• Direct corrosive effect
Sub-acute eczema
• Mild oedema
• Mild erythema
• Few vesicles
• Papules
• Minimal ozone
• Crust
• Moistness beneath the
crust
• Itching
Chronic eczema
• Pigmentary change
• Thickness
• Increased skin
markings
• Papulations
• Severe itching
Eczema: Erythema, Edema, Papule, Vesicle,
Oozing, Excoriation, Fissuring, Lichenification
How to treat?
• Corticosteroid :- topical and systemic
• Steroid spearing agent:-
What about >10% BSA and >10% BSA rule deciding
topical/systemic in Eczema?
What is our observation?
• Topical is often inadequate- indurated lesions
• Recurs soon, if the treatment is sopped before
subsidence of induration
• Best way of maintenance is steroid
What about Emollients?
• If ichthyotic changes are present.
