This document summarizes the drafting process of a student film project. It went through 10 drafts based on feedback received. Early drafts focused on a single point of view but audience feedback suggested showing more camera angles. Later drafts worked to improve scary elements, film in darker settings, add characters and a storyline, and finalize the ending. The final draft received positive feedback but could have benefited from better sound quality.

2. Draft 1
• Our piece was initially from Jacobs point of view, we wanted to do
this as our main inspiration was the ‘blare witch project’. We though
it would be a lot more scary and more effective.
• However we soon discovered that this was particularly difficult to get
shots from just one point of view when we wanted to show more.
• The audience feedback which we received from the first small clip
that we had told us that they thought it would be difficult for us to
show our editing and that it was not interesting with it being from
only one point of view and not using various different camera
angles.
• Based on this feedback we decided to change the storyline so that
there was only two characters and that Jacob is now the camera
man.

3. Draft 2
• This piece is a very short clip of the two main characters heading off to the
party in the fields but filming has not been done where they have reached
the fields yet.
• We decided that we need to make it longer and finish the ending where the
two main characters die.
• We changed the storyline and the characters from looking at our previous
feedback we received and what we thought we needed to change as a
group.
• This time the audience that we showed told us that they thought the filming
had no scary element as there were no dark scenes as of yet.
• Based on this feedback we decided that the rest would need to be filmed at
night time to make it more scary and more effective as a horror genre.
• After filming this draft the camera broke and so we had to invest in a new
one and also therefor all footage previously filmed had been lost.

4. Draft 3
• In this piece we started from scratch as previously mentioned the
camera had broke. So in this clip the two main characters were on
the way to the party however whilst filming it got too dark and so
unfortunately we had to stop.
• As a group we decided that the clip needed to be made a lot longer
and time needed to be spent on the ending.
• We changed the camera and therefore the filming and also filmed
the alley way on the way to the party and this was particularly tricky
due to the darkness.
• After seeing this the audience decided that it was much better than
the previous draft however quite obviously we still needed to do the
ending.
• So based on the audiences opinion and from our own knowledge we
knew we needed to complete the ending.

5. Draft 4-6
• During these pieces we got a lot more done and it felt as though we
were finally getting somewhere. In this clip the two main characters
are on there way to the party they go through the alley way, the
female character then receives a phone call which splits up the
group and we now meet the killer.
• As a group we knew we still needed to put in an ending to that the
film was finalised.
• So we had added in the scenes up to and including the fields which
meant we could now get the very last piece done.
• Our feedback which we received told us that the ending was scary
enough but the last clip wasn’t clear and needed to be re-filmed.
• Based on this we decided that we needed to lose the last clip and
replace it so that it was visible and understanding.
• We also wanted to add in the titles.

6. Draft 7-10
• In these drafts we could see the two main characters on the way to
the party then walking down the alleyway and then getting separated
when the phone call is received, we then see the killer and the titles.
• We decided we needed to change the ending and add the titles. So
now the ending now has a cliff hanger and ends on the titles.
• Our feedback showed us that the light difference between the start
and end was too substantial however the audience liked the cliff
hanger.
• So based on this information we received we have decided to add in
a short clip where you can clearly see the sky going from light to
dark gradually.
• We also decided that the titles would go better at the beginning.

7. Final draft
• As in the previous draft we can see the two main characters walking
towards the party in the remote fields then getting split apart after
the female character receives a phone call, they then come face to
face with the killer and die.
• We thought that we needed to add the missing clip so that the light
difference was not so significant.
• After putting in the missing clip and titles at the start we showed our
clip in a presentation evening to friends and family and the feedback
we received was that it was very good and full of suspense however
the sound quality was not too good and at times it was difficult to
follow.
• As this was our final presentation we couldn’t do much about the
sound as it was to do with the quality of the camera not the editing.
