How The Gospel Changed My Life
It s truly been an interesting week, and typically it is for me. Never a dull moment
when you re on the move sixteen hours a day and always doing something. I ve had
many opportunities to share bits of what I believe to be true and know to be right,
as well as information about the gospel with my customers as I go door to door
selling Dish TV (Network). It s amazing how in the simplest conversation so many
things can come up and so many truths can be shared. For example, as a missionary,
you have a goal in mind to share the gospeland to teach with the power and authority
given to you by God and his Prophets which he has called. Yet, as a return mission

At first, it was daunting and very demanding I felt I had to be the best I can be.
Yet, I have talked with each of them about the gospel and they are open and hear
me out. I think they see the difference and respect it and may have a desire to learn
more. Three of the guys, Alexis, Calvin, and James are the ones who have really
paid the most attention. They don t swear around me, they don t offer me things
that would go contrary to what I believe. I had an experience last night after a long
day s work, that was amazing. They asked me why I would give two years of my
life to serve a mission and get rejected and set myself to just a tedious schedule. My
only answer to them was this, Because it s true, the gospel is true . Which lead on
to me sharing a little of my conversion story when I was twenty years old. I love,
love, love sharing the gospel and last night I realized how blessed I am to be able
to do it word and deed. Every single day for the rest of the summer. Not only with
these three guys but with everyone I meet. It also had built the relationship between
us guys in the office stronger, we are more of a team and a brotherhood. We uplift

school s process for identifying students with special needs? (See Appendix A for

process we use is called RTI. All students start with the universal screening (MAP,
DIBELS, DRA, DSA). If the score is at or above benchmark, the instruction continues
as followed. If not, the intervention implemented and progress monitoring occurs. If
the student gets at or above benchmark with the interventions implemented, the
student graduates to the regular instruction. If not, an RTI grade level meeting
occurs to check progress. Then it is decided to intensify or adjust an intervention that
was already in place. From here, a student can graduate or an SPMC (student
progress monitoring conference) takes place to take an individual problem solving
approach. To this meeting attend parent(s), teachers, principal, psychologist, and any
other team member necessary. From this meeting, an intervention is designed for the
specific child and others factors may be addressed as well (home environment, etc.).
Progress is monitor again and the student may graduate. If not, a disability may be
suspected and there may be the need to assess more. A consent for evaluation is
needed prior to testing the student. Parents need to be on board with the

The Republic Of Congo And Cameroon
A Chinese proverb accredited to Confucius says that to define the future, you need to
study the past. Indeed, studying and understanding the past is paramount to
understand the current situation of SVGB crimes in the CAR. Therefore, the
following Chapter will focus on a brief analysis of the history of the CAR,
highlighted its political instability.
The CAR, located in central Africa, is currently the scene of some of the most
atrocious human right violations. The landlocked country extending on 622,984
square kilometres neighbours countries such as Chad, Sudan, South Sudan, the
Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), the Republic of Congo and Cameroon.
Its diverse ethnic composition includes the two main ethnic groups, namely the
Baya (33%) and the Banda (27%). Likewise, the religious composition is a diverse
one with 25% of the population being Protestant, 25% Roman Catholics, 15%
Muslims and 35% indigenous beliefs followers. Since the independence from
France in 1960, the CAR has been sinking deeper into poverty, corruption and
political instability. Each change of government either started or ended with a

Glass Ball And The Law Of Attraction
Glass Ball An idealist is a person who is guided more by ideals than by practical
consideration; In other word, an idealist realizes that he or she can create there
own world. Perception, ideals, and beliefs are what make people failures or
successful ; coincidentally, the definition of success and failure is also a
perception. Diving deeper into this mysterious theory or fact, beliefs people have
ultimately control what actions they take on a daily basis. An example of this,
using a common fear with an estimation of 75% of people has, would be the
glossophobia, also known as the fear of public speaking. If a person believed that
public speaking is frightening and could ruin their reputation, then most likely he or
she will avoid public speaking; conversely, if that same person believed that public
speaking is fun and easy, they may be more inclined to giving a public speech without
hesitation. (Glossophobia)... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To briefly touch on one, the Law of Attraction, it basically comes down to positive
thoughts attract positive life experiences, while negative thoughts attract negative life
experiences. Multiple famous and successful people believe in the idea of the Law of
Attraction, some including Will Smith, Oprah Winfrey, Jim Carrey, and Denzel
Washington. The reason I connect to idealism and the Law of Attraction is primarily
because of its limitless power and opportunity to be and become the best version of
you without the world s bias of what you should be like. (The Seven Universal

Poem Analysis In How do I love thee by Elizabeth Barrett Browning. I believe that
the person talking is professing about a kind of love that can stand the test of time.
You know that kind of love. Every day and moment is cherished by both. Each
person knows almost everything about each other and they have been together for
what would seem like forever. It is very rare these days to see a younger generation
finding that love. And in a way it is understandable with all the new technology that
can help with relationships. Back then there was not a thing called therapy or a

Suddenly they have to live their life like they may be gone the next day and the
day they are living in is their last day on this earth. There is a fire sparked in their
life and everything that they do suddenly matters to them. Even the little things
they do for a daily routine, such as brushing their hair in the morning or picking
out an outfit the night before for the day to come. He could very well be trying to
express this kind of love for her by stating it in the poem. Maybe he already does
that and he wants to share it with the world. Like the fact that every little thing that
she does may mean something to him and may put him in a state of awe. Or in the
same sense he could be showing the world that he cares for her because he finds
the little things in life that could make her happy. Toward the end of the poem it
also states that he loves this woman with his childhood s faith. I think what he
means is that he loves her like a child would. Looking back, as a child, nothing
really mattered. Everyone that you knew shared what they had with hardly any
questions asked. Your parents were the coolest people you that you knew. You
could roam free with mismatched clothes and shoes and no one would care and you
could just play and everyone was nice to you no matter the color of your skin, how
much money your parents made or where you were from. I believe that the author of
this poem is trying to convey that the speaker has this kind of thinking
Psychodynamic Approach Case Studies
There are useful observations based on understanding of Adaptive Leadership,
Psychodynamic Approach, and Team Leadership as they apply to the leadership of
Friendship Baptist Church. The theoretical study of the application of these theories
offer some informative data sets.
Applying Adaptive Leadership to the Case Study
Adaptive learning involves the awareness of the organization dynamic and the
member needs as well. The leadership dynamic involves the assessment of needs and
the best ways to meet those needs within organization. Adaptive Leadership provides
the understanding, skills, and support that we need to do two things well: distinguish
what s essential from what s expendable and innovate in ways that dovetail with those
essentials. In the case of Friendship Baptist Church, the leadership of the organization
has become stagnant and ineffective. There has never been an in depth assessment of
the needs of the church and the ways leadership might meet them. The church has
failed to connect to the changing demographic of the community. A predominately

The psychodynamic approach places emphasis on leaders obtaining insight into their
personality characteristics and understanding the response of subordinates, based on
their personalities. Leaders should also encourage work group members to gain
insight into their own personalities so that they could understand their reactions to
the leader and each other. Important concepts in psychodynamic approach to
leadership include e.g. the family of origin, individuation, dependence and
independence, regression and the shadow self. These concepts come from
psychoanalysis and psychiatry and can sometimes be abstruse and not easily
understood. That is the reason that there has been attempts to make psychodynamic
theory more

Glory Essay
The film Glory by Edward Zwick is one of the most well known films of all time.
The film itself is solely based upon the first formal unit of the Union Army during the
American Civil War which consist of all African Americanmen. They were
essentially the very first unit of United States Colored Troops. They were formally
known for their courageous attempts to and actions at Fort Wagner in 1863. The film
is set in many different locations such as New York, Maryland, South Carolina and
Massachusetts. In each of these different locations events took place that shaped our
history. For example on November twenty seventh of 1862 Robert Shaw started to
train soldiers. July eighteenth 1863 the Colonel Shaw and his troops attempted to
take Fort Wagner, which didn t succeed.
The film has many characters that actually made a difference in history. Four major
characters were Colonel Robert Gould Shaw, Pvt. Trip, Sgt. Maj. John Rawlins and
Cpl. Thomas Searles. Colonel Shaw served as the Commander of the 54th
Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry. He also serves as great leader to his troops. Pvt.
Trip was a soldier of the 54th Regiment. Seen to other soldiers as a smart mouth
trouble maker because of his background. Sgt. Maj. John Rawlins started as a grave
digger for wars then moved up to a non commissioned officer. After volunteering for
the 54th regiment he was promoted by Major Cabot Forbes. He had to

Since The Very Beginning There Has Been Discrimination,
Since the very beginning there has been discrimination, corruption, and over all
rebellion. People have always fought for their beliefs, one way or another. A widely
spread argument now is the question if gay marriage should become legal. This
question has been becoming more public throughout the years. People have had
conflicting thoughts about this topic whether gays should be allowed to marry or
not. On June 26th, 2015, gay marriagewas ruled to have rights that would be
protected by the US Constitution commitments of liberty and equality. Since then,
gay marriage was legalized in all states, however, is still and controversial issue
because people believe that same sex couples should not have the same rights as

This law prevented same sex couples from receiving the same benefits that
heterosexual couples had and states did not have to recognize gay marriages that
were performed in state or out of state. In 2003, a few states established the rights
to sexual privacy and gave same sex couples the same rights as heterosexual
married couples without calling it marriage. After this was ruled the number of
states that banned gay marriage went from 13 to 30. President Obama became the
first sitting US president to announce publicly his support for gay marriage stating:
At a certain point, I ve just concluded that for me personally it is important for me
to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married .
In 2013 and 2014, gay marriage bans were overturned by courts in several states, but
were put on hold by the US Supreme Court. This topic was on hold and declined up
until 2015. On June 26th, 2015, the US Supreme Court ruled that the US Constitution
guarantees the right for same sex marriages, therefore, same sex marriage was
legalized in all 50 US states. As of 2015, 19 out of 194 countries allow same sex
couples to marry nationwide.
Many citizens reject same sex marriage as homosexuality. Individuals consider it
immoral and unnatural saying kids need to be raised by a mother and father and not
by a same sex couple because it teaches them to like the same sex, which is wrong in

Traditional Utilitarianism. According To Our Text,...
Traditional Utilitarianism According to our text, utilitarianism is a general term for
any view that holds that actions and policies should be evaluated based on the
benefits and costs they will impose on society (Velasquez, 2012). In any
circumstance, the right activity or approach is the one that will create the best net
advantages or the most reduced net costs (when all options have just net expenses).
Furthermore, utilitarianismrule holds that any activity is morally right if and just if
the aggregate results of a similar demonstration are more than the results created by
some other activity a specialist could have done in its place. As indicated by
utilitarianism just a single activity is ideal in the last examination: the... Show more

In any case, customary utilitarians would preclude that an activity from securing a
specific kind is dependably either right or off base. Rather, each activity would need
to be measured given its specific conditions. Utilitarian perspectives have additionally
been exceedingly powerful in financial aspects. A long line of business analysts,
starting in the nineteenth century, contended that monetary conduct could be
clarified by expecting that individuals dependably endeavor to amplify their utility
and that the utilities of products can be measured by the costs individuals will pay for
them.
Ecological Ethic Ecological ethics is the moral view that nonhumans parts of the earth
should be saved for their own purpose, paying little mind to whether this gives
individuals advantages. Additionally, we people have an obligation to not hurt them
without adequately genuine reasons. There are a few assortments of biological
morals, some more radical and expansive than others. The most famous form asserts
that, notwithstanding individuals, different creatures have natural esteem and are
meriting our regard and security. A few utilitarians, for example, Peter Singer, for
instance have claimed that agony is a shrewdness whether it is incurred on people or
on individuals from different species. Moreover, Singer contends that the torment

Beowulf And King Arthur Analysis
Beowulf versus King Arthur
Courage, perseverance, and honor are all traits of a hero. Beowulf and King Arthur
both share many qualities of a hero. The epic of Beowulf is about a great Geat that
defeats the horrid Grendel of Denmark. The story, Once and Future King, is about the
great King Arthur and how he became king and his reign in England. Beowulf is a
fearless leader that defeats great monsters and deadly giants. Later in his life he
defeats Grendel, Grendel s mother, and a dragon. King Arthur was the outcast in his
family; he did not fit in as a child. As he grows older, his tutor Merlyn teaches him
about different values in life. King Arthur, formally known as Wart, becomes king
when he pulls the famous sword from the stone. Both Beowulf and King Arthur
shared many traits that made them epic heros.
Courage is a trait shared by Beowulf and King Arthur or Wart . Beowulf showed
courage through the many battles he fought . Beowulf went to Heorot in hopes of
defeating Grendel, the monster that had been attacking Herot for the last twelve
years. This was courageous because he knew that he could be killed, but he fought
anyway because that s what he needed to do. Wart showed courage when he pulled
the sword out of the stone. He did not want to be King of England, let alone at such
a young age. He wanted to put the sword back in the stone or let someone else
become King. Wart was courageous and became King because he knew that was his
duty. These examples show that courage
The First Battle Of Bull Run Essay
THE FIRST BATTLE OF BULL RUN
On July 21, 1861, two armies, one confederate and the other Union, prepared for the
first major land battle of the Civil War. In 1861 Abraham Lincoln was sworn in as
President.
The Southern states had seceded and the South had fired on and captured Fort Sumter
on April 12 1861.
After the Fort Sumter battle, both the North and the South began preparing for war
by raising armies. This was done quickly and neither side spent much time training
the troops. Both sides also did not know what a long and terrible war was ahead.

The Confederates at Manassas knew far ahead of this action due to many Southern
spies in Washington. The Southern troops spread in lines along eight miles of Bull
Run Creek. The heaviest Southern troops were on a ridge around Henry House. After
a few skirmishes, the Union Army arrived at Bull Run on July 21, 1861.
As the Union Army approached Bull Run, General Johnston s army faked an attack
at Harpers Ferry. As the 18,000 Union troops dug in for assault, the Southern forces
jumped on rail cars and headed for Bull Run to reinforce the Confederate Army.
General McDonnell attempted to flank the Confederates by moving north and west,
and began several attacks on the Confederates right flank and the center of the
Confederate line at Henry House.
As the battle wore on, the superior numbers of the Union Army began to wear
down the Confederate lines. At a critical point, as the Confederates began to fall
back, an officer pointed out a line of rebels who were still strong. He said, look at
Jackson s men standing like a stone wall . He was talking about General T. J.
Jackson s men. Jackson would from then on be known as Stonewall Jackson , one of
the most famous of all Confederate generals. This seemed to inspire the Southern

An Essay Discussing the True Effects of a Living Wage

Introduction
It has been 20 years since the first living wage was introduced in Baltimore,
Maryland. Long has it been argued that profitable organizations should have to pay a
living wage to its employees. A wage sufficient enough to allow the employee to
have a high enough standard of living to adequately take care of their family. The
gap between social statuses is increasing even more, and having a living wage in
place will help to reduce this gap in society, enabling those at the lower end of the
economic spectrum to enjoy more luxuries that they would not usually have access
to. Some key discussion points that need to be addressed are; possible job losses,
reduction of poverty level, the effect on crime, health care effects, reducing urban
poverty, and the varying costs of living that occur depending in different geographic
locations. In this essay I will be debating the thesis of profitable organizations should
be required to pay all their employees a living wage.
What is a Living Wage?
According to the Collins English Dictionary a living wage is a wage adequate to
permit a wage earner to live and support a family in reasonable comfort . The
Treasury Report released by the New Zealand government states this wage to be
$18.40 an hour. By their calculations this wage is what is required by a family of
two adults and two children. The living

it is important that you involve key stakeholders of the company in the decision

the entire company and the person behind making the corporate strategies. He is

Another way of successfully gathering information is by building a prototype or
model of the system, so that users can test or get an idea of what the finished product
will be like. With this they can determine issues, problems, or inconsistency with the
system. Another important part of gathering information is organizing it so that it
can be understood and put to proper use. I propose categorizing the requirements into
functional requirements, operational requirements, technical requirements, and
transitional requirements. The functional requirements define how the user thinks the
system is functioning overall, the operational requirements define what background
processes need to be executed in order for the system to work optimally over a
period of time, the technical requirements define what technical issues that must be
addressed in order to successfully implement the system, and the transitional
requirements define the processes or steps needed to implement the system
smoothly and successfully. ( Mind Tools , 2012). 1.4. Project Scope The project

Analysis Of The Article The Pelican Brief
The Wetlands In Grisham s novel, The Pelican Brief, he presents a case where an
organization attempts to protect the coastal marshes of Louisiana against the selfish
oil companies and citizens that wish to destroy it for money. This is a tremendous
concern that people deal with in America. John Grisham wrote The Pelican Brief, in
1992 and it was one of his best selling books. Louisiana s marshes are being
destroyed and are suffering greatly because of humans. Grisham shows extensive
knowledge of the wetlands as well as the wildlife through discussing the endangered
Brown Pelican and how humans have brought it to the brink of extinction.
Numberless amounts of waterfowl, birds, and countless species that call Louisiana
home are now being terrorized thanks to non native species, humans and a numerous
amount of different causes. The Brown Pelican, Louisiana s state bird, has been
endangered until 1995, and about half of all the geese in North America spend the
winter in the coastal marshes (Elliott, Charles). Additionally, Louisiana is the
leading state for the number of wintering ducks (ВЁSGPВЁ). The marshes are
extremely important to the fowl that live there year round and for the ones that do
not. The Bobwhite Quail, that live there year round, have suffered huge losses to
their population. From 1966 they have declined 75%, primarily due to habitat
degradation (ВЁSGPВЁ). One of the reasons populations of fowl have been going
down is the result of invasive species. The common
Diversity Is The Equal Pay Act Of 1963 Essay
Diversity in Human resources Let s Completely Stop Discrimination against
women in the Workplace now that we have become more educated on how to
promote gender equality Writing in 1991 the historian Joan Hoff observed that the
legal status of women in the United States changed more rapidly in the last twenty
five years than in the previous two hundred. These legal changes were among
several sources for women s advancement in business after 1963. Some legal
change came from government actions. State laws and judicial decisions
increasingly supported the notion that women were entitled to the same rights and
opportunities as men. This legal change was the Equal Pay Act of 1963. Most
people think that gender equality is now common place in Western societies, but
research shows that gender equality, which gained momentum in the 1970s, has
since stalled, particularly when we look at class issues. Some issues have been hit
head on, issues relating to sexist job ads and some sexist behavior at work...but we
still have a long way to go. The wage gap between men and women is especially
concerning. American women who work full time, year round, are paid only 79 cents
for every dollar paid. It s long past time to close the gap. The wage gap is a harsh
reality for women, regardless of education and work experience and it only gets
worse as women s careers progress. The wage gap typically translates into more than
$10,000 per year in lost earnings for women. Wage differences
Redundant Storage Vs Backup Storage
Redundant Storage
Redundant Storage vs Backup
Redundant storage in the context of data storage usually refers to the use of
Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID). RAID is a set of disks which are
usually identical in specifications and when configured will divide or replicate the
data saved on them.
A backup is where a copy of the data is stored on the same disk or another location
and is the primary means for retrieval of data should the need arise (i.e. due to loss
of data or corruption).
The difference lies in the fact that RAID utilises multiple disks, which either
replicates or divides the data among them as opposed to storing a copy of the data on
a memory storage device as in the case of a backup. Backup has the capability of ...

In such a situation backup has the advantage in that it has the capability of being
stored off site.
One possible improvement to redundant storage is to change the configuration to
mirroring with the capability of being backed up off site.
Striping, Mirroring Parity
Striping in the context of RAID refers to data being split up among a group disks
(array). An analogy would be like cutting up strips on a piece of paper (with text on
it) and every odd line stored on one disk and every even line stored on another disk.
(Most commonly used in RAID 0.
Mirroring refers to the replication of logical disk volumes onto separate physical
hard disks in real time to ensure continuous availability. (Most commonly used in
RAID1)
Parity refers to a bit added to the end of a string of binary code that indicates
whether the number of bits in the string with the value one is even or odd. Parity is
the simplest form of error detecting code in data.
The benefit of striping is that more data can be fitted on the group of disks (array)
due to the fact that it is divided up rather than replicated on each disk.
The benefit of mirroring is that in the event of a system crash there is a much
greater chance of recovery due to the fact that an entire copy of the data is replicated
on each disk of the array.
Parity can be used for checking and repairing errors on
Manipulation In Rumpelstiltskin Spin
No matter what version of the Rumpelstiltskin tale you are reading the central
element of the story is spinning. Yet, what if there is another way to look at this term
spinning ? On a basic level spinning is the art of taking an object and manipulating it
into becoming something else. Not only does Rumpelstiltskin spin, or manipulate,
straw into gold, but nearly all of the characters spin lies for personal gain. In this
story no one acts without promise of reward. I intend to show through an in depth
analysis of the Grimm brothers final version of the tale that what is truly being spun
throughout the story is manipulation, particularly male manipulation of the female.
When closely examined the very first lines of the story foreshadow the power... Show

Now it happened that he got into conversation with the king, and to make an
impression on him he said, I have a daughter who can spin straw into gold . These
lines show that the Miller is the first character to manipulate the girl in order to
gain power. I have a daughter who can spin straw into gold . These are the first
words the Miller utters in the story. One will come to find that first words in this
story are quite telling. In fact, there are several things in these lines which merit
critical analysis. For example, we meet the primary characters (minus
Rumpelstiltskin of course), but none of them are actually given names. The
characters identities are presented to us in terms of their socioeconomic statuses.
The first character we are introduced to is the Miller. Now, millers were never
considered especially wealthy people, but the Grimms wanted to make sure that this
fact did not go unnoticed. So, not only do they identify him according to his meager
occupation, but they also explicitly define him as poor . This statement is then
followed with a negation, a but . The Miller is poor, but he has a beautiful daughter.
By introducing the daughter in this way the
Low Self Esteem
What is self esteem? Self esteem is how we perceive ourselves. How we evaluate
our self worth affects nearly every aspect of our lives. Low self esteem can
negatively affect our outlook on life and ourselves. Low self esteem can also cause
major psychological problems like anxiety and depression and may also cause mental
health issues. In this assignment, I will be summing up the information I gathered to
support the argument that low self esteemis a major cause of psychological problems.
William James wrote what is considered the most important book in the history of
modern day psychology. The Principles of Psychology. In one of James chapters he
explained that self esteem was recognized from the idea, identity. In discussing the
me self, James wrote of three different but connected parts of self: the material self
(all those parts of material existence in which we feel a strong sense of ownership,
our bodies, our families, the things we own), the social self (our felt social
relations), and our spiritual self (our feelings of our own (judging things based on
opinions and preferences instead of facts). These aspects were then treated in
terms of connected or related feelings of self worth and self looking actions. James
made three major additions to self explanation. He voiced that the way of thinking
of social selves ( a man has as many social selves because others have an image of
him as well) and characterized confidence as far as the proportion of victories to

Polymer Weight Averages And Molecular Distribution
Part:C A 1: Polymer weight averages and molecular distribution: There are two
types of molecular averages from which we can , the number average and weight
average, which can we calculate by knowing the number of molecules and that
weight fractions in the polymer. If we are given numbers of molecules with their
molecular weights. Then we can calculate number average molecular weight (Mn)
and weight average molecular weight (Mw). From that, we can get polydispersity
index and know it is monodispersed or not. Suppose, we are given number of
molecules (Ni) and molecular weight of those molecules (Mi), Number average

If PDI = 1 then mixture is homogeneous And if PDI 1 then mixture is heterogeneous
We can draw molecular weight distribution by taking the molecular weight (M) on
the X axis and Number of molecules (N) on Y axis or vice versa. Figure (1) is the
molecular weight distribution. Cross linking in polymer: When two or more
molecular chains chemically react with each other and make covalent bonds
between them which are called cross linking. It makes polymers high dense. Cross
linking decreases free volume, so it is difficult for molecular chains to spread out
which makes its Tg range broadened compared to amorphous polymers. Cross linking
prevents the polymer from melting and strengthens rigidity of polymers and provides
high tensile strength. Figure (2) shows the contrast
Sisterhood In Lucy Baker s The Coquette
The bond of female friendship is an important factor in the novel, especially since
Eliza finds herself lonely without the companion of a female friend who might
understand her plight; however, Eliza does not have a friend who understands her
perils. All of the people in her life, with the exception of her mother, find Eliza
beneath them. Eliza s thoughts and actions to some extent and helped the plot of novel
to grow in a significant manner. Baker states that the theme of sisterhood remains
prominent with Foster s work; however, the so called sisterhood is made up of petty,

Boyer is condescending and demonstrates her idea of an excellent partner (27).
Lucy, like most women at the time, found marriage to be a way of securing a
socially and financially affluent future; her description of Mr. Boyer, whose taste,
manners and morals, are highly regarded, supports the materialism of the time
period. Baker finds that The Coquette is considered a tragic novel in that it depicts
the seduction and fall of a young woman, and the reader can track the tragic
disintegration of Eliza Wharton against her flagging commitment to precision and
clarity in her language, her mode of self expression; however, it seems that Eliza
possesses the intelligence, as well as the sophistication to understand. Foster s
emphasis on the value of language alerts the reader to another movement in the novel,
one that the reader might celebrate: the voice of her society is awakened to its
compromised public voice regarding virtue, honor, and friendship. Eliza s queries on
language throughout the novel are ultimately shifted to her female circle, whose
members recognize the need for their language to reflect more clearly the reality of
their world (Baker,

Being calm and showing no sign of rage stratifies the trait of being lenient. Another
example that shows Mr.Pignati is lenient is when close friends, John and Lorraine,
visit him at St. Ambrose hospital in room 304 in chapter 11 while having a
conversation. In the text, it states, Lorraine fumbled in her pocketbook. We brought
you the keys, she said holding them out to him. You keep them he said. Maybe you
ll want to watch some television or have some more chocolate ants (115). The
average person doesn t just allow someone entrance into their home, even if said
person knows them, but Mr. Pignati does, and that portrays he is lenient.
Additionally, it s without fear giving them the keys, giving the sense Mr. Pignati is
calm, which just goes to show how lenient he truly is. Lorraine showing him the
keys as well and him not accepting illustrates he has blatant trust and is all for it. A
lenient person allows those rules to fly, while a strict person would have a lot of
hesitation, likely even denial of the house entrance. Overall, Mr. Pignati s ability to be
fine with everything and consider requests without hesitation portray him to be

The social dimension of PTSD can be explained by poor social support during

It is easy to critique in an obscure view what the repercussions of a truth commission
is doing wrong, especially when not being immersed in the reinventing environments
of which these truth commissions take place. Truth commissions are hard to

further enhance and better the lives of civilians, truth commissions as well as other
truth seeking initiatives. However, the documentation for truth telling does just as it
sounds. Measures such as these would be beneficial to cases similar to that of Haiti
and would improve the basis of truth telling. Restorative justice comes after the fact.

W.H. Auden s The Shield of Achilles and Musee des Beaux Arts encapsulate the

disillusionment when people can no longer put faith in science and technology, since
they have witnessed the catastrophe brought about by machines; nor can they rely on
their government, as totalitarianism has created a frigid world where nothingness

W.H. Auden still harbors a flicker of hope. Through the use of ekphrasis and other

As the functioning and disability of an individual occurs in a context, ICF also

The Biopsychosocial Model
Developed at Rochester by Drs. George Engel and John Romano. This approach
systematically examines biological, psychological and social factors and their
interactions in understanding health, illness and healthcare delivery (University of
Rochester Medical Centre, 2016).
It examines how and why disorders occur.
The WHO organisation state that health is a state of complete physical, mental and

Mason Buttle retells his story: how a learning disabled child struggles to make
friends and find himself in this crazy world. With a lamentable backstory, he
continues to persevere and be optimistic and eventually makes his second and only
current friend. Mystery continues to lurk around the vicinity, and it always leads
back to Mason.

What makes this book stand out from the rest is the cast of characters. Many
people in the world have probably experienced bullying to some extent, but it is
about what the bullies don t see. One might think that they are just playing a
harmless prank on someone less physically capable than themselves. However,
actions all have consequences, some a lot worse than others. True friends see past
the others bad qualities and appreciate the good ones. Victims of harassment like
this, or better yet, the ones who commit the unjust action, would enjoy a book like
this. They would enjoy it because of its relatability to the reader, and might really
make you think about the school system and why people do these things in the first
place. The Truth as Told by Mason Buttle appears nonfiction, which is an aspect that
makes it such a great
The Pros And Cons Of Government Surveillance
Typhoon, bomb, Mexico, subway, sick, drill, police, cloud. These are just some of
the words that can put you under the government s radar. It only takes one of these
words through a text message, a Facebook post, an Internet search, an email, the list
goes on. The government is relentless. Privacy means nothing to them. It is simply
another word in the dictionary. When one finds out that the NSA is able to view and
read every text they have ever sent, it makes them wonder what else they could be
doing. As I decided to read more about what the governmentdoes, I found that what
they re doing is actually against the law. According to an article by Edward Snowden,

Within a couple of minute you could find everything you need to know about a
person. From what psychological problems they suffer from to who they voted for in
the presidential election (Hoback). In the movie, Terms and Conditions May Apply,
Cullen Hoback finds the truth on how much the government actually has access to.
The truth is shocking. Almost as shocking as how much information we can gather
from the book by Ellen Alderman and Caroline Kennedy, The Right to Privacy. They
explain that our information is widespread all over, it just takes time to gather, but
anyone can get to it if they try hard enough. They are always
Pcaob Rules Of Public Accounting
PCAOB new rules
Public Company Accounting Oversight Board has implemented new rules to its
auditing standards which will provide financial statement users with information
about engagement partners and accounting firms that participate in audits of issuers.
After the final decision, all public accounting firms will be required to apply the new
rule for each issuer audit. According to PCAOB Release No. 2015 008, the three
disclosing issues includes: the name of the engagement partner; the name, location,
and extent of participation of each other accounting firm that took part in the audit
whose work constituted at least 5% of total audit hours; and the number and
aggregate extent of participation of all other accounting firms participating ... Show

This is problematic for financial statement users who rely on the information because
it does not identify any other firms who may have assisted. Additionally an audit
report is not providing full information about the engagement partner or the other
accounting firms that were involved in the audit reports. According to PCAOB s fact
sheet (2013), audit reports currently only release the name of the audit firm; presently
the users are unaware of whether the accounting firm or the engagement partner
issued the report (para.2). Therefore investors, creditors, and other financial statement
users don t know the engagement partner s name and extent of involvement of each
other accounting firm in the audit work. As researchers Carcello and Santore (2015)
have explained:
Audit partners are currently identifiable to select audiences such as other firm
personnel, client management, client board members, and, after the fact, to regulators
and securities class action attorneys. However, audit partners are not currently
identifiable to most investors, to the business press, and to society at large. (p.298).
Investors, creditors, and others financial report users do not have any way to know
individual engagement partners up until now, because all public firms disclose only
their auditor s and firm s name. When PCAOB has implemented new rules, investors,
creditors, and other financial
The History Of Mexican Cuisine
The history of Mexican cuisine tells a story about different regions having distinct
ways of cooking and choosing foods to eat. For instance, cooking teachers have
attempted to associate the date of origin of certain Mesoamerican foods to successive
rulers of Xochimilco, Xaopantzin (1379 1397) with the vegetable dish huauhtzontles,
Ozolt (1397 1411) with enchidalike chilaquiles, and Tilhuatzin (1437 1442) with herb
stuffed quiltamales (Pilcher, 139). The Revolution in Mexicois considered to be the
first social revolution of the time. With the primary cause being the 30 year
presidency of Porfirio DГaz, other reasons included the seizure of the property of
indigenous lands by wealthy hacendados and the growing inequality between the...

Additionally, everyone has a deep personal connection with the simple act of eating
because what one person prefers to eat might be different for another individual. As
individuals, we are each born into a culture that most likely has a cuisine different
from what others prefer or are accustomed to. All of our palates are distinctly
unique. To provide an example of the aforementioned, the Spanish invaded Mexico
in the 16th century, and they brought along with them their own kinds of foods, with
wheat holding a particular importance. The Spaniards made attempts so that
Mexicans too would have the same liking to wheat as they did, but the reality was
that Mexico had a strong attachment to corn. And while the introduction of wheat
caused corn to be thought of as nutrient deficient, Porfirian intellectual elites later
found that their maize was as equally healthy. It had always been tradition for the
people of Mexico to use corn for their meals. They used it in their diets, to make
tortillas and tamales, and they also preferred the taste of corn to the taste of wheat
anyways. Therefore, the superiority that wheat was thought to have versus corn was
not as great as was previously supposed. Mexico s traditional food did not remain the
same after influences of the Spanish, and even those of India and other regions, were
brought to the table. With
Flood and National Weather Service
A flash flood is a rapid flooding of geomorphic low lying areas washes, rivers, dry
lakes and basins. It may be caused by heavy rain associated with a storm,
hurricane, or tropical storm or melt water from ice or snow flowing over ice sheets
or snowfields. Flash floods can also occur after the collapse of a natural ice or
debris dam, or a human structure such as a man made dam, as occurred before the
Johnstown Floodof 1889. Flash floods are distinguished from a regular flood by a
timescale less than six hours. The temporary availability of water is often utilized by
plants with rapid germination and short growth cycle, and by specially adapted
animal life.

The floods were caused by the eighth heaviest ever recorded 24 hour rainfall figure
of 994 mm (39.1 inches) which lashed the metropolis on 26 July 2005, and
intermittently continued for the next day. 644 mm (25.4 inches) was received
within the 12 hr period between 8am and 8pm. Torrential rainfall continued for the
next week. The highest 24 hour period in India was 1,168 mm (46.0 inches) in
Aminidivi in the Union Territory of Lakshadweep on 6 May 2004 although some
reports suggest that it was a new Indian record. The previous record high rainfall in a
24 hour period for Mumbai was 575 mm (22.6 inches) in 1974.
Other places to be severely affected were Raigad, Chiplun, Khed, Ratnagiri and
Kalyan in Maharashtra and the southern state of Goa.
The rains slackened between the 28 July and 30 July but picked up in intensity on
July 31. The Maharashtra state government declared 27 and 28 as a state holiday
for the affected regions. The government also ordered all schools in the affected
areas to close on August 1 and August 2. Mumbai Police commissioner Anami
Narayan Roy requested all residents to stay indoors as far as possible on July 31
after heavy rains disrupted the city once again, grounding all flights for the day.
Overview
Thousands of school children were stranded due to flooding and could not reach
home for up to 24 hours.
John Steinbeck Dbq
Sin is something that is beneath all people. No matter the race, gender, or age. It is
even in the most innocent families. In the Pearl, John Steinbeck uses similes,
symbolism, and characterization to show the reader that the obsession with money is
the biggest sin a family.
In the pearl, Steinbeck uses similes to develop the challenge the character faces.
This pearl is like a sin! It will destroy us, (Steinbeck 50) Juana says this soon after
the interference with burglars. She sensed the power of the pearl then. It was gaining
power over Kino, in a sense that was now beyond the good he wanted to come out

He shows that the pearl is corruptive by showing what it could do to a family. The
pearl is betrayed as evil. Not only did it break a family apart but also it caused for
death to arise. The pearl brought evil when bringing burglars, hoax, and fake
people. The priest and the Doc. both seemed to turn onto the good side with Kino
as soon as they found out he had the pearl of all time. People started breaking in,
messed Kino s canoe and even set Kino s house on fire. And worse, with everything
that was already being taken away, Kino s beloved son was shot and killed. And
then Kino s brain cleared from its red concentration and he knew the sound the
keening, moaning, rising hysterical cry from the little cave in the side of the stone
mountain, the cry of death (86) All shortly happening after the finding of the pearl.

Prometheus s Use Of Sacrifice In Roman Sacrifice
Among the various significant events whether in daily life, calendar festivals, or
spectacular victories, an element of religious dining throughout emphasized the
Roman people s aptitude to include their gods in every aspect of their lives.
Different forms of offering could be arranged depending on the occasion or elements
associated with that god; some deities required a specific ritualin order to please their
being and align with the needs of the people. The benefits of contributing to such
divine auspices were mutual; by offering a proper sacrifice, the believer provided
compensation and in return, initiated contact with a higher power. Through the
offering of an animal, the Romans appealed to their gods as a commitment and in
return, were... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ironically, the gods didn t actually need sustenance through nourishment immortal
Roman deities lived through ambrosia and nectar, not bread, wine and meat . Food
was the medium Romans used even though the gods did not require nourishment
because it had metaphorical meaning, as it was a necessity for their own existence.
By giving up the first of their crops or livestock the person gave back to the gods in
their blessing with thankfulness, inquiry, and divine blessing. A cycle similar to this
existed in many forms of Roman religion, but the present of life giving nourishment
gave humans the opportunity to connect with the divinities The Roman people
related to food and drink in terms of both nutritional and religious sustenance; how
they treated these two functions was represented in various forms in their artwork.
Sacrificial scenes are found in plenty throughout the empire, for traditional and cult
deities alike. Banquet scenes are also frequent in nature; they show that food and
dining was of general significance even without a religious

This lead to a lot of frustration within her, when her trainees did not perform as well
as expected. This was because their failure undermined her own performance. This
phenomenon is explored in the 1975 paper by Julian B Rotter titled Some Problems
and Misconceptions Related to the Construct of Internal Versus External Control of
Reinforcement which aims to challenge the notion that having a strong internal locus
of control is always the better option of the two. The article states that the context of
the events and subsequent outcomes that the locus of control is being applied to
determines wether or not it is most beneficial to have an internal or external locus of
control(Rotter, 1975). In the case of events where the person has limited control over
the outcome of a situation due to many fluctuating external variables such as a doctor
trying to treat mutating virus or a manger being held accountable for the actions of a
noncompliant subordinate, it is imperative for a person to exercise a locus of control
geared closer towards that of an external locus of control. This prevents them from
over burdening themselves with factors they cannot
Jean Barnes Research Paper
The owner of the objects in the old suitcase was named Jean Barnes. Mrs.Barnes died
just a few weeks ago in her sleep at the age of ninety five. Before she died,
Mrs.Barnes was a quiet and melancholy old woman with hair as white as snow. She
walked slowly and was always a bit hunched over. She was once tall, but her figure
had shrunk over the years until she was a petite and frail looking woman. Once upon
a time she was lively young woman with hair of auburn and an easy smile. Her
husband Arthur Barnes had died fifteen years before her and she had never quite
recovered from his death. She was a woman of solitude and lived alone in the house
she bought with her husband. She was stubborn and refused to leave the house that

Women s Reproductive Rights and Freedoms
Women s reproductive rights are legal rights and freedoms pertaining to reproduction
and reproductive health. One can expect reproductive rights to include the following
topics: the right to birth control, the right to legal abortion, the right to education and
access so that properly informed choices can be made and the right to access good
quality reproductive healthcare. The women s reproductive rightsand freedoms
movement move far beyond the topic of the abortionmovement alone, there are also
debates that include forced sterilizationabuse and population control when looking at
the subject of reproductive rights. Throughout history, women have had their right to
abortion taken away and have even been sterilized without their permission because
they were mentally handicapped or just because they were not the dominant race
because eugenicists wanted greater procreation by the middle class women of
European descent. Women have had to endure an abundant amount of abuse to their
reproductive rights and freedoms, from having their right to abortion taken away to
being wrongfully sterilized; women have had to fight for their rights that should have
never been abused in the first place. This term paper will outline the history of the
reproductive rights movement, the abortion movement, as well as discuss how
women have been wrongfully forced into sterilization.
In the past, women have had to use an astonishingly large variety of fertility control
methods, which allowed
Technological Surveillance
The Surveillance Society, by Adam Penenburg explains the impact that the attacks on
September 11th, 2001 had on usage of technological surveillance of the American
people. Penenburg writes that the assault on U.S. soil caused a great shift between
privacy and policy causing a bill to be signed into law granting the governmenteasier
access into our emails, web history, and even phone calls. Even with all the
surveillance, Penenburg claims that people could care less because in a time of
turmoil because they care deeply about safety. Surveillance can be used to convict
criminals, stop car thieves, and prevent terrorism. The constant surveillance increases
the amount of information available on every single person but is extremely difficult

He begins the article by mentioning September 11th, a tragic time in America s
history that every citizen in the United States can relate to and uses this to allow a
smooth transition into his main topic about the evolution of the surveillance
society. Here he follows a very subtle pattern making the article an easy read for the
audience. He first mentions a type of surveillance that is commonly used, then
explains how it is used or what it is used for, and then follows up with a relatable
example for the audience to consider and contemplate. For example, Penenburg
writes about a famous service developed by General Motors called OnStar. OnStar
is service that offers GPS and location services for their vehicles. He uses an
example of how a man had his car stolen and immediately called OnStar. Within
minutes, officers swooped in on the vehicle and arrested the men (Penenburg 472).
This is a prime example of Penenburg s great organization of his article, not only
does he use this with GPS locating, but tracking metro cards, credit cards, cameras,
and the protection of the 4th amendment. His great organization gives the article a
nice flow that the reader feels comfortable with allowing them to be persuaded further
into agreeing with him that a surveillance society offers many benefits. Not only is
Penenburg s article well organized
Examples Of Pathetic Fallacy In Whale Rider
Good Morning Year 8, I am Niki Caro and I have been asked to come in and talk
about my movie Whale Rider . Whale Rider is a culturally significant movie
showing the power of one 12 year old girl, Pai. Pai lives in a patriarchal society
meaning only the first born male is allowed to become chief. This tradition is
broken when the next chief in line dies at birth but his twin sister Pai survives. Pai
believes in her self and try s to persuade her traditional grandfather into becoming
chief.
Paikea is rehearsing a chant along the road. Later on that night she is to be
performing it in Whare Whakairo. I decided to put Paikea practicing her chant on
the road as it shows a cultural significance to her ancestors, the whales. Paikea is on
a journey to Whare Whakairo and her ancestor the Whale Rider, also named Paikea,
was on a journey from Hawaiki to a new land. ... Show more content on

This is starting with Paikea on the whale and zooming out to show the setting of
Whare Whakairo and the gloomy clouds above. This can be considered a pathetic
fallacy. A pathetic fallacy usually symbolizes that something bad is going to
happen soon. The dark gloomy clouds and sky are dark and when we see dark
images it usually signifies something weird or scary will happen. In this case we
have Paikea singing the Haka she was practicing on the road and along comes
Hemi. Hemi is behind the whale and a misfortune happens. Mostly everyone in the
crowd starts to laugh. However Pai and Koro show that they are responsible and
don t. Koro taps his walking stick on the ground to get everyone s attention so Pai
can continue. The connection between Koro and Pai is very strong here as we can
see that both Pai and Koro are leadership
Bonheur De Vivre And Demoiselles D Avignon
Matisse s, Bonheur de Vivre and Picasso s, Demoiselles d Avignon both compare
very favorable with Paul CГ©zanne s, The Large Bathers. As the question indicates
they are both inspired by Cezanne and yet transcend Cezanne. All of these paintings
contain some sort of nudity and are sexualized in some way by it, but in all of these
paintings the sensual nature does not define nor does it limit the painting. In fact I d
argue that they all share a common theme of transcending the artistic rules of their
time.
Cezanne s painting, The bathers depicts a large group of women bathers, and even
though we are asked to look at the finished product I really like to go back and see
the earlier versions of the painting and watch how Cezanne changed it ... Show more

While I think Matisse painting builds on the feel of Cezanne s work I think Pablo
s painting really takes Cezanne s concepts to a new level. I have always felt like all
of these paintings are saying something deeper than their imagery lets on but
Piccasso s, Demoiselles d Avignon really has something to get off it s chest.
Cezanne created a scene for us to look at and maybe understand while Picasso s
created a play for us to exist in and maybe understand later. From the limited colors
to the uses of hard angles this painting really does a great job of both mirroring and
transcending Cezanne
In conclusion it is clear that Cezanne was a master at his style and it s also clear
that his painting held a lure over both Picasso s and Matisse. Although I do feel as
though Pablo s painting captures more of the original than Matisse. Even with that
being said both of these artist elaborated on and arguable improved upon Cezanne s
concepts. While it s always tough comparing one work of art to another I think all
three artist would enjoy being compared to each

  • 2. How The Gospel Changed My Life It s truly been an interesting week, and typically it is for me. Never a dull moment when you re on the move sixteen hours a day and always doing something. I ve had many opportunities to share bits of what I believe to be true and know to be right, as well as information about the gospel with my customers as I go door to door selling Dish TV (Network). It s amazing how in the simplest conversation so many things can come up and so many truths can be shared. For example, as a missionary, you have a goal in mind to share the gospeland to teach with the power and authority given to you by God and his Prophets which he has called. Yet, as a return mission who attends Brigham Young UniversityIdaho, I have found it very hard to share my testimony... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At first, it was daunting and very demanding I felt I had to be the best I can be. Yet, I have talked with each of them about the gospel and they are open and hear me out. I think they see the difference and respect it and may have a desire to learn more. Three of the guys, Alexis, Calvin, and James are the ones who have really paid the most attention. They don t swear around me, they don t offer me things that would go contrary to what I believe. I had an experience last night after a long day s work, that was amazing. They asked me why I would give two years of my life to serve a mission and get rejected and set myself to just a tedious schedule. My only answer to them was this, Because it s true, the gospel is true . Which lead on to me sharing a little of my conversion story when I was twenty years old. I love, love, love sharing the gospel and last night I realized how blessed I am to be able to do it word and deed. Every single day for the rest of the summer. Not only with these three guys but with everyone I meet. It also had built the relationship between us guys in the office stronger, we are more of a team and a brotherhood. (See Appendix A for diagrams the school psychologist draw during this part of the conversation). The process we use is called RTI. All students start with the universal screening (MAP, DIBELS, DRA, DSA). If the score is at or above benchmark, the instruction continues as followed. If not, the intervention implemented and progress monitoring occurs. If the student gets at or above benchmark with the interventions implemented, the student graduates to the regular instruction. If not, an RTI grade level meeting occurs to check progress. Then it is decided to intensify or adjust an intervention that was already in place. From here, a student can graduate or an SPMC (student progress monitoring conference) takes place to take an individual problem solving approach. To this meeting attend parent(s), teachers, principal, psychologist, and any other team member necessary. From this meeting, an intervention is designed for the specific child and others factors may be addressed as well (home environment, etc.). Progress is monitor again and the student may graduate. If not, a disability may be suspected and there may be the need to assess more. A consent for evaluation is needed prior to testing the student. Parents need to be on board with the

The CAR, located in central Africa, is currently the scene of some of the most atrocious human right violations. The landlocked country extending on 622,984 square kilometres neighbours countries such as Chad, Sudan, South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), the Republic of Congo and Cameroon. Likewise, the religious composition is a diverse one with 25% of the population being Protestant, 25% Roman Catholics, 15% Muslims and 35% indigenous beliefs followers. Since the independence from France in 1960, the CAR has been sinking deeper into poverty, corruption and political instability. Glass Ball And The Law Of Attraction Glass Ball An idealist is a person who is guided more by ideals than by practical consideration; In other word, an idealist realizes that he or she can create there own world. Perception, ideals, and beliefs are what make people failures or successful ; coincidentally, the definition of success and failure is also a perception. Diving deeper into this mysterious theory or fact, beliefs people have ultimately control what actions they take on a daily basis. An example of this, using a common fear with an estimation of 75% of people has, would be the glossophobia, also known as the fear of public speaking. If a person believed that public speaking is frightening and could ruin their reputation, then most likely he or she will avoid public speaking; conversely, if that same person believed that public speaking is fun and easy, they may be more inclined to giving a public speech without hesitation. • 8. How Do I Love Thee Poem Analysis Essay Macee Trecek Dr. Hebert English Comp. II 28 March 2011 Poem Analysis In How do I love thee by Elizabeth Barrett Browning. I believe that the person talking is professing about a kind of love that can stand the test of time. You know that kind of love. Every day and moment is cherished by both. Each person knows almost everything about each other and they have been together for what would seem like forever. It is very rare these days to see a younger generation finding that love. Suddenly they have to live their life like they may be gone the next day and the day they are living in is their last day on this earth. There is a fire sparked in their life and everything that they do suddenly matters to them. Even the little things they do for a daily routine, such as brushing their hair in the morning or picking out an outfit the night before for the day to come. He could very well be trying to express this kind of love for her by stating it in the poem. Maybe he already does that and he wants to share it with the world. Like the fact that every little thing that she does may mean something to him and may put him in a state of awe. Or in the same sense he could be showing the world that he cares for her because he finds the little things in life that could make her happy. Toward the end of the poem it also states that he loves this woman with his childhood s faith. I think what he means is that he loves her like a child would. Looking back, as a child, nothing really mattered. Everyone that you knew shared what they had with hardly any questions asked. Your parents were the coolest people you that you knew. You could roam free with mismatched clothes and shoes and no one would care and you could just play and everyone was nice to you no matter the color of your skin, how much money your parents made or where you were from. I believe that the author of this poem is trying to convey that the speaker has this kind of thinking

Psychodynamic Approach Case Studies There are useful observations based on understanding of Adaptive Leadership, Psychodynamic Approach, and Team Leadership as they apply to the leadership of Friendship Baptist Church. The theoretical study of the application of these theories offer some informative data sets. Applying Adaptive Leadership to the Case Study Adaptive learning involves the awareness of the organization dynamic and the member needs as well. The leadership dynamic involves the assessment of needs and the best ways to meet those needs within organization. Adaptive Leadership provides the understanding, skills, and support that we need to do two things well: distinguish what s essential from what s expendable and innovate in ways that dovetail with those essentials. In the case of Friendship Baptist Church, the leadership of the organization has become stagnant and ineffective. The epic of Beowulf is about a great Geat that defeats the horrid Grendel of Denmark. The story, Once and Future King, is about the great King Arthur and how he became king and his reign in England. Beowulf is a fearless leader that defeats great monsters and deadly giants. Later in his life he defeats Grendel, Grendel s mother, and a dragon. King Arthur was the outcast in his family; he did not fit in as a child. As he grows older, his tutor Merlyn teaches him about different values in life. King Arthur, formally known as Wart, becomes king when he pulls the famous sword from the stone. Both Beowulf and King Arthur shared many traits that made them epic heros. Courage is a trait shared by Beowulf and King Arthur or Wart . Beowulf showed courage through the many battles he fought . Beowulf went to Heorot in hopes of defeating Grendel, the monster that had been attacking Herot for the last twelve years. This was courageous because he knew that he could be killed, but he fought anyway because that s what he needed to do. Wart showed courage when he pulled the sword out of the stone. He did not want to be King of England, let alone at such a young age. He wanted to put the sword back in the stone or let someone else become King. Wart was courageous and became King because he knew that was his duty. These examples show that courage

The True Effects Of A Living Wage MANT 250 An Essay Discussing the True Effects of a Living Wage Dylan Gallagher 8136645 Word Count: 1906 Introduction It has been 20 years since the first living wage was introduced in Baltimore, Maryland. Long has it been argued that profitable organizations should have to pay a living wage to its employees. A wage sufficient enough to allow the employee to have a high enough standard of living to adequately take care of their family. The gap between social statuses is increasing even more, and having a living wage in place will help to reduce this gap in society, enabling those at the lower end of the economic spectrum to enjoy more luxuries that they would not usually have access to. Some key discussion points that need to be addressed are; possible job losses, reduction of poverty level, the effect on crime, health care effects, reducing urban poverty, and the varying costs of living that occur depending in different geographic locations. In this essay I will be debating the thesis of profitable organizations should be required to pay all their employees a living wage. What is a Living Wage? According to the Collins English Dictionary a living wage is a wage adequate to permit a wage earner to live and support a family in reasonable comfort . The Treasury Report released by the New Zealand government states this wage to be $18.40 an hour. By their calculations this wage is what is required by a family of two adults and two children. The living

Analysis Of The Article The Pelican Brief The Wetlands In Grisham s novel, The Pelican Brief, he presents a case where an organization attempts to protect the coastal marshes of Louisiana against the selfish oil companies and citizens that wish to destroy it for money. This is a tremendous concern that people deal with in America. John Grisham wrote The Pelican Brief, in 1992 and it was one of his best selling books. Louisiana s marshes are being destroyed and are suffering greatly because of humans. Grisham shows extensive knowledge of the wetlands as well as the wildlife through discussing the endangered Brown Pelican and how humans have brought it to the brink of extinction. Numberless amounts of waterfowl, birds, and countless species that call Louisiana home are now being terrorized thanks to non native species, humans and a numerous amount of different causes. The Brown Pelican, Louisiana s state bird, has been endangered until 1995, and about half of all the geese in North America spend the winter in the coastal marshes (Elliott, Charles). Additionally, Louisiana is the leading state for the number of wintering ducks (ВЁSGPВЁ). The marshes are extremely important to the fowl that live there year round and for the ones that do not. The Bobwhite Quail, that live there year round, have suffered huge losses to their population. From 1966 they have declined 75%, primarily due to habitat degradation (ВЁSGPВЁ). One of the reasons populations of fowl have been going down is the result of invasive species. The common

Diversity Is The Equal Pay Act Of 1963 Essay Diversity in Human resources Let s Completely Stop Discrimination against women in the Workplace now that we have become more educated on how to promote gender equality Writing in 1991 the historian Joan Hoff observed that the legal status of women in the United States changed more rapidly in the last twenty five years than in the previous two hundred. These legal changes were among several sources for women s advancement in business after 1963. Some legal change came from government actions. State laws and judicial decisions increasingly supported the notion that women were entitled to the same rights and opportunities as men. This legal change was the Equal Pay Act of 1963. Most people think that gender equality is now common place in Western societies, but research shows that gender equality, which gained momentum in the 1970s, has since stalled, particularly when we look at class issues. Some issues have been hit head on, issues relating to sexist job ads and some sexist behavior at work...but we still have a long way to go. The wage gap between men and women is especially concerning. American women who work full time, year round, are paid only 79 cents for every dollar paid. It s long past time to close the gap. The wage gap is a harsh reality for women, regardless of education and work experience and it only gets worse as women s careers progress. The wage gap typically translates into more than $10,000 per year in lost earnings for women. Wage differences

Redundant Storage Vs Backup Storage Redundant Storage Redundant Storage vs Backup Redundant storage in the context of data storage usually refers to the use of Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID). RAID is a set of disks which are usually identical in specifications and when configured will divide or replicate the data saved on them. A backup is where a copy of the data is stored on the same disk or another location and is the primary means for retrieval of data should the need arise (i.e. due to loss of data or corruption). The difference lies in the fact that RAID utilises multiple disks, which either replicates or divides the data among them as opposed to storing a copy of the data on a memory storage device as in the case of a backup. Backup has the capability of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In such a situation backup has the advantage in that it has the capability of being stored off site. One possible improvement to redundant storage is to change the configuration to mirroring with the capability of being backed up off site. Striping, Mirroring Parity Striping in the context of RAID refers to data being split up among a group disks (array). An analogy would be like cutting up strips on a piece of paper (with text on it) and every odd line stored on one disk and every even line stored on another disk. (Most commonly used in RAID 0. Mirroring refers to the replication of logical disk volumes onto separate physical hard disks in real time to ensure continuous availability. (Most commonly used in RAID1) Parity refers to a bit added to the end of a string of binary code that indicates whether the number of bits in the string with the value one is even or odd. Parity is the simplest form of error detecting code in data. The benefit of striping is that more data can be fitted on the group of disks (array) due to the fact that it is divided up rather than replicated on each disk. The benefit of mirroring is that in the event of a system crash there is a much greater chance of recovery due to the fact that an entire copy of the data is replicated on each disk of the array. Parity can be used for checking and repairing errors on

Low self esteem can also cause major psychological problems like anxiety and depression and may also cause mental health issues. In this assignment, I will be summing up the information I gathered to support the argument that low self esteemis a major cause of psychological problems. William James wrote what is considered the most important book in the history of modern day psychology. The Principles of Psychology. In one of James chapters he explained that self esteem was recognized from the idea, identity. In discussing the me self, James wrote of three different but connected parts of self: the material self (all those parts of material existence in which we feel a strong sense of ownership, our bodies, our families, the things we own), the social self (our felt social relations), and our spiritual self (our feelings of our own (judging things based on opinions and preferences instead of facts). These aspects were then treated in terms of connected or related feelings of self worth and self looking actions. James made three major additions to self explanation. He voiced that the way of thinking of social selves ( a man has as many social selves because others have an image of him as well) and characterized confidence as far as the proportion of victories to

If we are given numbers of molecules with their molecular weights. Then we can calculate number average molecular weight (Mn) and weight average molecular weight (Mw). From that, we can get polydispersity index and know it is monodispersed or not. Suppose, we are given number of molecules (Ni) and molecular weight of those molecules (Mi), Number average molecular weight Weight average molecular weight Polydispersity index (PDI) = If PDI = 1 then mixture is homogeneous And if PDI 1 then mixture is heterogeneous We can draw molecular weight distribution by taking the molecular weight (M) on the X axis and Number of molecules (N) on Y axis or vice versa. Virtual Network Architecture For Cloud Computing Essay Sangeeta Wankhade, Dipti Patil Information Technology, Mumbai University Pillai Institute Of Information Technology Mumbai, India sangeeta.wankhade@vpt.edu.in, dpatil@mes.ac.in пЂ Green Virtual Networks for Cloud Computing Abstract Information and communication technology (ICT) profoundly impact on environment because of its large amount of CO2 emissions. In the past years, the research field of green and low power consumption is of great importance for both service/network providers and equipment manufacturers. An emerging technology called cloud computing can increase the utilization and efficiency of hardware equipment. It can potentially reduce the global CO2 emission. In this paper, we propose a virtual network architecture for cloud computing. In this paper Modified best fit decreasing algorithm (MBFD) is discuss for reduce the energy consumption . This paper presents a methodology for power and energy reduction in general purpose microprocessors, which is known as dynamic voltage frequency scaling (DVFS). The DVFS technique can be considered as an effective mechanism for reducing processor power and energy. In the last decade a lot of works have been done during the hardware and software implementation. In this paper a proposed control loop of DVFS technique has been introduced. The objective is to build a green virtual network in cloud computing. Keywords Cloud computing, Virtualization, DVFS, PABFD INTRODUCTION Cloud computing is an evolving technology

As individuals, we are each born into a culture that most likely has a cuisine different from what others prefer or are accustomed to. All of our palates are distinctly unique. To provide an example of the aforementioned, the Spanish invaded Mexico in the 16th century, and they brought along with them their own kinds of foods, with wheat holding a particular importance. The Spaniards made attempts so that Mexicans too would have the same liking to wheat as they did, but the reality was that Mexico had a strong attachment to corn. And while the introduction of wheat caused corn to be thought of as nutrient deficient, Porfirian intellectual elites later found that their maize was as equally healthy. It had always been tradition for the people of Mexico to use corn for their meals. They used it in their diets, to make tortillas and tamales, and they also preferred the taste of corn to the taste of wheat anyways. Therefore, the superiority that wheat was thought to have versus corn was not as great as was previously supposed. Mexico s traditional food did not remain the same after influences of the Spanish, and even those of India and other regions, were brought to the table. With

Here he follows a very subtle pattern making the article an easy read for the audience. He first mentions a type of surveillance that is commonly used, then explains how it is used or what it is used for, and then follows up with a relatable example for the audience to consider and contemplate. For example, Penenburg writes about a famous service developed by General Motors called OnStar. OnStar is service that offers GPS and location services for their vehicles. He uses an example of how a man had his car stolen and immediately called OnStar. Within minutes, officers swooped in on the vehicle and arrested the men (Penenburg 472). This is a prime example of Penenburg s great organization of his article, not only does he use this with GPS locating, but tracking metro cards, credit cards, cameras, and the protection of the 4th amendment. His great organization gives the article a nice flow that the reader feels comfortable with allowing them to be persuaded further into agreeing with him that a surveillance society offers many benefits.
