This study examined the effects of progressive weight gain on the development of atrial fibrillation (AF) in sheep. Sheep were fed a high calorie diet to induce obesity over 8 months while controls maintained normal weight. Cardiac imaging, electrophysiological testing, histology, and molecular analysis were performed at baseline, 4 months, and 8 months. The results showed that increasing weight was associated with larger left atrial size, more atrial fibrosis, inflammation and lipid deposits. Weight gain also reduced conduction velocity, increased conduction heterogeneity and AF inducibility. Molecular markers of fibrosis increased with greater adiposity. Therefore, progressive obesity leads to structural and electrical remodeling in the atria that promotes the development of AF.

Previous research work has highlighted that neuro-signals of Alzheimer’s disease patients are least complex and have low synchronization as compared to that of healthy and normal subjects. The changes in EEG signals of Alzheimer’s subjects start at early stage but are not clinically observed and detected. To detect these abnormalities, three synchrony measures and wavelet-based features have been computed and studied on experimental database. After computing these synchrony measures and wavelet features, it is observed that Phase Synchrony and Coherence based features are able to distinguish between Alzheimer’s disease patients and healthy subjects. Support Vector Machine classifier is used for classification giving 94% accuracy on experimental database used. Combining, these synchrony features and other such relevant features can yield a reliable system for diagnosing the Alzheimer’s disease.

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is one of the most widespread respiratory diseases today. Complete or relative breathing cessations due to upper airway subsidence during sleep is OSA. It has confirmed potential influence on Covid-19 hospitalization and mortality, and is strongly associated with major comorbidities of severe Covid-19 infection. Un-diagnosed OSA may also lead to a variety of severe physical and mental side-effects. To score OSA severity, nocturnal sleep monitoring is performed under defined protocols and standards called polysomnography (PSG). This method is time-consuming, expensive, and requiring professional sleep technicians. Automatic home-based detection of OSA is welcome and in great demand. It is a fast and effective way for referring OSA suspects to sleep clinics for further monitoring. On-line OSA detection also can be a part of a closed-loop automatic control of the OSA therapeutic/assistive devices. In this paper, several solutions for online OSA detection are introduced and tested on 155 subjects of three different databases. The best combinational solution uses mutual information (MI) analysis for selecting out of ECG and SpO2-based features. Several methods of supervised and unsupervised machine learning are employed to detect apnoeic episodes. To achieve the best performance, the most successful classifiers in four different ternary combination methods are used. The proposed configurations exploit limited use of biological signals, have online working scheme, and exhibit uniform and acceptable performance (over 85%) in all the employed databases. The benefits have not been gathered all together in the previous published methods.

The purpose of this project is to evaluate the use of sEMG in the practical context and to translate the given context to the appropriate analysis. The sEMG are used on the athletes while they are running and respective results are being noted. By using this technique our project wishes to implement an android iOS application to calculate the corresponding values which are being noted by the particular device which we have been made. The signals which are being given by the device is converted into the appropriate percentage values or graphs which can be determined into giving a complete overview about the person whom he is checking and can suggest the diets and exercises to make that person fit to the expectations. This software is mainly look forward for the development of the future athletes which can win the prizes. This platform provides immense forms of diets which are based on the values or results which have been depicted. Performance analysis in sports is considered to be an integral component of understanding the requirements of the optimal performance. Several measurement techniques have been used to inspect the performance of the best athletes today. it is mostly commonly done in laboratory where physiology and bio mechanics can be analyzed. in this system first, the coaches conduct a study about the agility, strength and nutrition of the excellent players of the country. Then the coaches of the respective clubs or the schools check each and every student's physical condition and compare with the stored data in order to train them. The purpose of this paper is to propose an approach of re-organizing input data to recognize emotion based on short signal segments and increase the quality of emotional recognition using physiological signals. MIT's long physiological signal set was divided into two new datasets, with shorter and overlapped segments. Three different classification methods (support vector machine, random forest, and multilayer perceptron) were implemented to identify eight emotional states based on statistical features of each segment in these two datasets. By re-organizing the input dataset, the quality of recognition results was enhanced. The random forest shows the best classification result among three implemented classification methods, with an accuracy of 97.72% for eight emotional states, on the overlapped dataset. This approach shows that, by re-organizing the input dataset, the high accuracy of recognition results can be achieved without the use of EEG and ECG signals.

Moreover, we used numerous number of statistical moments features. Existing approaches are implemented on few statistical moments with respect to time and frequency. Our proposed system will give the way to find out the seizure-effected part of the brain very easily using TDS, FDS, Correlation and Graph presentation. The resultant value will give the huge difference between normal and seizure effected brain. It also explore the hidden features of the brain.

The decreases in blood flow were significantly greater in winter than summer, but decreases in systemic pressure were not different between seasons. Cats exposed to 3 days of darkness before serotonin injection experienced greater decreases in blood flow compared to light-exposed cats, while systemic pressure changes were similar. The findings suggest the photoperiod may affect the sensitivity of cerebral vessels to serotonin in cats.
