Management Practices And Functions Of Management
Management Practices
Management has played a crucial role in how organizations have operated for over a century. It has
been the foundation of organizations in the structuring of their companies and has determined their
level of success. Without management, organizations would struggle with defining a purpose for
themselves. They would lack in goals to achieve and overall improvement. Since the implementation
of management, theories of management have come and gone. New ideas have emerged and thoughts
have shifted as the world continues to grow and change. However, the concept of management and its
key elements have remained the same. These elements consist of what is known as the five functions
of management and include planning, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Air Force starts with a vision based on needs of the government and its country and from there
plans accordingly to meet these needs. At the squadron level, planning starts with a mission statement.
Our mission statement as a Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) Squadron is to conduct worldwide
operations as tasked by senior U.S government officials using special tactics and capabilities for
persistent, real time reconnaissance, target tracking and destruction. Furthermore, our strategic vision
statement for our organization s future is to continuously operate RPA s around the globe to collect
intelligence and destroy enemy targets in support of national strategy. Beyond our squadron s mission
and vision statement, we must break down planning into strategic, tactical, and operational planning.
This allows us guidelines to follow in order to pursue our vision. The implementation of squadron
standards addresses both operational and tactical guidelines and creates a baseline for us to follow in
our everyday work. The standards are published squadron wide and it is expected of us to not only
know them but also incorporate them in our missions. Having these standards allow for expedient
execution of mission tasks and strikes and any deviation from a standard must be briefed as non
standard . Contingency plans are also

English Feature Film The Help
English Feature Film Assignment
Joline Liao
The Help (2011) is a drama set in the 1960s in Mississippi, United States, which successfully positions
audiences using various film techniques to convey the message that prejudice is a destructive force
that corrupts society. Three specific scenes will be analysed and evaluated, focusing on aspects such as
mise en scene, cinematography and post production. Tate Taylor and Kathryn Stockett provide a
detailed insight into the harsh lives of people showing three major types of prejudice against black
people, gender and class. Skeeter wishes to become a professional writer and decides to write about
the lives of black people by interviewing the black maids Aibileen and Minny. The main form of
prejudice ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this scene a line of black maids are dressed in a monochrome uniform with solemn faces, this
signifies how insignificant they are in the white society. The black maids wore uniforms showing their
class status, symbolising where they belong in civilization while displaying they are on duty. Post
production used includes the voice over of Aibileen narrating her thoughts and what is happening. The
tone is dull and sad, emitting the perception that this period of time is daunting. The word daunting
contains negative connotations such as horrify and scare. A sharp d sound creates the impression of
words such as dangerous and deathly. A slight yellow tint in lighting emphasises the dim effect,
showing that the scene is darker than it seems, meaning that the maids are upset about their
predicament. However, they are obedient, in order to survive in white society, they must accept the
rules set out. Otherwise, they may face the consequences of losing their job which helps provide funds
for themselves and family, they would also risk not being able to find work anywhere else. This scene
shows the discrimination against black people and how downgraded they were classed, meaning that
their pay was limited. Therefore, with the combination of effective post production sound and
contrasting film techniques the producers effectively achieved their goal in displaying how
disrespected black people were seen in

Starbuck s Objective Reads Analysis
Starbuck s objective reads: In fiscal 2006, we plan to open approximately 1,800 net new stores
globally. This goal is not as specific as it could be. By using the word approximately, they are not
stating for sure that they will open 1,800 stores. Depending on your interpretation of approximately,
the goal could be 1,500 or 2,000. The goal is measurable since the company will have record of the
number of stores it opened in 2006. Whether or not it is attainable is dependent on many factor
including, but not limited to, financial resources, personnel resources, and available locations.
Assuming that all of these are readily available, Starbucks could reach their goal. Between 2000 and
2005, Starbucks increased the total number of stores from 3,501 to 10,241, an average of 1,348 stores
per year (Starbucks Company Statistics). Their goal of approximately 1,800 stores in 2006 is realistic.
Based on the prior years averages of new stores, setting a goal of one year to achieve the number of
stores listed is timely. The goal of Walgreens is Second is to hire a significant number of people with
disabilities in our South Carolina distribution center, scheduled to open in 2007, and achieve 20%
productivity gains there. This goal is not specific. Walgreens does not give a specific number of
people with disabilities that they aim to hire, just a generalization of a significant number. They also
have a goal of 20% productivity gains; however, this distribution center is just opening

Student Athletes Should Not Be Drug Tested Essay
Imagine a student who has always wanted to play football and finally gets the chance to. All he needs
to do is get drug tested. But he has serious medical issues and has to take different types of medicines
that are not allowed. The drug tests would show that he is taking drugs and never get to be on the
football team. Student athletes should not be drug tested because it violates the Fourth Amendment, it
is expensive, and it bans necessary medications.

to be tested twice to check for inaccuracy.
Finally, student athletes should not be drug tested because it bans necessary medications. Many
nutritional/dietary supplements contain NCAA banned substances. In addition, the U.S. Food and
Drug Administration (FDA) does not strictly regulate the supplement industry; therefore purity and

Identify And Evaluate Clearwater Technologies Existing...
1. Identify and evaluate Clearwater Technologies existing pricing on the QTX line. What are its
pricing objectives? With the introduction of the upgrade, should Clearwater reconsider its pricing
strategy?

According to table 1 and 2, because Clearwater is upgrading its products right now, they will design
the 30 seat server, so even the customer just want 10 seat or 20 seat, Clearwater will still ship them the
30 seat server with just 10 or 20 seats usable. So in this case, the actual cost of the server will all be

2. The Sales Manager Brian James:
New 30 seat unit 17,250
Original 10 seat unit 8,000
Price for 20 seat unit 9,250
And the final new 20 seat unit price will be 14,000
For this pricing option, he didn t increase the original prices of both 30 seat and 10 seat. Instead, he
simply calculated the 20 seat price by using the difference between 30 seats and 10 seats.
In the positive aspect, this pricing strategy is actually fair enough for the current customers, because
he didn t change anything to the current price. Obviously this strategy will help Clearwater to gain
more customers loyalty, and probably they will get more orders.
But on the other hand, after all the company was changing the product system because they want more
profits, the pricing strategy provided by Rob was clearly ran in the opposite direction. I think it s a
little be less aggressive for the product manager to actually decrease their prices. Fortunately the profit
margin for the QTX is good enough, so they can still make remarkable profit on it.
3. Hillary from Financial Department:
She suggested that they should be more aggressive and set the price at 15,000 or even 20,000 (I think
she means the price for 20 seat, I m a little bit confused here)

The Seven Aspects Of The Government In Ancient Egypt As A...
Ancient Egypt was a civilization because they have some of the seven indicators of civilization.
In Ancient Egypt there was government because the Pharaoh was the supreme leader over everybody
so, then he was the most powerful person in Egypt. Egypt was too big for one Pharaoh so he couldn t
run the government all by himself so then he had had a hierarchy of rulers and leaders, and they would
run different aspects of the government. The government had laws because of the common sense of
right and wrong so then the people that had broken the laws would be punished. If you didn t break the
laws than you wouldn t get punished because you hadn t broken the rules in the government. The laws
would apply to everyone no matter of the amount of power that person had. If the person had broken
the laws then normally the family would suffer too, the children would automatically be outlawed
with the person. The Pharaoh represented the gods on earth and performed rituals and helped build
temples.
In Ancient Egypt there was religion because the people had based their religion on the gods and
goddesses. They thought that they were being controlled by the gods and goddesses, and Upper and
Lower Egypt had their own religions. The Egyptians thought that the world was made of clay and was
all flat. The people had thought that the gods and goddesses were controlled by the Sun God, and they
also thought that the Pharaoh was a god or goddess as well as their ruler. The people had

Signs You re Balding and What You Can Do About It
N Signs You re Balding What You Can Do About It So there are some signs that you re balding but
you re not entirely sure. The signs range from finding lots of hair around your living area, noticing
that your scalp is more visible than usual, your hair seems to be growing slower, or a hairline that
seems to be receding faster than your hair is growing. Don t panic, hair loss can be resolved with a
few treatments, read on to find out more. Lots of Hair Falling All of us tend to lose 50 to 100 hairs a
day out of the 100,000 we have on our head. So it is common to find hair lying around your living
area, therefore you need not panic about it. However, if you re facing multiple signs of balding then
this is a crucial sign that you should change a few routines to ensure the hair fall is natural and not
aggravated. Ensure that you re not combing or brushing your hair too hard, the same goes to drying
your hair too roughly with a towel after a shower. Tugging or applying too much pressure to your hair
aggravates hair loss. Changing these simple lifestyle habits can change the rate of your hair falling out
and reduce the chances of balding or hair loss. Thinning Hair More Visible Scalp If you re starting to
notice that you have a more visible scalp, chances are that your hair is thinning and hair loss is
occurring. There are a few reasons to why this is happening that you can check and probably change.
Thinning hair sometimes occurs due to hormonal changes in your body. These

What Does Comfort Of God s People Mean
the people. Logically, as this passage is part of Comfort of God s People. The use of this line appears
as Dr. King s impartation of God s words to the crowd. In addition, this line provides words of
encouragement, imagining his dream as possible, and alike the themes of Comfort for God s People;
restoration and redemption, rights for African Americans will be restored, and redemption will take

Towards the end Dr. King shifts emphasis towards religious unity and freedom, appealing not only to

Development of the Industry
This presence cannot be ignored and has led to the development of the industry. With new regulations
being introduced, such as FoFA, threaten the same earnings as before but experts believe, from our
interviews, will bring in large volumes of business to the industry. The industry would soon need to
adjust to the newer conditions but is expected to develop around it given the opportunity the wealth
pool has to offer.
Further, the sophistication of the industry can be seen by the existence of over 200 Boutique
Investment firms who provide expertise to their niche investors. There is an expectation of
consolidation of these firms in view of the recent changes about slim margins but the market has seen
disruptive firms booming without any old heritage and running successfully. More than 23 of
Australian Investment firms are identified to be the World s Top 500 largest firms. The existence alone
highlights the growth potential of the industry and the future of the industry.
3. Literature Review
The future of the wealth management industry in Australia depends on the reasons that are leading to
the growth of the industry such as superannuation pool, regulatory changes, digitalization, etc. There
are also some challenges faced by the industry due to rising rates, higher contribution to
superannuation, etc which hold back the development and with respect to that, policy makers have
been making recommendations and suggestions which we look into to make a conclusion.

Recently electric cars have become very popular in the United States and around the world, but they

inventor Robert Anderson, but it wasn t until the late 1890s and early 1900s when electric cars really

electric cars represented one third of all cars in New York City, Boston, and Chicago. However, its

If you are Canadian you will understand that the years in which I lived in the province of Quebec were
filled with great turmoil; if you are American, you probably will not understand. At the center of this
turmoil was the question of language and, more specifically, culture French culture and what it means,
versus English culture and what it does not mean. Essentially, people were split up into groups:
English in one, French in another, and everyone else in one final lump.
Here s what I knew during my time of Canadian residence: To be French was to be lesser than. I was

also has placed sin taxes on places of business that host live nude shows and allow alcohol

Cultural Diversity And The American Culture
Culture Diversity Today our society is built of different cultures and races. Cultural Diversity is a
diverse group in society, with varying racial classifications and national origins, religion affiliations,
language, physical size, gender, sexual orientation, disability, socioeconomic status, and geographic
locations (Taylor, 2014, p.74). Nurses need to know the different types of cultures in our society in
order to provide adequate care to clients with a different cultural background. As nurses, we need to
understand that each client has different values and beliefs which are learned from families and
communities. These values and beliefs can influence client s health. For example, Muslim clients may
refuse prescriptions containing gelatin, pork products, or alcohol while Jewish clients may be
prohibited the use of the patient controlled analgesia pump because it might be considered work
during a Sabbath day (Arritt, 2014). These two cultures are different from the American culture in
many ways, but they all need a good health care regardless of their values and beliefs. In the first
place, many Muslims come to the United States to meet with their families, find better job
opportunities, life, education, and health care system. When we talk about the Muslim culture in the
nursing field as nurses we need to understand a known what are their values, beliefs, and traditions of
the medical care. Muslims prefer a same gender nurse or doctor for medical care, especially for

The Movement Towards Cloud Computing
The world, as a whole, is changing. It is true that some sections of the world are remaining primitive
in terms of industrialization, but the general population is a progressive one. There are incredible
advancements being made in the industries of transportation, communications, aerospace and defense,
as well as almost every industry related to the culture of society. As these advancements progress and
companies innovate, the demand for different products changes. For example, the demand for DVDs
today is no where near what it once was. In today s society, there is a huge demand for technology
based products. Due to this increased demand for technology, there has been an impressive amount of
innovation on how technology is both used and sold. The largest of these innovative movements has
been the movement towards cloud computing. In about as basic of a definition there is, The Cloud is
simply a way to store data online. Instead of saving something to a hard drive, it can be saved to The

in each individual story, but most conflicts are introduced during the rising action in the literary piece.

Irony In The Story Of A Good Little Boy
How would you feel if you tried you re hardest to be good but only had bad things happen to you? It
simply wouldn t seem fair. This was the case for Jacob Blivens whom, The Story of the Good Little
Boy was fictionally about. Try as he might nothing works out in the end for Jacob which is a lesson
we all could learn from. You can do your best to achieve something but it doesn t mean that in the end
it will work out how you want it to. Twain s opinion that Jacob lives his life for an unrealistic dream
comes out in his use of diction, characterization, and irony.
The story starts by explaining how Jacob has always tried his hardest to be a good little boy like in the
Sunday school books he reads. It gives you many instances of this but instead of the praise Jacob is
seeking, he always ends up in trouble, normally because the situation is misunderstood. In the end it
takes this to the extreme with Jacob trying to undo what some bad boys did and dies tragically,
without saying the last words he had prepared.
The setting is important because back in the days when this story was written, children s books were
more just Sunday school tales. These stories would talk about little boys who followed all Gods
commandments and were good all their lives. Unfortunately, these stories also tended to end with the
young boys dying. In the story it says that,

Advantages Of Brakes
CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
1.1 INTRODUCTION TO BRAKES
Brakes are mechanical devices that increase the frictional resistance that retards the turning motion
that is supplied to the wheels of the vehicle. In a vacuum assisted hydraulic brake system, a constant
vacuum is kept maintained in the brake booster using the engine. When the brake pedal is pushed
down, a poppet valve opens and air pushes/rushes into the pressure chamber on the driver s side of the
booster. In a vacuum braking system, vacuum is used for the application of brakes.
Braking the train is a very complex process, particularly to rail vehicles and is of great importance
because of essential contribution on the safety of the moving vehicle. This complexity comes into
picture from the fact, that during braking process various phenomena occurs, of ... Show more content

it should be same as in the brake pipe, during brake release but that the connection to the brake pipe is
closed during a brake application. It is important to close the connection as soon as the brake pipe
vacuum is reduced so that a difference in pressure is created between the upper and lower sides of the
brake cylinder piston.
1.4 ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF VACUUM BRAKES:
ADVANTAGES:
1. It provides partial release, which the air brake could not.
2. It consists of accelerator valves which help to speed up the operation on each vehicle.
3. It consists of two pipe system, in which one is brake pipe and the second was provided to give an
additional supply to speed up the brake release.
4. It consists of an equalizing reservoir which helps to set the brake to the right level.
5. Door operation , whistles, warning horns, etc. can be operated using the vacuum supply.
6. It is simple in design.
DISADVANTAGES:

Portrayal Of Women In Persepolis
Women in our society have been treated as a sideline, not included, and muted across our generations.
In the graphic novel Persepolis, Marjane Satrapi shows religion and authority to portray that women in
the text are marginalized, excluded, and silenced. This graphic novel takes place in Iran during the
Islamic Revolution, which influenced a lot of how women were treated. The women in Persepolis are
marginalized, excluded, and silenced by restricted communication, forbidden to wear what they want,
and not always having control of their actions. Persepolis demonstrates women being marginalized,
excluded, and silenced through restricted communication. In the chapter The Key , the girls are being

a day as mourning the dead of the war, Marji says, ...And we had to beat our chests in a voice over, as

Cultural Identity And Well Being
Assignment 2 Is there a relationship between cultural identity and well being? Introduction This paper
will weigh if there is a relationship between the psychological constructs of cultural identity and well
being. First there will be a consideration on what defines a cultural identity and how it fits in with
psychological development and well being. Followed by an explanation of different perspectives of
well being. BODY Cultural identity is a part of the psychological self concept that expresses an
individual or group s worldview and perceived cultural affiliations. The first step in finding a societal
fit is to establish a cultural identity; this can be on an individual level and group level. Who am I? And
where do I belong? These questions start to form in the human mind from an early age; it drives
humans to explore their worldviews and how and where they fit in the world. Rosenfeld (1971) argued
it is a deep seated primal process that has ensured our continual survival. By finding others that think
and act similarly we are offered some protection (Erickson, as cited in Carducci 2015). Erickson (as
cited in Carducci, 2015) and Maslow (as cited in Mcleod 2007) argued that the need to belong is a
basic building block of human development. Whatever the reason, the consensus is that humans have
an intrinsic need to find a like minded cultural group to belong to; this chosen affiliation is their
cultural identity. A person may identify with more than one cultural

The World Famous Pike place Fish Market
The World Famous Pike Place Fish Market John Yokoyama started working for Pike Place Fish in
Seattle, Washington, in 1960. At age 25, he used all his savings to purchase the unsuccessful business.
He spent the next 20 years running the Pike Place Fish Market, but he says in retrospect that he treated
his employees more like objects or collateral than human beings. He made a living, but his business
did not thrive. Finally, he realized his thoughts, feelings and attitudes were hindering his success.
This was the changing point. Yokoyama hired a consultant, Jim Bergquist, who helped him understand
how his thoughts, attitudes and actions limited his store s development and his employees potential.
Bergquist helped Yokoyama make powerful changes in his approach. They created a safe environment
for employees to express themselves openly and honestly, breaking down traditional communication
barriers and implementing peer coaching. Yokoyama and his staff began to envision how they could
make a real difference in the lives of other people through their business, far beyond anything they had
imagined. Because they wanted to have a world famous impact, they changed the shop s name to the
World Famous Pike Place Fish Market.

had to let go of his preconceived opinions about his employees, listen to their ideas and treat them
with respect, as individuals. He learned to look for the good in

nurses supply high standards of care to patients and clients. One code nurses adhere to is clause 6
which pronounces nurses must maintain professional knowledge and competence, have a
responsibility to deliver care based on current evidence, best practice and validated research (NMC,

Although the reference from 1967 is outdated it is reasonable the authors included it since it is the
only research paper found on their particular subject. However this causes the reader to speculate the
reason this subject was studied. Because the authors and the reader did not discover any other
literature concerned with the subject this, could indicate that the authors literature search was
comprehensive which could prove validity of the study. However it is wondered if other researches
believed case notes were irrelevant compared to other objects in the hospital or if this is ground
breaking research. Improvement could have been made by the authors including the search engines
they had used as this would allow replication and evaluation of the paper. The literature the authors

underlying theoretical framework and giving credibility to the paper. Cutlcliff Ward (2003) suggests
the literature review guides the researcher in discussing the results of the study in terms of agreement

The Pros And Cons Of Quantum Leap
According to Asbhy (1999), revitalizaton defined as the change that implements in Quantum Leap,
that is a big leap that is not only including gradation or incremental, but straight to the target which
much different from the initial condition. In this case, revitalization on the traditional market means to
reactivate the traditional market which once was vital, but experience degredation. It can be a slum
traditional market with low infrastructure to modern market, or displacement to a better location. The
reactivation should be in a big scale such as renovationg thoroughly to improve every aspect from the
market itself.
In revitalization, there are 3 stages:
1. Physical Intervention
This aspect is where phisycal aspect needs to be renovated because it is accordance to the public

5. Assumed a meeting would resolve all problems.
6. Assumed the customer would be happy with whatever product was developed and launched.
7. Assumed Kelly was being a smart ass because he questioned his knowledge about QC.
Pat argued that the scanner needed to be launched in retail, not banks or other easy markets. He also
argued with Chris, Kelly s manager, that Kelly informed him that it would not be a problem to expand
the iScanner. Another argument he made is he had bigger problems than to listen to than answering
other questions presented by other staff members. Pats decision to launch a new product in a new
market was sound. To be the first company on the market with a new product to get ahead of your
competitors is a good market strategy. His idea to use an outside contractor was unsound because we
are already in a budget deficit and there is now guarantee that the contractor would have the product
completed in time. His statement about having bigger problems than to answer questions from other
staff members was an emotional one. I think he felt nobody wanted to work with

Cultural Conflicts That Influenced His Moral Compass And...
In the story Bless Me, Ultima, Antonio faced several cultural conflicts that influenced his moral
compass and cultural identity. First, he faced a cultural conflict between his mother and father s
aspirations regarding his destiny. His mother wanted Antonio to pursue a future life as a priest, while
his father wanted Antonio to be a cowboy. Similarly, I grappled with the same battle as a child. My
mother wanted me to pursue medicine, while my father wanted me to become an engineer and follow
their footsteps. Just like Antonio had learned from Ultima, this was an element I had to decide for
myself. I found out from life experiences that my passion for science, the human body, and the desire
to prolong and save people s lives, ultimately made my decision to pursue medicine.
Another cultural conflict he faced was between his Spanish speaking self and his English speaking
schoolmates. Throughout his life, he had followed the Spanish culture of his family, who mainly spoke
Spanish in their home. His first day of school, he noticed that his English speaking schoolmates were
less accepting of his culture when he spoke Spanish in front of the class and unpacked his lunch filled
with Hispanic food, which differed from the sandwiches his schoolmates brought for lunch. I shared
the same prejudice as Antonio when I initially came to Los Angeles from the Philippines. My first day
as a third grader, I was humiliated by my schoolmates because I spoke little English with a

The factors, issues, and occurrences that are found in a company s industry and competitive
environment should be considered the strongest of the external threats. However, the factors and
forces in a company s macro environment having the biggest strategy shaping impact typically pertain
to the company s immediate industry and competitive environment the actions of rivals firms, buyer
behavior, supplier related conditions, and so on (Thompson, et al., 2010, p. 57). Environmental
scanning is very important to the health and success of a business. This is especially true of SRI .
Since SRI is dealing a lot with the foreclosure and REO markets, environmental scanning will be
needed to keep the company abreast of constant and volatile changes in this market. SRI will
constantly need to use this process to be able to keep up with changes in different variations in their
macro environment. Babatunde, amp; Adebisi states that: Environmental scanning is the process of
dealing with the measurement, projection and evaluation of changes in the different environment
variables (Oladele, 2006). Most of the organization[s] today are developing different types of
strategies that will sustain them in their business environment, and this can only be achieved through
the analysis of the environment.(Opportunity and Threats). Oladele (2006) stated some importance to

Social Anxiety And Emotional Intelligence Among Adults
Social Anxiety in Relation to Emotional Intelligence among adults
Several decades ago, researchers revealed new academic terms that is useful in studying human
behavior. Emotional intelligence and social anxiety concepts were developed from social contexts in
relation to psychology. The two concepts can be studied consecutively with a correlation created
between them. Emotional intelligence can be defined as the capability to manage and identify
individual emotions and those of other people (Bhochhibhoya Branscum, 2015). On the other hand,
Social anxiety is defined as the fear of interacting with people that creates a feeling of self
consciousness or being negatively judged (Blackhart, Williamson, Nelson, 2015). In other words, it

High social anxiety among adults is linked to poor self control or emotional intelligence especially
during interactions. Although the relationship between social anxiety and emotional intelligence has
been so far tested by few researchers, all of them have agreed on the correlation. Therefore, the current
study seeks clarify the correlation between social anxiety and emotional intelligence among adults.
Self control is very important among adults in the society but not everyone has its possession. It can
be termed as poor or good depending on the degree of self control. Social anxiety and emotional
intelligence can be tested in a conversation where the individuals engage each other in a natural
environment (Blackhart, Williamson, Nelson, 2015). It is important for adults to have self control
while engaging in social interactions.
Emotions are considered one of the most important sources of information as well as facilitate the
processing of information among adults. Many psychologies researchers have agreed on most roles of
emotions in their interpretations guided by intelligence in a social conversation. Furthermore, they
agree that emotions influence the thought system of an individual and that of other people as well as
guide their actions. In addition to that, social anxiety is a basic element of human behavior since it
involves the failures and successes related to emotional intelligence. The use of emotions cannot be
avoided especially in

The Similarities Between First And Second-Wave Feminism
Other than the obvious time differences between first and second wave feminism, the real contrasts are
found in what it was the women, and men in some cases, were fighting for. First Wave feminists
mainly fought for suffrage, while their Second Wave sisters fought for a wider range of women s
rights. First wave feminism was brought on by the newly educated female population. Women s
experiences under colonization taught them to see themselves as citizens of oppressed nations, and
many entered into Nationalist politics on behalf of their beleaguered people. (123) Women activists
took an approach of social housekeepers; it was their duty as nurtures of the nation to be involved in
education, social work, public health, poverty, and so on. (126) First Wave feminists were concerned
with gaining access to vote in elections and on other important matters, they were concerned with
gaining access to higher education; they were concerned with temperance, since they were not well

Women now were educated, voting, and even aiding their states during war times. In the U.S. many
activists were fighting for similar issues addressed by the predecessors, however they were able to

Second Wavers were pushing for Women s Studies classes and departments, and for prominent
historical women to be included in academia. Women in the U.S. were also beginning the enduring
battle of saving the environment. Second Wave feminists brought internal attention to the problems
caused by violence against women and by poor environmental practices.

Contract For The Contract Of Contract
A condition is a term that is so essential to the agreement that its violation is considered a substantial
breach of contract performance. A violation of a condition is said to go to the root of the contract. A
guarantee is a contract term that is not so essential. A guarantee must be made, but a violation of it is
not considered to go to the root of the contract. This sense of warranty should not be confused with
other uses of the word such as in one year maintenance warranty . Damage is the remedy for breach of

Where a seller delivers defective goods, two questions immediately arise: a) What is the precise legal
basis of his liability, b) What rights does the buyer have against him. Although these questions appear
quite simple, the answers to them are difficult enough. The rights and remedies of the buyer often
depend on the classification of the terms. The terms of a contract are the essence of a contract and
indicate what the contract will do. For instance, the price of a good, the time of its promised delivery
and the description of the good will all be terms of the contract. Before entering into a contract, a
series of statements are made by one party in order to encourage or induce the other party to enter into
contract. A dispute may later arise as to which of the statements made should be considered a part, or a
term, of the contract, and which should be taken as merely pre contract talk, and therefore, not a part
or term of the contract. Parties to a contract are bound only by its terms, not by any peripheral
statements that may have been made prior to or after entering into contract. A representation which is
subsequently made part of the contract ceases to be a representation and becomes something more,
viz., a promise that such a thing is or shall be. The question then arises whether this representation,
which has ceased to be a mere representation, and has become a term of the contract, is

Everyday Use Of Electrons In Atoms
Electrons in Atoms
Electrons are the negatively charged particles that can be found in the atom. Electrons will be located
around clouds that surround the nucleus of an atom. All Together the atom creates a negative charge
that will make sure that it balances the positive charge of the protons in the atomic nucleus. These
clouds are at a certain distance from the nucleus which is properly put into the shells. Due to the fact
that electrons move so quickly it is impossible to see where they are at certain point in time. The
overall shape of the shells change depending on how many electrons an element contains. The higher
the atomic number the more higher the shells plus an electron of an atom will have. The main in

The Mentality Of Baseball In Fences By August Wilson
August Wilson uses baseball ideology to construct the mindset of his protagonist, Troy Maxson, in
Fences ; however, Wilson also uses Troy to embody black America in the 50s. The metaphorical and
literal significance of baseball is the driving force Troy s subjectivity and ideology. Whether it be
comparing death to baseball pitch, warning his son to not strikeout, or complaining about being stuck
on first base, Troy uses baseball to explain life to those around him. Ironically, it is baseball that
actually leads to Troy s psychic castration. Although Troy was older when he was released from prison
and playing in the Negro leagues, racism held younger players from competing with white Americans
and there is no doubt that Troy saw this as what held him back as well. Unable to play in the major
leagues bitters Troy s attitude towards life and affects his relationship with his son, Cory, and wife,
Rose. While on a micro level, the rules and mechanics of baseball have a negative impact on Troy s
mentality, on a macro level Troy s loyalty to the game can be seen as an empowering force for black
America in the 50s. The idea of not striking out, and the fetish of the home run is meant to represent

Abstract In today s competitive world, apart from a few isolated cases (e.g. luxury goods), the selling

certain amount of money for the product. Hence cost is one of the most influential factors in the
outcome of a product or service. Hence over the past years different costing techniques are evolved
such as operation based approach, case based, break down approach, feature based costing, Activity
based costing, time driven activity based costing etc. These techniques are classified based on
techniques with similar features. They are mainly classified into qualitative techniques and
quantitative techniques. Qualitative cost estimation techniques are based on a comparison analysis of a
new product with the products that have been manufactured previously in order to identify the
similarities in the new one. Whereas the quantitative techniques are based on a detailed analysis of a
product design, its features, and corresponding manufacturing processes. Therefore quantitative
techniques are more preferred. Time driven activity based costing is a relatively new tool based on
quantitative technique.
This article provides a comprehensive literature review of Time Driven Activity Based Costing

  • 2. Management Practices And Functions Of Management Management Practices Management has played a crucial role in how organizations have operated for over a century. It has been the foundation of organizations in the structuring of their companies and has determined their level of success. Without management, organizations would struggle with defining a purpose for themselves. They would lack in goals to achieve and overall improvement. Since the implementation of management, theories of management have come and gone. New ideas have emerged and thoughts have shifted as the world continues to grow and change. However, the concept of management and its key elements have remained the same. These elements consist of what is known as the five functions of management and include planning, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Air Force starts with a vision based on needs of the government and its country and from there plans accordingly to meet these needs. At the squadron level, planning starts with a mission statement. Our mission statement as a Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) Squadron is to conduct worldwide operations as tasked by senior U.S government officials using special tactics and capabilities for persistent, real time reconnaissance, target tracking and destruction. Furthermore, our strategic vision statement for our organization s future is to continuously operate RPA s around the globe to collect intelligence and destroy enemy targets in support of national strategy. Beyond our squadron s mission and vision statement, we must break down planning into strategic, tactical, and operational planning. This allows us guidelines to follow in order to pursue our vision. The implementation of squadron standards addresses both operational and tactical guidelines and creates a baseline for us to follow in our everyday work. The standards are published squadron wide and it is expected of us to not only know them but also incorporate them in our missions. Having these standards allow for expedient execution of mission tasks and strikes and any deviation from a standard must be briefed as non standard . Contingency plans are also ... • 3. English Feature Film The Help English Feature Film Assignment Joline Liao The Help (2011) is a drama set in the 1960s in Mississippi, United States, which successfully positions audiences using various film techniques to convey the message that prejudice is a destructive force that corrupts society. Three specific scenes will be analysed and evaluated, focusing on aspects such as mise en scene, cinematography and post production. Tate Taylor and Kathryn Stockett provide a detailed insight into the harsh lives of people showing three major types of prejudice against black people, gender and class. Skeeter wishes to become a professional writer and decides to write about the lives of black people by interviewing the black maids Aibileen and Minny. The main form of prejudice ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this scene a line of black maids are dressed in a monochrome uniform with solemn faces, this signifies how insignificant they are in the white society. The black maids wore uniforms showing their class status, symbolising where they belong in civilization while displaying they are on duty. Post production used includes the voice over of Aibileen narrating her thoughts and what is happening. The tone is dull and sad, emitting the perception that this period of time is daunting. The word daunting contains negative connotations such as horrify and scare. A sharp d sound creates the impression of words such as dangerous and deathly. A slight yellow tint in lighting emphasises the dim effect, showing that the scene is darker than it seems, meaning that the maids are upset about their predicament. However, they are obedient, in order to survive in white society, they must accept the rules set out. Otherwise, they may face the consequences of losing their job which helps provide funds for themselves and family, they would also risk not being able to find work anywhere else. This scene shows the discrimination against black people and how downgraded they were classed, meaning that their pay was limited. Therefore, with the combination of effective post production sound and contrasting film techniques the producers effectively achieved their goal in displaying how disrespected black people were seen in ... • 4. Starbuck s Objective Reads Analysis Starbuck s objective reads: In fiscal 2006, we plan to open approximately 1,800 net new stores globally. This goal is not as specific as it could be. By using the word approximately, they are not stating for sure that they will open 1,800 stores. Depending on your interpretation of approximately, the goal could be 1,500 or 2,000. The goal is measurable since the company will have record of the number of stores it opened in 2006. Whether or not it is attainable is dependent on many factor including, but not limited to, financial resources, personnel resources, and available locations. Assuming that all of these are readily available, Starbucks could reach their goal. Between 2000 and 2005, Starbucks increased the total number of stores from 3,501 to 10,241, an average of 1,348 stores per year (Starbucks Company Statistics). Their goal of approximately 1,800 stores in 2006 is realistic. Based on the prior years averages of new stores, setting a goal of one year to achieve the number of stores listed is timely. Introduction This paper will weigh if there is a relationship between the psychological constructs of cultural identity and well being. First there will be a consideration on what defines a cultural identity and how it fits in with psychological development and well being. Followed by an explanation of different perspectives of well being. BODY Cultural identity is a part of the psychological self concept that expresses an individual or group s worldview and perceived cultural affiliations. The first step in finding a societal fit is to establish a cultural identity; this can be on an individual level and group level. Who am I? And where do I belong? These questions start to form in the human mind from an early age; it drives humans to explore their worldviews and how and where they fit in the world. He also argued with Chris, Kelly s manager, that Kelly informed him that it would not be a problem to expand the iScanner. Another argument he made is he had bigger problems than to listen to than answering other questions presented by other staff members. Pats decision to launch a new product in a new market was sound. To be the first company on the market with a new product to get ahead of your competitors is a good market strategy. His idea to use an outside contractor was unsound because we are already in a budget deficit and there is now guarantee that the contractor would have the product completed in time. First, he faced a cultural conflict between his mother and father s aspirations regarding his destiny. His mother wanted Antonio to pursue a future life as a priest, while his father wanted Antonio to be a cowboy. Similarly, I grappled with the same battle as a child. My mother wanted me to pursue medicine, while my father wanted me to become an engineer and follow their footsteps. Just like Antonio had learned from Ultima, this was an element I had to decide for myself. I found out from life experiences that my passion for science, the human body, and the desire to prolong and save people s lives, ultimately made my decision to pursue medicine. Another cultural conflict he faced was between his Spanish speaking self and his English speaking schoolmates. Throughout his life, he had followed the Spanish culture of his family, who mainly spoke Spanish in their home. His first day of school, he noticed that his English speaking schoolmates were less accepting of his culture when he spoke Spanish in front of the class and unpacked his lunch filled with Hispanic food, which differed from the sandwiches his schoolmates brought for lunch. Where a seller delivers defective goods, two questions immediately arise: a) What is the precise legal basis of his liability, b) What rights does the buyer have against him. Although these questions appear quite simple, the answers to them are difficult enough. The rights and remedies of the buyer often depend on the classification of the terms. The terms of a contract are the essence of a contract and indicate what the contract will do. For instance, the price of a good, the time of its promised delivery and the description of the good will all be terms of the contract. Before entering into a contract, a series of statements are made by one party in order to encourage or induce the other party to enter into contract. A dispute may later arise as to which of the statements made should be considered a part, or a term, of the contract, and which should be taken as merely pre contract talk, and therefore, not a part or term of the contract. Parties to a contract are bound only by its terms, not by any peripheral statements that may have been made prior to or after entering into contract. Electrons will be located around clouds that surround the nucleus of an atom. All Together the atom creates a negative charge that will make sure that it balances the positive charge of the protons in the atomic nucleus. These clouds are at a certain distance from the nucleus which is properly put into the shells. • 42. The Mentality Of Baseball In Fences By August Wilson August Wilson uses baseball ideology to construct the mindset of his protagonist, Troy Maxson, in Fences ; however, Wilson also uses Troy to embody black America in the 50s. The metaphorical and literal significance of baseball is the driving force Troy s subjectivity and ideology. Whether it be comparing death to baseball pitch, warning his son to not strikeout, or complaining about being stuck on first base, Troy uses baseball to explain life to those around him. Ironically, it is baseball that actually leads to Troy s psychic castration. Although Troy was older when he was released from prison and playing in the Negro leagues, racism held younger players from competing with white Americans and there is no doubt that Troy saw this as what held him back as well. Unable to play in the major leagues bitters Troy s attitude towards life and affects his relationship with his son, Cory, and wife, Rose. While on a micro level, the rules and mechanics of baseball have a negative impact on Troy s mentality, on a macro level Troy s loyalty to the game can be seen as an empowering force for black America in the 50s. The idea of not striking out, and the fetish of the home run is meant to represent the black community s resistance against society s racism during this time. Abstract In today s competitive world, apart from a few isolated cases (e.g. luxury goods), the selling price of a product is predefined by the market because customers are not willing to pay more than a certain amount of money for the product. Hence cost is one of the most influential factors in the outcome of a product or service. Hence over the past years different costing techniques are evolved such as operation based approach, case based, break down approach, feature based costing, Activity based costing, time driven activity based costing etc. These techniques are classified based on techniques with similar features. They are mainly classified into qualitative techniques and quantitative techniques. Qualitative cost estimation techniques are based on a comparison analysis of a new product with the products that have been manufactured previously in order to identify the similarities in the new one. Whereas the quantitative techniques are based on a detailed analysis of a product design, its features, and corresponding manufacturing processes. Therefore quantitative techniques are more preferred. Time driven activity based costing is a relatively new tool based on quantitative technique.
