Duodenal Recesses
They are 4 small pocketlike pouches of
peritoneum close to the duodenojejunal
junction.
They are superior ; inferior ; paraduodenal
( lateral to 4th part) and retroduodenal
recesses ( behind 4th part). The 3rd lies
behind a vascular fold containing inferior
mesenteric vein and the ascending branch of
the left colic artery in its free margin.
