  2. In this presentation we will look at eBay listing optimization, the resources required, along with the action plans, tips and additional consideration for eBay listing optimization.
  3. Introduction to eBay listing optimization eBay sellers are now using search engines to optimize their sales. eBay has a self contained search engine which is used to search within the pages. Skilled merchants create their own network within eBay and interlink all their products, pages along with links to external blogs or websites. Optimization on eBay requires the same optimization techniques as regular sites.
  4. Resources The main resource required in eBay listing optimization is time. You must spend a few hours everyday to optimize your listing. You may also hire a professional at a cost per hour Hiring an optimization consultant would be a good idea in case you have a model example ready to share with him/her.
  5. What you must know Search engine would look for three things. You must write fresh content. Writing the content using relevant keywords is important. You must avoid repetitive use of words and phrases as they can show up as spam. Adding links to your website or blogs will add on to the optimization.
  6. Tips and tactics for listing optimization Read about regular SEO techniques. This can shed some light on how professionals optimize their sites. Meta tags are 20-30 word descriptions of web pages. You should fill it with applicable keywords to help optimize the site. Signing up for programs like Google Product Search is a great way to combine the power of Google with eBay. This will really boost your site ranking and sales.
  7. Additional considerations Targeting higher ranking means higher traffic and higher sales. Also advertise your item on as many sites as possible like craigslist.
