Starting our trip to Romania we were all, students and teachers, nervous but also curious for what we would run into when we reached Caracal. We travelled from Ioannina to Thessaloniki by bus, then flew to Athens and finally to Bucharest. There we were greeted by two of the Romanian teachers who took us to a park where we visited a museum and walked around until we got hungry and had a break to eat something. Finally after spending sometime waiting we continued our trip to Caracal exhausted. When we reached the small town its kids was welcomed by its host with whom he went to the house where he would stay for the next 7 days. After eating dinner some kids went out to have fun and others

2. Starting our trip to Romania we were all,
students and teachers, nervous but also curious

Caracal. We travelled from Ioannina to

Day 1

3. Monday morning we went to school with our host guys and we
were welcomed by the kids and the principal.
Then we visited the school's classes and were given some
information about each one of them. Some icebreaker
activities followed which were really funny.
Then we visited the theater.
We watched a performance of traditional dances by some
professional dancers.
It was amazing
We returned home where we had dinner and then hang out all
together
It was real fun!
Day 2

4. The day began with the visit to two factories
located in the nearby area. The first one
belonged to a company called “Romanita” and
was a cloth factory. In that way, as we were
invited to see the working places and the
factory machinery we actually saw all the
proceedings needed for the creation of clothes
or other materials related to cloth. The second
factory we visited was one of the factories of
the company “Yazaki” which was associated
with the production of wire harnesses. In that
factory we saw the complexity of wires and the
connections needed to create an electric
machine and also where all those harnesses
were required. When we visited it, the factory
was producing wires for cars.
Day 3

5. As a result, by observing the factory working place and by inquiring the staff in both factories we
got significant information about the two plants and we compared the information realizing the
common elements in the working conditions in factories.
Moreover, when we returned to school we took part in various activities, for example in a pottery
workshop in which we had to paint vessels in our own liking. That activity was one the most
exceptional acts we did that day because through it we expressed ourselves with the painting of
the vessels creating amazing pieces of art. It was a lot of fun!
Finally, at the afternoon we had were given the remaining day free to spend with our friends.
Each one of us spent the day by going out with his/her foreign classmates, seeing a movie, going
for shopping etc. It was one the most amazing activity-day we had in the Erasmus+ program.
Day 3

6. During the Erasmus+ student exchange
program we left from Caracal, where
families who hosted us were living and
went to Brasov. We started the morning of
Wednesday at 5 o’clock. After 5 hours in
the road we reached our destination.
Initially we visited one of the Castles-
Palaces of the area and then we went to
Adventure Park. After that we went to the
hotel, got dressed and we went to the Hotel
restaurant for dinner. Finally, we went to
the disco of the hotel and then we returned
to our rooms to sleep.
Day 4

7. The 5th day of the Erasmus program began at
our hotel in Brasov. We woke up around half
past seven because at 8 o’clock we all had to be
ready. We had breakfast at the hotel and then
we headed straight to the city center where we
had free time. We formed small groups in order
to explore the local shops and stores. At around
1 o’clock we left the city, returned to the hotel for
the last time in order to have a three-course
lunch. Last but not least, we went to the
Dracula’s castle. It was pretty huge with a
significant amount of hidden passages and
stairs. Every single room had very interesting
and old showpieces. Heading towards the
meeting point where the bus would pick us up
we encountered a lot of salesmen who were
selling local products. The Dracula’s castle was
the last stop of our 2-day trip to Brasov. Around
10 pm we arrived at Caracal and everybody,
being exhausted, went home with our hosts.
Day 5

8. Today was the last day of the program. We started making a special food, each team from its
country. All those dishes were delicious. Then, we formed groups and we made a poster with
the advantages and disadvantages of a job, each group for the job they chose . We had a
BBQ at the yard with very tasty food. Last but not least, we went to the amphitheater for
some special presentations and then we left. The last night had to be special so we
organized a party in a very beautiful place. The end of the night was very emotional knowing
that the next day we had to say a very difficult word, “goodbye”.
Day 6

9. On Saturday the 23rd of April, the day of our trip
back to Ioannina, all kids had to wake up early
so they could salute their new Romanian friends
and then leave. Most of us shed a tear when we
understood what this departure meant for the
friendships we had made in the last few days.
We reached the airport of Bucharest by bus.
Each team left at a different time. The German
kids left first, then the French, the Spanish and
finally the Greek. Tears started falling again and
only stopped when we finally arrived at
Thessaloniki. A mini bus took us back to
Ioannina where we met up with our families with
whom we hadn’t talked face to face for a week!
The trip surely achieved most of the goals our
teachers had in mind and became a once-in-a-
lifetime experience for all of us!
