Vietnam s Bank Risk Management

EVALUATION OF CREDIT RISK MANAGEMENT POLICIES AND PRACTICES IN A
VIETNAMESE JOINTSTOCK COMMERCIAL BANK‟S TRANSACTION OFFICE
Business Economics and Tourism 2010
1
FOREWORD
At this moment, the financial sector still attracts a lot of controversy both at the regulator and the
banker level. The regulators have been discussing on tighter banking rules. At the same time, the
banks have also been strengthening their own health with stricter supervision, one of which is to
reinforce credit risk management practices. I have long wanted to conduct a real research in
finance, the field in which I am really interested and want to pursue my future career. This is a great
opportunity for me to realize that wish. Beyond that it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, the State Bank of Vietnam‟s regulations, the bank‟s internal policies and annual
reports as well as the transaction office‟s business results also provide significant findings for
the research. The analysis of both primary and secondary data shows that this bank has been
trying to adopt a close to standard credit risk management framework with numerous published
documents governing the day to day credit activities. Some good points are a complete lending
procedure or a standard internal credit rating system SYMBOLS. However when it comes to actual
operation, some aspects should be considered, e.g. the staff training quality or the priority treatment
to high value customers. Especially, the high non performing loans at the transaction office and the
non complied loss provision must be reviewed and adjusted. These discoveries have led to several
constructive improvement suggestions for the case bank. Besides, recommendations for new
research directions have also been made. Key words Risk, Banking Risks, Credit Risk, Credit Risk

My Experience Of Taking The Agricultural Leadership And...
AGSE 364 Final Paper Throughout my experience of taking the Agricultural Leadership and
Agronomy I continued and increase development and understanding into not only agriculture but
also the world of agronomy. The many experiences were very rewarding from beginning to end.
Firstly, the monthly meetings where I connected with colleagues not only in regards of academics
but also had the opportunity to build relationships and friendships that will last a lifetime. The
many experiences in which I feel honored to of had the opportunity to partake in will without a

Essay about New Social Movements, how they arose and...
What factors account for the rise of new social movements and what effect have they had on
contemporary society?
We are all familiar with the stories of suffragettes burning their bras, and environmental enthusiasts
breaking into labs and liberating rats back to the wild. But what caused women to abruptly rip of
their pinnies, tell dad dinner s in the dog and start running around without appropriate underwear?
What caused contented homemakers to leave the cosy warmth of their gas fires in favour of
chaining themselves to trees?
And are such people an eccentric minority, or have they profoundly affected the way we live and
think in the western world today?
To address these questions I will begin by defining New Social Movements (or ... Show more

The tactical characteristic is the aspect which sets social movements apart from other forms of
political action.
All movements engage in at least some action outside of the institutional or legal channels of
political access. (Lovenduski and Norris, 1996).
There is a diverse range of NSMs fighting for causes from the environment to women to the
elderly to the blacks. For the purposes of this essay I will inspect only a couple in detail, but it
should be retained that they are examples of a bigger wave.
Two of the best known movements are the environmental or Green movement, and the Women s
movement. Both have evolved over the past hundred years into strong and extremely influential
political leagues. Both have the ideological aspect, wanting to change the general public s approach
to their respective causes the environment and equality between sexes. They also have the
organisational factor, with now impressive and far reaching channels of communication. And
finally they have the tactical factor, having utilized many different methods of expressing and
arguing their opinions.
The Green movement has distinct personal and public fields, campaigning for specific issues such
as pollution, renewable energy sources while also questioning the basic values of a developed
industrial society which assumes

Microaggressions Affects People
I had recently learned about microaggressions and the effects they have on the people they are
directed towards. Most people do not want to come off as racist or inconsiderate, sometimes they
are just curious. I have experienced microaggressions in my life, but have not thought of them
like that. It was usually something along the lines of: What are you? or Where are you from? I
didn t think about the meaning, or if it was considered rude or not. I would casually respond with
a polite laugh and say I m Cambodian. It wasn t a big deal to me, because I hadn t thought of
people as being intentionally rude. A trend that I have noticed with the people asking me these
questions is that the majority of them are White, or Caucasians. But, that

Organic Farming vs Factory Farming Essays
Many consumers and farmers have discovered that living in an industrialized culture where the
focus has become faster, bigger, and cheaper is not the best way to produce our food. Obsessed with
productivity, the agriculture industry is reaping the negative consequences of creating an
unsustainable environment for food production. Time and time again, the media captures stories
regarding deadly bacterial contamination and dangerous pesticidecontamination causing illness and
death in our communities. The environment is also damaged and contaminated. This devastating
trend, due to irresponsible farming practices as a result of the industrialization of the food industry,
has become all too common. Returning to organic farming,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

As the soil becomes more and more polluted with these toxins, it becomes unsustainable.
Therefore, land that would have remained fertile for centuries through the commonsense farming
of our ancestors, is being ruined by farming controlled by big corporations whose sole interest is
in immediate short term profit (Goodall 38). Industrialized livestock farming with thousands of
animals crammed into small factory spaces is responsible for numerous bacterial and viral
infections such as E.coli., Avian bird flu, Mad cow disease, Salmonella, and many more.
Therefore, conventional farmers use antibiotics to keep these animals alive. This over use of
antibiotics is causing the creation of new, resistant strains of deadly diseases that kill people and
animals. Disease is actually caused by the bad practices, shortcuts, and antibiotic resistance. This
has the opposite effect of what was intended and also costs farmers millions of dollars every year
instead of saving money. Unfortunately, conventional agricultureexperts recommend these
monocultural farming practices in the name of quick, mass production. Current conventional
farming practices are also responsible for many pollution problems that would not exist otherwise.
The land where we live and grow our food, the water we drink, and the air we breathe are all being
contaminated. The large amounts of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers used on our crops are
poisoning the soil, air, and water. Toxic heavy metals such

How Did God Gave Moses Health Rules For Freedom From...
Summary None of These Diseases 1 5 God gave Moses health rules for freedom from diseases
and pus does not promote healing. The idea of putting something in the wound creating pus,
which infects the wound is the way the ancient Egyptians medicine practiced. Epidemics killed
thousands as well meaning doctors choose to infect the wounds of their patients. The doctors
that have listened to the biblical health rules prevented the spread of infection and epidemics.
Leprosy killed millions and spread terror throughout the medieval days. While doctors had not a
clue as to how this epidemic started or how to treat it, the church leadership abided by the
instructions of Moses, given to him by God. A person with leprosy was to live outside the camp
away from people, not because he was being punished, but to keep the spreading of the disease to
the people. Norway had an epidemic in the late 1700s. they did not understand that the disease
spread, and it became out of control, until Norway acted on the biblical rules to separate the
diseased people. God promised His people that if they listened to His rules, He would not put none

The IMF Disease Eating Away Our Daily Bread
The IMF disease eating away our daily bread Pakistan s economy has paid a huge price in

Pakistan Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper , total losses, measured in terms of exports, foreign
investment, industrial output and tax collection, are estimated to be around RS 2.08 trillion
during the last five years period. The war on terror has outbalanced already stretched financial
resources of the government as a consequence the development projects have been cut resulting in

Coming back to the IMF report findings, it says, to regain macroeconomic stability, Pakistan
needs to expand its economy 5 7% per annum over the next 5 years period, create adequate number
of jobs, improve income distribution and liberalize the economy, and set gear for transparent
privatization. The IMF needs to understand that the epicenter of Pakistan s problem is the political
economy of the country than the economy itself. The two core issues that needed to be addressed
immediately are; improvement in security situation and the economic governance. The government
is running out of choices as on the one hand it has to meet the harsh conditionalities of the IMF
and on the other has to save the economy from total collapse balancing the two wheels is rather a
difficult job for the economic managers of the country. The harsh IMF conditions at the moment
are doing no good to the economy, instead, have added to the frustration of common men. What
Pakistan needs right now is a growth which is not only demand driven but job oriented which will
help increase consumers income and standards of living of average Pakistanis. But with high
prevailing interest rates, poor security situation coupled with carrot and stick game of the IMF, the
task is unlikely to be achieved. Hence the growth will remain subdued in the near

Over the four years from 2009 10 to 2012 2013, Labor had met its fiscal rule of keeping the
average spending growth rate to less than 2% a year (Musgrave, R. A. n.d). This was the lowest
period of spending growth in 23 years, meaning that not enough money was being injected into the
circular flow of income. This reduced aggregate demand as consumer spending was low. In order to
ensure that key spending was sustainable, structural improvements were required for the 2014 15
Budget. Overall, the Labor government has left a disastrous legacy of high debt for the Liberal
government to try and overcome.

Roman Empire Future
What will the world be in a hundred years? That is a question that runs through everyone s head
at some point in their lives. Most people are always interested in what the future holds and some
make many different theories about it. All of us already know how in the future we will be
technologically advanced with computers and cars but we don t know how the world will
work. Will the world come to full stop and fail, adapt and progress or if it will go back to the
roots of our ancestors to run properly. Some ask Will the global hegemonic dominion of the
USA fade away like the Roman Empire? Or is the US just now fully developing into an American
Empire? Will the world deteriorate into a kind of international neo feudalism? Or are we on the
brink of a Second Renaissance. The theory that the USA s global hegemonic dominion will fade
away like the Roman Empire is quiet interesting. It is true that both the U.S and Romans are the

When people predict the next one hundred it is not 100 percent that it will all come true but there
is a slight chance that will. When people predict if the U.S will fall like the Roman Empire, they
should know that will never happen. The U.S is the strongest force in the world both economically
and military. Also America s policy for zero corruption and freedom of religion keeps the people
together unlike the Romans. Another thing that America will become in the futureis an empire, by
becoming the world s best economy and gaining more territories. As for having neo feudalism run
through the government is a 50 50 chance because it depends on how much power is given to the
rich in the future. The second renaissance on the other hand is bound to happen. We will end up
making robots which do our work and will deteriorate this beautiful country. So over all we the

Microclimate Report Sample
My microclimate report of My Garden
Microclimate is the climate of a small area within a larger area, my garden. I was given the task
of investigating the microclimate of my garden and recording what I found. The warmest place
was site 3 with a temperature of 13 degrees Celsius In site 3 there is a low albedo so heat is
absorbed therefore the temperature is higher here on a warm day the aspect of this site is south
west so this results in this part of the garden being warmer, because places facing the sun are
warmer than those in the shadows, in Britain the sun rises in the east and moves through the south,
so at midday the sun would be directly facing south making my garden hotter. We use this to an
advantage by setting seats up in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Precipitation levels change over my garden with site 1 collecting the most over that night with
5mm of rainfall and site 9 collecting the lest with 1.2 mm of rainfall. The amount of precipitation
in site 5 is mainly due to being under a gutter so all the precipitation would come down the gutter
here therefore we don t use this part of the garden much. Site 9 had the lowest precipitation
collected this is mainly because the precipitation doesn t collect in this location as most of it
would falls down onto the shed and collects there instead as this area doesn t get as much
precipitation the tables and chairs are permanently set up there so the tables don t get too wet if we
want to eat on them the next day and being metal the tables and chairs wont rust as much.
Others parts of my garden have varied microclimate. There was a large range of temperature in my
garden being 6 degrees Celsius and a range of 15mph for the wind speed and 3.8mm range in
precipitation levels. This shows that my garden has a microclimate as the temperatures vary a
lot in my garden especially in the wind speed where some sites got no wind speed and another
site reached speeds of 15mph where there was a canyon effect. My family try to make best use of

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Multilinear Events Sequencing
My apologies for my late contribution to the forum, upon review of the chapter, I would agree with
my classmates that even though it required a lot of time, it was indeed insightful and gave me the
opportunity to examine additional approaches of causation analysis which sometimes they are not
included in the Maritime Investigation training courses provided by various classification societies.
The Multilinear Events Sequencing (MES) as mentioned in the relevant chapter of the book acts as
an alternative to the ECF charts. The MES method of analysis examines the conditions that led to
an accident. However it examines the accident as a part of successful and failed tasks that executed
right before the accident. The MES approach allows the investigator ... Show more content on

New Liberalism Essay
New Liberalism
Old liberalism, otherwise know as classical or Gladstonian liberalism was centred around the
fundamental rights of the individual. It was an ideology that the state should have little to no
intervention in people s lives and in the economy. It relied heavily upon the notion of laissez
faire, and the Victorian mindset of self help. Thrift was one of these ideas. It was the theory that
any family could support itself if that income was managed wisely, and a pension could be saved
for. The key pillars of old liberalism was low taxes and low state intervention. This was because
they believed that the people should be able to spend their money as they wised, and not be forced

Towards the end of the century this was coming into question. Other European nations were
industrialising and eating into Britain s profits. There was a thought among the British public
that as long as the economy was growing, eventually prosperity would filter down to the lower
classes. But as the economy began to shrink, according to Lee it eroded the attractions of
industrial growth as a panacea for society s ills. Victorian notions were rapidly becoming out of
date and viewed as wrong, not only economically, but morally as well. In London and York,
studies showed that a third of people lived in poverty as a direct result of simply not having a
large enough income to cover their basic needs, while thousands more lived in poverty due to
inadequate education to manage there finances. Laissez faire was being proven to be out dated in
Birmingham where the conservative mayor Joseph Chamberlain had shown that local government
taking control for and organised public amenities and facilities could benefit the community as a
whole. Not only did this destroy laissez faire, but also it was an attack by the Tories on Liberal
values. In the 1880 s socialism was starting to gain ground as the lower classes saw that their
situation was not increases, and at the

Concert Band Vs Marching Band Essay
Sometimes, a talent is a blessing. However, it can also bring a lifetime of toil.
Both in middle school and high school, I stayed in the elective Band. There exist two types of
bands in the school: Concert Band and Marching Band. In Concert Band, you choose and play an
instrument. Based on which one you play, you could receive the melodic material or the
accompaniment. Marching Band, however, has elevated difficulty by forcing you to march and play
simultaneously. The marching instruments could be the same instrument, an alternate form of the
instrument, or another instrument if you play a concert instrument which you cannot march. I play
an instrument called the tuba which almost always has the bass line, usually plays longer notes
than the rest of the band, and gets an occasional solo by a fluke

Essay on The Essence of Pop Culture
Talk about Pop Music, Talk about Pop MusicВ… was one of the most catchy phrases of the 1980

is pop culture?
br
br I spent some time online trying to answer my question and time after time I was led to the same
direction: pop culture is what we see, hear, speak, and are otherwise exposed to on a daily basis.
The infomercials we see late on television, the billboards we see on the side of the road, the junk
mail we receive, the links on the web pages we visit, and the radio commercials we hear all tie
together to form this idea of pop culture. These, plus many other aspects, form our minds and teach

Autodidactic And Active Learner-Active Learning
Autodidactic, Active Learner Active learning is a learning style whereby the student is tasked to
inquire, gather, analyze and perform higher order reasoning. The active learning strategy attempts
to engage the student on a spectrum of communication types. Active learning stimulates different
regions of the brainand the simultaneity ties them together. For instance reading activates the visual
cortex, listening the temporal lobe, writing the cerebellum, analyzing the prefrontal lobes. This is
also know as whole brain learning. This is aptly described in the adage Cells that fire together,
wire together. The student that is able to learn independently of a formal class is called a self

organization of documents into clusters so that documents within a cluster have high similarity in
comparison to documents in other clusters. It is measuring similarity between documents and
grouping similar documents together. The study of similarity measure for clustering is initially
motivated by a research on automated text categorization. There was several similarity measures
used for document similarity. It provides client representation and visualization of the documents;
thus helps in easy navigation also. It has been used intensively because of its wide applicability
in various areas such as web mining, search engines, and information retrieval. The key of
organizing data in such a way is to improve data availability and to fasten data access, so that web
information retrieval and content delivery on the web are improved. The main idea is to improve
the accessibility and usability of text mining for various applications. By optimizing similarity
measures the optimal clusters can be formed thus performance is improved. 1.

Matsushita And Phillips Case Analysis
Matsushita and Phillips Phillips and Matsushita are both electronics companies that started
relatively around the same time, faced problems around the same time and went through failures
and successes that they themselves created. Phillips Introduction Phillips started out in Holland and
became very successful, very quickly, becoming the third largest light bulb producer in Europe.
Phillips continued to focus on light bulbs as others in the industry began to branch out. By 1919,
however, Phillips entered into an agreement with General Electric and began to become a less
centralized company and into a more decentralized sales organization. Organizational Development
The National Organizations (NOs) during the war proved to be the most successful, due to their self
sufficiency and allowance to adapt to current, country specific market conditions. Eventually,
responsiveness extended beyond adaptive marketing. They began to take from one market and
implement into another. While Phillips in Canada created the company s first color TV, Phillips in
the UK created the first TVs with teletext. While the formal corporate structure existed, NOs were
the ones in charge. Reorganization Phillips had to abandon their attempts at VHS when the North
American Phillips outsourced their VHS project to Matsushita. In 1971, with a new CEO became a
new structure. This occurred with many different CEOs at different times with the company and
still in 2009 the financials remained poor and its

Benedictus Play
In Mass in D, there are no introductions at the beginning of movements, except in the case of
Benedictus (DvoЕ™ГЎk added two measures of introduction in the orchestra version). Since
amateur choirs often have a limited background in reading music, teaching intervals during
rehearsal is another important key to success. The author found it important to teach amateur
singers how to obtain the first note in every movement. In the first movement, Kyrie, the last chord
ends in D major. Sopranos hold the tonic, altos hold the third, tenors hold the fifth, and basses hold
the tonic. As tenors are taking the lead on the second movement, Gloria, the first note of their part
is the tonic of D. It is important to teach the amateur singers to... Show more content on

However, the high notes in the tenor part on measures 113 114, singing an octave from G3 to
G4, could be challenging for amateur singers as this is a high pitch that requires a soft dynamic.
The author suggests that the conductor use a falsetto voice or simply assign only the Tenor I to
sing. For soprano, the highest note is G5 in this movement. The most challenging section would be
measure 83, singing the repeating G5 and then moving down by a half step to F sharp5. This could
create intonation problems for amateur singers. In this section, the basses are holding the D4 for
three beats, which could be a challenge for amateur singers as well. The author would suggest the
conductor not to sing this part too heavily although it is marked as forte in the score.
Movement II Gloria
In Gloria, the highest and lowest notes for each voice are as follows:
The sopranos and tenors on measure 17 are holding A5 (A4 for tenors) for three and a half beats
with the dynamic of fortissimo. It could be a challenge for the amateur singers. Therefore, care
must be taken. The conductor could ask the singers not to sing too heavily so as to avoid vocal
fault, but to think of support. One of the most effective tools in teaching amateur singers to sing on
a high pitch correctly is to think opposite when singing the high note, and also to bend their knees
when singing the high note during the rehearsal.
Movement III Credo
In the Credo, the highest and lowest notes for each voice are as

William Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet Essay
To the majority of people, the notion of unattainability in all forms material possession, love, etc.
is incredibly alluring. This concept has been around for years and is exemplified in many
instances. Romeo and Juliet, the world renowned Shakespearean play tells a story of forbidden
love and how two souls respond to the ban with only more desire for one another. Graffitiartists feel
similarly about the illegality of their art: it is precisely this illegal risk that gives it its counter
cultural edge (Lu). In a newspaper article reporting on the construction of a legal wall for street art,
the people interviewed claimed they would not continue to graffiti if police officers told them
they could do it because that would not be as thrilling ( Teen Graffiti Artists Say the Thrill Is It s
Illegal ). This makes it quite hard for legislators to find some middle ground with street artists in
order to keep everyone happy. Legislators all around have tried creating sanctioned spaces or
areas where graffiti, though not legal, can be tolerated in attempts to isolate the so called issue.
An example of such an area is Graffiti Alley in Ann Arbor, which was originally an area for
commissioned murals but has now been taken over by graffiti artists who cover up the murals with
tags, pieces, and more street art (Dobrin). Though such areas do a great job of attracting the
members of graffiti culture to tag there, they fail to completely eliminate the alleged vandalismin

The Pros And Cons Of Gay Adoption
An estimated 65,000 adopted children are living with homosexual parents (Tavernise). That s about
fifteen percent of the total number of kids in the foster care system. For ages people have been
against homosexual adoption because they think only heterosexuals should be able to adopt
children. Fortunately, as of June 2015, homosexual adoptionis legal in all fifty states. Just imagine
if the thousands of kids did not have a home just because homosexuals were not allowed to adopt.
That would be 65,000 more kids who do not have a home or live in foster care. Some adolescents
might even live out on the streets or in unsafe places. Although many may think that same sex
couples are unfit to raise and adopt kids, children of same sex couples are actually happier and
healthier than when raised by heterosexual couples.
For many, the thought of there being a child with two mothers or two fathers is simply atrocious.
Some people do not think that homosexuals are fit for the role of a parent. According to Gary
Glenn, Direct consequences of homosexual behavior experience dramatically higher risks of
domestic violence, mental illness, and substance abuse, thus putting children in danger. However,
many studies have shown that this is not the case. An individual s sexual orientation does not affect
the risk of getting the behaviors listed above. Any person is susceptible to having a disorder. Glenn
also vocalizes that Children of homosexuals are more at risk for anxiety, depression, OCD, and
bipolar disorder. This is a very dramatic statement, again considering anyone could have one of
those disorders, regardless of their parents sexual orientation. Alternatively, studies have shown that
homosexual people make for quality parents. For example, Sabrina Tavernise suggests that
homosexual parents are actually more affluent and educated than heterosexual parents. Those
attributes are very helpful, especially when raising children. The benefits of homosexual adoption
far outweigh the negatives in this circumstance.
Children of homosexual parents are prone to be more happy than those of heterosexual parents.
There are numerous positive impacts for the children. Various studies have been done to show the
impacts. Of 77

Analysis Of Be Glad Your Nose Is On Your Face
Change Isn t Always for the Better Poems are the perfect mixture between the rhythmic of songs
and the structure of speeches. The theme of a poem is expressed through different literary
devices such as alliterations and rhyming techniques. Jack Prelusky s Be Glad Your Nose Is on
Your Face, is a poem that takes on a journey of different scenarios of having one s nose in
different places on the body that would not benefit them at all. He makes the point that the
placement of the nose is exactly where it should be to be most beneficial. Although the poem is
literally about a nose being on a face, Prelusky emphasizes thankfulness by using literary devices,
themes, and real life examples.
The theme of this poem is portrayed in an indirect ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This also relates to real life terms that even when times get tough, they will make it through
because of the help from their permanent people in their lives. These two concepts correlate
because the nose is permanently on the face to help smell just like the permanent people in one s
life are also here to help when needed. This literary device helps the interpretation of the poem
because it sets a positive and upbeat tone to the poem, implying to be grateful and happy with what
one has. Alliteration is only applied once during the poem but, rhymes and rhyme schemes are used
persistently from start to finish.
Another literary sound device used by Prelusky is rhyming. One purpose of rhyming in poetry is to
link and draw gapping stanzas together. It also creates an overall pattern for the poem and helps
with the symmetry of the stanzas. Within his rhyming examples of having a nose in weird places,
his theme of being thankful still shows. This poem starts off with the first two stanzas ending in a
rhyme with face and place . The specific rhyme where the last words of the stanzas rhyme is called
external rhyme. Prelusky continues to use external rhymes consistently throughout the poem to
help continue the rhyme scheme. The rhyme scheme used in this poem is portrayed to make it
more musical and uplifting. The use of rhyme helps interpretation of the poem

Explain the Mechanism Behind the Money Multiplier. How Can...
This essay will explain and illustrates the key mechanism behind the money multiplier and explore
how monetary authorities can influence its size and affect the money supply in the economy.
Firstly, an introduction on money measure will be presented. Secondly, the mechanism behind
money multiplier will be presented by using equations to explain the cyclical changes in the
multiple factor. Thirdly, the examination of the moneymultiplier in the current economic climate
will be put forward. Fourthly, an explanation on the open market operation, discount window and
the reserve ratio will be presented to convey the influence in the size of money supply. Finally, this
essay will conclude with an overview of the essay.

Therefore, the monetary base holds ВЈ180. Similarly, if another customer deposits ВЈ400, the bank
would have to reserve ВЈ80 and may convert the remaining ВЈ320 into loans or purchase
government securities (Howell Bain, 2008). Nevertheless, it should be noted that the change in the
money multiplier depends on the reserve requirement ratio and the public s willingness to deposit
currency (Vasudevan, 2003). For instance, when the depositor keeps less currency it will have an
effect on deposit as it will be multiplying more. In comparison, if the depositor holds more currency
then less multiple deposits will occur (Ireland, 2010).
Conversely, the banking system are required to keep a portion of the depositor funds for
precautionary circumstances and the rest may be converted in to loans, thereby increasing the
available cash by a factor that is a multiple of the initial deposit (Business Dictionary, 2010). For
example, assume that the money supply in the economy is ВЈ900 billion, the total deposits are
ВЈ500 billion and the reserved required is 12%.
The calculation for mm is the following:
In this example above, a ВЈ1 increase in Monetary Base/high powered money leads to a ВЈ2.20
increase in Money supply. However, according to Vasudevan (2003) states the changes in reserve
requirements can be captured in the multiplier. The money multiplier tends to rise when

The Roles Of Black Women On Reality Television
Reality television is a programming that documents apparently unscripted real life situations.
The genre of reality TV shows focus tends to be on drama and personal conflict, rather than
educating viewers. The roles of black women on reality television depict negative stereotypes.
The roles they are portraying makes them out to look negative. Black women are already
assumed to be angry, petty, loud, violent, bad attitudes, drama queens, and many more. Their
actions on reality TV is portrayed to people outside our culture exactly the way they expects us
to be or act. Stereotypes are taken into new levels based on reality TV, because to a certain
extent, majority of black women in my society is acting that way. Those women actions on
reality TV shows seem to have an influence on majority of black women who are viewers actions.
For instance, we have reality shows like Love and Hip Hop, Basketball Wives, Bad Girl Clubs,
The Real House Wives of Atlanta, and many more. Love Hip Hop is one of the most talked
about shows that negatively portrays the roles of black women. That show is full of drama
which makes it interesting to watch, but shows a poor look on black women. TV critics says that
this is one of the most intense reality shows, because it shows verbal and physical abuse in black
relationships. The original Love Hip Hop started Mona Scott Young s depredation into reality TV,
stereotyping black women as angry, promiscuous and so on. In one of the seasons L HH New

Physics Of Physics And Engineering Mechanics
By the time I reached senior high school, I knew I wanted to study mechanical engineering, but I
hadn t decided on a focus. Then, near the end of my junior year, I attended a family function at
my aunt and uncles house. A number of my siblings and cousins had piled onto their trampoline,
and eventually a bracket in the underside of the trampoline failed. Fortunately, no one was hurt,
but my uncle, who worked for Elliot Group, mentioned that a simple finite element model should
have been able to identify the design deficiency. At the time, I didn t even know what finite
element analysis was, so I did some research when I got home. What I found was a field that
exactly suited my interests in applied mathematics and engineering mechanics. Since then, I have
taken every opportunity possible to expand my knowledge of computational mechanics, and I
hope to further that effort at the University of Illinois. My academic experience began freshman
year of college, when I took a course on computational methods in engineering. As it was an
honors course, the curriculum was extremely aggressive. We covered basic programming in both
C++ and MATLAB, a number of numerical methods, and how to write strong technical papers.
Since then, I have taken more advanced courses, but this one had the greatest effect on me because
it impressed upon me the vast potential of computation methods. Many of the problems that are

early 1980 s to 55% by 1998 (Walston West, 2004), to 77% reported in 2011. This increase can be
posited as a reflection of societal changes and newly emerging educational priorities stemming

Most education stakeholders support the extended day of FDK because they believe it provides
long term and short term academic advantages, behavioral benefits, as well as support to parents
in the workforce. Length of Day There have been positive and negative outcomes found in the
literature associated with the additional time a FDK student experiences. Early childhood
theorists such as Piaget and Vygotsky speculate that larger blocks of time are necessary for young
children to engage in the process of learning (Eliott, Kratochwill, Littlefield, Travers, 1996).
Cooper, Allen, Patall, and Dent (2010) state that benefits of FDK include higher academic
achievement, fewer grade retentions, easier transitions into first grade, better socialization and self
esteem, less hurried instruction, fewer transitions, lower child care costs, more learning
opportunities for low income children, and greater academic quality. A major argument repeated
in the literature is the additional hours of kindergarten provided in FDK better prepares children
for first grade which will result in decreased need for grade retention (Wang Johnstone, 1999).
Ideally, the extra time in the school day allows for teachers to provide a relaxed classroom
atmosphere in which children can experience kindergarten activities in a less hurried manner
(McConnell Tesch, 1986). The literature posits several negatives to the extra time

The Effects Of Music On A Desert Island
The thought of being stranded on a desert island has never crossed my mind. If this tragic event
should happen, I know that I would probably be very agitated. Moreover, I would be soaked in
fear and confusion. The first thing I, like any person, would do is seek a source of peace and
tranquility so that I can think things through. For many people, music would be their soothing
factor. However, if I were stranded on a desert island, I would not be calmed by music. Until this
day, I have not created an emotional connection with music. It has never played a major role in
my life and most likely never will. Therefore, if I were stranded on a desert island, music would be
of no significance to me.
A major reason for why music does not play a role in my life and would be of no benefit to me if I
were stranded on a desert island is because of my religion. My religion is Islam. In Islam, it is
preferred that people avoid listening to music. To be honest, I have listened to music several
times in my life, but in none of those instances have I created any sentimental or emotional
connection to it. The main reason for why my religion does not agree with music is because it is
believed that anything that withdraws a person from reality is considered to be a distraction.
Within my religion, it is believed that music takes a person away from reality. As a result, that

Essay on Effectiveness of Law Reform
Evaluate the Effectiveness of Law Reform in Australia
Law Reform in Australia is effective in varying degrees. Through Native Title Reform and Law
Reform in Sport, the effectiveness of Law Reform in Australia is further outlined.
The term Native Title refers to the right of Indigenous people to their traditional land. In Australiait
has a legal significance of the right to an area of land, claimed by people whose ancestors were the
original inhabitants of the land before European settlement. Also who can prove that they have had
a continuous connection with the land. Native Title is the term given by the High Court to
Indigenous land rights by the Court in Mabo and others v State of Queensland (No.2) [1992] HCA

Sport is a part of Australian culture, in which Australian athletes have performed well over the past
years. Sport Law ranges over the areas of contract law, tort law, and the criminal law. Tort law is
the body of law that deals with civil wrongs including negligence, defamation, trespass and
nuisance.
Civil litigation is court action brought to remedy a wrong or breach of contract. This is shown
through Canterbury Bulldogs player Sonny Bill Williams breached his contract by walking out on
the club after having signed a contract which was legally binding. Through this law reform has
been further enhanced in Australian sport.
Compensatory damages of more than $68,000 were awarded and the court held that Bugden s
club bore vicarious liability for assault during being employed as a player. Vicarious liability is the
legal liability imposed on one person or agent (e.g. an employer) for the wrongful acts of another,
when those acts were done within the scope of the legal relationship between them, such as
employment.
The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) is a statutory authority of the Australian government.
This established the Australian Sports Commission Act 1989 (Cth), the ASC plays a role in the

Britney Spears Cultural Perspective
As a thirty five year old, Caucasian female, Britney came from an unstable home life. Britney
Spears experienced major successes in her life, but went through some major losses. As a group,
we are analyzing the period in Spears s life that she seemed to break away from social norms and
had odd behaviors: such as alcohol abuse, drug abuse, vulgar public actions, and changes to her
appearance. We intend to approach this period in her life with a sociocultural perspective in order
to get to the root of her spiral and how she came back on top.
The sociocultural perspective focuses on the impact of social and cultural context on an individual.
The theory stresses the interaction between developing people and the culture in which they live.
The main founder and contributor to the sociocultural perspective was Lev Vygotsky. This theory
suggests that human development is largely involved with social process ( Contemporary
Psychology: Sociocultural Perspective, n.d.). That can produce variation or proliferation without
any seemingly significant changes in complexity. Through time, producing a form of structure can
be qualitatively different from the ancestral form. For example, a person who grew up kissing each
other goodbye will most likely pass that onto their children. The environment that Spears has
experienced directly affected her rambunctious actions. In her childhood, she grew up in a
dysfunctional and disordered family due to the alcoholic rages of her father. From

Evelina By Frances Burney Essay
One of the defining characteristics of 18th century England was the contrast between the city and
the country. The people who lived in the city were as partial and loyal to their own environment as
the people who were brought up in the countryside, and the two groups developed opinions about
each other that were often based on bias and misunderstanding. Frances Burney s novel
Evelinapresents a comparison of city life and country life from the point of view of city and
country dwellers, showing how the country and the city were viewed differently by residents of
both places.
In Evelina, the inhabitants of the countryside appreciate the calm and peaceful lifestyle they enjoy
there. Whenever the characters of Burney s novel find ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This statement shows the condescending attitude of city dwellers toward the supposedly less
refined tastes of the inhabitants of rural England, who are easily entertained by a simple play.
Madame Duval also comments several times that Evelina is a foolish, ignorant country girl (149)
showing that she believes that the term country girl is synonymous with ignorance and foolishness.
On another occasion, Madame Duval actually uses the word country as an adjective, considering
what a shame it was to see [Evelina] such a poor country, shame faced thing, when [she] ought to
be a fine lady (101). Here, the prejudiced lady essentially defines country as lowly or common,
implying that fine ladies do not come from the countryside but can only be found in the more
sophisticated realm of the city. A reputation of wealth and success is the most important thing to
these city dwellers, and in their opinion, that cannot be found in the country.
City life is also viewed differently by those who live in the city and those who live in the
country. Just like country people, residents of the city are partial to their own environment. From
a city dweller s point of view, London life is the best because it is exciting and active. While they
are in London, the members of Evelina s party attend the opera, the theater, a ball, or some other
public place nearly every night, taking their tea in a box where they can be seen and admired

Sensitive Themes In The Song Forbidden, By Todrick Hall
I chose to use Forbidden, by Todrick Hall because his music addresses sensitive topics, such as
racism, struggles with being gay, and self acceptance. The song Forbidden is from his latest
album called Forbidden, which he has a YouTube channel where he created a video version of
each song. The videos and songs are about a society called Nacirema where being black and gay
is the norm, implying that it is a flip on our society. In the music video for Forbidden, the main
characters are encouraging the other refuges of love. They are singing and feeling a little defeated,
but towards the end everyone is feeling encouraged. The camera cuts to a few monitors, on them
we can see that the police have arrived with guns and riot shields. After the song

Prompt 1
Man vs. Machine Surplus Value output
Within society there has always been producers and consumers, those who work for the benefit of
others to gain in return a medium of exchange of wealth and salary for personal consumption at a
later time. But at what cost of these workers, what of the surplus or rather byproduct of labor that
workers create for capitalists to make economic profit of the workers? Their labor cost, according to
nineteenth century German economist Karl Marx, is then able to be appropriated by Capitalist and
in return allows then for economic profit/growth. This being the root of what we call capital
accumulation, or the gathering of objects of value to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The more mechanized a firm is in any sector tends to be more profitable than less mechanized ones
in the long run. However the investment in industrializing the workforce would have short term
ramifications of production of the machines, and the cost of human labor to put together the
machine. For instance a company could see a short run decrease in production and sales by their
investment into mechanized systems, however after the production of the machine, the rate of
output and efficiency of a company would be better off and more production then a company that
had not mechanized. We see here that in this day and age the there is a new dominant leader in the
market place is the industrial capitalist. By taking out the human labor and focus on mechanized
labor, firms then have the ability to allocate resources efficiently and effectively elsewhere and
reach a max level of production and profit. What Marx found puzzling about his surplus value
theory, is how do we determine the actual value of the machines? What seemed troubling to Marx
was how could we decipher the labor use of the worker and the capacity of the machines to
maximize production while being able to use incorporate them both so there is
Mos 3 this use of allocated efficiency in the workplace. What makes it difficult is without having
the mechanized labor; the rate of production drops but also decreases the labor force. In that, the
question is posed,

The Effects Of Chartist Gained Support On Economic Conditions
There is evidence within the extract to support each explanation of how chartism gained support,
however a reactions to economic conditions was stressed more by the speaker. This could of
been due to people believing this to be the most important part of chartism and related to it more.
Many people but not all, also believed that being part of the political movement would help to
resolve the economic condition, while also being part of a community in a time were social
exclusion was a major part of society.
The economic conditions was a major part in gaining support in chartism. Chartist reached out to
the working class people who were struggling within society. The poor law and tax increases was
making it harder for the working class people to survive, this lead to poverty and people entering
the workhouse. Another factor was the poor working conditions and low wages that were causing
ill heath. Evidence within the article to support how chartist gained support is with this nation
suffering its liberty and rights to be remorselessly trampled upon by murderous factions, jobbers
and commercial blood sucking vampires This is a sticking statement of how the middle class
employers were seen as a higher class of people, who were exploiting the working class. Another
point to make it that chartist struggled to gain support in agricultural places and that most of the
support came form industrial cities were the population was higher. A reference to this is seen in a

The Importance Of Love In The Novel Between Shades Of Gray
William Sloane Coffin once said, The world is too dangerous for anything but truth and too small
for anything but love. (good connection) Within the novel Between Shades of Gray, written by
Ruta Sepetys, the main character, Lina, gets transported to labor camps with her whole family
besides her father. Lina then spends most of her time at these labor camps being starved and
searching for her father. Throughout the whole experience of the labor camp, love is what keeps
Lina moving and stops her from giving up. The novel, Between Shades of Gray, written by Ruta
Sepetys, demonstrates love overcomes fear and suffering.
First of all, in the beginning of the novel, Lina finds love in her relationships which helps her defeat
all pain. As she suffers traumatic events, Lina finds hope through her friends and family, allowing
her to survive horrendous labor camps. Additionally, expressing their strong connection, Lina also
learns to cling onto her friends and family mentally when they physically aren t there. When Lina
gets seperated from her boyfriend, Andrius, he gives Lina a stone to remember him by. While
feeling alone one night, Lina says, I will see you...I will. I reached into my pocket and squeezed
the stone (336). This stone symbolizes their love and hope to just see each other again. Without
this stone to hold onto, Lina would probably give up. Then, soon after Lina found out her father
died in prison, which built onto all the stress and suffering in her life. Before

1A. Market failure is a situation in which the allocation of goods and services is not efficient. In
any given market, the quantity of a product demanded by consumers does not equate to the
quantity supplied by suppliers. This is a direct result of a lack of certain economically ideal factors,
which prevents equilibrium.
Some major reasons that a free, unregulated market in medical care might night be optimal are:
Imperfect information, asymmetric information, barriers to entry, and third party payers. *
Imperfect information is a major reason because in medical markets, patients are not fully informed

1B. In the real world, a perfectly competitive market rarely exists. One or more assumptions are
violated in most markets and this is certainly the case in the pharmaceutical market. * Monopoly
Power. Pharmacists often face questions from patients regarding how prices of medications are
determined and why, in some cases, they are so expensive. Unlike markets for other goods, in the
pharmaceutical marketplace there are a limited number of manufacturers and the medication being
sold are not identical, but rather are differentiated. There is a guarantee via patent protection that
no potential competitor may manufacture an identical drug and sell it at a lower price in the short
run. As a result, the branded manufacturer is able to make profits. Since there is only one seller,
the monopolist determines the price of the medicine. This establishes the monopolist as a price
setter, permitting prices above the perfectly competitive price by controlling the quantity of
medication produced in the marketplace. This is in stark contrast to being a price taker, and
accepting a price established within a perfectly competitive marketplace. The end result is that
prices are higher under these market conditions than they would be in a purely competitive
marketplace. * Barriers to Entry. A number of factors allow a pharmaceutical manufacturer to act as

Art Of The Renaissance Art
Visual Arts of the Italian High Renaissance
Oscar Wilde, through the character Cyril in his essay The Decay of Lying, states that Life
imitates Art far more than Art imitates Life , arguing that the real world is a mirror and art
represents what is truly real (Wilde 38). While this argument may be possibly be true, but standing
between what we call reality and the world of the artistic resides the artist, who ultimately decides
how to present the world to his audience. Artists during the Renaissance and the later part of the
period called the High Renaissance in particular would strengthen the existing artistic techniques as
well as create new modes and methods to depict the world in a new and more exciting ways.
Italian High Renaissance Artists
Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino. Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino, more commonly called simply Raphael
and widely known as the Prince of Painters , was born in the Italian town of Urbino in the year
1483. During his lifetime and career, Raphael was renowned primarily for his artistic skills as a
painter and for his frescoes, but later in he applied his skills to architectural endeavors and
created designs for both secular and religious buildings. As an architect he was well regarded and
for his work on the Santa Maria del Popolo Chapel as well as being granted a small commission
for architectural work in St. Peter s Basilica. Along with his contemporaries Leonardo da Vinciand

Love Stories In Disney
Since 1937, Disney films have been ruining the lives of children. From ideas like raising the
dead with love or receiving advice from talking animals. Disney is turning society into idiots.
The corporation, Disney manipulates children into gullible idiots through their own
imaginations with unrealistic love stories, absences of science and morals of good versus evil.
Although love is seen as ideal in society, Disney has warped it into a classic boy saves girl. This
is a universal theme for most classic Disney films such as Cinderella, Rapunzel, Snow White,
etc. Moreover, Disney has used saving damsels in distress to captivate its audience. Thus
creating these unimaginable love stories. For example, a prince searches for the maiden
Cinderella after she drops her glass slipper (Cinderella). In normal society men would hardly go
to such extents. However, Disney has yet to dabble in the art of same sex love stories, still they
feel beastility works. Hence The Beauty and the Beast. These ideas have been ruining how
women, especially little girls see their happy ever after. Disney s love stories always carry some
magic element to them thus making them even more unrealistic. Often in Disney films, the use of
magic is emphasised to add to the plot line, such as genies, fairy godmothers, shapeshifting, true
love s kiss, and so on. Magic takes the science out of the film thus making the children watching,
have overly complex imaginations that do not fit reality. They will

Jane Elliott s Exercises
Blue or Brown Eyes
1.I believe that I would do fine in taking part in Jane Elliott s exercises. I have a unique view due
to my circumstances from being a non religious asexual aspie (Asperger s). I have found that
everything someone does can be traced back to a reason. Yes there is something for me to gain
by taking her session however I am unsure what it is. I took socialization classes when I was
younger at UC DAVIS that at the time didn t think would really help me. They played a vital
part in allowing me to advance to the stage I am at but at the time I didn t think it was important.
Even though I don t know what I would get new experiences are a way to grow. The most
important lessons to take away from this I believe are awareness and personal experience bias.
Awareness is something that until it is put in to public knowledge the issue will never move on. For
example the amount of funding that breast cancer gets compared to most other medical issues is
huge. The reason for that is the awareness level of breast cancer in the public eye and how common
it is for a high level of personal experiences with it in some way. Personal ... Show more content on

I think that to unlearn racism is something that only society as a whole can do. Only by society
striving to solve not only the issue of racism but all isms will we move forward. I think Jane
Elliot s lessons work in that it gives the people who partake firsthand experience. However I don
t think it will ever solve the real issue overall. Society has to take responsibility in solving this
issue. The most effective method I believe would be mandatory ostracizing similar to mandatory
military service. It would give everyone personal experience in dealing with being the out group.
However this would be rather harsh the best method would be something that deals with the issue
of mindset confirmation bias and logic. If we could teach everyone about how their minds affect
them and that everyone has their own issues would be the best

The Effects Of The American Jobs Creation Act
In 2004, under George W. Bush s administration, the American Jobs Creation Act was passed. This
Act was created with the intent to boost the United States Economy by allowing a corporation with
profits overseas one year to repatriate at a noticeably low tax rate. While the corporations did
repatriate a sizeable amount of money back into the United States, they used the low tax rate to
repurchase their own stock or to pay larger dividends to their shareholders. The tax holiday did
cause a large boost in revenue for the United States Treasury. However, the American Jobs Creation
Act did not do what is so clearly in its title, it did not create jobs or invest further in the United

taxes on.
The American Jobs Creation Act of 2004 decreased the tax liability for foreign earnings
repatriated into the United States. This one time decrease lowered the maximum tax rate for
overseas profit from 35 percent to 5.25 percent. However, due to foreign tax credits, the average
tax rate corporations actually paid was 3.7 percent. The largest two types of corporations to
repatriate their foreign earnings were the pharmaceutical and technology sectors. According to a
news article written by Lynnley Browning in 2008, the tax break gave each company claiming it
an average $370 million in tax deductions (Browning 2008). During 2004 the number of United
States Corporations with foreign subsidiaries totaled around 9700. As stated above only 843
corporations participated in the Repatriation Tax Holiday. Of these 843, over 30 percent of total
repatriation is accounted for by the pharmaceutical manufacturers alone. On average these 29
pharmaceutical manufacturers each claimed a tax deduction on overseas profits of $3 billion.
The 2004 Act faced both scrutiny and support. The results from the Act can be looked at two
different ways. On one hand, the tax break brought money into the Treasury coffers that would not
have been recognized without the Repatriation Tax Holiday. The money brought into the Treasury
coffers amounted to around $18 billion. Also, while some critics say that corporations used the tax
break

Vietnam s Bank Risk Management Dam Dan Luy EVALUATION OF CREDIT RISK MANAGEMENT POLICIES AND PRACTICES IN A VIETNAMESE JOINTSTOCK COMMERCIAL BANK‟S TRANSACTION OFFICE Business Economics and Tourism 2010 1 FOREWORD At this moment, the financial sector still attracts a lot of controversy both at the regulator and the banker level. The regulators have been discussing on tighter banking rules. At the same time, the banks have also been strengthening their own health with stricter supervision, one of which is to reinforce credit risk management practices. Moreover, the State Bank of Vietnam‟s regulations, the bank‟s internal policies and annual reports as well as the transaction office‟s business results also provide significant findings for the research. The analysis of both primary and secondary data shows that this bank has been trying to adopt a close to standard credit risk management framework with numerous published documents governing the day to day credit activities. Some good points are a complete lending procedure or a standard internal credit rating system SYMBOLS. However when it comes to actual operation, some aspects should be considered, e.g. the staff training quality or the priority treatment to high value customers. Especially, the high non performing loans at the transaction office and the non complied loss provision must be reviewed and adjusted. These discoveries have led to several constructive improvement suggestions for the case bank. Besides, recommendations for new research directions have also been made. • 5. Essay about New Social Movements, how they arose and... What factors account for the rise of new social movements and what effect have they had on contemporary society? We are all familiar with the stories of suffragettes burning their bras, and environmental enthusiasts breaking into labs and liberating rats back to the wild. But what caused women to abruptly rip of their pinnies, tell dad dinner s in the dog and start running around without appropriate underwear? What caused contented homemakers to leave the cosy warmth of their gas fires in favour of chaining themselves to trees? And are such people an eccentric minority, or have they profoundly affected the way we live and think in the western world today? To address these questions I will begin by defining New Social Movements (or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These must successfully organise strong turnouts for activities, exchange information and show solidarity. The stronger the networks the stronger the movement The tactical characteristic is the aspect which sets social movements apart from other forms of political action. All movements engage in at least some action outside of the institutional or legal channels of political access. (Lovenduski and Norris, 1996). There is a diverse range of NSMs fighting for causes from the environment to women to the elderly to the blacks. For the purposes of this essay I will inspect only a couple in detail, but it should be retained that they are examples of a bigger wave. Two of the best known movements are the environmental or Green movement, and the Women s movement. Both have evolved over the past hundred years into strong and extremely influential political leagues. Both have the ideological aspect, wanting to change the general public s approach to their respective causes the environment and equality between sexes. They also have the organisational factor, with now impressive and far reaching channels of communication. And finally they have the tactical factor, having utilized many different methods of expressing and arguing their opinions. The Green movement has distinct personal and public fields, campaigning for specific issues such as pollution, renewable energy sources while also questioning the basic values of a developed industrial society which assumes ... Most people do not want to come off as racist or inconsiderate, sometimes they are just curious. I have experienced microaggressions in my life, but have not thought of them like that. It was usually something along the lines of: What are you? or Where are you from? I didn t think about the meaning, or if it was considered rude or not. I would casually respond with a polite laugh and say I m Cambodian. It wasn t a big deal to me, because I hadn t thought of people as being intentionally rude. • 8. Organic Farming vs Factory Farming Essays Many consumers and farmers have discovered that living in an industrialized culture where the focus has become faster, bigger, and cheaper is not the best way to produce our food. Obsessed with productivity, the agriculture industry is reaping the negative consequences of creating an unsustainable environment for food production. Time and time again, the media captures stories regarding deadly bacterial contamination and dangerous pesticidecontamination causing illness and death in our communities. The environment is also damaged and contaminated. This devastating trend, due to irresponsible farming practices as a result of the industrialization of the food industry, has become all too common. Returning to organic farming,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As the soil becomes more and more polluted with these toxins, it becomes unsustainable. Therefore, land that would have remained fertile for centuries through the commonsense farming of our ancestors, is being ruined by farming controlled by big corporations whose sole interest is in immediate short term profit (Goodall 38). Industrialized livestock farming with thousands of animals crammed into small factory spaces is responsible for numerous bacterial and viral infections such as E.coli., Avian bird flu, Mad cow disease, Salmonella, and many more. Therefore, conventional farmers use antibiotics to keep these animals alive. This over use of antibiotics is causing the creation of new, resistant strains of deadly diseases that kill people and animals. Disease is actually caused by the bad practices, shortcuts, and antibiotic resistance. This has the opposite effect of what was intended and also costs farmers millions of dollars every year instead of saving money. Unfortunately, conventional agricultureexperts recommend these monocultural farming practices in the name of quick, mass production. Current conventional farming practices are also responsible for many pollution problems that would not exist otherwise. The land where we live and grow our food, the water we drink, and the air we breathe are all being contaminated. The large amounts of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers used on our crops are poisoning the soil, air, and water. Toxic heavy metals such ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The idea of putting something in the wound creating pus, which infects the wound is the way the ancient Egyptians medicine practiced. Epidemics killed thousands as well meaning doctors choose to infect the wounds of their patients. The doctors that have listened to the biblical health rules prevented the spread of infection and epidemics. Leprosy killed millions and spread terror throughout the medieval days. While doctors had not a clue as to how this epidemic started or how to treat it, the church leadership abided by the instructions of Moses, given to him by God. A person with leprosy was to live outside the camp away from people, not because he was being punished, but to keep the spreading of the disease to the people. Norway had an epidemic in the late 1700s. they did not understand that the disease spread, and it became out of control, until Norway acted on the biblical rules to separate the diseased people. Coming back to the IMF report findings, it says, to regain macroeconomic stability, Pakistan needs to expand its economy 5 7% per annum over the next 5 years period, create adequate number of jobs, improve income distribution and liberalize the economy, and set gear for transparent privatization. The IMF needs to understand that the epicenter of Pakistan s problem is the political economy of the country than the economy itself. The two core issues that needed to be addressed immediately are; improvement in security situation and the economic governance. The government is running out of choices as on the one hand it has to meet the harsh conditionalities of the IMF and on the other has to save the economy from total collapse balancing the two wheels is rather a difficult job for the economic managers of the country. The harsh IMF conditions at the moment are doing no good to the economy, instead, have added to the frustration of common men. All of us already know how in the future we will be technologically advanced with computers and cars but we don t know how the world will work. Will the world come to full stop and fail, adapt and progress or if it will go back to the roots of our ancestors to run properly. Will the world deteriorate into a kind of international neo feudalism? Or are we on the brink of a Second Renaissance. The Multilinear Events Sequencing (MES) as mentioned in the relevant chapter of the book acts as an alternative to the ECF charts. It was an ideology that the state should have little to no intervention in people s lives and in the economy. It was the theory that any family could support itself if that income was managed wisely, and a pension could be saved for. The key pillars of old liberalism was low taxes and low state intervention. There was a thought among the British public that as long as the economy was growing, eventually prosperity would filter down to the lower classes. But as the economy began to shrink, according to Lee it eroded the attractions of industrial growth as a panacea for society s ills. Victorian notions were rapidly becoming out of date and viewed as wrong, not only economically, but morally as well. In London and York, studies showed that a third of people lived in poverty as a direct result of simply not having a large enough income to cover their basic needs, while thousands more lived in poverty due to inadequate education to manage there finances. Phillips Introduction Phillips started out in Holland and became very successful, very quickly, becoming the third largest light bulb producer in Europe. Phillips continued to focus on light bulbs as others in the industry began to branch out. By 1919, however, Phillips entered into an agreement with General Electric and began to become a less centralized company and into a more decentralized sales organization. Eventually, responsiveness extended beyond adaptive marketing. They began to take from one market and implement into another. However, the high notes in the tenor part on measures 113 114, singing an octave from G3 to G4, could be challenging for amateur singers as this is a high pitch that requires a soft dynamic. The most challenging section would be measure 83, singing the repeating G5 and then moving down by a half step to F sharp5. This could create intonation problems for amateur singers. In this section, the basses are holding the D4 for three beats, which could be a challenge for amateur singers as well. This makes it quite hard for legislators to find some middle ground with street artists in order to keep everyone happy. Legislators all around have tried creating sanctioned spaces or areas where graffiti, though not legal, can be tolerated in attempts to isolate the so called issue. An example of such an area is Graffiti Alley in Ann Arbor, which was originally an area for commissioned murals but has now been taken over by graffiti artists who cover up the murals with tags, pieces, and more street art (Dobrin). That s about fifteen percent of the total number of kids in the foster care system. For ages people have been against homosexual adoption because they think only heterosexuals should be able to adopt children. Fortunately, as of June 2015, homosexual adoptionis legal in all fifty states. Just imagine if the thousands of kids did not have a home just because homosexuals were not allowed to adopt. That would be 65,000 more kids who do not have a home or live in foster care. Some adolescents might even live out on the streets or in unsafe places. Although many may think that same sex couples are unfit to raise and adopt kids, children of same sex couples are actually happier and healthier than when raised by heterosexual couples. For many, the thought of there being a child with two mothers or two fathers is simply atrocious. Some people do not think that homosexuals are fit for the role of a parent. Similarly, if another customer deposits ВЈ400, the bank would have to reserve ВЈ80 and may convert the remaining ВЈ320 into loans or purchase government securities (Howell Bain, 2008). Nevertheless, it should be noted that the change in the money multiplier depends on the reserve requirement ratio and the public s willingness to deposit currency (Vasudevan, 2003). For instance, when the depositor keeps less currency it will have an effect on deposit as it will be multiplying more. In comparison, if the depositor holds more currency then less multiple deposits will occur (Ireland, 2010). Conversely, the banking system are required to keep a portion of the depositor funds for precautionary circumstances and the rest may be converted in to loans, thereby increasing the available cash by a factor that is a multiple of the initial deposit (Business Dictionary, 2010). • 36. Physics Of Physics And Engineering Mechanics By the time I reached senior high school, I knew I wanted to study mechanical engineering, but I hadn t decided on a focus. Then, near the end of my junior year, I attended a family function at my aunt and uncles house. A number of my siblings and cousins had piled onto their trampoline, and eventually a bracket in the underside of the trampoline failed. Fortunately, no one was hurt, but my uncle, who worked for Elliot Group, mentioned that a simple finite element model should have been able to identify the design deficiency. At the time, I didn t even know what finite element analysis was, so I did some research when I got home. What I found was a field that exactly suited my interests in applied mathematics and engineering mechanics. Since then, I have taken every opportunity possible to expand my knowledge of computational mechanics, and I hope to further that effort at the University of Illinois. My academic experience began freshman year of college, when I took a course on computational methods in engineering. As it was an honors course, the curriculum was extremely aggressive. We covered basic programming in both C++ and MATLAB, a number of numerical methods, and how to write strong technical papers. Since then, I have taken more advanced courses, but this one had the greatest effect on me because it impressed upon me the vast potential of computation methods. Many of the problems that are difficult to solve analytically could now be solved in the blink of an eye, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This increase can be posited as a reflection of societal changes and newly emerging educational priorities stemming from papers and reforms such as 1983 s A Nation at Risk and 2001 s No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) which have increased focus on standards and accountability through high stakes testing. The rigorous standards and associated accountability have created a demand for more time... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Most education stakeholders support the extended day of FDK because they believe it provides long term and short term academic advantages, behavioral benefits, as well as support to parents in the workforce. Length of Day There have been positive and negative outcomes found in the literature associated with the additional time a FDK student experiences. Early childhood theorists such as Piaget and Vygotsky speculate that larger blocks of time are necessary for young children to engage in the process of learning (Eliott, Kratochwill, Littlefield, Travers, 1996). Cooper, Allen, Patall, and Dent (2010) state that benefits of FDK include higher academic achievement, fewer grade retentions, easier transitions into first grade, better socialization and self esteem, less hurried instruction, fewer transitions, lower child care costs, more learning opportunities for low income children, and greater academic quality. A major argument repeated in the literature is the additional hours of kindergarten provided in FDK better prepares children for first grade which will result in decreased need for grade retention (Wang Johnstone, 1999). Ideally, the extra time in the school day allows for teachers to provide a relaxed classroom atmosphere in which children can experience kindergarten activities in a less hurried manner (McConnell Tesch, 1986). If this tragic event should happen, I know that I would probably be very agitated. Moreover, I would be soaked in fear and confusion. The first thing I, like any person, would do is seek a source of peace and tranquility so that I can think things through. For many people, music would be their soothing factor. However, if I were stranded on a desert island, I would not be calmed by music. Until this day, I have not created an emotional connection with music. It has never played a major role in my life and most likely never will. Therefore, if I were stranded on a desert island, music would be of no significance to me. A major reason for why music does not play a role in my life and would be of no benefit to me if I were stranded on a desert island is because of my religion. My religion is Islam. In Islam, it is preferred that people avoid listening to music. To be honest, I have listened to music several times in my life, but in none of those instances have I created any sentimental or emotional connection to it. The main reason for why my religion does not agree with music is because it is believed that anything that withdraws a person from reality is considered to be a distraction. Within my religion, it is believed that music takes a person away from reality. As a result, that person is lost in a dreamy state in which her or she can forget that God is watching. • 43. Britney Spears Cultural Perspective As a thirty five year old, Caucasian female, Britney came from an unstable home life. Britney Spears experienced major successes in her life, but went through some major losses. As a group, we are analyzing the period in Spears s life that she seemed to break away from social norms and had odd behaviors: such as alcohol abuse, drug abuse, vulgar public actions, and changes to her appearance. We intend to approach this period in her life with a sociocultural perspective in order to get to the root of her spiral and how she came back on top. The sociocultural perspective focuses on the impact of social and cultural context on an individual. The theory stresses the interaction between developing people and the culture in which they live. The main founder and contributor to the sociocultural perspective was Lev Vygotsky. This theory suggests that human development is largely involved with social process ( Contemporary Psychology: Sociocultural Perspective, n.d.). That can produce variation or proliferation without any seemingly significant changes in complexity. Through time, producing a form of structure can be qualitatively different from the ancestral form. For example, a person who grew up kissing each other goodbye will most likely pass that onto their children. The environment that Spears has experienced directly affected her rambunctious actions. The people who lived in the city were as partial and loyal to their own environment as the people who were brought up in the countryside, and the two groups developed opinions about each other that were often based on bias and misunderstanding. Frances Burney s novel Evelinapresents a comparison of city life and country life from the point of view of city and country dwellers, showing how the country and the city were viewed differently by residents of both places. Madame Duval also comments several times that Evelina is a foolish, ignorant country girl (149) showing that she believes that the term country girl is synonymous with ignorance and foolishness. On another occasion, Madame Duval actually uses the word country as an adjective, considering what a shame it was to see [Evelina] such a poor country, shame faced thing, when [she] ought to be a fine lady (101). Here, the prejudiced lady essentially defines country as lowly or common, implying that fine ladies do not come from the countryside but can only be found in the more sophisticated realm of the city. A reputation of wealth and success is the most important thing to these city dwellers, and in their opinion, that cannot be found in the country. But at what cost of these workers, what of the surplus or rather byproduct of labor that workers create for capitalists to make economic profit of the workers? The more mechanized a firm is in any sector tends to be more profitable than less mechanized ones in the long run. However the investment in industrializing the workforce would have short term ramifications of production of the machines, and the cost of human labor to put together the machine. For instance a company could see a short run decrease in production and sales by their investment into mechanized systems, however after the production of the machine, the rate of output and efficiency of a company would be better off and more production then a company that had not mechanized. We see here that in this day and age the there is a new dominant leader in the market place is the industrial capitalist. By taking out the human labor and focus on mechanized labor, firms then have the ability to allocate resources efficiently and effectively elsewhere and reach a max level of production and profit. What Marx found puzzling about his surplus value theory, is how do we determine the actual value of the machines? What seemed troubling to Marx was how could we decipher the labor use of the worker and the capacity of the machines to maximize production while being able to use incorporate them both so there is Mos 3 this use of allocated efficiency in the workplace. Some major reasons that a free, unregulated market in medical care might night be optimal are: Imperfect information, asymmetric information, barriers to entry, and third party payers. * Imperfect information is a major reason because in medical markets, patients are not fully informed about virtually every aspect of the medical transaction. One or more assumptions are violated in most markets and this is certainly the case in the pharmaceutical market. * Monopoly Power. Pharmacists often face questions from patients regarding how prices of medications are determined and why, in some cases, they are so expensive. Unlike markets for other goods, in the pharmaceutical marketplace there are a limited number of manufacturers and the medication being sold are not identical, but rather are differentiated. There is a guarantee via patent protection that no potential competitor may manufacture an identical drug and sell it at a lower price in the short run. As a result, the branded manufacturer is able to make profits. Since there is only one seller, the monopolist determines the price of the medicine. This establishes the monopolist as a price setter, permitting prices above the perfectly competitive price by controlling the quantity of medication produced in the marketplace. This is in stark contrast to being a price taker, and accepting a price established within a perfectly competitive marketplace. The end result is that prices are higher under these market conditions than they would be in a purely competitive marketplace. * Barriers to Entry. Disney is turning society into idiots. The corporation, Disney manipulates children into gullible idiots through their own imaginations with unrealistic love stories, absences of science and morals of good versus evil. Although love is seen as ideal in society, Disney has warped it into a classic boy saves girl. This is a universal theme for most classic Disney films such as Cinderella, Rapunzel, Snow White, etc. Moreover, Disney has used saving damsels in distress to captivate its audience. Thus creating these unimaginable love stories. For example, a prince searches for the maiden Cinderella after she drops her glass slipper (Cinderella). In normal society men would hardly go to such extents. However, Disney has yet to dabble in the art of same sex love stories, still they feel beastility works. Hence The Beauty and the Beast. These ideas have been ruining how women, especially little girls see their happy ever after. Disney s love stories always carry some magic element to them thus making them even more unrealistic. Often in Disney films, the use of magic is emphasised to add to the plot line, such as genies, fairy godmothers, shapeshifting, true love s kiss, and so on. They played a vital part in allowing me to advance to the stage I am at but at the time I didn t think it was important. Even though I don t know what I would get new experiences are a way to grow. The most important lessons to take away from this I believe are awareness and personal experience bias. Awareness is something that until it is put in to public knowledge the issue will never move on. For example the amount of funding that breast cancer gets compared to most other medical issues is huge. The reason for that is the awareness level of breast cancer in the public eye and how common it is for a high level of personal experiences with it in some way. Personal ... Only by society striving to solve not only the issue of racism but all isms will we move forward. I think Jane Elliot s lessons work in that it gives the people who partake firsthand experience. During 2004 the number of United States Corporations with foreign subsidiaries totaled around 9700. As stated above only 843 corporations participated in the Repatriation Tax Holiday. Of these 843, over 30 percent of total repatriation is accounted for by the pharmaceutical manufacturers alone. On average these 29 pharmaceutical manufacturers each claimed a tax deduction on overseas profits of $3 billion. The 2004 Act faced both scrutiny and support.
