The Pros And Cons Of Poverty In Nigeria
The perception of Africa is often limited to poverty, disease, starvation and inequality. In 1999,
extreme poverty affected 58% of the African population. That number has now fallen to 35%. With
over 500 companies generating a turnover involving billions of dollars each year, Africa is not
emerging it s already here.
Surprising to most, Africa is the world leader in online banking and mobile money transactions. The
continent faces many challenges and difficulties, but Africa is evolving and already boasts
numerous economies.
It s no longer a continent of conflict. Many foreigners forget that most countries in Africa are
democratically run.
Africa s growth can be tracked in multiple areas, such as the improvement in democracy in
government, population growth, demographics, education, and an uptake in IT and mobile phone
usage.
Nigeria
One in every five Africans is Nigerian; that is an indicator of how large and populated Nigeria is.
Often referred to as the Giant of Africa owing to this reputation, Nigeria has a population of
approximately 187 million, and the largest youth population in the world. The country is home to
over 500 ethnic groups, with Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba being the three largest.
Governed by President Muhammadu Buhari, who took over from Goodluck Jonathan in 2015, the
country is run by a presidential government system consisting of the executive, the legislature, and
the judiciary.
According to the Nigeria s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), the

Essay Camparing Christian Mysticism and Buddhism
What can be said about the unspeakable? How does one begin to describe the indescribable? The
very act of discussing ineffability questions whether anything can be truly ineffable in the first
place. Religion almost always critically depends on the ineffability of some experience or entity.
This is a widespread tendency, but some would argue that it is a rule for all religions. That there
must be the recognition of something
beyond, transcendent or pure.
Prior to judging Christian or Buddhist beliefs, it is necessary to understand ineffability itself.
Generally speaking, it is unspeakable. Conceptually, it is not attainable.
By our standards, it is beyond our human realm.
To speak is to make distinctions. As... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to grasp the ultimate truth, it is necessary to escape the linguistic and conceptual
limitations that are part of humanity. To see beyond our filters and ourselves is the only way to
experience something purely.
2. Christian Mysticism
In the Christian religions, there is a God. Worshiped and loved, this divinity is three persons in one:
the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Ghost. Among the multitude of denominations, and
through the ages there have been many types of
Christian mystics. The foundation of all religions is arguably set by mysticism, which is as Evelyn
Underhill put it, the direct intuition or experience of God (Fanning, 2). Those who are identified as
mystics in the Christian traditions claim to have had a very intimate, direct connection to God.
This divine communion with God is claimed by mystics to be beyond words. It is not something
that can be described to anyone who has not experienced it. That which we have heard it called,
includes: divine possession , mystical marriage with the deity , and mystical ecstasy (Fanning, 7
13). They feel to have become one with God, and that they are God. They say that their way is the
only way to properly worship God.
Simply knowing of him is not enough; one must truly come to know him through mystical
experiences.
In order to achieve such a feeling, devotes must go through some personal growth first. To

How Bill Gates Has The World s Most Successful Man
Bill Gates has always been known for being one of the world s most successful man. It is largely
known that he, with Steve Ballmer, created Microsoft both the software and the company.
Microsoft is one of the world s most popular computer software companies that was created by
Gates and Ballmer in 1972 at least that s when the idea was formed. But what many people don t
know or don t realize is that fact that both Ballmer and Gates were college dropouts. They weren t
dropouts from just any college, though, but from Harvard University. Now, Gates often jokes about
how he is, according to Crimson, Harvard s most successful dropout . In his 2007 Harvard
Commencement Address, Gates uses three key factors to make his speech a greatly memorable
one. He used humor, seriousness, and motivation all in an adequate way that helped his speech be
one for the books.
For example, after addressing the listeners, Gates uses the following quote to open up his speech
and hook his listeners attention; I ve been waiting more than 30 years to say this: Dad, I always
told you I d come back and get my degree . That immediately results in laughter from the crowd.
From then on, the humor and laughter continues for the majority of the opening. Gates proceeds to
joke about how Crimson s quote makes me (Gates) valedictorian of my (Gates) own special
class...I (Gates) did the best of everyone who failed . He also jokingly says how he is a bad
influence and that is why he was invited to speak at

Founding Father by the name of Benjamin Franklin regarding the role of the government. The
topic of the discussion is the current state of the federalist of the government, the different
branches, functions, structural, and political characteristics, federal powers and exclusive
powers. At the end of this assignment Benjamin Franklin will have knowledge of how the
government operates in the 21st century. Explain the roles of the various branches of
government, their administrative functions, and their structural and political characteristics Mr.
Benjamin Franklin, the first topic of discussion is the roles of the various branches of
government, and they are as follows, the legislative, executive, and judicial. The legislative
branch is responsible for the laws regarding passing bills, impeachment, and spending. The
House of Representatives and Senate also falls under the body of the judicial branch. For
example Mr. Franklin, the legislative branch, along with the Governor of Texas, Greg Abbott

Examples Of Associative Learning
Learning: learning is a mandatory skill that is needed for every single person in the world. No one
simply just knows something right off the bat, everything must be learned. They re many types of
learning techniques; each person has their own learning style. Accordingly, there are three main
learning types; audible ( hearing), visual, and kinesthetic ( hands on ). Not every skill is learned in
the classroom, some skills are just acquired through life s experiences. There are many theories
concerning the matter of learning; this essay will discuss two very popular theories, Observational
learning and associative learning. The observational learning and associative learning theories are

Therefore It is very prominent in society. Associative learning in general encompasses many
forms of learning including observational. Because of the vast amount of possible examples of
associative learning, this essay will present the experiment of Ivan Pavlov and John B. Watson.
While this experiment is specifically an example of classical conditioning, like the observational
theory, associative learning encompesses many other theories such as classical conditioning.
Here is the experiment of Ivan pavlov and his dogs. Pavlov, a physiologist ( not a physcologist )
was conducting an experiment involving dogs and their digestive system. Because he was
interested in the digestive system, he implanted tubes within his s dogs mouths to collect saliva.
After the dogs ate food he would measure the amount of saliva secreted. He discovered that the
dogs did not only salivated to the taste of food but to the sight of food,an empty bowl, and even
to the sound of footsteps of the lab assistants bringing them food. Pavlov was interested by this;
so he took it farther. Because he knew that dogs salivate to food,In his next experiment he rang a
bell right before giving the dogs food. He repeated this for a while. Consequently the dogs
learned to associate the ringing of a bell with food and as a result the dogs would salivate. In other
words the dogs learned to associate the ringing of a bell to food and as a result they would salivate.
Pavlov concluded that after exposure to a unconditioned stimulus plus a neutral stimulus you could
produced a unconditioned reaction to a neutral

Yellow Ribbon Short Story
Let us use our imagination for a brief moment to connect with these characters to better
understand what the various authors are trying to teach. As I ve illustrated below, figures from the
short stories display exceptional examples of the following lessons. First, pretend to be in a
position of loneliness. Next, imagine decision making, and how others poor decisions can provide
a cause and effect. The three lessons I learned from reading the five stories were loneliness, an
absence of love, and the importance of decision making. The first lesson I would like to
emphasize on is loneliness. I love you! You can t leave me like this (Jones 102)! Is what the
widow in Footprints screamed. In that moment of the story, she is not only struck with sadness
but a sudden feeling of intense loneliness. Loneliness is horrid especially in cases severe as this
one. I think this is the lesson the author is trying to teach. In the story Hate Bracelet the author
captures the main character s anguish; in such a manner that it is disgusting to see Lisa behave
the way she does. While Lisa s misery may not all be self inflicted, this is a perfect illustration of
what alienating can cause if sustained for a great length of time. While reading this next story, I
could relate to the seclusion Abigail s mother was giving her. In Yellow Ribbon the author is
educating her readers that forcing isolation on people is atrocious. In my opinion, the stories I
referenced demonstrate great

Short Story Of A Pumpkin
Have you ever had a situation where you think telling the truth will get you in trouble, however
lying or not saying anything would possibly make the situation worse? Then you re faced with the
decision of telling the truth, or keeping quiet and awaiting the results. This is the story of how I
learned to always be honest.
It was a snowy, January afternoon several years ago when my brother and I were playing in the
snow at my grandparent s house. I was digging in a massive mountain of snow. I was trying to
make a snow bunker for a later planned snowball fight against my big brother. When through the
white cascade, I saw a small speck of orange in the sea of white. To my surprise, I dug up a
miniature pumpkin that had been withered by the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I was still holding the pumpkin in my hand, and I noted the diameter of the pipe and the size of my
pumpkin appeared to be very similar. A quick thoughtcame to my mind, I wonder how well they
fit together? and I let curiosity get the best of me. I wiggled the pumpkin into the pipe. It was
almost an airtight fit. Then I reached my hand back into it to pull the pumpkin out, and it just
pushed the pumpkin farther back into the pipe. The stubborn pumpkin wouldn t come out! I
panicked for what seemed like an eternity, thinking about what kinds of punishments I would
receive if someone found out. But if nobody found out, I wouldn t have to face any punishments.
So, I decided that I wouldn t tell anyone about what had just happened. After it got dark I met
back up with my brother who was over by the big hill in the back of the yard. We walked back
over to the house talking about the forts that we made and how many snowballs we were getting
ready. Then he asked, Did you find any pumpkins in the snow? I Knew he discovered what I did,
but I thought that I should just play dumb. I said, No pumpkins at all. Why would you think that I
found any pumpkins? He said right back, I

Physical And Physical Development Of Children
Physical development of children correlates to other areas of development, for example, fine and
gross motor and results in healthy development of the brain. A teacher should observe and assess
the development of the learners fine motor coordination and gross motor developmental milestones
during outdoor play. However, children grow at different rates, which is an indication that a child
may regress in a skill or reach a milestone earlier than another.
Therefore, teachers should use the developmental milestones as a general guideline to developing
the learners physically. The teacher must develop enjoyment of the physical activityto encourage
the children to better approach the tasks and thus lay a strong foundation for life long health. ...

The physical development milestones will provide a guide regarding when the instructor should
expect particular skills depending on gross motor development as well as fine motor development.
Milestones will help the instructor understand and pinpoint the typical patterns of development
exhibited by the students as they mature.
The milestones involve development in skills, such as flexibility, strength, and agility. The
exercises will involve standing on one foot for two minutes or longer, hopping, skipping the rope,
doing somersault. The exercises will also involve sit ups and push ups, cartwheels, and
handstands. The score for sit ups and push ups will involve the number done in one minute. For the
sit ups, the feet will be held and the fingers curled over the student s ears.
The students will run on the field track between 10 and 20 minutes. The ability to throw and catch
the ball will be evaluated on accuracy. The students should able to easily combine different kinds of
movements, such as jumping to catch a ball and running with it. They should also be able to catch
the balls without holding them against their body. Further, they should be able to jump rope while
holding it.
The girls attained excellent results in rope skipping as opposed to the boys who exhibited novice
skills for they had just began to demonstrate a low level of knowledge regarding the skill. The
boys were better at gross motor skills especially in sit ups, push ups, and

A Doll House Character Analysis
Since the beginning of humanity people fought for resources and land to fulfill their selfish
needs. Animals also show the characteristic of selfishness whether it is a mother stealing to feed
her child or two male birds fighting for a mate. However, donating to the poor or helping the
disabled is an act of selflessness. This can also be understood in humans as selflessness and
selfishnessis an instinctually necessary habit that requires balance. This shift between selfishness to
selflessness is shown during 1879 in Europe s social culture. The social culture allowed men to
create an egoistic and manipulative characteristic because of this instinctual imbalance. In the play,

Another piece of evidence in the dialogue is when Nora took up copying work that Torvald
thought it was for decorating the Christmas tree which he mocked her saying it was sorry (382).
This again suggests Nora s selflessness for taking the taunting and teasing even though she was
trying to pay back the loan she borrowed to save Trovald, who mocks her. The underlying
beneficial reason is Nora s care for her family and her fear of her husband finding out. Lastly,
through this pain and fear the shift in characterization starts to occur.
Secondly, towards the end of the play, Nora s characterization shifts to self serving because it is
advantageous to her situation. The shift in her character to selfishness is seen when she admits,
The trip was to save my husband s life (389). This shows her egocentric act against the law by
committing forgery in order to acquire money to save her husband. She commits this selfish act
towards her own advantage for her family. Although the egocentric act is an illegal crime, she
justifies it with her moral necessity. Lastly, Nora s transition to a selfish character can be seen
with the use of a prop and the movement with the prop when she hits [Dr. Rank] lightly on the ear
with the stockings (395). The prop exemplifies a sexual item to which the movement is seen in a
flirtatious manner in order to ask for a favor. The advantage of

Skin Breakdown Paper
Background For my practice I was fortunate to be able to work at the Bethany in Cochrane. This
facility was well kept and has much of the equipment to properly and holistically care for their
residents. While in practice, I was able to help with a variety of tasks, including morning care
and bed making. An essential element of morning care was a skin assessment, typically to look
for bruises, dry spots, and most importantly, ulcers. Ulcers are painful and can decrease quality
of life (Ricci, 2013). Skin breakdown is typically caused by moisture, skin pH, microorganisms,
and friction (Flynn, 2011). The use of stretchy polyester cotton blend sheets at the facility led to
the inquiry of skin integrity and the influence of fabrics on aging skin. I began to wonder if fabric
breathability make that much of a difference, which lead me to the question of fabrics and facts.
Does the use of polyester sheets, cotton sheets, or cotton polyester blend sheets decrease the risk of
skin breakdown in long term... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For this study researchers assessed 32 different fabrics made of polyester, cotton, viscose fibers,
polypropylene, and a blend of the fabrics to determine the thermal conductivity, the wicking
ability, the breathability of the fabric, and the fabrics ability to absorb water (Basal Ilgaz, 2009).
In order to collect accurate data researchers used an Alambeta thermos tester, a specialized
machine to measure heat and moisture. In this study, polyester and cotton alone caused higher
thermal resistance than a cotton polyester blend (Basal Ilgaz, 2009). A strait cotton or polyester
blend was found to be better at wicking away moisture, which is one of the main causes of skin
breakdown (Basal Ilgaz, 2009). In the conclusion of the study the researchers determined that
channeled polyester was the best choice for bedsheets due to combined factors (Basal Ilgaz,

Emotional Intelligence is a situated of capacities concerned with transforming feelings and

inquiry is foremost: Do sincerely canny pioneers accomplish unrivalled conclusions? (Walter et

The Economic Impact Of Nuclear Energy
3.1 Economic Impact of Nuclear Energy
The primary reason that people intend to build a nuclear power plant is the cost of nuclear
energy. The number of nuclear power stations increased dramatically during the first oil crisis.
During that time, the nuclear energy is taken as a substitution of fossil fuels with reasonable
cost. Governments were afraid that the high oil price in the future would affect economics,
especially for those industrialized countries who have a lack of natural resources such as Japan
and some countries in Europe. Since the nuclear stations can operate for a fairly long period,
typically 40 to 60 years, the lifetime cost of nuclear generated electricity is low and can be very
competitive at a low price per unit energy produced. Also, majority of the cost of nuclear energy is
incurred during construction and preparation before it starts operating. The cost of uranium affects
little to the total cost of nuclear energy, so not like a thermal power station, which is sensitive to
the price of coal, natural gas or oil, the electricity price from a nuclear power plant will be pretty
stable. These advantages on cost will benefit both industry and people s living. A report from
Mckinsey about energy in Japan shows that after the Fukushima accident, because of the shutdown
of nuclear power plants, household electricity prices have increased by more than 50% from 10
в‚µ/kWh to 16в‚µ/kWh. [27] The rise of electricity price may be a result of power shortage. This

Examples Of Cantos In Dantes Inferno
Complementary Cantos Dante Alighieri s Divine Comedy can be successfully read straight
through as a continuous story. However, he skillfully connects verses and cantos to each other
throughout the books, adding meaning and depth to his story. Dante s choice to make his work
interdependent on other points throughout his text drives home greater significance of the series in
a way that is similar to that which the Bible uses. The Bible also contains verses that relate to
other books within its pages. Dante reinforces his status as a Christian author by emulating the
model of the religion s holy text. An example of interconnectedness in Dante s work can be found
in the third canto of each of the books in the Divine Comedy: Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso. He
uses various elements to connect these cantos together and increase potential analysis and meaning
of the text. The beginning of canto III in Inferno and Purgatorio both talk about justice (Inferno III:
4, Purgatorio III: 3). In Inferno, justice is mentioned because it is one of the reasons Hellcame into

Defining an Individual Essay
Defining an Individual
What is an individual? How can one become an individual? Is it even possible to become an
individual in society? Can we successfully distinguish ourselves from the majority to make our
own decisions? How does your family affect your personality and every day decision making: your
ethics and morals? How does your childhood affect you today? How does it affect our subconscious
something we can not control and we do not have access to? Is it possible to go back in time and
completely erase everything we have been taught through years of brainwashing and manipulation,
not only from the system that we are brought up in but also the family and lifestyles that are now
part of us?
The term individual as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Can we trust our instincts to lead us in a personal, unorthodox way? Does it mean that we spend
our life in pursuit of this great task of erasing our past? Is that possible? Does it mean that we
question everything we do in order to make our own choices? Would not that mean we are being
affected directly from the exact thing we desperately need to escape? Would not it be incredibly
easy to rebel against the norm to appear individual? If you rebel against the way of everything else
then you are doing the exact same thing that everyone else is doing. Rebelling does not institute
individualism. There is no environment that would serve the purpose of producing an individual.
Once we use these words environment and producing, we instantly defeat the purpose.
In The Soul s Code by James Hillman he states, The category unshared environment is an
invention of hard sciences to locate the cause of individual differences (Hillman, 149). An
environment that is unshared by it s surroundings is a fallacy. He goes on to state, Even the pillow
on which I lie breathing as I float into my own private midnight dream bears traces of duck down,
polyester, and cotton and the environments from which is was manufactured, as well as of the
traffic of mites sharing the pillow with me (149). There is no environment capable of testing the
individual outside of society.

Essay on Internal Control Risks
Internal Control Risks Identified in Apollo Shoes
Assessing control risk is the process of evaluating the design and operating effectiveness of a
company s internal controls as to how it prevents or detects material misstatements in the financial
statement assertions of management (Hayes, Dassen, Schilder, amp; Wallage, 2005). The
conclusion reached as a result of assessing control risk is referred to as the assessed level of
control risk. When assessing controls the auditor looks for weaknesses in a company s internal
controls for two reasons: to determine the nature and extent of the substantive tests the auditor will
perform and to formulate constructive suggestions for improvements (Hayes, Dassen, Schilder,
amp; Wallage, 2005).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pre numbering is meant to prevent both the failure to bill or record sales and the occurrence of
duplicate billings and recordings. However, it does not do much good to have pre numbered
documents unless they are properly accounted for. To use this control effectively, a billing clerk
should file a copy of all shipping documents in sequential order after each shipment is billed, while
another employee should periodically account for all numbers and investigate the reason for any
missing documents (Arens, Elder, amp; Beasley, 2012).
The sales order forms were kept in the sales clerk s working area where many people passed
through during the day. Estimated dollar amounts were prepared by sales clerks and written on the
order forms. The sales orders are then hand carried to the credit manager, who is in the treasurer s
department. Typically, the computer automatically prepares the sales invoiceafter the customer
number; quantity, destination of goods shipped, and sales terms are entered (Arens, Elder, amp;
Beasley, 2012). The computer calculates the invoice extensions and total sales amount using the
information entered, along with prices in the inventory master file.
The issues specified leave room for fraud and misstatements in sales, accounts receivable and
revenue. Therefore, the

When going through life there are some adventures you have to face. Meeting new people, going

Finding Nemo and Cars show what its like to go through life s battles but have a prize at the end.
The relationship of the two are not precisely the same but portray some of the same challenges that

John Doe Construction Failure
Picking the right contractor could mean the difference between an easy and enjoyable experience
and an endless sea of pain and suffering. Regardless of the size of the project, most people would
narrow down the requirements of a good contractor to three general categories: cost, quality, ability
to meet agreed upon time frames. For businesses, the only additional requirement is
communication. As it pains me to say, John Doe Construction failed to meet the basic expectations
above, it also managed to cost us significant amount of money due to delays. The names of the

The Roles and Influences of Media on Crime
In the political world, media has both a positive and negative affect. Americans as a whole are
engrossed with crime whether it be a fictional representation on a person s favorite television show,
or a true story the nightly news. The entertainment media influences our lives in consciously and
subconsciously, day in and day out, playing a critical and constantly cultivating role in the criminal
justicesystem and the conduct of politics.
How exactly does one determine what media is? According to your standard Google search on the
definition of the term, media is, the main means of mass communication (esp. television, radio,
newspapers, and the Internet) regarded collectively. Broken down, this ultimately means that any
means by which information is spread can be considered media. Even from the founding of the
United States, freedom and active accessibility of press and media has taken a serious part in
American politics. It would be difficult to imagine politics with out the accompaniment or presence
of the media. The availability of political information through media resources has changed over
time with the advancement of technology and overall globalization of our modern world.

Bible Verses On Forgiveness In Marriage
Bible verses on Forgiveness in marriage
The biblical perspective of forgiveness in marriage correlates with forgiveness in all relations. The
incorporation of spiritual angle of forgiveness allows married couples to have faith in marriage
restoration. The Christian principles advocate for forgiveness because of its negative effects stated
in Galatians 5:19 (acts of sinful nature). Galatians 5:22 lists the fruits of the Holy Spirit which are
the positive results of forgiveness. They include: love, peace patience, faithfulness, humility,
kindness, joy, gentleness, and self control.
The bible states that forgiveness is the power of the Holy Spirit for it draws love. In marriage,
prayer is a powerful tool of intercession between Christ our father (God). The example of how to
pray in our Lord prayer in Mathew 6:1 states ....Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who
trespass against us

Theme Of Revenge In Wuthering Heights
One s emotions of hate have the potential to overthrow one s state of being and may cause harm to
others around them. In Emily BrontГ« s Wuthering Heights, several characters emotions are
overtaken by revenge thus leading them to suffer in the end. Revenge grows early in the novel. It
begins with the hate that Hindley Earnshawholds for Heathcliff, an orphan who has been taken in
by Hindley s father, Mr. Earnshaw. Later in the novel, Heathcliff s love of his life, Catherine
Earnshaw, marries Edgar Linton which as one can imagine becomes devastating for Heathcliff.
This sense of betrayal causes Heathcliff to seek revenge on the Lintons and Earnshaws.
Ultimately, Heathcliff becomes the character that is mainly driven by the strong desire for
revenge. The novel demonstrates how revenge seems to be the easiest method for gaining
fulfillment, but it time disturbs the characters peace of mind and becomes the root of their
downfall. Hindley Earnshaw is the first character in the novel that obtains the desire for
revenge. Early in the book Mr. Earnshaw takes a trip to Liverpool during the time Catherine and
Hindley were still children. He then returns with Heathcliff who was an orphan from the streets.
As he continues to live in the Earnshaw household, Mr. Earnshaw grows love for Heathcliff,
similar to Catherine who also begins to grow a relationship with him. So, from the very
beginning, he bred bad feeling in the house implies that Mr, Earnshaw s strong favoritism for
Heathcliff becomes a major threat for Hindley (33). This means that Heathcliff may become the
new man of the house which would make Hindley very upset. Mr. Earnshaw s demonstration of
love for Heathcliff causes Hindley to gain jealousy and makes him take his anger out on
Heathcliff. He has been blaming our father (how dared he?) for treating H. too liberally; and
swears he will reduce him to his right place fully indicates that Hindley feels anger towards his
father for bringing Heathcliff into their home (19). It seems that Hindley feels that he is not
receiving the attention he deserves from his own father and instead Heathcliff, who is not even Mr.
Earnshaw s biological son, is Mr. Earnshaw s only priority. This ultimately triggers Hindley

The Cultural Influences Of Cuba Essay
Cuba is one of the best places to visit. Because they have so many things to do. like going to the
beach and swimming and picking up hot Cuban girls. The food in Cuba is really also really
healthy. The foods are a blend of Native American Taino food, Spanish, African, and Caribbean
cuisines. Some Cuban recipes share spices and techniques with Spanish and African cooking, with
some Caribbean influence in spice and flavor. This results in a unique, interesting and flavorful
blend of the several different cultural influences, with strong similarities with the cuisine of the
neighboring Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. As a result of the colonization of Cubaby Spain,
one of the main influences on the cuisine is from Spain. Along with Spain, other culinary
influences include Africa, from the Africans that were brought to Cuba as slaves, and French,
from the French colonists that came to Cuba from Haiti. A typical meal would consist of rice and
beans, cooked together or apart. Dolphinarium, Kayo Naranjo is one of the best things to do in
Cuba, like visit dolphins to play with them and swim. Cuba is a good play to have family time
because there are so many monuments and sites to see with your family for good memories

As a child develops into an adult there are critical developmental steps that are necessary for a
complete and successful transition. The physical transition is the most obvious change, but
underneath the thick skin and amongst the complex systems, exists another layer of transitions.
Ideas, rationales, ideologies and beliefs all dwell within this layer of each being. It could be said
that a nation can also fit this transitional framework. A nation grows in both size (wealth,

The Context Of Growing Economic Interdependence
This paper will endeavour to explore the context of growing economic interdependence
(globalisation); inequality is both growing within and between nations. In turn, analysing the
following the following statement that Inequality can undermine economic, social and perhaps
even political stability. It can tear the very fabric that holds society together. We now have firm
evidence that a severely skewed income distribution harms the pace and sustainability of growth
over the longer term. The growing gap between the rich and poor is now at its highest levels due to
wealth disparity, income inequality and education. Reference to the term the gap between the rich
and the poor also refers to inequality among groups in society as well as countries and is related to
equality in opportunity and outcomes. Although there is no standard in measuring the gap between
the rich and poor, indicators such as wealth disparity, income and education are threats to the
growth of economies. The debate on whether the gap is widening between the rich and poor; it is
important to understand what causes inequality. For example: whether inequality exists because of
opportunity, in other words, those that cannot access education. For those opposing the debate on
the widening gap between the rich and poor note that individuals who work hard and receive a

If one was to achieve autonomy then they would have a feeling of confidence, but if those that
don t achieve autonomy doubt their own abilities and have a sense of inadequacy (Cherry,

After swearing into the sea the correspondent remembers a rhyme from his childhood that he
once did not care about but now does. The captain awakes and the oiler and the correspondent
switch spots. (7) The crew notices a village on the shore with a windmill. The men prepare to
jump from the ship and swim ashore. The captain holds onto the boat afraid he will drown. A man
appears on the beach naked and helps the men onto the shore. Everyone makes it except for Billie
the oiler who is found face down in the sand dead.
Tone: Crane has the ability to create multiple tones all in one passage. The tone seems to be a tad
dreary and tragic do to the fact that at any moment the men could all be drowned. Although, when
there is dialogue there is more of a straight forward and comic tone that demonstrates the increasing
friendship that is apparent to the reader, although the men refuse to mention it. This tone is
important because, Crane makes his characters out to be helpless against the element of nature and it
s over bearing on them. Thus, this bond between the men is the only thing they have to overcome
the environment.
Style: One thing that Crane has been known for is his use of imagery and similes in his writing.

How Is Miss Brodie Controlled
A common theme in the novel The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie is control. In The Prime of Miss

A specific scene in which Miss Brodie has a negative influence on the girls is academically when

A specific scene in which Miss Brodie has a negative influence on the girls is when she attempts

him. It was plain that Miss Brodie wanted Rose with her instinct to start preparing to be Teddy

accustomed to growing up. I saw how difficult it was to counsel a kid struggling with obesity...

Speech physiology focuses on the ways that we perceive, transmit, and produce speech. Without
explicit instruction, language and speech is developed through mimicry. When we are babies, we
hear speech constantly and as we learn to speak, we mimic the mouth movements and the sounds of
the people in our environment. As speech is learned, we also develop mechanisms that allow for
simultaneous compensation while we are vocalizing. For example, if we are speaking in a loud
restaurant and suddenly the music goes off, we are likely to lower our intensity to compensate for
the change in our environment. During my research practicum, we analyzed different responses to
perturbations or changes in auditory feedback amongst participants with different backgrounds. In
trying to understand how these pathways and processes work in healthy participants, we can better
understand how they are affected in patients with conditions such as aphasia or even patients
recovering from

Analysis Of Samuel Satti s The Joy Of Exercising In...
Moderation is a trait that could mean to be self controlled, or to do certain activities gradually
over time. Some activities that would require self control could be something as simple as,
exercising and eating. If a person exercises excessively then they are showing an unhealthy
addiction that can be harmful, just as over eating can result in being overweight which is also
destructive to the body. Now conducting oneself moderately can bring a person joy because they
will not feel obligated to follow a strict routine. Samuel Sattin s The Joy of Exercising in
Moderation , discusses the importance of moderation being incorporated into one s life, by using
anecdote, first person, and a critical tone. As the author continuously integrates... Show more

Sattin states, But there are also people who cannot seem to see the positive effects of physicality
on a daily basis. My outlook in particular began to change when my wife after months of subtle
cajoling got me to attend a yoga like stretch class. Here the author basically realizes and relates to
people that might struggle with a slow yet consistent exercise routine. Also, Sattin further
articulates that he has found that his opinion of exercising is changing from not working out
because of bad influences, to a daily easy workout that he can gradually make a habit. He
explains revealing his awakening, Exercise was not about competition. It was about what makes
you feel better. After the class I took with her, as opposed to feeling repulsed, I realized that my
body had been asking me to treat it better for a long, long time. When the author shares his feelings
to his change in attitude to moderately exercising, he explains that he found a sense of delight
knowing he was doing something to help him, but not overdoing it which could be harmful. The
use of Sattin s first person provides a close connection between the reader and him which helps
explain how applying moderation is changing his

The Gang Member Of The Eight Tray Criminal Hoover Essay
Frank Gottie is one of the most well known gang member of The Eight Tray Criminal Hoover in
Memphis. Gottie believes that gangs are becoming to spin out of control, that it needs to be a
solution to gang activity. On July 10, 2016 Gottie says I ain t never seen heaven before, but it was
like a Memphis heaven everybody was on one accord , if the gangs could be on the same page for
Black Lives Matter (Jones and Fretland, 2016) . Why can t it happen for the youth? Ar tavius
Brown was 18 years old and joined a gangcalled the Pirus the Blood Alliance. Brown joined gang
activity in South Memphis because he saw people with the cars, with the money (Goggans, 2014).
Brown was put with the ramifications of having a gun shoot out at Central High school, but the
judge saw something within Brown and gave him a second chance.
Why are these stories relevant? These stories are relevant to the gang problem because if a gang
member, Frank Gottie, sees that the gang problem in Memphis has to stop then it should be
addressed. The community should want a change so the generation in Memphis doesn t fall into the
typical stereotypes, they should want more for the future youth to come. Everyone(the youth) won t
have that second chance like the Memphian Ar tavius Brown, all the youth won t have that judge
that will see the better side of the situation. The community needs to get more involved with the
youth, their kids, and family; so the gang problem won t become worse than it is becoming.

America Will Never Achieve Racial Equality
Genesis Morales
Mrs. Somerville
English 1 Honors
2 March 2017
America Will Never Achieve Racial and Social Equality: Racial equality is when all races are
treated equally. Social equality is when all individuals in a society have the same rights and
beliefs. Most believe that America will never achieve racial and social equality. There are many
reasons that follow behind this belief. Reasons and information on this subject will state why
people America will never achieve racial and social equality. President Donald Trump was elected
and thousands of women were expected to attend one of the largest demonstrations in world history.
The woman s march in Washington dc quickly increased and almost 400 women were involved in
this act. This act ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Races should treat each others the way they want the other race to treat them. To me that is so
disrespectful how people in general treat each other. Judging is another major topic don t judge
a book by its cover. I feel as if we stopped this and ended racial equality more social between people
could happen. This is the century we have to change what we believe in. As difficult times are
ahead of us and approach us. This is when a we need to change. This is when we need to make a
move so a lot of change can stat happening. Not for the better of one race but for the better of every
race and everyone in general. We need to end this racial prejudice all together its becoming too
much and too many movements are happening in effect of it. A lot of acts happened during the
civil rights movements. Martin Luther King, Jr. was the main host of most of the acts that
happened during this time. He dedicated a decade of his life to see if he could pursuit racial
equality and social justice. He fought for what he believe in and that s what I think most of us
individuals need to do for change to

Pro Life And Pro Choice Essay
Rawls and Nagel would support Hillary Clinton s stance on abortion in a secular society,
regardless of certain comprehensive doctrines, if we are to call the state just and rational. If we
were to consider that women were rational beings, as we should, then rationally the issue of
abortion would not be a dilemma. Since we live in a pluralistic society where all citizens
comprehensive doctrines are free to be heard, this issue of pro life and pro choice becomes a
controversy. This creates tension within the public sphere between religious citizens and the public
sphere. This can be demonstrated between the different ideology of four theologians. Michael
Sandel and Thomas Nagel agree that banning abortionis not correct but they clash in the way that
they justify this issue. John Rawlsis consistent with Nagel s theory on the justification of abortion
for women but not to the extent of Hillary Clinton s late pregnancy abortion. Finally Ratzingers
argues why rationality can not be the only source for the justification of abortion shows why this
causes tensions between the religious citizens and public sphere.
Hillary Clinton is a secular pro choice advocate. For the most part Clinton stands faithfully by her
Methodist Church traditions. She previously believed that abortion was consistently wrong with
the exception that it would affect the mother but since then has changed her view. In 2016 s
interview with NBC s Meet the Press , Clinton clarifies her stance on abortion.

  • 2. The Pros And Cons Of Poverty In Nigeria The perception of Africa is often limited to poverty, disease, starvation and inequality. In 1999, extreme poverty affected 58% of the African population. That number has now fallen to 35%. With over 500 companies generating a turnover involving billions of dollars each year, Africa is not emerging it s already here. Surprising to most, Africa is the world leader in online banking and mobile money transactions. The continent faces many challenges and difficulties, but Africa is evolving and already boasts numerous economies. It s no longer a continent of conflict. Many foreigners forget that most countries in Africa are democratically run. Africa s growth can be tracked in multiple areas, such as the improvement in democracy in government, population growth, demographics, education, and an uptake in IT and mobile phone usage. Nigeria One in every five Africans is Nigerian; that is an indicator of how large and populated Nigeria is. Often referred to as the Giant of Africa owing to this reputation, Nigeria has a population of approximately 187 million, and the largest youth population in the world. The country is home to over 500 ethnic groups, with Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba being the three largest. Governed by President Muhammadu Buhari, who took over from Goodluck Jonathan in 2015, the country is run by a presidential government system consisting of the executive, the legislature, and the judiciary. The very act of discussing ineffability questions whether anything can be truly ineffable in the first place. Religion almost always critically depends on the ineffability of some experience or entity. This is a widespread tendency, but some would argue that it is a rule for all religions. That there must be the recognition of something beyond, transcendent or pure. Prior to judging Christian or Buddhist beliefs, it is necessary to understand ineffability itself. Worshiped and loved, this divinity is three persons in one: the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Ghost. Among the multitude of denominations, and through the ages there have been many types of Christian mystics. The foundation of all religions is arguably set by mysticism, which is as Evelyn Underhill put it, the direct intuition or experience of God (Fanning, 2). Those who are identified as mystics in the Christian traditions claim to have had a very intimate, direct connection to God. This divine communion with God is claimed by mystics to be beyond words. It is not something that can be described to anyone who has not experienced it. That which we have heard it called, includes: divine possession , mystical marriage with the deity , and mystical ecstasy (Fanning, 7 13). They feel to have become one with God, and that they are God. They say that their way is the only way to properly worship God. Simply knowing of him is not enough; one must truly come to know him through mystical experiences. In order to achieve such a feeling, devotes must go through some personal growth first. To ... But what many people don t know or don t realize is that fact that both Ballmer and Gates were college dropouts. They weren t dropouts from just any college, though, but from Harvard University. Now, Gates often jokes about how he is, according to Crimson, Harvard s most successful dropout . In his 2007 Harvard Commencement Address, Gates uses three key factors to make his speech a greatly memorable one. He used humor, seriousness, and motivation all in an adequate way that helped his speech be one for the books. For example, after addressing the listeners, Gates uses the following quote to open up his speech and hook his listeners attention; I ve been waiting more than 30 years to say this: Dad, I always told you I d come back and get my degree . That immediately results in laughter from the crowd. From then on, the humor and laughter continues for the majority of the opening. Here is the experiment of Ivan pavlov and his dogs. Pavlov, a physiologist ( not a physcologist ) was conducting an experiment involving dogs and their digestive system. Because he was interested in the digestive system, he implanted tubes within his s dogs mouths to collect saliva. After the dogs ate food he would measure the amount of saliva secreted. He discovered that the dogs did not only salivated to the taste of food but to the sight of food,an empty bowl, and even to the sound of footsteps of the lab assistants bringing them food. Pavlov was interested by this; so he took it farther. Because he knew that dogs salivate to food,In his next experiment he rang a bell right before giving the dogs food. He repeated this for a while. Consequently the dogs learned to associate the ringing of a bell with food and as a result the dogs would salivate. As I ve illustrated below, figures from the short stories display exceptional examples of the following lessons. First, pretend to be in a position of loneliness. Next, imagine decision making, and how others poor decisions can provide a cause and effect. The three lessons I learned from reading the five stories were loneliness, an absence of love, and the importance of decision making. The first lesson I would like to emphasize on is loneliness. I love you! You can t leave me like this (Jones 102)! Is what the widow in Footprints screamed. In that moment of the story, she is not only struck with sadness but a sudden feeling of intense loneliness. Loneliness is horrid especially in cases severe as this one. I think this is the lesson the author is trying to teach. In the story Hate Bracelet the author captures the main character s anguish; in such a manner that it is disgusting to see Lisa behave the way she does. While Lisa s misery may not all be self inflicted, this is a perfect illustration of what alienating can cause if sustained for a great length of time. While reading this next story, I could relate to the seclusion Abigail s mother was giving her. In Yellow Ribbon the author is educating her readers that forcing isolation on people is atrocious. However, donating to the poor or helping the disabled is an act of selflessness. This can also be understood in humans as selflessness and selfishnessis an instinctually necessary habit that requires balance. This shift between selfishness to selflessness is shown during 1879 in Europe s social culture. This again suggests Nora s selflessness for taking the taunting and teasing even though she was trying to pay back the loan she borrowed to save Trovald, who mocks her. The underlying beneficial reason is Nora s care for her family and her fear of her husband finding out. Lastly, through this pain and fear the shift in characterization starts to occur. Secondly, towards the end of the play, Nora s characterization shifts to self serving because it is advantageous to her situation. The shift in her character to selfishness is seen when she admits, The trip was to save my husband s life (389). This shows her egocentric act against the law by committing forgery in order to acquire money to save her husband. She commits this selfish act towards her own advantage for her family. Although the egocentric act is an illegal crime, she justifies it with her moral necessity. An essential element of morning care was a skin assessment, typically to look for bruises, dry spots, and most importantly, ulcers. Ulcers are painful and can decrease quality of life (Ricci, 2013). Skin breakdown is typically caused by moisture, skin pH, microorganisms, and friction (Flynn, 2011). The use of stretchy polyester cotton blend sheets at the facility led to the inquiry of skin integrity and the influence of fabrics on aging skin. • 17. The Economic Impact Of Nuclear Energy 3.1 Economic Impact of Nuclear Energy The primary reason that people intend to build a nuclear power plant is the cost of nuclear energy. The number of nuclear power stations increased dramatically during the first oil crisis. During that time, the nuclear energy is taken as a substitution of fossil fuels with reasonable cost. Governments were afraid that the high oil price in the future would affect economics, especially for those industrialized countries who have a lack of natural resources such as Japan and some countries in Europe. Since the nuclear stations can operate for a fairly long period, typically 40 to 60 years, the lifetime cost of nuclear generated electricity is low and can be very competitive at a low price per unit energy produced. Also, majority of the cost of nuclear energy is incurred during construction and preparation before it starts operating. The cost of uranium affects little to the total cost of nuclear energy, so not like a thermal power station, which is sensitive to the price of coal, natural gas or oil, the electricity price from a nuclear power plant will be pretty stable. These advantages on cost will benefit both industry and people s living. A report from Mckinsey about energy in Japan shows that after the Fukushima accident, because of the shutdown of nuclear power plants, household electricity prices have increased by more than 50% from 10 в‚µ/kWh to 16в‚µ/kWh. However, he skillfully connects verses and cantos to each other throughout the books, adding meaning and depth to his story. The Bible also contains verses that relate to other books within its pages. Dante reinforces his status as a Christian author by emulating the model of the religion s holy text. An example of interconnectedness in Dante s work can be found in the third canto of each of the books in the Divine Comedy: Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso. He uses various elements to connect these cantos together and increase potential analysis and meaning of the text. In Emily BrontГ« s Wuthering Heights, several characters emotions are overtaken by revenge thus leading them to suffer in the end. Revenge grows early in the novel. It begins with the hate that Hindley Earnshawholds for Heathcliff, an orphan who has been taken in by Hindley s father, Mr. Earnshaw. Later in the novel, Heathcliff s love of his life, Catherine Earnshaw, marries Edgar Linton which as one can imagine becomes devastating for Heathcliff. This sense of betrayal causes Heathcliff to seek revenge on the Lintons and Earnshaws. Ultimately, Heathcliff becomes the character that is mainly driven by the strong desire for revenge. The novel demonstrates how revenge seems to be the easiest method for gaining fulfillment, but it time disturbs the characters peace of mind and becomes the root of their downfall. Hindley Earnshaw is the first character in the novel that obtains the desire for revenge. Early in the book Mr. Earnshaw takes a trip to Liverpool during the time Catherine and Hindley were still children. He then returns with Heathcliff who was an orphan from the streets. As he continues to live in the Earnshaw household, Mr. Earnshaw grows love for Heathcliff, similar to Catherine who also begins to grow a relationship with him. So, from the very beginning, he bred bad feeling in the house implies that Mr, Earnshaw s strong favoritism for Heathcliff becomes a major threat for Hindley (33). This means that Heathcliff may become the new man of the house which would make Hindley very upset. Mr. Earnshaw s demonstration of love for Heathcliff causes Hindley to gain jealousy and makes him take his anger out on Heathcliff. He has been blaming our father (how dared he?) for treating H. too liberally; and swears he will reduce him to his right place fully indicates that Hindley feels anger towards his father for bringing Heathcliff into their home (19). It seems that Hindley feels that he is not receiving the attention he deserves from his own father and instead Heathcliff, who is not even Mr. Earnshaw s biological son, is Mr. Earnshaw s only priority.
