In this project, LCD is used in order to display the status of train arrival or departure. In that way, it
will indicate the motorists that gate is going to be closed.
The program logic is written in embedded c program by using Kiel micro vision environment. The
program written is then converted in the hex code after simulation and burned onto the
microcontroller using FLASH micro vision.
This project can also be developed further to have a buzzer sound in order to alert the public while
the gate is closing. A control room can also be provided at the railway crossings for constant
monitoring of the equipment to reduce the chances of errors and to make this user friendly.

SENSORS: The sensor used is a PIR (Passive Infra Red) Sensor. It is a pyroelectric device that

detects motion by measuring changes in the infrared levels emitted by surrounding objects. This
motion can be detected by checking for a high signal on a single I/O pin.

I found the film of the lecture given by Naomi Wolf to be exceptionally interesting and thought
provoking. The beginning of her discussion surrounding the topic of beauty and the reason
women are seemingly so obsessed with it was presented in a way that I have never considered
myself. The idea that the media and culture surrounding women is one of a purposeful
preoccupation with beauty and the conceived notions of what that means is very striking. To
continue the discussion about her idea surrounding women and girls and their preoccupation with
beauty standards it is easy to segue the conversation into the dangers of this preoccupation. The
numerous repercussions of this preoccupation with unrealistic beauty standards is manifested in
both physical and mental effects. One of the effects that was discussed to a large extent is eating

Why do I keep my Jeep when it keeps breaking down on me? That is the question that I have
asked myself multiple times over the summer. To this day, I have put more time, effort and money
into my Jeep than it is actually worth. So why continue to restore this beautifully ancient beast?

getting an automobile, I expected to go out and hand pick one that I deemed suitable for my

freedom from them, all while being watched on television by George and Hazel Bergeron. The

During this scene, Hazel suggests that George takes his handicaps off, but he responds by telling

Stanley Kubrick is known for his distinct style of filmmaking in such films like 2001: A Space
Odyssey and A Clockwork Orange. While those films do showcase the sense of auteurship from
Kubrick, his earlier works are more conventional when compared to the 1950s style of filmmaking.
The Killing is a 1956 noir filmand Kubrick s third feature film, and was produced by United
Artists with a $200,000 investment and $320,000 budget from James B. Harris. This was also the
first collaboration of producer James B. Harris and Kubrick, and would later on produce two more
films. Unlike famous noir films like Double Indemnity, The Killingdid not become instantly
successful, but it became more noteworthy in the retrospect as Kubrick became an established
filmmaker in his later films. Like almost every Kubrick film, The Killing was based on another
material, and in this case, a 1955 low budget novel titled Clean Break by crime novelist Lionel

When Cleopatra came out in 1963, it was running on the budget of $44 million ($297 in 2007
dollars). The movie follows Cleopatra VII, last queen and monarch of Ancient Egypt from 48

enrolled in Religious Studies 217, I have gained a lot of knowledge that allow me to believe that I

The first two ceremonies I would explain are the Bar Mitzvah and the Bat Mitzvah, which are
quite similar to each other. At the age of 13, Jewish boys become a Bar Mitzvah and at the age of

Christian Lous Lange once said Technology is a useful servant but a dangerous master. Ray
Bradbury, would agree with this quote completely because in his story, The Veldt , he shows how
too much technology can affect families by using conflicts between a set of parents and their
children. Technology can be obsessive, and can cause people to become unfocused at what s at
hand. In this story, Bradbury uses a failing familyunit, obsession of materials, and lack of
discipline to show that not reprimanding kids can have grave consequences. Through several of
the disrespectful actions made by the kids, Bradbury is portraying that the lack of respect is
leading to the failing of a family unit. Peter looked at his shoes. He never looks at his father
anymore, nor his mother. When people respect one another, they make eye contact while
speaking, Peter does not even have enough respect for his dad to look him in the eye. On what.
Peter yells this at his dad when he does not hear what he wants. The fact that he cannot make eye
contact with his dad, and also yell at him like that, shows the amount of hate he has for his
father. This lack of respect is further portraying how there s no family unit because they act as
