Audience Characteristics
Positives
• I believe that my trailer appeals to my
audience because it doesn't reveal too
much about the story, but it reveals
enough to make sure they know one
side of that story, giving the audience
the option to who's side they are on.
• The trailer also re-creates parts of the
original source material which would
make my audience pleased as it shows
that I understand what the story is
about and who the characters are,
despite the projects being parodies of
the manga and anime
Negatives
• I don't think the main character (me)
looks enough like Light Yagami to
have my audience happy with the
design since it does not fit the
original source material
• Since no one else important other
than the main character is shown, it
is harder for my audience to figure
out the other characters and the
stories
Design
Positives
• There was a mix of camera recordings
and images made in photoshop
• I used the same font styles for the title
as the font used in the series itself
• The background for most of the text
looked quite nice because the mix of
black and white dots represent the two
sides of the story and how they collide
with each other so often
• The background for the main title is
the cover of the Death Note itself but
with the writing removed which I did
using the magic pen tool in photoshop
Negatives
• The font styles for the text during the
trailer are not the same as the title
because it made certain letters look
like others which bothers me
• Every single shot is a locked off shot
which is not different or unique
• The criminal killing compilation does
go on for a while which gets dull and
boring
Production
Positives
• I used a few different shots for the trailer,
each showing the difference of power
between the main characters two
personalities
• There aren't many different edits, mostly cuts
and a couple of fades to black at the start of
the trailer, this is because the trailer didn't
need too many transitions
• There is always something to see during the
trailer with no unintentional black screens
which keeps my audience interested
• The timing between certain beats of the song
and certain actions in the trailer match up
pretty well
Negatives
• The lighting did not work when recording with the
green screen due to lights to the camera not being
accurate to human eyes which caused my cameraman
and I to think we had all of the green screen the same
shade to help me remove the screen; however there
were some sections that were a different shade
which caused the videos to have large batches of
unusual grey areas
• During one of the final scenes, the top of my head is
chopped off because the camera was slightly too
close when recording and I didn't check how the
video was before placing the clips in the trailer
• Most of the shots in the trailer are still shots and not
many moving shots which is quite boring for the
audience
• Because one of my plans to record certain scenes in
certain areas, I had to change the plan
Planning and Time Management
Positives
• I was able to finish my project before
the due date
• My planning did not go too much into
fruition because of different
circumstances
Negatives
• Due to some plans not coming to
fruition because of specific problems,
I had to change plans and ideas, so
the project is done by the due date
• I wasn't able to get recordings done
during most of the production time
due to bad planning
