Abstract: The experiment s goal was to study the effects of temperature and the rate of
breakdown of starch by fungal and bacterial amylase. In order to conduct this
experiment four samples were taken from both specimen and placed in four
different temperatures. After a period of time a portion of the sample was taken
and added to a portion of starch which was then mixed with iodine. Iodine reacts
with starch to produce a change in color in the iodine from a brown to a dark purple.
This serves as a method of measuring the breakdown of the starch by the amylase by
comparing the color of iodine when mixed with starch and comparing it with the
added amylase. It was also noted that because both specimen reacted differently with

Smart Card is the perfect media that can be used as a health card due to its small
size, secure, capability of digitizing a huge amount of personal and medical data
[4]. Some attempts have been done by researchers to develop a personal portable
healthcare record smart cards and a corresponding framework to simplify
maintenance and transfer of patient records [9]. Researchers in the U.K. have
created MyCare, a smart card with a fold out USB plug that can hold a patient s

I think my biggest shift in understanding education and the school system is just
how political it is. I ve worked in other systems such as the criminal justice system
and I knew things were political but for some reason I just never thought of the
school system as being as political as it is. I guess I was living in some type of
fantasy world where I thought that what is best for students was the driving force.

First, it was Closing the Achievement Gap, then came No Child Left Behind, then
Common Core and now it s Read to Achieve. It appears that the powers to be are
more interested adopting a new initiative instead of adapting to something that works.

over the summer breaks , then why do we continue to operate on the calendar we do
