Animation Stimuli For The Study Of Instructor Gestures
System for creating animation stimuli for the study of instructor gestures in education. The system
does not require artistic talent or programming expertise. The system provides an animation
character that serves as an instructor avatar .The avatar can speak ,write on a nearby white board
,and make pointing ,embodied cognition and charisma gestures .The avatar is controlled with a text
script that specify when and what the avatar says and does. Introduction : Animation plays an
important role in education. Animation such as pointing; circling; or underlining can help capture;
maintain ,and direct the student s attention during lecture . Instructor animation serve as a
complementary communication channel that helps student parse and grasp the information
presented to them verbally and visually. For example : in the context of learning mathematical
equivalence ,a balance gestures elicits the students firsthand experience with the concept of physical
equilibrium, which is used to scaffold the novel concepts of balancing the sides of equation .
Animation can help convey an instructor s appealing and engaging personality which enhances the
learning .Important as animation seems to be ,much remains to be discovered through education
research regarding what ,when and how instructor animation benefit learning. . Traditional
education research on instructor animation relies on video stimuli. Student participant are shown

Causes of Global Warming
Many businesses, industrial factories, and vehicles produce massive amounts of natural gases that
affect the world in many ways. These gas particles that move rapidly and constantly collide with the
atmosphere. This causes the air on Earth to contain higher kinetic energy due to the fact that more
gas particles from the natural gases are colliding with the air particles. The higher kinetic energy
results in higher temperature and heating of Earths surface. The heating of the Earth s surface
causes many of the world problems that we have today. As more and more factories and industries
produce gases that pollute the world, they also increase the effects of global warming. Gasparticles
from these natural gases move rapidly throughout the atmosphere. Since these gases are still near
the surface of the Earth, these gas particles collide much more and become more rapid creating
more kinetic energy. If there is more kinetic energy in these gas particles, there is an increase in
temperature. Around the world there are so many products and resources that require the release of
gases. These gases, once released, increase the temperature in the atmosphere to be able to melt the
ice at the north and south poles. The gas particles are able to spread out throughout the Earth s
atmosphere to trap the heat which increases the temperature of the Earth s surface allowing the ice
to melt.
Hurricanes, storms, and droughts are caused by numerous factors. Droughts are caused by the

Silas Marner Isolation Quotes
After banishment from Lantern Yard, Silas Marner loses trust in all people and even God. Poor
Marner went out with that despair in his soul that shaken trust in God and man, which is little
short madness to a loving nature (Eliot, 14). Silas believed that his name would be cleared from
the crime he allegedly committed as he did not challenge the methods used to determine his
innocence. Because he allowed chance to control his life, Silas lost all hope in humanity and
barricaded himself from the outside world. He invited no comer to step across his door still, and
he never strolled into the village to drink a pint at the Rainbow, or to gossip at the wheelwright.
(Eliot, 7). This quote exemplifies Silas mistrust of people and his isolation from society as it shows
Silas had no desire to connect with his neighbors because he never integrated into his new home,
Raveloe. Unknowingly, Silas Marnerfound himself on a quest for happiness, but his... Show more

So, year after year, Silas Marner had lived in this solitude, his guineas rising in the iron pot, and
his life narrowing and hardening itself more and more into a mere pulsation of desire and
satisfaction that had no relation to other being (Eliot, 20). The weaver s work became obsessive
and soon the loom became equivalent to Silas heartbeat. The gold controlled Silas life instead of
Silas controlling his own life, and it drove Silas into a state of simplicity. The need for more and
more gold took his mind off his troubling past and bringing Silas false relief. The love of
accumulating money grows an absorbing passion in men whose imaginations, even in the very
beginning of their hoard, showed them no purpose beyond it (Eliot, 14). In the beginning, Silas did
not want to collect more and more gold, but because of his broken past and lonely habits, the
money consumed his

Just Justice For All Analysis
In the lecture With Justice for All? by Bryan Stevenson, he discusses his book Just Mercy as
well as allows the audience to question what mercy is in America. Stevenson began the lecture
by discussing how the audience has the capability to create more change, justice, and opportunity
in America. Stevenson spoke about the 5 things required in order to be able to make more
change for the better. The first thing that we must be able to do is that we have to be concerned
about our identity. We can call ourselves students and lawyers, however, it doesn t describe who
we are. The adjectives used allow us to have our identity. We should be saying we are active and
kind students, teachers, lawyers etc. The next thing that must be done in order to... Show more

In the recent election, one of the tactics that have been used is this idea of fear and the
presidential candidates have been using fear when discussing the policies and trying to
convince the voters as to why they should be voting for them. They use the idea of fear and how
they, as presidents, will be able to help solve the issues and fears in question. This idea of politics
of fear (Salahuddin) also tied to the lecture and how the legal system works. The system is run
on the fear and racial prejudice that leads to decisions being made that are unequal and unjust.
One of the biggest issues that in order to look at changes that need to be done and be able to
make changes, we must not run on fear and anger. Another topic discussed in both the lecture
and the talk was the idea of racial prejudice. People of color and African Americans are victims of
many different hatred and prejudice and based on presumptions. (Salahuddin) Black and browns,
in America, are presumed dangerous leading to them being burdened . (Stevenson) It ties to what
we talked about in class and the different examples of how blacks face so many different burdens
and are faced with difficulties in doing tasks that white people do on a normal

Data And Methodology Of M A
3. Data and Methodology This section begins with a description of the process in constructing
the sample used for the study. To obtain the sample of M A deals, data was primarily sourced
from the Thomson Reuters Securities Data Company (SDC) Platinum Database, a widely used
database for M A studies (Harford, 2005; Popli and Sinha, 2014; Carow et al, 2004). To obtain
financial information such as company daily share prices and index level data, the DataStream
database was utilized. The section then covers the quantitative methods used to test the
hypotheses regarding the performances of first movers and late followers in an M A wave. 3.1.
Sample 3.1.1. Broad Sample An initial sample of 33, 434 completed M A deals for the period 1990
2014 by publicly listed acquiring firms with deal value above USD$10 million (m) was
extracted from Thomson Reuters SDC Platinum Database. 3.1.2. Wave Identification Based on
the broad sample, distinct wave periods were identified. A simple wave identification method was
employed based on common characteristics associated with M A waves. M A waves are described
as periods beginning with low M A activity, which sharply increases before reaching a peak level,
followed by a fall in M A activity (Popli and Sinha, 2014; Hou et al, 2015; Haleblian et al, 2012).
The broad sample was organized in terms of the total number of deals announced on a yearly
basis from 1990 2014 as seen in Graph 1a. A trend line was imposed which illustrated two wave

The Problem Of Instant Space Travel
With all of the television shows showing instant arrival, and teleportation, how come they aren t
possible yet? A problem that some people are trying to solve is, instant space travel, well almost
instant. There are a few smaller problems, hidden within this larger main point; to be more
specific, three problems. The main paragraphs will discuss the problem and the possible solution.
What are the problems, that are in the way of fast, safe, and efficient space travel? They are as
follows, Price, Safety, and the engine. The ability to travel through the stars, was always a dream
of many children, but now, with the technology that is possessed, what is stopping that dream from
becoming a reality? There may be difficult hurdles to go over, but the solutions aren t as far as one
might think.
With the current limitations of our technology and the overall price of spaceflight, our space
program is unable to go as far as we could. The current price is far too high for reasonable space
travel, but, how much does a trip to, let s say, Mars, cost? Well, according to The Mars Society:
Estimates of the cost of a human Mars exploration program over the years have been wildly
disparate, leaving much confusion in their wake. On the high end of the scale was the Space
Exploration Initiative proposed by President George H. W. Bush in 1989 at $450 billion; Mars
Direct occupies the low end of the scale at roughly $30 billion.(Answer to question number two)
Mars One also released their

Race in Five Film Versions of Shakespeare s Othello Essay...
William Shakespeare s Othello is only moderately interested in questions of race and racism. For
Shakespeare, Othello s blackness was mainly a plot device. Though the bard did demonstrate
concerns about racial and religious prejudice, in Othello and The Merchant of Venice, his interest in
the tragedy of the Moorwas principally psychological. For Shakespeareand his contemporary
audience, Othello was about jealousy, hatred, and vindictiveness.
The play has aged well, as have all Shakespeare s plays, but not, perhaps, in the ways Shakespeare
s contemporaries would have predicted. In Shakespeare s time, it would have been acceptable for
Othello to kill his wife, had she truly been unfaithful. What made Othello a tragic criminal to ...

Douglas Brode states, Wells was fully aware that Shakespeare had been a pre Freudian
psychologist (154). Brode adds that, in the early 1950s when the psychological film was at its
peak, Othello served Wellesinterest in Freudian psychology (154 155).
According to Michael MacLiammoir, who plays Iago to Welles lead, Welles believed Iago was
impotent and a closet homosexual who married Emilia, played by Faye Compton, as his cover
so he could pass for heterosexual. In his published diary of the making of the film, Put Money in
Thy Purse, MacLiammoir goes on to say that Welles Iago has a hero s crush on Othello, and
becomes upset and jealous as a hurt lover when Othello gives a promotion to Cassio, played by
Michael Laurence, instead of him. To add insult to injury, Othello is rumored to have slept with a
frustrated Emilia. In Welles version, both the director and Iago buy this motive. When Iago sees
Othello and Cassio, played by Derek Jacobi, joined together as brothers, it is too much for Iago.
According to Brode, Welles was adamant that MacLiammoir, appear, with the help of makeup and
performance, to be castrated (155).
Welles shot Othello on location in North Africa and Europe, and his use of camera angles and the
outdoor scenery is striking, as Jack F. Forgens notes:
Shapes on the screen are less and less easily recognizable: compositions are tense, full of diagonals
and faces are obscured, crossed with shadows, or

Analysis Of The Poem The Blood On The Leaves By Abel...
Artists in modern music have been using more and more samples of older music as they run out
of ideas. Samples of older songs can enhance the feel of new music and give older people a
portion to relate to within current music. A lot of the time, the younger generation doesn t know
where the sample actually came from or the story behind it. Also many listeners don t know how
much it has changed or been through to fit into the song they are now listening to. Like in Kanye s
Blood on the Leaves , Kanye uses the Nina Simone s cover of Strange Fruitand not the original.
There is a long history behind the sample of Strange Fruit and the song itself coming from a very
dark period of time. The poem has been rearranged into small bits and... Show more content on

Meeropol created tons of imagery while writing this poem. He starts off the poem with the line
Southern trees bear a strange fruit , saying that black bodies are like strange fruit that only grow
on southern trees, which was true. The next line saying, Blood on the leaves and blood at the
root , clearly showing that something or someone died in that tree. These two first lines share,
both rhymes in the middle and at the end with trees and fruit and leaves and root , which create
the flow within the poem. The next line Black body swinging in the southern breeze , Meeropol
creates the image of a black body swinging back and forth and you can imagine the wind whistling
through the trees, which creates a disturbing image, but also shows the power in it. The last line
Strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees echoes what is said in the first line of the poem. These
last two lines used end rhyme to continue the rhythm of the first two lines of the poem. The next
stanza continues the rhythm and rhyme by using end rhyme. Another thing that the next stanza
does, is that is creates a contrast between the nice things that can be in the South, but also the
misery and suffering that happens in the South. The word pastoral

Miller s Dramatic Effects of Dishonesty in Death of a Salesman
Introduction ============
Dishonesty is common throughout Death of a Salesman. Whether the lies are intentional or
delusional, Willy, Biff, and Happy tell untruths all the time, Biff finally realizes that they ve been
lying to each other and themselves so much, that they don t even know who they really are.
Dishonesty is also highlighted by Willy s relationship with the woman and his delusion in relation to
his career. Finally, Linda s honesty makes the other characters dishonesty move evident and
therefore dramatic.

The fact that it does not occur to either of the boys that there s something wrong with this is very
shocking and the audience is left to wonder how they developed such an attitude
Biff
Biff is deceitful about his life but his dishonesty is compounded, as Willy is dishonest about
him. When Biff stole a football from the locker room when he was in high school, and he
claimed that he took it because the coach told him to work on his passing. Willy acts for a
moment as if Biff should return it, but when Hap implies that Biff was wrong for taking the ball,
Willy defends Biff and declares that the coach, rather than being angry with Biff for stealing,
would have been proud and impressed with Biff s initiative. Willy tells Biff that it s OK that he
took the ball because the coach likes him. Willy tells his son it s perfectly fine to steal from people,
as long as you are well liked; they ll let you get away with it. Willy finds it impossible to understand
how someone who was as popular and well liked as Biff was in high school, could have grown
up to be such a failure. Willy always believed that Biff s popularity would naturally lead to great
success in the business world. But that s not the way things have worked out for Biff, and Willy
is baffled by it. Willy shows this by telling Biff to pretend his work out West was business related

A Long Way Gone By Ishmael Beah Analysis
Politics Are Not The Bomb
When mad, one may act vengefully without thinking. Others take time to mull things over and
think of plans of revenge. In either case, retaliation or vengeance is never positive or fruitful.
These negative effects can clearly be seen in Ishmael Beah s A Long Way Gone through Beah s
experiences as a child soldier, as well as Al Qaeda s attacks on the Atocha train station in Madrid,
Spain. Beah s representation of the effects and dangers of vengeance helps delineate the terrorists
reasons behind their attacks in Spain because both Beah and the terrorists sought retribution for
what had been done to them. During rush hour on the morning of March 11, 2004, the Atocha train
station in Madrid, Spain, was very busy. People ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When his family was murdered he was filled up with anger (Beah 95). All he wanted to do was
kill whoever was responsible. Beah and his soldiers gain nothing through violence and murder. In
fact, it causes all the child soldiers to suffer from extreme PTSD and have awful nightmares and
a guilty conscience. Qaeda went through the same thought process when Spanish troops invaded
Iraq and one of their cells was dismantled. They thought they would get their point across by
killing 191 people. Just as Ishmael Beah does, the terrorists resorted to violence and avengement
as a means of getting what they wanted. Al Qaeda s main goal, to get Spanish troops out of Iraq,
succeeded in the end. By bombarding a train station full of people they succeeded in changing the
public s opinion and, therefore, forced the citizens of Spain to vote for a leader that would pull out

The Spread of the Plague
The word plague means a dangerous disease that quickly spreads and causes death. Alexander
Yersin identified the cause of the bubonic plague. He discovered that the disease was being
caused by a deadly bacterium which he named after himself, Yersinia pestis. Yersin worked with a
scientist named Pasteur in France to develop a treatment to fight the plague. Yersin was the first to
suggest that rats and fleas were the main cause for the spreading of the plague. Symptoms of the
plague emerge after one to seven days which include fever, swelling in the regional lymph nodes in
the groin, armpit, or neck. In most cases the bacterium spread to the bloodstream and central
nervous system resulting in death 100 percent of the time. There are actually three types of plague;
the most common was the bubonic plague. The disease in humans has three clinical forms: bubonic
pneumonic and septicemia. The Bubonic plague is the best known form in popular lore, and indeed
it constitutes about three fourths of plague cases (Encyclopedia Britannica 3). The bubonic plague
is the blame for causing the Black Deathof the fourteenth century. The symptoms of the bubonic
plague strike rapidly within two to five days of being bitten by a flea or rat. The first stage of
symptoms includes; fever, chills, severe headache, sore throat, and muscle aches. The second stage
of symptoms include; vomiting, diarrhea, seizures, and respiratory failure. The bacterium travel to
the immune system and began to break it

Croatia. Summer 2015. I am sitting in the back of a stranger s car on the way to a cemetery as a
little girl in a yellow tutu reaches into her white sparkly purse on the seat between us and pulls

communicate through hand signals while she tries to teach me the Croatian alphabet. She laughs at
my funny pronunciation, and I smile at her enthusiasm for spelling every passing sign. I was

As a child who slept with a map over my head and whose parents joked had more space for books
in my bed than me, I found in them and news my childhood heroes and some of the stories out of
which I would find my passions: from Edward R. Murrow s broadcasts from London an interest

John Colville s The Fringes of Power: 10 Downing Street Diaries a love of public service, and
from a BBC news clip of a family under siege in a cemetery a desire to understand the roots of
conflict in the Balkans and reconciliation in the time since. While at the University of Tennessee I

The team just wanted to bounce a few ideas off of them, but Ben thought it was a formal meeting
that he had to be present and a part of. The team was angry because Ben was so aggressive. They
just needed to be reminded that IFG had certain protocols they needed to follow. Josh s team
also struggled with coming up with the costs and benefits of their proposed work for Sheema
(McKeen et al., 2012). They wouldn t be aware of the fiscal cost until they knew exactly what
they were capable of. It would be difficult for his team to outline their budget, but they could come
up with an approximate estimate of their costs and benefits for Sheema. They could sit down with
her and explain the possible worth of their proposed ideas, so she would not be bothering them
during their process.
How can Josh win support for his team s three point plan to use technology to help IFG reach its
customers? When Josh and his team was finally ready for his presentation, it was picked apart by
the IT office. They exploited every hole in his three point plan. Sheema was concerned about the
business values of the initiatives. Ben needed a clear commitment on the benefits. John was
worried about bad reviews by customers. Rick had a security concern about the cloud. In order to

Exposure therapy is exposing the patient to the phobic stimulus. For example, if one has a
phobia of dogs, then the therapist will slowly expose them repeatedly to a dog. This type of
therapy is considered the best treatment for specific phobia. There are some other treatments to
help, though. Another type of therapy proven to help specific phobia is cognitive behavioral
therapy. In this type of therapy, a patient would be exposed to an object, but the main objective
is to create a different mind set in the future about the object and new ways to cope when around
the phobic stimulus. Along with a type of therapy, a doctor may prescribe medications to be
taken with the therapy sessions. These medications are meant to help the body and the mind to

phobias and to be used when the patient needs it. Many doctors prescribe medications that are

The case study I chose is that of six year old Tavion Robinson who was taken to Methodist
Hospital by his father for a broken arm and abrasions. There were a couple of things in this case
that could insinuate that the broken arm and abrasions were not an accident. The father being
hesitant to leave Tavion alone with hospital staff was the first red flag that something could be
wrong. Secondly, Mr. Robinson s request that he be notified prior to releasing Tavion s records to
anyone. Thirdly, informing the Emergency Department that Tavion s parents are divorced and that

I do believe that Tavion s mother has the right to view his records especially if she suspects
abuse. Along with the inconsistencies of the finding of the injuries and the suspicions of the
mother I feel that this is enough reason to investigate the suspicion of child abuse. The concerns
of the mother is valid and she also is aware of how the father handles his son on a day to day
basis she isn t suspicious for no reason at all. There is history amongst the adults before they
divorced she knows how he was disciplined as a kid and he could be using the same discipline as
that in which his parents used on him. The mother has several avenues that she can take on her
suspicions she could talk to the social worker at the hospital, the Department of Family Protective
Services or contact the police. The ethical issue we are dealing with is the mother wanting the
hospital documents of her son s visit and the father denying her access without him being consulted.
Also the injuries not matching up to the father s story.
Confidentially will be the legal issue in this case regarding Tavion s medical records. Of course
the father s request of being contact if there is a request to view the files makes him look
suspicious and makes it appear he is hiding something. However, if the hospital staff suspects that

The Role Played by Women in Generating More Revenue in the...
Q.1 Could female economy play better role in different companies to increase revenue/sales in
future?
Yes, female economy could play fruitful role in future for different companies in term of
increase sales/revenue. Because according to Harvard Business Review women represent one of
the largest market opportunities in the world. The numbers of female workers are increasing
day by day, till the end of 2014, more than $28 trillion consumer spending will belong to females
all over the world and the income of females could cross $18 trillion during same period which is
two times bigger than China and India combined G.D.P. All big companies are more likely to
target female customers but the biggest potential of female buyers lies on six main industries
where companies could get more revenue by targeting females. In four industries females are most
likely to spend more in Food, Fitness, Beauty and Apparel and rest of two industries are Financial
Services and Health Care where women are not satisfied. Companies are belonged to these six
industries have got big opportunity to generate huge revenues by capturing the interest of working
women.
Food Industry
Food is representing one of the largest opportunities because large numbers of female buyers are
involved in grocery shopping and meal preparation. I talk about Pakistan; next 15 to 20 years
Pakistan will also become emerging female market, female will be more independent for

The Prevalence of Younger Students Lying to Health...
Communication is a functional, purposeful, and strategic aspect of human socialization. Individuals
have the ability make conscious decisions to control their expressive language to manipulate the
perceived interpretations of others (Burgoon, Callister, Hunsaker, 445). As people acquire language,
they develop sensitivity to the Gricean maxims of conversation. The first of these maxims is
Quantity I , or the failure to provide enough information. The second of these maxims is Quantity II
, or the provision of too much or redundant information. The third of these maxims is Quality , or
veracity (Siegal, Iozzi, and Surian, 2009). These three Gricean maxims of conversation alone
encompass the prevalence of various forms of lying in the context of human communication. The
significance of lying is that it can change various outcomes that negatively impact various
circumstances. In the realm of health care, patients may lieto health professionals for a number of
reasons including to acquire unnecessary or excessive medications, to avoid embarrassment or
judgment, and to reduce expensive medical charges that may accumulate over time. No matter
how well intentioned the doctor faced with a patient in need of help may be, it is he who has the
advantage resulting from the knowledge he has (the truth) and his skills: a disproportion occurs
between these two parties (Tanasiewicz, 2005, 16). Regardless of the motivation patients may have
for lying, they may be jeopardizing

Criteria, Policies, Procedures and Standards states:
(a)The formation of policies and design of educational programs should involve students, graduates,

How to Solve The Foreclosure Crisis Essay
Due to the recession that our economy has recently experienced, American consumers are currently
undertaking serious financial problems. Such difficulties are obvious in real estate, with
homeowners having to deal with a major foreclosure crisis. According to studies by the Mortgage
Bankers Association, one out of every 200 homes will eventually be foreclosed, and 250,000
families enter into foreclosureevery three months. Although the worst times are still in our future,
with help from the United States government, we as citizens will eventually overcome the
horrendous situation of America s current real estate market. To combat our nation s foreclosure
crisis, I believe it is necessary to inform Americans about their options, rights,... Show more content

In the event that the profits from the sold home cannot cover the mortgagee s payments, the lender
may file a deficiency judgment against them. More than 6 in 10 homeowners delinquent in their
mortgage payments are not aware of services that mortgage lenders can offer to individuals
having trouble with their mortgage (Freddie Mac), such as bankruptcy, appeals, a motion, or an
exemption from the creditor. When a deficiency judgment is filed against a debtor, the
individual should seek the assistance of an attorney as soon as possible. Deficiency judgments
are rare, however, because a majority of lenders feel that if a borrower is not able to make their
payments initially, there is no reason to spend their time and money on further legal action. With
the occurring realization that foreclosure is a losing proposition for both the lender and the
borrower, negotiating a temporary delay in payments may benefit both parties. Contrary to the
belief that contacting a lender for help is embarrassing, useless, and will cause the home to be lost
more quickly (Freddie Mac), lenders are usually receptive to the idea of reconstructing a payment
plan. According to Craig Focardi, research director of TowerGroup s consumer lending division

American Drinking Culture Essay
Often times, when people hear the word college , they visualize a lot of binge drinking. Alcohol
does have an impact on academic performance. After giving you my spiel of information, you may
begin to understand why the graduation rates are higher in Europe than they are in America.
The drinking culture in Europe is a lot different from the drinking culture in the United States. In
America, the drinking culture serves the purpose of getting drunk. The majority of college students
in American don t just casually drink. Instead, they drink as much as they can in order to have the
best time possible. In general, American students don t touch alcohol otherwise. Typically, the most
casual drinking that American students are exposed to are their ... Show more content on

Casual drinking is something that is greatly appreciated, no matter where you go. It is normal to
have a pint or two every night at the pub. But if someone in America were to do that, we would
accuse them of being an alcoholic. Although the American drinking culture and the European
drinking culture have vastly different atmospheres, the basic principle of drinking remains the
same: you do not have to get hammered when you drink.
According to the World Health Organization, in many European countries where the drinking age is
18 or younger, teens have more drinking occasions per month, but fewer occasions of dangerous
intoxication than their American counterparts. One in ten of all drinking occasions result in
intoxication in southern European countries, whereas in America, nearly half of all drinking
occasions result in intoxication.
This also leads to problems with exchange students. A culture of casual drinking combined with a
lower drinking age makes it easy for American students to get carried away. The Universityof
Washington for Psychology of Addictive Behaviors reported that American students typically
double their alcohol consumption while abroad, from an average of four drinks a week to eight.
While the study was unable to determine in what capacity the students drank, the fact remains that
the students in the survey drank more while abroad. This does not come as a surprise, especially
considering American college students have a reputation of drinking heavily in the first

Philadelphia Fire By Cujoe Essay
Two texts that experiment with traditional forms of narration are Philadelphia Fire by John Edgar
Wideman and Pnin by Vladimir Nabokov. The narrator in Pnin tells Pnin s experience as a Russian
American professor, but the narration seems untrustworthy since he provides information about
Pnin that he could have only known if he was with him at the time. The narratoralso occasionally
incorporates his personal experiences in the text. On the other hand, the narrator, Cujoe, in
Philadelphia Fire attempts to tell the story of the 1985 police bombing that took place in
Philadelphia that targeted the group called MOVE. The narration of the story is complex because it
is told through Cujoe s stream of consciousness. The intersexuality and the Meta... Show more

Since a lot of the story is his stream of consciousness the reader needs to understand the world
through Cudjoe s perspective. This narration differs from the stereotypical style and is harder to
follow because Cudjoe is constantly thinking of various events and digresses in his thoughts. For
example, Cudjoe will look out his bathroom window and he will begin to think about women he
had relationships with and then he will write about his friend Sam. The reader needs to be able to
follow along with his thought process. AT times it seems like Cudjoe is not remembering a
memory correctly, but it s all a part of his thought process. Another element that makes the story
distinctive is that this is a fictional novel writing about Cudjoe who is writing a novel. In Cudjoe s
writing process he includes interviews with the people in the town who were affected by the
bombing. Additionally, Cudjoe incorporates Shakespeare s play the Tempest while he s narrating.
The narrator makes multiple references to various works of literature that the reader might not
catch unless they are familiar with that work. While it seems the narrator isn t exclusively
discussing the bombing at all times, not writing about the story in a linear and conventional form
shows the complexity about writing about this historic

Obstructive Sleep Apnea And Hypertension
There is a strong association between obstructive sleep apnea and hypertension, among cardiac
conditions such as heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias and coronary heart disease. OSA and
hypertension share similar risk factors such as age and obesity, and are commonly co morbid.
During an obstructive sleep apnea episode the patient experiences reduced airflow due to
obstruction in the upper airway, leading to hypoxia and hypercapnia, the patient is typically
awakened by these episodes. Due to hypoxia, OSA causes an increase in sympathetic activity,

deaths and tons of destruction.
According to Tropical cyclones with maximum sustained surface winds of less than 39 miles per

comparing night and day, with one capable of springing into action, the other incapacitated by

Another difference concerns the public housing. Sandy revealed how public housing has been built

Gender Roles In Macbeth
The play Macbeth, written by Shakespeare, describes Macbeth s rise to power and the obstacles
he faces on his journey. The witches prophesied his rise of power that will lead to him becoming
King. He must make many drastic decisions that will lead to becoming king and powerful. Males
often strive to obtain supremacy and glory. In Shakespeare s Macbeth, male roles are strictly
defined as cruel and violent; however, not all men follow these standards. Male genderroles and the
stereotypes they reinforce, may or may not define the way a male acts in society.
In Act One, Scene Seven, Lady Macbeth attacks Macbeth s pride in order to manipulate his
decision. Macbeth doubts the choice to kill the King, but Lady Macbeth wants the power and the
title for Macbeth and herself. She asks Macbeth, Art thou afeard to be the same in thine own act
and valor as thou art in desire? Wouldst thou have that which thou esteem st the ornament of life
and live a coward in thine own esteem, (1.7). Lady Macbeth questions Macbeth s manliness, by
asking if he is a coward or a noble king. No man wants to be called a coward by his female
companion, or anyone else. In doing this, she mocks his fear of committing regicide, by calling his
masculinity into question. Consequently, this affect s Macbeth s decision to kill King Duncan.
Macbeth believes that men should be violent, cruel, brave, and unremorseful. This viewpoint has
been instilled in him by people surrounding him such as his wife. His pride and masculinity were
superior to any future punishment for this action. His myopic view prevents him from truly seeing
the consequences to come of his decisions. The egotism of some men seems to take over their
perspective of right and wrong. Males today do not want to be inferior to women, because they
would seem weak.
Similarly, in Act Three, Scene Four, the audience notices more evidence that Macbeth follows the
standard gender role of males. Macbeth hosts a banquet full of important people. Moments before,
Macbeth sends murderers to kill Banquo and his son. One of the murderers returns to tell Macbeth
the news of Banquo s death. Due to Macbeth s guilty conscience, he envisions the ghost of Banquo.
This starts to drive him insane before his

Maya Civilization Collapse
The example of societal collapse in which I will be making reference to throughout this essay is
the Maya civilization. The Maya civilization is, probably the best known of all early American
civilizations. (Fagan, 1995) It was at its strongest point between AD 300 AND 900. Around AD
900 was the time of its collapse. This civilizationwas developed in a densely, tropical forest on
either highlands or lowlands. Today to visit a Mayan site, people would go to the modern
Mexican state, capital city of Merida. This site was once home to the New World s most advanced
Native American civilization before European arrival. (Diamond, 2009) Over the years there has

affect the societal well being of a group. Traditions were handed down from generation to
generation. The ways of living and teaching were embedded into each Mayan person. Some of
these ways of living consisted as being hunter gatherers, this is because their predecessors were
known for their hunting and gathering of supplies to keep them alive. Climate change and
education come into consideration here whilst talking about their well being. Due to the fact that
their predecessors were hunter gatherers, the weather had a major impact on their ways of

The Effective Language In Henry Lawson s Bush Undertaker
Henry Lawson presents descriptive language to represent the challenges of the bush and establishes
the hardship and loneliness derived from living in harsh conditions, conveying the differences
between poverty and wealth. In the Bush Undertaker, Lawson uses detailed and expressive
language to describe the setting such as the bank of a barren creek or broiling Christmas day ,
representing the scorching hot and dry climate of Australia. The experience of remaining in the
extreme heat of Australia conditions over an extended period shapes the individual s character. The
informal colloquial language of the solitary old shepherd is an effect of long term isolation and
loneliness due to the harsh reality of the Australian bush. Lawson describes the undertakeras a mad
hatter , displaying his madness through speaking his thoughts to himself and his animal
companion, Five Bob. I likes to keep it jist on the sizzle, he said in explanation to himself; hard
bilin makes it tough I ll keep it jist a simmerin . Here his soliloquy was interrupted by the return
of the dog. The undertaker s crazy character does not cease there. His infatuation for the
Aboriginal corpse further reveals his bizarre nature, for a normal suburban individual would be
repelled from that kind of situation. The hatter not only holds a conversation with the corpse but
also comes in to physical contact with it. Since he dwells in the poor, arid bush, resource is scarce,
therefore, the hatter is compelled

Ethical Ethics Of Lululemon
One of Lululemon s ethical issues that it is currently practiced is that Lululemon encourages
employees to ease drop on its customers to gain more knowledge on the current complaints/defects

wanting to avoid collecting large amounts of customer data through large data techniques. Rather,
the company aims to have a close and open relationship with its customers. Lululemon would rather

Maternal Depression in Women and Its Effect on the Family
Maternal Depression
Depression is a prevalent issue among women. Approximately 25% of women in will have a major
depressive disorder at least once in their lifetime and 15% of the female population will experience
post partum depression. (Women and Mental Illness, 2003) With these numbers, it is obvious that
maternal depression has profound effect on the Canadian family. Mother have the most influence in
a child s life, since they generally more involved in raising the children then men are. In most cases,
this influence serves to direct the child to healthy development. But when the mother is suffering
from depression, what effect does it have on the intellectual and emotional development of her
child? The child is definitively affected starting as early as infancy and through adolescence.
Depression: Symptoms and Causes
Depression may be simply defined as a state of sadness. Many may feel depressed for a short time
when things do not go their way, but when this feeling persists and interferes with daily activity a
doctor may diagnose an individual with clinical depression and order medication. Genetic
predisposition, personal problems, and seasonal hormonal changes are some of the many things that
may trigger depression. A depressed individual may encounter feelings of despair and sadness,
constant fatigue, constant headaches, among other things. If left untreated, depression may lead to
suicide. (Mood Disorders, 2003)

Frequent discussions about the possibility of peace in the Middle East often route into the
subject of Islam and the inability or lack of desire of the Middle East countries to separate state
from religion. It is common to hear arguments blame Islamic extremists for the unsettled
atmosphere of the Middle East. Where in some instances this may be accurate, it is highly
inaccurate in most cases; but I would like to emphasize the word some. Going back to the
timeline of the Middle East disputes, we can see that majority of these battles were not
established out of religious means. Most were catapulted from land, tax, and regime issues.
Take the Wars of the Hellenistic Monarchies in Syria in 318 170 B.C. for example. This is a
demonstration of generations of war between the Seleucids and Ptolemy s in an effort to gain
control of Syria. Does this differ in comparison to the decades long Palestinian/Israeli war? Not
much. The only difference is that peace is on the world s radar as something to strive for and
ultimately achieve. As the Middle East continues to repeat history for very similar principles, the
rest of the world is left wondering when it will all end; when in fact, the rest of the world s
countries and continents have all had a very similar history of conflict as well.
Although the Middle East represents one of the oldest territories in the world, comparison of
timeline battles to other countries is a bit

Boxing has elements to it that teaches you more about fighting than you think is possible. People

All types of fighters from mixed martial arts should learn to box because they will benefit from it.
Even if the punches and techniques aren t interesting to you, it s still a good sport to learn and

The Good Shepherd And Thomas Groome s Shared Christian...
At first glance, it may seem as if the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and Thomas Groome s
Shared Christian Praxis have nothing in common with one another, but while they do share many
differences, they also share some similarities. In terms of teaching the divine pedagogy, the two
catechetical approaches of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherdand Shared Christian Praxis have
some similar and some different theological, philosophical, and educational principles, which aid in
the effectiveness of their practice for their specific target age group.
First, the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a specific form of catechesis aimed towards
children ages 3 to 12. There are three levels involved with this form of catechesis: level one (3 6
year olds), level two (7 9 year olds), and level three (10 12 year olds). The name of the space
where this catechesis occurs is The Atrium, and the Atrium is designed specifically for the
children with small tables, chairs, and shelves. A child s capacity for understanding God should
be taken seriously, and the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd does this. In fact, it can be said that
children have an extraordinary capacity for prayer, and theirs is a prayer of praise and
thanksgiving, which expresses the nearness and transcendence of God (Cavalletti, 44). Through the

Stereotypes In The Movie Rush Hour
The comedic movie Rush Hour is known for its clever humor and intriguing diversion of two
extremely different cultures. The movie Rush Hour, is starred by the actor Jackie Chan and
famous comedian and actor Chris Tucker. James Carter played by Chris Tucker, as a Los
Angeles police department officer is given the role by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, also
known as the F.B.I., to babysit Inspector Lee and keep him out of the ongoing kidnapping
investigation. Jackie Chan, known in the movie as Inspector Lee, is a private inspector from
China that is sent to the United States by the Chinese Ambassador to help find his daughter who
was kidnapped. These two characters with two mismatched personalities, are forced to work
together to solve the case that will ultimately lead to the rescue of the Chinese Ambassador s
daughter. Stereotypes are introduced throughout films to create a character and give the character a
personality. The characters are also shown to break their stereotypes throughout the movie by the
various events that take place. In Rush Hour , James Carter and Inspector Lee are given specific
stereotypes that have been placed on their cultures for many years. For example, James Carter
assumes that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Industrial Capitalism
Where democratic principles and practices are not adhered to within an organization, then the
potential for one group or clique to dominate power exists. This was the case with the Teamsters
Union. History has shown in the United States, that when this occurs, other individuals or voices,
rarely have a say in the decision making process (Summers, 637). This can be detrimental because
a bureaucracy is created as a result. This structure eliminates an organized opposition; therefore
those in power are secured to do what they want without anyone opposing them. If individuals in
power are vulnerable to believe they need the support of organized crime to ensure their hold on
power, corruption is sure to ensue. Likewise, corrupt union leaders enjoy... Show more content on

Power can be defined as the ability to cause or prevent change. The structure of a labour union is
important, because power is channeled to decision makers through organizational structures.
Moral power can be defined as the ability to cause or prevent change through appeals to
fundamental concepts of rightness, which will, of course, be relative to time, place, and
circumstances (Marshall, 445). There is a theory involving the diminishing utility of power that
states organizations are most vulnerable to the types of power they are attempting to acquire or
have lost (Marshall, 447). By allowing organized crime to infiltrate, the union loses moral power
and therefore loses credibility when trying to bargain for improved or safer working conditions
for its members or when trying to draft an image of social justice. As mentioned in the previous
paragraph, if unions have the wrong leader in power, corruption is more likely to occur because
of this lack of moral power given by third parties. In essence, the organized crime incumbent is the
third party the corrupt union turns toward. However, this third party will not justify or impute
moral values to the betterment of the organization. While the leader of a union is to make business
decisions based on economic, political, or physical information, the benefit of a third party is that
they will almost always judge an issue on

How Color And The Affects It Has On The Human Brain
Color is any hue, tint, or shade of light that can be separated as in a spectrum or rainbow as defined
by the Oxford English Dictionary. There have been many studies concerning color and the affects it
has on the human brain. According to Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe, a eighteenth century writer,
each colorevokes a different emotion or sensation, which can be seen and studied using a prism, the
grand instrument in the experimental field of research into light. So why does color matter in
marketing? In a recent study, researchers found that 92.6% of people put most importance on visual
factors when purchasing products, (Morton). A key factor to visual composition is color choices,
pairings, schemes, and the emotions and feelings each of those colors evoke.
The human brains reaction to color is called color psychology. Marketers consider the meaning
behind each color when designing merchandise packaging, and consumers choose certain products
because they find the packaging to be appealing, and subconsciously playing into the plans of the
companies. The history and study of color has presented a plethora of information regarding the
important role color plays in everyday life. The scientific reasoning behind color psychology has
yet to be specified due to the wide variety of factors that could affect the results, such as personal
preference, personal history, and environmental conditions. Although marketers might not consider
such specific details of color psychology, there

  • 3. Causes of Global Warming Many businesses, industrial factories, and vehicles produce massive amounts of natural gases that affect the world in many ways. These gas particles that move rapidly and constantly collide with the atmosphere. This causes the air on Earth to contain higher kinetic energy due to the fact that more gas particles from the natural gases are colliding with the air particles. The higher kinetic energy results in higher temperature and heating of Earths surface. The heating of the Earth s surface causes many of the world problems that we have today. As more and more factories and industries produce gases that pollute the world, they also increase the effects of global warming. Gasparticles from these natural gases move rapidly throughout the atmosphere. Since these gases are still near the surface of the Earth, these gas particles collide much more and become more rapid creating more kinetic energy. If there is more kinetic energy in these gas particles, there is an increase in temperature. Around the world there are so many products and resources that require the release of gases. These gases, once released, increase the temperature in the atmosphere to be able to melt the ice at the north and south poles. The gas particles are able to spread out throughout the Earth s atmosphere to trap the heat which increases the temperature of the Earth s surface allowing the ice to melt. Hurricanes, storms, and droughts are caused by numerous factors. Droughts are caused by the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Poor Marner went out with that despair in his soul that shaken trust in God and man, which is little short madness to a loving nature (Eliot, 14). Silas believed that his name would be cleared from the crime he allegedly committed as he did not challenge the methods used to determine his innocence. Because he allowed chance to control his life, Silas lost all hope in humanity and barricaded himself from the outside world. He invited no comer to step across his door still, and he never strolled into the village to drink a pint at the Rainbow, or to gossip at the wheelwright. (Eliot, 7). This quote exemplifies Silas mistrust of people and his isolation from society as it shows Silas had no desire to connect with his neighbors because he never integrated into his new home, Raveloe. Stevenson began the lecture by discussing how the audience has the capability to create more change, justice, and opportunity in America. Stevenson spoke about the 5 things required in order to be able to make more change for the better. The first thing that we must be able to do is that we have to be concerned about our identity. To obtain the sample of M A deals, data was primarily sourced from the Thomson Reuters Securities Data Company (SDC) Platinum Database, a widely used database for M A studies (Harford, 2005; Popli and Sinha, 2014; Carow et al, 2004). To obtain financial information such as company daily share prices and index level data, the DataStream database was utilized. The section then covers the quantitative methods used to test the hypotheses regarding the performances of first movers and late followers in an M A wave. 3.1. Sample 3.1.1. Broad Sample An initial sample of 33, 434 completed M A deals for the period 1990 2014 by publicly listed acquiring firms with deal value above USD$10 million (m) was extracted from Thomson Reuters SDC Platinum Database. 3.1.2. Wave Identification Based on the broad sample, distinct wave periods were identified. A simple wave identification method was employed based on common characteristics associated with M A waves. M A waves are described as periods beginning with low M A activity, which sharply increases before reaching a peak level, followed by a fall in M A activity (Popli and Sinha, 2014; Hou et al, 2015; Haleblian et al, 2012). What are the problems, that are in the way of fast, safe, and efficient space travel? They are as follows, Price, Safety, and the engine. The ability to travel through the stars, was always a dream of many children, but now, with the technology that is possessed, what is stopping that dream from becoming a reality? There may be difficult hurdles to go over, but the solutions aren t as far as one might think. With the current limitations of our technology and the overall price of spaceflight, our space program is unable to go as far as we could. The current price is far too high for reasonable space travel, but, how much does a trip to, let s say, Mars, cost? Well, according to The Mars Society: Estimates of the cost of a human Mars exploration program over the years have been wildly disparate, leaving much confusion in their wake. • 8. Race in Five Film Versions of Shakespeare s Othello Essay... William Shakespeare s Othello is only moderately interested in questions of race and racism. For Shakespeare, Othello s blackness was mainly a plot device. Though the bard did demonstrate concerns about racial and religious prejudice, in Othello and The Merchant of Venice, his interest in the tragedy of the Moorwas principally psychological. For Shakespeareand his contemporary audience, Othello was about jealousy, hatred, and vindictiveness. The play has aged well, as have all Shakespeare s plays, but not, perhaps, in the ways Shakespeare s contemporaries would have predicted. Brode adds that, in the early 1950s when the psychological film was at its peak, Othello served Wellesinterest in Freudian psychology (154 155). According to Michael MacLiammoir, who plays Iago to Welles lead, Welles believed Iago was impotent and a closet homosexual who married Emilia, played by Faye Compton, as his cover so he could pass for heterosexual. In his published diary of the making of the film, Put Money in Thy Purse, MacLiammoir goes on to say that Welles Iago has a hero s crush on Othello, and becomes upset and jealous as a hurt lover when Othello gives a promotion to Cassio, played by Michael Laurence, instead of him. To add insult to injury, Othello is rumored to have slept with a frustrated Emilia. In Welles version, both the director and Iago buy this motive. When Iago sees Othello and Cassio, played by Derek Jacobi, joined together as brothers, it is too much for Iago. According to Brode, Welles was adamant that MacLiammoir, appear, with the help of makeup and performance, to be castrated (155). He discovered that the disease was being caused by a deadly bacterium which he named after himself, Yersinia pestis. Yersin worked with a scientist named Pasteur in France to develop a treatment to fight the plague. Yersin was the first to suggest that rats and fleas were the main cause for the spreading of the plague. Symptoms of the plague emerge after one to seven days which include fever, swelling in the regional lymph nodes in the groin, armpit, or neck. In most cases the bacterium spread to the bloodstream and central nervous system resulting in death 100 percent of the time. There are actually three types of plague; the most common was the bubonic plague. The disease in humans has three clinical forms: bubonic pneumonic and septicemia. The Bubonic plague is the best known form in popular lore, and indeed it constitutes about three fourths of plague cases (Encyclopedia Britannica 3). The drinking culture in Europe is a lot different from the drinking culture in the United States. In America, the drinking culture serves the purpose of getting drunk. The majority of college students in American don t just casually drink. Instead, they drink as much as they can in order to have the best time possible. Casual drinking is something that is greatly appreciated, no matter where you go. It is normal to have a pint or two every night at the pub. But if someone in America were to do that, we would accuse them of being an alcoholic. Although the American drinking culture and the European drinking culture have vastly different atmospheres, the basic principle of drinking remains the same: you do not have to get hammered when you drink. According to the World Health Organization, in many European countries where the drinking age is 18 or younger, teens have more drinking occasions per month, but fewer occasions of dangerous intoxication than their American counterparts. One in ten of all drinking occasions result in intoxication in southern European countries, whereas in America, nearly half of all drinking occasions result in intoxication. This also leads to problems with exchange students. A culture of casual drinking combined with a lower drinking age makes it easy for American students to get carried away. The Universityof Washington for Psychology of Addictive Behaviors reported that American students typically double their alcohol consumption while abroad, from an average of four drinks a week to eight. While the study was unable to determine in what capacity the students drank, the fact remains that the students in the survey drank more while abroad. This does not come as a surprise, especially considering American college students have a reputation of drinking heavily in the first ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The narrator in Pnin tells Pnin s experience as a Russian American professor, but the narration seems untrustworthy since he provides information about Pnin that he could have only known if he was with him at the time. The narratoralso occasionally incorporates his personal experiences in the text. On the other hand, the narrator, Cujoe, in Philadelphia Fire attempts to tell the story of the 1985 police bombing that took place in Philadelphia that targeted the group called MOVE. Since a lot of the story is his stream of consciousness the reader needs to understand the world through Cudjoe s perspective. This narration differs from the stereotypical style and is harder to follow because Cudjoe is constantly thinking of various events and digresses in his thoughts. For example, Cudjoe will look out his bathroom window and he will begin to think about women he had relationships with and then he will write about his friend Sam. The reader needs to be able to follow along with his thought process. AT times it seems like Cudjoe is not remembering a memory correctly, but it s all a part of his thought process. Another element that makes the story distinctive is that this is a fictional novel writing about Cudjoe who is writing a novel. In Cudjoe s writing process he includes interviews with the people in the town who were affected by the bombing. Additionally, Cudjoe incorporates Shakespeare s play the Tempest while he s narrating. The narrator makes multiple references to various works of literature that the reader might not catch unless they are familiar with that work. • 26. Gender Roles In Macbeth The play Macbeth, written by Shakespeare, describes Macbeth s rise to power and the obstacles he faces on his journey. The witches prophesied his rise of power that will lead to him becoming King. He must make many drastic decisions that will lead to becoming king and powerful. Males often strive to obtain supremacy and glory. In Shakespeare s Macbeth, male roles are strictly defined as cruel and violent; however, not all men follow these standards. Male genderroles and the stereotypes they reinforce, may or may not define the way a male acts in society. In Act One, Scene Seven, Lady Macbeth attacks Macbeth s pride in order to manipulate his decision. Macbeth doubts the choice to kill the King, but Lady Macbeth wants the power and the title for Macbeth and herself. She asks Macbeth, Art thou afeard to be the same in thine own act and valor as thou art in desire? Wouldst thou have that which thou esteem st the ornament of life and live a coward in thine own esteem, (1.7). Lady Macbeth questions Macbeth s manliness, by asking if he is a coward or a noble king. No man wants to be called a coward by his female companion, or anyone else. In doing this, she mocks his fear of committing regicide, by calling his masculinity into question. Consequently, this affect s Macbeth s decision to kill King Duncan. Macbeth believes that men should be violent, cruel, brave, and unremorseful. This viewpoint has been instilled in him by people surrounding him such as his wife. His pride and masculinity were superior to any future punishment for this action. His myopic view prevents him from truly seeing the consequences to come of his decisions. The egotism of some men seems to take over their perspective of right and wrong. Males today do not want to be inferior to women, because they would seem weak. Similarly, in Act Three, Scene Four, the audience notices more evidence that Macbeth follows the standard gender role of males. Macbeth hosts a banquet full of important people. Moments before, Macbeth sends murderers to kill Banquo and his son. One of the murderers returns to tell Macbeth the news of Banquo s death. It is common to hear arguments blame Islamic extremists for the unsettled atmosphere of the Middle East. Where in some instances this may be accurate, it is highly inaccurate in most cases; but I would like to emphasize the word some. Going back to the timeline of the Middle East disputes, we can see that majority of these battles were not established out of religious means. Most were catapulted from land, tax, and regime issues. Take the Wars of the Hellenistic Monarchies in Syria in 318 170 B.C. for example. This is a demonstration of generations of war between the Seleucids and Ptolemy s in an effort to gain control of Syria. Does this differ in comparison to the decades long Palestinian/Israeli war? Moral power can be defined as the ability to cause or prevent change through appeals to fundamental concepts of rightness, which will, of course, be relative to time, place, and circumstances (Marshall, 445). There is a theory involving the diminishing utility of power that states organizations are most vulnerable to the types of power they are attempting to acquire or have lost (Marshall, 447). By allowing organized crime to infiltrate, the union loses moral power and therefore loses credibility when trying to bargain for improved or safer working conditions for its members or when trying to draft an image of social justice. As mentioned in the previous paragraph, if unions have the wrong leader in power, corruption is more likely to occur because of this lack of moral power given by third parties. According to Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe, a eighteenth century writer, each colorevokes a different emotion or sensation, which can be seen and studied using a prism, the grand instrument in the experimental field of research into light. So why does color matter in marketing? In a recent study, researchers found that 92.6% of people put most importance on visual factors when purchasing products, (Morton). A key factor to visual composition is color choices, pairings, schemes, and the emotions and feelings each of those colors evoke. The human brains reaction to color is called color psychology. Marketers consider the meaning behind each color when designing merchandise packaging, and consumers choose certain products because they find the packaging to be appealing, and subconsciously playing into the plans of the companies. The history and study of color has presented a plethora of information regarding the important role color plays in everyday life. The scientific reasoning behind color psychology has yet to be specified due to the wide variety of factors that could affect the results, such as personal preference, personal history, and environmental conditions. Although marketers might not consider such specific details of color psychology, there ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
