The Anunciation And Expulsion From Paradise Summary
Giovani di Paolo s The Annunciation and Expulsion from Paradise is currently in the National Gallery
of Art in Washington DC. According to the panel next to the artwork, the piece was finished in 1435
CE and made of tempera on panel. This Sienese altarpiece from the start of the Italian Renaissance
shows the experimentation of form at that time. Giovanni di Paolo uses golden texture to display
divinity, line to illustrate architectural perspective, and a strategic use of scale throughout the
composition in order to portray the importance of the religious context. The golden foil that
compliments tempera works at the time draws your eye to specific points in the piece. Drawing your
eye to the upper left corner, the golden material then aids the eye in traveling down towards the
bottom right corner. Because the largest golden form is in the upper right corner, your sight starts
there. This is where god is represented and the symbol for divinity starts. Divinity implied by golden
nimbuses or halos continue throughout the piece around the head of divine figures. The only two
figures on the left without nimbuses represent Adam and Eve who are no longer divine one kicked out
of paradise. This relates to the second part of the title, Expulsion from Paradise. For obvious cultural
reasons, the angels have the heavenly halos. One angel is specifically known, Archangel Gabriel,
because of the annunciation scene with Mary in the center. Joseph, at the right, and Mary both also

Genocide In Syria
Genocide in Syria, The Religion conflicts between Syrian and The regime of Assad
In eyes of the world, as well as a large part of the Arab world, Bashar al Assad is portrayed as a
ruthless dictator. Almost nobody seems to consider the motives of the Syrian president. What few
know is that Assad enjoys significant support from both his Alawite people and other minority groups.
The Alawites and other minorities have little choice; Syrian rebels and Islamist terror groups could

Theme Of Heroism In The Iliad
Categorizing Heroism in the Iliad
Throughout The Iliad, Homer paints several poetically visceral scenes of violence that keep the reader
engaged on a primal level and simultaneously appeals to our emotional side by recounting the
dramatic triumphs in addition to the harrowing failures of its heroes. Identifying the traits that render
these characters heroic allows the reader to internalize and understand the values that were most
important to Homer, a member of Greek society between the eighth and seventh centuries BCE. In
book ten, the author uses the night raid undertaken by Diomedes and Odysseus as a way to develop
two distinct types of heroic behaviour by contrasting the two heroes and their individual approaches
taken when faced with a variety of situations that test their character. The epithets used to describe the
characters, compounded with the techniques they utilize to deal with the enemy scout Dolon, and the
different roles they fall into when raiding the Thracian camp all effectively contribute to the
categorization of these two distinct types of heroes.
There are innumerable named characters in the Iliad, which consequently leads to the widespread use
of epithets throughout. In order to circumvent making the reader remember every trait of every
character, Homer uses epithets to distill the essence of a character down to a single word or a
memorable bite sized phrase. This allows for constant reinforcement of important characteristics of the
multitudes of important characters. Since epithets serve such a major role in understanding the
important particularities of a character, they can be easily employed as a comparative tool. In book 10,
the epithets attached to Diomedes are powerful (lines 369, 446), strong (line 536), brave (line 559),
and of the great war cry (lines 219, 241, 283, 345). These adjectives conjure up images of a great,
physical presence and of a man skilled in battle, which are obviously traits that are revered and
welcomed when fighting a war. These attributes form the first archetype of hero used in by Homer,
that of the fighting hero . Menelaus, Achilles, Hektor, Telemonious Ajax and several other fierce
warriors additionally represent this type of hero.

Analysis Of The Eyes Of Regan And Singer
The book Ishmael is about how a telepathic gorilla teaches cynical writer how to prevent the world
from destruction. Daniel Quinn chooses to use a telepathic gorilla to demonstrate the link between
nature and human kind. The need for this link is due to the separation of humans and nature caused by
human kind. The main idea of Ismael s philosophy is humans have taken our lives out the natural
order and laws. Humans have been destroying themselves for years, and the only way to survive is to
be connected one with nature. Individualism, in the eyes of Regan and Singer, is with each individual
being be treated with equality. Ishmael believes that each being should be apart of a community.
In the following essay, I will argue how Ishmael s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The animal rights movement and the progression, is because of individualists, and the work they have
done is worthy in it s own right. Singer and Regan will be used to demonstrate the ideals of
Environmental Individualism.
Regan introduces his stance in The Case for Animal Rights on how we view non humans as less than
the intrinsic value. Regan s mentality is about how we have this sense of value for each other, and how
we should translate that respect and value to others, like animals. We treat immoral humans
(criminals) with basic human respect (food, shelter, and hygiene). While, there are some people that
do not take care of animals with the same respect as we treat humans. Animals are a part of the world
that we live in, but we have grown used to seeing animals as lower than us. Regan s viewpoint shows
how we should see all beings as equals with inherent value. Regan sees this as part of the Respect
Principle, a principle where we treat individuals who have inherent value in ways that respect their
inherent value (322). His main argument is that everything has a subject of life criterion. Subject of
life criterion is the philosophy that everything is alive with inherent value.
Due to every individual, human and non human, being alive with inherent value, Regan has a stance
against hunting for sport, and uses his idea of the rights view to battle against it. The rights view is the
policies that lessen the total amount of

Critical Analysis of the Skull Beneath the Skin Essay
It could be said that The Skull beneath the Skin is quite typical of the crime genre, however P.D.
James has somewhat subverted the genre. The novel incorporates a combination of Intuitionist, Realist
and Hard Boiled styles of crime fiction. Usually crime novels fall into one of the three afore
mentioned styles. Although obviously an Intuitionist or classically styled crime novel, Skull beneath
the Skins as I have previously stated incorporates all three creating a unique novel while still
following the traditions and conventions of the crime genre. This can be seen from this essay reference
will be made to setting, dialogue, characterisation, dramatic irony, humour, narrative structure and the
conventions of crime fiction.

The reader is presented with a group of characters all struggling with troubled lives. Following the
strictures of the Intuitionist text this serves the purpose of making all characters a suspect in the
inevitable murder investigation. The reader is introduced to three main stereotypes throughout Skull
beneath the Skin; the detective, the victim and the murderer/ villain.
The detective in the Shull beneath the Skin Cordelia Gray is typical of the intuitionist text. Cordelia is
not perfect but she seems to be morally better than all those around her in particular the occupants of
Courcey Island. This particular trait makes her the Goodie in the reader s eyes. She is clever and apt at
seeing through the deceptions around her. However she hides this behind a somewhat dithering
exterior to make her job at Courcey Island less conspicuous.
Also introduced in the novel is the character of Clarissa Lisle the victim. True to the Intuitionist style
Clarissa is immoral and a completely despicable character who the reader cannot like at all. This puts
more intrigue into the murder investigation because with such a nasty victim many people could have
reason to want her dead. In this case almost everyone on Courcey Island has felt the bitter edge of
Clarissa Lisle.
The last major character stereotype that the novel S.B.T.S includes is the murderer/criminal. Generally
as the name suggests the criminal is the person who

Classical Conditioning Phobias
Many people have severe phobias and report feelings of anxiety and panic when confronted with these
fears. Learning principles may help explain why this anxiety may provide possible solutions. Some
with phobias, report a shortness of breath and a racing heartbeat when confronted with their fear. One
reaction may be a girl who was bitten by a men stray dog. This girl, let s call her Sally, now cries or
cowers behind something whenever a dog is near. Using classical conditioning we can see how this
happened, why she feels this way, and possible look at a way to end this fear once and for all. Now let
s roll through the classical conditioning model. Starting with the UCS (Unconditioned Stimulus) this
is when Sally gets bitten by the dog. The UCS ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sally is hysterical, the pain makes her scream as she tries to run away from the dog and hide. This is a
normal response for a child to have. This helps her remember that dogs are bad, in her mind she feels
this, she has been through and experience in which it has stamped itself into her brain. Now the CS
(Conditioned Stimulus) is the dog itself, or dogs in general. The sight of a dog or even a bark or growl
can set little Sally off in a crying or cowering manner. The dog, or dogs, become the conditioned
stimulus because it is the memory of the previous interaction. After it is all said and done, the sight of
the dog or dogs will set her off yes. She will feel panicked and have shortness of breath., When you
are in counter with your fears you tend to become tensed. You will have anxiety, which creates an
uptick in your heart rate, including a slight shortness in breath. Same thing when people have panic
attacks. When you re in counter with your fear you have nowhere else to run, sometimes, and so this
makes you feel shut inside a small cube, one that you cannot get out. So Sally panics and she tried to
run, she will cry at the sight of a dog or a slight sound of a bark. This is known as the CR
(Conditioned response) the CR is the same as the UCR. Sally will feel like this everytime she sees or

What Is There More Misery During The French Revolution
In the book Les Miserables, during the barricade scene, a group of boys, seemingly senseless, sacrifice

barricade, setting up the barricade itself, and the end of the fight, without doubt the group of young
men and women who died for their beliefs were a big part of the story. During the 1800s, many events
were happening that made the people of France angry and caused tension between them and the
government. During the reign of King Louis XVI in France, he was neglecting the people of his
country, leaving them with very little to no sanitation and food. In the quote There is always more

The Importance Of Education In The 1920 s
The 1920 s was an extravagant decade in American history. Many people had bought new items, such
as radios, and played the stock market without worrying about the loans they used for the new items
and stock market. The 1920 s also brought about change in the United States, such as women s
suffrage and Prohibition. Despite Prohibition making the consumption and possession of alcohol
illegal, many people went to speakeasies to drink alcohol. The government could not effectively
control the drug and alcohol use in the 1920 s, but it did have control over education. With the
government s ability to control education, it gained importance and attention in the 1920 s.

Analysis Of Gloria Naylor s The Women Of Brewster Place
Within Gloria Naylor s The Women of Brewster Place and Amiri Baraka s Dutchman , there is a heavy
emphasis on society. Particularly how society influences interaction not just among African
Americans, but interactions among whites and African Americans as seen is Baraka s Dutchman.
However, both novels also continue to portray a reoccurring theme that has been prevalent within this
course, which is the struggle of African American s in society. Throughout both works, society plays a
large role on the interactions that occur both interracially and intraracially. In The Women of Brewster
Place , Gloria Naylor represents many aspects that trouble African Americans faced during an era
where whites looked down upon them. Naylor places a larger emphasis on society due to the living
dynamic that is present during The Women of Brewster Place. Although, the novel is broken down
into several different narratives, which focuses on certain individuals, it portrays a sense of
community within each story told; therefore, linking society to each individual s attitude and
perspective. The community within Brewster place brings many different personalities together from
many different generations. The reason for this is due to the setting of Naylor s novel, which takes
place in a large community of migrant African Americans. Living in a community with people who
came from similar conditions causes the residents to bond over the hardships that many of them have

They are calling for an evaluation of policies which continue to increase incarceration and
improvement of criminal justice as this population reaches historical high level in America. There are
over 2 million individuals housed in national jails or prisons and nearly 5 million individuals on parole
or probation. United States of America leads the world in punishment and incarceration, and the cost
of the correctional system now surpasses $60billion annually. The rise in the costs and size of
correctional facilities occurs after nearly two decades of tough reforms on crime. These tough on
crime reforms got the support of both Republican and Democratic administrators in response to the
increasing crimes rates experienced since 1970s. Ironically, the unabated correctional costs and

apparent that in as much as prison systems are costing the government more money, they are

that it is okay to be afraid but you would never let anything bad happen to them. They also mention
that it is important to talk it out have them describe the monster in their closet by asking specific

the lines of Gods bowling and the angels are playing flashlight tag . Another thing you could say is

Benefits Of Subsidizing Stem Classes
College is where you will find many opportunities which is why people should attend college. Many
high paying jobs are out there waiting for someone with the degree they desire to come forth. Not only
will college make you a better person, but will also take you on an unforgettable journey. Some people
may not understand the logic between right, and wrong and what is better than to learn about
philosophical ideas, if the new republic was to flourish and endure, it required, above all, an education
(Singletary 10). Subsidizing STEM classes is a bad idea because lack interest will occur, many jobs
will be at stake, and Arts would be too expensive. In the Education: Does College Still Matter short
passage, Tabarrok thought it would be best that the people who choose STEM degrees, should have
subsidized taxes. There is little justification for subsidizing sociology, dance, and English majors
(Tabarrok 5). This would not be beneficial because it discourages the people who wanted to chase
their dream career. For example, an intelligent female may want to be an English teacher, but knowing
that her journey to get that education will cost drastically more, than she will choose a different career,

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Virtue Ethics
Virtue Ethics is neither deontological nor teleological, since it is concerned with neither duty nor
consequences, but rather the state of the person acting. Aristotle believed that once you are good, good
actions will necessarily follow, and this belief is at the centre of Virtue Ethics. Rather than defining
good actions, Virtue Ethics looks at good people and the qualities that make them good. The non
normative theory, although very effective in determining the morality of individuals, is particularly
flawed when applied to whole societies. This weakness is largely due to its imprecision and
abstraction; however, before these weaknesses can be considered, it is necessary to give an account of
the theory itself. Virtue Ethics is centred on the belief that everything has a purpose and that, when
something fulfils its purpose, it is good. For example, the purpose of a knife is to cut, and so a knife
that cuts well has achieved its purpose. This links in to Aristotle s ideas about the Four Causes and the
Final Cause. Plato and Aristotle agreed that the purpose of humanity was the fulfilment of flourishing,
and this is known as eudaimonia. When a person has achieved eudaimonia they will be fully content
with their lives and they will act morally because they want to. He referred to eudaimonia as an end in
itself . Aristotle insists that this telos can only be achieved through the use of reason, since the ergon
(function) of reason in practice is virtue. He says: The good

remain within the blades. These leftovers will contribute to the early decay of the metal, and leave
offensive odors. Buy a small scrubbing brush that you will use only for your spiralizer. οƒ˜ Always

Medical Treatment And Conservative Measures
Pressure injuries in healthy, uncompromised patients normally exhibit effective healing characteristics
when pressure is effectively relieved from the affected areas.36However, in circumstances where
medical treatment and conservative measures has been ineffective, surgical treatment is an alternative
where necrotic tissue is excised along with any bony prominence and infected
bursa.37,38Unfortunately, according to Brown et al36 an incidence of 13% 56% recurrence has been
reported after a surgical repair of a pressure injury. Many factors are known to contribute to this
recurrence rate. Below, I will discuss some of these factors and how programs can be implemented to
improve on patient care outcomes.

Rehabilitation preoperatively
According to Kirney et al43 in order to improve on patient outcomes in this particular population, a
rehabilitation program should be initiated long before the surgery using an interdisciplinary team
approach. As there are many physical and psychosocial factors that require attention when optimizing
the healing proces,43 the patient would benefit from having a team (e.g. nurse and a social worker)
visit the patients home and assess the patient as a whole, identifying areas of concern, and address and
treat needs prior to surgery. A patient s social situation needs to be carefully reviewed and referrals
should be made to the appropriate disciplines. If a patient is a smoker for example, linking the patient
to a smoking cessation program for 4 6 weeks before surgery is ideal. According to Jones44 a 6 week
abstinence from smoking has shown improvements in a person s immune system response. If patients
struggle from other drug addictions and alcohol abuse, patients should be referred to the appropriate
addictions services for counseling as alcohol and drugs can reduce the patient s ability to obey
treatment orders.36 An evaluation of various nutritional parameters (urine urea nitrogen, hemoglobin,

Carol King Musical Analysis
The play that I went to see was Beautiful: The Carol King Musical. I attended opening night of this
play on Tuesday, February 21st of this year. This musical is about the true and remarkable story of her
uprising career. Carol started off as a song writer when she was only a teen writing with her future
husband, Gerry Goffin. The play is about an extraordinary person who battles everyday issues, but
ultimately overcomes the odds and adversities thrown at her. With her talent in music and singing;
Carol King went on to have one of the most successful solo acts in music history. King s story is truly
inspiring and this play attributes to her legacy not just as an artist but also a person. The play s genre is
musical theatre because singing and dancing are essential parts of the play. The director s purpose of
this play was to tell in great detail the life of American artist Carol King.
The play was performed at the lovely Peace Center. The Peace Center, which is a great fine arts
theatre in downtown Greenville. Has a stage that is known as a Proscenium stage with large curtains
from floor to ceiling. The sets varied from an office setting with a piano that was where Carol and her
husband would write music in the couple s home. The interesting thing about the set was that it all was
centered on and around her piano. The props were mainly the piano which could be seen in every
scene. In the office the props also consisted of a desk and some other different items you

The Bible As A Historical Document
I felt a very positive impression of who Jesus was after finishing the Book of Matthew. I had a new
image of someone who was a down to earth, caring individual. I did not find quotes of Jesus that
claimed being superior to the common man, of whom sinners could not look upon (a view that most
people had of their Gods for centuries before). Matthew 12:49 50,
Jesus announces to multitudes that they are his mother and brothers. In that way, he puts himself at an
equal level to the people, rather than claiming to be a God above them. This reflects the whole attitude
of the book. Chapters 6 7 of Matthew quote Jesus as he is presenting rules to live by to the multitudes.
To me, all of these sounded like hints to leading ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most of the parables needed to be explained to his disciples, and some of them I wasn t able to
understand either! Although many parables have a good, inspiring morals to them, I would question
Jesus as to if they were an effective way to witness to common people. Even today, too many people
read parables as
TRUTH, rather than just a story. Plus, they are misinterpreted. But, I have to tell you that an amazing
coincidence happened to me after I finished reading the Parable of The Pearl of Great Price. A couple
of hours later, I was watching an old episode of Star Trek on TV, and Scotty had actually quoted the
same, exact parable at the end of the show! Funny that the writers of Star Trek predict the future to
still hold the same religion as now, and 2000 years ago.
Both Matthew and Mark write about the part of Pilate in His crucifixion. It seems to me that Pilate
was a good guy , and did not really want to have Jesus killed because he did not see anything that He
did wrong (as compared to Barabbas, the murderer). (Mark 15:1 15) As a matter of fact, I see that
Pilate tried to give Jesus another chance by asking the crowd to choose to punish the Murderer, or
Jesus. Then, washed his hands of this crucifixion after the decision was made. Why is Pilate portrayed
as a Good Guy in these books while we know, historically, that
Pilate was NOT a friend to the Jews?

Formulations Of New Strategies For Optimal Ticket Pricing...
Formulations of new strategies to ensure optimum ticket pricing in order to support airliners avoid
losses and gain sustained profits in their operations
Abstract:
The overall aim of my research is to generate new feasible ticketing strategies to an airliner in order to
improve the revenue of the airliner. This research involves in understanding the current ticketing
strategies and the change in customers behavior with the change in prices. This research creates a
value to the airliner as a company by making profits and no loss at a least scenario, even if the airliner
operates with unoccupied seats.
Introduction:
The September 11 attacks left a major impact that the airline industry is yet to recover from. Extended
recession and increasing oil prices are the other major factors affecting the growth of the airline
industry. At this scenario, the airlines operating with unoccupied seats make huge losses and
sometimes the airliner even goes bankrupt; for instance, the kingfisher airlines in India has gone
bankrupt due to failure in managing the unoccupied seats and inefficient management in their ticket
pricing strategies. Even the recent disappearances of aircrafts from Malaysian airlines have
unfavorably affected the global airline industry leaving airlines operating with vacant seats.
It is very important for every airliner to create value for their shareholders; ticket pricing is the main
source that an airliner can make revenue from. Therefore, airliners should have

The Republic Of The Philippines
Introduction
The Philippines, officially known as the Republic of the Philippines, is a sovereign island that
comprises an archipelago of 7,107 islands located off Southeast Asia, between the Philippine Sea on
the east and the South China Sea on the west. The islands are categorized broadly under three major
islands which are Luzon in the north, the Visayan Islands in the center, and Mindanao in the south.
The Philippines total area is approximately 300,000 sq km, which includes approximately 298,000 sq
km of land. The country has no land boundaries. The capital of the Philippines is Manila and the
country s most populous city is Quezon City, both part of Metro Manila. The archipelago, a Spanish

There are many inherent structural similarities between the United States and the Philippine
governments. The Philippine government is divided into three branches the Legislative, Executive,
and Judicial branches. The Philippine Congress is also bicameral it is made up of the Senate and the
House of Representatives. The chief of the Executive branch in the Philippines is the President. The
Presidents of the Philippines and the United States have similar powers: commander in chief of the
military, the ability to enter into treaties with the concurrence of two thirds of the Senate, and the
power to appoint ambassadors, public ministers and consuls. Several amendments in the Philippine
Constitution were incorporated from the Constitution of the United States. Corruption and cronyism
are widespread in business and government. A few dozen leading families hold a disproportionate
share of land, corporate wealth, and political power. A culture of impunity, stemming in part from case
backlogs in the judicial system, hampers the fight against corruption. The rule of law is generally
weak as courts are hampered by inefficiency, low pay, intimidation, and corruption. Rodrigo Duterte,
former Davao City Mayor, was elected as President in May 2016 and assumed office on June 30th,
2016. One of his main campaign promises was to end corruption in the country by abolishing
Congress.

Just Mercy Book Report
As a young child I remember being asked the question: what do you want to be when you grow up.
While I struggled with the answer for many years, in the course of deep reflection I found that I knew
two truths about myself: I loved education, and I gained fulfillment through helping others.
Developing and learning in the course of my four years at Loyola University Chicago, I discovered a
passion to pursue a career in higher education.
The early years in my life were characterized by my childhood community in the western suburbs of
Chicago. My hometown was very sheltered with little diversity. Upon graduation from high school, I
knew I wanted to join a community where I would be challenged, supported, and most importantly, be
with those who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Going to college and being in a university setting was the first time my perspectives and ideas were
broadened. I was able to see the world outside my small suburb, and learned harsh realities, which I
was sheltered from my whole life. Social justice advocate, Bryan Stevenson, expounds the idea of
getting proximate to issues that one cares about. For me, getting proximate was accomplished by
being on a university campus, and learning from the ideas of others, as well as new, first hand
experiences. As I was supported and encouraged in my growth at Loyola, I want to provide the same
assistance for other students. Through my years I have excelled at organization and coordination,
skills that I hope to apply in order to help students in a university setting. More so, I want to help
support students who enter college, those who wish to expand their knowledge, viewpoints, and
minds. Higher education would offer me a unique opportunity where I would be able to support
students in their growth as a person, while offering encouragement and assistance to students
throughout their college

Raising Money in U.S. Stock Markets
1. Is raising money in U.S. stock markets more or less difficult than in the rest of the world? To start,
using the article that is cited for the class is...well, dated at the very least. The United States has gone
through at least a complete financial cycle since after the article was written. The tech bust and then
the quickly following tragedy of September 11, 2001 with the ensuing market meltdown were just the
beginning. Just to put it into perspective, During the last seven years, we ve had recession, 9 11, Rita,
Katrina, two wars, the mutual fund scandal, the meltdown in subprime, Enron, WorldCom and Martha

Is it wise for a U.S. corporation to list its stock on foreign stock exchanges? What are the possible
advantages and disadvantages of such a move? Listing on a foreign exchange brings the added risks of
uncertainty of the US dollar, trade embargoes, trade tariffs, foreign service fees, an entirely different
IRS reporting structure, and many other hurdles. If a company is big enough to have a financial
management section headed by a CFO, then it should not be very difficult to list on a foreign
exchange with enough program management. The advantages of listing of a foreign exchange include
greater exposure, opportunities in foreign markets that might otherwise be unattainable, and higher
profits. The disadvantages are much the same as in the setup; recurring foreign taxes, trade margin
fluctuations, and other foreign trade barriers. Overall, an ADR or move to forward markets would, for
a US based company, be a good move in the current economy. Exposure to foreign markets and
currencies would translate back to higher profits. For companies outside the US, moving in would be a
short term fiasco between the weakening dollar, but in the long run an excellent move because now is
the time to get into the US on the cheap . References Kathleen Gallagher (23 January). Don t panic,

Persuasive Speech On Underaged Drinking
Farkos 1 Ryan Farkos Mrs. Hall English II 14 December 2015 Underaged Drinking Let s jump to the
question of the day: Why is underaged drinking bad? Well, there are several reasons why underaged
drinking is bad. First of all, it s against the law, and you could easily go to prison for it. Second, it can
have negative effects on your personal health. Lastly, it can kill you if you re behind the wheel. I m
about to talk to y all about the underaged drinking issue, and its negatives. First of all, I just want to
say that underaged drinking is bad because it can kill you if you re behind the wheel. In fact, recent
studies show that nearly 17% of teens die from drunk driving every year, and that 17% is expected to
climb over the next few years. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

says, Raise your hand if you ve ever had beer. Now I ain t exactly sure if anyone else was raising their
hands after the one kid said what he said. But then about 2 seconds later, the rest of the group yells,
West Side *****!!! as loud as they could. That was when I decided to try some beer myself. So the
next day, I asked my dad if I could try some beer. He said yes, and he came back with a small glass of
beer. So while he was watching, I took the glass of beer, and drank it. When my dad turned back
around, he saw that I had the bottle in my mouth, and he started chasing me down the street. When he

having been the winner of the event in the previous games. She did not disappoint her fans and
clinched the gold once again, becoming the first woman to win a swimming event twice. During this
Olympics she also gained some criticism for her irresponsible and eccentric behavior. The Australian
team manager asked her to swim the butterfly leg of the medley relay in the games which she refused.
This gained her the wrath of her Australian teammates and officials. Continuing her streak of amazing

  • 2. The Anunciation And Expulsion From Paradise Summary Giovani di Paolo s The Annunciation and Expulsion from Paradise is currently in the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC. According to the panel next to the artwork, the piece was finished in 1435 CE and made of tempera on panel. This Sienese altarpiece from the start of the Italian Renaissance shows the experimentation of form at that time. Giovanni di Paolo uses golden texture to display divinity, line to illustrate architectural perspective, and a strategic use of scale throughout the composition in order to portray the importance of the religious context. The golden foil that compliments tempera works at the time draws your eye to specific points in the piece. Drawing your eye to the upper left corner, the golden material then aids the eye in traveling down towards the bottom right corner. Because the largest golden form is in the upper right corner, your sight starts there. This is where god is represented and the symbol for divinity starts. Divinity implied by golden nimbuses or halos continue throughout the piece around the head of divine figures. The only two figures on the left without nimbuses represent Adam and Eve who are no longer divine one kicked out of paradise. This relates to the second part of the title, Expulsion from Paradise. For obvious cultural reasons, the angels have the heavenly halos. One angel is specifically known, Archangel Gabriel, because of the annunciation scene with Mary in the center. Joseph, at the right, and Mary both also ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Theme Of Heroism In The Iliad Categorizing Heroism in the Iliad Throughout The Iliad, Homer paints several poetically visceral scenes of violence that keep the reader engaged on a primal level and simultaneously appeals to our emotional side by recounting the dramatic triumphs in addition to the harrowing failures of its heroes. Identifying the traits that render these characters heroic allows the reader to internalize and understand the values that were most important to Homer, a member of Greek society between the eighth and seventh centuries BCE. In book ten, the author uses the night raid undertaken by Diomedes and Odysseus as a way to develop two distinct types of heroic behaviour by contrasting the two heroes and their individual approaches taken when faced with a variety of situations that test their character. The epithets used to describe the characters, compounded with the techniques they utilize to deal with the enemy scout Dolon, and the different roles they fall into when raiding the Thracian camp all effectively contribute to the categorization of these two distinct types of heroes. There are innumerable named characters in the Iliad, which consequently leads to the widespread use of epithets throughout. In order to circumvent making the reader remember every trait of every character, Homer uses epithets to distill the essence of a character down to a single word or a memorable bite sized phrase. This allows for constant reinforcement of important characteristics of the multitudes of important characters. Since epithets serve such a major role in understanding the important particularities of a character, they can be easily employed as a comparative tool. In book 10, the epithets attached to Diomedes are powerful (lines 369, 446), strong (line 536), brave (line 559), and of the great war cry (lines 219, 241, 283, 345). These adjectives conjure up images of a great, physical presence and of a man skilled in battle, which are obviously traits that are revered and welcomed when fighting a war. These attributes form the first archetype of hero used in by Homer, that of the fighting hero . Menelaus, Achilles, Hektor, Telemonious Ajax and several other fierce warriors additionally represent this type of hero. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Analysis Of The Eyes Of Regan And Singer The book Ishmael is about how a telepathic gorilla teaches cynical writer how to prevent the world from destruction. Daniel Quinn chooses to use a telepathic gorilla to demonstrate the link between nature and human kind. The need for this link is due to the separation of humans and nature caused by human kind. The main idea of Ismael s philosophy is humans have taken our lives out the natural order and laws. Humans have been destroying themselves for years, and the only way to survive is to be connected one with nature. Individualism, in the eyes of Regan and Singer, is with each individual being be treated with equality. Ishmael believes that each being should be apart of a community. The animal rights movement and the progression, is because of individualists, and the work they have done is worthy in it s own right. Singer and Regan will be used to demonstrate the ideals of Environmental Individualism. Regan introduces his stance in The Case for Animal Rights on how we view non humans as less than the intrinsic value. Regan s mentality is about how we have this sense of value for each other, and how we should translate that respect and value to others, like animals. We treat immoral humans (criminals) with basic human respect (food, shelter, and hygiene). While, there are some people that do not take care of animals with the same respect as we treat humans. Animals are a part of the world that we live in, but we have grown used to seeing animals as lower than us. Regan s viewpoint shows how we should see all beings as equals with inherent value. Regan sees this as part of the Respect Principle, a principle where we treat individuals who have inherent value in ways that respect their inherent value (322). His main argument is that everything has a subject of life criterion. Subject of life criterion is the philosophy that everything is alive with inherent value. Due to every individual, human and non human, being alive with inherent value, Regan has a stance against hunting for sport, and uses his idea of the rights view to battle against it. • 10. Critical Analysis of the Skull Beneath the Skin Essay It could be said that The Skull beneath the Skin is quite typical of the crime genre, however P.D. James has somewhat subverted the genre. The novel incorporates a combination of Intuitionist, Realist and Hard Boiled styles of crime fiction. Usually crime novels fall into one of the three afore mentioned styles. Although obviously an Intuitionist or classically styled crime novel, Skull beneath the Skins as I have previously stated incorporates all three creating a unique novel while still following the traditions and conventions of the crime genre. This can be seen from this essay reference will be made to setting, dialogue, characterisation, dramatic irony, humour, narrative structure and the conventions of crime fiction. Setting is a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The reader is presented with a group of characters all struggling with troubled lives. Following the strictures of the Intuitionist text this serves the purpose of making all characters a suspect in the inevitable murder investigation. The reader is introduced to three main stereotypes throughout Skull beneath the Skin; the detective, the victim and the murderer/ villain. The detective in the Shull beneath the Skin Cordelia Gray is typical of the intuitionist text. Cordelia is not perfect but she seems to be morally better than all those around her in particular the occupants of Courcey Island. This particular trait makes her the Goodie in the reader s eyes. She is clever and apt at seeing through the deceptions around her. However she hides this behind a somewhat dithering exterior to make her job at Courcey Island less conspicuous. Also introduced in the novel is the character of Clarissa Lisle the victim. True to the Intuitionist style Clarissa is immoral and a completely despicable character who the reader cannot like at all. This puts more intrigue into the murder investigation because with such a nasty victim many people could have reason to want her dead. In this case almost everyone on Courcey Island has felt the bitter edge of Clarissa Lisle. The last major character stereotype that the novel S.B.T.S includes is the murderer/criminal. Generally as the name suggests the criminal is the person who ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This helps her remember that dogs are bad, in her mind she feels this, she has been through and experience in which it has stamped itself into her brain. Now the CS (Conditioned Stimulus) is the dog itself, or dogs in general. The sight of a dog or even a bark or growl can set little Sally off in a crying or cowering manner. Many high paying jobs are out there waiting for someone with the degree they desire to come forth. Not only will college make you a better person, but will also take you on an unforgettable journey. Some people may not understand the logic between right, and wrong and what is better than to learn about philosophical ideas, if the new republic was to flourish and endure, it required, above all, an education (Singletary 10). Subsidizing STEM classes is a bad idea because lack interest will occur, many jobs will be at stake, and Arts would be too expensive. In the Education: Does College Still Matter short passage, Tabarrok thought it would be best that the people who choose STEM degrees, should have subsidized taxes. There is little justification for subsidizing sociology, dance, and English majors (Tabarrok 5). This would not be beneficial because it discourages the people who wanted to chase their dream career. For example, an intelligent female may want to be an English teacher, but knowing that her journey to get that education will cost drastically more, than she will choose a different career, leaning more into a STEM career. • 22. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Virtue Ethics Virtue Ethics is neither deontological nor teleological, since it is concerned with neither duty nor consequences, but rather the state of the person acting. Aristotle believed that once you are good, good actions will necessarily follow, and this belief is at the centre of Virtue Ethics. Rather than defining good actions, Virtue Ethics looks at good people and the qualities that make them good. The non normative theory, although very effective in determining the morality of individuals, is particularly flawed when applied to whole societies. This weakness is largely due to its imprecision and abstraction; however, before these weaknesses can be considered, it is necessary to give an account of the theory itself. Virtue Ethics is centred on the belief that everything has a purpose and that, when something fulfils its purpose, it is good. For example, the purpose of a knife is to cut, and so a knife that cuts well has achieved its purpose. This links in to Aristotle s ideas about the Four Causes and the Final Cause. Plato and Aristotle agreed that the purpose of humanity was the fulfilment of flourishing, and this is known as eudaimonia. When a person has achieved eudaimonia they will be fully content with their lives and they will act morally because they want to. He referred to eudaimonia as an end in itself . Aristotle insists that this telos can only be achieved through the use of reason, since the ergon (function) of reason in practice is virtue. He says: The good ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Listing on a foreign exchange brings the added risks of uncertainty of the US dollar, trade embargoes, trade tariffs, foreign service fees, an entirely different IRS reporting structure, and many other hurdles. If a company is big enough to have a financial management section headed by a CFO, then it should not be very difficult to list on a foreign exchange with enough program management.
