Main Facts of the Case This case is a cyber hacker crime case that is a result of stolen credit cards
from five hackers. There were several more involved in the act, but the five, located in the Ukraine
and Russian area were the main perpetrators. The approximate amount of credit that was stolen was
$300 million from various companies. The major companies include NASDAQ OMX Group Inc.,
Visa Inc., Dow Jones Inc., J.C. Penney Co, JetBlue Airways Corp and Carrefour SA (Post, 2013). The
companies and the hackers involved were all a part of the same incidence. In the case, the hackers
used firms secured information of financial transaction at the point of sale to copy fake card
information for their own use. They would be able to make large purchases using the data on the
cards. The only information the hackers would need is the technology to gain access to the firms
information system, card numbers, and a method copy the cards. Fraud Opportunity triangle All fraud
cases, there are motives to commit the crime. The motives can be discovered and possibly prevented
for future attempts to steal sensitive information. In the case of the cyber attack that cause the large
amount of loss can be reviewed and determine outcomes to prevent the incident from occurring in a
similar fashion. The fraud opportunity triangle, including the opportunity, pressure, and

Government Essay Assignment Elections
Every four years, the citizens of America migrate to their respective polling locations and cast their
vote. On this important day, the second Tuesday of November, the next President of the United States
is elected. Thosen to lead the country is by proxy the leader of the free world; the election of the
United States President is a deeply historical event. The actual decision, though, does not come as
easily as one would think. Yes, people sometimes vote blindly along party lines, but there is a whole
host of variables that can influence a voter s decision, and, largely, the outcome of an entire election.
Such variables include the issues at hand, party preferences, polling results and the ... Show more

importance of foreign policy. Nixon spoke of a brighter future and Kennedy boasted a new frontier.
These close similarities forced the campaigns to seek out other differences . Like the 1948 election,
several faux pas plagued the Republican camp. Eisenhower, under whom Nixon was Vice President at
the time, accidentally slighted Nixon. He was asked what major decisions Nixon had helped influence.
In attempt to curtail a press conference, Eisenhower replied if you give me a week, I might think of
one ( Road to Camelot ). Though not intended to harm Nixon at all, this hurt the election. The media
played a huge role in this election. The 1960 Presidential debate, aside from being the first ever
televised, was a deciding factor. Nixon, who was weary from campaigning and a knee injury, looked
haggard and old in front of the camera. This was exacerbated by the fact that he refused to wear
makeup and that his suit blended in with the backdrop. Kennedy, however, owned the camera. This
brought up an interesting result; When the debate ended, a large majority of television viewers

the hearts of viewers. In the end, Kennedy s young image had an incredible influence on the outcome

Have you ever heard of the pantherophis guttatus? You probably haven t. That s the scientific name of

lifespans, a specific environment, and they go through brumation.

Education And Poverty In Education
How does poverty affect educational opportunities? The impacts of poverty on children are wide
reaching and can prompt long term life struggles, particularly when young people don t receive a good
education. Poverty and education are inseparably connected, on the grounds that people living in
poverty may quit school, so they can work instead, which leaves them with a lack of literacy and
numeracy skills, which then causes them to not be able to advance in their careers. Their children,
thusly are brought up in a comparable circumstance years later, with little income and few options, but
to leave school and work. For the students living in poverty that do choose to stay in school have to
deal with the poor education offered near their home. Most high poverty, high minority schools will
receive significantly less state and local money than more wealthy schools, and students in such
schools will probably be taught by teachers who are unpracticed or teaching outside their specialties.
Studies have also been done about how physical and social emotional factors of living in poverty can
affect students cognitive performance in a detrimental way. There s a lot of reason that students
decided to drop out of school: little support from parents, lack of motivation, poor academic
performance. However, for low income students, the decision to quit school is more economic. These
students need to work to support their families. Urban Institute, using data from 2008 2012 American

Sonnet 116 Analysis
Once upon a time there was an English writer from the 1600s who wrote a collection of 154 poems
called Shakespeare s Sonnets. The poems reflect on love, time, beauty, and death. Throughout the
sonnets, many different types of love can be deciphered. The Various ways to love can be seen in
William Shakespeare s poems, as proven by lust in Sonnet 129, the love of appearances in Sonnet 130,
true love in Sonnet 116, and the elements of nature in contrast to love in Sonnet 18, proving that there
can be many different aspects of love and how it is perceived.
The first poem, Sonnet 129, shows how one way that love can be portrayed is through lust. It
describes how one is controlled by the impulses, experiences the joy, and is then mortified by the
deed. Lust is irresistible and overwhelming and can cause emotions such as longing, blissful
fulfillment, and unavoidable guilt, as described by Shakespeare in Sonnet 129 (Fleischmann 115).
Allowing physical desire to overpower reason is the root of sin that Shakespeare addresses in the
sonnet. Even though the sonnet s speaker knows that he should withstand the temptation, it is shown
that resisting the urges may be all but impossible (Fleischmann 116). The reader can infer that lust is a
desire experienced around the world, but not many people have the will to prevail over it: Sonnet 129
depicts lust as a universal experience the world knows well (11), even as only a few are able to
overcome its temptations and resist its tumultuous highs and lows (Fleischmann 116). This shows how
widespread attraction of lust is. In addition to lust being irrepressible, once the act is fulfilled, it is
almost always regretted: As Shakespeare wrote, the world well knows that sexual intercourse without
love is often a grave disappointment and can lead to torment in a wide variety of forms. Unfortunately,
many people have to learn this truth by bitter experience (Delaney 3). The only way that a person
realizes how unpleasant lust is, is through experiencing it. The speaker makes a realization at the end
of the poem that lust is only comprehended by looking at all its facets. He suggests that lust offers
heaven while searching for it, but lust offers hell when it is

It s A Crisp, Clear Skies Kind Of Friday Morning Essay
It s a crisp, clear skies kind of Monday morning. I awoke earlier than usual to spend quiet time, in the
early morning light, in the hot tub, with God before I write and before I meditate. The initial moments
of the day are somehow much richer in solitude and inspiration comes more succinctly than mid and
late day moments. A plausible explanation may be: I am rested, and there s a lack of human made
energy buzzing around me or it could simply be that my mind isn t buzzing because it s not yet fully
awakened. When my mind is buzzing, my entire body follows suit. Perhaps, the buzzing racing mind
is part of what separates me from God. The irony of being in my headspace is that the body is always
in the present moment, connected to the earth. The breath can serve as a reminder; for when I focus
my attention on inhaling and exhaling, my thoughts slow down, my mind stops buzzing about, and for
brief, fleeting moments, I am fully in the present. Being fully present is where the mysteries of life
dance, my intuition picks up on subtle energy, words and emotions of others float in. When I am
present for others, I am transformed as if I am infused with and transferring love, compassion, hope,
empathy, and kindness to others. These are the moments that I live for, the random coincidences where
God puts another in my path. A path on which I am never sure if I am the teacher or the student and
therefore, I become aware of humility that most often likes to hide underneath false notions of

The Ignored Lessons Of Anne Frank, By Bruno Bettelheim
Everyone seeks the approval or ratification of other individuals, whether it is a doctor seeking the
approval of peers, or individuals complying with the wishes of their doctors, as a means of pleasing
them. Ratification can be dangerous as individuals give power to those from which they seek
ratification. This can lead to relying on deception in the pursuit of ratification, as well as others
completely complying with those they deem as experts, in pursuit of the doctors ratification. The
article The Ignored Lessons of Anne Frank, written by Bruno Bettelheim, A Holocaust survivor and
former professor of psychology at the University of Chicago, provides evidence that supports experts
abusing power in pursuit of ratification. Likewise, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She did all of this despite obtaining none of the qualification required to diagnose mental disorders, as
she is a doctor of anthropology and has never obtained a PhD in Psychology. Where she abused her
power by presenting herself as a doctor of psychology, was where she gains access to a local mental
hospital by presenting herself as such, stating in her article that one day each week for a period of
three months I observed, interviewed, and tested young patients of the district mental hospital (587).
This shows her grievous abuse of power to further her research project, the purpose of which is to gain
the ratification of her peers. Likewise, Dr. Bruno Bettelheim demonstrates a similar abuse of power by
an expert, both in his article, and in his fabricated credentials. Dr. Bettelheim fabricated his credentials
in that he presented himself as a doctor of psychology, when he was not, and used these false
credentials to live as a professor at the University of Chicago, lecturing, researching and conducting
clinical practices when he was nowhere near qualified to do any of those activities (Finn). Yet in the
article The Ignored Lesson of Anne Frank, Bettelheim states, As a prisoner in Buchenwald, I talked to
hundreds of German Jewish prisoners who were brought there (Bettelheim pp.85) and concluded that
they were too attached to their possessions to escape persecution, criticizing them in the process. He
states this even though the Germans imprisoned

Compare William Shakespeare’s Sonnets 12 and 73 Essay
Compare William Shakespeare s Sonnets 12 and 73
William Shakespeare (1564 1616) wrote a group of 154 sonnets between
1592 and 1597, which were compiled and published under the title
Shakespeare s Sonnets in 1609. The 154 poems are divided into two groups, a larger set, consisting of
sonnets 1 126 which are addressed by the poet to a dear young man, the smaller group of sonnets 127
154 address another persona, a dark lady . The larger set of sonnets display a deliberate sequence, a
sonnet cycle akin to that used a decade earlier by the English poet Phillip Sidney (1554 1586) in
Astrophel and Stella . The themes of love and infidelity are dominant in both sets of poems, in the
larger grouping; these themes are

Sonnet 12, unlike sonnet 73, is made up of an octave, for observation, and a sestet, for reflection. The
iambic pentameters in this sonnet reflect the ticking of a clock, to display the passage of time. The first
line is a very obvious example of the passing of time, when I do count the clock that tells the time .
The person is counting the clocks chimes, giving an audible sound to the reader of the clock, which is
very important. The second line, and see the brave day sunk in hideous night , gives an almost visual
suggestion of brightness and gallantry by the word brave ; as opposed to the ugliness and darkness of
the hideous night . The poet also uses personification to describe the brave day , which emphasises his
youth and foolhardiness which is taken by the coming night. When I behold the violet past prime , the
violet is emblematic of the Spring and new life and growth, prime also means the period of perfection,
which is considered to be Spring.
The poet has used past prime to convey that once was young and fresh is now fading and dying.
Reflecting the ephemeral nature of life, which he is losing and that has nearly totally left him.
The following line describes the sable hair of youth is turned all silvered o er with white , meaning
that his black hair when the man

Downsizing Healthcare
Downsizing Medical Care in the United States
Mary Carnahan
HA 303: Public Policy in Health Care

Introduction For one reason or another hospitals are closing their doors. In this paper we will look at
how the downsizing of hospitals is affecting medical care in the United States. Why have some of
these hospitals closed?
High Point Community Hospital Closing I personally haven t seen or heard of any hospitals closing
down in my area recently but I do remember back in 1985 High Point Community Hospital, now High
Point Regional (since 1996) closed their doors only to move next door to the new hospital which
offered 351 private beds, in 1985 the hospital had only had 100 private beds. A little side note, my

In my community High Point Regional went from a hospital with room for 12 patients and employed
four nurses and a housekeeper. The cost of a week s hospitalization was between $10 and $15 (High
Point Regional 2015), in 1904 to 351 private beds for medical and surgical patients serving over
120,000 patients each year, and 15 operating rooms. So I think in this case High Point Regional is
growing with the community.
Is Downsizing of Hospitals Affecting Medical Care in the United States? I also think a lot of these
community hospitals are downsizing and/ or closing is because with the new technologies coming
across the board, the smaller hospitals cannot afford the upgrades like the hospitals in the big cities.
Case in point, I use to live in Pennsylvania and in the county I lived in there are a lot of very small
towns. The hospital that was in our town Spangler Memorial was what everyone call a Band Aid
hospital because they were not equip for major surgeries or baby

The Changing Patterns Of Education And Youth Labor Market
There are countless reasons that help to explain the growing number of people delaying marriage.
Between 1976 and 2011the median age of first marriage increased by six years for men and seven
years for women, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics. There is little doubt that the
experiences of young people making the transition into adulthood are quite different now than they
were 20 years ago. Many of these changes are direct results of labor market restructuring, workplace
reorganizations, and changing educational demand (Lehmann 2004, 380). The changing patterns of
education and youth labor market also accounts for this increase. Changes to the economy and the
skills necessary to enter the labor force have changed not only the patterns of education but also the
trajectories of young adults during and after education. This transition is increasingly difficult to
navigate and denotes the greater evolution of society. Dwyer and Wyn (2001) suggest that, As young
people responded to these changing social conditions, new patterns of transition and new relationships
between education and the labour market for young people emerged (Stokes and Wyn 2007, 496).
Over the last three decades, extensive technological advances have called for an increasingly educated
population. The manufacturing industry that sprung from industrial era introduced new systems in
commerce, manufacturing, and other industries, which placed great importance on efficiency,

Mansa Musa
Before Mansa Musa took the thrown, there was not really known about him. It was only until 1312
when he took the thrown from his father Abu Bakr II, people started to know the young Musa when he
inherited the title Mansa. 1312 is a year that many will not forget, because of the generous king s
progressive ideas and how he was loved by his people. His reach stretched over two thousand miles.
He was known by many different names like Emir of Melle , Lord of the Conqueror of Ghanata , or
Lion of Mali (newtonic learnodo.com). But he was mostly known by the name Mansa Musa, which
means the King of Kings
As West Africa s first Muslim King, he ensured peace for decades. He was loved by many, not only
for his grace but for the large sums of money and gold that we would give out to charitable
organizations. Even though he was the richest king in history, he believed that most of his wealth
should be shared with vast amounts of people. Even though Mansa Musa was a ruler, there were many
times where he did not act as a King.
The Mansa was also the first ruler to travel over four thousand to the city of Mecca. On this
pilgrimage, he stopped at many large cities along his way, including Cairo, Medina, and other Arab
cities. Years of planning and hundreds of people preparing, he made the journey with large sums of
gold. But he was not going to leave his palace and kingdom to be left alone while he was gone. He got

William Shakespeare s The Prince And Julius Caesar
Texts are a reflection of its contextual values; it is evident that aspects of human nature remain
constant irrespective of context. Texts ruminative of this include Tim Parks translation of Niccolo
Machiavelli s The Prince (1532) and William Shakespeare s historical tragedy Julius Caesar (1599).
The values and attitudes of these two texts anticipated responders and influenced purpose, form and
content such as the darker aspects of humanism, the changeless nature of man, and the fickle nature of
people.
Machiavelli s text The Prince mirrors the darker aspects of humanism man is essentially corrupt, self

Machiavelli suggests that the most supreme approach to change the degenerate individual into a
decent individual is through the good law, although even the best law is pointless. Machiavelli
characterizes man as being self serving and not willing to act in the best interest of the state, and when
the prince is in danger they turn against him . Machiavelli strengthens the prince s need to be feared
by stating, Men worry less about doing an injury to one who makes himself loved than to one who
makes himself feared . To acquire honour, Machiavelli suggests that a prince must be readily willing
to deceive the citizens. These treacherous measures would bring the prince honour and trust among the
citizen, suggesting that man s nature is changeless, which is exemplified in Shakespeare s Julius
Caesar through the character of Mark Antony.
Mark Antony in Julius Caesar abandoned Caesar as soon as he is killed and to seek his own glory.
Being a true friend of Caesar, Mark Antony promises Caesar s soul that he would seek revenge against

The development of sharecropping was associated with the endless debt cycles that afflicted the entire
South well into the twentieth century. The freedmen endured an economic status likened to peonage,
(Bowles, 2011) in addition to having their hopes for political and social equality dashed. The entire
South suffered, it was the freedmen who paid the highest price. Ignorant and impoverished, they were
easy targets for exploitation by landlords (Bowles, 2011) and merchants alike; moreover, their options
were limited by the overt racism in the South, legal restrictions and partiality. Sharecropping resulted
from the intense explicit or implicit desire of white Southerners to keep blacks subservient to them.
African Americans possessed few skills, and those they did possess related almost exclusively to
agricultural production; they owned no property but the clothes on their backs; (Bowles, 2011) Many
dreamed of forty acres and a mule with which to begin life anew as an integrated part of American
society and the proprietor of one s own land. Inside of a year, however, a different reality became
obvious to most. By 1868, land confiscation and redistribution was not in the realm of American
political possibility. Desperation, familiarity with people and surroundings at the old places coupled

Similarities Between Eastern And Western Philosophy
Eastern Philosophy
(RG Atento, 2015)
Having been schooled in a kind of education that focuses on a thought process that is halfway across
the globe, it is quite appealing to have discovered Eastern Philosophy as a grown man through a black
book lying inside our office s stock room in mid 1990s. That book proved to pivotal because it
introduced to me the Teachings of Buddha, and then, the whole Eastern philosophy starting from Lao
Tzu and Kung Fu Tze and Sun Tzu. Looking back at all these and analyzing the underlying
similarities on the Eastern block of philosophers, including the Muslim scholars, the Hindu mystics,
and the Japanese poets, I write this small treatise.
First, in the eastern philosophy, there seems to be an insistence on cosmological unity. The world is
one and we are one with the cosmos. No matter how hard we struggle past singularity and
individualism, the fact remains that we are mere drops of water in a boundless ocean of consciousness.
Alas, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fundamentals of the status quo however, should not be questioned. The culture of considering and
introducing radical changes is weaker. This is one of the main differences between eastern and western
philosophy, in that, while the latter is concerned with the struggles and triumphs of the hero and the
individual, eastern thought excludes the self as much as possible, and features the society, the family
and the state. Duties here are viewed as spiritual and almost missionary like. To create and develop
without any feelings of ownership, to work and guide without any expectation and control, is the best
quality (Lao Tzu). Further, to achieve self liberation and nirvana you need to perform your duties
without expecting any reward for it . (Vedanta, Hinduism). Finally, action can be achieved by inaction,
where result is achieved by Not Me

Big Data has gained massive importance in IT and Business...
Big Data has gained massive importance in IT and Business today. A report recently published state
that use of big data by a retailer could increase its operating margin by more than 60 percent and it
also states that US health care sector could make more than $300 billion profit with the use of big
data. There are many other sectors that could profit largely by proper analysis and usage of big data.
Although big data promises better margin s, more revenue and improvised operations it also brings
new challenges to the It infrastructure which is extreme data management .At the same time these

the data component called Smarter Computing.
Supporting Extreme Workloads has always been a challenge faced by the computing industry. For
example the business transaction processing systems have supported extreme transaction workload
even since the beginning of data processing. With the advent of new business these organizations have
employed custom and optimized transaction processing systems to handle application workloads that

Investigating The Role Of Scientific Knowledge On A Crime...
Conducting a successful investigation is relatively important in solving a case. Through each of the
components of the investigation, the tasks may vary; however, the end goal is moderately similar.
Once a report has been made, the investigation has begun. Investigators take it upon themselves and
their team to interact with the crime scene they see best fit. Crime scenes can accompany any given
setting, terrain, and/or location. Therefore, there is an importance in how investigators conduct their
investigation. The use of scientific knowledge solely applies to forensic investigators which is fairly
important in a crime scene examination. According to Criminalistics, forensic science is the
application of science to the criminal and civil laws that are enforced by the police agencies in a
criminal justice system . Applying scientific knowledge to a crime scene allows the investigator to
have a greater understanding of the events that have occurred. However, forensic investigators can
only perform their job well through a standard of properly recovered and preserved evidence.
The preservation of evidence at the crime scene is often the focus of the case. Through evidence, a
connection can be made to link certain suspects to a crime. Locard exchange principle suggests when
a criminal comes in contact with an object or person, a cross transfer of evidence occurs. Evidently,
the preservation of evidence begins with the first responding officer. First responding officers

The Catholic Social Teaching Principles are a tool to achieve the common good. In the past and in

Alcohol and drugs are also the number one way to cope for the Cherokee who have grown up with no

Television s Influence On Television
Throughout history television has seen many changes such as improved acting, special effects,
graphics, camera work, ideas, and many other changes. Cop/Investigation shows are the focus of his
paper. Investigation shows in particular have become more in depth and realistic. During the 60 s
television exploded. There was 245 million TV sets in American homes. At the time, that was more
TV sets than people in the United States. With all the turmoil with the JFK assassination, early stages
of the Vietnam War, the lifestyle of Sex, Drugs, and Rock n Roll and others, television was used to
reach out to people. During the 70 s television began to become even more popular because people
started liking it more and people were able to afford it. That changed the way television was
represented and what was on television. Cop shows from these two era s started getting more realistic.
Crime, cop, or investigation shows in the 70 s are more realistic than those shows of the 60 s. In the 60
s shows like I Spy , and Adam 12 started to turn up. Starting in 1965 I Spy is about a pair of
intelligence agents that go on secret missions around the world as a response to James Bond Movies.
A pair of American agents faces espionage adventures with skill, humor and some serious questions
about their work. Robinson s cover is as a former Princeton law student and Davis Cup tennis player;

Hunting is a great sport. There are people who spend their entire year waiting on the next hunting

Hunting is a great way to get out into the world. It is something that make bonding with other men

means getting out into nature, and in some cases; you may have to venture way out into the woods

enzyme deficiency, particularly the enzyme: ferrochelatase. This deficiency causes unusually high

itchiness and prickling sensations as well. One common symptom is very painful photosensitivity.
This then manifests itself as a burning and itching sensation on the epidermal layer of the skin. At
certain times, the itching sensations are completely unbearable. Rubbing the itchy spots with ice can
be the only relief, and the relief only lasts for a short period of time. Regular anti itch remedies,

Order Theory Vs Power-Conflict Theories
Question 6: According to the order theory, there are patterns of inclusion between racial and ethnic
groups when they are incorporated into a dominant society. By this definition, intergroup contact that
integrates through conformity to a dominant group and by cultural pluralism can be categorized under
order theories. When intergroup contact begins as a social hierarchy, the interaction between the
immigrating and native group can be modified by the new coming group conforming to the will of the
dominant. In this way, the incoming group will gain acceptance and equality by being subordinate to
the dominant group. Another possible adaptation pattern that is seen as an order theory is that of

The music industry has a huge effect on popular culture and people of today. Rappers especially can
tell a story through their music, which is what Keith Cozart (Chief Keef) was hoping to bring
awareness to with his rapping about Chicago. Since his career has progressed many younger
generations have been informed of the violence and crime occurring there, and his most recent music
talks about the dangers of it and the need for change. For older audiences, Spike Lee also brought
awareness to the issue in his movie Chi Raq, a movie about a girlfriend of a Chicago gang leader who
persuades other frustrated women to abstain from sex until their men agree to end the senseless cycle
of violence. Most people today spend more time focusing on popular culture than they do on worldly
issues, so it is important to make music, television, and cinema a platform for important information.
Just as Walter Benjamin predicted, popular culture has become a democratizing agent of society . The
products produced in popular culture have a major influence in showing us how we should think, feel,
and act. Younger audiences are more influenced by Chief Keef considering that his music is
considered low art form . The lyrics he writes and has younger audiences listen too certainly draws
attention to older audiences for its negative messages and meaning. In the crisis of Chicago, any
attention is good attention. There s still so much work to do in order to get Chicago s homicide and
crime rates down. If a wider audience is turning in, hopefully more action will be taken before
thousands of other men die from senseless

Irish Culture in America Essay
Irish Culture in America

prosperity. When they arrived they were met with less than open arms, but rather a whole new world
of discrimination. I will be discussing the summary I have done on the discrimination of Irish in

Not all the Irish drink and the stereotype is false in many cases pertaining to Irish Americans. Another
value of the Irish is uncertainty avoidance, which concerns the degree to which people who feel
threatened by ambiguous situations respond by avoiding them (Martin Nakayama, 2000, 70). This
leads the Irish to prefer to reduce rules, accept dissent, and take risks (Martin Nakayama, 2000, 70).
This can be supported by the massive immigration to the United States during the Potato Famine.
Many Irish took to the seas during this period, and it was a great risk for so many to cross a sea and
enter a world new to them, breaking away from the British power that controlled their lives. This
emigration also demonstrates a sense of free will, which encompasses the need for change and to
continue trying even if you fail. I noticed that the Irish are perceived as a group that works hard for
what it wants and doesn t seem to give in to the norms of society. The new vision of Irish immigrants
seems to be much healthier than that of previous generalizations. The action and doing value, which is
entangled in the values, seems to be present in the lives of Irish immigrants, The young Irish coming
over here today are much more sophisticated, more educated, and more ambitious (Krim Early, 1995,

The Voice of Linkin Park
The Voice of Linkin Park Over Linkin Park s entire career, they have won over sixty awards ( Linkin
Park Awards. ). Their success was kick started by their debut album, Hybrid Theory, which contained
massive radio hits (Leahey). Linkin Park went through many changes in order to get to where they are
now. The band was eventually signed to Warner Bros and proved to be worth the investment. There
are numerous ways to determine the quality and worth of a band and their success. Although Linkin
Park faces few alternative metal rivals, they can easily be considered the best rock band of the 2000s
due to their numerous awards their substantial amount of sales. There are certain qualitative and
quantitative factors that a band must fulfill in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hybrid Theory reached Diamond Status when their sales topped ten million (Leahey). Such an
accomplishment allowed the album to be considered as one of the most successful debuts ever
(Leahey). Linkin Park later received three Grammys nominations for the debut album as well. In the
2000s, Linkin Park not only received over sixty awards, but they also were nominated for a hundred
and sixty nine more (Leahey). It should also be taken into consideration that the statistics listed below
only refer to one of five albums. Some bands don t even reach Linkin Park s status of worth after their
first album when compared to their entire career. The amount of years that a band has been together
does not necessarily mean they are better or the best. For example, some of the bands that did not even
come close to making the list have never even won a Grammy let alone been nominated for one.
Although many people have their own opinion as to what a good band entails, based upon the criteria
that is created and evaluated, any band can justifiably be the best rock band. Based upon evaluating
rock bands on their number of awards and sales, Linkin Park is arguably the best rock band of the
2000s. There is no denying that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Not everyone is going to
easily agree that Linkin Park is the best rock band. On the other hand, based upon the criteria created,
arguments can be made as to why they under some circumstances that they are. Some of the other

Does behavioral targeting (E Havioral) in marketing present a greater negative implications than
positive? My position on this topic is yes. Behavioral targeting (E Havioral) in marketing does
presents a greater negative implications than positive. I would like to call it conservative spying. My
argue is this method of advertising and getting consumers to buy products and services is dancing on
the fence of disturbing. True story. I was laying on my bed watching television and web surfing and I
saw a commercial about a hair removal system Tria hair removal system and Kim Kardashian was
demonstrating how it works. I quickly looked it up on the web, I saw it and watched it for a few
minutes, then I click out and went on to look at something else music from Kem, but all of a sudden I

Challenges Parents Face Having Children with Congenital Heart Disease
With medical and technological advancements, infant and child mortality rates have decreased over
the years, but congenital heart disease is still a leading contributor to these mortality rates. Children
with congenital heart disease undergo more severe and rapid medical treatment putting their parents
through even harder times. These issues are worth exploring because congenital heart disease is an
ongoing illness that has more and more relevant research being done on it. In the United States of
America, an increasing number of children are being born and diagnosed with congenital heart disease
(CHD) due to medical advancements. This illness not only impacts the infant s life long term, but it
also affects the parent s well being (Tak, McCubbin, 2002). It has ... Show more content on

Controversial Benefits Of Maternity And Paternity Leave
Maternity and Paternity leave are controversial benefits that only some working men and women
across the world receive. The length or payment of maternity and paternity leave depends on the
country or even the company the employee works in. Most working people are completely for
maternity and paternity leave, because it allows for families to adapt to and care for the new baby in
their home. In general, people against maternity and paternity leave claim it is bad for businesses and
the economy in general. Maternity and paternity leave are times when employees leave work to
deliver or care for a newly born child. Most people are for maternity and paternity leave, because
working parents need money from working and typically want to be able ... Show more content on

Murphy makes a case stating these leaves simply hurt women. Murphy s main points are that
maternity leave is bad for business, because it is too expensive for them, and bad for women, because
companies will not want to hire or promote women if they have to go without them for months and
pay them for that time away. The K and K article claims essentially the same things about maternity
leave, but both are misleading. First, maternity leave is not bad for businesses, because, as shown in
the study by Arnarson et al., parental leaves actually promote work productivity and leads to more
women joining the workforce overall. Secondly, it is against the law, in the United States and many
other countries, for companies to not hire somebody, because they are a woman or because they are
pregnant. Therefore, that argument is completely insignificant anyway. Most arguments against
parental leave are not applicable or are incorrect, as shown by all of the studies mentioned

Game Of Thrones Patriarchy Quotes
In Game of Thrones every character is tortured in their own right. Some characters are simply
ridiculed in front of nobility, while others are forced to walk the streets of the city naked. Arguably,
Sansa Stark is one of the characters that receive the most unfortune. Sansa Stark, a naive, idealistic
girl from the North, hoped to marry the prince of her dreams, instead, her father was killed in front of
her, she was married twice to two sadistic men, and was raped in one of the most controversial
moments of the show. Sansa s subject to unfortunate events makes readers and viewers alike ask, will
Sansa ever escape her bad luck? The time period in which Game of Thrones is set does not heavily
favor women, which would partially explain Sansa s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She is determined to take back her home (Winterfell) and reunite the remaining members of her
family. Should Sansa accomplish her goal of taking back her home, she presumably would become
queen of the North, which would be a severe blow to the patriarchy of Game of Thrones. The
patriarchy in modern terms is characterised by current and historic unequal power relations between
women and men whereby women are systematically disadvantaged and oppressed (2). Sansa
becoming the queen of the North, would in a sense put her in a standing equal to those of men (or
even higher than some). The only obstacle that stand in the way of Sansa, is her sadistic husband,
Ramsay Bolton, who has taken her over her home and recently took her younger brother hostage.
Ramsay Bolton is the epitome of the patriarchy, he is the warden (ruler) of the North and was the one
that raped Sansa. Ramsay sees humans as toys and brutally tortures and subsequently flays them.
Sansa s decision to stand up against Ramsay shows her strength: instead of remaining a rape victim,
Sansa decides to take action. In a world filled with men in power, Sansa no longer see herself as
subservient object as she did in the previous seasons. Sansa is ready to take on the patriarchy and
assert herself to ultimately play the game of

  • 5. Education And Poverty In Education How does poverty affect educational opportunities? The impacts of poverty on children are wide reaching and can prompt long term life struggles, particularly when young people don t receive a good education. Poverty and education are inseparably connected, on the grounds that people living in poverty may quit school, so they can work instead, which leaves them with a lack of literacy and numeracy skills, which then causes them to not be able to advance in their careers. Their children, thusly are brought up in a comparable circumstance years later, with little income and few options, but to leave school and work. For the students living in poverty that do choose to stay in school have to deal with the poor education offered near their home. Most high poverty, high minority schools will receive significantly less state and local money than more wealthy schools, and students in such schools will probably be taught by teachers who are unpracticed or teaching outside their specialties. Studies have also been done about how physical and social emotional factors of living in poverty can affect students cognitive performance in a detrimental way. There s a lot of reason that students decided to drop out of school: little support from parents, lack of motivation, poor academic performance. However, for low income students, the decision to quit school is more economic. These students need to work to support their families. Urban Institute, using data from 2008 2012 American ... • 6. Sonnet 116 Analysis Once upon a time there was an English writer from the 1600s who wrote a collection of 154 poems called Shakespeare s Sonnets. The poems reflect on love, time, beauty, and death. Throughout the sonnets, many different types of love can be deciphered. The Various ways to love can be seen in William Shakespeare s poems, as proven by lust in Sonnet 129, the love of appearances in Sonnet 130, true love in Sonnet 116, and the elements of nature in contrast to love in Sonnet 18, proving that there can be many different aspects of love and how it is perceived. The first poem, Sonnet 129, shows how one way that love can be portrayed is through lust. It describes how one is controlled by the impulses, experiences the joy, and is then mortified by the deed. Lust is irresistible and overwhelming and can cause emotions such as longing, blissful fulfillment, and unavoidable guilt, as described by Shakespeare in Sonnet 129 (Fleischmann 115). Allowing physical desire to overpower reason is the root of sin that Shakespeare addresses in the sonnet. Even though the sonnet s speaker knows that he should withstand the temptation, it is shown that resisting the urges may be all but impossible (Fleischmann 116). The reader can infer that lust is a desire experienced around the world, but not many people have the will to prevail over it: Sonnet 129 depicts lust as a universal experience the world knows well (11), even as only a few are able to overcome its temptations and resist its tumultuous highs and lows (Fleischmann 116). This shows how widespread attraction of lust is. In addition to lust being irrepressible, once the act is fulfilled, it is almost always regretted: As Shakespeare wrote, the world well knows that sexual intercourse without love is often a grave disappointment and can lead to torment in a wide variety of forms. Unfortunately, many people have to learn this truth by bitter experience (Delaney 3). The only way that a person realizes how unpleasant lust is, is through experiencing it. The speaker makes a realization at the end of the poem that lust is only comprehended by looking at all its facets. He suggests that lust offers heaven while searching for it, but lust offers hell when it is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. It s A Crisp, Clear Skies Kind Of Friday Morning Essay It s a crisp, clear skies kind of Monday morning. I awoke earlier than usual to spend quiet time, in the early morning light, in the hot tub, with God before I write and before I meditate. The initial moments of the day are somehow much richer in solitude and inspiration comes more succinctly than mid and late day moments. A plausible explanation may be: I am rested, and there s a lack of human made energy buzzing around me or it could simply be that my mind isn t buzzing because it s not yet fully awakened. When my mind is buzzing, my entire body follows suit. Perhaps, the buzzing racing mind is part of what separates me from God. The irony of being in my headspace is that the body is always in the present moment, connected to the earth. The breath can serve as a reminder; for when I focus my attention on inhaling and exhaling, my thoughts slow down, my mind stops buzzing about, and for brief, fleeting moments, I am fully in the present. Being fully present is where the mysteries of life dance, my intuition picks up on subtle energy, words and emotions of others float in. When I am present for others, I am transformed as if I am infused with and transferring love, compassion, hope, empathy, and kindness to others. These are the moments that I live for, the random coincidences where God puts another in my path. Compare William Shakespeare’s Sonnets 12 and 73 Essay Compare William Shakespeare s Sonnets 12 and 73 William Shakespeare (1564 1616) wrote a group of 154 sonnets between 1592 and 1597, which were compiled and published under the title Shakespeare s Sonnets in 1609. The 154 poems are divided into two groups, a larger set, consisting of sonnets 1 126 which are addressed by the poet to a dear young man, the smaller group of sonnets 127 154 address another persona, a dark lady . The larger set of sonnets display a deliberate sequence, a sonnet cycle akin to that used a decade earlier by the English poet Phillip Sidney (1554 1586) in Astrophel and Stella . Sonnet 12, unlike sonnet 73, is made up of an octave, for observation, and a sestet, for reflection. The iambic pentameters in this sonnet reflect the ticking of a clock, to display the passage of time. The first line is a very obvious example of the passing of time, when I do count the clock that tells the time . The person is counting the clocks chimes, giving an audible sound to the reader of the clock, which is very important. The second line, and see the brave day sunk in hideous night , gives an almost visual suggestion of brightness and gallantry by the word brave ; as opposed to the ugliness and darkness of the hideous night . The poet also uses personification to describe the brave day , which emphasises his youth and foolhardiness which is taken by the coming night. When I behold the violet past prime , the violet is emblematic of the Spring and new life and growth, prime also means the period of perfection, which is considered to be Spring. The poet has used past prime to convey that once was young and fresh is now fading and dying. Reflecting the ephemeral nature of life, which he is losing and that has nearly totally left him. • 14. The Changing Patterns Of Education And Youth Labor Market There are countless reasons that help to explain the growing number of people delaying marriage. Between 1976 and 2011the median age of first marriage increased by six years for men and seven years for women, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics. There is little doubt that the experiences of young people making the transition into adulthood are quite different now than they were 20 years ago. Many of these changes are direct results of labor market restructuring, workplace reorganizations, and changing educational demand (Lehmann 2004, 380). The changing patterns of education and youth labor market also accounts for this increase. Changes to the economy and the skills necessary to enter the labor force have changed not only the patterns of education but also the trajectories of young adults during and after education. This transition is increasingly difficult to navigate and denotes the greater evolution of society. Dwyer and Wyn (2001) suggest that, As young people responded to these changing social conditions, new patterns of transition and new relationships between education and the labour market for young people emerged (Stokes and Wyn 2007, 496). Investigators take it upon themselves and their team to interact with the crime scene they see best fit. Crime scenes can accompany any given setting, terrain, and/or location. Therefore, there is an importance in how investigators conduct their investigation. The use of scientific knowledge solely applies to forensic investigators which is fairly important in a crime scene examination. According to Criminalistics, forensic science is the application of science to the criminal and civil laws that are enforced by the police agencies in a criminal justice system . Applying scientific knowledge to a crime scene allows the investigator to have a greater understanding of the events that have occurred. However, forensic investigators can only perform their job well through a standard of properly recovered and preserved evidence. The preservation of evidence at the crime scene is often the focus of the case. Through evidence, a connection can be made to link certain suspects to a crime. Murphy makes a case stating these leaves simply hurt women. Murphy s main points are that maternity leave is bad for business, because it is too expensive for them, and bad for women, because companies will not want to hire or promote women if they have to go without them for months and pay them for that time away. Therefore, that argument is completely insignificant anyway. Most arguments against parental leave are not applicable or are incorrect, as shown by all of the studies mentioned ... • 48. Game Of Thrones Patriarchy Quotes In Game of Thrones every character is tortured in their own right. Some characters are simply ridiculed in front of nobility, while others are forced to walk the streets of the city naked. Arguably, Sansa Stark is one of the characters that receive the most unfortune. Sansa Stark, a naive, idealistic girl from the North, hoped to marry the prince of her dreams, instead, her father was killed in front of her, she was married twice to two sadistic men, and was raped in one of the most controversial moments of the show. Sansa s subject to unfortunate events makes readers and viewers alike ask, will Sansa ever escape her bad luck? She is determined to take back her home (Winterfell) and reunite the remaining members of her family. Should Sansa accomplish her goal of taking back her home, she presumably would become queen of the North, which would be a severe blow to the patriarchy of Game of Thrones. The patriarchy in modern terms is characterised by current and historic unequal power relations between women and men whereby women are systematically disadvantaged and oppressed (2). Sansa becoming the queen of the North, would in a sense put her in a standing equal to those of men (or even higher than some). The only obstacle that stand in the way of Sansa, is her sadistic husband, Ramsay Bolton, who has taken her over her home and recently took her younger brother hostage. Ramsay Bolton is the epitome of the patriarchy, he is the warden (ruler) of the North and was the one that raped Sansa. Ramsay sees humans as toys and brutally tortures and subsequently flays them. Sansa s decision to stand up against Ramsay shows her strength: instead of remaining a rape victim, Sansa decides to take action. In a world filled with men in power, Sansa no longer see herself as subservient object as she did in the previous seasons. Sansa is ready to take on the patriarchy and assert herself to ultimately play the game of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
