The duodenum is divided into four parts, with each part having specific anterior, posterior, superior, and inferior relations within the abdomen. It has branches of the celiac artery and superior mesenteric artery for blood supply and drains into the portal vein. Lymphatic drainage is to the pancreaticoduodenal, pyloric, and superior mesenteric lymph nodes. The duodenum has relevance for conditions like pancreatitis due to its close anatomical relationship with other organs like the pancreas and blood vessels.
