Leadership Transformational And Transactional Leadership
Leadership Transformational v. Transactional Devine and Winter (2012, p. 25) state,
there is nothing magical about leadership, and there is nothing magical about teaching it
or learning it. They go on to define leadership as the ability to influence those who work
for you to want to accomplish and strive to reach organizational goals and objectives.
Those who influence others must understand the theories of motivation so that these
theories can be applied, communicated and taught in order to motivate followers (Devine
and Winter, 2012). Different from supervision, leadershipimplores the desires of those
around you to want to succeed in meeting a goal through you the leader s motivational
abilities. Two of the most widely accepted theories of leadership within the law
enforcement community are transformational and transactional leadership which are
defined as follows: Transactional Leadership Theory as defined by Deluga and Souza,
(1991) suggests that leaders react to subordinates basic needs and the two are viewed as
bargaining units where the power of the leader is gained through the exchange of work
for pay or the mutual exchange of benefits between the two parties involved. However,
Deluga and Souza (1991) also add that under the paramilitary structure of policeagencies
today, submission to rank, coupled with organizational culture may reduce the influence
that subordinates may have in an upward motion on their superior officers. This theory
Barack Obama s Presidential Debates
During the Democratic presidential debates on Tuesday, frontrunner Hillary Clinton was
backed by her fellow Democratic contenders, most notably, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I VA),
who remarked in response to Clinton s e mail flap, Let me say something that may not be
great politics, but I think the secretary is right. The American people are sick and tired of
hearing about your damn emails. http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/10/14/us usa
election democrats idUSKCN0S70B920151014
This was an early warm moment between the contenders, but the debate turned crisp at
times while the contenders focused on an array of issues deeply impacting Americans,
including the economy, criminal justice, the environment, among other leading issues.
However, despite the pass that Clinton received in the presence of her political peers
and media inquisitors, Clinton s characterization of the e mail investigation as benign
involving Clinton s candidacy may be a red herring. In the matter of government
whistleblowers, former NSA contractor Edward Snowden and former NSA executive
Thomas Drake faced charges of violations of the Espionage Act ( the Act ).
Snowden, the former CIA employee and government contractor who in 2013 leaked
classified information from the NSA, created the tempest during this administration under
the Espionage Act and fled the country and remains at large presumably residing in

Foolish Impulses In Romeo And Juliet
The famous english novelist (and Mrs.Kenny s favorite writer), Jane Austen once said
Every impulse of feeling should be guided by reason (A Quote from Pride and
Prejudice). Unlike Jane Austen, the characters in the famous play by William
Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet do not have a guided reason therefor resulting in their
foolish impulse. In Romeo and Juliet, two families of the same rank are enemies and
have never gotten along, Capulet and Montague. Capulet and Lady Capulet have a
young daughter named Juliet while the Montague family has a son named Romeo. At
first sight the star cross d lovers (1.prologue.6) fall deeply in love resulting in the quick
decision of marriage which later turns into fatal downfall. In Romeo and Juliet,
William Shakespeare uses characterization to portray that adolescent behavior is
marked by foolish impulses. Romeo is enchanted with the first sight of Juliet is shown
through his adolescent experiences: If I profane with my unworthiest hand this holy
shrine, the gentle fine is this: my lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand to smooth
that rough touch with a tender kiss (1.5.91 94). With the first sight of Juliet, Romeo
believes she is the most beautiful thing on earth. Romeo determines that Juliet is better
than him and he does not deserve someone as amazing as her. Now Romeo is beloved
and loves again, alike bewitched by the charm of looks (2.prologue.5 6). Romeo is finally
in love again after his heartbreak from Rosaline, a girl who

Characteristics Of The Wizard Of Oz
The cyclone had set the house down into a country of marvelous beauty. is merely just
the beginning of the tale of Dorothy traveling through a mysterious land, making
interesting friends, and eventually slaying an evil witch. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
is an epic by L. Frank Baum is known by children and adults alike all over. And what
exactly makes this tale of a naive little girl an epic? The Wonderful Wizard of Ozis an
epic due to its characteristics, conventions, archetypes, and the way it follows the
stereotypical hero s journey.
Epic characteristics, conventions, and hero characteristics are what make up the epic,
The Wizard of Oz. An epic characteristic seen in the book is how broad the setting is.
Throughout Dorothy s time in Oz, she crosses many different lands that are all unique
in their own way; such as The Land of the East, Emerald City, The Land of the West,
and more. A common convention in epics seen in the Wizard of Oz is a formal plea or
an invocation for help being said by Dorothy. In the Wizard of Oz, Dorothy pleads for
either the Wizard or Galinda to take her back home to Kansas. The hero undertaking a
quest or journey is an epic hero characteristic seen in The Wizard of Oz. In the book,
Dorothy takes on a huge quest to defeat the Wicked Witch so she can return home.
Through epic characteristics, conventions, and hero characteristics, the epic The Wizard
of Oz follows the epic hero s journey.
The Wizard of Oz first begins its epic tale of a hero with
Anti-Judgemental And Anti-Discriminatory Nursing Care...
In this essay I will be exploring the importance of anti judgemental and anti
discriminatory nursing care through Nursing In Nazi Germany (Steppe, 1992). Firstly, I
will address the three key messages that are explored within this journal, describe the
importance of anti discriminatory nursing care, articulate the relevance of promoting non
judgemental attitudes, and lastly explore the key messages further to wider literature.
Essentially, the first key message addressed in this article is the lack of power in the
nursing profession during Nazi Germany. Throughout this period, nurses were forced
to belong to a social democratic and communist organisation, suppressing any free
unions within society so that women of this profession had limited power as possible.
The lack of power and the entire upbringing and training of girls should be directed
towards one future biological or spiritual role of motherhood (Diehl, 1932, p.21)
suggests and identifies the role of a woman is to care, exhibiting the lack of power
woman own from a young age. In addition, another message explored is the
authoritative obedience of nurses, leading to many cruel internal changes within the
profession. As the nurses were forced to act as political soldiers, nurses followed orders
and were involved in all phases of the systematic annihilation of masses of people
(Steppe, 1992, p.749). The final messaged analysed in this article is the discrimination
against a particular cohort of people. The movement of Nazi Germany caused the mass
sterilisation of mentally ill persons, bans against the admission of Jewish patients... food
rations for foreigners and denial of care for homosexuals (Steppe, 1992, p. 748) that is
ultimately illegal now in today s society.
Furthermore, anti discriminatory and anti judgemental nursing care is important in
promoting fair and equal treatment to all individuals and groups of people. The protected
characteristics within anti judgemental and anti discriminatory care include, age,
disability, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, marriage and civil partnership,
pregnancy and maternity. The Equality Act (2010), The Code (NMC 2015) and the NHS
Constitution (2015) highlight the importance of
Enslaved Captive is the Story of a Young African Couple...
The story Enslaved Captive, by Olaudah Equiano was published in 1789, and tells the
story of a young African boy who is kidnaped, taken into slavery and eventually arrives
in the Americas where he is sold to a merchant there. Olaudah, who is portrayed as the
young slave, explains in narrative the horrors that he and other fellow Africans
experienced on their journey from Africa to American where they are meant to be
sold and put to work. The article persuades the reader to see from the point of view of
the slave, and to feel what they felt as they were taken from their homeland to be
forced into physical labour in a strange new land. Olaudah Equiano was born in 1745
to the Ibo people of the Benin Empire, which was located along the Niger River. He
was the youngest of the son s, and was aspired to become chief of his village. Equiano s
family owned slaves themselves, but unlike what he endured in the story, they treated
them like they were their own family. Slaveryby what Equiano states was common
among most African tribes, and the fear of being enslaved was widely shared among
his people. This is exactly what happened, while their father and others in the village
were working, two men and a woman came and kidnaped Equiano and his sister then
fled into the woods. Equiano never saw his family again. Kidnaping like this were
common with all the tribes. The abductors would wait till the moment when the children
were left alone, then they would take them where they would be
Essay On Benito Mussolini
Benito Mussolini was a pompous Italian dictator who strived and accomplished in
making Italy a fascist state. There are various factors that lead to the popularity and
power of the despot leader such as the outcomes of the Treaty of Versailles, the inefficient
government and democratic system, fear of the Blackshirts, and the poor economy. Italy
fought alongside the Allies during World War One, for this reason the Italian
government was assured in the Treaty of London to receive parts of different nations
such as Austria Hungary. During the creation of the Treaty of Versailles, Italy was
determined to receive the land promised in the Treaty of London. However, the Italian
government failed and was barely acknowledged during the process... Show more content

The Italians vision their economy developing and improving due to the unification of
Italy, however many regions remained impoverished. In northern Italy, industrial
workers formed unions in order to improve their labour conditions, within this group
socialism and communism became popular and was a rising threat to the wealthy. The
agricultural south was poverty stricken; the farmers were protesting against the
landowners. Although, Italy did make a few advances in the North such as the first
Fiat factor opening in Turin, the south still remained in poverty. Additionally,
Mussolini increased his popularity by supporting both the working class and the
industrial capitalists. He promised an eight hour day job for the working class and
dropped enquiry of the profits made during the Great War. As a result, many
individuals would seek Mussolini as a leader who would bring economic expansions to
all regions of Italy. Similarly, Adolf Hitler rose to fame and power during Germany s
depression due to the Treaty of Versailles, Vladimir Lenin gained popularity majorly due
to the economic hardships taking place in Russia. During economic hardships citizens of
a nation become vulnerable thus are making it simpler for a politician to attract

Essay On Cronyism And Nepotism
The problem that the researchers intended to study was clearly stated. In problem that
existed is that due to favouritism, nepotism and cronyism the vacancies and job
opportunities in Pakistan are not being fulfilled base on the applicant s qualification,
experience and other necessary skills. The problem is of practical importance, because it
helps to determine the significant impact that favouritism, nepotism and cronyism within
the working environment of the public sectororganizations of Pakistan. The purpose of
the study, as stated in the abstract, is to examine the effects of favouritism, nepotism and
cronyism on job satisfaction in the public sector organizations of Pakistan. The research
paper also hopes to determine the validity of the following three hypothesis:
1.Favouritism will have a negative relationship on job satisfaction
2.Nepotism will have a negative relationship on job satisfaction
3.Cronyism will have a negative relationship on job satisfaction Key terms that exist
within the research paper are clearly identified and defined. These key terms are
nepotism, favouritism, cronyism, job satisfaction and public sector organization.

The data were quantitative data and was represented in a tabular form. The data collected
has disproved the original hypothesis as it was discovered that favouritism, nepotism and
cronyism all have a positive effect on job satisfaction, in the Pakistan. The result may be
due to certain limitation that limited the effectiveness of the research. Perhaps the two
major weakness that resulted in the hypothesis being disproved are the study was not
conducted from the organizational point of view, but from the employees point of view
and also that the study was conducted within the public sector, and may have led to
different result should it have been conducted within the private
Food Stamp Reform Bill Proposal Essay
According to Reuters, approximately 47 million people receive Food Stamps. That
equates to 1 in 8 Americans (Abbott). Food Stamps is away to supplement those who
are having trouble finding jobs and supporting their families. There are individuals who
take it for granted, and abuse the system. Many people apply yearly for assistance, but
get turned away because their case is insufficient, or there is simply not enough room to
accommodate them. According to an article, states that since Food Stamps are running
out of funds and people are turning to food banksfor support (Food Assistance Becoming
the New Normal). Food banks are designed for extreme measures such a natural disaster,
extreme weather conditions, and the homeless. Because... Show more content on

With that being said, it goes to show that the government is not in control. It is very hard
to believe that they did not catch this error long before. It makes me question the whole
purpose of Food Stamps in general.
People are selling their Foods Stamps through various methods like taking people to the
store and buying food. Individuals are making packaged deals to outsmart the system.
For example, Food Stamps are generally more than actual money because it is
government funded. So therefore, non assisted people are getting excessive food
benefits, while the abuser is receiving cash.
The Baltimore Sun published an article about a two grocery clerks, who participated in a
scandal that when on from August 2011 until November 2013. Over more than 1.5
million dollars were compromised from this. U.S attorney Rod J Rosenstein commented
Taxpayers fund the program to provide food for the needy recipients, not to turn retail

It is unfair to those who pay their taxes see no good come from it. Although, it is their
civic duty, they should be able to be proud and say I m glad my tax dollars went to that

The On The Hands Of The People
In the Hands of the People When looking at corrupted services such as fast food
eateries that serve items genetically modified packed with countless calories, or the
trends of wastefulness allowing higher gas emissions to pollute the earth, and even
misleading advertising from cigarette ads aimed to target children, a sense of
helplessness occurs. Helpless because the laws that govern the well being of the people
are neglected . Subsequently, this feeling is followed by a question of whose exact job
is it to look after the wellbeing of the citizens? Is it the government? They do allow
corporations to serve unhealthy products like fast food; even with their current health
codes to prevent such. Even their policies to solve waste problems have created bigger
thrash issues. With these just being some of the basic services they govern, they do
seem to play a role in everyday life. With this in mind, we need a reminder that the
government does provide the political framework for our country to run normally
because of laws made in town to the policies handled in Washington that control the
flow of our everyday lives. This is the reason we do look for to them for our answers.
A new question that can help answer the one previously posed arises. Who is intended
to run the government if the laws they enact to protect our well being aren t working?
This question can easily be answered when we look at whose job it is to get the
politicians who run the government into office. It
Extraction and Characterization of Proteins
EXTRACTION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF PROTEINS Abstract Different
techniques and principles for protein extraction and characterization were demonstrated
in this experiment. Various proteins were extracted from different sources: 1.67 g yeast
invertase, 1.03 g egg white albumin, and 5.15 g of milk casein. Activity assay for
invertase was performed using Benedict s test and the enzymes inverting action on
sucrose was confirmed. Warburg Christian Method and Bradford Assay were also
employed to determine the protein concentration in the albumin and the casein samples.
The concentrations for the albumin and casein samples were found to be 0.519 and
0.327 mg/mL, respectively based on Warburg Christian Assay; and 6.5x10 3В¬ and

As a result, the interactions between protein molecules exceed protein water
interactions, and the solubility decreases. Moreover, the differences in the amino acid
sequence makes proteins differ in their salting in and salting out behavior. This is the
basis for the fractional precipitation of proteins by means of salt. Most commonly used
salt is ammonium sulfate because it is available in highly purified form and because of
its high solubility. (Boyer, 2000) Proteins can also be fractionally precipitated by
adjusting the pH, temperature and dielectric constant. Variations in pH also change the
state of ionization of the functional groups, and hence, the net charge of the protein.
Usually, the protein s solubility is at its least at the isoelectric point pI and increases on
either side of the pI. At the pI, the net charge of the protein is zero and the protein
molecules do not repel each other. As a result, protein protein interactions are increased
and the solubility is at its lowest. (Boyer, 2000) Meanwhile, if temperature is increased
denatures the proteins. Proteins then unfold and the non polar groups which were
previously in the interior of the molecule become exposed. This leads to a decrease in the
solubility of the protein in aqueous environment. Addition of ethanol, methanol, acetone
and the like decreases the dielectric constant and thus decreases protein s solubility.
(Boyer, 2000) The
Franklin D. Roosevelt s Song Analysis
Tonight, I come for the second time to tell you about what we have been doing and
what we are planning to do (Roosevelt 1). This was said by Franklin D. Roosevelt,
during his second fireside chat to inform his constituents on his approach to the recover
after the collapse. The collapse in the economy was one of the worst times in American
history, and this occurred directly after arguable one of the highest points in American
history. The Roaring Twenties, this change occurred in less than a year. The collapse
happened because people didn t understand the banking system. Everyone rushed into the
banks to withdraw the currency that valued all the money in their account. The banks

Ten million dollars was appropriated exclusively for tribes, and this may sound like a
good thing. Especially since, seventy five percent of the tribal corporations are now
functioning (Stevens 7). However, many native americans problems were unaffected,
and remained(Stevens 7). This was among the biggest mistakes of the New Deal. Ten
million dollars was wasted in a failed attempt to help, with little change to actually
solve their problems. While this was a valiant effort to help, it can t be forgotten that
ten million dollars was wasted. That was ten million dollars that could have actually
helped someone. There were so many other ways to go with that ten million dollars
and they went the wrong way. Then, there was the farmer relief bill, and that if
anything made things worse for the country, as a whole. The Agricultural Adjustment
Administration paid farmers not to raise certain crops and animals. This was later
declared unconstitutional too because of the economic power it gave to farmers. This
program of FDR s was also causing people to starve(). This program was an extremely
misguided effort because as shown, if it did anything it made life for ordinary people
even harder that it already was, or had to
Life Events And Stress, Stressors And Frustration
Boot Camp Days Finally, it has come, the final paper! Although I will miss all the
great things we learn about in class every week, I will not miss having to think of
information to type in these papers. This week the topics I have chosen to discuss are;
life events and stress, stressors and frustration. The best way I can relate to these topics
is by talking about my personal experiences at Navy Boot Camp. The worst eight and a
half weeks of my life.
The Good Beginning
My journey began, I was leaving the Tampa airport and heading to Chicago, destination
Great Lakes, to become a sailor. At the airport, I was full of many different thoughts and
emotions, being excited, but scared of what was to come.
Arriving at the Chicago O Hare airport we were met by a group of Petty Officers who
were a lot nicer than I thought they would be. Before we left the airport, we had to
throw out anything we were not supposed to have, lip balm, lotions, soaps, we couldn t
even keep our toothbrushes. That was fine, at least I wasn t getting yelled at. Then we
loaded up onto a bus and headed to the base.
The Start of the Worst Arriving on base, we pulled up to a building and quickly loaded
off the bus and filed in one by one. There were three different people all yelling
different directions. Sadly, the Petty Officers who picked us up from the airport, were
not Recruit Division Commanders (RDC). My hope of everything continuing to go well
was shot down very quickly. Just being there five
Herman Boone Belonging
Question 1: Personal power is when one impacts another person or group of people
through their actions and behaviour. This is depicted in Coach Herman Boone as he
uses his power as coach to teach the white team and coloured team to work together to
create the perfect team. It is also seen when Louie Lastik sat with the people with
coloured skin at lunch instead of with the people with white skin . Social power is
when a group of people have are more dominant or have a higher status from something.
In the movie Remember the titans, the people with white skin have more social power
at the beginning as they are considered better than people with coloured skin.
Institutional power is when individuals have more power than others from their
experience and knowledge. Institutional power is portrayed through the two coaches
(Boone and Yoast) as they have more power than the students since they have studied
and finished. Question 2: Belonging is the ability to feel wanted and included in a
group, team or with other people. It is imperative that the younger generation understand
the concept of belonging as it will help them find themselves as they grow. Personally, I
had difficulty finding friends that I felt comfortable with in primary school. However,
after entering high school and finding an amazing group of people who accept and
understand me, both my emotional and mental well being has improved greatly.
Belonging is a vital component to have to ensure a positive well being.
Sutra Of Hui-Neng Analysis
The text of the Sutra of Hui Neng is a unique text that offers illustrative evidence of the
themes and concerns that are central to the Buddhist tradition. In this text, the concepts
of both prajna and dhyana are discussed. These terms provide an understanding behind
the practices and religious values of Buddhism.
In the Sutra of Hui Neng, the term prajna is defined. Prajna is considered as
transcendental wisdom; inherent in our own nature; working without complications and
free to come and go; free of foolish desires and acting wisely; has neither form nor
characteristic; used for contemplation in attaining Buddhahood; what mind is; and to
practice whatever is good.
The conception of prajna from this text provides some understanding in relation to the ...

In Buddhist thought and practice, the motivation of using wisdom is in order to
distinguish the good from the bad so one can concentrate on that which is good.
Another term discussed in this text is dhyana. Dhyana is defined as that of
contemplation; free from attachment to all outer objects; meditation; and to purify one s
own mind.
The conception of dhyana, as described above, also provides further comprehension of
the Buddhist tradition. The first component of dhyana is that of contemplation. Now this
can be understood in the Buddhist tradition as that which one spends a considerable time
exploring anything in life and in practice.
Secondly, dhyana is explained to be free from attachment to all outer objects. This is
presented as part of Buddhist tradition in a matter of letting go of worldly possessions.
On a side note, visiting some Buddhist temples in China, I know that this was a very
important tenet of Buddhist tradition. The importance of such an understanding can be
seen as by letting go of such possessions, one can be free to be closer to the Buddha and
attaining
Religious Influence On Religion And Environmental...
Did you know that burying the dead underground is a Christian practice? Many practices
and rituals like this contribute to the environment in many ways you never would ve
imagined. Religious influence on the environment is stronger that environmental
influence on religion because different religions contribute practices and architecture to
contribute to their religious landscape.
Religions use architecture to create many holy sites. In christianity, there are many holy
sites in Jerusalem, bethlehem, Yatharth, and Sea of Galilee. In Jerusalem there is the site
of Jesus crucifixion, and the church of Holy Sepulchre, where is believed that Jesus
tomb is. Many christian pilgrims go to Jerusalem to visit many of its holy sites. In
Buddhism, there are also many holy sites. One is the Lumbini in India; which is where
Siddhartha was born. Another is the Bodhgaya in India where he attained enlightenment
and became the Buddha known. Many Buddhist visit many of this sites to fully visualise
how many things have happened to Siddhartha. Another Religion that has many religious
sites is Hinduism. There is the Kaaba; which is the holiest and most sacred place in Islam.
According to that religion the prophet Abraham and his son Ishmael built it as a
symbol of House of God. Another place is The Prophet Mosque which is in Medina.
The prophet Mohammad built it because of God s command next to where his settle his
Hijrah. Muslims go there to pray and also free their sins.

Before you put resources into protein shakes for weight loss it would be essential for you
to take in more about how they function and in the event that they are powerful with
regards to weight loss. These protein shakes are ordinarily supper substitution and
would substitute your standard dinner. In any case, there would be a specific request
in which these shakes would need to be expended. For instance, you will need to work
out routinely alongside devouring these shakes. These shakes alone would not have the
capacity to help you get more fit or increase any wellness objectives. Most protein
shakes would have a blend of protein, sugars and fat. When you devour these shakes, you
will need to guarantee that you keep away from greasy nourishment things and drink a lot

Room Is An Independent Drama Feminist Film Essay
Women in media are underrepresented. They are overwhelmingly valued in film
based on their identification as a mother, wife, or lover. This is cause by media such as
internet and TV because they create comparisons by influencing in an individual s
viewpoints of society and setting ideals. Mother s roles in society are and have been
watched at as responsible for the development of their children. If these requirements
are not fit by mothers they are looked negatively upon society. Room is an independent
drama feminist film based on Emma Donoghue novel and is directed by Lenny
Abramson in 2015 that changes society s ideals of women as mothers. The film
narrates Ma s story of being captive in a room that only have skylight, four walls, a
bed, a tub, and a TV with poor signal with her son Jack, a child of rape. After seven
years, Jack being five, they are able to escape and Ma s readjustment to society story
begin. Through specific choices in cinematography, Abramson creates a feminist film that
contradict the ideals of mothers in film and plays with Ma s strength making her a strong
motherwhile being captive in room and transforming her into a weak mother when she
readjust to society. Strength, sacrifice and love is an embodiment of mother. She should
always know how much she is worth and shouldn t let anyone define who she is. A
mother s feminine power is very powerful and at the same time supportive. Till their last
breath, they will love their child unconditionally.
Stephen Greenblatt Hamlet Essay
After completing the first three acts of Hamlet, I spent some time wondering what
influenced William Shakespeare to write this play. In the article The Death of Hamnet
and the making of Hamlet Stephen Greenblatt states, I will attempt in what follows to
trace Hamlet back to a personal experience of grief and to sketch a long term aesthetic
strategy that seems to have emerged from this experience. Greenblatt creates a strong
argument and purpose for writing this article; however, he does not explicitly use the
disabilities studies approach. By looking at Greenblatt s argument with a disability
studies lens I will claim Shakespeare as a disabled author by viewing his work and
personal experiences through the modern lens of disability.... Show more content on

Greenblatt claims, the opacity was shaped by his experience of the world and of his
own inner life: his skepticism, his pain, his sense of broken rituals, and his refusal of
easy consolations signals Shakespeare s growing interest in the hidden processes of
interiority. By combining Greenblatt s argument with Lennard J Davis claim in the
article, Bodies of Difference: Politics, Disability and Representation which states that
disability includes any nonstandard behaviors and feelings along with impairment and
disease I am using a modern definition of disability and applying it to Shakespeare.
While he was in the process writing Hamlet, Shakespeare s father was approaching
death. The physical disturbance that may have taken place while experiencing the
troubles of mourning and memory can potentially explain Hamlet s deep interiority.
Dealing with the reopened wounds of the death of his son and the imminent death of his
father, this interiority that is depicted in Hamlet mirrors that of Shakespeare s. Though
there is no record that Shakespeare was physically impaired and there is no direct
evidence that Shakespeare was depressed, we know that he was human. Any human
enduring such loss, in a modern perspective, is considered disabled. His disability
stemming from personal experiences of grief directly affected his mastery of creating

Pluralism vs. Elitism
Pluralism vs. Elitism
The term lobbying conjures up visions of a cigar chomping interest group
representative, his arm around the shoulder of an important senator or representative,
advising him how he ought to vote on some obscure provision of the Tax Code and
slipping an envelope, fat with currency, into his jacket pocket. Or it conjures up images
of favors given: paid vacations to exotic locations, honorarium payments for brief
speeches at association meetings, and other exchanges verging on bribery. These images
both reveal and confuse. These things surely happened in the past, some continue to
happen today, and some will surely happen in the future? (Greenberg Page 192). But what
these images don t help us understand are the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some say the number is 15 25 thousand, others say 150,000 250,000, but whatever the
number, a small number of people, because of their positions (their jobs), have a
tremendous impact on government and society.
This circuit breaker that Green mentions is of course the political body that leans
toward the wishes of business and not the people. With closer inspection though, we
can see that this same political body is comprised more and more of the business
people themselves. We all already know the intimate relationship between business and
government at the highest levels of government, but have not considered the impact of
people at the local levels. More and more wealthy people are entering the ranks of
government and in so doing, it is argued, are losing sight of the priorities of the average
citizen. Representatives that create policy no longer represent the average citizen but the
wealthy class or better said the class that does not need government services.
Fairness in access to the public used to be guaranteed through legislation such as the
Equal Time Provision of the 1934 Communications act. This act required that except
for news programs, stations that granted (or sold) air time to any one candidate for
public office had to grant (or sell) other candidates equal time? (Greenberg Page 175).
With today s revenue hovering at approximately 1 billion dollars for political
commercials, as in the 2000 elections, it is

  • 2. Leadership Transformational And Transactional Leadership Leadership Transformational v. Transactional Devine and Winter (2012, p. 25) state, there is nothing magical about leadership, and there is nothing magical about teaching it or learning it. They go on to define leadership as the ability to influence those who work for you to want to accomplish and strive to reach organizational goals and objectives. Those who influence others must understand the theories of motivation so that these theories can be applied, communicated and taught in order to motivate followers (Devine and Winter, 2012). Different from supervision, leadershipimplores the desires of those around you to want to succeed in meeting a goal through you the leader s motivational abilities. Two of the most widely accepted theories of leadership within the law enforcement community are transformational and transactional leadership which are defined as follows: Transactional Leadership Theory as defined by Deluga and Souza, (1991) suggests that leaders react to subordinates basic needs and the two are viewed as bargaining units where the power of the leader is gained through the exchange of work for pay or the mutual exchange of benefits between the two parties involved. However, Deluga and Souza (1991) also add that under the paramilitary structure of policeagencies today, submission to rank, coupled with organizational culture may reduce the influence that subordinates may have in an upward motion on their superior officers. This theory

Bernie Sanders (I VA), who remarked in response to Clinton s e mail flap, Let me say something that may not be great politics, but I think the secretary is right. The American people are sick and tired of hearing about your damn emails. http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/10/14/us usa election democrats idUSKCN0S70B920151014 This was an early warm moment between the contenders, but the debate turned crisp at times while the contenders focused on an array of issues deeply impacting Americans, including the economy, criminal justice, the environment, among other leading issues. However, despite the pass that Clinton received in the presence of her political peers and media inquisitors, Clinton s characterization of the e mail investigation as benign involving Clinton s candidacy may be a red herring. In the matter of government whistleblowers, former NSA contractor Edward Snowden and former NSA executive Thomas Drake faced charges of violations of the Espionage Act ( the Act ). Snowden, the former CIA employee and government contractor who in 2013 leaked classified information from the NSA, created the tempest during this administration under the Espionage Act and fled the country and remains at large presumably residing in Russia.. Foolish Impulses In Romeo And Juliet The famous english novelist (and Mrs.Kenny s favorite writer), Jane Austen once said Every impulse of feeling should be guided by reason (A Quote from Pride and Prejudice). Unlike Jane Austen, the characters in the famous play by William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet do not have a guided reason therefor resulting in their foolish impulse. In Romeo and Juliet, two families of the same rank are enemies and have never gotten along, Capulet and Montague. Capulet and Lady Capulet have a young daughter named Juliet while the Montague family has a son named Romeo. At first sight the star cross d lovers (1.prologue.6) fall deeply in love resulting in the quick decision of marriage which later turns into fatal downfall. In Romeo and Juliet, William Shakespeare uses characterization to portray that adolescent behavior is marked by foolish impulses. Romeo is enchanted with the first sight of Juliet is shown through his adolescent experiences: If I profane with my unworthiest hand this holy shrine, the gentle fine is this: my lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand to smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss (1.5.91 94). With the first sight of Juliet, Romeo believes she is the most beautiful thing on earth. Romeo determines that Juliet is better than him and he does not deserve someone as amazing as her. Now Romeo is beloved and loves again, alike bewitched by the charm of looks (2.prologue.5 6). Romeo is finally in love again after his heartbreak from Rosaline, a girl who

  • 7. Anti-Judgemental And Anti-Discriminatory Nursing Care... In this essay I will be exploring the importance of anti judgemental and anti discriminatory nursing care through Nursing In Nazi Germany (Steppe, 1992). Firstly, I will address the three key messages that are explored within this journal, describe the importance of anti discriminatory nursing care, articulate the relevance of promoting non judgemental attitudes, and lastly explore the key messages further to wider literature. Essentially, the first key message addressed in this article is the lack of power in the nursing profession during Nazi Germany. Throughout this period, nurses were forced to belong to a social democratic and communist organisation, suppressing any free unions within society so that women of this profession had limited power as possible. The lack of power and the entire upbringing and training of girls should be directed towards one future biological or spiritual role of motherhood (Diehl, 1932, p.21) suggests and identifies the role of a woman is to care, exhibiting the lack of power woman own from a young age. In addition, another message explored is the authoritative obedience of nurses, leading to many cruel internal changes within the profession. As the nurses were forced to act as political soldiers, nurses followed orders and were involved in all phases of the systematic annihilation of masses of people (Steppe, 1992, p.749). The final messaged analysed in this article is the discrimination against a particular cohort of people. The movement of Nazi Germany caused the mass sterilisation of mentally ill persons, bans against the admission of Jewish patients... food rations for foreigners and denial of care for homosexuals (Steppe, 1992, p. 748) that is ultimately illegal now in today s society. Furthermore, anti discriminatory and anti judgemental nursing care is important in promoting fair and equal treatment to all individuals and groups of people. The protected characteristics within anti judgemental and anti discriminatory care include, age, disability, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity. The Equality Act (2010), The Code (NMC 2015) and the NHS Constitution (2015) highlight the importance of

Olaudah, who is portrayed as the young slave, explains in narrative the horrors that he and other fellow Africans experienced on their journey from Africa to American where they are meant to be sold and put to work. The article persuades the reader to see from the point of view of the slave, and to feel what they felt as they were taken from their homeland to be forced into physical labour in a strange new land. Olaudah Equiano was born in 1745 to the Ibo people of the Benin Empire, which was located along the Niger River. He was the youngest of the son s, and was aspired to become chief of his village. Equiano s family owned slaves themselves, but unlike what he endured in the story, they treated them like they were their own family. Slaveryby what Equiano states was common among most African tribes, and the fear of being enslaved was widely shared among his people. This is exactly what happened, while their father and others in the village were working, two men and a woman came and kidnaped Equiano and his sister then fled into the woods. The On The Hands Of The People In the Hands of the People When looking at corrupted services such as fast food eateries that serve items genetically modified packed with countless calories, or the trends of wastefulness allowing higher gas emissions to pollute the earth, and even misleading advertising from cigarette ads aimed to target children, a sense of helplessness occurs. Helpless because the laws that govern the well being of the people are neglected . Subsequently, this feeling is followed by a question of whose exact job is it to look after the wellbeing of the citizens? Is it the government? They do allow corporations to serve unhealthy products like fast food; even with their current health codes to prevent such. Even their policies to solve waste problems have created bigger thrash issues. With these just being some of the basic services they govern, they do seem to play a role in everyday life. With this in mind, we need a reminder that the government does provide the political framework for our country to run normally because of laws made in town to the policies handled in Washington that control the flow of our everyday lives. This is the reason we do look for to them for our answers. A new question that can help answer the one previously posed arises. Who is intended to run the government if the laws they enact to protect our well being aren t working? This question can easily be answered when we look at whose job it is to get the politicians who run the government into office. It

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As a result, the interactions between protein molecules exceed protein water interactions, and the solubility decreases. Moreover, the differences in the amino acid sequence makes proteins differ in their salting in and salting out behavior. This is the basis for the fractional precipitation of proteins by means of salt. Most commonly used salt is ammonium sulfate because it is available in highly purified form and because of its high solubility. (Boyer, 2000) Proteins can also be fractionally precipitated by adjusting the pH, temperature and dielectric constant. Variations in pH also change the state of ionization of the functional groups, and hence, the net charge of the protein. Usually, the protein s solubility is at its least at the isoelectric point pI and increases on either side of the pI. At the pI, the net charge of the protein is zero and the protein molecules do not repel each other. As a result, protein protein interactions are increased and the solubility is at its lowest. (Boyer, 2000) Meanwhile, if temperature is increased denatures the proteins. Proteins then unfold and the non polar groups which were previously in the interior of the molecule become exposed. This leads to a decrease in the solubility of the protein in aqueous environment. Addition of ethanol, methanol, acetone and the like decreases the dielectric constant and thus decreases protein s solubility. (Boyer, 2000) The

This week the topics I have chosen to discuss are; life events and stress, stressors and frustration. The best way I can relate to these topics is by talking about my personal experiences at Navy Boot Camp. The worst eight and a half weeks of my life. The Good Beginning My journey began, I was leaving the Tampa airport and heading to Chicago, destination Great Lakes, to become a sailor. At the airport, I was full of many different thoughts and emotions, being excited, but scared of what was to come. Arriving at the Chicago O Hare airport we were met by a group of Petty Officers who were a lot nicer than I thought they would be. Before we left the airport, we had to throw out anything we were not supposed to have, lip balm, lotions, soaps, we couldn t even keep our toothbrushes. That was fine, at least I wasn t getting yelled at. Then we loaded up onto a bus and headed to the base. The Start of the Worst Arriving on base, we pulled up to a building and quickly loaded off the bus and filed in one by one. There were three different people all yelling different directions. Sadly, the Petty Officers who picked us up from the airport, were not Recruit Division Commanders (RDC). My hope of everything continuing to go well was shot down very quickly. Just being there five

This is depicted in Coach Herman Boone as he uses his power as coach to teach the white team and coloured team to work together to create the perfect team. It is also seen when Louie Lastik sat with the people with coloured skin at lunch instead of with the people with white skin . Social power is when a group of people have are more dominant or have a higher status from something. In the movie Remember the titans, the people with white skin have more social power at the beginning as they are considered better than people with coloured skin. Institutional power is when individuals have more power than others from their experience and knowledge. Institutional power is portrayed through the two coaches (Boone and Yoast) as they have more power than the students since they have studied and finished. Question 2: Belonging is the ability to feel wanted and included in a group, team or with other people. It is imperative that the younger generation understand the concept of belonging as it will help them find themselves as they grow. Personally, I had difficulty finding friends that I felt comfortable with in primary school. However, after entering high school and finding an amazing group of people who accept and understand me, both my emotional and mental well being has improved greatly. Belonging is a vital component to have to ensure a positive well being.

This is cause by media such as internet and TV because they create comparisons by influencing in an individual s viewpoints of society and setting ideals. Mother s roles in society are and have been watched at as responsible for the development of their children. If these requirements are not fit by mothers they are looked negatively upon society. Room is an independent drama feminist film based on Emma Donoghue novel and is directed by Lenny Abramson in 2015 that changes society s ideals of women as mothers. The film narrates Ma s story of being captive in a room that only have skylight, four walls, a bed, a tub, and a TV with poor signal with her son Jack, a child of rape. After seven years, Jack being five, they are able to escape and Ma s readjustment to society story begin. Through specific choices in cinematography, Abramson creates a feminist film that contradict the ideals of mothers in film and plays with Ma s strength making her a strong motherwhile being captive in room and transforming her into a weak mother when she readjust to society. Strength, sacrifice and love is an embodiment of mother. She should always know how much she is worth and shouldn t let anyone define who she is. A mother s feminine power is very powerful and at the same time supportive. Till their last breath, they will love their child unconditionally.

In the article The Death of Hamnet and the making of Hamlet Stephen Greenblatt states, I will attempt in what follows to trace Hamlet back to a personal experience of grief and to sketch a long term aesthetic strategy that seems to have emerged from this experience. Greenblatt creates a strong argument and purpose for writing this article; however, he does not explicitly use the disabilities studies approach. By looking at Greenblatt s argument with a disability studies lens I will claim Shakespeare as a disabled author by viewing his work and personal experiences through the modern lens of disability.... While he was in the process writing Hamlet, Shakespeare s father was approaching death. The physical disturbance that may have taken place while experiencing the troubles of mourning and memory can potentially explain Hamlet s deep interiority. Dealing with the reopened wounds of the death of his son and the imminent death of his father, this interiority that is depicted in Hamlet mirrors that of Shakespeare s. This circuit breaker that Green mentions is of course the political body that leans toward the wishes of business and not the people. With closer inspection though, we can see that this same political body is comprised more and more of the business people themselves. We all already know the intimate relationship between business and government at the highest levels of government, but have not considered the impact of people at the local levels.
