Half Term Three Focus: Differentiation
Key Idea: Differentiated feedback
Ways you can do this in your classroom:
• Students self or peer assess their work and then highlight a specific part they
would like close feedback on when you collect in their books to check them.
• Use codes in your marking and students need to ‘break the code’ to work out
what their strengths and improvements are. This could be linked to the success
criteria.
• Students use sticky notes to ask a question about something they were unsure
of when completing a task and this can be addressed in feedback.
• Use questions in your feedback to support and stretch students’ thinking.
• When responding to feedback, group students according to their improvements
so that they can support each other and you can provide focused guidance to
specific groups, where necessary.
