The Lasting Influences of the Classical World on Other...
The Lasting Influences of the Classical World on Other Cultures across Time Drama and dramatic
performances have consistently been present throughout human society, both as a medium for
entertainment as well as a forum for education and critique. Aristophanes, the father of modern drama
, was the first to really successfully amalgamate these two ideas together within his dramatic pieces, as
can be seen in his works Wasps and Frogs. Shakespeare was the next great dramatist, and arguably the
great dramatist, and he has evolved Aristophanes ideas and methods and developed them to greater
extent. These can be seen in works such as A Midsummer Night s Dream, King Lear and Hamlet, but
are present in the large majority of his works. And with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Here the First Dog, representative of Cleon, is accusing Laches not of having siciliating (embezzling)
cheese (money) but of not having given the first dog his fair share. How can anyone claim to be
serving your interests if I, the Dog, am not given my fair share? says the first dog. Aristophanes uses
the character of the dog to highlight the corruption of Cleon and how he has his fingers in all of the
proverbial pies. He also uses the parabasis to criticise the jurymen of Athens, comparing the jurymen
to wasps and highlighting to the Athenians how the jurymen are prone to harsh sentencing and unjust
treatment of the accused: if you haven t got a sting, you get no jury fee. The entire play is
Aristophanes comments on the corruption of the jurymen, and their exploitation by the demagogue
Cleon. Philocleon personifies the self interested, corrupt jurymen, who are taking incentives from
Cleon (an increased pay) to judge harshly and sentence even more so. Cleon was using these trials to
gain public appraisal as a seeker of justice, of course at the expense of the accused, which had been
treated with an injustice by the jurymen eager to get their pay. Thus Aristophanes is enlightening the
audience about the nature of their jury system, and is appealing to them to fix it. Likewise,
Shakespeare addresses the issue of corruption within his play Hamlet. While not drawn from a real life
example (at least, not one that is known), he uses the character of Claudius to

Autism Spectrum Disorder
Statistical evidences. ASD s gender proportion suggests that the autism is sex linked, and the statistical
evidence convincingly shows that genetic factors are playing key role in the prevalence of ASD. To
begin with, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC) published the relationship between the number of autistic boys and girls. The
statistical evidence shows that boys are more inclined to become autistic than girls. CDC states that 1
in 42 boys and 1 in 189 girls were identified as having ASD. This observation shows that ASD is
likely a sex linked inheritance. Sex liked inheritance is defined as a pattern of inheritance
characteristic of genes located on the sex chromosomes of organisms having a chromosomal
mechanism for sex determination (Sadava et al., 2014). If the ASD was sex linked inheritance, the
ratio between male and female exhibiting the phenotype would result in 3 to 1 under the normal curve.
The ratio between boy and girl is approximately 5 to 1, which shows that there is a strong association
between sex linked inheritance and ASD. For this reason, it is reasonable to conclude that ASD is
primarily influenced by the genetic factor, which is prenatal. On the other hand, some behavioral
psychiatrists would argue that the conclusion is inaccurately determined, since the genetic mutation
would not occur within a decade. As indicated in Appendix C: Table 1, the rate at which the number of
ASD children increase

Temporary Work Growth In Canada
Ever since Canada suffered a recession (temporary economic decline due to the reduced industrial and
trade activity), temporary employment in Canada has grown more rapidly and people are finding it
hard to find permanent jobs. Temporary work growth has grown three times faster than permanent
employment between 2009 and 2012, and most of the temporary work growth has occurred within the
young people. Positively, being in temporary work can lead to permanent work and can make one
more flexible, which mostly benefits the young people in the workforce. However, this is a huge issue
for older people in the workforce because those in temporary work get paid forty six percent less than
people in permanent employment, and rarely get job benefits such ... Show more content on

there would not be as many people in the workforce as there are people from the high birth rates long

people in the workforce. On the bright side though, I love what the future looks like for job searching

and only one is needed for the dry berries. This leaves two available to process wet berries, which at
the rate of 1,050 bbls./hr. only need one as well.
We assume that one dryer can only process either bulk or bagged berries and not both at the same
time. That is, one dryer can process 150 bbls./hr. of bagged berries or 200 bbls./hr. of bulk berries.
With three drying units this gives an output rate of 150, 200, 300, 400, 450, or 600 bbls./hr. If we use
the figures from Table B in the case we can find that 81.7% of the berries are bulk and the remaining
18.3% berries are to be bagged. At the 1,050 bbls./hr. rate for 12 hours (12,600 bbls. total) this
corresponds to 10,294.2 bbls. bulk and 2,305.8 bbls. bagged. We also know that the bagged berries
can be picked up at any time during 24 hours and it is thus advantageous to process bulk berries first
during the day and then process bagged berries after hours. We also assume that berries prepared for
baggin may also be used for bulk. Using the aforementioned assumptions, we can see that with three
dryers we can process the bulk berries at a rate of 600 bbls./hr. and then switch to processing bagged
berries at a rate of 450 bbls./hr.
Using these rates we can find out how long trucks have to wait before they can empty their contents
into a dumpster. When analyzing the waiting time of the trucks we assume 12 hours of continuous
arrival and the dumpsters may be loaded at

Why Are Professional Athletes Too High
NFL Earnings to High The NFL has a labor union that has a percentage on how much the athletes get
paid which is 51% and the other 49% goes to the merchandise, stadiums, equipment and etc..
Professional athletes that get paid in the NFL usually make hundreds of millions by the time they are
done playing which I believe is too high. If they were to only play 1 2 years they would still have
enough for a nonprofessional athlete to live off of for most or their whole lifetime and most athletes
play for an average of 4 years. So, that s some of the examples that I think why professional athletes
get paid too much.

Since 1997, us taxpayers have gave the league $4.7 billion to add to their Union and towards their
stadiums they were making. If us taxpayers keep giving more and more money to the NFL soon some
people are gonna become broke or start to and file a lawsuit. The U.S nationals debt is around $21
trillion and the National Football League s revenue is $8 billion which is a ton when some could be
used to pay off our debt or used to improve our non professional workers life/jobs/cars/houses and etc.
CONCLUSION
The NFL should not earn as much money as they do. The National Football League s revenue is $13
billion and 51% goes to the players .
If this continues to keep happening and they keep expanding they are going to be earning too much of
our taxpayers money and us taxpayers will eventually get upset soon. The NFL earns $7 billion from
us taxpayers as it is for their stadiums; Also $7 billion is almost their whole revenue. They should not

Essay On Life Insurance
INSURANCE BUSINESS PRE NATIONALISATION
2.1.1 The Concept of Insurance The entire modern world process has to face numerous risks and
uncertainties. Thus in business, as in private life, there are dangers and risks of every kind. The
concept of risk may be explained as the possibility of unfavourable results following from any
occurrence. In a dynamic and free economy and life such risks are inevitable. The risk may mean that
there is a possibility of loss or damage. It may or may not happen. When an event is stated to be
possible, it has a possibility between zero and one, it is neither impossible not definite. The degree of
risk may or may not be measurable. To the ordinary man in the street „risk‟ means exposure to danger.
But at the same time in insurance practice risk is also used for peril or loss producing events. For
example, it is said that insurance covers the risks of fire, explosion, cyclone, flood etc. Here the risks
refer to the subject matter of insurance. Any risk contingent upon these may be insured against a
premium commensurate with the risk involved. Thus a collective bearing of risk is insurance.
Insurance, whether life or non life, provides people with reasonable degree of security and assurance
that they will be protected in the event of a calamity or failure of any sort.
According to Life Insurance Corporation of India, risk may be defined as, Risk is a condition where
there is a possibility of an adverse deviation from a desired outcome

The Effect Of Unconventional Gas Expansion On Energy Economy
Section 8 9
8. Effect of Unconventional Gas Expansion on Energy Economy
8.1 Methodology
The expansion of the unconventional gas production exhibits a number of uncertainties with regards to
the natural gas overall supply balance which in turn has a great impact on the energy economy in
general. In order to understand this effect, one must start to look in to the
1. Difference in trading between the main sources of energy: oil and Natural gas and how this
expansion is going to affect these methods of trading either negatively or positively.
2. The cost of production from unconventional gas resources and the future expected changes due to
development in technology. Adding to that the expected amount of production in the future.

Asia uses crude oil as a benchmark for natural gas prices and favours long term contracts. Japan and
Korea almost totally dependent on imported LNG. This dependence places a high premium on
security of supply and has kept prices in Asia high relative to other regions (Suárez, 2012).
Despite the two different trading methods between gas and oil, historically it has been noticed that the
trend in energy cost of both is following the same trend ignoring the price difference based on trading
model between the three pre mentioned trading methods for Natural gas.
The fast recent development of production from unconventional gas resources mainly shale gas in
North America (United States and Canada) has interrupted this relationship.
Early in 21st century, North America was forecasted to require around 60 billion cubic feet/ year of
gas and since the resources at that time do not include the unconventional gas resources, this supply
was forecasted to be delivered from other countries including Qatar, Angola and Nigeria. A number of
export terminals were built on those countries. In addition, around 50 import terminals were planned
to be constructed in North America including Mexico, United States and Canada.

Motown Records Influence On Society Essay

Motown Records Influence on society Through the creation of Motown records Berry Gordy changed
the barrier between white and black americans and their music. Before Gordy come along to change
the standards of american culture whites and blacks had different labels and music. Motown Records
is the first record label to successfully market black artists to the white mainstream audience. (Dahl 12
15) Berry Gordy was the first African American to own a music label and have artists of different
races on the same label. In the 1960s racial tension was a problem because of segregation and equal
rights, For the most part, black artists were forced to record on white owned labels that regarded their
work as novelties, one offs and curiosities. (Ross). When Gordy opened the record label it started to
break down the tension between races. The reason the label opening broken down tention was because
Gordy didn t care about the color of their skin or where they come from. Berry Gordy founded
Motown records in 1959. Before that Gordy grew up in Detroit Michigan and was the seventh of eight
children. He was not the first businessperson in the family; his father as a plastering contractor, his
mother as an insurance agent.when Gordy was young he was interested in music, and his song Berry s

Evaluation Of The Block C Placement
Block C placement was organised for me to do training at respiratory ward, general surgery ward,
renal unit, oncology ward and primary care. In respiratory ward, I did ward rounds, some care plans
for pneumonia patients and I had a tour on devices used for asthma and COPD. Whereas in other
wards I did medicine reconciliation, attended ward rounds as well as did patient counselling. In this
report, I would like to reflect on community pharmacy services, care homes and other primary care
units.
I felt different in this block of placement in many ways. That was because I had a plan for it as I knew
my needed gaps (prioritizing care issues) to be strengthened so I could focus. Another reason made me
impressed is that, most of the tutorials done were related to the placement I do, this could aid me to
underpin the information given in a tutorial to a practical scene. For instance, we had an antibiotic s
tutorial which helped me relate it in respiratory ward and general surgery for cases needed antibiotics.
Furthermore, I was lucky to have a new experience in my life which is primary care services for it is
totally different from our primary care back home. Some of the places in this block were well
organized, I liked it since they prepared a timetable of what we are going to do every day. On the other
hand, some areas couldn t achieve the objectives agreed for sick leaves reasons mainly and shortage of
staffs sometimes. I like the idea of entry interview and excite

Essay On The Color Purple
The Color Purple written by Alice Walker is based on a society that is rather segregated when it comes
to their differences. Due to this segregation, the perspective of one group viewing another may be
rather skewed, causing them to be stereotyped into certain social structures. The novel is written in
first person point of view, meaning that the reader gets one particular character s version of the story.
Due to this, the reader is introduced to the story through a perspective that does not fully understand
different social groups aside from her own in society as well as different societies as a mass. One of
the most prominent examples of social groups being represented in a certain way relates to the roles of
women in society. Throughout ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This includes the stereotypical white women in church that believe they are better than those around
them and are judgemental of those who aren t like them. However, there are also characters such as
Shug and Celie that believe in a different type of god. While the white women most likely believe in
god, the man, Shug and Celie end up believing in god, the force. Christians are typically portrayed as
individuals similar to the white women, however the novel tends to break that barrier when Shug
explains her beliefs to Celie through the quote Here s the thing, say Shug. The thing I believe. God is
inside you and inside everybody else. You come into the world with God. But only them that search

that she s not constantly being watched over by a man s presence. This, blatant contrast is meant to
convey the message that Christian beliefs are not the same for everyone, and believing in god does not

Censorship In Harry Potter
According to Ray Bradbury, There is more than one way to burn a book. And the world is full of
people running about with lit matches. Censorship is a controversial topic that continues to gain
attention. As various books are released, opponents that feel offended in some form begin to try and
remove a book from the shelf. If the argument is lucrative enough, that book just might be removed
from the shelf. As that book is removed, all the sudden other books become offensive and they too
may leave the shelf. What happens when all the offensive books are gone? Will there be books left on

In my mind it is no different than so many other fantasy stories I have read. I can honestly say I had
not read Harry Potter until this assignment, if for no other reason than it just didn t interest me. Did I

those that worry their children will want to learn more about witchcraft after reading the book should
be more concerned with prepping their child. My daughter is not old enough yet to read the book,
however, when she is we will have an open honest conversation. I would hope that the ideals and
beliefs that my husband and I have instilled in my child are far stronger than the power of a book. Yes,
books are powerful, but more powerful than parents? When I took something away from my daughter

them to identify between reality and fantasy. Maybe that is why some parents so strongly oppose
Harry Potter. They are concerned they have not given their children the faith system that can sustain

As a result of the of digital technology in modern society, digital literacy practices that adolescents

Web 2.0 technologies have enabled individuals around the world to interact and communicate with

Empirical studies have found both a positive correlation between texting and literacy as well as
negative results. The mixed results and conflicting findings suggest that literary scores may correlate
with literacy on a continuum depending on the frequency of texting, the use of text speak or so called
textisms, and knowledge of text speak and textisms. Moreover, the correlation may also be impacted
on whether the student is engaging in formal or informal writing. The conflicting results conjure up
various questions regarding how the correlation is quantified, which may account for discrepancies in
the results. Analysis of the established correlation cannot assertively establish causality, which
suggests that further research is necessary to adequately qualify and quantify if disparate literacy
levels are amplified and/or governed by text messaging, or lack thereof. The emergence and escalation
of text messaging as a key mechanism in the socialization process has led to a paradigm shift in
pedagogy, as teachers and professors must learn how to effectively appropriate important academic
material through literacy practices within digital environments and contexts and approaches to the
learning process. Moreover, examining the impact of text messaging friends in

Why Is Mary Tudor Powerful
During Mary Tudor s reign England was in terror because she was ruthless in her power. She was one
of the most powerful and scary women in English history in my opinion. All for one main reason, She
was not afraid of to do what she wanted to do. When she wanted something done it was done or the
person she told to do so would more than likely get their life taken. Mary Tudor was born on the 18th
of February in 1516. In Place of Placentia in Greenwich England. She was the third child of Henry
VIII and Catherine of Aragon. Greenwich is just five miles out of London. King Henry VIII created
the Church of England in 1536 as a result of a dispute with the pope, who would not permit Henry to

Corporate Strategy Of Walt Disney Company
Walt Disney s massive company, which embodies theme parks, resorts, movies, and television, slowly
sprouted from less than birth of Mickey Mouse. The Walt Disney began its franchise reign of the
entertainment industry in 1928 with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse made its debut in select short
films, the most notable being Steamboat Willie (Gamble 2014). Since then, even decades after Walt
Disney s actual death in 1966, Mickey Mouse has been the central icon around the world for this
organization dedicated to bringing fantasy into the realm of reality. The Disney Company has been
able to successfully incorporate the famous mousey emblem into to the ever changing culture as a
universal sign of quality entertainment for children and adults alike. Additionally, multiple product
lines that have spun off of Mickey s reputation combined with a transnational strategy have facilitated
the organization to swell from a small animation studio to one of the most widely recognized and
highly acclaimed trademarks worldwide.
The differentiation of Disney s product lines has been a key component to the company s surmounting
accomplishments. Hotels, resorts, cruise lines, theme parks, and the beloved live action and animation
films with their respective characters are the fundamental attractions for the organization. Other lines
comprise of music, television broadcasting and production, live theatrical productions, children s

The And The Levi Jordan Plantation
Blacksmithing and the Levi Jordan Plantation
Introduction
Have you ever wondered about the mysteries of Texas plantations? Well, this paper will hope to solve
some of those incredible mysteries. Blacksmithing is a cool job that keeps the culture of the medieval
castles and knights possible. It is a great way to understand how life was in the past. Some other things
this paper will go over are artifacts found on the plantation, differences from past life to today, things
about blacksmiths, and how things were made.
Backstory
First of all, some backstory about the plantation this paper is about is that Levi Jordan was born in
Georgia and inherited land in Brazoria the Levi Jordan Plantation. The Levi Jordan Plantation was
built by Levi ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the decades went on the blacksmiths began to do more tool and vehicle repair and spent less of
their time making items. Their tools can be divided into three categories, the flames, the anvil and
sledge/hammer, and the some other equipment. Under the first group was the bellows, the shovels, the
rake and pretty much anything else used to move the coals, and the water trough. Under the second
group was the tongs, cutters and chisels, as well as hammers and anvils. In the third group was the
shoeing box (which contains knives, rasps, and files) to make horses feet and horse shoes. They made
items by first softening the metal over a flame. They then used a bellows to get the flame as hot as
necessary. There are three levels of heat, snowball heat, full welding heat, and light welding heat. The
hottest is snowball heat, which refers to white heat; is used to weld. Then there is full welding heat,
not quite as hot as snowball, employed to weld mild steel. The last is low or light welding heat, rarely
used because of how difficult it is. Then when it is hot enough the blacksmith hits it with a hammer to
shape it. A blacksmith is trained as an apprentice by a more experienced blacksmith because there was
no trade school. Some things that blacksmith s construct are ploughshares, sickles, scythes, metal parts
for wagons and carriages, wheel rims, tools, axe heads, hammers, shovels, hoes, pitchforks, nails,

Midterm Assignment Photo Essay Waterdown is a small community which has been a part of the
greater community of Hamilton, Ontario since the year 2001. The village of Waterdown is home to
approximately 19,500 people and its population is continuously growing. Waterdown can be described
as an up and coming area. In the last few years the town has seen numerous residential and
commercial areas pop up in what seems like a matter of days; the community is rapidly changing. As
an individual who has lived in Waterdown my whole life, all this change can be a bit overwhelming

of place in regards to my neighbourhood. Fouberg et al (2015), suggests that we need look beyond
physical characteristics and consider how particular places makes us feel and the meanings we hold
for those places. To this day, all of my major life events have occurred in Waterdown, many in this

found myself becoming homesick during my first year at university because I was not emotionally

Grizzly Man Documentary Analysis
Grizzly Man is a more than a documentary than a film. It recorded the real life of Timothy Treadwell
who lived among wild bears in Alaska without any acting. What touched me most is his unselfish love
to wild animals. Not only to bears but also to other animals. These animals became the most important
part in his life. He smiled because of bears. He cried because of bears. He spent 13 years to live with
bears without any measures to protect himself. They are bears. That can kill and tear him into pieces!
He said to his friends if he dead someday, that is the way he wanted. However, he still choose to love
them, protect them and fight for them. He loved bears with his life and he and his girlfriend died
because of those bears in the end.

M. Rivlin s Efforts Establishing The Congressional Budget...
This paper will discuss Alice M. Rivlin s efforts establishing the Congressional Budget Office (CBO).
It will detail the major players, including Rivlin and explain what CBO s sources of power. This paper
will also discuss what stance Rivlin should take regarding political patronage and how she should
manage the situation. Finally, this paper will address which organizational structure she should adopt
for CBO using the framework of five determinants of organizational structure.
The Congressional Budget Act of 1974 established the Congressional Budget Office and on April 24,
1974 sworn in its first director, Alice M. Rivlin. CBO was established to make Congress a major
player in the budget process. Originally Congress was pressed to ... Show more content on

Some major power players in Rivlin s appointment and confirmation on the House side were
Chairman Al Ullman and then Rep. Brock Adams. On the Senate side, Chairman of the Senate Budget
Committee, who recommended Rivlin, Edmund Muskie was a major influence in her appointment.
One of the first things Rivlin did was bringing on Robert Reischauer, a fellow economist from the
Brookings Institute, as her right hand man at CBO. She also reviewed the Budget Act, which specified
what CBO was charged, which was relatively short. Therefore CBO had considerable freedom under
the legislation since both the Senate and House had no clue what they wanted from their new budget
shop. This provided Rivlin an enormous opportunity to look at other models of how to structure CBO.
She could model CBO after other sister agencies like the General Accounting Office (GAO),
Congressional Research Service (CRS), the former Office of Technology Assessment (OTA), Office of
Management and Budget (OMB), or the Joint Committee on Internal Revenue Taxation Staff. Some
suggestions were to organize CBO along functional lines with policy areas like defense or human
resources in separate divisions each containing a numbers and analysis subdivision. Another
suggestion was to spread the numbers function all around to enable program divisions with a focus on
customer relations. But Rivlin also had to be aware of political patronage. Both Congressmen and

Minor Prophet Amos Essay
Amos, as one of the Twelve Minor Prophets, evokes imagery of a fiery orator whose central theme is
the pursuit of justice and righteousness which possesses significance in both ancient times and today.
Amos elevates the concept of justice though human actions to a primacy in the lives of believers who
established a covenant with God since the time of Abraham. We shall exegetically explore Amos 5:18
24.
He is not a radical, rather Amos prophecies are in the tradition of the oracular style imitative of many
prophets including Moses. The prophetic ministry of Amos in the Northern kingdom is set against the
background of the end of the prosperous reign of Israel s Jeroboam II (793 753 B.C.). As Shalom Paul

(Amos 2:4 5). These seven oracles serve as one grand prolegomenon to his final surmise indictment
against Israel. The same judgment is made of each nation, because they revolted against divine rule.
The Hebrew root pš is used of rebellion against authority of nations. The rebellion is against the rule
of Yahweh (Psalm 2:1 3). Accumulated transgressions lead to an irrevocable decision to destroy each
of the nations. The repetitions establish that they all have equal standing before God; equally guilty,
and they will suffer equivalent fates. The most detailed and devastating

The Symbolic Significance of Methuselah as It Reflects the...
Methuselah is a parrot character in The Poisonwood Bible written by Barbara Kingsolver. The novel is
set in the late 20th century in a village of The Congo call Kilanga. Methuselah is a parrot who is left
by brother Fowls for the Price family. He has been denied freedom for very long and has been kept in
a cage. Later when Nathan Price sets him free, he has no idea what to do with his independence. So he
keeps flying near the Price house and depends on the Price girls for food. When Congo s
independence is announced, Methuselah gets killed and eaten by a cat. The imprisonment and freedom
of Methuselah can symbolize the current and the future conditions of the Price family as well as the

The Belgians had colonized The Congo for its natural resources like many other western powers at the
time that aimed for no more than have dominion on every creature that moved upon this earth (10) as
it is confessed by Orleanna at the beginning of the novel. In a very similar way, Methuselah was kept
in a cage by the humans against its will only because it was a weaker creature. Just like The Congo,
Methuselah is not allowed the freedom of speech as every time he says something, Nathan Price gets
mad and inquires which one of [the daughters] taught [it] to say that word (76). In a similar way, The
Congo is denied the freedom of speech and is not considered as a sovereign state. The effects of the
colonization of The Congo can still be seen as the country could not cope up with it even after half a
century. The country remains poor and divided as it is not used to work on its own and enjoy the
freedom of living. The same happens with Methuselah after Nathan tells him that (he is) free to go
(94) and grants him freedom. Methuselah had forgotten what freedom feels like and it goes and then it
comes back because its wings aren t any count (133). Because of this Methuselah cannot survive on its
own and later he gets killed and eaten by a cat. Comparing Methuselah with hope Adah declares that
she had found hope fallen already (185) and she adds that a piece of it [was there] beside their latrine,

The Works Of The Renaissance Period
The artist I chose to write my descriptive criticism about is Michelangelo Buonarroti. I chose him
because his style as an artist intrigues me and I wanted to get myself involved with more of his work.
Michelangelo was born in Caprese, Italy in 1475 and died in Rome, Italy 1564 but buried in Florence .
He is a well known sculptor painter, architect, and poet whom never married. The artist had many
great works but there will be three in particular that has caught my eye that will be the focus of this
paper. All of the pieces that I will be discussing are a part of the Renaissance period . The first piece
that I will focus on is called Pieta (1499) in St.Peter s Basilica. This is a sculpture of what seems to be
the virgin Mary and Jesus after he was crucified. This sculpture is a piece that was unique to me. As I
looked at this piece it seemed in away almost life like but the way he sculpted Mary was bueatifully
done. You can see the expression on her face and even the look of her garments that she wore were
very detailed. I noticed the way this painting has a triangular approach. If u look from the top of her
head where her veil starts to flow all the way to the floor or the feet of her son Jesus that is in the
shape of the triangle. The picture shows so much emotion. It shows Jesus lifeless in his mothers arms.
You can see fine details even little nail marks in his side. Exactly what does this sculpture portray I do
not know but I do know that just from

The small town society became a stranger when we moved to Maryland. The East Coast had
numerous identities. Two street blocks right next to one another felt worlds apart. The people there
were as culturally embracive as the city, all of them being unique and diverse. A perfect utopia that
didn t formally accept me. Baltimore is where I spent the rest of first grade and much of second grade.
My classroom experience was rather interesting, the education department there wanted us to
experience multiple teachers in one day, group projects, and most importantly the staff wanted to see
students mold their own learning experiences. My initial learning process from Mississippi did not
stop me from quickly adjusting and enjoying school every single day. My home life at the time
matched the same excitement as school. I was going to be a big brother. Months passed since the
move to Baltimore and I experienced so much in so little time. I forgot the place I once called home. I
longed to be apart of the utopia I intruded into. My mother and her fiance had some tension and
decided to move back to their home states.
Mississippi felt like a vague dream. Nothing was comprehensible. I was an observer again. Second
grade felt like a chore to complete. The feeling of disconnect was embodied by the fear of social
interaction. I spent the rest of second grade a quiet mute only wishing not to be noticed. Effort to
change my current circumstances were made during third grade.

Reflection On Chickens
As I was creating my chicken documentary, I delved deeper into the egg industry s hidden world.
Essentially, this project sparked an interest in the different egg titles, which lead me to seek out more
humane lifestyles for these hens. Sadly, some (people) hold this (animal treatment) on a basis of
divine revelation the other animals were put here for human kind to use as they see fit while others
deny that animals have the kind of subjectivity or experience that could give rise to a moral duty or
obligation on our party (Thompson). For humans, it is easy to view chickens as inferior and boring;
however, my project contradicts this assumption. The ten chickens I filmed demonstrated unique
characteristics, complex reasoning and future planning, and pure joy whilst roaming freely. Therefore,
the battery cage farms are archaic and cruel environments that further support animal cruelty.
According to Brian Ahmed, an Australian battery chicken farmer, chickens in battery cages, that is,
small wire cages, exist in a cleaner environment where disease and parasite rates are lower. So, they
don t fall ill and actually face less fatal risks. In fact, battery chicken s morality rate decreases to 1%.
This provides the world with plentiful and affordable eggs (Davey). Superficially, battery cages appear
humane. However, chickens contain cognitive, emotional, and behavior complexities that the battery
cages destroy (Friedrich). As previously stated, a battery cages are small wire

Cultural Methods And Forms Of The Bantu Migration In Africa
The Bantu migration is the dispersal of the Bantu people from the region of Cameroon and the Congo
area. The word Bantu does not refer to the people of the African expansion, but rather the African
languages belonging to the people in the Niger Congo. Cultural influences that occurred, due to the
migration of the Bantu people, laid out the foundation for other Sub Saharan societies. Historians have
used the collective information found by archeologists and other historians in order to draw
conclusions about the Bantu Migration. Linguistics, agriculture, and different types of art have been
the evidence needed to identify the culture and the specific patterns of movement, during this period.
Bantu speaking farmers are known to have spread through the Congo forests by the first millennium.
The rapid spread of the Bantu people became evident in the fifth century; the iron working and crop
cultivation of pumpkins, melons, and beans had become wide spread in central, eastern, and southern
Africa. Although crop cultivation is an efficient way to track movement patterns, this paper will focus
on the linguistics, genetics, and various art forms used to track the dispersal. Oral communication used
by the Bantu people was one of the only ways to relay information. Verbal communication and the
study of linguistics, in the instance of the Bantu Migration can be obscured because over familial
generations and time the language changes, forms its own dialect, and develops for

Development Cognitive Neuropsychology A Discipline
Introduction
Cognitive processes are described as the performance of composite cognitive actions. Notably
cognitive processes are operations that influence the content of the brain or the thinking process as
well as the remembering operation (Lamberts Goldstone, 2005). Cognitive processes are crucial
aspects of human behavior and are concerned with how persons utilize their skills. On the other hand,
cognitive neuropsychology is a component of cognitive psychology. Cognitive neuropsychology is
directed into comprehending how brain s function and structure are linked to certain psychological
processes. More significantly, cognitive neuropsychology studies the damaged brain cognitive effects
with the aim of inferring cognitive functioning models. Cognitive neuropsychology is a portion of the
extensive research field known as neuroscience. Neuroscience is multidisciplinary perspective that
combines numerous means of looking at cognition and human brain (Kaye, 2010). It is important to
note that evidence of brain injury, cognitive effects as well as the development of cognitive
neuropsychology is founded on patient case studies.
Understanding Cognitive Processes and Cognitive Neuropsychology Cognitive processes entail
working memory. Working memory is the human capacity to coordinate mental procedures with

Chartists and Chartism Essays
Chartists and Chartism
Chartism was the name of a variety of protest movements in England during the 1830s and 40s, which
aimed to bring about change in social and economic conditions through political reform. Its name
comes from the People s Charter, a six point petition presented to the House of Commons with the
hope of having it made law. The six point included annual parliaments, universal manhood suffrage,
abolition of the property qualification for members of the House of Commons, the secret ballot, equal
electoral districts, and salaries for members of Parliament.
This was the first independent working class movement in the world, that is, not simply sporadic
uprisings or agitation, and arose after the Reform Bill of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Convention then proclaimed a general strike, but many had no employer to strike against, and the
Convention broke up after riots in various parts of England and Wales, with many leaders arrested and
troops sent in by the government. A similar petition was presented in 1842, another bad time, with
even more signatures, and was again firmly rejected. Again there were strikes; again leaders were
jailed.
1848, the year Mary Barton was published, saw a final demonstration by the Chartists. This time they
had collected over 5,000,000 signatures and the presentation to the Parliament was attended with great
ceremony; an impressive parade carried the wagon loads of signatures to the House of Commons. This
was the year of revolution in Europe there had been revolts in Paris, Vienna (3), Venice, Berlin, Milan,
Rome, and Czechoslovakia and the British government was desperately afraid of large scale
demonstrations. Many troops were deployed in London and the petition failed again, which brought
about the virtual end of Chartism.
` The supporters of Chartism were from different working class groups, but all were victims of the
Industrial Revolution. One group consisted of the older handicrafts and domestic skills those who
worked on commission in their homes, at looms or knitting frames, under the so called putting out
system, where their materials were supplied by a factor or middleman who later came to collect the

At the beginning of Sarah Polley s 2013 Stories We Tell, a quote by Margret Atwood appears and
states that, In the end, we ll all become stories (Polley). This quote leads to the main message of the
film involving storytelling and the profound significance it carries in life. As memories form, we
reflect on them and the stories that accumulate from those memories begin to define us. The film
begins with Polley presenting her storytellers, who are all part of the family. She simply asks her
family to tell the story, from the beginning, of her mother Diane. They have their own way of
disclosing facts about Diane, but it s how each person uniquely tells the story that is most interesting.
Whether filled with pleasure, sorrow, or regret, each subject individually describes Diane s life. This
reveals that how one is remembered or even currently portrayed is established through the memories
of others, mysteries and all. Through the use of intimate interviews of her family members, Polley
successfully investigates the reconstruction of her mother s existence. The memories and stories
families collectively tell, even if they are unclear, are what define the truth. Each person s honesty
reveals his or her perspective on the story of Diane. The film uncovers details of the marriage of Sarah
s dad Michael and mom Diane. Each sibling describes Diane as exciting and Michael as more mellow.
The family members then continue describing the in s and out s of Diane s family, life, and

Social Media As A Negative Aspect Of Their Lives
Many people have begun to perceive social media as a negative aspect of their lives. They believe that
they do not get enough face to face interaction and this causes their actual social life to deteriorate.
However, this is a fallacy. Clive Thompson writes, Fewer than 20% of kids send more than 200 texts a
day; 31% send barely 20 or fewer (Thompson Teenagers and social networking it might actually be
good for them ). It is a person s choice to spend the majority of their time using social media. Social
media has many more positives than negatives. A perfect example of this is global communications.
People can speak with relatives, business partners, and friends from around the world. Many others
are capable of using social media to their economic advantage as well. There are many companies
founded through the use of the internet and use social media to self promote these companies. Also,
the internet and specifically, social media is now used as a valuable source of news and many people s
primary way of obtaining recent news. Therefore, although social media may cause less human
interaction it does generally make us more social due to the fact that we can interact with others
globally within minutes and access news in the same fashion. There are many cases of ludicrous
things happening on the internet through social media. Things such as cyber bullying or stalking. Due
to this many people no longer feel safe when they use social media. They are reluctant to post

Theories Regarding Behaviors And Cognitive Biases And The...
In recent years politicians and foundations have focused attention on the large numbers of students
who begin college but never finish. More than 40 percent of full time starting students fail to complete
within six years, and more than 70 percent of community college students fail to complete within three
years (NCES 2012). Whether or not these rates are a sign of a problem, it remains true that the nation
would gain the benefit of more college graduates if policies could be identified that would
substantially increase graduation rates, assuming the increase does not come with a reduction in
standards or a problematic shift in majors. The goal of this paper is to apply theories regarding
behaviors and cognitive biases to the task of improving college outcomes. We start by making some
simplifying assumptions about the motivations of college students in order to pinpoint relevant
barriers to student progress. This allows us to tap the research literature for strategies to consider
applying, including altering incentives. In the second section, we discuss behaviors to which these
strategies can be applied, and we describe some approaches that could be considered. The point of
college is to create independent and self motivated learners. The reader should be warned that the lists
of possible experiments, when reviewed en masse, can create a disturbing specter of students being
micromanaged through every aspect of a college education. In considering creative use of incentives,

The development of economics of many countries such as China, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, and
Singapore critically relies on this maritime route. The most used routes for trade and communication
among Europe, the Middle East, and the Far East are sea lanes that stretch in the South China Sea and
up to 700 ships pass through these sea lanes daily.
In term of security and defense, the Asia Pacific Region has been one of the United States priorities
and the need for American engagement in this region is demonstrated in the long history. After Cold
War, the military presence of Soviet Union (Russia later) had been reduced in this region. It is said
that, in 15 20 coming years, this region hardly becomes the priorities for the strategy national security
of Russia. Although the United States cut off the number of soldiers and bases in allies countries, its
military presence in this region is significant to defend national security, assert the United States
leadership and reassurance its allies. Indonesia is an important security partner of the United States
and the world s largest Muslim majority state. Eleven of top 15 largest militaries in the world are in
this region. Of the five global challenges that the United States are facing currently (ISIS Islamic State
of Iraq and Syria; North Korea, China, Russia and Iran), four are in the Indo Asia Pacific.

Short Note On Emma Lazarus
Emma Lazarus, a nineteenth century Jewish American poet, was born on July 22, 1849 in New York
City. Her parents, Moses and Esther Nathan Lazarus, had seven children. She was the fourth of the
seven to born, with five sisters and one brother. Emma was born into one of the oldest and most
prestigious Hebrew families in New York. The Nathan Lazarus family was descended from the early
Jewish settlers in America. By the time Emma was born, they had been established in Manhattan for
four generations. The Lazarus family, descended from Sephardic Jews, were wealthy, earning their
fortune in the sugar refining business. Being born into a wealthy family provided Emma with the
resources to acquire a strong, rich, and classical education. In 1866, at the age of seventeen, her poems
and translations were first published by her father, who was a very influential man at that time (Young,
1995). Two years later, she sent her writing to Ralph Waldo Emerson, a respected American poet and
literary essayist and lecturer of the 19th century. He was impressed by her work, and soon became her
mentor, and friend (Young, 1995). During her lifetime, he became a great resource of guidance and
motivation.
Emma Lazarus was a well known author during her lifetime. In 1874, she was recognized as an author
of note (Young, 1995). She published more than 50 poems in popular magazines, such as Lippincott s,
The Century, and The Critic. In 1871, she published a book of poetry called Admetus and Other

...and, in a shield, the World State s motto, Community, Identity, Stability (1).
Through the novel s first few lines, Aldous Huxley sets a framework for his characters and his plot.
With the story s progression, the motto s seemingly benign ideals reveal a harsher meaning. In Brave
New World, everybody has an immutable role in the community of Alphas, Betas, and laborers ― the

Ending
Disturbing describes the conclusion. When a crowd of morbidly fascinated citizens surround John, his
episode of soul cleansing quickly turns into a community episode of Orgy Porgy. After he awakens to
recall this event, the story jumps to his hanging body.
By the connection of these two scenes, it seems if John gave in to his sexual impulses then took his
own life from remorse.
Though John s storyline gets resolved through his death, the overall plot remains loose ended. Nothing
changes for the World State; everyone still lives in a perpetual state of ignorant bliss.
11.) Irony
Verbal Irony:
John exclaims Oh brave new world in times of anger or disdain at London.
This strengthens the satirical tone of Huxley s book.
Situational Irony:
The Director, a chauvinist of test tube babies and strict rules, has a natural born son.
A truly civilized man from the reader s perspective, World State citizens instead consider John a
Savage.
Of all people, Mustapha Mond, a World Control, reads inappropriate works like Shakespeare and the
Bible.
These contradictions between reality and perception create an atmosphere of uneasy

The Importance Of Poverty In South Korea
Over the summer, I traveled to Seoul, South Korea. One day, I decided to walk down streets of
Hongdae to see what everyone was doing. There were people everywhere; they were rushing around
hurriedly and frantically studying in cafés that lined the street. I turned down a side road to the front of
a temple, where I saw homeless people sitting on the ground, holding their hands out for even ₩10 (a
penny in US dollars). I walked further along onto the main road and found a mob of people protesting
various things in the middle of the street. This scene of endless work, poverty, and injustice is found
all over the world, not just in South Korea. With a world that consists of seeing so many terrible
events happening daily, the world needs hope.
One issue that reveals the need for hope is poverty. The 2015 Census found that 13.5% of America s
population was in poverty, and this number has probably risen up even higher as years have passed by
( Current Poverty Rate ). There are so many people in the world who are stuck in poverty and may
also feel resigned to being in poverty and not being able to do anything about it. Another issue that
shows the need for hope is war. The world is constantly talking about being on the verge of worldwide
conflict, and daily on the news, you see new stories about how tensions are rising that could lead us to
immediate nuclear war. For example, almost every day now, we hear stories about how North Korea
keeps threatening the world with the

Eukaryotic Cells Research Paper
The dissimilarity between eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells is quite apparent and diverse. One of the
major differences between the cells is their size. Prokaryotic cells usually range from 0.2 μm to 10 μm
while the size of eukaryotic cells range from 10 μm to 100 μm. Additionally, prokaryotic cells have no
nucleus and instead store DNA in a circular nucleoid that floats freely. Eukaryotic cells, on the other
hand, have a nucleus with a double membrane nuclear envelope. Many prokaryotes have cell walls
that are made of peptidoglycan (PTG) whereas the few eukaryotic cells that do possess cell walls lack
PTG. Although both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells both have plasma membranes, eukaryotic cells
are unique in the fact that they possess sterols ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the most prominent differences is the amount of peptidoglycan in the cell walls of both cells.
In gram positive cells, PTG is abundant and numerous, creating a thick layer, and in gram negative
cells, PTG is usually in small amounts or completely absent. In gram negative cells, teichoic acids are
absent and present in gram positive cells, providing rigidity to the cell wall. Gram positive cells have
no outer lipopolysaccharide membrane whereas the gram negative cells do giving the cells protection
against certain chemicals as well as structural integrity. Conclusively, the flagella in both gram
positive and gram negative cells have a different amount of rings in the basal body that anchor the
flagellum to the cell. In gram positive cells, there are two basal bodies and four basal bodies in the

  • 2. The Lasting Influences of the Classical World on Other... The Lasting Influences of the Classical World on Other Cultures across Time Drama and dramatic performances have consistently been present throughout human society, both as a medium for entertainment as well as a forum for education and critique. Aristophanes, the father of modern drama , was the first to really successfully amalgamate these two ideas together within his dramatic pieces, as can be seen in his works Wasps and Frogs. Shakespeare was the next great dramatist, and arguably the great dramatist, and he has evolved Aristophanes ideas and methods and developed them to greater extent. These can be seen in works such as A Midsummer Night s Dream, King Lear and Hamlet, but are present in the large majority of his works. And with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Here the First Dog, representative of Cleon, is accusing Laches not of having siciliating (embezzling) cheese (money) but of not having given the first dog his fair share. How can anyone claim to be serving your interests if I, the Dog, am not given my fair share? says the first dog. Aristophanes uses the character of the dog to highlight the corruption of Cleon and how he has his fingers in all of the proverbial pies. He also uses the parabasis to criticise the jurymen of Athens, comparing the jurymen to wasps and highlighting to the Athenians how the jurymen are prone to harsh sentencing and unjust treatment of the accused: if you haven t got a sting, you get no jury fee. The entire play is Aristophanes comments on the corruption of the jurymen, and their exploitation by the demagogue Cleon. Philocleon personifies the self interested, corrupt jurymen, who are taking incentives from Cleon (an increased pay) to judge harshly and sentence even more so. Cleon was using these trials to gain public appraisal as a seeker of justice, of course at the expense of the accused, which had been treated with an injustice by the jurymen eager to get their pay. Thus Aristophanes is enlightening the audience about the nature of their jury system, and is appealing to them to fix it. Likewise, Shakespeare addresses the issue of corruption within his play Hamlet. While not drawn from a real life example (at least, not one that is known), he uses the character of Claudius to ... • 3. Autism Spectrum Disorder Statistical evidences. ASD s gender proportion suggests that the autism is sex linked, and the statistical evidence convincingly shows that genetic factors are playing key role in the prevalence of ASD. To begin with, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) published the relationship between the number of autistic boys and girls. The statistical evidence shows that boys are more inclined to become autistic than girls. CDC states that 1 in 42 boys and 1 in 189 girls were identified as having ASD. This observation shows that ASD is likely a sex linked inheritance. Sex liked inheritance is defined as a pattern of inheritance characteristic of genes located on the sex chromosomes of organisms having a chromosomal mechanism for sex determination (Sadava et al., 2014). If the ASD was sex linked inheritance, the ratio between male and female exhibiting the phenotype would result in 3 to 1 under the normal curve. The ratio between boy and girl is approximately 5 to 1, which shows that there is a strong association between sex linked inheritance and ASD. For this reason, it is reasonable to conclude that ASD is primarily influenced by the genetic factor, which is prenatal. On the other hand, some behavioral psychiatrists would argue that the conclusion is inaccurately determined, since the genetic mutation would not occur within a decade. As indicated in Appendix C: Table 1, the rate at which the number of ASD children increase ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Temporary work growth has grown three times faster than permanent employment between 2009 and 2012, and most of the temporary work growth has occurred within the young people. Positively, being in temporary work can lead to permanent work and can make one more flexible, which mostly benefits the young people in the workforce. We assume that one dryer can only process either bulk or bagged berries and not both at the same time. That is, one dryer can process 150 bbls./hr. of bagged berries or 200 bbls./hr. of bulk berries. With three drying units this gives an output rate of 150, 200, 300, 400, 450, or 600 bbls./hr. If we use the figures from Table B in the case we can find that 81.7% of the berries are bulk and the remaining 18.3% berries are to be bagged. At the 1,050 bbls./hr. rate for 12 hours (12,600 bbls. total) this corresponds to 10,294.2 bbls. bulk and 2,305.8 bbls. bagged. We also know that the bagged berries can be picked up at any time during 24 hours and it is thus advantageous to process bulk berries first during the day and then process bagged berries after hours. We also assume that berries prepared for baggin may also be used for bulk. Using the aforementioned assumptions, we can see that with three dryers we can process the bulk berries at a rate of 600 bbls./hr. and then switch to processing bagged berries at a rate of 450 bbls./hr. Using these rates we can find out how long trucks have to wait before they can empty their contents into a dumpster. • 10. Essay On Life Insurance INSURANCE BUSINESS PRE NATIONALISATION 2.1.1 The Concept of Insurance The entire modern world process has to face numerous risks and uncertainties. Thus in business, as in private life, there are dangers and risks of every kind. The concept of risk may be explained as the possibility of unfavourable results following from any occurrence. In a dynamic and free economy and life such risks are inevitable. The risk may mean that there is a possibility of loss or damage. It may or may not happen. When an event is stated to be possible, it has a possibility between zero and one, it is neither impossible not definite. The degree of risk may or may not be measurable. To the ordinary man in the street „risk‟ means exposure to danger. But at the same time in insurance practice risk is also used for peril or loss producing events. For example, it is said that insurance covers the risks of fire, explosion, cyclone, flood etc. Here the risks refer to the subject matter of insurance. Any risk contingent upon these may be insured against a premium commensurate with the risk involved. Thus a collective bearing of risk is insurance. The fast recent development of production from unconventional gas resources mainly shale gas in North America (United States and Canada) has interrupted this relationship. Motown Records is the first record label to successfully market black artists to the white mainstream audience. The conflicting results conjure up various questions regarding how the correlation is quantified, which may account for discrepancies in the results. Analysis of the established correlation cannot assertively establish causality, which suggests that further research is necessary to adequately qualify and quantify if disparate literacy levels are amplified and/or governed by text messaging, or lack thereof. The emergence and escalation of text messaging as a key mechanism in the socialization process has led to a paradigm shift in pedagogy, as teachers and professors must learn how to effectively appropriate important academic material through literacy practices within digital environments and contexts and approaches to the learning process. Moreover, examining the impact of text messaging friends in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

She was one of the most powerful and scary women in English history in my opinion. All for one main reason, She was not afraid of to do what she wanted to do. Their tools can be divided into three categories, the flames, the anvil and sledge/hammer, and the some other equipment. Under the first group was the bellows, the shovels, the rake and pretty much anything else used to move the coals, and the water trough. Under the second group was the tongs, cutters and chisels, as well as hammers and anvils. In the third group was the shoeing box (which contains knives, rasps, and files) to make horses feet and horse shoes. They made items by first softening the metal over a flame. They then used a bellows to get the flame as hot as necessary. There are three levels of heat, snowball heat, full welding heat, and light welding heat. The hottest is snowball heat, which refers to white heat; is used to weld. Then there is full welding heat, not quite as hot as snowball, employed to weld mild steel. The last is low or light welding heat, rarely used because of how difficult it is. Then when it is hot enough the blacksmith hits it with a hammer to shape it. On the Senate side, Chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, who recommended Rivlin, Edmund Muskie was a major influence in her appointment. One of the first things Rivlin did was bringing on Robert Reischauer, a fellow economist from the Brookings Institute, as her right hand man at CBO. She also reviewed the Budget Act, which specified what CBO was charged, which was relatively short. Therefore CBO had considerable freedom under the legislation since both the Senate and House had no clue what they wanted from their new budget shop. This provided Rivlin an enormous opportunity to look at other models of how to structure CBO. She could model CBO after other sister agencies like the General Accounting Office (GAO), Congressional Research Service (CRS), the former Office of Technology Assessment (OTA), Office of Management and Budget (OMB), or the Joint Committee on Internal Revenue Taxation Staff. Some suggestions were to organize CBO along functional lines with policy areas like defense or human resources in separate divisions each containing a numbers and analysis subdivision. Another suggestion was to spread the numbers function all around to enable program divisions with a focus on customer relations. But Rivlin also had to be aware of political patronage. The Belgians had colonized The Congo for its natural resources like many other western powers at the time that aimed for no more than have dominion on every creature that moved upon this earth (10) as it is confessed by Orleanna at the beginning of the novel. In a very similar way, Methuselah was kept in a cage by the humans against its will only because it was a weaker creature. Just like The Congo, Methuselah is not allowed the freedom of speech as every time he says something, Nathan Price gets mad and inquires which one of [the daughters] taught [it] to say that word (76). In a similar way, The Congo is denied the freedom of speech and is not considered as a sovereign state. Essentially, this project sparked an interest in the different egg titles, which lead me to seek out more humane lifestyles for these hens. Sadly, some (people) hold this (animal treatment) on a basis of divine revelation the other animals were put here for human kind to use as they see fit while others deny that animals have the kind of subjectivity or experience that could give rise to a moral duty or obligation on our party (Thompson). For humans, it is easy to view chickens as inferior and boring; however, my project contradicts this assumption. The ten chickens I filmed demonstrated unique characteristics, complex reasoning and future planning, and pure joy whilst roaming freely. Therefore, the battery cage farms are archaic and cruel environments that further support animal cruelty. So, they don t fall ill and actually face less fatal risks. In fact, battery chicken s morality rate decreases to 1%. This provides the world with plentiful and affordable eggs (Davey). Cultural influences that occurred, due to the migration of the Bantu people, laid out the foundation for other Sub Saharan societies. Historians have used the collective information found by archeologists and other historians in order to draw conclusions about the Bantu Migration. The rapid spread of the Bantu people became evident in the fifth century; the iron working and crop cultivation of pumpkins, melons, and beans had become wide spread in central, eastern, and southern Africa. Contribution Patient Case Studies Made In Understanding Cognitive Processes And In the Development Cognitive Neuropsychology A Discipline Introduction Cognitive processes are described as the performance of composite cognitive actions. Notably cognitive processes are operations that influence the content of the brain or the thinking process as well as the remembering operation (Lamberts Goldstone, 2005). Cognitive processes are crucial aspects of human behavior and are concerned with how persons utilize their skills. On the other hand, cognitive neuropsychology is a component of cognitive psychology. Cognitive neuropsychology is directed into comprehending how brain s function and structure are linked to certain psychological processes. More significantly, cognitive neuropsychology studies the damaged brain cognitive effects with the aim of inferring cognitive functioning models. Cognitive neuropsychology is a portion of the extensive research field known as neuroscience. Neuroscience is multidisciplinary perspective that combines numerous means of looking at cognition and human brain (Kaye, 2010). The six point included annual parliaments, universal manhood suffrage, abolition of the property qualification for members of the House of Commons, the secret ballot, equal electoral districts, and salaries for members of Parliament. Again there were strikes; again leaders were jailed. 1848, the year Mary Barton was published, saw a final demonstration by the Chartists. This time they had collected over 5,000,000 signatures and the presentation to the Parliament was attended with great ceremony; an impressive parade carried the wagon loads of signatures to the House of Commons. This was the year of revolution in Europe there had been revolts in Paris, Vienna (3), Venice, Berlin, Milan, Rome, and Czechoslovakia and the British government was desperately afraid of large scale demonstrations. These displays indicate the state of the performance metric compared with a goal or target value. Increasingly, dashboards are used to disseminate real time data from operational applications or in conjunction with a complex event processing engine. * 2.3 Ad hoc query * This capability enables users to ask their own questions of the data, without relying on IT to create a report. In particular, the tools must have a robust semantic layer to allow users to navigate available data sources. These tools should include a disconnected analysis capability that enables users to access BI content and analyze data remotely without being connected to a server based BI application. In addition, these tools should offer query governance and auditing capabilities to ensure that queries perform well. * 2.4 Microsoft Office integration * In some use cases, BI platforms are used as a middle tier to manage, secure and execute BI tasks, but Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) acts as the BI client. In these cases, it is vital that the BI vendor provides integration with

  • 43. Analysis Of Sarah Polley s Stories We Tell At the beginning of Sarah Polley s 2013 Stories We Tell, a quote by Margret Atwood appears and states that, In the end, we ll all become stories (Polley). This quote leads to the main message of the film involving storytelling and the profound significance it carries in life. As memories form, we reflect on them and the stories that accumulate from those memories begin to define us. The film begins with Polley presenting her storytellers, who are all part of the family. She simply asks her family to tell the story, from the beginning, of her mother Diane. They have their own way of disclosing facts about Diane, but it s how each person uniquely tells the story that is most interesting. Whether filled with pleasure, sorrow, or regret, each subject individually describes Diane s life. This reveals that how one is remembered or even currently portrayed is established through the memories of others, mysteries and all. Through the use of intimate interviews of her family members, Polley successfully investigates the reconstruction of her mother s existence. The memories and stories families collectively tell, even if they are unclear, are what define the truth. Each person s honesty reveals his or her perspective on the story of Diane. The film uncovers details of the marriage of Sarah s dad Michael and mom Diane. Each sibling describes Diane as exciting and Michael as more mellow. The family members then continue describing the in s and out s of Diane s family, life, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Social Media As A Negative Aspect Of Their Lives Many people have begun to perceive social media as a negative aspect of their lives. They believe that they do not get enough face to face interaction and this causes their actual social life to deteriorate. However, this is a fallacy. Clive Thompson writes, Fewer than 20% of kids send more than 200 texts a day; 31% send barely 20 or fewer (Thompson Teenagers and social networking it might actually be good for them ). It is a person s choice to spend the majority of their time using social media. Social media has many more positives than negatives. A perfect example of this is global communications. People can speak with relatives, business partners, and friends from around the world. Many others are capable of using social media to their economic advantage as well. There are many companies founded through the use of the internet and use social media to self promote these companies. Also, the internet and specifically, social media is now used as a valuable source of news and many people s primary way of obtaining recent news. Therefore, although social media may cause less human interaction it does generally make us more social due to the fact that we can interact with others globally within minutes and access news in the same fashion. There are many cases of ludicrous things happening on the internet through social media. Things such as cyber bullying or stalking. Due to this many people no longer feel safe when they use social media. They are reluctant to post ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Theories Regarding Behaviors And Cognitive Biases And The... In recent years politicians and foundations have focused attention on the large numbers of students who begin college but never finish. More than 40 percent of full time starting students fail to complete within six years, and more than 70 percent of community college students fail to complete within three years (NCES 2012). Whether or not these rates are a sign of a problem, it remains true that the nation would gain the benefit of more college graduates if policies could be identified that would substantially increase graduation rates, assuming the increase does not come with a reduction in standards or a problematic shift in majors. The goal of this paper is to apply theories regarding behaviors and cognitive biases to the task of improving college outcomes. We start by making some simplifying assumptions about the motivations of college students in order to pinpoint relevant barriers to student progress. This allows us to tap the research literature for strategies to consider applying, including altering incentives. In the second section, we discuss behaviors to which these strategies can be applied, and we describe some approaches that could be considered. The point of college is to create independent and self motivated learners. The reader should be warned that the lists of possible experiments, when reviewed en masse, can create a disturbing specter of students being micromanaged through every aspect of a college education. In considering creative use of incentives, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When a crowd of morbidly fascinated citizens surround John, his episode of soul cleansing quickly turns into a community episode of Orgy Porgy. After he awakens to recall this event, the story jumps to his hanging body. By the connection of these two scenes, it seems if John gave in to his sexual impulses then took his own life from remorse. Though John s storyline gets resolved through his death, the overall plot remains loose ended. Nothing changes for the World State; everyone still lives in a perpetual state of ignorant bliss. 11.) Irony Verbal Irony: John exclaims Oh brave new world in times of anger or disdain at London. This strengthens the satirical tone of Huxley s book. Situational Irony: The Director, a chauvinist of test tube babies and strict rules, has a natural born son. • 50. The Importance Of Poverty In South Korea Over the summer, I traveled to Seoul, South Korea. One day, I decided to walk down streets of Hongdae to see what everyone was doing. There were people everywhere; they were rushing around hurriedly and frantically studying in cafés that lined the street. I turned down a side road to the front of a temple, where I saw homeless people sitting on the ground, holding their hands out for even ₩10 (a penny in US dollars). I walked further along onto the main road and found a mob of people protesting various things in the middle of the street. This scene of endless work, poverty, and injustice is found all over the world, not just in South Korea. With a world that consists of seeing so many terrible events happening daily, the world needs hope. One issue that reveals the need for hope is poverty. The 2015 Census found that 13.5% of America s population was in poverty, and this number has probably risen up even higher as years have passed by ( Current Poverty Rate ). There are so many people in the world who are stuck in poverty and may also feel resigned to being in poverty and not being able to do anything about it. Another issue that shows the need for hope is war. The world is constantly talking about being on the verge of worldwide conflict, and daily on the news, you see new stories about how tensions are rising that could lead us to immediate nuclear war. For example, almost every day now, we hear stories about how North Korea keeps threatening the world with the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 51. Eukaryotic Cells Research Paper The dissimilarity between eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells is quite apparent and diverse. One of the major differences between the cells is their size. Prokaryotic cells usually range from 0.2 μm to 10 μm while the size of eukaryotic cells range from 10 μm to 100 μm. Additionally, prokaryotic cells have no nucleus and instead store DNA in a circular nucleoid that floats freely. Eukaryotic cells, on the other hand, have a nucleus with a double membrane nuclear envelope. Many prokaryotes have cell walls that are made of peptidoglycan (PTG) whereas the few eukaryotic cells that do possess cell walls lack PTG. Although both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells both have plasma membranes, eukaryotic cells are unique in the fact that they possess sterols ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the most prominent differences is the amount of peptidoglycan in the cell walls of both cells. In gram negative cells, teichoic acids are absent and present in gram positive cells, providing rigidity to the cell wall. Gram positive cells have no outer lipopolysaccharide membrane whereas the gram negative cells do giving the cells protection against certain chemicals as well as structural integrity.
