Key Idea: Silent Starters
Silent starter tasks encourage students to work independently at the beginning of a lesson,
allowing time for you to circulate the room from the outset to ensure all students are
meeting your high expectations.
Ways you can do this in your classroom:
There are a range of different tasks on the following slides, all of which can be
adapted to make them subject specific.
