6. First day
I'm not going to lie, it was a really tiring but wonderful day.
After meeting with the host family in Göen Hotel, at 11:30,
we went to the Asian side of Istanbul. On the way, Nehir, the
girl at who I stayed (a lovely, smart, beautiful, kind
teenager), told me about Turkish history and Istanbul
monuments. I enjoyed every moment we spoke to each other,
despite the fact that I was exhausted !!! I really liked the
ferry, because I fed it the seagulls who, without hesitation,
asked us indirectly for food, flying past us; I admired the
view and the many, enchanting, extravagant buildings in
Istanbul. In the Asian part I ate the best brownie in existence,
drank traditional Turkish tea and admired the Turkish market.
I ate chestnuts for the first time, they were really delicious!
I’m so happy to find out that I share passions with Nehir,
such as cooking and drawing, but also English, with the help
of we formed a strong, friendly bond. More pictures are in
the following slides☺
7. Second day
The next day, like the first and the ones that
followed, was wonderful. My favorite part, honestly,
was from 12:30 to 14:00, where I had the opportunity
to take part in a traditional Turkish meal, where I
appreciated the most well-known and delicious
baklava. After completing various activities from that
day, together with my friends, Nehir and the children
in the families their host, I went to the Mall of
Istanbul, where I bought some souvenirs and we felt
good; we laughed, we ate (this time not traditional
food, but kfc☺), we walked, we admired the musical
instruments in the shops. In short, it was a perfect
day! Here are my friends, talking with our teachers
before lunch:
8. Third day
It was a very fun day. honestly, I liked the museum
the most miniature tourist attractions in nature,
Miniatürk. It was so different from everything I've
seen so far...! I tried kebab for the first time; It's not
my favorite, but I can't he says I dislike it. It is
certainly a delicious dish, but due to the fact that it
was new, I was surprised by its unique taste. I would
love to eat more, though! I didn't go out after
finishing activities. I stayed with Nehir until quite
late; We talked, we laughed, we drew and watched a
movie. Her mother was very attentive, she offered us
drinks and popcorn. I translated my old videos from
my childhood, and we had a lot of fun watching
them! I appreciated that she is patient and funny.
Look at us at Miniatürk:
9. Fourth day
It was very exhausting. I walked very, very
much☺.However, I visited a few wonderful
places, full of history and information related to
the culture of this wonderful place; to The bazaar
was interesting; At first I was amazed by the size
of the place, I even got lost a few times, but I got
used to it in the meantime, and I was impressed by
the fact that the sellers knew little Romanian! At
the meeting with the Minister of Education we
were given a diploma. It was an honor to talk to
him and take a picture together! It would be a
great pleasure for me to have the opportunity to
meet him again!
10. Fifth day
This was the last day ... we said goodbye, with
difficulty, to the host families, which I will
miss forever. I really liked Istanbul. It was a
wonderful experience. I had the chance to visit
new places, to improve my English, to enrich
my culture, to make new friends and learn
many, interesting things. I can't wait to go
back! I am grateful to this European project,
Erasmus +, for offering this unique opportunity
in life!
