350
injured. Unfortunately however, this was not the first attackon Paris that same year, in
January 2015, terrorists attacked the Charlie Hebdo magazine headquarters killing
twelve people. The November attacks thus, occurred in a city that was already
shaken by terrorists attacks. On the night of November 13th, the attacks occurred in
different points of Paris including the Stade de France (where President Hollande
was), the Bataclan Theatre (where a concert was given) and many streets throughout
the city. All of the attacks occurred in less than an hour and were perpetrated by a
terrorist cell who had pledged allegiance to ISIS. ISIS claimed it had committed
these attacks as a response of French military engagement with the terrorist
organisation in Syria. However, the days after the attacks were carried out are
essential in order to take a grasp on understanding the crisis communication. After the
attack President François Hollande gave a ground breaking speech. He created a
clear us vs. them mentality amongst the French peoplethat would help unite not only
Parisians but all French citizens. After the attacks, Hollande immediately took action
by strengthening security in Paris and declared a nation wide Г©tat d urgence: public
Augustine What Is Evil Essay
Where then is evil, and what is its source, and how has it crept into the creation?
What is its root, what is its seed? 1 These are the first of the many inquiries that
Augustine makes in his work entitled the Confessions. In fact, the question of what is
evil is the main concern of Augustine, eventually leading the theologian from
Manicheanism, a heresy that Augustine spent nine years of his life practicing, back
into the arms of the Church. The Manichees are not willing to say that Godcreated
evil, and so therefore evil must have existed from the very beginning, possessing its
own being. At this time, Augustine has a very Platonist view of things and begins to
question this view of the Manichees. As a Platonist, Augustine asserts that all being
is fundamentally good because all being comes from a supreme Good, which is God.

In the Confessions, Augustine writes that the Manichean religion has a duelist view
of good and evil. He explains that the Manichees believe there to be two
metaphysical forces, God and Satan. Subsequently, there are two kingdoms: the
Kingdom of Light, created by the former, and the Kingdom of Darkness created by
the latter.3 The Kingdom of Light, he says, is associated with spirit, and the
Kingdom of Darkness with matter. The body, thus, is deemed to be evil in
Manichean thought because it is matter fighting against the soul, which was
understood to be a piece of the divine, broken off from the rest of God. The divine,
as a result, is imprisoned in the material world.4 Augustine further comments that the
Manichees find that humans beings are not responsible for their own actions since
it is darkness, or a desperate evil will in them, rather than their own will that causes
them to do evil.5 Because of all this, they believe that good and evil, spirit and
matter, are two opposite, independent, and equal forces in constant conflict with each
other. They believe evil is as powerful as

client as a therapeutic approach.. The major purpose for this is to create and achieve
a lasting change to the client so that the counseling process can be effective (McMinn,
1996).
Summary
In effect, Mark McMinn has utilized theology, spirituality and psychology to help
individuals in enhancing diverse concepts of their lives. Notably, the author
articulates clearly that the counselor should be strong particularly in their personal
spirituality. Hence, this is important because it is the only way to assist their clients
appropriately in the counseling process. The author also expounds on various
precautions, which counselors must take, as well as the limitations. Subsequently, it
can be challenging to incorporate the counselor s spirituality especially in their
counseling sessions since many of them are not confident since they lack adequate
knowledge about the Bible. Thus, this will result to
What s Evil, Anyway, By Cole Bowman
What are vampires? How has our perceptions of vampires changed throughout
centuries? Well there are many myths out in the whole world of vampires.
Vampires are creatures that are dead yet still walk among the living; all vampires
have fangs, they are afraid of the sunlight, they can shape shift and they drink the
blood of their victims. People say vampires are human corpses that return from the
grave to harm living and others say they are not humans at all that vampires are
supernatural, demonic creatures and not human form. What is evil? Evil is what is
morally wrong, sinful, or wicked. Vampires can be categorized as evil as said in the
article What s Evil, Anyway? by Cole Bowman. Vampires consume blood to survive
without taking in mind... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dracula has been described in many ways as a young man or even as an old grumpy
man. In this book, Bram Stoker described Dracula by stating, Within, stood all man,
clean shaven save for a long white moustache, and clad in black from head to foot,
without a single speck of colour about him anywhere . He described a man who
looked neat and clean but with no color as in he looked pale. As we get to know
more of Dracula s appearance in this novel he seems more unique and not so much
like a human. (Stoker 160). The writer also stated, His face was a strong a very
strong aquiline, with high bridge of the thin nose and peculiarly arched nostrils....
cruel looking, with peculiarly sharp white teeth . (Stoker 18). Back in the old
centuries people really did not know how vampires looked but now in modern
days as we hear the word vampires we imagine a man dressed in black with pale
skin and sharp teeth. Count Dracula was seen an evil creature who bit people and
took their soul. What is the description of a perfect man? A perfect man is someone
who cares about his love one and protects his more precious person in the world. In
the book Twilight Edward Cullen can be described as a perfect man by Bella. When
Bella and Edward met, she did not know who he really was. They both had a
connection towards each other, they were attracted to
Counterfeiting Is Wrong
We re told that Piracy and counterfeiting are wrong, but how bad are they? When
you think about it, we all want the same things; Whether it s to see the newest
episode of that hit TV series or watching a new movie, we want just that! Theater
prices are already ridiculous and cable companies are nickel and diming customers
monthly making it almost impossible to afford TV entertainment. I say, go for that
new streaming device and I can guarantee you that you will find someone who will
offer a counterfeit, also known as an imitation of a good not consented for re
distribution , device that s equipped with pirated downloads for a small fee and you
re all set to cut those cable ties. We live in a technological world and people are eager
to explore... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When you think about it, when you pirate a movie or music you re taking what
doesn t belong to you without consent which is the same as stealing. Ethically
speaking, I do believe some more research is needed to continue to endorse that
illegality. As I stated before, we live in a technological world and people are eager
to explore all their options. People don t want to be forced to pay $40 for two
people to get into a movie theater, therefore, they turn to illegally downloading
themselves or paying someone to do it for them. I ve given plenty of evidence to
help support my opinion on this topic, but I m aware there will always be those
who disagree with me and that s ok. My opinion may be biased, but I think cable
companies are hi jacking people out of their money and I will not judge any of those
who choose to download and stream to cut costs wherever they see
Fundamentalism and Rock and Roll Essay
Holding onto the five fundamentals, as many Christian fundamentalists call them, is
according to the doctrinal truths within the movement. They believe in the
inerrancy of Scripture, which reveals Christ as the Messiah, His virgin birth, the
atonement in His blood, and His bodily resurrection. Additionally, embedded within
the movement is the belief that they, the saved, are engaged in a cosmic war that is
taking place here and now. As Reza Aslan explains a cosmic war or religious war is,
an earthly battle between rival religious groups...a real, physical struggle in this world
and an imagined, moral encounter in the world beyond. This war is a continuous
battle that takes place on all earthly fonts, even on the airwaves.

With classic evangelical hymns like are you washed in the blood of the lamb and
shall the vile race of flesh and blood one can get a feel of the bloody imagery within
Christian hymns, which could sit right beside some of the darker black death and
heavy metal rock genres like Baptized in blood by the artist Death. As a way to fight
against such evils, evangelical groups began to create alternative choices to the
satanic unholy offensive music. The cultural phenomenon known as Contemporary
Christian Music features Christian rock music, which includes Christian heavy metal,
among many other styles of music that reintroduce themes that reinforce the five
fundamentals. With songs of Christ s divine forgiveness and personal salvation that
are backed up by similar musical accompaniment that their secular counterparts sing
but minus all the sex, drugs, parties, and other worldly activities. However, the music
industry has made newer developments that tone down they blatant Christian themes.
For instance, consider the following lyrics from the popular artist Jesus Culture;
I can t get enough of you
Cause I am in love with You
And oh how I long for You
Cause I am in love with You
It burns like a blazing fire
Rises like a mighty flame
My greatest desire
To be seated in love by Your name
From these lyrics, it can be tough to associate them with Jesus Christ rather than sex,
The Uk Would Benefit Greatly from the Wider Use of...
The UK would benefit greatly from the wider use of referendumss? Discuss.
A referendum is a form of direct democracy that involves a public vote on a single
issue of public policy. It is a way of presenting a debated issue to public decision.
The most recent referendum was in the UK; the 2014 Scottish Independence
Referendum which asked the question whether Scotland should break away from the
UK or not.
There are a variety of arguments both for and against the wider use of referendum
in the UK. The use was greatly favoured by Tony Blair and his new Labour
government in 1997 because they took the view that referendum was a democratic
device that allows people the opportunity to give a direct voice in decision making.
Therefore, any ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through this direct way, the decisions which get decided by a referendum would be
less well thought through and could cause more harm than good to the British
politics because the general public is less likely to actually have access to
knowledge needed to fully understand the issue at hand, unlike the professional
elected politicians. These politicians also protect the minorities in their constinuents
via the constitution. A referendum would undermine the rights of those protected
minorities and result in a tyranny of the majority . The legitimacy of the
representativ politicians decisions would then appear to be weak because they
were undermined by referendum determined decisions like when the Labour s
proposed regional assembly in 2001 was crushed by a referendum in the North East
which produced a result of 78% saying no and only 22% saying yes .
The use of referendums can also undermine Parliament s sovereignity over the issues
of other countries in the UK. The way this is not beneficial to the UK is not only
referendums are undermining the sovereignty of Parliament over the UK but it also
makes the British constitutionn look inflexible when it comes to deciding over
matters of Scotland and Wales. And if favourably popular enough, a referendum can
establish a second goverment within the UK which it eventually does with Scotland.
Referendums held in September
What Is The Central Idea Of To Kill A Mockingbird
Imagine a world where everyone with blue eyes got to give orders to everyone
with brown eyes. If you re born with blue eyes, you get the good jobs, the good
schools, the good houses, and all the fair trials you could want. If you have brown
eyes, then you would have gotten the crappy education, house, and life. That is how
life was in Maycomb, Alabama as well as the rest of the south. The central idea of To
Kill a Mockingbirdis recognition on how unfair people are treated based on their race.
That s what happened with Tom Robinson. Tom Robinson was a black man that
was accused of raping Mayella Ewell, who is Bob Ewell s daughter. Atticus is
defending him already knowing that he will lose the case simply because Tom
Robinson is black and Mayella was white. The trial resulted in Tom Robinson being
accused of raping a white woman although there was evidence of Tom s innocence....

He was referring the mockingbird to Tom Robinson and Boo Radley saying that it
was a sin to judge Tom and Boo by what others had to say about them. Even though
Boo Radley is white, he never came out of his home and he never really socialized
with anyone from Maycomb, which is why people are judging him. However, people
from Maycomb are just hiding Tom for his skin

Essay For Orchestra.pdf

  • 1. Essay For Orchestra Crafting an essay on the topic of "Essay for Orchestra" presents a unique set of challenges that delve beyond the typical essay-writing experience. Unlike more straightforward subjects, delving into the realm of orchestral essays demands a profound understanding of music theory, composition, and the intricate nuances of orchestral arrangements. The complexity lies not only in the technical aspects of orchestration but also in conveying the emotional and artistic essence of a musical piece through words. Describing the auditory beauty of a musical composition can be a daunting task, as it requires the ability to translate abstract sensations into a coherent and engaging written form. Moreover, capturing the essence of an orchestral essay involves a delicate balance between subjective interpretation and objective analysis. It requires a keen ear and an appreciation for the subtleties of musical expression. Articulating the impact of different instruments, the interplay of melodies, and the overarching themes can be as challenging as conducting an orchestra itself. Furthermore, research for such an essay goes beyond traditional literature reviews, delving into musical scores, historical contexts, and the biographies of composers. It demands a comprehensive exploration of the cultural, social, and artistic influences that shaped the orchestral piece in question. In conclusion, tackling an essay on the topic of "Essay for Orchestra" is a formidable task that requires a unique blend of musical knowledge, writing prowess, and the ability to convey the intangible beauty of music through words. It is a journey that challenges not only the intellect but also the soul, as one attempts to articulate the ineffable. For those seeking assistance in navigating this intricate path, and for a myriad of other topics, it's worth considering professional help. Similar essays and much more can be ordered through services like HelpWriting.net, where expert writers stand ready to assist in transforming complex subjects into eloquent and compelling written works. • 2. J. Bruce Ismay Is Responsible For The Sinking Of The Titanic The Titanic was the biggest ship built in the 1900s. The Titanic is very important to us because it helps us remember the people who went down with their ship. Back then the Titanic was just not a ship that people went on it was a Royal Mail Ship. The Titanic is very important because people are still arguing about who is responsible for the sinking of the Titanic. I believe J. Bruce Ismay is responsible for the sinking of the Titanic because he was more powerful than Captain Smith. Although some people think Captain Smith is responsible for the sinking of the Titanic. However, I think that it is J. Bruce Ismay because he told Captain Smith to accelerate the speed of the ship after they received 7 ice warnings. They say that Captain Smith didn t put as many people on the lifeboats as he could and that s true, but Ismay didn t have enough lifeboats for everyone on the ship. Like he did not take time to test the ship and take precautions and that is the important thing you need to do before you get the ship on the water. One more thing I am pinning J. Bruce Ismay on is that he skipped over a good crew and did not have a good person for every single job on the Titanic. One last major thing that he did was that he took a lifeboat for himself and the crew was not supposed to take a lifeboat they were supposed to go down with the

The book series infatuated the hearts of teenage girls across the world, and even expanded upon those horizons to reach an audience so wide that the book series became a household name. Critics have endlessly discussed the love, or lust, of the two individuals and are fascinated by the fact that the TwilightSaga falls not just in the genre of romance, but also in the supernatural/ horror category. Maple, in an article that discusses this barrier breaking love that Bella and Edward display, states throughout the story Bella and Edward share an unorthodox relationship, a love above and beyond all others: something more expressive of eternal commitment (Maple). Maple emphasizes how deep and rare the love between the two adolescents is, and I would argue that human s innate desire for this kind of love is one of the main reasons why Twilight became so widespread. However, another basis for the obsession of the books is simply because The Cullen s, the family in which Edward belongs to, represent vampires in a

For more than two hundred years, the United States has stood under many beliefs, but all have been defended with the blood of many fallen heroes. When countries told the United States to submit, it stood firm. When war was at America s footsteps, she planted her feet and said, No, you move. America s history is vast. In order to identify how Simon and March develops the understanding of organization through decision making, people need to understand why the classical theory is regarded as improper. The first point is the rationality. In classical method, the rational man makes optimal choices with conditions that there are already several alternatives simply given with no reasons why it is obtained and consequences attached to each alternatives. The decision makers have their own preferences and choose the one they think to be most optimal. However, since not all consequences of alternatives are certain or can be predicted, and the conditions are too perfectly imagined, the classical theory of rational man involves difficulties. Instead where this power manifests and consolidates is on platforms that draw the attention of audiences and revolve around the role played by algorithms. Using institutional theory, automodernity, and the concept of algorithmic publics, we can start to map out a growing and potential field of research that attempts to measure and explore the growing role and influence of algorithmic media on audiences and therefore society. Especially when in the form of platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Google, etc. Tarleton Gillespie (2010) is a vocal critic of the evolving relationship between the new media industries and their audiences, in particular drawing issue with the use of the word platform , arguing that it provides a false vision of technical neutrality and progressive openness (360) when the reality is quite the opposite. Rather than regard platforms as a level playing field we should instead regard them as what they are, slanted towards the interests of the owner, serving specific commercial needs and interests. They depict themes similar to that of The Breakfast Club. Central themes such as class and popularity along with secondary themes of angst, love, self discovery, fitting in, and the need to connect with others are prevalent throughout both of these films. Pretty in Pinkis a prime example for the depiction of class and popularity. Its strong main characters, Andie and Blane, contrast in both of these categories and they develop into deeper story lines as the movie progresses. Class is a strong theme throughout the entire film and is presented in unforgettable scenes. Everyone is nervous walking into their first big high school house party, but the look on Andies face as her and Blane walk through the door is unforgettable. Clearly someone of a different social status, Andie, a true fashion icon, dresses how she desires but sticks out like a sore thumb amongst the upper class teens. No one can forget the iconic line, Nice pearls. This isn t a dinner party, honey , uttered at Andie in this scene. The clear and evident vulnerability of Andie shows just how uncomfortable she is in this setting along with the guiltiness of Blane for having brought her there. Class divides their two worlds and creates conflict throughout the film. A secondary theme that is very popular and might be controversial in the ending is love. Notable with John Hughesfilms are

It also promoted him to do a lot of good such as charity events, hospital visits to sick kids, and other things (Tebow, 2011). This ties back in with another well known idea which is be humble no matter how successful you are. It shows that when one achieves success and doesn t go around bragging about it how much of a bigger person they are. Tebow again is a very good example of this. At an early age his parents told him that you are only to talk about your success on field when someone asks about it (Tebow, 2011). This has helped Tebow keep a good reputation throughout his whole life which has helped him out in other things then just the football field. Realizing how many people inhabit the world today it s not hard to believe that there are literally thousands of religions out there. Making a choice as to what religion you fit into can be a daunting task. Even if you already practice a set religion sometimes its hard to know if you are putting your faith in the right hands so to speak. People get into a religion and they think that their beliefs are right and everyone else s are wrong or twisted. • 26. Persuasive Essay Friends Pre Test Persuasive Essay Friends is a hit television (tv) show, and has been since 1994 when it first came out. The television show follows the lives of six friends throughout the course of 10 years. Friends is a good tv show despite some people s opinions. The show was at the top of the charts for the years that it ran, and even more after that. The theme song itself was number 1 for 8 weeks, and after that was still within the top numbers (Billboard Staff, 2015). Even though the show is aimed for a mature audience, it captures the qualities a hit tv show needs. Friendsis a good tv show due to the fact that it is a comedy, includes lots of plot twists, and follows one basic storyline. To begin, the genre of Friends is comedy. This is the ideal genre for this show because comedies keep people in a good mood while they watch it. Even on a bad day, a comedy can amuse, entertain, and provoke enjoyment, (AMC Filmsite, 2017). Also, comedy is one of the most popular choices within adult audiences. 52% of adults watch comedy tv shows, with the only category having a higher percentage being movies at 58% (Scarborough, 2013). As well as, comedy can mean more than one thing. Multiple types of comedy exist, as there are many ways to make someone laugh. Friends does a very good job of touching on many different kinds of comedy. Friends is one of the most popular genres of television, and includes elements that draw people s interest. Not only is Friends a comedy, it includes multiple plot twists. One of these plot twists is when Monica and Chandler start to date. Throughout the show up until this point, Monica spends time to tell Chandler that she is not interested which is especially outlined in an episode set at the beach, where Chandler tries to find any way to make Monica say she d date him. An example of this is that he says Okay, there s an apocalypse and we are the last two people on Earth... and Monica still responds with eh. This is what caused the decision for them to start dating to be a shock to everyone watching. Another plot twist was when Rachel got pregnant. This was clever writing because the show had been more focused on Monica and Chandler at that point, and when the pregnancy test was

Having a multitude of differences in the workforce gives an organization the ability to use many ideas to reach a common goal. A person could say that a diverse group of people together in one room can accomplish greater achievements than a room filled with the same types of individuals. Managers understand the concept of diversity, and how important diversity is to the success of a company s ability to implement programs that continue to develop a harmonious and diverse workplace. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Cultural differences in the workplace can sometimes become a challenge in the work environment. In order to facilitate these differences, there must be some form of cultural awareness. Cultural awareness can help employees face the challenge of responding to individuals with different religions in the workplace, expose religious practices, and eliminate stereotyping in the workplace. Awareness of religions, and the beliefs associated with different religions, can be accomplished in many ways, such as training courses, workshops or company handouts (Thomas Kochan, 2003, p. 4). Companies must embrace multiculturalism and diversity. The impact of diversity is a successful learning experience for companies, and is equally as important to a company as its mission statement because of the educational and work ethics of its employees. Awareness and knowledge of diversity in addition to the similarities that humans possess can build relationships between employees and employers. Diversity helps employees and employers to be well educated and informed as to what forms a person s values, attitudes, and behaviors. Many organizations are beginning to view diversity as an organizational change. This could possibly mean changes in the power dynamics and organizational structure, the way decisions are made, and the way an

In 2010, data provided by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (as cited in Moreland, 2013) show more individuals are voluntarily quitting their jobs. With over 70% of US workers disengaged, this topic has arguably prompted an interest that continues to be earnestly pursued by many. As a result, the Gallup Q12 expands the need for additional research based on their finding of employee engagement. The purpose of this descriptive qualitative research is to explore how employees define understands, and link engagement to productivity within the workplace. Without a well defined rigor understanding of engagement, employees remain unfocused, disengaged, and unproductive during working hours. Moreland (2013) found that too many individuals pursue opportunities that are not aligned with their experience, behavioral competencies, and education background. This impact of disengaged productivity undermine the success of other co workers, and decrease employee morale across organizations. Fanny Trollope, an English novelist and writer, travelled to America in the early 19th century for a glimpse of life outside of England. In her work, The Domestic Manners of the Americans , Trollope captured her experience in countless opinionated, highly critical observations that judged Americans based on their behaviors and practices. Many aspects of Americanlife captured Trollope s attention, but these aspects were not seen in a positive light. It was obvious through her story that Trollope did not care for the American life; however, there seemed to be much more to Trollope s opinions besides petty distastes. Trollope found the American lifestyle repulsive because it seemed to revolve around pride in their impolite and offensive behavior, creating an environment of arrogance and superiority over outsiders like herself. In the beginning of her stay in America, Trollope was enjoying a cup of tea in her hotel when she was abruptly confronted by the hotel s landlord. He knocked on her door and demanded that Trollope leave, saying I cannot accommodate you on these terms; we have no family tea drinkings here, and you must live either with me or my wife, or not at all in my house (Trollope 34). When Trollope tried to explain that she was a foreigner and unaware of American customs, the landlord added Our mannersare very good manners, and we don t wish any changes from England (Trollope 34). The landlord s actions were uncalled for in Trollope s opinion; his authority and pride seemed almost comical. He was so adamant about control over the room, yet the room itself was certainly not anything noteworthy. The room was described by Trollope as being subpar, as it had no carpet, and was darkened by blinds of paper (Trollope 33). The landlord took great pride in American manners and seemed to think that any English practices were inferior. Ironically, in other parts of her work, Trollope reported her experience in America to be one filled with awful mannered people. She was disgusted with their poor manners, like the incessant, remorseless spitting of Americans (Trollope 11). All of these factors combined led to her feeling totally unwelcome, stating that [the landlord], in truth, strongly resembled

America has found itself in the odd position of having nine presidential candidates from the Republican Party. What is its root, what is its seed? 1 These are the first of the many inquiries that Augustine makes in his work entitled the Confessions. In fact, the question of what is evil is the main concern of Augustine, eventually leading the theologian from Manicheanism, a heresy that Augustine spent nine years of his life practicing, back into the arms of the Church. The Manichees are not willing to say that Godcreated evil, and so therefore evil must have existed from the very beginning, possessing its own being. At this time, Augustine has a very Platonist view of things and begins to question this view of the Manichees. In the Confessions, Augustine writes that the Manichean religion has a duelist view of good and evil. He explains that the Manichees believe there to be two metaphysical forces, God and Satan. Subsequently, there are two kingdoms: the Kingdom of Light, created by the former, and the Kingdom of Darkness created by the latter.3 The Kingdom of Light, he says, is associated with spirit, and the Kingdom of Darkness with matter. The body, thus, is deemed to be evil in Manichean thought because it is matter fighting against the soul, which was understood to be a piece of the divine, broken off from the rest of God. The divine, as a result, is imprisoned in the material world.4 Augustine further comments that the Manichees find that humans beings are not responsible for their own actions since it is darkness, or a desperate evil will in them, rather than their own will that causes them to do evil.5 Because of all this, they believe that good and evil, spirit and matter, are two opposite, independent, and equal forces in constant conflict with each other. They believe evil is as powerful as

This war is a continuous battle that takes place on all earthly fonts, even on the airwaves. Since the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With classic evangelical hymns like are you washed in the blood of the lamb and shall the vile race of flesh and blood one can get a feel of the bloody imagery within Christian hymns, which could sit right beside some of the darker black death and heavy metal rock genres like Baptized in blood by the artist Death. As a way to fight against such evils, evangelical groups began to create alternative choices to the satanic unholy offensive music. The cultural phenomenon known as Contemporary Christian Music features Christian rock music, which includes Christian heavy metal, among many other styles of music that reintroduce themes that reinforce the five fundamentals. With songs of Christ s divine forgiveness and personal salvation that are backed up by similar musical accompaniment that their secular counterparts sing but minus all the sex, drugs, parties, and other worldly activities. However, the music industry has made newer developments that tone down they blatant Christian themes. For instance, consider the following lyrics from the popular artist Jesus Culture; I can t get enough of you Cause I am in love with You And oh how I long for You Cause I am in love with You It burns like a blazing fire Rises like a mighty flame My greatest desire To be seated in love by Your name From these lyrics, it can be tough to associate them with Jesus Christ rather than sex,

A referendum is a form of direct democracy that involves a public vote on a single issue of public policy. It is a way of presenting a debated issue to public decision. The most recent referendum was in the UK; the 2014 Scottish Independence Referendum which asked the question whether Scotland should break away from the UK or not. There are a variety of arguments both for and against the wider use of referendum in the UK. Therefore, any ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through this direct way, the decisions which get decided by a referendum would be less well thought through and could cause more harm than good to the British politics because the general public is less likely to actually have access to knowledge needed to fully understand the issue at hand, unlike the professional elected politicians. These politicians also protect the minorities in their constinuents via the constitution. A referendum would undermine the rights of those protected minorities and result in a tyranny of the majority . The legitimacy of the representativ politicians decisions would then appear to be weak because they were undermined by referendum determined decisions like when the Labour s proposed regional assembly in 2001 was crushed by a referendum in the North East which produced a result of 78% saying no and only 22% saying yes . The use of referendums can also undermine Parliament s sovereignity over the issues of other countries in the UK. The way this is not beneficial to the UK is not only referendums are undermining the sovereignty of Parliament over the UK but it also makes the British constitutionn look inflexible when it comes to deciding over matters of Scotland and Wales. And if favourably popular enough, a referendum can establish a second goverment within the UK which it eventually does with Scotland. Referendums held in September
