1. Diagnostic Essay Examples
Writing an essay on the topic "Diagnostic Essay Examples" can prove to be quite challenging,
requiring a blend of analytical skills, critical thinking, and effective communication. The
difficulty lies in the need to not only showcase your ability to express thoughts coherently but
also to demonstrate a clear understanding of the diagnostic essay genre.
To begin with, understanding the essence of a diagnostic essay is crucial. It is not just about
presenting facts or personal opinions but about assessing one's own writing skills and areas for
improvement. Crafting an essay that effectively fulfills this purpose involves introspection and
self-analysis, which can be a daunting task for some.
Moreover, finding relevant examples to support your points can be challenging. You may need to
delve into various sources, analyze different writing styles, and carefully select examples that
highlight both strengths and weaknesses in writing. The challenge is not only in locating suitable
examples but also in presenting them in a coherent and persuasive manner.
Structuring the essay can be another hurdle. Balancing the introduction, body, and conclusion
while maintaining a logical flow of ideas requires careful planning. Juggling the technical aspects
of essay writing with the need for self-evaluation adds an extra layer of complexity.
Additionally, maintaining objectivity can be challenging. When assessing your own writing,
there is a risk of bias, either overly praising or harshly critiquing without a fair evaluation.
Striking the right balance and providing constructive feedback to oneself is a skill that requires
practice.
In conclusion, writing an essay on "Diagnostic Essay Examples" demands a comprehensive
understanding of the diagnostic essay genre, effective analysis, and the ability to critically
evaluate one's own writing. It involves navigating through the complexities of self-assessment
and constructing a well-organized, insightful piece. If you find yourself struggling with such
tasks, it's worth considering seeking assistance. Similar essays and more can be ordered on

2. The Impact Of Television On The World Of The 20th
Century...
One of the most successful inventions of the 20th Century is the Television. Many
describe Television as a way to connect with the wider world, with some even going
as far as to use the device to escape from everyday life for an hour or two. Now,
thanks to increasing technological developments, this escape can be made
considerably easier with the introduction of mobile TV the use of Smartphones,
tablets, and arguably most prominently, computers and laptops, bringing with it the
expansion of online Televisionservices such as Netflix.
The reason for exceptional developments in Television can be based off of the large
growth in technology, and thus has led to an increased demand from its viewers.
Despite the immense popularity with computer gaming and the Internet, Television
still remains the most popular medium in New Zealand. However, before the likes
of Netflix, there were no online providers. TV consumers outnumbered online
users for years after the initial developments, as content was better on a Television
rather than online due to the lack of variety and services available digitally over
the Internet. Consumers watched Television for the escape from reality for an hour
or two, and this was unavailable on a computer as there were no websites or
Networks offering the content users wanted. A Nielsen study in 2012 on the media
devices owned by people showed that 290 Million Americans (or around 92%)
owned at least one Television, compared to 192 Million Americans that

I ll kill ya, the words rattled my body and I felt my knees collapse beneath me. The

allow him to move. At that moment, my perfectly orchestrated plan crashed into a

sheer terror. My father advanced upon me, and my face conceded to the impact of
his fist. A tirade of bottled up anger flew out of his whiskey smelling mouth with
phrases I would never repeat as long as I lived. Eventually fatigue triumphed over
his punches, and he stumbled out of the room to chug down a bottle of whiskey.

my baby sister up; I did not want to do this alone. With the geranium in one hand
and little Ida in the other, I trudged behind the dump, through the woods, and into
the pasture. After scouting out the right place, our four little hands scooped up the

5. An Analysis of the Epic Poem, Beowulf
Characterization of Beowulf
The dialogue, action and motivation revolve about the characters in the poem
(Abrams 32 33). It is the purpose of this essay to demonstrate the types of characters
present in the anonymously written Anglo Saxon poem, Beowulf whether static or
dynamic, whether flat or round, and whether protrayed through showing or telling.
At the very outset of the poem the reader is introduced, through telling by the scop, to
Scyld Scefing, forefather of the Danish ruling dynasty:
Oft Scyld the Scefing from squadroned foes,
from many a tribe, the mead bench tore,
awing the earls. Since erst he lay
friendless, a foundling, fate repaid him:

The next character which the narrator introduces is the chief antagonist of the poem

to fashion evils, that field of hell.
Grendel this monster grim was called,

Vitus Bering, a Dane working for the Russians, and Alexei Chirikov discovered the

Alaska equal to one fifth of the continental U.S. was unexplored in 1867 when
Secretary of State William Seward arranged for its purchase from the Russians for
$7,200,000. The transfer of the territory took place on Oct. 18, 1867. Despite a price
of about two cents an acre, the purchase was widely ridiculed as Seward s Folly. The
first official census (1880) reported a total of 33,426 Alaskans, all but 430 being of
aboriginal stock. The Gold Rush of 1898 resulted in a mass influx of more than

9. Analysis Of Flash-Dance
The movie Flash dance incorporates atmospherics to control the direction of light, as
well as to create a more visually intriguing movie. The opening scene uses steam,
smoke, and fog to emphasize the environment these characters live in and to highlight
the element of water that is present throughout most of the film. Moreover, in the
opening scene the choice of using a wet ground really helped in reflecting the light
and picking up highlights, this added depth to the scene. Firstly, while watching the
film I observed the scenes with heavy amounts of atmospherics had limited amounts
of light in them, verses the scenes without atmospherics. For example, in the scenes
with rain the lighting was much dimmer and concentrated. This is in direct contrast
to the bright showy lighting that was featured in the bar and club scenes, and even
during the workout montage. Furthermore, in the introduction welding scene the use
of atmospherics helped in mimicking the appearance of a rock n roll concert. For
example, this look was created through fog, red flashing... Show more content on

In addition to this the use of heavy amounts of red light and blue light was quite
noticeable for the bar scene as well, especially highlighted in the dance
performances. Moreover, the light was not only red and blue in color but the visual of
a single red or blue light bulb was depicted several times throughout the film. With
this single concentrated light source in the scene, it drew the audiences attention to
specific areas in the scene and moved the eye around the set. Another lighting
technique used in flash dance during some of the scenes was top light. This technique
worked really well, especially in the ballet scenes where harsh shadows from the top
light accentuated the physicality and movement of the dance. Also the lighting
technique of spotlight was used during the cooks comedy routine at the

#######poorly written######Pozzo s Triumph of Saint Ignatius of Loyola is on
the ceiling of the Church of Sant Ignazio in Rome, and was painted from 1685
1694. It is approximately 56 feet by 115 feet across the ceiling, and uses a
quadratura perspective to create an almost three dimensional effect. While the effect
makes the center look much higher, it is actually painted on an arched ceiling called
a barrel vault. This is a frescopainting, a type of coloring that made the painting
integral to the construction of the building or item. Inside the Church of Sant
Ignazio, there is a single white tile indicating where the viewer is intended to stand
to truly appreciate Pozzo s work. The scene illustrates many different saints and other
highly viewed people, all ascending towards the sky. There is also allegorical figures
of the 4 continents (America, Europe, Africa, and Asia) attached to the side of the
buildings windows at the base of the painting. The scene is filled with cherubs that
seem to be aiding the continents and saints. At the center of the painting, Saint
Ignatius is following Christ into heaven, with beams of light coming from his body
towards the four continents. The arches at the ends of the painting also add to the
illusion that the center of the painting is much higher than the rest of it. Saint Francis
Xavieris also shown in the work ascending towards the heavens.

The debate on cursive writing, how important is it?
Although cursive writing seems like a thing of the past, many people debate if it
should stay there or not. Writing by hand does have a lot of benifits, not many of
therm do people associate writing by hand with. Although it has been proven to be
good for our minds, there is still a lot of contreversy over the subject.
I agree with the article supporting cursive writing for the following reasons. Writing
by hand, especially in cursive, is very benificial to our memory. More people who
write in cursive remember ideas better as opposed to those who type. Hand writing
verse typing allows people to process the material given to them better. During a
research study, students who took

13. Examination And Examination Of The Anterior Cruciate
Ligament
Health History: A 25 year old male injured his left knee in a recent skiing accident.
The patient stated that he lost his balance because the inner edge of his right ski got
caught while skiing. This resulted in the right leg being externally rotated followed
by and audible pop as he lost footing. By evening, the right kneejoint had become
swollen, causing intense pain. The primary care physician referred the case to an
orthopedist.
Presentation and Examination: The knee anterior drawer test is a commonly used
during orthopedic examinations to evaluate the integrity of the anterior cruciate
ligament (ACL). The test is conducted with the patient supine; hips and knees are
flexed at a 45 and 90 degree angles with feet flat on the table. While holding the calf
distal to the knee joint pulling suddenly away from the patient tests the anterior
drawer while pushing back tests the posterior drawer. In this case, the positive
anterior drawer test indicated ACL damage.
Diagnosis: Results from the orthopedic exam indicated two torn ligaments. The
medial collateral ligament (MCL), which originates at the medial femoral epicondyle
and inserts at the periosteum of proximal tibia, deep to the pes anserine and the ACL
which originates on the Lateral wall of the intercondylar notch at its posterior aspect

14. Psychological And Sociological Factors Of Stress
Introduction
Stress is defined as any situation which tends to disturb the equilibrium between a
living organism and its environment 1. Equilibrium is restored through biological
actions such as hormone secretion which lead to physiological changes that
prepare one for the fight or flight response. As a junior doctor, Mark is exposed
every day to many stressors such as death, suffering and long hours. There are also
many psychological and sociological factors in the work environment which can
further impact Mark s stress. It is therefore vitally important for new junior doctors
like Mark to be able to manage their stress and ask for help if they are unable to cope.

CRF is the main regulator of the hypothalamic pituitary adrenal (HPA) axis and is
secreted by the paraventricular nucleus (PVN) of the hypothalamus4. It is released
into the anterior posterior gland where it binds to receptors on pituitary corticotropes
which stimulate the release of ACTH. ACTH mainly targets the adrenal cortex where
it stimulates production of glucocorticoids5 by increasing RNA, DNA and protein
synthesis3.
The second wave is slower and involves steroid hormones, such as glucocorticoids2,
more specifically cortisol in humans5. Glucocorticoids bind to glucocorticoid
receptors which are found in the majority of tissues3. Thus they have a wide range of
targets and actions, and so regulate metabolic, cardiovascular, immune and
behavioural processes2. One which is relevant to responding to stress is the target of
the adrenal medulla which when targeted increases PMNT expression and activity
which stimulates epinephrine synthesis3. Another important target is the liver where
the effect is an increased expression of gluconeogenic enzymes3 which helps to
increase metabolic activity. The heart is also a target where the effect is increased
contractility3.
Acute stress can also lead to secretion of other hormones. Vasopressin, or antidiuretic
hormone, is rapidly released from the PVN of the hypothalamus1. Its role is to help
15. Bibliography on Globalization and Health
Globalization and Health Globalization has had a huge effect on health, both
positive and negative. Because of increased mobility due to globalization, health
professionals are able to cross borders with stunning speed in order to deliver care
and patients in need of certain treatments have benefited from the ability to leave
their country for care. The Internet makes it easier to alert the relevant authorities
to the outbreak of a disease and to share information on health issues. However,
globalization has had negative effects on health as well. When the Europeans first
traveled and colonized the world, they brought with them terrible diseases, killing
over 90% of the population. The Aztec, Maya, and Inca tribes were the most
affected by these diseases. International travel and globalization has brought many
diseases, previously native to certain countries, all over the world. For example,
Chagas Disease, a disease spread by insects brought over from Mexican
immigrants, has infected more than 500,000 citizens of America. Illegal drug trade,
another result of globalization, is also having a negative effect on health. Another
negative effect of globalization is the recognition of medical degrees of less
developed countries by developed countries. Young medical professionals from less
developed countries finish their training in developed nations and tend to stay to
develop their careers and raise their families. This drains less developed countries of
needed health care

energy, excluding ecological impact. Unlike solar and wind, it requires minimal
extraction of metals from the earth and unlike nuclear and fossil fuel it creates no
negative byproducts.
There are two main typed of hydroelectric dams. One version uses the natural flow of
the water to spin a turbine and generate electricity and is significantly less
ecologically damaging than its counterpart, the gravity dam. A gravity dam spins a
turbine by using gravitational energy to transport water from the top of the dam to
the bottom and the massive push of water generates large amounts of electricity.
These are the types of dams that are most familiar when considering hydroelectric
power generation however they alter the flow of the entire river and can cause many
other problems.
Flood Control
A third advantage of dam building is the fact that they tame the river so as to
prevent flooding due to the fact that the amount of water flowing out of the base of
the dam can be controlled quite precisely. To most, this notion seems reasonable but
to the raging conservationist, the river is meant to be something that is untamed
and allowed to flow free and wild. There are 15 dams on the Colorado River alone
and every cubic foot is metered so as to prevent the intense flooding that is
historically supposed to occur every spring[4]. The flooding that occurs seasonally on
many rivers is vital to maintain certain river bank ecosystems; however, it is
extremely devastating to the communities that

Violence in the workplace has become a major safety and health issue. Workplace
violence is not limited to homicide. This type of violence includes behaviors and
circumstances that threaten an employee s physical safety; such as: verbal threats,
sexual or physical harassment, coercion, behavior changes, intimidation, stalking,
telephone/email harassment, and history of aggression. Workplace violence
incidents have tripled in the last decade, and it is now the fastest growing category
of murder in the United States. It is also the second leading cause of death for
women in the workplace (Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2016). The United States

importance of recognizing personal insults and threats and notifying management of

violence such as: an individual who have difficulty getting along with others, making
inappropriate remarks, always upset about everything and everyone. Also, there are
individual who the company and employee have no clue about because the
perpetrator is an outsider, not an employee of the organization. In this incidence, it is
quite difficult to identify the potential threat. Therefore, the organization must have a

organization will better assist that company in the scope of recognizing and avoid
potential workplace violence occurrences.

Emmy Noether was born on March 23, 1882 in Erlangen, Germany. Her real name
is Amalie but she was always called Emmy. She was the oldest of four children but
one of only two that survived childhood. Growing up she was always around math
because her father, Max Noether, was a noted mathematician of his time. Emmy didn
t grow up interested in math like her father, instead, she wanted to study language.
Her main focus was French and English. Around the time of her high school
graduation, she passed a test that allowed her to teach those two languages at
schools for young women. At the age of 18, Emmy decided to take mathematic
classes at the University of Erlangen. The university refused to let Emmy take classes

near the Bryn Mawr s library. For her contributions to mathematics, Emmy s legacy
will always be remembered. In addition to research and teaching, Noether helped to
edit the Mathematische Annalen, a German mathematical journal which covers a
wide spectrum of modern mathematics. She was the focus of the strongest
mathematical activity at Gottingen. The length and significance of her work cannot
be carefully judged from her papers. Much of her work showed up in the publications
of her students and colleagues. Many times a suggestion or even a typical comment
revealed her great insight and encouraged another to complete and perfect some idea.
Noether and many other professors were dismissed in 1933 because the Nazis came
to power at that time. Later, in a letter to the New York Times, Albert Einstein wrote,
In judgement of the most competent living mathematicians, Fraulein Noether was the
most significant creative mathematical genius thus far produced since the higher
education of women began. For her contributions in Algebra, Physics, and common
mathematics in general, Emmy Noether s legacy will forever be remembered and

19. George Orwell s Animal Farm
George Orwell s allegorical fable, Animal Farm, published in 1945 illustrates how
power can corrupt people s thoughts and actions. This notion of authoritarianism is
displayed well through the characters, Mr Jones, Napoleon, Snowball and Squealer.
Whereas characters such as old Major, Boxer and Benjamin represent idealism.
Through the use a fictional farm animals as the main characters, Orwell is able to
make the story less confronting and show in a more simplistic way how absolute
power corrupts absolutely.
Animal Farm, representing the Russian revolution during 1917 in the premature
times of the Soviet Union, is in a way mimicked through farm animals representing
political personnel. Mr. Jones, the often drunk farm owner well known for mistreating

The Kingdom of Heaven is an epic film directed and produced by Ridley Scott, and
written by William Monahan, filmed in Morocco. The story of the Kingdom of
Heaven is set during the Crusades of the 12th century, and is basically about the life
of Balian, a French blacksmith, who defends the Kingdom of Jerusalem against the
Muslims and reclaims the city from the Christians. In this story, I could travel back
in time to experience life during the era of the Crusades.
To better understand the Kingdom of Heaven, it is important to know what the
Crusades were. The Crusades were a series of religious wars between Christians and
Muslims which started primarily to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nevertheless, these expeditions influenced great transformations in the medieval
world. They have weakened feudal aristocracy, strengthened royal power, and
made possible the expansion of the market. Eastern civilization contributed much
to European cultural enrichment, promoting intellectual development. Never
again was Jerusalem dominated by Christians, but the movements on the way to
the Holy Land expanded relationships with the known world at the time. The first
hour of Kingdom of Heaven is decisive for the rest of the film. It is in these
moments that we will meet Balian, a blacksmith who is devastated after he lost his
wife who had committed suicide. It is important to say that suicide was considered
to be an irredeemable sin, for example, the church believed suicide was a road to
hell. Balian has no prospects in life when he receives a visit from Baron Godfrey
of Ibelin. He introduces himself as Balian s father and invites him to become a
knight and defend Jerusalem, ruled by King Baldwin IV, who is a leper hidden
behind a mask of iron. Godfrey knows the difficult moment that Balian is going
through, so he introduces him to Jerusalem (presented in the film as the new world
where love exists instead of hate, a multi ethnic city, sacred to three religions,
strategic gateway to the East and to the West) as a journey of redemption in which
his son will redeem himself of his sins and he will save the soul of the suicidal wife.

Uses of Virtualisation in Operating Systems
Virtualisation in operating systems is a wide ranging subject relating to many topics
within operating systems. Waldspurger and Rosenblum define virtualisation in their
article I/O virtualization as decoupling the logical from the physical, introducing a
level of indirection between the abstract and the concrete. [1] In this essay I will
briefly outline some of the many types of Virtualisation as well as talk about benefits
and limitations virtualisation in general.
Due to the term virtualisation referring to so many different areas within operating
system, talking about the History of this topic is very hard. In Modern Operating
Systems, Andrew Tanenbaum states visualization, which is more than 40 years old
[6]. This book was published in 2009, implying that virtualisation started roughly in
the 1969. However, spooling which is an example of I/O virtualisation existed in
IBMs SPOOL system. IBM copyrighted the SPOOL system in 1960 suggesting
Virtualisation started on or before the 1960s [7]. From the context of Tanenbaum s

history of computers more virtualisation techniques have been invented from

22. Horror The Supernatural Genre Essay
Horror The Supernatural Genre Horror is an ancient genre, it roots lodged in ancient
myth and folklore. Since then the genre has evolved, even sometimes doing without
elements of the supernatural on which the original horror stories where founded.
Despite the emergence of natural horror, horror which incorporates elements of the
supernatural still remains superior. While horror can be successful using only natural
circumstances, horror that utilizes elements of the supernatural evokes a more
effective response from the reader. A Rose for Emily is a good example of horror
which contains no supernatural elements. While pieces of the story contain the
unusual or violate societal taboos the story conforms very much to the way in... Show

An overriding element which makes the story so effective is the use of the
supernatural, which allows Lovecraft to create beings to terrible to exist in the
world we know. Throughout the story pervades a sense of the unknown, of some
ancient mystery which mortal man should never venture to know. The story evicts
a visceral sense of horror from the reader, one of realization of what might happen
if such things were ever to exist. While any sane person would never claim that a
giant god from the stars will ever rise out of the ocean to destroy the world, the
reader can nonetheless envision such a horrific event. The Call of Cthulu shows how
effective the supernatural can be in horror. Another excellent Lovecraft story that
incorporates the supernatural is Nyarlathotep. The plot centers on the arrival of
Nyarlathotep, a modern day prophet who throws the world into madness. The entire
basis for the story is the supernatural, the predestined end of man which comes
bellowing out of the depths of antiquity. While short in length the story nevertheless
manages to build a sense of dread before Lovecraft unleashes the terrible truth of
Nyarlathotep s purpose upon the reader. Unlike The Call of Cthulu Nyarlathotep
ends with evil succeeding, in the world being engulfed by unspeakable horrors. The
tale truly grabs the reader with a pervading
24. Body Cameras And The Law Enforcement Officers
In todays society, American citizens are unpleased with the law enforcement
officers. These officers are here protecting the people of America, and to get the
people doing the wrong things off the street so the rest of the people can be safe. In
the past few months, there have been shootings of American citizens, and shootings
of law enforcement officers. The people of society are only seeing the bad side of
policeofficers, and never understand the whole story when needed to be heard. As
the internet continues to expand, the promises it makes is beyond human
understanding (Carr 56). The internet and television are the most complex form of
technology, and only portray the bad side of cops. The idea of multimedia is to
combine text, sound, and pictures in a single package that you browse on screen
(Gelernter 97). The idea of body cameras put in the uniforms of the law enforcement
officers has been talked about, so that everyone can see the exact truth of the
situation. The idea of body cameras for the law enforcement officers has it benefits
and drawbacks. I think having the body cameras will greatly benefit the law
enforcement officers in society today and in the future.
To begin with, allowing body cameras as a part of a law enforcement officers
uniform would be beneficial to the police officer. A benefit of having body cameras
is decreasing complaints filed against police officers. One of the most favored
advantages brought about by body cameras is the noticeable
25. Fundamental Differences Between Strong Mayor And...
Discuss the fundamental differences between weak mayor, strong mayor and
council manager forms of government. In the United States of America, there are
two forms of government that most cities adhere to, Mayor Council and Council
Manager. However, there is a third form of government that a smaller few adhere
to call the commission. Moreover, approximately 59% of the cities in the United
States utilize the Council Manager form of government; conversely 33% utilize
the Mayor Council form of government, which means the remaining 8% more than
likely utilize the commission form of government. Council Manager Government
In the State of Texas, the Council Manager form of government is preferred by all
of the major cities, except for Houston who prefer the Mayor Council form of
government. Under the Council Manager form of government, the voters are at
the top of the hierarchical structure. In this capacity, the voters elect a small City
Council, including a mayor, who is the presiding officer over the City Council.
Although the Mayor is symbolically the Head of State , he or she is not the head
of government. The Mayor and City Council have the authority to appoint four of
the city s government officials: the City Manager, the City Attorney, the City
Clerk and the Municipal Judge (some cities elect this position). Moreover,
although weak in this form of government, the Mayor has a vote on many issues
impacting the city; however, lacks any type of veto authority (except in a few
cities), which means that laws are passed by on a majority rule voting system of
the total City Council Members, meaning all City Council Members must vote in
order to pass a law. Most importantly, the Mayor and City Council primary role lies
in the establishment of a strategic vision for the city. Once this is accomplished, the
Mayor and the City Council are responsible for generating a strong mission
statement that aligns with a set of clear goals, resulting in effective government
policy guidance for execution by the City Manager to run the city. Collectively, the
Mayor and City Council hire the City Manager who has full management authority,
to execute the Mayor s and City Council s vision for the city. However, a City
26. Argumentative Essay On Night By Elie Wiesel
There has always been great activists, some are professors, such as Elie Wiesel but
most importantly,, we are human beings and part of a community. Being able to
help is to stand up for others beliefs in religion, culture, race and most of all
political views. For that, i do agree with Elie, i want to believe in a place that a
human being is more important than social standards. Many injustices have
happened, one of the most horrific events in history would be the Holocaust, but
over time we learn how to get the attention to help change any situation, like the
day president Trump was sworn in, everyone thought that we would be made
unimportant, put aside, and that is the reason why protests for women s and
immigrants rights were conducted. During the holocaust, many Jews were
persecuted, killed and tortured because of their religion and it kept happening for
years, but sadly no one ever did anything about it and millions of lives were lost.
Mr. Elie Wiesel was one of the brave survivors of such a horrid event. He had hope
that someone, anyone would come with help and him and his family would get to go
home safely. However, during this period of time, believes were different and the
people had less rights, therefore they couldn t... Show more content on

27. British Immigration After 1945
Immigration became a significant part of society in the post war period, it redefined
the public s perception regarding culture and attitudes in society. Despite this, it is
worth noting that immigration was not a new phenomenon in 1945. Britain had
welcomed refugees in the past, notably the Irish who became one of the largest
groups throughout the 20th century. Many Europeans also sought refuge in Britain,
for example German refugees who fled to Britain in 1930 ; Peter Fryer notes on the
existing black community in Britain since the 16th century. However, the level of
immigration after 1945 was enough to redefine British culture and created an
exclusive national identity by where Britishness is now recognised through the colour
of your skin. Race as a concept has also transformed, with culture being a major
element in British society. Politics has also had a major influence, with the
introduction of immigration laws bringing equality among Britain s citizens, although
this could highlight the opinions of the public with the need for legislation to be
introduced. The economy thrived with immigration, noting on the Windrush which
allowed the empty gaps in employment to be filled. However, despite the progress
that has been made due to immigration, the reaction of the people wasn t always as
positive, subsequently leading to racial tensions and a lack of respect among the
people for immigration. These aspects are very significant when discussing the
development of
28. The Meaning Of Art
For many individuals collecting and viewing art might be thought of as a favorite
hobby or past time. Individuals might be seen at a local art museum just gazing at
a piece of art, exhibiting almost signs of being in a trance of deep thought as one
stands front and center, not moving for what seems to be an endless amount of
time. The reason for such an appreciation for art, might be what it represents. Lisa
Marder writes, Art can be thought of as a symbol of what it means to be human,
manifested in physical form for others to see and interpret. It can serve as a symbol
for something that is tangible, or for a thought, an emotion, a feeling, or a concept.
Through peaceful means, it can convey the full spectrum of the human experience.
(Marder, 2017, para. 28). Meaning, art really has the ability to express many things
and perspectives, which can also be represented in various shapes, sizes, and forms
such as, drawings, sculptures, paintings, etc. With that being said, art is not only
about the message that is being conveyed, but also a significance placed upon how
the message is conveyed. There is a lot of thought and precision that goes into
creating such art, that will enhance the message being conveyed; form and
composition, material and technique, the lines, color, and texture, space and
perspective, and proportion and scale. It is that same thought and precision that went
into the 1941 creation of John Steuart Curry s, Our Good Earth (Kevernacular, 2014).

The Perfect Family of the 1950s Versus the Present Time of Families
Is it worth going back to the 1950s and experience the workplace of woman and
men going to War or staying in the present time. Many people in today s society see
the morals and values of the past of the fifties. Nevertheless, the fifties had its nuclear
family to where everyone was set for in life already. The woman became
homemakers and men worked at an occupation. In the 1950s men were going to
War, so the mother had to do both work and raise the family. However, after the War

past to the present time of the 1950s the culture has changed. The woman finally got
rights to do more activities now then it was in the fifties. Therefore, people have
opinions to go back to the past to experience of what had happened to the nuclear
family. America has changed by the culture and the environment from the 1950s to
the present time of men and woman raising a family.
American culture in the 1950s was based on nuclear family. It was set of a perfect
family for example, men go to work and support the family when women stayed
home to raise a family. The people in the 1950s who raise their families had morals
to have a value of having an ideal family. The women in the nuclear family had a
commitment of taking care of their children and staying at home as being a

To fully comprehend Bitcoin, one must understand the process of becoming a
Bitcoin user and the block chain. The first step to becoming a Bitcoin user requires
a decision be made on what type of digital wallet service to use. One form of this is
an online wallet service. Charles Babbage, a mathematician, engineer and writer
for the The Economist details this downside in his blog post titled the Bits and
Bob This means trusting the provider of that service not to cheat, or go out of
business, taking clients savings with it (par 3). The other method is to download a
personal digital wallet on the user s computer. If the user does not back up the
drive in which the digital wallet is stored, there is a chance that the Bitcoins could
be lost. The next step requires the user to join the Bitcoin network. This is where
Bitcoin starts to differ from normal currency. Bitcoin is a peer to peer network.
Krohn Grimberghe and Christoph Sorge from the University of Paderborn,
Germany states that Bitcoin was designed as a completely decentralized electronic
cash system (2). Edwin Jacobs a writer for the Journal of Internet Banking and

to whom Cummings remained close ( E.E. Cummings ). After an unsuccessful stint in

approximately one every four or five years ( E.E. Cummings pg.14). The last honor
involved giving a series of public talks; published as i: six Nonlecture (1953), they
provide a succinct and charming summation of his life and personal philosophy. Two
years later he received a National Book Award citation for poems 1923 1954, and two
years after that he won the prestigious bollingen prize in poetry from Yale University
( E.E. Cummings pg.15). (In his poetry he often ignored the rules of capitalization
and has sometimes been referred to as e.e. Cummings) expanded the boundaries of
poetry through typographic and linguistic experimentation (Frazee, E.E. Cummings).
An avoidance of capital letters and creative placement of punctuation soon became
his trademarks. His experimental poetry took many forms, some amusing, some
satirical, some beautiful, some profound, and some which did not make much sense
(Frazee E.E. Cummings ). Typical stylistic devices in his work include: running
words together; scattering punctuation symbols cross the page; subverting the
conventions of the English sentence; intentional misspellings and phonetic spellings
and the invention of compound words such as puddle wonderful ( E.E. Cummings ).
However, this obvious experimentation is often combined with strict formal
structures and traditional

This assessed the historical context and expressions of health inequities of indigenous
peoples and ethnic and cultural minorities. Literatures have shown that on most
accounts, these groups suffer from hugely disparate health outcomes in comparison to
non indigenous or majority societies. The fundamental cause of healthinequity is the
violation of human rights of minorities and indigenous peoples, and lack of
indigenous inclusive policy to reflect their perceptions of development.

According to research done in 2011, the number of aggregation In stops of young

backgrounds of urban societies and become knowledgeable of conflicting theories
that effect policedecisions. Citizens of this country need to be aware of how
enforcements identify targets by using discriminative categories to match their

and analyze if potential police salaries in large cities plays a role in decision making.

America would suffer from one of the worst financial disasters in history after the

Depression (1929 1939) would take the workforce by storm. The country s
unemployment rate would reach a record high leaving millions of Americans out of
work or laid off by the mid 1930s (Smiley, 2014). The Great Depression is often
called a defining moment in the twentieth century history of the United States. Its
most lasting effect was a transformation of the role of the federal government in the
economy (Smiley, 2014). As a result, families were unable to repay debts such as

This verdict was hammered home by the well publicized demolition in 1972 of the
Pruitt Igoe project in St. Louis (Massey Kanaiaupuni, 1993). Although most
politicians viewed large housing complexes (projects) as a social destruction it did
help to recreate new strategies for improving the housing program. America s most
impoverished populations were still struggling to maintain decent housing at an
affordable rate. This dilemma prompted the federal government to seek new
alternatives to help aid low income families. Federal support for housing since,
skimpy as it is, has largely been in the form of Section 8 vouchers and dispersed, low
density, mixed housing. The actual number of public housing units has shrunk in
recent decades (Massey Kanaiaupuni, 1993). According to the article, it was a
response to the post war housing shortage and too many social scientists view at the
time that poor housing itself crowded, dilapidated quarters contributed to social
dysfunction (Massey Kanaiaupuni, 1993). The immediate need to accommodate the
needy seemed to do more harm than good during the early stages of development.
Politician s immediate reaction was to fix the problem by housing multiple families

well as religious objects to his church, but these were vandalized by Arians during
the Council of 381 AD. Hagia Sophia was first named Megale Ekklesia (The Great

The Fundamentals of SSL Certificates and Certificate Authorities (CA) By adding
an SSL certificate, Experts Exchange members not only protect their business but
also increase customer confidence by safely encrypting their customers most
sensitive data. For online transactions, an SSL certificate turns sensitive data into
encrypted secure code. The web browser then checks the SSL certificate to make
sure that the website is legitimate. Once verified, the web browser and server
processes the encoded information. This helps to ensure that the sensitive data
delivered between the web browser and server is handled safely, securely, and that
the website is PCI (Payment Card Industry) compliant. Certificate Authorities (CA)
play an integral role in the entire SSL process because they re the ones issuing these
digital certificates. In essence, digital certificates, such as an SSL, are small verifiable
data files containing identity credentials that help authenticate the online identity of
people, websites, and devices. Each digital certificate includes valuable information
like the expiration date of the certificate, the owner s name and other important
information, along with a public key a value provided by some designated authority
as an encryption key. As a trusted entity issuing these digital certificates, the CA must
meet strict and detailed criteria before being accepted as a member. Once accepted,
the CA is authorized to distribute SSL certificates. The longer the

The conversation surrounding women s roles in the media has been brought more
into center focus today through the use of social media. More and more people are
joining this conversation with each tweet, blog or Instagram that gets posted. The
real questions are: Is this a subject that is being acknowledged globally or just in
the US? What kind of advancements have other regions, specifically Central
Europe, made that perhaps the US hasn t? Or vice versa. Why is this a topic that
women globally should concern themselves with? A 2014 study done by Women s
Media Center shows that male bylines in the US outnumber women s by 63 65%
in evening broadcasts, Internet and print. How can we expect women to be
properly represented when men are controlling the conversation on every major
media platform? This is important because the media heavily influences the way
society thinks and acts. If women are being over sexualized on most media fronts,
how can we expect the general population to respect women enough to promote
one to CEO or vote one in for president? The media has direct influence on our lives
and the way our views are shaped. It s important to be aware of women s roles in
the media, as a negative/incorrect depiction will hinder women s ability to live up to
their full potential. Worldwide, women have still yet to fully break the glass ceiling,
but what can we, as a nation, take away from the progress or stagnation of other
regions, such as Central Europe? Before
42. Fahrenheit 451 And 1984
Several conflicting frames of mind have played defining roles in shaping humanity
throughout the twentieth century. Philosophical optimism of a bright future held by
humanity in general was taken advantage of by the promise of a better life through
sacrifice of individuality to the state. In the books Brave New World, 1984, and
Fahrenheit451 clear opposition to these subtle entrapments was voiced in similarly
convincing ways. They first all established, to varying degreesof balance, the
atmosphere and seductiveness of the utopia and the fear of the consequences of
acting in the non prescribed way through character development. A single character is
alienated because of their inability to conform often in protest to the forced... Show

When these and other questions weigh upon his mind he begins to realize that
something is fundamentally wrong with the world he is living in. In Brave New
World the main character, Bernard, is set apart from society by physical differences,
which, in a society of engineered people is extremely inhibiting. It is these defects
which cause him to look for a deeper meaning than the drug induced happiness forced
upon him. These characters, although alienated in the novels, are believable and
rational. The acts of their questioning in their search for the truth and real emotion
persuade the reader to do the same thing. It is in this manner that the utility of these
novels becomes apparent; through the demands they make of the reader personally a
superior social commentary, one that demands interaction, is born.
The characters struggles to hide their newly found individuality is a futile one. In
Orwell s interpretation of the totalitarian state of 1984, the society is technically and
urbanly engineered to spy on and perceive people s very thoughts. The society
justifies these invasions by eliminating the importance of the individual. The constant
barrage of information regarding the greatness of the state and Big Brother s
supremacy over the common man forces everyone (in good mental health) to accept
these as the only unchanging facts. Any deviation from these beliefs would be
immediately noticeable, and

home. As he returns from work he packs his mother s supper, lifted her onto his
back and started walking towards the Obatsayuma, the mountain of the abandoning
of aged . The mother was anxious as they drifted path to path going deeper and
deeper into the woods. She began to break branches off trees to leave a path, so
her son could find his way back home. As he put her down onto the pile of leaves,
she told him to follow the path of twigs. He looked back down the path and looked
at his hopeless mother and lifted her back onto his back. He couldn t believe the
kind act from his mother, so he took her back home. When he arrived, he told the
emperor his story and the emperor listened to his story and abolished the cruel
order. There are three characters. The emperor is a cruel absolute leader, a warrior
who declared the decree to have the old folk abandoned and left to die. He feels that
the older folk do not contribute, are not strong, and they have no use to the
community. He is a role model to the kingdom, he motivates the people to see the
strongest ability within themselves. The emperor realized the act of the poor farmer s
mother showed him that the

There s an exciting fashion trend happening dance. The dance and fashion industries
seem to be increasingly joining forces, with dance companies commissioning high
profile designers and fashion labels turning to dancers to optimally show off their
clothes. The collision of the worlds of fashion and dance creates alchemy beyond the
reach of either one alone. Fashion is made to move in the ... Show more content on

It is also a reliable source of income. So many people do not believe they can dance.
They think they are uncoordinated, have no rhythm and most of all, they assume the
ability to dance is either something you have or you don t. They see dancers as
members of an unattainable and exclusive club of good posture, hours of practice and
perfect young bodies with plenty of technique.
Dancers are often called the athletes of the arts and like athletes they undergo years
of hard physical training in pursuit of excellence. It is exhilarating watching human
beings perform extraordinary and courageous physical feats. In dance, this energy
is used to tell stories and convey ideas, creating very powerful experiences that can
be dramatic, moving and even funny. (The Autralian Ballet, 2010) However, if you
are one of those people who have always thought you had two left feet, or are just
starting out, don t allow any negative thoughts deprive you of the happiness that
dancing brings. No matter what style: jazz, ballroom, belly dance or just plain
shaking it to your favorite tune, dancing is one of the greatest joys in life. It can
transform your attitude in a second and transport you into pure bliss. Dancing is for
everyone.
On the other side of the coin, being a supermodel is somewhat the same as being a
dancer wherein there are certain challenges that need to be surpassed and most
importantly you should ve the skills to become one.

47. Sumerians Creation Myth Essay
The Sumerians remain in history as one of the first ever recorded people to have a
stable society and culture. From their creation story to the end of their lives on earth,
the Sumerians followed their religion in accordance to their gods. They lived their
whole lives through their religion, making it a huge part of their culture. The
Sumerians, like most cultures, questioned the world around them with such things as,
Who are we? or Why are we here?. The Sumerians thought they floated above a
hollow space with heaven in an arch above them. Vast oceans surrounded them, which
they believed created the earth they lived on. The Sumerians called the universe an ki
, which brought together the names of the god An and the goddess Ki. These two
gods, being the most powerful and important, had many children... Show more

In the story, the elder gods and the younger gods fought continuously. The earth
existed as two huge bodies of churning water. The fresh water side belonged to
Apsu, the male entity. The salt water side belonged to Tiamat, the female entity.
These two gods together, helped to bring all of the other powerful entities of the
Mesopotamian world into existence. The younger gods annoyed the fresh water
god, Apsu, so he planned to kill them. Tiamat, shocked at the other god s plans,
warned her children of Apsu s plans. Her children decided to put Apsu to sleep and
kill him, using his corpse to create the world. Even though this whole mess was
Tiamat s fault, she was upset with her children for what they did and decided to kill
them too. So with that said, Tiamat called up chaos to destroy her children with her
allies. Tiamat did not expect though, that Markduk, the powerful storm god, would
rise against her and use her body to create the sky. He then continued to create the
universe and the humans. Out of all the stories the Sumerians could have gone with,
they chose this
48. The First Creation Myth Is The Hindu Version Of Creation
The first creation myth is the Hindu version of creation, and it is about the
sacrifice of the Man (Purusha), the man with a thousand heads, eyes, and feet. The
Man himself is all this, whatever has been and whatever is to be and he is the
creator and the one creation comes from. He is sacrificed by the gods and his body
makes up the earth. The Man s mouth was the brahmin, his arms were made into the
nobles, his two thighs were the populace, and from his feet the servants were born.
The moon was born from his mind; the sun was born from his eye. After, his mouth
came Indra (4) and Agni, and from his vital breath the wind (Vyu) was born. Then his
navel the atmosphere was born; from his head the heavenemerged. From his two feet
came the earth, and the expanses of the sky from his ear.
The second creation story is the story from the Bible, which is Christians version
of creation. On the first day God (the creator) created light, the second day God
created waters, the atmospheric water and the oceanic water. On the third day God
created dry land and vegetation, and on the forth day he created the sun and the
moon and the stars and planets. On the fifth day God created water creatures and
birds, and on the sixth day he created land animals and man. God creates all this out
of nothing and it takes him six days. He creates all this for the man to rule over and
to multiply and for men to in turn praise him.
The third creation myth is from the Huainanzi and it tells of the great
49. The Pros And Cons Of Family Farming
How important is farming? Farming is only one of the most influential industries
in America. With that being said, why has modern farming become one of the
most unprofitable and family disorientated professions: don t people enjoy
clothing, bacon, ice cream, corn? We can all come to the conclusion that we enjoy
these products and appreciate the hard working people who provide them, so why
is the government trying to replace family farms with large industrial farms? The
ideology of bigger is better always seems to produce a positive outcome, although
does it apply to the appraisal of farming, or does it neglect it. Recently in America,
there has been a decrease in family farming; according to article The Disappearing
Family Farm, since the 1930 s there are roughly 5 Million fewer family farms in
America, and out of the 2 million remaining, only 565,000 are family operated.
(USDA, 2017). The drastic decrease in family farming has begun to ignite questions
and debate within the American population; why this trend is occurring. The first
official reason is the new laws implemented by our government have made it
insufficiently harder to build a profit causing many farms to shut down. First, we
begin with regulations. The government agency, most popularly known as the EPA,
or the Environmental Protection Agency , is an agency that has caused the decrease
of many family farms due to the inadequate amount of regulations that a farmer must
comply to. The EPA proposes
