Difference Between Chipotle And Bread
When I was a kid I did not enjoy eating and was very particular about that foods I consumed. My
mother would always try to trick me into eating by bribing me or telling me that the food would
give me powers. I also did not enjoy going to restaurants because I found it boring and since I was
not looking forward to the foodit was not a pleasant trip. But now I enjoy eatingand going to
restaurants, in fact, I eat more at restaurants than I do at home. Two of my favorite restaurants are
Chipotle and Bread Zeppelin Salads Elevated and they have some similarities but also
differences. Two similarities between Chipotle and Bread Zeppelin Salads Elevated are food
presentation and line service; two differences are the menu and price. The first similarity between
Chipotle and Bread Zeppelin Salads Elevated is the food presentation. Chipotle is known for their
savory burrito, a tortillafilled with your choice of rice, beans, meat and any extra toppings such as
lettuce, cheese, sour cream, all wrapped around in the flour tortilla. After the burrito is wrapped,
they hand it to you wrapped around tin foil to keep it warm and fresh. Bread Zeppelin Salads
Elevated offers the customer the same choices as chipotle of picking the ingredients and after the
ingredients have been chosen, a worker will take all the ingredients and lay them on a cutting
board to chop them into small pieces. After the worker is done chopping, he or she will take a
french baguette and hollow it out by taking off

Recycling At The United Kingdom
Recycling is a process that continues to develop and become more popular within waste
management. As there is a wide amount of literature relating to this topic the following review will
focus in on aspects such as recycling behaviours and recycling in the curriculum.
Recycling in the United Kingdom
Recycling is the method by which waste is collected and processed into raw materials, which in
turn are processed into new products (Prestin and Pearce, 2010). This helps the UK comply with
the EC Landfill Directive targets that state to reduce the quantity of municipal waste going to
landfill sites (Kurz et al, 2007). The primary goal of recycling schemes is to increase the amount
of material that is collected and recycled, meaning that less waste is going to disposal (Lane and
Wagner, 2013). Woodard et al (2004) stated that the percentage of households in the United
Kingdom involved in recycling needed to continue to increase to reach the national target of
recycling household waste, therefore local authorities got involved in incentives, which is
discussed later in the review. (Woodard et al, 2004). A main concern in modern society is the
current state of the environment; it is a topic that is frequently examined in research. It has been
found that people want to act in a way to enhance sustainability in the environment and recycling is
a fairly simple behaviour which has a major impact on this. Recycling is also economically feasible
whilst having great impacts on the

Beat Countercultural Movement Essay
To say that the Beat generation has affected modern culture seems at first to be no great revelation;
it is inevitable that any period of history will affect the time that follows. The Beat generation is
especially significant, though, because of its long lasting impact on American culture. Many
aspects of modern American culture can be directly attributed to the Beat writers, primarily Allen
Ginsburg, William Burroughs, Neal Cassady, and Jack Kerouac. (Asher) Their influence has
changed the American perception of obscenity, has had profound effects on American music and
literature, and has modified the public s views on such topics as sex and drug use. The label Beat

Many lines in Howl would have been considered obscene by the standards of his time, especially,
who let themselves be fucked in the ass by saintly motorcyclists, and screamed with joy. (Howl)
Prior to 1957, obscenity was legally defined as anything that has a substantial tendency to
deprave or corrupt its readers by inciting lascivious thoughts or arousing lustful desires.
(Obscenity) Since much of Howl is concerned with illicit drug use and sexual deviancy, it clearly
meets these requirements. Now, however, no second thought is given to works such as Howl.
Our culture has changed so drastically that not only has what was once considered obscene
become accepted, but it has been raised to the status of literature. The Beatniks, as they
eventually came to be known, also had a strong influence on music and literature. The artists of
the then emerging musical style of rock and roll, such figures as the Beatles and Bob Dylan,
were affected by the movement. In fact, Beatles was spelled with an a because of Kerouac s
influence on John Lennon. Paul McCartney played guitar for one of Ginsberg s albums. Bob
Dylan toured with Ginsberg, and considered Ginsberg and Kerouac both to be major influences.

The Four Dimensions Of Qualitative Research
The following paper will discuss the qualitative research, while describing its dimensions, basic
concepts, methods and differences. First, it will portray the four dimensions of the qualitative
research: positivism, postpositivism, constructivism and objectivism, which are divided into
epistemological and ontological. Secondly, it will describe the definition and basic concepts of the
qualitative research; and thirdly, it will represent the five methods possible while conducting a
qualitative research: phenomenology, ethnography, action research, grounded theory, and case
study. It will elaborate each method s definition, distinctive features and data collection methods. In
the end, it will present the differences between all above mentioned research methods. I.
Dimensions I.1. Epistemological positions Positivism is an epistemological position that supports
the implementation of the methods of the natural sciences to the study of social reality. According
to Johnson and Duberley (2000) it is an approach to research that attempts to match as closely as
possible to that in the natural sciences, by: a) relying on observations of the empirical world. b)
Avoiding the use of subjective or metaphysical speculation. c) Attempting to be objective,... Show

It implies that social phenomena and categories are not only produced through social interaction
but that they are in a constant state of revision (Bryman et al. 2006). Social constructivists hold
assumptions that individuals seek understanding of the world in which they live and work.
Individuals develop subjective meanings of their experiences meanings directed toward certain
objects or things. These meanings are varied and multiple, leading the researcher to look for the
complexity of views rather than narrowing meanings into a few categories or ideas (Creswell,

The Importance Of Poverty In Literature
The way things are written can have an effect on the audience drawn in. Most people are used to
generalized, every day vocabulary, as opposed to more complex and intricate words and
grammar. When reading an article, the easier the words are to interpret, the easier the article is
to read. However, this is not always the case. Sometimes, papers are going to be written using
more advanced vocabulary. They may even include data in the form of charts and tables. This is
when it gets harder for a general audience to read and interpret. It may be more accurate and
scientific, but is it too complex for people the comprehend? For example, there is a controversial
topic of poverty on the rise. Some people believe it is due to how one grows up, others believe it
is the lack of compensation, and some even believe it all deals with race. The two articles, What
Do We Think Poverty Looks Like? , written by Tracie McMillan, and, Poverty, Race, and the
Contexts of Achievement: Examining Education Experiences of Children in the U.S. South ,
written by Maryah Stela Fram, Julie E. Miller Cribbs, and Lee Van Horn, reveal thoughts on
what contributes to poverty. The difference is, these two articles are using two very different
genres. The scholarly article, written by Maryah Stella Fram, Julie E. Miller Cribbs, and Lee Van
Horn focuses on poverty and what social workers can do to minimize the effects. The writers of
this article chose to focus on an expert audience that have deep knowledge

Understanding The Value Of Health Economics
Understanding the value of health economics is very important during this rapidly changing
environment. Health economics is the study of how transactions or connections between health and
the resources needed are made and of the bottom line results (Getzen, 2013). Resources include
money but also people, materials and time that could have been used in other ways. Our healthcare
needs may be unlimited but the resources we have to satisfy them are not. We must make careful
choices about which needs are most important and how to manage limited resources. Decision
makers take the information given to make choices about what new and existing medicines and
technologic advances will be used. Vaccines for example and other new technologies can be very
costly. Therefore, we must measure whether or not the benefits outweigh the costs (Teitelbaum
Wilensky, 2013).
Health is important to us as individuals. As stated in Getzen (2013), health is so precious that its
value exceeds that of all the things we possess. Healthcare is one way of preventing and treating
illness and disease. Our country must make good decisions now for our future health. We need to
carefully evaluate and implement modern and emerging health technologies and advances (Getzen,
2013).
Americans needs to look at health care policy and understand what works and what does not work.
Health care policy and government involvement benefits society in many ways including improved
access to care, improved quality of

Resistance To Fight The Resistance Of The Holocaust
The word Holocaust evokes an undeniably bitter, terrifying and inhumane memory of the world s
history which should never happen again. The Holocaust occurred during WW2, between 1939
and 1945, and was introduced and organized by Adolf Hitler, the German leader of the Nazi Party
at that time. It is remembered as the killing of about six million Jewsin Europe. While the Nazis
were in power, Jews were hated and believed to jeopardize the purity of Germany, so they
persecuted them and passed many anti Jewish laws. For example, Jews were obliged to wear a
star of David either on an armband or a badge so they could be identified. Then, they were
arrested by the thousands, forced to live in ghettos, and later brought to concentration camps.
Some were labor camps, in which many Jews died due to starvation, forced hard labor or
diseases. However, by the early 1940 s there were new death camps that had gas chambers to help
get rid of them, like in Auschwitz. However, it is important to note that not all Jews stayed put
accepting their destiny. Many brave and determined Jews undertook some form of resistance to
fight the injustices of the Nazis. An example is Hannah Senesh, a Jewish fighter who trained as a
paratrooper so she could volunteer for an organized secret mission to rescue Jews in Hungarywho
were expected to be transferred to death camps in Auschwitz. As explained by Louise O. Vasvari,
Hannah Senesh is known as a Holocaust hero in Israeland considered the Israeli Joan

2016 Lxus Rx Essay
The design for the 2016 Lexus RX is certainly provocative, but it isn t really surprising. After all,
when Lexus slotted the all new for 2015 NX beneath it, the smaller and deeply chiseled crossover
strongly suggested that its larger and segment leading RX kin would get a similar makeover.
Even so, the changes to the RX (350 gasoline model; 450h hybrid) are nothing less than dramatic.
This model, known originally in 1998 as the RX 300, then as the RX 330 in 2004 before
assuming its present RX 350 mantle in 2007, will have you sit up and take notice. It is all part of
an extraordinary styling direction Lexus has been rolling out in recent years to make its models

Bible And The Lord s Prayer
I got very annoyed and was very disturbed when Moore discussed the ordination of women in the
Catholic Church; as well as the discussion about changing the words of the Bible and the Lord s
Prayer. First, Moore discusses feminist liberal movements changing the wording of the Bible:
Proffered gender neutral language, substituting brothers and sisters for brothers, interpreting the
pronoun He as the proper noun God, and using Our Parent instead of Our Father in the Lord s
Prayer (Moore 143). The Lord s Prayer was given to us by Christ in the Gospel of Matthew and the
Gospel of Luke. To turn around and decide you don t like the wording so you re going to change it
is very disturbing to me. The prevalence of the idea of genderneutral

in the rebellion and French and Indian War. The French speakers in lower Canada were lead into
rebellion by Papineau and the English speakers in upper Canada by Mackinzie. The French and
Indian War was a war between longtime rivals France and British in North America. It started at
the Ohio River Valley. The causes for the war were past rivalry, competition in fur trade, rival
native allies, and land disputes. The French and Indian War was called the 7 year war, it started in

The Fantastic Journey Of The Mathematics
Abstract: This paper is to give a brief description of the fantastic journey of the mathematics
throughout the time. It is intended to provide information through archeological about the
importance and use of counting systems by pre historic men. Also, it will illustrate how the
development of early civilizations and mathematics was closed related. Furthermore; it will shows
the development as a magical journey which involved many thousands of years.
The Origins When and where are the origins of mathematics?
The origins of mathematics accompanied the evolution of social systems in many ways. The social
development of any society requires some sort of calculation and the use of a number system. On
the same way, the arithmetic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since the invention of numbers and counting systems occurred when people started to live together
and formed the first human society, mathematical scenes was the link that helped them to form
societies and to develop a type of communication system and in a way help them to establish the
first trading system which in turn, was the fundamental factor to establish a communication
channel with other societies. For example, the article titled Mathematics in pre history says that
there is an archeological evidence which describe that they have used some kind of basic
mathematics as early as 30, 000 BCE, the article mentions that bone artifacts where discovered
that had use for reckoning time in sequences of numbers that agree with the number of days
included in successive phases of the moon . So, ancient math is an accepted fact, and maybe the
first method of counting was just a simple method like adding tow objects, or dividing food among
all the family members. Some scholars agree that they started counting by using their hands and
fingers, others say scientist say that the early man started counting by using sticks and stones.
However, we can only speculate on the effectiveness of these systems, but it is obvious that despite
being so simple it was an effective system for them.

Roman Culture And Western Civilization
As the Romans held on to Greek culture so eagerly it quickly became the foundation of Roman
culture. Roman forms of architecture evolved mostly from reshaping Greek models, but clearly
stands apart from its ancestors. The Romans were quick to adopt new techniques in construction;
new use of materials, and new architectural structures. The Romans made innovations to fully fulfill
the practical needs for the society as a whole. Among these architectural changes basilicas, temples,
amphitheaters, bridges and aqueducts, and residential blocks can be found engrained in Roman
culture as it positively impacted the lives of Romans. These inventions were paid for, organized,
and spread around by a state which fully supported the Roman Empire. The Romans influence in
monumental architecture as well as many other aspects of Western life remains clearly visible
today as it did back then. Western civilization presently compromises Western Europe and North
America and are believed to have derived from the influence of cultures found in the Roman
Empire. In this research essay, I will discuss and contrast Roman culture to Western Civilization as
well as emphasizing on the influences provided by the Roman Empire that are still prominent today.
First, What is architecture and why is it crucial to the rise of the Roman Empire?Architecture is the
art or practice of designing and building structures (Webster). Without its architecture, Rome

Irony In The Most Dangerous Game
Irony and imagery are both important writing tools, used to guide the reader through the story while
keeping them engaged and thinking about the story complexly. When used together successfully,
the reader can walk away with something to think about, a new perspective on something they
might have thought different about before. When considering this, I would argue that The Most
Dangerous Game, is overall a better story than The Necklace .
In both stories, irony is used to to teach a lesson. In Richard Cowell s The Most Dangerous Game,
he tells a story of a hunter who is put into the place of the hunted. At the beginning of the story the
protagonist, Reinsford, boasts about the extravagant nature of hunting for sport. The best sport in

By the end Reinsford feels sympathy for the hunted, being able to relate to the animals directly.
The irony used in this story is easily relatable to the reader, everyone at one point in time has had
some sort of drastic change in opinion. Whether it is about something as relative as the quality of
a story, or something considerably more important, like what makes something s life important,
we have all had that feeling. On the other hand, we have The Necklace, by Guy De Maupassant.
Maupassant s use of irony is less relatable and more comedic. He does this very well, oh my poor
Mathilde, but mine was only paste! (Maupassant, 1884, p. 208) A punch line of sorts, a funny
ending to a unfunny story. It is unexpected, and gets the reader to remember what has happened
earlier in the story, but when looking for an overarching theme, the humor could

Climate Change Is Not A Truth
I think man made climate change is not a truth.
Climate change has been a big global issue, and there are many reasons that scientists have
proposed. The factor on climate change includes solar radiation, the Earth s orbit changes, orogeny,
greenhouse gas emissions. The impact of climate change relative to changes in climate factors, it
may take long time to emerge.
Scientists use many methods to reconstruct past climate. One important indicator is the temperature
change over time. And we can find that Earth s temperature variation changes periodically.
Milankovitch proposed that climate change is due to the changes in the relative positions of the
Earth and the sun. It includes orbital eccentricity, obliquity, precession. Their relative periods

Defining Love In Sir Thomas Wyatt And Samuel Daniels
Sir Thomas Wyatt and Samuel Daniels have sonnets in which the speaker is attempting to define
love. With one speaker stating his daily life and the other expressing the feeling through paradoxes,
both ultimately end up with poems that are not conventionally good love poems. I allege that the
reason they cannot effectively define loveis that they do not truly understand it because their own
egos blind them from it. The scope of both sonnets is restricted to simply the speakers focus and
they spend all fourteen lines saying things of little consequence. Rather than getting across the point
that they are in love, they are showing their disillusionment in regards to what love is because they
are so self centered and thus inadept at writing poetry. I aim to reveal that these sonnets reveal more
about the speakers than about love through their choice of rhyme scheme, rhetorical devices, meter,
and repetition.
The speakers use different rhyme schemes. I find no peace is a Petrarchan sonnet and If this be love
is a Shakespearean sonnet. While not actually flouting the conventional patterns, the speakers use
diction that hardly allows the sonnets to be easily identified by their rhyme schemes. In the first
and fourth lines of I find no peace, for example, the speaker seems to rhyme done with on (Wyatt
ll. 1, 4). Instead of altering the word choice to better fit the Petrarchan rhyme scheme, the speaker
writes in the only diction he can think of. Wyatt s speaker is so focused on himself and his
paradoxical experience of love that he fails to create an effective sonnet.
We see a similar disregard for the standard form by Daniel s speaker. The rhyme scheme of a
Shakespearean sonnet is there, though not obviously with the speaker attempting to rhyme
thoughts and notes in the last quatrain (Daniel ll. 9, 11). I believe the weakness in the overall
rhyme scheme implies that the speaker is careless of tradition. This loose rhyming shows a lack of
regard for the form the speaker is attempting to emulate, further emphasizing the possibility that his
goal has not been to define love but to prove to others, and himself, that he is in love.
Wyatt s speaker describes love primarily by using paradoxes. However, he

Propose An On Demand Qos Routing Algorithm Essay
The main objective of this paper is to propose an on demand QoS routing algorithm. Since the
requirements for various applications may vary time to time, the approach for QoS routing may
not be proactive. The proposed approach has two phases namely route discovery phase and
route maintenance phase. When a source node has to pass data to a destination node with QoS
requirements it starts with the route discovery phase. Once the route is found, the data transfer
will take place. While data transmission is going on, it is also required to maintain the path to
the destination. This is very much desirable and required in mobile ad hoc networks and hence
is done in the route maintenance phase. Introduction In Mobile presence service is a vital
component of a social network applications due to mobile user s presence details such as global

4.2Objectives
The purpose of modeling the fate and transport of pollutants in surface water is for a better
understanding of the relationship between pollutant loads during rainfall events and to be able to
simulate and make predictions of future water quality conditions. By connecting stream flow rates
model to pollutant loads, the relationship between pollutant transport and water quality can be
determined. For this research, models of the fate and transport of the chloride and sulfate in Leon
River was constructed.
4.3Conceptual Model
The conceptual model for this research is a network model which models the rate of flow of
pollutant through a connected network of points in surface water. The water quality monitoring
stations represent such points and serve as containers. From analysis of the water quality
monitoring measurements of pollutants at each chosen station, it is observed that the concentration
levels of pollutants tend to be high where it has not rained for a long time compared to where it
rained the previous day or few days ago. This then can be interpreted to mean that the concentration
of pollutant in surface water is proportional to the amount of water in the surface water body.
Drought condition will concentrate the pollutants, while on the other hand rain events help to
dilute the pollutes because of increase of water and also contribute to the flow of the pollutant from
one point to the other

black woman to win an Oscar and bursting through walls that were keeping many women and
people of color away from acting. Being from Cleveland, Ohio it s hard to see the inspiration
Berry may have got for acting but the truth is she wasn t always interested in acting. At a young
age she was inspired by her retired nursing mom to become a nurse or a psychiatrist but decided
she didn t want to hear other people s problems and when she got to college decided to major in
journalism. She had also spent most of her time modeling and winning many beauty pageant

The Court and Sir Thomas Wyatt
The Court and Sir Thomas Wyatt
During the 16th Century, English poetry was dominated and institutionalised by the Court. Because
it excited an intensity that indicates a rare concentration of power and cultural dominance, the
Court was primarily responsible for the popularity of the poets who emerged from it. Sir Thomas
Wyatt, one of a multitude of the so called Court poets of this time period, not only changed the way
his society saw poetry through his adaptations of the Petrarchan Sonnet, but also obscurely
attempted to recreate the culture norm through his influence. Though much of his poems are
merely translations of Petrarch s, these, in addition to his other poetry, are satirical by at least a
cultural approach. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Complaint poems were often aimed in the sixteenth century at correcting the problem of which the
poem s speaker complains; in some of these poems the complaint merges with satire to urge
correction of man s foolish and vicious behaviour. Wyatt s complaint poems show an attempt to
change the laws of Courtly love and to employ the Renaissance philosophy of old freedoms
regained, thereby classifying them as satirical. In addition to criticising Courtly love, Wyatt mocks
the relationship of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn in his sonnet Whoso Lists to hunt. In the poem,
Wyatt compares the fantasy of courtly love with hunters chasing after a hind. The hunters
symbolise the courtiers while Anne Boleyn is the hunted hind. The poem contains the bloody
imagery that can be associated with a hunt; the speaker does not Draw from the deer his wearied
mind. This imagery accompanied with the inscription on the collar around the deer s neck, for
Caesar s I am, shows the disintegration of the institution of the Court. Henry VIII, who was well

This means that Arcadia Group is a very stable company and its leaders should not worry about
taxation policy in the future.
Political factors also cover such areas as competition policy, environmental legislation, employment
law, stability of the political system, trade restriction and tariffs etc. According to
www.hoovers.com, the main competitors for Arcadia Group are Next PLC, Marcs amp; Spencer
group PLC and Debenhams. These companies are also very popular and successful not only in the
UK, but also in other European countries. As Worthington and Britton claim (2006), UK
government competition policy has largely been concerned with regulating market behaviour and
in particular with controlling potential abuses of market power by firms acting singly or in concert
in specific markets. In the future Arcadia Group will not become a monopoly, because of such
strong competitors and a very strict UK government competition policy.
Concerning environmental problems Arcadia Group has a responsibility to lower the impact on the
environment. The company makes every effort to reduce consumption of valuable resources such
as energy, water and fuel. They are constantly developing ways to increase the efficiency and reduce
fuel consumption in their transport operations. And company is working hard to ensure they lower

Symbolism In Hawthorne s Young Goodman Brown
Symbolism is the use of symbols to express or represent ideas or qualities in literature and art. As
a result, many various authors use symbolism as a way to provide texture to their stories by
hinting at a different or even second meaning to the story or piece they have written. Most authors
will not disclose to the readers that they are using symbolism, so the readers have to infer whether
or not the author provides it in the work. In Nathaniel Hawthorne s short allegory Young Goodman
Brown, Hawthorne uses various forms of symbolism to give objects and characters in the story a
deeper meaning. In Young Goodman Brown, Nathaniel Hawthorne uses Goodman Brown s wife
Faith as symbolism to represent the man s faith in the Christian Religion. When... Show more

The story begins with the ribbons being in Faith s hair as the ribbons are introduced as Faith, as
the wife was aptly named, thrust her own pretty head into the street, letting the wind play with the
pink ribbons on her cap while she called to Goodman Brown (Hawthorne 1). The author uses the
symbolism of Goodman Brown s wife alongside the symbolism of the innocence of the pink
ribbons to show Faith as a woman of good and pure intentions. Hawthorne continues to mention
the pink ribbons in the story to allude to the meaning of innocence to the reader at the beginning
of the story. Hawthorne states Faith, with the pink ribbons (Hawthorne 1). The author also states
he looked back and saw the head of Faith still peeping after him with a melancholy air, in spite of
her pink ribbons (Hawthorne 1). Nathaniel Hawthorne implements the use of repetition to guide the
reader to grasp the use of symbolism. Following this further, near the end of the story Hawthorne
reestablishes the pink ribbons just as the nefarious ceremony in the forest is taking place to help
elude the reader to interpret the use of symbolism in the story. Hawthorne describes There was a
scream, drowned immediately in a louder murmur of voices, fading into far off laughter, as the dark
cloud swept away, leaving the clear and silent sky above Goodman Brown. But something fluttered
lightly down through the air and caught on the branch of a tree. The young man seized it, and
beheld a pink ribbon (Hawthorne 5). Goodman Brown believes that Faith is with the heinous people
as their ceremony is about to start. As Goodman Brown introduces himself with the sinister
ceremony, his innocence and purity succumbs to the villainous thoughts and actions of the patrons

The Honor Tug Of War
The Honor Tug of War In The First Part of King Henry IV, Shakespeare integrates the concept of
honor throughout the whole play. Honor is often thought of as a symbol that signifies approval or
distinction, but it is how one embodies this honor that varies in the play. Certain characters are so
fixated with honor that they forget about the other aspects of their life, in direct contrast other
characters have no belief in honor and only care about self preservation. Shakespeare uses
characters like this to illustrate how the positive traits can be contained in one man who embodies
the truest form of honor, this being Prince Hal. By comparing Hotspur and Falstaff s opposing
views of honor, Shakespeare exposes that the Prince has the beneficial traits of the two, therefore
making him the symbol of rational and noble honor. The balladA lamentable Ditty composed upon
the Death of Robert Lord Devereux, late Earle of Essex, who was be headed in the Tower of
London, on Ashwenesday in the morning, 1600.To the tune of Welladay illustrates how honor
was viewed in the Renaissance through the story telling of a recently passed on Lord. The fourth
stanza of the ballad explains how Robert Lord Devereux achieved his honor on the battlefield by
stating All men that is and was, / evermore still: / One day as it was soone, / in honourof our
Queene, / Such deeds hath nere bin seene, / as he did doe. (Pepys 27 32). This quote demonstrates
that Devereux completed tasks on the battlefield

Or is it our minds simply letting us see what we want to believe? Old Apple type footage from

Safety Gears In American Football
Have you ever thrown a pigskin before? Well I have. It is important to stay safe playing the best
sport, football. Clearly American football is safe because the players wear safety gear, learn to
tackle properly, and stretch before and after a playing period. The first reason is safety gear
makes football more safe because of the following. The helmet goes on a player s head they are
made up of polycarbonate shells. That is safe because the helmets have big pads inside the shell
to support the head on contact. The the next reason that safety gear is safe is the shoulder pads.
The shoulder pads help because they make the player lower their shoulder so they don t get hurt
/injured. The pads go on the shoulders and chest of a player. The shoulder pads protect the
player from fractured bones in the upper body area. A neck roll will go on a player s shoulder
pads and around their neck. It helps the neck and head because when the player gets hit in the
head the neck roll will stop their helmet from bending backwards. Another reason that makes
football safe is PROPER tackling. First the player will have to slow down and chop their feet to
mimic the ball carrier. This will help them tackle the runner. The defensive... Show more content on

Cinematic Techniques In Mystic River
The film Mystic River uses many concepts in it to get its story across. The use of lighting was
crucial in order to accurately set the mood of the movie. The sound also was important to clue the
viewer in to what was happening and what was about to happen. The constant cuts and flashbacks
made it obvious that Dave s traumatizing past still affects every action and day of his current life.
The lighting in Mystic River plays a big role in setting the mood of the movie. The movie starts off
quite dull and brown in color, but after Dave was taken away by the pedophiles the movie got
even darker and continued to stay brown and depressing until Dave died. The movie had a lot of
low key lighting throughout it, which really helped to build up the suspense. The low key lighting
was mostly around Dave and Jimmy, both were people who had something to hide. Sean was the
only mentally sane one. The cinematographer showed his sanity by making him ... Show more

It can really make or break a scene. Sounds and music can add tense, suspense and can set the
mood for a scene. The scene where Dave is escaping uses sounds to set the frantic mood. It
sounds as if monsters and wolves are chasing him; while it was only men chasing him Dave
remembers them as actual monsters. He refers to them as vampires and wolves throughout the
movie. At the Christening you hear typical church music in the background, but Jimmy couldn t
help but be worried about his daughter that didn t return home last night. You re able to tell
something is wrong when you hear the police sirens in the background and he turns around with a
stern expression on his face. If it had just been the church music in the background him turning

Importance Of Scarcity In Healthcare
important information to consider as well. Scarcity is a central principle in economics that is
important when analyzing healthcare because many resources are scarce. Also, it is important to
address what market failure has led to a need for a solution to healthcare. Lastly, in economics,
decisions are made by comparing the costs to the benefits which is necessary to determine if a
universal healthcare system or a free market system is better in the United States. To fully analyze
the economic standpoint of healthcare, the concept of scarcity is necessary to understand. A
resource is scarce when there is a limited amount of it, and it is not able to satisfy everyone s needs

Resources are allocated by physicians, hospitals, and specialists in this system. The demand for
healthcare will be the greatest when it is free for Americans, which will lead to an
overconsumption of resources and reduction in supply ( Healthcare as a merit good ). This will
cause longer wait times because of the limited number of physicians, and it will cause a shortage
of resources, such as hospital beds. However, expense costs for consumers will be less because
they will not have to pay for insurance directly. On the other hand, having a free market system
could cause a disproportionality in equity for consumers because of the price. Though, a free
market healthcare system will allow insurance companies and other private businesses to compete,
which will help benefit the economy in the long run. The U.S. government created the ACA to
subsidize costs for consumers because the price of healthcare insurance was originally high, but it

Contribution And Influence Of Voltaire

Voltaire s goal was to get people to acknowledge and overcome the belief that God is all

During the enlightenment era, many people were opposed to being different, to standing out.
Voltaire, on the other hand did not care. His main focus was the people, and making known the

Harriet Tubman s Role In The Underground Railroad
The Underground Railroad was a system of individuals who helped escaped slaves to obtain their
freedom in the northern part of the states, even as far as Canada. The Underground Railroad was
the first American civil rights movement (Snodgrass) which managed to operate secretly for more
than fifty years. While there was no actual railroad underground, there was an organized network of
secret routes and houses to help refugee slaves to their freedom.
The Underground Railroad coined this term from similarities as to those of an actual railroad
system. Just as a train has a conductor, the same goes for the Underground Railroad. These
conductors were individuals who helped the runaway slaves obtain their freedom by different
routes of escape. In addition to conductors, there were safe houses ... Show more content on

Harriet Tubman, an escaped slave herself, was known for her role in the rescuing of hundreds of
slaves who were on the run. In the decade before the American Civil War, Tubman guided to
freedom about 300 slaves without ever losing a slave through capture. (Thackeray 82) Harriet
Tubman was so devoted to destroying the slave system which encompassed her family and friends
lives, she eventually ended up helping in the Civil War. In order to help in the Union army, Harriet
Tubman alternated roles as nurse and scout, cook and spy (Larson 18).
The enactment of the Fugitive Slave Law, which was part of the Compromise of 1850, was due
to the success of the Underground Railroad. Hundreds of slaves were escaping each year

Family Law Research Paper
Family law is an area of law that is very interesting to me. Many people are unaware of exactly
what family law is and what it deals with. Most believe that family law is marriage, divorce, child

family law is so much more than that. Below I will discuss my reasons for choosing family law,

The constant process of change or adaptation, as Laroche says above, forces life to progress. This
is seen incessantly as a symbol in Charlie Kaufman s screenplay Adaptation as he masterfully

Biochemical Causes Of Depression Research Paper
There is no single cause for depression. Depression can be caused by one or more factors. Some
people are more likely to have depression than others. There are different reasons that attempt to
explain this predisposition: Inheritance: There is an increased risk of clinical depression when
there is a family history of the disease, indicating they may have inherited a biological
predisposition. This risk is somewhat higher for people with bipolar disorder. However, not all
people who have a family history will have the disease. In addition, severe depression can also
occur in people who have no family history of the disease. This suggests that there are additional
factors that can cause depression, whether biochemical or environmental stressors, and other

Analysis Of Editha By William Dean Howells And The Yellow...
Realism is the art of exposing the hardcore truth in a form of literature while keeping it creative
in its fashion. Realism, in itself is a type of literature I am the fondest of because although the
truth hurts sometimes, it will always be better than a sweet lie. Most of the literary realism I have
experienced has worked hand in hand with romantics as it exposes the truth behind marriages in
the 18th and 19th centuries. Two stories I have read that stood out the most to me on the grounds
of literary realism are: Editha by William Dean Howellsand The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte
Perkins Gilman.
Editha by William Dean Howells, will go down as one of many strong points of evidence when it
comes down to literary realism. This comes into ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Marriage was a major key as well because it showed how marriage was set up and how women
were domesticated and voices were silent. That was a real eye opener because woman didn t have
any rights and was basically to stay silent and do what they are told by their spouse.
In essence, literary realism is put in place to give its readers a real place of how life was or how
something occurs in the pass. The two stories that gave me a good depiction of what realism is
are: Editha by William Dean Howells, and The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. The
two stories put things in perspective when it comes to life in the nineteenth century and the
problems that came along with it. Which are so unfortunate in some cases but it gives us the
readers the raw truth.
There is a thing that occurs in stories that give you a since of humor while still giving you an
ultimate message. Mark Twain has become the connoisseur of this term and uses it in a very
unique way to show his readers that there can always be humor in your writing even when you
think it s impossible. The term is satire which in my own words mean putting humor and

Protein Binder for Affinity Purification of Human Immunoglobulin Antibodies
Background
Antibodies are used for many different purposes. According to
WORLDPHARMACEUTICALFRONTIERS, 2014 saw $75 billion dollars spent on monoclonal
antibodies which is more than half of the biopharmaceutical market 1. For this reason, novel
methods of protein purification are needed to address the growing demand for antibodies. In this
paper, the research group provides a novel method of purifying human immunoglobulin protein
(IgG) by the use of a repebody .
According to their previous research, a repebody is nonantibody protein structure containing
consensus designed leucine rich repeat modules.2 This particular protein was recently discovered in

Protein A is thermostable, and is not destroyed by trypsin4; however, Protein A is most useful
for its stability in regard to pH. It s polypeptide structure is so stable that it has continuous
stability both at very acidic pH (0.99) and at a very basic pH (11.8) 3,4. For this reason, it useful
across many pH levels that would be useful in a protein affinity assay because this particular assay
requires changing the pH to determine what would be the best to elute the protein that is being
selected for; however, for an affinity assay involving human immunoglobulin, protein A is used for
an additional reason. Protein A is from a bacteria and human immunoglobulin is associated with the
immune system of the humans, as the name implies. Protein A contains five locations that it can
bind to IgG5. These five domains, often labeled regions A E, each consist of 58 62 amino acid
residues, and a C terminal consists of 150 amino acid residues. The IgG binding domains (A E)
each consist of three anti parallel О± helices which are stabilized by hydrophobic regions between
them. These domains bind with the Fc region of the immunoglobulin and form a complex with the
Fc region. When this binding occurs a conformational change occurs which is reinforced by polar,
and hydrophobic interactions4. This binding pattern is the basis for its use in protein affinity assay
that involve eluting IgG out of solution that contain other human immunoglobulins. As the other

The Birdcage Essay
In analyzing the style of Emmanuel Lubezki I found that his techniques adapts to the style/needs of
the director and the movie he works on. In the movie The Birdcage, he uses a long lens glamour
style whereas, in Children of Men he takes on his famous natural lighting style with a handheld
camera. What s unique about these two styles is that he manages to show that the subjects/actors
are the main focus and they standout and look amazing whether natural or artificial, he produces
natural looking shots. Lubezki also uses techniques in camera to create the best shoot without green
screens although, when used, the lightingholdes the image together and creates believable moments.
Lubezki has two predominant styles of lighting the actors faces. One is called short lite, which is
when the shadow side of the subject s faces the camera (three fourths lighting style) and the other
style of lighting cuts right down the middle of the actors faces. We see this in A Series of

Descriptive Essay About Dreams
I felt the gentle warmth of the sunlight touch my face. The soft grass swayed in the cool air,
tickling my nose. The forest air was rich and I inhaled it as I opened my eyes a bit, being met
with the breathtaking forest around me. Sunlight was passing through small gaps in the jaded
tree line, making them a lighter shade of green. It was so quiet, with only the subtle breeze
brushing against the giant trees making noise. I let out a small breath of awe, forgetting almost
completely about the dream. Almost. I ll never get used to this. A high voice spoke from behind
me. I jumped a little in surprise before settling back down, thinking it was the stranger from my
dream, but remembering who really was there. Strange that after all these months of solitary
within the forest with her, I would still jump at the sound of any voice beside that of my own. I
turned my head to face the human girl behind me, sitting on a large rock covered in green moss.
She was staring at the flowers that bloomed when the sunlight touched them with mesmerizing
brown eyes. Yeah, I don t think anyone can get used to this, I responded, turning back and
closing my eyes, letting the sunlight touch my skin again. It was quiet again, except now the
birds began to chirp. We sat there for a while, letting it all sink it. Too bad we will have to go
back today. She said. I sighed and turned back around, eyeing her. She caught my stare and
returned it. There they were. The words I ve been dreading for all

Describe the subject s method of killing the victims (MO).
Rader bound, tortured and killed his victims, representing the name BTK that he chose for himself.
The most commonly used method to kill his victims was strangulation, although some were
suffocated or hung. Rader would often strangle his victims just to the point where they would pass
out, allowing them to regain consciousness many times before he would finally kill them. Rader
would become sexually aroused at this process and would masturbate onto the bodies once
deceased. Taking souvenirs was also part of Rader s modus operandi. Rader would steal panties
from his victims and later wear them himself (Blanco, n.d.).
15. Did the subject have a signature? If so, what was it?
Rader was known for sending taunting letters to police and newspapers. In his letters he would
describe his killings in great detail. In his second letter, Rader demanded media attention. It was
after this letter that it was finally announced that Wichita had a serial killer on the loose (Dennis
Rader, 2017).

Regional Hometown Race
NASCAR s newest events, Regional Hometown Races (RHR) have taken the large scale
NASCAR branding strategy and localized it through regional races and rivalries. These racing
events are sponsored by NASCAR and backed by the promotional strength of the brand name
sponsors. These Regional Hometown Races would regionalize the television broadcasts, begin co
branding with localized small businesses, and differentiate racing venues depending on the region.
Television broadcasts are fought over and highly respected in any community. National networks
broadcast the most major sporting events while the localized broadcasts may show the local minor
league teams, county fairs, and contests. Now, with Regional Hometown Races sponsored by
NASCAR, the regional broadcasts can take advantage of the co branding techniques of NASCAR to
practically promote themselves on the local station. The attraction of races on television paired with
the realization that the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dirt tracks litter the south and large race track venues sit idle when NASCAR is not in town.
Races in the RHR can be held on all tracks available in the region from the dirt tracks, to road
courses, to large venues. The differentiation of track length and styles help the circuit to
determine the best overall race teams, creating a line up of all star RHR racers. These racers can
compete in a cross regional series of racers to determine a grand champion for all Regions
combined in the NASCAR RHR series. Overall, the inclusion of regional broadcasts would
promote NASCAR as a friendly company in all regions, including those without a huge
NASCAR presence. The addition of small business promotion and co branding in expanded
regional markets is advantageous for all participants. By including all types of race tracks and
regional cross over extending the RHR series, new talented drivers and teams can have a chance to

Teacher and National Development
LITERATURE REVIEW
It is a known fact today that, there is fall, degradation, lost of value in the nation. There is increase
in level of immorality, crime, self centeredness e.t.c which slows down the pace of national
development.
Many people attributed this to our system of education as people say No nation can grow above
the level of her education . This is to bring to light the significant of the correlation between the
three key concepts Education Teacher and National Development .
EDUCATION
Education in its broadest, general sense is the means through which the aims and habits of a group
of people lives on from one generation to the next. Generally, it occurs through any experience that

The division between primary and secondary education is somewhat arbitrary, but it generally
occurs at about eleven or twelve years of age. Some education systems have separate middle
schools, with the transition to the final stage of secondary education taking place at around the age
of fourteen. Schools that provide primary education, are mostly referred to as primary schools.
Primary schools in these countries are often subdivided into infant schools and junior school.
Secondary school
In most contemporary educational systems of the world, secondary education comprises the formal
education that occurs during adolescence. It is characterized by transition from the typically
compulsory, comprehensive primary education for minors, to the optional, selective tertiary, post
secondary , or higher education (e.g. university, vocational school) for adults. Depending on the
system, schools for this period, or a part of it, may be called secondary or high schools,
gymnasiums, lyceums, middle schools, colleges, or vocational schools. The exact meaning of any
of these terms varies from one system to another. The exact boundary between primary and
secondary education also varies from country to country and even within them, but is generally
around the seventh to the tenth year of schooling. Secondary education

Pisaster Ochraceus Essay
Sea stars along much of the North American Pacific coast are dying in great numbers from a
mysterious wasting syndrome. Similar die offs have occurred before in the 1970s, 80s, and the
90s, but never before at this magnitude and over such a wide geographic area. Pisaster ochraceus
and many other species of sea stars have been affected by the current sea star wastingsyndrome
event. The following paper by Hewson et al. Densovirus associated with sea star wasting disease
and mass mortality provides evidence for a link between a densovirus (SSaDV) and sea star
wasting syndrome (SSWS) but there is still much work to be done before this mysterious disease is
fully understood.

In subtidal habitats, the sunflower star is typically the first species to succumb, followed by the

vermilion star (Mediaster aequalis), six armed stars, and bat star (Patiria miniata).
We don t know whether the syndrome spreads sequentially from one species to the next, or if
some species simply take longer to express symptoms, but the usually large populations of ochre
and sunflower stars have experienced massive, geographically expansive (if patchy) and well
documented declines. Other species are less abundant, so the impact of the syndrome is not as

Growth Mindset Research Paper
Brainology
Fixed mindset, growth mindset, praise effort and praise for intelligence with impact and my
experience about them with specific examples
Mindsets are beliefs which people hold on their most basic abilities and qualities. In the growth
mindset, individuals believe that they can develop their talents, brain, and skills. This creates an
environment for learning, resilience and a drive for growth. On the other hand, people believe in a
fixed mindset that primary qualities like abilities and intelligence are fixed and cannot be
developed. It also believes that talents create success alone, and it does not take effort as the
strategy needed to maximize one s potential rather than a sign of weakness. For example,

Teaching individuals to develop growth mindset will encourage the process and not on talent or
intelligence. Teachers and parents can make children develop growth mindset by praising their
strategies and persistence, by giving them stories that emphasize on effort and the Importance of
learning, and teaching the students that a brain is a learning tool or machine (Gupta, et al., 2012).
The society is currently worshipping talent and individuals assume that having the ability or
superior intelligence with confidence is one way of succeeding. Overemphasis on talent or
intelligence leaves students prone to failure, afraid of challenges and they are not ready to accept
their shortcomings (Taylor, et al., 2014). Praising innate abilities of children, reinforce fixed
mindset, which can prevent people in workforces or young athletics and even the married people
to live up to their potential. By teaching students to have the growth mindset encourages them to
use their personal effort and come up with effective strategies and not talent or intelligence which
will help them to achieve highly in life and even in school. As theories suggest, students who have
growth mindset believes that learning is the crucial goal than performing well in school with good
grades. Hard work is highly regarded, believing that if you labor on something, it will lead to
perfection. Even the geniuses have to put

Hyperthermia And Hypothermia Research Paper
Summary 2:
Hyperthermia and Hypothermia
If your body gains heat at a faster rate than it can lose heat you will get hyperthermia. Fever;
anaesthesia; hot conditions and hard exercise can cause this to happen.
The body has systems to control its temperature at normal levels which react in hot conditions but
in prolonged hot humid conditions you can get heat exhaustion. The systems are unable to control
normal levels and heavy sweating will cause dehydration; low blood pressure; low blood volume
and an increase in heart rate. People with heat exhaustion usually feel cool to the touch because of
all the sweating. They will also feel weak; dizzy and sick. Moving to a cooler place; resting
muscles and drinking fluids will help this condition.

The Tourism Industry In The Hospitality Industry
According to the World Bank, the hospitality industry revenue has been the largest contribution to
the world GDP, for the sixth consecutive year, outdoing a total of 10.2% (US$7.6 Trillion) in the
year 2016. The hospitality industry currently employs around 292 million of people, and that
means that 1 in 10 jobs around the globe is linked to the hospitality industry (Oxford Economics for
World Travel Tourism
Council, 2017)
A good example of this is the Popular Republic of China, located in the Asia. According to the
World Bank, it s the most populated country in the world, leading the global rank with 1.3 Billion
of people (World Bank, 2016). With 7 billion people around the globe, China represents 20% of the
world s population.
However, how can this information relate to industry? China s domestic tourism industry has
earned about 3.9 trillion of yuans in 2016. That s approximately 563.6 billion of US dollars,
representing more than 10% of China overall GDP. It also has developed 10.2% of the entire
employment of the country (China National Tourism Administration, 2016).
Nevertheless, the inbound tourism has decreased since 2007 due to problems such as currency
fluctuation which makes tourists considerate other locations, corruption, bad government
reputation, the lack of novelty and competitiveness and the polluted environment. These are some
of the problems that inbound tourism has been facing for the past ten years. The Chinese
government has been working on the

  • 2. Difference Between Chipotle And Bread When I was a kid I did not enjoy eating and was very particular about that foods I consumed. My mother would always try to trick me into eating by bribing me or telling me that the food would give me powers. I also did not enjoy going to restaurants because I found it boring and since I was not looking forward to the foodit was not a pleasant trip. But now I enjoy eatingand going to restaurants, in fact, I eat more at restaurants than I do at home. Two of my favorite restaurants are Chipotle and Bread Zeppelin Salads Elevated and they have some similarities but also differences. Two similarities between Chipotle and Bread Zeppelin Salads Elevated are food presentation and line service; two differences are the menu and price. The first similarity between Chipotle and Bread Zeppelin Salads Elevated is the food presentation. Chipotle is known for their savory burrito, a tortillafilled with your choice of rice, beans, meat and any extra toppings such as lettuce, cheese, sour cream, all wrapped around in the flour tortilla. After the burrito is wrapped, they hand it to you wrapped around tin foil to keep it warm and fresh. Bread Zeppelin Salads Elevated offers the customer the same choices as chipotle of picking the ingredients and after the ingredients have been chosen, a worker will take all the ingredients and lay them on a cutting board to chop them into small pieces. After the worker is done chopping, he or she will take a french baguette and hollow it out by taking off ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Recycling At The United Kingdom Recycling is a process that continues to develop and become more popular within waste management. As there is a wide amount of literature relating to this topic the following review will focus in on aspects such as recycling behaviours and recycling in the curriculum. Recycling in the United Kingdom Recycling is the method by which waste is collected and processed into raw materials, which in turn are processed into new products (Prestin and Pearce, 2010). This helps the UK comply with the EC Landfill Directive targets that state to reduce the quantity of municipal waste going to landfill sites (Kurz et al, 2007). The primary goal of recycling schemes is to increase the amount of material that is collected and recycled, meaning that less waste is going to disposal (Lane and Wagner, 2013). Woodard et al (2004) stated that the percentage of households in the United Kingdom involved in recycling needed to continue to increase to reach the national target of recycling household waste, therefore local authorities got involved in incentives, which is discussed later in the review. (Woodard et al, 2004). A main concern in modern society is the current state of the environment; it is a topic that is frequently examined in research. It has been found that people want to act in a way to enhance sustainability in the environment and recycling is a fairly simple behaviour which has a major impact on this. Recycling is also economically feasible whilst having great impacts on the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Beat Countercultural Movement Essay To say that the Beat generation has affected modern culture seems at first to be no great revelation; it is inevitable that any period of history will affect the time that follows. The Beat generation is especially significant, though, because of its long lasting impact on American culture. Many aspects of modern American culture can be directly attributed to the Beat writers, primarily Allen Ginsburg, William Burroughs, Neal Cassady, and Jack Kerouac. (Asher) Their influence has changed the American perception of obscenity, has had profound effects on American music and literature, and has modified the public s views on such topics as sex and drug use. The label Beat Generationwas first publicized in a 1952 New York Times Magazine... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many lines in Howl would have been considered obscene by the standards of his time, especially, who let themselves be fucked in the ass by saintly motorcyclists, and screamed with joy. (Howl) Prior to 1957, obscenity was legally defined as anything that has a substantial tendency to deprave or corrupt its readers by inciting lascivious thoughts or arousing lustful desires. (Obscenity) Since much of Howl is concerned with illicit drug use and sexual deviancy, it clearly meets these requirements. Now, however, no second thought is given to works such as Howl. Our culture has changed so drastically that not only has what was once considered obscene become accepted, but it has been raised to the status of literature. The Beatniks, as they eventually came to be known, also had a strong influence on music and literature. The artists of the then emerging musical style of rock and roll, such figures as the Beatles and Bob Dylan, were affected by the movement. In fact, Beatles was spelled with an a because of Kerouac s influence on John Lennon. Paul McCartney played guitar for one of Ginsberg s albums. Bob Dylan toured with Ginsberg, and considered Ginsberg and Kerouac both to be major influences. Many of the themes of rock and roll ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Four Dimensions Of Qualitative Research The following paper will discuss the qualitative research, while describing its dimensions, basic concepts, methods and differences. First, it will portray the four dimensions of the qualitative research: positivism, postpositivism, constructivism and objectivism, which are divided into epistemological and ontological. Secondly, it will describe the definition and basic concepts of the qualitative research; and thirdly, it will represent the five methods possible while conducting a qualitative research: phenomenology, ethnography, action research, grounded theory, and case study. It will elaborate each method s definition, distinctive features and data collection methods. In the end, it will present the differences between all above mentioned research methods. I. Dimensions I.1. Epistemological positions Positivism is an epistemological position that supports the implementation of the methods of the natural sciences to the study of social reality. According to Johnson and Duberley (2000) it is an approach to research that attempts to match as closely as possible to that in the natural sciences, by: a) relying on observations of the empirical world. b) Avoiding the use of subjective or metaphysical speculation. c) Attempting to be objective,... • 6. The Importance Of Poverty In Literature The way things are written can have an effect on the audience drawn in. Most people are used to generalized, every day vocabulary, as opposed to more complex and intricate words and grammar. When reading an article, the easier the words are to interpret, the easier the article is to read. However, this is not always the case. Sometimes, papers are going to be written using more advanced vocabulary. They may even include data in the form of charts and tables. This is when it gets harder for a general audience to read and interpret. It may be more accurate and scientific, but is it too complex for people the comprehend? For example, there is a controversial topic of poverty on the rise. Some people believe it is due to how one grows up, others believe it is the lack of compensation, and some even believe it all deals with race. The two articles, What Do We Think Poverty Looks Like? , written by Tracie McMillan, and, Poverty, Race, and the Contexts of Achievement: Examining Education Experiences of Children in the U.S. South , written by Maryah Stela Fram, Julie E. Miller Cribbs, and Lee Van Horn, reveal thoughts on what contributes to poverty. The difference is, these two articles are using two very different genres. The scholarly article, written by Maryah Stella Fram, Julie E. Miller Cribbs, and Lee Van Horn focuses on poverty and what social workers can do to minimize the effects. The writers of this article chose to focus on an expert audience that have deep knowledge ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Understanding The Value Of Health Economics Understanding the value of health economics is very important during this rapidly changing environment. Health economics is the study of how transactions or connections between health and the resources needed are made and of the bottom line results (Getzen, 2013). Resources include money but also people, materials and time that could have been used in other ways. Our healthcare needs may be unlimited but the resources we have to satisfy them are not. We must make careful choices about which needs are most important and how to manage limited resources. Decision makers take the information given to make choices about what new and existing medicines and technologic advances will be used. Vaccines for example and other new technologies can be very costly. Therefore, we must measure whether or not the benefits outweigh the costs (Teitelbaum Wilensky, 2013). Health is important to us as individuals. As stated in Getzen (2013), health is so precious that its value exceeds that of all the things we possess. Healthcare is one way of preventing and treating illness and disease. Our country must make good decisions now for our future health. We need to carefully evaluate and implement modern and emerging health technologies and advances (Getzen, 2013). Americans needs to look at health care policy and understand what works and what does not work. Health care policy and government involvement benefits society in many ways including improved access to care, improved quality of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Resistance To Fight The Resistance Of The Holocaust The word Holocaust evokes an undeniably bitter, terrifying and inhumane memory of the world s history which should never happen again. The Holocaust occurred during WW2, between 1939 and 1945, and was introduced and organized by Adolf Hitler, the German leader of the Nazi Party at that time. It is remembered as the killing of about six million Jewsin Europe. While the Nazis were in power, Jews were hated and believed to jeopardize the purity of Germany, so they persecuted them and passed many anti Jewish laws. For example, Jews were obliged to wear a star of David either on an armband or a badge so they could be identified. Then, they were arrested by the thousands, forced to live in ghettos, and later brought to concentration camps. Some were labor camps, in which many Jews died due to starvation, forced hard labor or diseases. However, by the early 1940 s there were new death camps that had gas chambers to help get rid of them, like in Auschwitz. However, it is important to note that not all Jews stayed put accepting their destiny. Many brave and determined Jews undertook some form of resistance to fight the injustices of the Nazis. An example is Hannah Senesh, a Jewish fighter who trained as a paratrooper so she could volunteer for an organized secret mission to rescue Jews in Hungarywho were expected to be transferred to death camps in Auschwitz. • 9. 2016 Lxus Rx Essay The design for the 2016 Lexus RX is certainly provocative, but it isn t really surprising. After all, when Lexus slotted the all new for 2015 NX beneath it, the smaller and deeply chiseled crossover strongly suggested that its larger and segment leading RX kin would get a similar makeover. Even so, the changes to the RX (350 gasoline model; 450h hybrid) are nothing less than dramatic. This model, known originally in 1998 as the RX 300, then as the RX 330 in 2004 before assuming its present RX 350 mantle in 2007, will have you sit up and take notice. Bible And The Lord s Prayer I got very annoyed and was very disturbed when Moore discussed the ordination of women in the Catholic Church; as well as the discussion about changing the words of the Bible and the Lord s Prayer. First, Moore discusses feminist liberal movements changing the wording of the Bible: Proffered gender neutral language, substituting brothers and sisters for brothers, interpreting the pronoun He as the proper noun God, and using Our Parent instead of Our Father in the Lord s Prayer (Moore 143). • 14. Roman Culture And Western Civilization As the Romans held on to Greek culture so eagerly it quickly became the foundation of Roman culture. Roman forms of architecture evolved mostly from reshaping Greek models, but clearly stands apart from its ancestors. The Romans were quick to adopt new techniques in construction; new use of materials, and new architectural structures. The Romans made innovations to fully fulfill the practical needs for the society as a whole. Among these architectural changes basilicas, temples, amphitheaters, bridges and aqueducts, and residential blocks can be found engrained in Roman culture as it positively impacted the lives of Romans. These inventions were paid for, organized, and spread around by a state which fully supported the Roman Empire. The Romans influence in monumental architecture as well as many other aspects of Western life remains clearly visible today as it did back then. Western civilization presently compromises Western Europe and North America and are believed to have derived from the influence of cultures found in the Roman Empire. In this research essay, I will discuss and contrast Roman culture to Western Civilization as well as emphasizing on the influences provided by the Roman Empire that are still prominent today. Irony In The Most Dangerous Game Irony and imagery are both important writing tools, used to guide the reader through the story while keeping them engaged and thinking about the story complexly. When used together successfully, the reader can walk away with something to think about, a new perspective on something they might have thought different about before. When considering this, I would argue that The Most Dangerous Game, is overall a better story than The Necklace . In both stories, irony is used to to teach a lesson. In Richard Cowell s The Most Dangerous Game, he tells a story of a hunter who is put into the place of the hunted. At the beginning of the story the protagonist, Reinsford, boasts about the extravagant nature of hunting for sport. The best sport in the world, (Cowell, 1924, p. 54) is ... On the other hand, we have The Necklace, by Guy De Maupassant. Maupassant s use of irony is less relatable and more comedic. He does this very well, oh my poor Mathilde, but mine was only paste! • 19. Defining Love In Sir Thomas Wyatt And Samuel Daniels Sir Thomas Wyatt and Samuel Daniels have sonnets in which the speaker is attempting to define love. With one speaker stating his daily life and the other expressing the feeling through paradoxes, both ultimately end up with poems that are not conventionally good love poems. I allege that the reason they cannot effectively define loveis that they do not truly understand it because their own egos blind them from it. The scope of both sonnets is restricted to simply the speakers focus and they spend all fourteen lines saying things of little consequence. Rather than getting across the point that they are in love, they are showing their disillusionment in regards to what love is because they are so self centered and thus inadept at writing poetry. I aim to reveal that these sonnets reveal more about the speakers than about love through their choice of rhyme scheme, rhetorical devices, meter, and repetition. The speakers use different rhyme schemes. I find no peace is a Petrarchan sonnet and If this be love is a Shakespearean sonnet. While not actually flouting the conventional patterns, the speakers use diction that hardly allows the sonnets to be easily identified by their rhyme schemes. In the first and fourth lines of I find no peace, for example, the speaker seems to rhyme done with on (Wyatt ll. 1, 4). Instead of altering the word choice to better fit the Petrarchan rhyme scheme, the speaker writes in the only diction he can think of. Wyatt s speaker is so focused on himself and his paradoxical experience of love that he fails to create an effective sonnet. We see a similar disregard for the standard form by Daniel s speaker. The rhyme scheme of a Shakespearean sonnet is there, though not obviously with the speaker attempting to rhyme thoughts and notes in the last quatrain (Daniel ll. 9, 11). I believe the weakness in the overall rhyme scheme implies that the speaker is careless of tradition. This loose rhyming shows a lack of regard for the form the speaker is attempting to emulate, further emphasizing the possibility that his goal has not been to define love but to prove to others, and himself, that he is in love. Wyatt s speaker describes love primarily by using paradoxes. However, he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 20. Propose An On Demand Qos Routing Algorithm Essay The main objective of this paper is to propose an on demand QoS routing algorithm. Since the requirements for various applications may vary time to time, the approach for QoS routing may not be proactive. The proposed approach has two phases namely route discovery phase and route maintenance phase. When a source node has to pass data to a destination node with QoS requirements it starts with the route discovery phase. Once the route is found, the data transfer will take place. While data transmission is going on, it is also required to maintain the path to the destination. This is very much desirable and required in mobile ad hoc networks and hence is done in the route maintenance phase. Introduction In Mobile presence service is a vital component of a social network applications due to mobile user s presence details such as global positioning system location, network address, and online/offline status are continuously apprise to user s online buddies. A mobile ubiquity services is an important element of cloud computing environments, for the reason it keeps an up to date list of presence information of mobile user. If presence updates occur often the number of messages distributed by presence server may lead to scalability problem and buddy list search problem in large scale mobile presence services. Public Water Supply For Drinking And Agricultural Water Brazos River, the streams and lakes along the river are a major source of public water supply for drinking and agricultural uses for communities in around the Brazos River basin. Segment 1242 of Brazos River and the watersheds (Leon River watershed and Lower Brazos Little Brazos watershed) and their tributaries flowing into Brazos river in this segment are known to be impaired for bacteria, salts, nutrients and chlorophyll a (TCEQ, 2013). The flow of nutrients from rain water run off from land into Brazos River results in eutrophication of the river and algae (Chlorophyll a) bloom, thereby reducing the dissolved oxygen content in the water. This hypoxia in the water causes the death of fish and other living organisms in the river. This can... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 4.2Objectives The purpose of modeling the fate and transport of pollutants in surface water is for a better understanding of the relationship between pollutant loads during rainfall events and to be able to simulate and make predictions of future water quality conditions. By connecting stream flow rates model to pollutant loads, the relationship between pollutant transport and water quality can be determined. For this research, models of the fate and transport of the chloride and sulfate in Leon River was constructed. 4.3Conceptual Model The conceptual model for this research is a network model which models the rate of flow of pollutant through a connected network of points in surface water. The water quality monitoring stations represent such points and serve as containers. From analysis of the water quality monitoring measurements of pollutants at each chosen station, it is observed that the concentration levels of pollutants tend to be high where it has not rained for a long time compared to where it rained the previous day or few days ago. This then can be interpreted to mean that the concentration of pollutant in surface water is proportional to the amount of water in the surface water body. Drought condition will concentrate the pollutants, while on the other hand rain events help to dilute the pollutes because of increase of water and also contribute to the flow of the pollutant from one point to the other ... Because it excited an intensity that indicates a rare concentration of power and cultural dominance, the Court was primarily responsible for the popularity of the poets who emerged from it. Sir Thomas Wyatt, one of a multitude of the so called Court poets of this time period, not only changed the way his society saw poetry through his adaptations of the Petrarchan Sonnet, but also obscurely attempted to recreate the culture norm through his influence. Complaint poems were often aimed in the sixteenth century at correcting the problem of which the poem s speaker complains; in some of these poems the complaint merges with satire to urge correction of man s foolish and vicious behaviour. Wyatt s complaint poems show an attempt to change the laws of Courtly love and to employ the Renaissance philosophy of old freedoms regained, thereby classifying them as satirical. In addition to criticising Courtly love, Wyatt mocks the relationship of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn in his sonnet Whoso Lists to hunt. In the poem, Wyatt compares the fantasy of courtly love with hunters chasing after a hind. The hunters symbolise the courtiers while Anne Boleyn is the hunted hind. The poem contains the bloody imagery that can be associated with a hunt; the speaker does not Draw from the deer his wearied mind. As a result, many various authors use symbolism as a way to provide texture to their stories by hinting at a different or even second meaning to the story or piece they have written. Most authors will not disclose to the readers that they are using symbolism, so the readers have to infer whether or not the author provides it in the work. The story begins with the ribbons being in Faith s hair as the ribbons are introduced as Faith, as the wife was aptly named, thrust her own pretty head into the street, letting the wind play with the pink ribbons on her cap while she called to Goodman Brown (Hawthorne 1). The author uses the symbolism of Goodman Brown s wife alongside the symbolism of the innocence of the pink ribbons to show Faith as a woman of good and pure intentions. Hawthorne continues to mention the pink ribbons in the story to allude to the meaning of innocence to the reader at the beginning of the story. Hawthorne states Faith, with the pink ribbons (Hawthorne 1). The author also states he looked back and saw the head of Faith still peeping after him with a melancholy air, in spite of her pink ribbons (Hawthorne 1). Nathaniel Hawthorne implements the use of repetition to guide the reader to grasp the use of symbolism. Following this further, near the end of the story Hawthorne reestablishes the pink ribbons just as the nefarious ceremony in the forest is taking place to help elude the reader to interpret the use of symbolism in the story. Hawthorne describes There was a scream, drowned immediately in a louder murmur of voices, fading into far off laughter, as the dark cloud swept away, leaving the clear and silent sky above Goodman Brown. But something fluttered lightly down through the air and caught on the branch of a tree. The young man seized it, and beheld a pink ribbon (Hawthorne 5). • 29. The Honor Tug Of War The Honor Tug of War In The First Part of King Henry IV, Shakespeare integrates the concept of honor throughout the whole play. Honor is often thought of as a symbol that signifies approval or distinction, but it is how one embodies this honor that varies in the play. Certain characters are so fixated with honor that they forget about the other aspects of their life, in direct contrast other characters have no belief in honor and only care about self preservation. Shakespeare uses characters like this to illustrate how the positive traits can be contained in one man who embodies the truest form of honor, this being Prince Hal. By comparing Hotspur and Falstaff s opposing views of honor, Shakespeare exposes that the Prince has the beneficial traits of the two, therefore making him the symbol of rational and noble honor. The balladA lamentable Ditty composed upon the Death of Robert Lord Devereux, late Earle of Essex, who was be headed in the Tower of London, on Ashwenesday in the morning, 1600.To the tune of Welladay illustrates how honor was viewed in the Renaissance through the story telling of a recently passed on Lord. It means you figure out how to thrive in the world. People can t sometimes... John Laroche (Adaptation page 48) When one looks back on their past to understand their purpose they become forced to think about the choices, actions and events that led to their current standing. No one successful does this and thinks that they have been stuck in the same mundane life as when they made this or that decision. The constant process of change or adaptation, as Laroche says above, forces life to progress. This is seen incessantly as a symbol in Charlie Kaufman s screenplay Adaptation as he masterfully mutates the literature of The Orchid Thief. In analyzing Kaufman s intricate approach to this challenge the viewer is shown how life and writing are constantly evolving as conflict brings about challenges of adversity. Donald, a construct of Kaufman s to show a more extroverted side to his own introverted character, allows for Kaufman to pursue a sort of split personality within the story. Kaufman despises his brother until he realizes, like many writers, that he has plateaued in the writing of his story and goes to a seminar on screenwriting that Donald praises. Realizing that he needs the help of his brother, their relationship switches to a symbiotic relationship where they work together which leads to the eventual death of Donald by Laroche and Orlean. Following, the death of his brother Kaufman is forced to adapt to deal with the pain that comes and he becomes more balanced and less introverted. • 41. Biochemical Causes Of Depression Research Paper There is no single cause for depression. Depression can be caused by one or more factors. Some people are more likely to have depression than others. There are different reasons that attempt to explain this predisposition: Inheritance: There is an increased risk of clinical depression when there is a family history of the disease, indicating they may have inherited a biological predisposition. This risk is somewhat higher for people with bipolar disorder. However, not all people who have a family history will have the disease. In addition, severe depression can also occur in people who have no family history of the disease. This suggests that there are additional factors that can cause depression, whether biochemical or environmental stressors, and other psychosocial factors.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 42. Analysis Of Editha By William Dean Howells And The Yellow... Realism is the art of exposing the hardcore truth in a form of literature while keeping it creative in its fashion. Realism, in itself is a type of literature I am the fondest of because although the truth hurts sometimes, it will always be better than a sweet lie. Most of the literary realism I have experienced has worked hand in hand with romantics as it exposes the truth behind marriages in the 18th and 19th centuries. Two stories I have read that stood out the most to me on the grounds of literary realism are: Editha by William Dean Howellsand The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. Marriage was a major key as well because it showed how marriage was set up and how women were domesticated and voices were silent. That was a real eye opener because woman didn t have any rights and was basically to stay silent and do what they are told by their spouse. In essence, literary realism is put in place to give its readers a real place of how life was or how something occurs in the pass. The two stories that gave me a good depiction of what realism is are: Editha by William Dean Howells, and The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. The two stories put things in perspective when it comes to life in the nineteenth century and the problems that came along with it. Which are so unfortunate in some cases but it gives us the readers the raw truth. There is a thing that occurs in stories that give you a since of humor while still giving you an ultimate message. Mark Twain has become the connoisseur of this term and uses it in a very unique way to show his readers that there can always be humor in your writing even when you think it s impossible. For this reason, it useful across many pH levels that would be useful in a protein affinity assay because this particular assay requires changing the pH to determine what would be the best to elute the protein that is being selected for; however, for an affinity assay involving human immunoglobulin, protein A is used for an additional reason. Protein A is from a bacteria and human immunoglobulin is associated with the immune system of the humans, as the name implies. Protein A contains five locations that it can bind to IgG5. These five domains, often labeled regions A E, each consist of 58 62 amino acid residues, and a C terminal consists of 150 amino acid residues. The IgG binding domains (A E) each consist of three anti parallel О± helices which are stabilized by hydrophobic regions between them. These domains bind with the Fc region of the immunoglobulin and form a complex with the Fc region. When this binding occurs a conformational change occurs which is reinforced by polar, and hydrophobic interactions4. This binding pattern is the basis for its use in protein affinity assay that involve eluting IgG out of solution that contain other human immunoglobulins. As the other ... In the movie The Birdcage, he uses a long lens glamour style whereas, in Children of Men he takes on his famous natural lighting style with a handheld camera. The soft grass swayed in the cool air, tickling my nose. The forest air was rich and I inhaled it as I opened my eyes a bit, being met with the breathtaking forest around me. Sunlight was passing through small gaps in the jaded tree line, making them a lighter shade of green. It was so quiet, with only the subtle breeze brushing against the giant trees making noise.
