Renaissance searched for an algebraic solution to the cubic equation. The ancient Egyptian and
Babylonian mathematicians produced solutions for the linear and quadratic equations. By 628,
Brahmagupta, the Indian mathematician, developed the general quadratic formula for solving a
quadratic equation. In the eighth century, the great Persian mathematician, Al Kharizmi, offered a
solution to the quadratic equation by completing the square. But solving the cubic equation or
finding the zeroes of the polynomials of degree three evaded the great mathematicians. Omar
Khayyan, the Islamic poet, astronomer, and mathematician attempted to find a general algebraic

different components of adoption, this paper has a strong emphasis of unrelated adoptions, or

My reasoning is that many forms social deviance are acts which ultimately are extremely
subjective or relative in terms of their nature. For example, saying things that are perceived as
racist in nature is widely viewed as being deviant of the social norms since they are incredibly
offensive in nature. Thus many areas even have created laws to combat such racist speech since
it defies the social order and also is said to incite people. However such deviance of social norms
(by saying racist comments) is quite relative since there are many contexts where such supposed
racist speech could be within what some would call the social norm depending on how such
speech is handled. One example that I think of would be Ice Cube s classic album Death
Certificate which contains the song Black Korea. The song was removed from the United
Kingdom s release as they felt that the content of the song would be classified as a violation of
laws against racial incitement (which is viewed as being against the social norm in the area). In

of the song is very strong and includes language that obviously would be found as offensive to

question to ask. Yet at the same time the child is also asking questions adults have asked

aspects of the Christian tenet.
The Songs of Experience are much darker in tone. The poems point towards an austere reality, a
bleaker view of creation itself.

My Experience At High School Classroom
Key Assessment Education 2130 Throughout my observation hours that I completed at South
Forsyth Middle School, I learned many things that I can apply to my classroom when I become
a teacher. I was cultured inside of the classroom to many new techniques and teaching styles that
will be beneficial for my career that is to come. I experienced the classroom in a wide variety due
to the different environments I witnessed during my time observing. Taking my experiences from
the broad array of students, I now feel more prepared for what lies ahead in my teaching career.
My time at South Forsyth Middle School gave me experience with 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. The
students ranged from on level art students to advanced year long students. I came across a trend of
endless opportunities within the classroom for the students. If the students came across a technique
or type of artwork that they wanted to try, the school and Ms. Wood made that happen. She had high
school teachers and college professors present their studies and beliefs to the students in order to
widen their perspectives and outlook on the art community. For example, they had the opportunity
to watch a high school teacher come and create pieces of pottery on the wheel. This can almost
give students a sense of motivation, encouraged them to look past art as they know it, and see the
beauty of art from someone else s perspective.
