MEANING
 Diagnostic test is a test designed to locate specific
learning deficiencies in case of individual at a particular
stage of learning so that specific efforts could be made to
overcome those deficiencies.
 These tests help us to identify the status of the learner at
the end of a particular lesson, unit or course-as to which
specific teaching or learning points have been properly
grasped by the learner.
 The correct answer shows his strength and wrong answer
indicates his weakness in that particular content .
 If deficiency is located in several students in a particular
content, it reflects upon whether something went wrong
with teacher’s method of teaching.
