Editing Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of "Editing Essay" can be quite challenging, as it involves a certain
level of self-awareness and critical analysis. The difficulty arises from the need to objectively
evaluate one's own writing, which can be a daunting task. It requires a keen eye for detail and
the ability to identify weaknesses, inconsistencies, and areas that could be strengthened.
One of the main challenges is overcoming the inherent bias that comes with being the author of
the essay. It's not easy to distance oneself from the content and view it objectively, as familiarity
with the text may cloud judgment. Additionally, recognizing the need for improvement and
being open to constructive criticism is essential, but it can be emotionally challenging.
Another difficulty lies in the technical aspects of editing, such as grammar, punctuation, and
formatting. While some writers may excel in expressing their ideas, they may struggle with the
finer details of language mechanics. This requires a comprehensive understanding of the rules of
grammar and the ability to apply them consistently.
Furthermore, the process of self-editing can be time-consuming. It involves multiple rounds of
revisions to ensure clarity, coherence, and overall effectiveness. This can be mentally taxing as it
demands sustained focus and attention to detail.
In conclusion, tackling an essay on the topic of "Editing Essay" involves navigating the
complexities of self-assessment, overcoming biases, honing technical skills, and dedicating
significant time and effort. It's a task that requires both a critical mindset and a commitment to
the iterative process of improvement.

The Liberator By Alberto Arvelo
In 2013 the biopic of SimГіn BolГvar called The Liberator , directed by Alberto
Arvelo was created to demonstrate the liberation of Latin America during the 1800s
as well as the various obstacles SimГіn BolГvar had overcome in order to free his
country. The Liberator was an impactful film that truly demonstrated the hardships
and inferiority of indigenous life due to Spain s reign of dominance which drastically
damaged the overall tone and development of many Latin Americans. Throughout the
duration of the film, various themes such as inequality, nationalism, and liberalism
were present during BolГvar s war against the Spanish Empire; BolГvar s ideals on
the true destiny of man had both divided the country between patriots and royalists as
well as sparking a revolution against the Spanish due to his disobedience. SimГіn
BolГvar was a Venezuelan militaries and political leader known as The Liberator for
his role in challenging the powerful Spanish Empire in order to establish
independence and equality within Latin America. However, despite fighting for a
noble cause and providing unity amongst the indigenous people of Latin America,
BolГvar s leadership was often questioned due to his determination to win liberty.
The film The Liberator was a biopic that followed the life of SimГіn BolГvar during
Latin American Independence in which he led his military consisting of natives
against the Spanish in order to achieve liberty. I feel that Alberto Arvelo of Caracas,
Hamburger Essay
Big Tasty Hamburger At times when we are in a hurry, hamburgers are one of the
easiest foods to eat while on the go. No matter what time it is whether its breakfast,
lunch, or dinner we grab a hamburger and might throw in some fries and a soda to go
with it. Many restaurants are known to make their hamburgers in a specific way.
Preparation differs from restaurant to restaurant. But what really makes a hamburger
taste so delicious? Depending where you go they will taste different but they are all
structured the same. It consists of a bun, a ground meat pattyand often ingredients
such as cheese, onion slices, lettuce and other condiments.
I occasionally like to buy juicy burgers that look and taste great. When your food is

Third but not least, the conclusion provides an almost mirror image of the
introduction, wrapping up the arguments with a restatement of the thesis of your
essay. I call this the bottom burger bun or in other words the conclusion. Holding it
all together is the bottom bun of the hamburger or the conclusion to sum up all the
key points of interest. The conclusion sentence should be interesting by giving it a
call to action. As you can see a hamburger is easy to make like writing is not as
hard as you think. Writing is very simple to do as preparing a hamburger.
Although, most of the time hamburgers are dry and taste like cardboard. They are
the ones that tend to not be juicy or appealing to the eye. Believe it or not, essays
are similar to dry burgers. Writing essays can lack clear thoughts, explanations, and
opinions as well as vague arguments. As a result an essay that is boring and not
interesting end up receiving a poor grade. However, a hamburger can be re made to
taste better like an essay can be revised or edited.
In writing, as in other kinds of production, the process directly affects the quality of
the product. If we prepare a meal quickly, assembling poor ingredients without much
thought or attention, we aren t likely to end up with a tasty dish. The best chefs, like
the best writers, refine their methods and think carefully about what they are doing,

Book Review: Crawford, S. (2014). The Telecom Industry and Monopoly in Power in
the New Gilded Age. London, Brilliance Audio.
In the book, Captive Audience: The Telekom Industry and Monopoly Power in the
New Gilded Age, the Author, Susan Crawford is discussing how a decade ago,
United States was the benchmark for internet service provision. The U.S. boasted of
the fastest internet speed, highest penetration rates, and the lowest prices in the
market. The United States was then recognized as a leading knowledge economy.
However, today, things have suddenly changed, a situation attributed towards
lackluster government legislations that have given rise to new monopolies hence
allowing countries such as Singapore, Japan, and Europe to overtake the U.S in
terms of average broadband speed, penetration rates, and prices. This backslide has
not only deprived consumers premium services and contents in a competitive global
landscape, but also threatening to derail the country s economic prospects.
According to Susan, who is the author of the book, she believes that once upon a
time, she was found in a fortunate position to decide on a television and internet
package. Susan had a choice of two companies to choose from, and these very
companies provided broadband connectivity, telephony services, and myriad of
television channels than she could hardly afford to enjoy. Unfortunately, this
particular choice of providers is only available to the
The Chemical And Gas Sensors
Introduction:
There has been a rapid growth in the field of biosensing through both ultrasensitive
chemical and gas sensors. The bio sensing protocols that are able to detect specific
biological and chemical species, sensitively and specifically (selectively) can
noticeably influence our daily lives. The issues related to monitoring of industrial
emissions, medical diagnosis and public security are significant application fields of
gas sensing in particular. Nano engineered materials including Carbon Nanotubes and
Graphene are being used to develop miniaturized sensors that can detect very low
concentrations of gases which are biomarkers of certain diseases like lung cancer in
particular. The composition of exhaled breath contains valuable information about
certain volatile and semi volatile compounds which can be used to generate a
chemical fingerprint and thereby screen patients with lung cancer. Graphene and
Carbon Nanotubes have been discussed for the development of chemical sensing
platform.
A.Graphene for biosensing:
Graphene is a 2 D form of carbon with planar structure and sp2 bonding. It is a
single layer of graphite with inter planar spacings of 3.35 A0. It has attracted
tremendous interest due to its exceptional and unique properties. Some of its
properties that are relevant to its widespread use in gas sensors have been discussed
below.

substrate) provide increased

I would describe myself as someone with a deep understanding of self, someone

must be a meaning in suffering. From my experiences of personal and family
tragedies, I know that suffering is part of life and is unavoidable, it is as certain as
death and completes our journey here on earth; however, we should not let this
suffering go to waste but let it contribute to a deeper meaning to our lives. Through

Life Worth In Hamlet
What is your life worth to you? How do you assess value in your life? These might
be questions you ve thought about before, or they may not be. Do you view your
worth as a dollar estimate or do you look at your value on emotional terms? In
Shakespeare s Hamlet, we see a very contemptuous outlook on life, from an emotional
standpoint. Rather than overcoming his troubles, he wallows in his own heartache.
Compared to the actions of Roger Ebertand Steve Jobs, Hamlet is a foil. In times of
tragedy it is important to realize what truly matters to you, and not what seems to be
important for the moment. We come to understand this critical concept through Ebert
and Jobs. Not only that, but we also come to realize the idea of assigning value to
someone s life from a financial standpoint is unjust, because our true value lies within
the relationships we develop and the legacy we leave behind.
In our first reading, we can conclude that Hamlet s perspective on life s worth is
dismissive; he in fact despises his life so much, he wishes he could end it. Hamlet,
the main character of Shakespeare s play titled Hamlet, declares that life is nothing
more than a sea of troubles (Ln. 4) Although I admire William Shakespeares timeless
work, I think his central claim, to be or not to be (Ln.1) is pessimistic and cowardly.
I personally disagree with Hamlet even though his outlook on life is evaluated on an
emotional level rather than financial. But how can anyone be happy when their

The Muhammad Is The Messenger Of God
All faithful Muslims are called to pray in Cairo. The song on the video is the call
that sounds five times a day every day in cities across the world. Nearly a quarter of
the people on earth respond to it with the enduring spirit of Islam. The video states
that in the Islam religion, Mohammed is the Messenger of God. The Islamic
civilization has been one of the humanity s grandest achievements, a worldwide
power founded simply on faith, a spiritual revolution that would shape the nations of
three continents, and launch an Empire. For the West, much of the history of Islam
has been obscured behind a veil of fear and misunderstanding. It was Muslim
scholars who retained the wisdom of the Greeks while Europe languished in the
dark ages. It was Muslims who sowed the seeds of the Renaissance 600 years
before the birth of Leonardo Da Vinci. From the way they heal the sick to the
numerals they use for counting, cultures across the globe have been shaped by the
Islamic civilization. However, all this began with an ordinary man and the profound
message he proclaimed would change the world forever. His name was Mohammed.
To Muslims, the life of Muhammad is a story revealed. Muhammad was born in or
around 570 AD in the sun blasted Arabian Peninsula, a land of scarcity whose tribes
were always in a state of war. While still an infant, Muhammad s parents gave him
his first tasteful of life in the dessert. Muhammad was from a town named Mecca, but
he was sent off to live with the better

A Brief Note On Balancing A College Life
Balancing a College Life
Just when I thought I was done with one of the most stressful parts of my life,
college happened and it got even more intense. School is stressful, but throw in an
afterschool job and a social life, and studying is just hard to manage. Freshman
year of college might be one of the most stressful years for students. The fact that
they are living on their own for the first time is terrifying for most freshman.
Parents are not there to do everything for them. It is a lot to handle when they are
only eighteen. It takes a while to find a balance, but eventually they will find a
solution. Everyone is different so there is a solution for everybody. It just depends on
what kind of schedule he or she has. Students should ... Show more content on

After reading part of what the president of Colorado State University Campus said it
helps to provide the first solution.
The first solution is time management. Time management is something not everyone
can perfect. There are adults today who still cannot manage their busy schedule. The
best way to do this is to figure out what the students plan is for that particular day or
week and figure when or where they need to be in order for them to make sure
everything they need to do is done. This all starts with what time they have to get
ready to begin their day. What time are they going to wake up? Do they need to
make room for homework and studying? Do they have to go to work today? What
else needs to be done? These questions should be asked in order to plan more
efficiently. If they have an hour in between that could be used for eating, studying,
or napping. If students are busy and have free time they should take advantage of it
and try to get their homework done or study for an upcoming test or quiz.
The second solution is learning how to multi task. This is where students learn to
be experts at doing multiple things at once. There is a right way to multi task and a
wrong way. The obvious wrong way would be driving while trying to finish
breakfast, and study for a test that is scheduled for your first class. In order to
properly multi task students need to switch their focus constantly. The first thing
students should do is make a to do list. The

It s Time to Redesign the Parking Lot Essay
When the bell rings for students to go home the quiet and serene field of asphalt in
front of school becomes a sinkhole and everyone is fighting to get out. Most school
parking lots are accessible, safe, and orderly; the Hinckley Big Rock High School
parking lot is an accident waiting to happen. With so many problems, a slight redesign
of the schools main parking lot would seem practical.
Anytime the idea of making any corrections or additions to the parking lot comes up
in a discussion, the notion is put down due to the time the parking lot would be

When the first hour bell rings on the first day of school the parking lot has few cars
and they are packed into certain areas. Why should spots be handed out
numerically? A first come first serve basis for assigning parking spots to students
only causes crowding and large empty spaces. With only enough cars to fill up half
a parking lot, it would make sense to spread them out evenly. Numbers for these
spots should be first handed out evens first, so at least for awhile there will be an
ease of entering and exiting individual parking spots with out having to watch out
for every other vehicle around. Then later in the year as needed the odd numbered
spots can be issued, filling up all empty spaces.
When vehicles are on both sides of a spot it can be difficult to pull straight into a
parking spot without having to back out and try again because of the tight aisle. If
all the spots are tight together and the students have to back in there will be a large
back up and there will be total tyranny.
Hinckley Big Rock High School has many students that come from farming families
and for the most part drive trucks. These trucks can be inches or even feet longer
than the spot that is provided to them. These students need larger spots because the
part of their vehicle that is sticking out into the aisle is

change in a country was people choose a different type of government. Usually,
people were not satisfied with their original leader or regime. Therefore, new
leaders were selected. Unfortunately, these new changes can be both negative and
positive. With them come many leaders with different political theories and policies.

Alchemy as the Precursor to Modern Medicine Practices
Chemical medicine originates from medical alchemy of the medieval period. Its
nature was controversial and the acceptance and practice of chemical medicine
caused problems with those who had strong ties with Scholasticism that rooted them
in the Galenic tradition and made them wary of new practices and innovations. The
fact that chemical medicinebecame quite popular thanks to the sixteenth century
Swiss doctor Paracelsus only increased the controversial nature. Paracelsus was well
known for his miraculous cures as well as for rejecting the European medical
organization (De Vos, 2007).
Paula De Vos (2007) wrote an article about the introduction of chemical medicine into
Mexican medical practices during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. She
shares a case of a DoГ±a Michaela de Sierra, whose legs had been paralysed for over
25 years but had been cured with a series of medications that were a combination of
traditional Galenic treatments and chemical medicines. This shift of treatments, from
the purely Galenic preparations to the inclusion of chemical medicines, is validated
by the appearance of contemporary pharmaceutical texts in the late seventeenth and
early eighteenth centuries. The change occurred at the same time to a similar
alteration in Spain. The inauguration of Charles II to the throne started an era of
acceptance to changes in medical practices. This medical development happened later
in Spain and Mexico compared to other European countries
Interracial Marriage In The 1950s
In 1958, an interracial couple living in Virginia was arrested after getting married.
This started the Supreme Court Case Loving v. Virginia, which took place in 1967.
At that time, interracial marriage was illegal in some states, one of those states being
Virginia. In the 1950s, there was a lot of conflict going on. For an example, the civil
rights movement was growing, and the campaign against communism revealed the
hidden divisions in American society. A group of Americans that is continually
growing spoke out against inequality and injustice during the 1950s. African
Americans had been fighting against racial discrimination for centuries; during the
1950s, however, the struggle against racism and segregation entered the mainstream
of American life. (History, The 1950s) Although they weren t very common, they
were definitely frowned upon by society. The Loving v. Virginia
Supreme Court Case
changed people s views on interracial marriage, helped it become legal in every state,
and shaped the American culture of today.
On June 2, 1958, Mildred Jeter, and Richard Loving got married in the District of
Columbia and then returned to Virginia shortly after. However, they were in
violation of Virginia code 20 54, which declared marriages between white and
colored persons unlawful, as well as code 20 58, which made it unlawful to go out of
state to marry with the intention to return and cohabit as husband and wife
(Coleman, Loving v Virginia). Shortly after their marriage,

everyone, even if you don t really like them. Goths don t always get along with

as evil people, so the try to prove people wrong. Not every Goth agrees with that
statement. A more that the Goths follow is to be accepting. There are no
requirements that are needed to become a Goth, because all Goths are different.
For example, some Goths are religious, while other Goths choose to be atheists.
The Gothic culture was formed so that people who had a darker view on life has a

Karen Horney Was One Of The First Noted Female
Psychoanalyst
Karen Horney was one of the first noted female psychoanalyst theorist who, along
with Alfred Adler, formed the Neo Freudian discipline. She did not agree that
individuals are ruled by their repressed sexual passions and with many of Freud s
other theories. Her theory on personality put more emphasis on the individual s
childhood experiences and the social and cultural aspects that affect them. In order
to explain a person s personality, Horney developed the theory of neurosis. In it she
listed the ten basic neurotic needs, how people coped with life, and she looked at
self realization versus self idealization . We can use Horney s theory to examine the
personality of the recently elected president, Donald Trump. The 2016 election...

But it is reported that during those years Donald still got into fights with other
students and was angry or aggressive at times. Donald worked for his father s
construction company during the summers and went on to Fordham University and
then transferred to the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated with a
degree in economics in 1968. After he graduated he joined the family business and
moved to Manhattan where he tried to grow it beyond what his father had done.
Using Horney s theory we can examine the early years of Trump s life. Of the ten
basic neurotic needs Trump strongly shows the need for power, the need for social
recognition, and the need for personal achievement (Horney, 1942). As Horney s
theory emphasizes childhood experiences, we can see how a child who grew up in
a big family that was affluent would want power and social recognition. He grew
up needing to compete with his siblings for his parents attention and by watching
his father he believed that success in his career was the best way to achieve
personal success. Lots of Trump s actions pointed to him trying to fill his need for
social recognition: he was a star athlete, a student leader, and he was known for
being cocky. In Horney s book, Neurosis and Human Growth, she says feeling at
bottom isolated and hostile he can only develop an urge to need to lift

Reflection On Colors
I have been really focusing on colors for past 4 years, almost one fourth of my
entire life. I believe that each of different colors can change someone s life. It
sounds unreal, almost. Well, there is someone who got affected by colors. It s me.
In fact, I was not always interested in colors until Eighth Grade. I used to be a person
who did not focus on colors in everyday life, just like most people do, but now I care
colors so much because of situations I have experienced.
Thankfully, everything in the world has a color, and it used for many different
purposes. Human eyes can see many different colors because they are very sensitive.
For me, the color is something that impacts and changes my state and thoughts. I
love looking at colors because it supports the words I am saying and gives me many
different moods. I remember the times that I realized how much colors impact on me.
When I was in eighth grade in South Korea, I got a chance to visit DMZ, or 38th
parallel. DMZ stands for the Demilitarized Zone, where it divides Korea into a half.
While I was in DMZ, I felt like I was in 1970s. South Koreans lived in DMZ, but it
was a lonesome place. When I came back to school, my teacher wanted me to
explain the difference between North Korea, DMZ, and South Korea, and I could
not find ways to explain. Suddenly, I thought of colors, only because they were
simple. Then, I immediately started to color the south side of Korea as Blue, North
as Red , and DMZ as Light Purple. I said that Red indicates the communism and
blood. Blue as a peace, and Purple as a confusion. Everyone can guess Red as
something about violence, and Blue is something about peace. However, people
don t know what Purple describes because it can be anything. Purple is certainly the
mixture of Red and Blue, but people don t go deeper. I said light Purple because
DMZ was a very clean place. The word confusion came to my mind, because I was
confused if I saw DMZ as more of South side or North side, and I used it to explain
the meaning of colors to my teacher. It was a total success! That s how I started to
use them to support my opinion. (I use color to to give a detail often)

Exploratory Qualitative Research Paper
ASSIGNMENT #2 Through exploratory qualitative research and measurable
quantitative research, I will be discussing a final research document which will
consider implications of how thought processes work as well as progression groups,
and unique techniques through counseling will be applied to substance abuse, as
well as addressing how the thought process works and how emotions play a large
impact on personal recovery. In the Qualitative researcharticle titled A Cognitive
Behavioral Approach to Client Anxiety, Anger, Depression, and Guilt Kevin C.
Murphy (1980) discusses how counselors are often trying to find ways to address
ways to reach a client to help them through the thought process, through using
different therapeutic techniques... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another strategy goes into helping the client create a mental shield around them that
can t be broken down (Schimmel Jacobs, 2011). Other concepts that a counselor may
address is cultural aspects. (Jacobs, 2011) In a Qualitative article titled Managing
racial anger: A Critical Skill in Cultural Competence Alexis D. Abernethy (1995)
addresses how some ethnic populations may come to a therapy session having anger
as being the main complication. The issue might revolve around job discrimination,
job dissatisfaction etc. However, the counselor may show empathy before
understanding the client s situation or perspective, which may create a dilemma
(Abernethy, 1995, p. 97). Cultural aspects are not the only concept for those who
struggle with anger, Gender experience may also play a role. In a quantitative article
titled Sex Difference in the Relationship of Anger and Depression: an Empirical
Study Jody L. Newman, Elizabeth A. Gray, and Dale R. Fuqua (1999) go into detail
about a study that had been conducted on two different inventories. The two
inventories calculated the mean score between sexes and found that women scored
much higher on depression, however there was no difference between the six anger
scales that were considered between the sexes (Newman, Gray, Fuqua, 1999). Also in
consideration between the sexes a quantitative article titled Issues of anger in the
workplace; do gender and gender role matter? By Irene Gianakos (2002) goes into
detail about a

Commonness In Musculoskeletal Disorders
Purpose of Research and Subjects Musculoskeletal disorders are very common
throughout the population. The research into the commonness in musculoskeletal
disorders in the shoulder isn t correct due to the lack of uniformity and gold standard
measurement. This study focuses on the commonness of musculoskeletal disorders of
the shoulderin women. They assess the differences in the commonness of injuries
using three different measuring tools.
The subjects for this study were working aged women, 20 to 55 years of age.
These women were not exposed to heavy or repetitive work. They could not be a
part of the study if they had been diagnosed with major pathologies or trauma to the
shoulder previously. The subjects were volunteers. The volunteers were found at
supermarkets located in the same area. 302 women were enrolled in this cross
sectional study.

The second assessment was performed by a blinded orthopaedic specialist and third
an ultrasound and MRI of the shoulder. In the first stage the subjects took a Nordic
style questionnaire that focused on pain in the upper limb. The second stage was
performed by an experienced orthopaedic specialist. The specialist assessed both
shoulders by determining the range of motion and pull force at a 90 degrees of
abduction in the scapular plane. A constant score was calculated for both shoulders. If
the constant score was below normal female values, their shoulder was considered
abnormal. Third a blinded musculoskeletal radiologist performed an ultrasonography
of both shoulders in all subjects. If they had an inconclusive finding they completed
the assessment with an MRI. The subjects were not allowed to report any pain they

The Exponential Model Coordinates Population Growth
Essay
Discussion
Commonly speaking, the theoretical and practical outcome of corresponding
experiments done before should be similar with the results of this time.
The exponential model approximates population growth in its early stage. Table 3.4.1
shows the numbers generated by an organism that doubles at each cycle.
Table 3.4.1:
Number of Generations: 0 1 2 ... 10 ... 25 ... 40 ... 72
Number of Organisms: 1 2 4 ... 1024 3.4 x 10^7 1.1 x 10^12 4.7 x10^21. (Yeagers et
al. 1996).
Similarly, the first two growth graphs drawn above are also in acceleration phase in
the beginning, except the fact that there is a sudden decrease of P. caudatum on the
12th day. However, as on the following two days the number does not continue to go
down, there must be some errors when sampling and counting. Despite that the person
who conducted the experiment might operate inaccurately during some steps, one of
the most common error could happen when counting. Moving swiftly here and there,
not all paramecium would slow down obviously, which easily triggers counting
mistake.
But as the density of the population increases, certain resources such as food and
space become scarce, predation and disease increase, and waste begins to accumulate.
These negative conditions generate a feedback effect: Increasing population density
produces conditions that slow down population growth. An equilibrium situation
results, in which the population
All Men Are Created Equal Joseph Brant Analysis
The meaning of the phrase all men are created equal has evolved dramatically
since the time it was written, and continues to evolve. Today, it means we are all
equal, regardless of race, gender, or preference. At the time of composure of the
Declaration of Independence, it only referred to the white men that owned land.
Women, slaves, and Native Americans were not included in all men . In the
encounter written by Joseph Brant, the war chief tells of how he went to the King of
England and made their requests known. He told them of how they had been treated
poorly by the Canadians and requested that they be chastised. The war chief also
voiced his concern that they had given so much land for so little value, they should

What Happens During A House Repossession Essay
What Happens During a House Repossession
Repossession is always a last case scenario, with most other options generally
considered before any court will give a lender the right to repossess your home.
However, it does happen, and if you feel it might happen to you then you re
probably going to want a little guidance regarding what happens, when it happens,
why it happens and how you can make the process as painless as humanely possible.
What is Repossession?
Repossession is a legal process in which a lender (the bank more often than not)
takes back ownership of a property because a mortgage, or other loan taken against
the property, hasn t been paid. Repossession generally occurs as a result of mortgage
arrears, (owed money) which build up if you don t or can t pay off your mortgage at
times when your payment is due. Before repossession proceedings begin, it will be
up to your mortgage lender to explore all other avenues available to help you repay
your loan. If they cannot come to an agreement with you, they are free to begin
repossession proceedings. Once the lender has repossessed your home it will almost
certainly be sold on in order to recoup their lost costs.
The Stages of House Repossession
Here, we ll break down the stages of house repossession step by step in order to give
some some idea of what to expect so you re not caught off guard and are prepared
for every eventuality. Remember that until step 6 there are still options available to

How Did Fidel Castro Rise To Power
Fidel Castro
Fidel Castro was born into a family of 6 children, him being the 3rd oldest. He was
born near BirГЎn, Cuba on August 13, 1926. Fidel s father, Angel Castro, originally
from Spain, moved to Cuba and became a successful sugar plantation owner. Fidel
went to many boarding schools, where he excelled in sports and academics. He

was born in a wealthy family. Together they had one child, Fidelito. Through this
marriage he became more wealthy than he had been and had more political contact.
Fidel ran in the elections of 1952, but they were cancelled due to Cuba being

factories and plantations in an effort to end the dominance that the U.S. had

the Americans it seemed as if he was using the same tactics as the Soviet Union.
The U.S. refused to import sugar to Cuba, because Cuba wasn t processing oil.
Castro teamed up with the Soviet Union, and in October of 1962 they planned to

American planes discovered the missiles before they were installed. In exchange for

discussion protocols a lot easier for teachers because I feel that the teacher doesn t
have to spend so much time redirecting the discussion and can focus on the students
answers and how they got their answers.
While reading the book 5 Practices I realized that I was not alone in the idea of

your engine is running hard. Now inspect your engine, perform a visual diagnosis
of all the hardware, pulleys and also check for cracks on any part of your engine it

Treating Genetic Disorders with Gene Therapy Essay

Successes of gene therapy include the treatment of hereditary blindness, immune
deficiencies, hemophilia, blood disease, cancer, parkinson s disease and more. In
most tumor related developments are caused by the inactivity of the p53 cell.
What the p53 gene does is balks the overgrowth of cells and keeps tumors from
being made. Many people that have been diagnosed with cancer or have a tumor
can often be found to have the p53 gene malfunctioning. With gene therapy, there is
a probability that a new gene would be delivered to the malfunctioning p53 and
correcting the mistake. Human gene therapy has the potential to save millions of
lives. In the United States, human gene therapy is not yet accepted as a full
functioning treatment because there are still risk factors to consider, it is only
available as apart of a clinical trial. With gene therapy comes the issue with

Monsters Are The Stars Of Entertainment For The Horror...
Monsters have been the stars of entertainment for the horror industry. The word
monster usually connotes something wrong or evil; a freak of nature. Traditionally,
monster narratives to depict the monster a hideous creature that may produce fear or
panic. However; can this still apply to present day? Monsters have completely
revolutionized. For example, Vampires have traditionally been categorized as evil,
seductive and alluring creatures of the night. They moved through the night, hiding
in shadows, and sleeping in coffins throughout the day. Yet, the modern vampire
is far
from this. Just like Vampires, Zombies have also have steadily gone through a
complete shift of social compliance. In early monster narratives, zombies were
traditionally reanimated corpse who were under the control of a Voodoo master. In
the past decade there has been a zombie boom; with zombies being able to adapt to
the social preference. Although vampires and zombies have changed in cinema and
literature since their very creation, the most dramatic changes have occurred through
the late twentieth century to modern day, mainly due to social tolerance and social
anxiety.
In the late nineteenth century vampires started to evolve into to what is the modern
day vampire. Although they were still seen as evil , the vampires of the late
twentieth century were no longer creepy creatures that would crawl out of their
coffins to seduce women and feed from their blood. This was the start of a new

The United States Current Laws For Gun Control
Gun control is the set of laws or policies that regulate the sale, manufacture, transfer,
possession, modification, and/or use of firearms by civilians. Are the United States
current laws for gun control effective? Is the U.S. in need of reform or enactment of
new laws? Alarming statistics indicate that the status quo is ineffective. Gun control
laws in the US should be stricter and uniform since there are an unusually high
quantity of gun related incidents in the U.S.. Additionally, countries that have more
rigorous gun control are shown to have drastically lower gun related death rates.
Through stricter gun control, we may protect the country and its future generations
from people who should not be able to obtain firearms. Statistics... Show more content

If one wanted to purchase a handgun in Connecticut they would have to wait a long
time; first there would be an eight hour safety course, then they would have to pick
up an application, which includes a background check and fingerprinting, at the
police department (Rosen 1). Review of this application may take up to eight
weeks (Rosen 1). Once one was cleared, the state would give them a temporary
permit, which would be traded in at state police headquarters for a permanent one.
Only then could the person go back to the gun shop to buy a gun (Rosen 1).
However, if one were to go to Missouri, buying a handgun would be a lot quicker.
Some buyers can walk into a store and instantly purchase a gun if they pass the FBI
s instant background check (Rosen 1). The gun laws are so different in each state,
a discrepancy can be seen in the safety of each state too. Connecticut has stricter
gun laws so they have fewer gun caused deaths, while Missouri has more gun
mishaps since they have looser gun control laws. For example, there are fifteen
percent fewer gun suicides in Connecticut compared to sixteen percent more in
Missouri (Rosen 1). However, limits placed on government authorities also
determine the safety from guns in America. In the article, Misfires of the Gun

Mayall s Object (Arp 148)
Mayall s object (also known as Arp 148) is the stunning result of an encounter
between two galaxies resulting in a ring shaped galaxy and a long tailed companion,
located almost 465 million light years away within the constellation Ursa Major. The
pair extends across 80 thousand light years.
The collision between the two parent galaxies produced a shockwave effect that first
drew matter into the center and then caused it to propagate outwards in a ring. The
elongated companion perpendicular to the ring suggests that Arp 148 offers a unique
view of a collision in progress.

The Old And New Testament
The Bible is made up of two main books, the Old and New Testament, which both
consist of stories and the experiences of the apostles and the disciples. The Bible
talks about every topic imaginable to man; but the topic of woman is still today, a
very controversial one. Depending on whom you talk to, opinions will vary
dramatically. Are women seen as equal to man? Are women independent or
dependent , and Are women only seen for their beauty and duties in the household? .
Throughout the Bible, women are spoken about quite a bit. In Genesis, man and
womanare created, in Proverbs, the perfect wife is described, and in Corinthians,
marriage roles are talked about. The Bible can be interpreted in many ways

Adam and Eve, probably, both were gardeners/farmers of the Garden of Eden.
They didn t have children yet and there was no other human being or other job on
the earth. One did not do a more masculine or feminine job than the other, they
were equal. Another item of note; before Adam and Eve ate the fruit of
knowledge, they both had no idea that they were naked. They did not know there
was a right and wrong, they couldn t get embarrassed, or jealous, or angry. They
were innocent. Adam wasn t the only one innocent or naked, Eve was as well. God
didn t give more knowledge to Adam than Eve, they were given equal amount of
knowledge and responsibility. That was the only time that human beings were
perfectly equal. The only reason for that, of course, was because it was before they
ate from the tree of knowledge. After that, mankind was born into the knowledge of
embarrassment, anger, jealousy, pride, and inequality. The definition of equality is,
the state of being equal, especially in status, rights, and opportunities. When looking
at the book of Genesis, Adam and Eve were equal in status, rights, and
opportunities. Soon after Eve was created, Eve ate from the Tree of Knowledge and
convinced Adam to as well. This was the fall into sin. When God found out about
this he punished them both. To Eve, he said Your desire shall be for your husband.

Biomedical Appliances And The Destruction They Bring
Biomedical Appliances and the Destruction They Bring In the ever growing industry
of biomedical sciences, many devices have the potential to cause harm to the
environment. They have to be treated with such caution and have drastic disposal
measures in place to make sure no damage is done to the environment. Yes, these
steps are incredibly important with devices such as these, but why use a product with
such devastating potential? With today s modern technology and brilliant scientists
should put more effort into creating more environmentally friendly biomedical
technology whilst still having the same benefits. The world today is ever changing
and technology is progressively advancing each and every day. Laura Cabrera wrote
an article in which she discusses the effect humans have on the environmentand how
the environment affects them. The goal of the article is to discover how biomedical
science can be further developed by understanding the environmental impact of
humans. Technological advancements have yielded positive economic growth,
improved standards of living, and provided new ways of protecting humanhealth. At
the same time, technology has contributed to widespread negative changes in the
environment that include global climate change, deforestation, suburban sprawl,
ecosystem loss, and increased health risks from exposure to radiation, toxicants, and
stress (Cabrera 1). Whereas this technology can be lifesaving and a great benefit to a
modern health, it can
The Flaws In The Movie Kingdom Of Heaven
The movie Kingdom of Heaven is a very good movie. It is biased off of the
crusades more specifically the second crusade. However, no matter how good any
movie is there is always flaws, this one is no different. The amount of flaws I am
able to choose from is tremendous. I have categorized them into three main topics.
First I will be talking about the false things that have to do with Balian himself.
Next will be the weapons them self s and how they fire/are used and outcomes of
them. Last I will state many of the other false tings in the movie and back up why
they are false. In the movie there are many incorrect elements about Balian and
surrounding Balian. One of the larger issues I can see is that he is not from
France. As Helena P. Schrader says Balian was born in the crusader Kingdom of
Jerusalem. The movie started out with a scene of Balian burying his dead wife.

First up is the longbow, a great invention but sadly it was not yet of this time.
Believe it or not the long bow wasn t on the Europe main land until many years
after it was invented. According to Max Perham the longbow was invented by the
Celts in Wales around 1180, but was not really used by the English military until the
1300 s. Also according to Virginia Ream the army s attacking would not just
bombard the castle walls. There were people that would dig under the castle s walls
to weaken them then they would fire at that area to bring them down. I found more
information on this mining strategy on medieval castles.net. The large battle scenes
were almost funny on how the catapults and trebuchets they had fired. It looked more
like a cannon firing the projectiles. Nevertheless, these machines fire more like a

patients under 60 is 140 mmHg and DBP 90 mmHg. Different goal values are
presented for patients with chronic conditions. Treatment with medication is
categorized by: general population nonblack, general population black, chronic
conditions black, and chronic condition all races. Based on the algorithm black
patients should only be prescribed thiazide type diuretics and/or calcium channel
blockers. While non black patients can take all of the medications listed in JNC 8
(thiazide type diuretics, ACEI, ARB, and/or CCB). If patient does not reach goal
blood pressure then three strategies are listed, along with lifestyle adherence. The
algorithm also explains not to use ACEI and ARB together. The final option for
patients not at goal blood pressure includes additional medications and/or referral to
physician with an expertise in hypertension
Before The Flood
Before the Flood Film Analysis Fisher Stevens exposes the catastrophic effects of
climate change and the imperative need to take action to halt its rapid progression
through the 2016 documentary Before the Flood. In the film, the narrator, Leonardo
DiCaprio, travels around the world to unveil the devastating global impact of rising
temperatures, interviewing experts, advocates, and notable figures along the way.
DiCaprio demonstrates the significance of climate change on a global scale through
the varying perspectives and individual impact in both developed and developing
countries. Included in these views are the culprits of the problem, such as leading oil
corporations, that deny the existence of climate change to protect the integrity... Show

During this interview, Obama expresses great concern with the global issue and
argues that the science behind it is indisputable. Obama explains that even if the
sentimental loss created by the destruction of our earth isn t enough for people to
acknowledge importance of this issue, they must express concern with the national
security implications and the survival of our current world order threatened by
climate change. Throughout the interview, Obama emphasizes our need to take
action now. Because the president of the United States is a highly respected and
influential figure, this scene establishes substantial credibility or ethos in the film.
Not only is Barrack Obama highly regarded because of his presidential position, but
he has recently expressed concern in the issue of climate change with his involvement
in the Paris Agreement, a plan designed to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions and
deter global warming. The audience is likely to trust the opinion of someone who
proves he is well informed and involved in the issue. Barrack Obama s appearance
and support in the film serves Stevens purpose because it encourages the audience to
more willingly trust the information in the documentary and acknowledge the
significance of climate change. It is extremely difficult to disregard the issue of
climate change when the president of the United States is arguing that its existence is
indisputable and demands that citizens take action

It s always good to start investing money at an early age, however, it s a hard start.
Many banks have improved interest rates as well as no opening fees to start a

Restructuring of Ford Motor Company
Alan Mulally s Restructuring of Ford Motor Company Case Study Alan Mulally
received an opportunity to turn around one of the most famous brand names in the
United States. Ford was struggling; losing more than 12.7 million in 2006 (Nelson
p558) and desperately needed a change. Alan Mulally took the challenge, and stated
he would do what many thought was impossible at the time make Ford profitable. He
did just that.
Mulally knew Ford had issues and the first step was to identify those structural
issues. The issues included a wide variety of models and styles of automobiles. A

By closing the gaps in the global operations, putting accountability in place and
delivering on what customers wanted, One Ford and Mulally have been a success.
Mulally had the vision, understanding of the contextual variables, and the ability to
compile it into an organizational design. This was the backbone of his success.
Mulally is aware that succession planning is the key to Ford s overall strategy and
tactics and has announced his successor COO Mark Fields (Taylor). One really
needs to understand what Mulally really accomplished with One Ford fourpoint
business plan. He was able to keep Ford out of the bailout and focused on growth
and opportunity. He brought a company that looked doomed for Government
ownership into profitability and success, and is still one of the leaders in the
industry. Mulally might have said it best when he said, But we stuck with the plan,
we stayed on the plan, and we re very pleased that today we have a foundation now.
Not only have we fixed the fundamentals of the business, but we kept investing in
the product. This type of leadership and message can only encourage everyone
around him. Mulally s business cards read, One Team в€™ One Plan в€™ One Goal
and that sums up a power strategy and something from which all leaders should learn.

The Importance Of Music
Finally, Joyce herself enters wearing a black tunic with dark pants and boots. She
begins with prayer and prays for a variety of people who might be at the event,
including those who are hurting and those who need to be convicted. After her
prayer she introduces her husband, who comes out to emphasize the joy of being
in Charlotte. Dressed in a blazer, light blue button up shirt and jeans, Dave talks
with one hand in his pocket as he addresses the crowd telling us that he believes God
has a word for everyone , his voice getting louder on everyone .
After Joyce taught for another 10 minutes, the worship team from Elevation Church
comes onto the stage, with three women and a man leading worship. They are all
young, under 40 and dressed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After Joyce pauses her teaching once again, a video plays introducing her ministry.
Meanwhile, ushers move up and down the aisles with offering cards, ensuring that
everyone has at least one. Joyce returns and briefly draws attention to Steven Furtick,
pastor of Elevation Church, and his wife Holly. When Joyce mentions Elevation the
crowd cheers loudly, and the camera shows a shot of Steven and Holly sitting front
and center on floor level. Joyce then introduces the opportunity people will have to
give, but wants to talk about giving first. She connects the gift of Jesus Christ to our
giving gifts; because God gave the best and only, so all of us can help and give our
best. Another video plays telling about Project Girl, a charity that helps women
facing a variety of global challenges. The worship band returns to the stage as people
fill their donation cards, and people stand as they finish giving and join in with the
worship.
After worship, Joyce returns and turns the focus onto her own ministry and the need
for financial support through becoming a partner. She highlights the high cost of
being on TV, and knowingly glances at the audience as she reminds them the
admission price was free freeing them up to be generous elsewhere. The ushers pass
buckets to every row to glean the generosity, and Joyce begins the major teaching
portion of the evening. Joyce relied on her own experience and vulnerability,

Conversation Analysis Paper
Conversation Analysis
Conversation analysis refers to a model of analyzing spoken communication or
interactions for the determination of how language develops within social contexts. It
is useful in understanding interactions with classroom settings, courtrooms and in
interviews (Sidnell, 2011). Conversation analysis provides a framework for assessing
specific aspects of an oral interaction, such as opening and closing, topic management,
adjacency pairs, feedback, preference organization, turn taking and repair. Opening
and closing is a crucial element of a conversation as it influences the starting and
finishing of oral interactions. Notably, different cultures have divergent approaches to
opening and closing conversations. Antaki (2011) illustrates that the place of the
conversation also influences the nature of opening and closing statements. For
instance, communication across online platforms, including social media networks
have different opening and closing approaches when compared to face to face
communication. Sidnell (2011) indicates that ... Show more content on

An effective conversation provides all participants with opportunities of contributing
to discourse. Conversation analysis seeks to establish the need for eliminating
possibilities of having overly dominant speakers within conversations (Wong Waring,
2010). Feedback mechanisms are also analyzed to determine whether conversations
provide participants with opportunities of providing responses. It is however notable
that feedback differs across cultures. Social media platform are designed to provide
users with opportunities of providing feedback or expressing their reactions to
specific content. However, the language used to provide feedback in social media
conversations may not be culturally relevant owing to the divergent cultural values of
members of online communities (Thurlow Mroczek,
Genie And Language Development
Genie, a girl rescued from 13 years of abuse, became an important case study for
psychologists because of her tragic experience. She spent most of her childhood in
isolation, and scientists were able to settle important theories regarding language
development. With a well researched analysis of Genie, it can be assumed that
language development relies on social interactions with others. Evidence to support
this was the fact that she was able to learn the names of common objects, but couldn t
construe them into a well formed, grammatically correct sentence. Another theory
that was supported was the concept of children having a critical window to learn
language to effectively use it throughout their life; Genie, having missed this window

4.3Network analysis
In the results section, five drugs with highest centrality value and five drugs with
lowest centrality value were presented in tables with the corresponding first level
ATC code. However, all three centrality measures (degree, betweenness, and
closeness) did not show a fixed pattern. Drugs that acquire high centrality value do
not necessarily be identified with top seven ATC code (N, C, J, S, D, A, R) and
vice versa, except for ATC code for drugs with the highest five closeness centrality
value happened to be in the top group. This could suggest there is possibility of drug
interactions from various therapeutic classes.
From Figure 7, majority of drugs lie on the left side of distribution, i.e. low
degrees, and this could imply that drug interactions were likely to be evenly
distributed in the drug side effect network. Justification of this matter can be
inferred from the network itself, where there was one massive component with 356
drugs (out of 424 drugs). Drugs with the highest and lowest degree are carteolol
and ginkgo respectively. Therefore, in the region with a lot of overlapping nodes in
Figure 5, carteolol is difficult to be spotted due to high number of adjacent edges
connected to it. For ginkgo, it possesses a low degree centrality value since ginkgo is
connected only to hydroxychloroquine by Group 2 interaction (i.e. drugs with similar
structures or targets).

Raz Relation Between Law And Morality
1. Introduction Raz introduces the purpose of his paper to answer the reductive and
age old question of the relation between morality and law. In the first section of his
essay, he defends the Source Thesis where he explains the nature of legitimate
practical authority. The second section, the implication of this analysis is elucidated
to show the relevancy to our understanding of the law. The relation of the analysis
with the there theses is examined. In the last section the connection between law and

He mentions that the link between morality and law does not necessarily mean
that the legal validity of a rule is dependent on the truth of a moral propagation,
through a rule of recognition. He says this link can be very well established by the
law futhering attributes that the society values, which entails the features of moral
good. This is also why he says that the Separability Thesis is implausible as every
legal system does some moral good. He says that all moral consequences of legal
rule are part of not part of law, but some can be attributed to the author of the

  • 1. Editing Essay Writing an essay on the topic of "Editing Essay" can be quite challenging, as it involves a certain level of self-awareness and critical analysis. The difficulty arises from the need to objectively evaluate one's own writing, which can be a daunting task. It requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to identify weaknesses, inconsistencies, and areas that could be strengthened. One of the main challenges is overcoming the inherent bias that comes with being the author of the essay. It's not easy to distance oneself from the content and view it objectively, as familiarity with the text may cloud judgment. Additionally, recognizing the need for improvement and being open to constructive criticism is essential, but it can be emotionally challenging. Another difficulty lies in the technical aspects of editing, such as grammar, punctuation, and formatting. While some writers may excel in expressing their ideas, they may struggle with the finer details of language mechanics. This requires a comprehensive understanding of the rules of grammar and the ability to apply them consistently. Furthermore, the process of self-editing can be time-consuming. It involves multiple rounds of revisions to ensure clarity, coherence, and overall effectiveness. This can be mentally taxing as it demands sustained focus and attention to detail. In conclusion, tackling an essay on the topic of "Editing Essay" involves navigating the complexities of self-assessment, overcoming biases, honing technical skills, and dedicating significant time and effort. It's a task that requires both a critical mindset and a commitment to the iterative process of improvement. • 2. The Liberator By Alberto Arvelo In 2013 the biopic of SimГіn BolГvar called The Liberator , directed by Alberto Arvelo was created to demonstrate the liberation of Latin America during the 1800s as well as the various obstacles SimГіn BolГvar had overcome in order to free his country. The Liberator was an impactful film that truly demonstrated the hardships and inferiority of indigenous life due to Spain s reign of dominance which drastically damaged the overall tone and development of many Latin Americans. Throughout the duration of the film, various themes such as inequality, nationalism, and liberalism were present during BolГvar s war against the Spanish Empire; BolГvar s ideals on the true destiny of man had both divided the country between patriots and royalists as well as sparking a revolution against the Spanish due to his disobedience. SimГіn BolГvar was a Venezuelan militaries and political leader known as The Liberator for his role in challenging the powerful Spanish Empire in order to establish independence and equality within Latin America. However, despite fighting for a noble cause and providing unity amongst the indigenous people of Latin America, BolГvar s leadership was often questioned due to his determination to win liberty. The film The Liberator was a biopic that followed the life of SimГіn BolГvar during Latin American Independence in which he led his military consisting of natives against the Spanish in order to achieve liberty. I feel that Alberto Arvelo of Caracas,
  • 3. Hamburger Essay Big Tasty Hamburger At times when we are in a hurry, hamburgers are one of the easiest foods to eat while on the go. No matter what time it is whether its breakfast, lunch, or dinner we grab a hamburger and might throw in some fries and a soda to go with it. Many restaurants are known to make their hamburgers in a specific way. Preparation differs from restaurant to restaurant. But what really makes a hamburger taste so delicious? Depending where you go they will taste different but they are all structured the same. It consists of a bun, a ground meat pattyand often ingredients such as cheese, onion slices, lettuce and other condiments. I occasionally like to buy juicy burgers that look and taste great. When your food is served it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Third but not least, the conclusion provides an almost mirror image of the introduction, wrapping up the arguments with a restatement of the thesis of your essay. I call this the bottom burger bun or in other words the conclusion. Holding it all together is the bottom bun of the hamburger or the conclusion to sum up all the key points of interest. The conclusion sentence should be interesting by giving it a call to action. As you can see a hamburger is easy to make like writing is not as hard as you think. Writing is very simple to do as preparing a hamburger. Although, most of the time hamburgers are dry and taste like cardboard. They are the ones that tend to not be juicy or appealing to the eye. Believe it or not, essays are similar to dry burgers. Writing essays can lack clear thoughts, explanations, and opinions as well as vague arguments. As a result an essay that is boring and not interesting end up receiving a poor grade. However, a hamburger can be re made to taste better like an essay can be revised or edited. In writing, as in other kinds of production, the process directly affects the quality of the product. If we prepare a meal quickly, assembling poor ingredients without much thought or attention, we aren t likely to end up with a tasty dish. The best chefs, like the best writers, refine their methods and think carefully about what they are doing, with close attention to detail to

London, Brilliance Audio. In the book, Captive Audience: The Telekom Industry and Monopoly Power in the New Gilded Age, the Author, Susan Crawford is discussing how a decade ago, United States was the benchmark for internet service provision. The U.S. boasted of the fastest internet speed, highest penetration rates, and the lowest prices in the market. The United States was then recognized as a leading knowledge economy. However, today, things have suddenly changed, a situation attributed towards lackluster government legislations that have given rise to new monopolies hence allowing countries such as Singapore, Japan, and Europe to overtake the U.S in terms of average broadband speed, penetration rates, and prices. This backslide has not only deprived consumers premium services and contents in a competitive global landscape, but also threatening to derail the country s economic prospects. According to Susan, who is the author of the book, she believes that once upon a time, she was found in a fortunate position to decide on a television and internet package. Susan had a choice of two companies to choose from, and these very companies provided broadband connectivity, telephony services, and myriad of television channels than she could hardly afford to enjoy. Unfortunately, this particular choice of providers is only available to the
  • 5. The Chemical And Gas Sensors Introduction: There has been a rapid growth in the field of biosensing through both ultrasensitive chemical and gas sensors. The bio sensing protocols that are able to detect specific biological and chemical species, sensitively and specifically (selectively) can noticeably influence our daily lives. The issues related to monitoring of industrial emissions, medical diagnosis and public security are significant application fields of gas sensing in particular. Nano engineered materials including Carbon Nanotubes and Graphene are being used to develop miniaturized sensors that can detect very low concentrations of gases which are biomarkers of certain diseases like lung cancer in particular. The composition of exhaled breath contains valuable information about certain volatile and semi volatile compounds which can be used to generate a chemical fingerprint and thereby screen patients with lung cancer. Graphene and Carbon Nanotubes have been discussed for the development of chemical sensing platform. A.Graphene for biosensing: Graphene is a 2 D form of carbon with planar structure and sp2 bonding. It is a single layer of graphite with inter planar spacings of 3.35 A0. It has attracted tremendous interest due to its exceptional and unique properties. Some of its properties that are relevant to its widespread use in gas sensors have been discussed below. Properties: 1. The high specific surface area of graphene (both suspended and supported on substrate) provide increased

From my experiences of personal and family tragedies, I know that suffering is part of life and is unavoidable, it is as certain as death and completes our journey here on earth; however, we should not let this suffering go to waste but let it contribute to a deeper meaning to our lives. • 7. Life Worth In Hamlet What is your life worth to you? How do you assess value in your life? These might be questions you ve thought about before, or they may not be. Do you view your worth as a dollar estimate or do you look at your value on emotional terms? In Shakespeare s Hamlet, we see a very contemptuous outlook on life, from an emotional standpoint. Rather than overcoming his troubles, he wallows in his own heartache. Compared to the actions of Roger Ebertand Steve Jobs, Hamlet is a foil. In times of tragedy it is important to realize what truly matters to you, and not what seems to be important for the moment. We come to understand this critical concept through Ebert and Jobs. Not only that, but we also come to realize the idea of assigning value to someone s life from a financial standpoint is unjust, because our true value lies within the relationships we develop and the legacy we leave behind. In our first reading, we can conclude that Hamlet s perspective on life s worth is dismissive; he in fact despises his life so much, he wishes he could end it. Hamlet, the main character of Shakespeare s play titled Hamlet, declares that life is nothing more than a sea of troubles (Ln. 4) Although I admire William Shakespeares timeless work, I think his central claim, to be or not to be (Ln.1) is pessimistic and cowardly. I personally disagree with Hamlet even though his outlook on life is evaluated on an emotional level rather than financial. But how can anyone be happy when their vision of

Nearly a quarter of the people on earth respond to it with the enduring spirit of Islam. The video states that in the Islam religion, Mohammed is the Messenger of God. The Islamic civilization has been one of the humanity s grandest achievements, a worldwide power founded simply on faith, a spiritual revolution that would shape the nations of three continents, and launch an Empire. For the West, much of the history of Islam has been obscured behind a veil of fear and misunderstanding. It was Muslim scholars who retained the wisdom of the Greeks while Europe languished in the dark ages. It was Muslims who sowed the seeds of the Renaissance 600 years before the birth of Leonardo Da Vinci. From the way they heal the sick to the numerals they use for counting, cultures across the globe have been shaped by the Islamic civilization. However, all this began with an ordinary man and the profound message he proclaimed would change the world forever. His name was Mohammed. To Muslims, the life of Muhammad is a story revealed. Muhammad was born in or around 570 AD in the sun blasted Arabian Peninsula, a land of scarcity whose tribes were always in a state of war. While still an infant, Muhammad s parents gave him his first tasteful of life in the dessert. Muhammad was from a town named Mecca, but he was sent off to live with the better

A Brief Note On Balancing A College Life Balancing a College Life Just when I thought I was done with one of the most stressful parts of my life, college happened and it got even more intense. School is stressful, but throw in an afterschool job and a social life, and studying is just hard to manage. Freshman year of college might be one of the most stressful years for students. The fact that they are living on their own for the first time is terrifying for most freshman. Parents are not there to do everything for them. It is a lot to handle when they are only eighteen. Students should ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After reading part of what the president of Colorado State University Campus said it helps to provide the first solution. The first solution is time management. Time management is something not everyone can perfect. There are adults today who still cannot manage their busy schedule. The best way to do this is to figure out what the students plan is for that particular day or week and figure when or where they need to be in order for them to make sure everything they need to do is done. This all starts with what time they have to get ready to begin their day. What time are they going to wake up? Do they need to make room for homework and studying? Do they have to go to work today? What else needs to be done? These questions should be asked in order to plan more efficiently. If they have an hour in between that could be used for eating, studying, or napping. If students are busy and have free time they should take advantage of it and try to get their homework done or study for an upcoming test or quiz. The second solution is learning how to multi task. This is where students learn to be experts at doing multiple things at once. There is a right way to multi task and a wrong way. The obvious wrong way would be driving while trying to finish breakfast, and study for a test that is scheduled for your first class. In order to properly multi task students need to switch their focus constantly. The first thing students should do is make a to do list. The

A first come first serve basis for assigning parking spots to students only causes crowding and large empty spaces. With only enough cars to fill up half a parking lot, it would make sense to spread them out evenly. Numbers for these spots should be first handed out evens first, so at least for awhile there will be an ease of entering and exiting individual parking spots with out having to watch out for every other vehicle around. Then later in the year as needed the odd numbered spots can be issued, filling up all empty spaces. When vehicles are on both sides of a spot it can be difficult to pull straight into a parking spot without having to back out and try again because of the tight aisle. If all the spots are tight together and the students have to back in there will be a large back up and there will be total tyranny. • 16. Alchemy as the Precursor to Modern Medicine Practices Chemical medicine originates from medical alchemy of the medieval period. Its nature was controversial and the acceptance and practice of chemical medicine caused problems with those who had strong ties with Scholasticism that rooted them in the Galenic tradition and made them wary of new practices and innovations. The fact that chemical medicinebecame quite popular thanks to the sixteenth century Swiss doctor Paracelsus only increased the controversial nature. Paracelsus was well known for his miraculous cures as well as for rejecting the European medical organization (De Vos, 2007). Paula De Vos (2007) wrote an article about the introduction of chemical medicine into Mexican medical practices during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. She shares a case of a DoГ±a Michaela de Sierra, whose legs had been paralysed for over 25 years but had been cured with a series of medications that were a combination of traditional Galenic treatments and chemical medicines. This shift of treatments, from the purely Galenic preparations to the inclusion of chemical medicines, is validated by the appearance of contemporary pharmaceutical texts in the late seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries. The change occurred at the same time to a similar alteration in Spain. The inauguration of Charles II to the throne started an era of acceptance to changes in medical practices. This medical development happened later in Spain and Mexico compared to other European countries
  • 17. Interracial Marriage In The 1950s In 1958, an interracial couple living in Virginia was arrested after getting married. This started the Supreme Court Case Loving v. Virginia, which took place in 1967. At that time, interracial marriage was illegal in some states, one of those states being Virginia. In the 1950s, there was a lot of conflict going on. For an example, the civil rights movement was growing, and the campaign against communism revealed the hidden divisions in American society. A group of Americans that is continually growing spoke out against inequality and injustice during the 1950s. African Americans had been fighting against racial discrimination for centuries; during the 1950s, however, the struggle against racism and segregation entered the mainstream of American life. (History, The 1950s) Although they weren t very common, they were definitely frowned upon by society. The Loving v. Virginia Supreme Court Case changed people s views on interracial marriage, helped it become legal in every state, and shaped the American culture of today. On June 2, 1958, Mildred Jeter, and Richard Loving got married in the District of Columbia and then returned to Virginia shortly after. However, they were in violation of Virginia code 20 54, which declared marriages between white and colored persons unlawful, as well as code 20 58, which made it unlawful to go out of state to marry with the intention to return and cohabit as husband and wife (Coleman, Loving v Virginia). Shortly after their marriage,

  • 20. Karen Horney Was One Of The First Noted Female Psychoanalyst Karen Horney was one of the first noted female psychoanalyst theorist who, along with Alfred Adler, formed the Neo Freudian discipline. She did not agree that individuals are ruled by their repressed sexual passions and with many of Freud s other theories. Her theory on personality put more emphasis on the individual s childhood experiences and the social and cultural aspects that affect them. In order to explain a person s personality, Horney developed the theory of neurosis. In it she listed the ten basic neurotic needs, how people coped with life, and she looked at self realization versus self idealization . We can use Horney s theory to examine the personality of the recently elected president, Donald Trump. The 2016 election... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But it is reported that during those years Donald still got into fights with other students and was angry or aggressive at times. Donald worked for his father s construction company during the summers and went on to Fordham University and then transferred to the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated with a degree in economics in 1968. After he graduated he joined the family business and moved to Manhattan where he tried to grow it beyond what his father had done. Using Horney s theory we can examine the early years of Trump s life. Of the ten basic neurotic needs Trump strongly shows the need for power, the need for social recognition, and the need for personal achievement (Horney, 1942). As Horney s theory emphasizes childhood experiences, we can see how a child who grew up in a big family that was affluent would want power and social recognition. He grew up needing to compete with his siblings for his parents attention and by watching his father he believed that success in his career was the best way to achieve personal success. Lots of Trump s actions pointed to him trying to fill his need for social recognition: he was a star athlete, a student leader, and he was known for being cocky. In Horney s book, Neurosis and Human Growth, she says feeling at bottom isolated and hostile he can only develop an urge to need to lift

It sounds unreal, almost. Well, there is someone who got affected by colors. It s me. In fact, I was not always interested in colors until Eighth Grade. I used to be a person who did not focus on colors in everyday life, just like most people do, but now I care colors so much because of situations I have experienced. Thankfully, everything in the world has a color, and it used for many different purposes. Human eyes can see many different colors because they are very sensitive. For me, the color is something that impacts and changes my state and thoughts. I love looking at colors because it supports the words I am saying and gives me many different moods. I remember the times that I realized how much colors impact on me. When I was in eighth grade in South Korea, I got a chance to visit DMZ, or 38th parallel. DMZ stands for the Demilitarized Zone, where it divides Korea into a half. While I was in DMZ, I felt like I was in 1970s. South Koreans lived in DMZ, but it was a lonesome place. When I came back to school, my teacher wanted me to explain the difference between North Korea, DMZ, and South Korea, and I could not find ways to explain. Suddenly, I thought of colors, only because they were simple. Then, I immediately started to color the south side of Korea as Blue, North as Red , and DMZ as Light Purple. I said that Red indicates the communism and blood. Blue as a peace, and Purple as a confusion. Everyone can guess Red as something about violence, and Blue is something about peace. However, people don t know what Purple describes because it can be anything. Purple is certainly the mixture of Red and Blue, but people don t go deeper. I said light Purple because DMZ was a very clean place. The word confusion came to my mind, because I was confused if I saw DMZ as more of South side or North side, and I used it to explain the meaning of colors to my teacher. It was a total success! That s how I started to use them to support my opinion. (I use color to to give a detail often) I went to Canada this summer, and I traveled Banff and Vancouver. In Banff,

In the Qualitative researcharticle titled A Cognitive Behavioral Approach to Client Anxiety, Anger, Depression, and Guilt Kevin C. Murphy (1980) discusses how counselors are often trying to find ways to address ways to reach a client to help them through the thought process, through using different therapeutic techniques... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another strategy goes into helping the client create a mental shield around them that can t be broken down (Schimmel Jacobs, 2011). Other concepts that a counselor may address is cultural aspects. (Jacobs, 2011) In a Qualitative article titled Managing racial anger: A Critical Skill in Cultural Competence Alexis D. Abernethy (1995) addresses how some ethnic populations may come to a therapy session having anger as being the main complication. The issue might revolve around job discrimination, job dissatisfaction etc. However, the counselor may show empathy before understanding the client s situation or perspective, which may create a dilemma (Abernethy, 1995, p. 97). Cultural aspects are not the only concept for those who struggle with anger, Gender experience may also play a role. In a quantitative article titled Sex Difference in the Relationship of Anger and Depression: an Empirical Study Jody L. Newman, Elizabeth A. Gray, and Dale R. Fuqua (1999) go into detail about a study that had been conducted on two different inventories. The two inventories calculated the mean score between sexes and found that women scored much higher on depression, however there was no difference between the six anger scales that were considered between the sexes (Newman, Gray, Fuqua, 1999). The Exponential Model Coordinates Population Growth Essay Discussion Commonly speaking, the theoretical and practical outcome of corresponding experiments done before should be similar with the results of this time. The exponential model approximates population growth in its early stage. Table 3.4.1 shows the numbers generated by an organism that doubles at each cycle. Table 3.4.1: Number of Generations: 0 1 2 ... 10 ... 25 ... 40 ... 72 Number of Organisms: 1 2 4 ... 1024 3.4 x 10^7 1.1 x 10^12 4.7 x10^21. (Yeagers et al. 1996). Similarly, the first two growth graphs drawn above are also in acceleration phase in the beginning, except the fact that there is a sudden decrease of P. caudatum on the 12th day. However, as on the following two days the number does not continue to go down, there must be some errors when sampling and counting. Despite that the person who conducted the experiment might operate inaccurately during some steps, one of the most common error could happen when counting. Moving swiftly here and there, not all paramecium would slow down obviously, which easily triggers counting mistake. But as the density of the population increases, certain resources such as food and space become scarce, predation and disease increase, and waste begins to accumulate. These negative conditions generate a feedback effect: Increasing population density produces conditions that slow down population growth. An equilibrium situation results, in which the population

According to Max Perham the longbow was invented by the Celts in Wales around 1180, but was not really used by the English military until the 1300 s. Also according to Virginia Ream the army s attacking would not just bombard the castle walls. There were people that would dig under the castle s walls to weaken them then they would fire at that area to bring them down. I found more information on this mining strategy on medieval castles.net. The large battle scenes were almost funny on how the catapults and trebuchets they had fired. It looked more like a cannon firing the projectiles. Nevertheless, these machines fire more like a rainbow. You can find more information on this at

The subsections are organized into the following: algorithms, classification of hypertension, lifestyle modifications, pharmacological treatment, and management of care. It is important to note that JNC 6 and 7 have a greater correlation in format and the types of recommendations presented to clinicians. Contrastingly JNC 8 varies in format, as well as the type of recommendations presented to clinicians, therefore each of the subsections may not contain information on JNC 8. Goal blood pressures are separated by age and presence of chronic disease. The goal for patients over 60 is SBP 150 mmHg and DBP 90 mmHg. The goal for patients under 60 is 140 mmHg and DBP 90 mmHg. Different goal values are presented for patients with chronic conditions. Treatment with medication is categorized by: general population nonblack, general population black, chronic conditions black, and chronic condition all races. Based on the algorithm black patients should only be prescribed thiazide type diuretics and/or calcium channel blockers. While non black patients can take all of the medications listed in JNC 8 (thiazide type diuretics, ACEI, ARB, and/or CCB). If patient does not reach goal blood pressure then three strategies are listed, along with lifestyle adherence. The algorithm also explains not to use ACEI and ARB together. The final option for patients not at goal blood pressure includes additional medications and/or referral to physician with an expertise in hypertension

Before The Flood Before the Flood Film Analysis Fisher Stevens exposes the catastrophic effects of climate change and the imperative need to take action to halt its rapid progression through the 2016 documentary Before the Flood. In the film, the narrator, Leonardo DiCaprio, travels around the world to unveil the devastating global impact of rising temperatures, interviewing experts, advocates, and notable figures along the way. DiCaprio demonstrates the significance of climate change on a global scale through the varying perspectives and individual impact in both developed and developing countries. Obama explains that even if the sentimental loss created by the destruction of our earth isn t enough for people to acknowledge importance of this issue, they must express concern with the national security implications and the survival of our current world order threatened by climate change. Throughout the interview, Obama emphasizes our need to take action now. Because the president of the United States is a highly respected and influential figure, this scene establishes substantial credibility or ethos in the film. Not only is Barrack Obama highly regarded because of his presidential position, but he has recently expressed concern in the issue of climate change with his involvement in the Paris Agreement, a plan designed to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions and deter global warming. The audience is likely to trust the opinion of someone who proves he is well informed and involved in the issue. Barrack Obama s appearance and support in the film serves Stevens purpose because it encourages the audience to more willingly trust the information in the documentary and acknowledge the significance of climate change. It is extremely difficult to disregard the issue of climate change when the president of the United States is arguing that its existence is indisputable and demands that citizens take action

When Joyce mentions Elevation the crowd cheers loudly, and the camera shows a shot of Steven and Holly sitting front and center on floor level. Joyce then introduces the opportunity people will have to give, but wants to talk about giving first. She connects the gift of Jesus Christ to our giving gifts; because God gave the best and only, so all of us can help and give our best. She highlights the high cost of being on TV, and knowingly glances at the audience as she reminds them the admission price was free freeing them up to be generous elsewhere. The ushers pass buckets to every row to glean the generosity, and Joyce begins the major teaching portion of the evening. Joyce relied on her own experience and vulnerability, peppering the
  • 46. Conversation Analysis Paper Conversation Analysis Conversation analysis refers to a model of analyzing spoken communication or interactions for the determination of how language develops within social contexts. It is useful in understanding interactions with classroom settings, courtrooms and in interviews (Sidnell, 2011). Conversation analysis provides a framework for assessing specific aspects of an oral interaction, such as opening and closing, topic management, adjacency pairs, feedback, preference organization, turn taking and repair. Opening and closing is a crucial element of a conversation as it influences the starting and finishing of oral interactions. Notably, different cultures have divergent approaches to opening and closing conversations. Antaki (2011) illustrates that the place of the conversation also influences the nature of opening and closing statements. For instance, communication across online platforms, including social media networks have different opening and closing approaches when compared to face to face communication. Sidnell (2011) indicates that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An effective conversation provides all participants with opportunities of contributing to discourse. Conversation analysis seeks to establish the need for eliminating possibilities of having overly dominant speakers within conversations (Wong Waring, 2010). Feedback mechanisms are also analyzed to determine whether conversations provide participants with opportunities of providing responses. It is however notable that feedback differs across cultures. Social media platform are designed to provide users with opportunities of providing feedback or expressing their reactions to specific content. However, the language used to provide feedback in social media conversations may not be culturally relevant owing to the divergent cultural values of members of online communities (Thurlow Mroczek,

She spent most of her childhood in isolation, and scientists were able to settle important theories regarding language development. With a well researched analysis of Genie, it can be assumed that language development relies on social interactions with others. Evidence to support this was the fact that she was able to learn the names of common objects, but couldn t construe them into a well formed, grammatically correct sentence. Another theory that was supported was the concept of children having a critical window to learn language to effectively use it throughout their life; Genie, having missed this window was

However, all three centrality measures (degree, betweenness, and closeness) did not show a fixed pattern. Drugs that acquire high centrality value do not necessarily be identified with top seven ATC code (N, C, J, S, D, A, R) and vice versa, except for ATC code for drugs with the highest five closeness centrality value happened to be in the top group. This could suggest there is possibility of drug interactions from various therapeutic classes. From Figure 7, majority of drugs lie on the left side of distribution, i.e. low degrees, and this could imply that drug interactions were likely to be evenly distributed in the drug side effect network. Justification of this matter can be inferred from the network itself, where there was one massive component with 356 drugs (out of 424 drugs). Drugs with the highest and lowest degree are carteolol and ginkgo respectively. Therefore, in the region with a lot of overlapping nodes in Figure 5, carteolol is difficult to be spotted due to high number of adjacent edges connected to it. For ginkgo, it possesses a low degree centrality value since ginkgo is connected only to hydroxychloroquine by Group 2 interaction (i.e. drugs with similar structures or targets). This is also why he says that the Separability Thesis is implausible as every legal system does some moral good.
