Last week was an opportunity for students to mix cultures through the Comenius program. Over the course of the week, the students presented their school, made art projects together, visited sites in Rome like the Vatican and Colosseum, went shopping, and received certificates before saying emotional goodbyes at the airport. The week allowed for friendships to form between students from different countries through shared experiences.

Our Visit in Poland

2) During their week-long trip, they met and stayed with Polish partner students, visited local schools and museums, created frescoes at an art institute, socialized with students from Sweden and France, and experienced Polish culture and cuisine.
3) They had an especially fun and memorable time and were sad to say goodbye, but were grateful for the opportunity to learn from such a wonderful exchange program.

The coordinator traveled there with students and experienced some flight issues but an enjoyable welcome at the hotel. They spent a day at a school where teachers and families made them feel like part of the community through music, food, and activities. Later in the week they toured Rome, including Ostia and a nighttime limousine tour, and the coordinator was happy to see students bonding with Italian peers. They thanked their hosts for the incredible experience.

On Monday, Comenius students from multiple countries visited schools and factories in Brescia, Italy. They toured Abba Ballini High School, a tap factory that produces taps, and took a boat ride on Lake Iseo where they had lunch. On Tuesday, they worked on advertising projects for their high school and were given tours of historic buildings and cathedrals in Brescia. They also visited an exhibit of Stradivarius instruments. Austria Meeting, made by Hungarian students
Eladio Ciriaco Romero from Italy spent a week in Pettenbach, Austria as part of the ERASMUS+ program. During the week he visited the school Robin attended, exploring the classrooms and playing games. He met other Erasmus students from Spain and was able to speak Spanish with them. Eladio also visited an ice cave at 1,500 meters, played in the snow at 2,400 meters, and walked suspended footpaths with stunning views. On the final day of his trip, Eladio toured Salzburg, seeing Mozart's house, the Danube River, and Salzburg Castle before enjoying Starbucks.

Our trip to Norway involved traveling from Bilbao to Oslo, where we stayed and visited the local school, Flatestad skole. We saw various areas of the school including classrooms, computer labs, and indoor rock climbing. We also played games and worked on presentations to get to know each other. Later in Oslo, we went to a traditional restaurant, saw a large tiger statue, and toured sites like the Vigeland Sculpture Park. The trip provided experiences of Norwegian culture and school life.

Drenea Cristina Maria is a 14-year-old girl from Romania who participated in the Erasmus+ European project in Istanbul, Turkey in December 2019 with her school. Over five days, she visited cultural sites, tried traditional foods, and formed strong friendships with her Turkish host family and other students. Erasmus experience Istanbul By Maria Drenea
Drenea Cristina Maria is a 14-year-old girl from Romania who participated in the Erasmus+ European project in Istanbul, Turkey in December 2019 with her school. Over five days, she visited cultural sites, tried traditional foods, and formed strong friendships with her Turkish host family and other students. THE TWO SNOW WHITE THE SEVEN DWARFS’ INTERVIEW - Team A
Snow White (Beatriz and Silvia) are interviewed by the Seven Dwarfs (Aymara, Iman, Diego, and Ricardo) about their roles in a Comenius project called "The Voices from the Land". Beatriz is a teacher who works closely with Silvia, the project coordinator. Both say this is their first Comenius project but that it is a positive learning experience that allows them to meet friends from different countries and learn about other cultures through English. Silvia and Beatriz say they would like to participate in more Comenius projects to give students more opportunities to learn about other people and cultures.

Alonso Berruguete (c. 1488 – 1561) was a highly influential Spanish sculptor of the Renaissance period. He was considered the most important sculptor of the Spanish Renaissance, known for his emotive religious sculptures depicting ecstasy or torment. Berruguete studied art under his father initially, then traveled to Italy to further his study under Michelangelo. When he returned to Spain, he was appointed court painter and sculptor to King Charles V, after which he focused primarily on sculpture. Some of his most prominent works included sculptures for the Irish College in Salamanca and choir stalls at the Cathedral of Toledo.

Comenius letter from Italy
- 1. Dear diary, Last week was very fun and it was an opportunity to mix our different cultures. The first day when we met the foreigners it was very exciting especially for the pupils who already went to the first two meetings in Turkey and in Spain. At the first time we were shy with our Comenius friends After 1 day we made friendship with our Comenius friends. On Tuesday we presented our school to our new friends and after we did a little theatre show : Pinocchio. For lunch we made a big buffet and it was very delicious On Wednesday we went to Castel Porziano and we made some artworks with sticks, leaves , rocks, pinecones and grass. The next day we went to Vatican City. We visited the museum gallery, Cappella Sistina and we ate outside. And for finishing the day we ate a very good ice cream. On Friday we had a tour of Rome and we visited many monuments such as Colosseum Fori Imperiali Campidoglio and Fontana of Trevi .
- 2. And in the afternoon we went shopping and we bought souvenirs . In the evening we went to teachers’ hotel (Aris Garden hotel) where we received Comenius certificates to congratulate us for participating in the project Comenius The following day, in the morning Latvian girls left Italy And with the rest of the Comenius friends went to Ostia Antica. In Ostia we visited the forum an o the port of Ostia where we played outside with “the ice.” And the auditorium . Sunday was the greeting’s day. In the morning we brought our friends to the airport for their departure moment. It was very emotional. But we will continued to write to them forever. And we will bring in our heart forever this beautiful experience. Lots of love, Istituto Aristide Leonori.
