This paper presents three new bridgeless single-phase AC-DC rectifier topologies based on the Cuk converter for power factor correction (PFC) applications, aimed at reducing conduction losses and improving efficiency. The proposed designs operate in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM), achieving nearly unity power factor and low total harmonic distortion while simplifying control circuitry. Experimental results on a 150W prototype indicate efficiency improvements of approximately 1.4% over conventional designs, with measured efficiency exceeding 93% and total harmonic distortion below 2%.
