Entry 1
• I started research into different subjects that I
would like to do for the print task and I had
created a mind map of different ideas that I
would do.
• I decided to do a print article because I prefer
creating work in that media format. I still
haven’t chosen a final idea.
Entry 2
• I did more research into the subject of my
print article. I decided on technology and I
looked for similar articles to use for
inspiration for my own about technology
influencing youth.
Entry 3
• This week I decided to change the task that I
was doing and also decided to join a group as
well.
• Reasons for doing so would be because the
film task would be a much easier task to do
and we can generate more ideas
Entry 4
• We have developed the story that we are
going to film and have the story written out
and we have to also develop a script.
• Today the group will be making a film
timetable so that we can organize which days
we are going to film and also the locations so
that we can coordinate what we are doing
each day and getting filming done on time.
Entry 5
• We started the filming today and we started
with one of the harder scenes such as the final
scenes in our short film.
• I filmed the scene where the main characters
are supposed to be arguing on a cliff edge this
was a harder shot to film as I had to make the
scene look as realistic as possible.
Entry 6
• Today I filmed another scene for our short film,
we decided to try and film two different scenes
today. I started by filming the classroom
detention scene and also the audition scene
where the two main characters would have the
fight.
• The classroom detention scene was quite simple
to film however when filming the audition scene it
was quite hard to get the correct focus in the
camera and to find the correct lighting as the
drama studio where we filmed was quite dark.
Entry 7
• We have started to do some soundtrack
research into what music would fit with our
short film.
• I have been looking at a lot of music that
would build suspense in our film as that is a
convention of psychological films however are
film is a hybrid psychological drama so we
would need music that can somehow display
both genres.
Entry 8
• We have carried on with more filming of the
rest of the film so that we can finalise the edit
that we have since we have filmed the
beginning and ending scenes already.
• I have filmed a lot of running tracking shots
today and also re filmed some other scenes so
that we could have a more fluid continuity in
our film since we didn’t start filming in a
continuous order.
Entry 9
• We have started to edit our film in IMovie as
we were unable to get our footage on an IMac
so we could use a more professional film
editor. However we wont leave the film
edited by iMovie, we plan to make more finer
changes with Adobe Premier Pro which is a
much more professional and smoother editor
to use.
Entry 10
• The whole group has looked at our first edit of the
film and we have decided to make some different
changes to the film.
• We found that the film didn’t make as much sense
as we thought it would as we were watching it
through. We also saw that some of the shots were
not in good focus and we wanted to somehow
add better shots throughout the film. So we
decided to make some major changes to the plot
and change a lot of he scenes to achieve a better
improved film.
Entry 11
• Someone else in the group decided to rewrite
the whole script that we originally had so that
we could see the changes that we could
understand what we were going to film.
• From this new script I then drew up a new
storyboard that we would use whilst we are
filming so that we would know what we are
filming and not waste time with filming time.
Entry 12
• With todays filming we decided to use a different
location with the plot change as well. We filmed
in the house of someone in the group.
• This is a big change from the previous locations
we filmed but it is quite a good setting to film as
it makes the film have a better sense of realism.
We also made a major change with end scene by
deciding to make it on a bridge as this would
make the scene more realistic and dangerous
especially with cars moving underneath.
Entry 13
• We have completed the filming of the newly
developed story one of the group members
decided to take the film home to start editing
the film.
• Then the whole group came together to look
at the edited film as a whole and then we
decided what the titles on the film would be,
so we would have a completed film.
