Ergonomics (or human factors) is the scientific discipline concerned with the understanding of interactions among humans and other elements of a system, and the profession that applies theory, principles, data and methods to design to optimize human well-being and overall system performance.
A detailed presentation showing the risk factors of desk work, the cause for development of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) or Repetitive Stress Injuries (RSIs) and the role of ergonomics in prevention and management of the same. The rationale to inculcate office ergonomics to save the incidental and non incidental costs plus to improve efficiency. Desk work is the cause for most physical ailments experienced by the worker and it is beyond the physical aches and pains. The symptoms of indigestion, difficulty in breathing, obesity, cramps on and off, pelvic problems or any symptom than is not diagnosed can all be attributed to various dimensions of desk work and primarily sitting.
Physiotherapy helps to restore movement and function when someone is affected by injury, illness or disability. It can also help to reduce your risk of injury or illness in the future.
Purpose:
The Purpose of this webinar is to bring awareness about Physiotherapy.
Ergonomics can roughly be defined as the study of people in their working environment.
scientific discipline concerned with the understanding of interactions among humans and other elements of a system, and the profession that applies theory, principles and methods to design to optimize overall human performance.”
Improves job process by eliminating unnecessary tasks, steps and efforts.
Reduce potential for overexertion injury.
Minimize mental/physical fatigue potential.
Leverage workers’ skills & knowledge .The objective is to improve the efficiency of operation by taking into account a typical person’s size, strength, speed, visual activity and physiological stresses such as fatigue, speed of decision making, and demands on memory and perception.
To maximize productivity while lowering the risk of musculoskeletal disorders(MSDs).MSDs develop as a result of long term exposure to a combination of ergonomic risk factors such as repetition, high forces and awkward postures.
Courier management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
It is now-a-days very important for the people to send or receive articles like imported furniture, electronic items, gifts, business goods and the like. People depend vastly on different transport systems which mostly use the manual way of receiving and delivering the articles. There is no way to track the articles till they are received and there is no way to let the customer know what happened in transit, once he booked some articles. In such a situation, we need a system which completely computerizes the cargo activities including time to time tracking of the articles sent. This need is fulfilled by Courier Management System software which is online software for the cargo management people that enables them to receive the goods from a source and send them to a required destination and track their status from time to time.
Water scarcity is the lack of fresh water resources to meet the standard water demand. There are two type of water scarcity. One is physical. The other is economic water scarcity.

2. What Is ERGONOMICS ? ? ?
• Ergonomics is derived from two Greek words:
ergon, meaning work; and nomoi, meaning
natural laws.
• Thus ergonomics means the science of work and
a person’s relationship to that work.
• Ergonomics is the science of making things comfy.
It also makes things efficient.
• Ergonomists study work, how work is done and
how to work better.
• Ergonomics is commonly thought of in terms of
products. But it can be equally useful in the
design of services or processes.
3. What is comfort ?
• Physical comfort : If you do not like to touch an item you won't. If
you do not touch it you will not operate it. If you do not operate it,
then it is useless.
• The utility of an item is the only true measure of the quality of its
design.
• The mental aspect of comfort in the human-machine interface is
found in feedback.
What is efficiency?
• Efficiency is quite simply making something easier to do.
• Reducing the strength required makes a process more physically
efficient.
• Reducing the number of parts makes repairs more efficient.
4. Types of ergonomics :
• Physical ergonomics: the science of designing user
interaction with equipment and workplaces to fit the
user.
• Cognitive ergonomics is concerned with mental
processes, such as perception, memory, reasoning, and
motor response, as they affect interactions among
humans and other elements of a system.
• Organizational ergonomics is concerned with the
optimization of socio-technical systems, including their
organizational structures, policies, and processes
5. Principles of ergonomics :
1. Work in Neutral Postures.
2. Reduce Excessive Force.
3. Keep Everything in Easy
Reach.
4. Work at Proper Heights.
5. Reduce Excessive Motions.
6. Move, Exercise, and Stretch.
7. Maintain a Comfortable
