College Argumentative Essay
Crafting a college argumentative essay can be a challenging endeavor, demanding a fusion of
critical thinking, research prowess, and effective communication skills. The difficulty lies not
only in presenting a coherent and compelling argument but also in navigating the intricate web of
academic conventions and requirements.
Firstly, the process of selecting a suitable topic can pose a significant hurdle. Choosing a subject
that is not only relevant but also allows for a nuanced exploration of different perspectives
requires careful consideration. Once a topic is chosen, delving into extensive research becomes
imperative. This involves sifting through a multitude of sources, ranging from scholarly articles
to reputable books, to gather evidence and support for the chosen stance.
The synthesis of information, coupled with the formulation of a well-structured thesis statement,
demands analytical prowess. Crafting a compelling introduction to hook the reader, followed by
logically organized body paragraphs that present arguments cohesively, adds another layer of
complexity. Balancing a persuasive tone with an objective presentation of facts is crucial, as is
ensuring a smooth flow between ideas.
Furthermore, the mastery of citation styles, adherence to formatting guidelines, and the
refinement of language for academic eloquence contribute to the essay's level of difficulty. The
editing process, often involving multiple revisions to refine arguments, improve clarity, and
eliminate any grammatical errors, is a meticulous task that requires time and dedication.
In conclusion, composing a college argumentative essay is a multifaceted challenge that demands
intellectual rigor, meticulous research, and effective communication skills. Success in this
endeavor hinges on the ability to synthesize information, construct persuasive arguments, and
adhere to the rigorous standards of academic writing.
For those finding themselves overwhelmed by the complexities of such assignments, it's worth
noting that there are resources available. Similar essays and assistance with academic writing can

The Aim Of This Chapter Is To Explore The Current
Prevalence
The aim of this chapter is to explore the current prevalence of substance misuse in
the UK. The chapter aims to discover the prevalence of substance misuse, the
character of individuals that misuse substances and the availability of substances on
UK streets. The effects of this on individuals, families and community s will be
explored, as will the results this has on the UK prison population. We will end this
chapter with a brief exploration of why individuals use substances, and why they
become problematic for some and not others. It is fundamental to a study of this kind
to begin to look at the current state of substance misuse in the U.K and globally. The
ideal starting point here would be statistics collected by the Home Office in the...

It could be suggested, that these individual represent a high number of problem
substance misusers. In terms of police recorded crime statistics, many critics have
argued that these statistics should be viewed critically, as Smith States these
statistics have long been recognised as having a number of weaknesses. First, there
have been regular claims that the police adjust their crime statistics to improve
measured reported performance. Second, the processes and categories used by
local police to record crime have historically had a significant degree of local
variability; this has made it difficult both to make comparisons among local forces
and to form aggregates to provide a meaningful national picture. Third, the unknown
potentially distorts the picture that emerges from recorded crime and uncontrollable
variability in the public s reporting of crime to the police. A number of attempts
have been made over the years to address these perceived problems but they largely
remain (Smith, 2006). Criticisms aside, it can be argued that whilst still employing a
critical eye and allowing room for a likely under representation, these statistics are
the nearest we can get to a picture of the problem of substance misuse in the U.K. As
this study is concerned with current drug
Propaganda In The Poisonwood Bible
35th President of the United States, John Fitzgerald Kennedy once said We must
never forget that art is not a form of propaganda; it is a form of truth (John).
Though the art medium of writing, Barbara Kingsolver sheds light on the toxic
reality of propaganda and its effects. She does this through the ostentatious character
of Nathan Price, a religious zealot placed in Kilanga on a mission to spread
Christianity. He represents a poisoned mind, corrupted by the beliefs of his
government. In Barbara Kingsolvers The Poisonwood Bible, Nathan Price s despotic
personality is the result of exposure to American propaganda and government prior to
his years in the Congo.

Unable to realistically view history and imperialism, Nathan believes the US to be
the Congo s savior, He believes that civilization comes to Africa only from without,
from its colonizers who import their superior cultures: The Belgians and American
business brought civilization to the Congo! American aid will be the Congo s
salvation (Strehle 417). He attempts to civilize Kilanga himself but fails to
understand those that he is trying to change, much like imperialist America. Use to
the effect that his preaching had in a country in which he understood and accepted
the culture, Nathan s ineffectiveness in Kilanga leads him to the conclusion that the
Congolese are the problem and not him, In the distorted evolutionary logic of
nineteenth century imperialism, Nathan considers Africa as inadequately evolved,
backward, primitive a childish culture dwarfed by its grown up Western colonizers
and thus in need of help from the advanced West. As Leah puts it, My father thinks
the Congo is just lagging behind and he can bring it up to snuff (Strehle 418). He
refuses their way of life, and believes that they all must assimilate to him and how he

Slut-Shaming In Puritan Society
Visualize living in a society where slut shaming occurs every day and someone s
mistake is publicized to the point that everyone knows what happened. Some
people would believe this would be referring to the Puritan society that existed
during the 1600 s, but unfortunately, this is common situations that appear in today
s society. A famous person s error can show up on social media, covers of
magazines, and every talk show throughout America. For example, recently the
break up of the beloved Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie appeared everywhere in less
than a day. The breakup sparked news on twitter, talk shows such as Wendy
Williams, and prevailed to be the lead story on every tabloid by the following day.
Even though our society did not devise... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Our society uses one of the Puritans traditions as entertainment for others. For
example, the current society has established specials that air on Comedy Central
called Roasts , where a celebrity is ridiculed by other celebrities. The first Comedy
Central roast was aired on August 10th, 2003 and Denis Leary was ridiculed on stage
for the viewing of millions of people. Roasts have been around as far back as 1904
where the Friars Club held annual roasts. Their main motto was We only roast the
ones we love . At first, roasts were taken lightly and people would just have
innocent fun with friends and family. When Comedy Central started airing roasts
it changed the game. Roasts went from being innocent fun to making a mockery of
a celebrity. Even though the Puritans used the scaffold to generate a mockery of a
plebeian, it still happens today. When Hester was on the stage the townspeople
scorned her for her mistake. She left that day feeling dreadful, as a result of, the
words from the townspeople were so cruel and in 2016 it is still tolerable. In this
day and age, it is accepted to hire people to insult others to gain a laugh from other
people. This society accepts one of the Puritans traditions to such an extreme that it
is broadcasted for millions of people to observe. The only element that has changed
from the 1600 s to today is that technology is so advanced it allows everyone to find
enjoyment off this
Impulse Buying
Running head: CAUSES OF IMPULSE BUYING Impulse Buying EN1320 ITT
Technical Institute Impulse Buying Everyone does it from time to time. I m talking
about acting upon impulse. In some cases, impulsive actions can be harmless or
even rewarding. This is usually not the case though when it comes to making
impulsive purchases. Studies have shown that on average, between 50 and 65
percent of items purchased while shopping we re not on their lists, and we re bought
out of impulse. The question at hand is why, and this is what I am going to try and
answer. Impulse buying begins a downward spiral that, if not corrected, ends with
owning up to unexpected and undesired consequences that can be very detrimental
and life changing. As defined... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the study mentioned above by Spool (2011), a major driver of impulse
purchases is the use of the category links on the website. Certain designs led
shoppers to find products through category links rather than the sites search
engines. When shoppers used these categories, they were far more likely to make
impulse purchases than when they used the search engines. In the study, 87% of
the dollars spent on impulse purchases resulted from users navigating the site by
the category links. Users spent the remaining 13% of the money after navigating
via the sites search engines. If a visitor sees a popular products section or a
clearance banner on a site, those are the things they are most likely going to click.
Even if they went to the site looking for a particular product, this strategy is usually
taken advantage of. Many retailers put a may we suggest section on each and
every product page with items that are relevant to what the customer was looking
for, and this is also very enticing. Other ways online pages encourage impulsive
purchases is with the use of things such as time sensitive sales. This can be sales
such as Memorial Day sales, deal of the day, or just random clearance sales. It doesn
t matter what the occasion is, making a banner that says something like Sale ends at
Midnight! will encourage people to click the link, venture further into the store, and

Case Study Of Physical Security Attack On Sony Pictures
Physical Security Attack on Sony Pictures
Sony Pictures is one of the American entertainment company, which was founded on
December 21st, 1987. At first it was called as Columbia Pictures Entertainment Inc.,
later in August 7th 1991, it was named as Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc., also
known as Sony Pictures.
Sony Pictures suffered its first breach in 2011, where one million user accounts were
hacked. But the hack happened on November 2014, included 100 terabytes of data
being stolen and it effected the company a lot.
A group of hackers who call them as Guardians of Peace (GOP) hacked the company

Ways to Improve Organization s Physical Security
Sony Pictures must pay attention to the physical security to prevent breaches in the
future. GOP already mentioned that they were able to enter the organizations
building because of open doors. The concept of open doors must be stopped. There
should be a tight security maintained at the building entrance. All employees and
visitors are required to use access cards or badges to enter into the building. Access
given to a particular person should be based on the role he/she is performing in the
company. This will limit people going to unauthorized areas.
Another important thing is always to maintain a separate security team. Security
team can be either physical or data oriented. Physical security team will monitor all
the surveillances and check the perimeters of the building to prevent authorized
people entering into the building and data security team will check the company s log
files frequently to see if there is any unauthorized activity happened.
Finally the company should update the employees with the security policies and
procedures to prevent the attacks.

Dance Recital Research Paper
Last year at my dance recital, the craziest thing happened to me. The day started
out like this: I woke up, went to a last minute rehearsal for the ballet, and then
prepared myself for the show that night. And then while I waited in anticipation
for hours to fly by so I could check in at the theater, I got my makeup done and put
my hair in a low flat bun for the first dance I had. I also made copies of the pictures
at dress rehearsal for all the teachers. After the time got closer, my dad and I went to
the theater to check in. Once I got there, I dropped my costumes off in the dressing
room, and then went to the stage to get the last minute corrections from my ballet
teacher, Ms. Lainie. When all of the dancers got on the stage, she gave the... Show

thank all of the audience for coming out to support the dancers. I would also like to
thank all of the parents who took their children to dance and picked them up after
several hours. She then went to recognize the seniors who were graduating, and
also the dance teachers. After that, she went to recognize the students being

candidate for an award. However, when they got to the award for hard working
students, I was one of the five students recognized. My ballet teacher said: Emma

Vladimir Lenin As A Hero
Heroes come in many shapes and sizes, throughout time many of them have risen
and fallen. A hero is characterized as someone that is a leader to his people, they
reflect societal views, and yet they have a major flaw that often causes their
downfall. During the 20th century a revolutionary man rose from his years of exile
to lead the Bolshevik party into power, his name, Vladimir Lenin. Lenin stands as a
prime example of a leader that reflects Russias social values, and as a flaw for his
outspoken nature suffers from a near death assassination. Vladimir Lenin, like
Achilles, looked for ways that benefited him in order to gain power, he was an
aggressive man that had a certain set of beliefs that led to become a Marxist. Lenin
enrolled in the Kazan University, only to be expelled within his first term for
participating in a student demonstration. During his time from his studies, Lenin
immersed himself in revolutionary politics, taking a large interest in Karl Marxs
writings, this later played a large influence during his time of power. Lenin in
many cases is similar to Achilles, a fictional warrior from the Iliad. In book 22,
Priam compares Achilles to Orion s dog, to Greeks this is a bad omen. Priam then
turns to his son, who stands outside the gates of Troy, and tells him this, He is
more powerful by far than you, and pitiless (143, bk 22, lines 47 48). Priam knows
that Hector has no chance of winning against Achilles, for he is out to get revenge on
the death of his

In an address delivered to the French Assembly, he remarked, The pooling of coal and

devoted to the manufacture of munitions of war, of which they have been the most

Europe s economy, but also the assurance that Germany and France would never get
into another war again. In 1951, the Treaty of Paris was officially signed establishing
the European Coal and Steel Community (European Commission). The countries of
Luxembourg, Belgium, The Netherlands, France, West Germany, and Italy were the
first countries to join.
As these countries experienced economic success, they hoped to expand the Coal and
Steel Community to something much more vast. In the Treaty of Rome in 1957, the
European Economic Community was established (CVCE). The EEC didn t just allow
the free trade of coal and steel, but also eliminated all trade tariffs completely. This
enticed other countries including Britain to join the Community. As the EEC
continued to expand and prosper, it also started venturing into the role of governing.
It sought to emulate the model of that of the United States, in which a central
government would rule over individual regional governments. As a result, the
Maastricht Treaty, also known as the Treaty of the European Unionundertook

South Florida is the southernmost part of the state of Florida and is one of three (3)
commonly used directional regions, the others being central and north Florida. South
Florida includes the densely populated areas of Miami, Florida Keys, among others.
Florida and by extension the United States, have experienced hurricanes dating back
to 1900 with Hurricane Galveston and has recorded a myriad of devastating
hurricanes in its history. Hurricanes are not a new phenomenon to South Florida, with
the first devastation occurring in September 1919 killing at least eight hundred (800)
people in Key West. The most recent record was that of Hurricane Andrew in 1992,
which was responsible for twenty three (23) deaths in the United Statesand $25

region has not experienced a major storm in ten (10) years and the community may

4 to the Model of Risk Perception Risk Reduction Behavior process as postulated by
Bennett and Murphy (1997), efficient and effective disaster preparedness is
dependent on risk perception, self efficacy and the social environment (attitudes and

Vidia In Susan Glaspell s Pixie Hollow
Everyone who knows Vidia, especially if they are from Pixie Hollow, knows that
Vidia is many things. She is very mischievous, some say that is a good trait, but for
her not so much. She is very quick to cause annoyance, she causes more harm than
good with being mischievous. Some would say injurious at times. Vidia has a short
temper, may fairies have learned that quickly. The slightest littlest thing can set her
off, making her grouchy for days. In Pixie Hollow, she is said to be the fastest fairy
and she makes it known. In the real world, the streets of New York, she still makes it
known and still thinks herself better than the others. Vidia is the best fairy of them
overall and berates anyone who thinks otherwise.
Jealous? Of course, but she will never admit to it. When Tinkerbell came on the
scene that was when Vidia learned that she did have a jealous bone in her body.
How could someone like Tinker fairy? Was it the blonde hair? The fact she was

Measurement: We can measure Customer / Community Perspective by calculating
the number of visitors per year. We can measure museum s visits per capita, which
will give us an understanding of our position in relation to other competitors. As
well, we can conduct a survey by visitors on the level of satisfaction they have
experienced during their visit to the museum. Also, we can do a more thorough

The Sputnik Scare And Its Effects On The World s...
The Sputnik scare. On October 4, 1957, the Soviet Union launched the world s first
manmade satellite into orbit. The satellite, known as Sputnik, did not do much other
than send radio waves from its transmitters as it circled the Earth. Yet, to many
Americans, Sputnik was evidence of something alarming. The Soviets success
suggested that they might be capable of launching intercontinental ballistic missiles
and they were ahead of the United States in scientific and military technology. In
response, the federal government formed new agencies, such as the National
Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the Department of Defense s
Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA), to develop cutting edge technologies
such as rockets, weapons and computers (Moschovitis et al. 1999: 39). The birth of
the ARPAnet. According to Grillies and Cailliau (2000), scientists and military
experts were especially concerned about a Soviet attack on the nation s telephone
system and how much of an impact it would have on governmental communication.
They feared that just a single missile could destroy the whole network that made
efficient long distance communication possible. To solve this problem, a scientist
from M.I.T. and ARPA known as J.C.R. Licklider proposed an intergalactic network
of computers that could communicate with one another. Such a network would allow
government leaders to communicate even if the Soviets destroyed the telephone
system (Grillies et al. 2000: 12 15). In

Brazilian bassist, composer, and producer. Matta is considered to be one of the
greatest bass musicians in the world, and has earned great reputation for his unique
sounds (Nilson). The staff members were very welcoming, and were all dressed in
black attire. The venue had dim lighting, and each table had a lighted candle; which
created a nice romantic and intimate atmosphere. Behind the stage, there is a
spectacular scene that overlooks Central Park, and the city. At the beginning of the
performance, Nilson Matta, and three other musicians walked up on stage, and
introduced themselves. The musicians were, Mauricio Zottarelli (drummist), Craig
Handy (saxophonist/flautist), Helen Sung (pianist), and of course Nilson Matta
(bassist). Matta commenced the performance with a piece called Para Ti (For You),
which he dedicated to Rio de Jainero. Matta began to play the double bass instrument.
Although, it was huge in size, the timbre was dull. Following this, the rest of the
musicians played along, creating beautiful harmonies, and Brazilian rhythms. The
sounds of each instrument were clear in this piece, but the unique sound of the
saxophone played by Handy, stood out the most. Helen Sung, also played the piano

The Role Of Climate Change In Canada
Climate change has become the most serious global environmental threat with
sides of people who do not believe it exists and people who are actually aware. The
release of greenhouse gases such as carbon and methane into the atmosphere has
been known to be one of the major causes of climate change. Scientists explain that
these emissions must drastically reduce to avoid a 2В°C rise in average global
temperature. Therefore different countries have made policies and ways to reduce
the production of these gases and Canada is one of them. Canada ranks 15th out of
17 countries for greenhouse gasemissions per capita.Canada s per capita decreased by
nearly 5% between 1990 and 2010 while the total GHG emissions in Canada grew by

instituting a price charge and encourage companies and consumers from burning

control this by finding alternative ways to produce these commodities without

The Woman in Black Review Essay
The Woman in Black Review
Upon the arrival in London my anticipation was high. My first impression of the
Fortune Theatre was; it was a very old Victorian building, very small and slightly
ragged. Upon entering it felt very cramped and made you feel claustrophobic. The
atmosphere was eerie due to the old style of the building. This was particularly
effective as the play was set in the Victorian period. This made you feel as if you
were in the past. Also the narrow staircase and small seating area created effect.
Before the play starts there is no background music played to set a scene or image in
the audiences mind. The play starts without warning and lights go down and we are
straight into the story.
The play is set in a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Images were also shone on to a translucent curtain showing at the position of the
actors. This included a crucifix. This was effective as it was a very overpowering
image, which embraces the audience as it is the first scary moment of the play. The
other image was of the house in which the Woman in Black haunts. It gives you a
mental representation of what the building would look like. Upon seeing this
building, it was obvious a catastrophe was immanent.
The lighting also represented where they were. For instance the actors were on a train
and the windows of another train passed. This made you jump and started a
continuous pattern of many frights to come.
Sometimes the lack of lighting built up the atmosphere. At one time the stage was
dark until the actor lit a match which illuminated his face. The effect of this was
astonishing, such a simple thing as a match built up the scene immediately. The
match was very effective because it was less bright than a spotlight and would not
show off the surroundings. A torch was also used in the same way as the match
but was just as effective as it showed a specific area. After seeing this used I
realised how effective low light can be to create suspense and confusion. Sometimes
the light came as a relief for the audience. In the first half of the play whenever there
was a scary part normal lighting would come in to effect and give the audience relief
from the intenseness.
This almost gave the audience

Are Pennies Paid Too Much
A fraction, just a hundredth of a hundredth of a hundred dollars. About 30 million
pennies are produced each year, costing the United States of America 72 million
dollars. For a penny. The lowest form of currency in the U.S. is costing us more than
twice as much as its worth. So, is keeping the penny worth it? In my opinion, no.
Pennies just cost too much, and it s our tax moneymaking it. Many countries, such as
Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Brazil, Finland, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden,
Switzerland and Britain, have already dropped their lowest denominated coin

copper coin cost 2.41 cents to produce and distribute (Sommer). In 2010, the U.S.

Vets Are Doctors For Animals
I ve always been the type of person that is great with animals, and people. Vets are
doctors for animals. They give the owners advice on the health care of their animal
and the breeding process. They treat all types of animals depending on their
specialization. Most work with small animals, such as dogs, cats, or birds, humans
companions in other words. They may treat illnesses, perform surgery, or board
animals if family vacation. Large animal vets can take care of both big and small
animals. Unlike small animal vets, they make farm calls to examine cattle, horses,
or sheep. Some specialize in water animals, such as fish. In small countries vets may

Employment for big animal vets is more common, however small animal vets are
more competitive. The majority of states allow a person to apply for licensure
upon receiving the D.V.M. degree without a residency and without completing a
set number of hours of practice. Some States issue licenses without further
examination to veterinarians already licensed by another state. For research and
teaching jobs, a master s or Ph.D. degree usually is required. Veterinarians who
seek specialty certification in a profession like ophthalmology, pathology, surgery,
radiology, or laboratory animal medicine must complete 3 year residency program,
and pass an examination. The D.V.M. degree requires a minimum of 6 years of
college consisting of at least 2 years of pre veterinary study that emphasizes the
physical and biological sciences and a 4 year veterinary program. In 1992, all 27
colleges of veterinary medicine were accredited by the Council on Education of the
American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). Admission is really competitive.
Applicants usually have grades of B or better, especially in sciences. Applicants must
take the Veterinary Aptitude Test, Medical College Admission Test, or the Graduate
Record Examination and submit evidence they have experience working with
animals. Colleges usually give preference to in State applicants, because most are
State supported.

Sentences By Bonaventure
When one believes in God he naturally revealed to them through the goodness in his
creation. By looking at the surrounding world one can see God s fingerprints. In his
work, Sentences, Bonaventure modestly defines creation as as the loving outflow of
a loving God whose infinite dynamic goodness is shared in a limited dynamic way.
Creation is Gods other. God doesn t have to create since God is infinitely bountiful
and self communicative within Himself. Creation flows out of the infinite fountain
of divine self diffusive goodness because God is creative and loving. The Father
freely desires to create because God is love, and perfect love can never be self
contained it must be shared. Bonaventure indicates that the world exists by virtue of
the free creative power of divine love. Creation is a free act of divine goodness
spilling forth from the infinite divine community of love. Bonaventure uses the term
emanation to describe the expression of creation from the loving community of a
triune God. Emanation used in the Christian sense means that creation flows out of
the infinite, transcendent one. Bonaventure metaphorically writes, Creation is like a
river, which flows from a spring, spreads throughout the land to purify and fructify it,
and eventually flows back to its point of origin. This image speaks to the intimate
connection between creation and the triune God as well as creation s cyclical nature.
Bonaventure writes that creation can find its origin in a single

Some have argued that, because of the text s inconsistencies and incompatibilities of
thought, there is much in the Analects that is non Confucian and should be discarded
as a basis for understanding the thought of Confucius. Benjamin Schwartz cautions us
against such radical measures.
While textual criticism based on rigorous philological and historic analysis is crucial,
and while the later sections [of the Analects] do contain late materials, the type of
textual criticism that is based on considerations of alleged logical inconsistencies and
incompatibilities of thought must be viewed with great suspicion. . . . While none of
us comes to such an enterprise without deep laid assumptions about necessary logical
relations and compatibilities, we should at least hold before ourselves the constant
injunction to mistrust all our unexamined preconceptions on these matters when
dealing with comparative thought. (The World of Thought in Ancient China, p. 61)
Confucius philosophy was predominately a moral and political one. It was founded on
the belief that heaven and earth coexist in harmony and balanced strength while
maintaining a perpetual dynamism. Human beings, he taught, are sustained by these
conditions and must strive to emulate the cosmic model.

The dynamic piece fuses architecture, sculpture and fresco to create a theatre for
the spectacle which lies in the Cornaro Chapel. Bernini depicts the spiritual
awakening of the Saint as she has a vision of an angel, who plunges a spear into
her heart. The sculpture attempts replicate the sensation with the detailed facial
expression of the Saint her eyes closed and mouth open which displays a moment
of spiritual pain and pleasure as she is consumed by her love for God. The angle
appears to wear a light cloth that wraps around his figure, whilst the mortal Saint
wears a heavy cloth, denoting a sense of stability associated with earth. The tangible
quality of the cloth further enhances the realism of her transcended state. The
sculptures theatrical element is foregrounded by the placement of a small hidden
window which shines daylight onto the dramatic event, illuminating the bronze
shafts representing the golden rays of heaven above. Placed on the surrounding
walls are theatre boxes which seat the patrons who witness the climatic event.
Bernini s work contributed to the Counter Reformation propaganda, as it provided
pictorial evidence of the divine power of Christ to encourage faith amongst people
of all social standing. The composition of the chapel ensures that it s visitors
experience the art which defies mundanity and thus inspires awe and faith. In the
promotion of intended context, Berger asserts that reproduction of an artwork
creates multiple meanings which defer with each spectator and their respective
contexts. His assertion may imply a scenario in which the grandeur and gravity of
the artwork is lost as it is perceived from a television screen in an ordinary living

4.1.2 Hive
Hive provides the ability to store large amounts of data in HDFS. Hive was designed
to appeal to a community comfortable with SQL. Hive uses an SQL like language
known as HIVEQL. Its philosophy is that we don t need yet another scripting
language. Hive supports maps and reduced transform scripts in the language of the
user s choice which can be embedded with SQL. Hive is widely used in Facebook,
with analyst comfortable with SQL as well as data miners programming in Python.
Supporting SQL syntax also means that it is possible to integrate with existing
tools like. Hive has an ODBC (Open Database Connectivity JDBC (Java Database
Connectivity) driver that allows and facilitates easy queries. It also adds support
for indexes which allows support for queries common in such environment. Hive is
a framework for performing analytical queries. Currently Hive can be used to query
data stored in HBase which is a key value store like those found in the gods of most

Describe The Characteristics Of Baroque Music
Baroque music generally has certain elements in common across the board, including
but not limited to: basso continuo, ornamentation, decisive rhythms, melodiousness,
and use of several textures. Of course, different countries in Western Europe had
different styles and sub genres within this. Theorists and composers, such as Jean
Philippe Rameau with his treatise on harmony, began defining characteristics of
harmony by studying works of his contemporaries. Although the Baroque musicas a
whole sounds similar, it is important to keep in mind that it was not one unified style,
but rather it was separated and understood differently depending on region. Certain
style techniques can be attributed to different regions. For instance, while Italy was
known to have melodies that sounded similar to singing, France was focused on
bringing shape to their melodies. In contrast, German composers of this same time
actually did not limit themselves to particular National style choices, but rather
looked to and studied that of composers in other countries. Telemann was a German
composer who exemplified this German style through his works. Not only was he
important for the sake of combining and utilizing different techniques and creating
unique pieces to that of his contemporaries, but he also was the most prolific
composer of his time. This Trumpet Concerto displays a blend of these cosmopolitan
styles. Telemann borrowed the French idea of shaping melodies. In the third
movement, the
Ode To Possibilities, By Claes Oldenburg
ART OF EVERYDAY CRAP
In his Ode to Possibilities , Claes Oldenburg maintained, I am for an art that
embroils itself with the everyday crap and still comes out on top. While so many
Modernists rejected the tools and medium of fine art to make art of everyday crap
using advertisements, packaging, newspapers, cardboard, commodities and rubbish,
there may be several reasons for this, including opposition to consumerism,
opposition to the previous movements and desire to draw distinctions, and the lack
of resources and the need to make one s living. As stated in the Dada Manifesto,

Conceptual art is the one where materials and techniques are replaced by ideas and
concepts, creating art objects that are expected to serve a particular artistic idea.
Dadaism initially coined by Marcel Duchamp was one of the branches of
conceptual art, showing how the idea may be primary in creating a work of art.
Joseph Kosuth s The Boundaries of the Limitless is an example of conceptualism,
seen in Figure 4, while the collage Cut with the Dada Kitchen Knife through the Last
Weimar Beer Belly Cultural Epoch in Germany by Hannah Höch represents
Dadaism, seen in Figure 5. Although the distinctions between styles and movements
may be no as clear as their value for the viewers, these artworks still represent the
ideas of the artists applied through the extraordinary use of resources and techniques

During the weight bearing test, three of the eighteen participants had minor difficulty
lifting a twenty five pound dumbbell. R.22. The legal team was advised to err on the
side of caution when determining the maximum amount of weight that could be lifted
by the Phoenix I, and thus the twenty pound limit was set. R.22. None of the
participants had difficulty lifting the weight of twenty pounds. R.22. The swing test
comprised of participants hitting golf balls that weighed five times the weight of an
average golf ball. R.22. The participants spent over thirty hours driving the heavy
golf balls with the goal of discovering any possible injuries or prosthetic
malfunctions involving the grip of the golf club. R.22. Two participants had
discomfort in the beginning of the swinging test, but were able to complete the test
without issue. R.22. The final round of testing had the participants playing ten hours
of informal scrimmage with each participant using a lacrosse stick. R.22. The
purpose of this test was to assess the Phoenix I s range of motion via catching the ball
in the air, and the transition from a scooping position to a throwing movement.
Al Capone Gang Stereotypes
Al Capone
Gangs have many stereotypes, stereotypes on how gangs work and the structure
behind them. The other major stereotype is the focus on criminal behavior, and the
blaming of gangs for criminal acts (Moore). The research on gangs and drugs is
small, because not many people have been able to infiltrate the gangs and make gang
members speak (Kobler). The police and the media make the public afraid of the
gangs because of the drugs and the violence. The media shows the gangs in a
terrible light to attract better audiences. What is known about gangs, is almost all
heard from the media and the police who essentially blow the event out of
proportion and make it look worse than what it actually is (Moore). Al Capone was

As he was leaving the courtroom, he was arrested for contempt of court (FBI). The
reason he was arrested was that he attended a racetrack in the Miami area and had
taken a plane trip to Bimini and a cruise to Nassau when he was supposed to be in his
bed. The penalty could be one year in prison and a fine of only a thousand dollars.
Capone posted a five thousand dollar bail and was released (History Learning Site).
Capone s first arrest was for carrying a concealed weapon in Philadelphia. Within
sixteen hours, they had all been sentence to a one year term (Al Capone Biography).
Capone served his time and was released in nine months for good behavior (Woog).
Capone was arrested again for tax invasion. His mob bribed the jury, but on the day
of the court date, the judge suddenly switched the bribed jury with a new one that
had been chosen the night before (Al Capone Biography). After only nine hours,
Capone was found guilty of several counts of tax invasion and was sentenced to
eleven years. Capone also picked up a $50,000 fine and a court cost of 30,000 and his

St Thomas Aquinas On Slavery
St. Thomas Aquinas on Slavery of Man The question of freedom has been a big
thing during the medieval philosophy or in that era. Thus, before reaching freedom
there has been some objectivity in attaining freedom such as the slavery of man. This
objectivity of slavery has existed in the real world which man dwells within.
Assuming that slaveryof man is a big conflict on the medieval era first, we look in a
way on how slavery become to start. Looking in a way that where does slavery
come from or such a man can be made to be a slave, or rather man is born to be
slave. As we think of as a slave on the medieval era, how did man learned to reach
the notion of freedom from being slaved. On this paper, what I proposed to do is to
examine the nature of slavery between masters and slaves, also to look on the theory
of and characteristic of natural slavery. To distinguished between natural and
conventional slavery with the comments and stands of St. Thomas Aquinasand
Aristotlein connecting to this topic guided by the following questions. First is how
can be a man labeled or considered as a slave? What is the concept of freedom of
man, if there is slavery? What is the role of man who is a slave during that time?
What was the way slave being treated? What is the stand of St. Thomas Aquinas
regarding slavery? I believe that this discussion thru St. Thomas Aquinas and
Aristotle we can see some similarities and differences.... Show more content on

Us Involvement In Ww2 Essay
World War two was an international war fought against by the central powers,
Germany, Austria Hungary, the Ottoman Empire, and Belgium, and the Allies,
France, Britain, China, and eventually the Soviet Union and the United States. The
question is, what started the war? Why did the U.S get involved? And finally, what
eventually brought the war to a close? World War II officially began on September
1, 1939 with the German invasion of Poland. With the leading of Hitler and the Nazi
party, troops of more than 2,000 German tanks and 1,000 planes were sent into
Poland from the North, while Silesia and Slovakia came in from the South with
Prussia in the East to take down Polish defences. Two days later, on September 3,
both Britain and France had declared war on Germany. The Soviet Union invaded
Eastern Poland September 17, and by September 27, Poland had surrendered. This

The German forces were strong, and well on their way to European, and eventually
world, domination. A significant date that put a stop to the takeover of the
German troops, was June 6, 1944, also known as D Day . This was the event in
which the Allied Forces landed in Normandy, in attempt to take down the German
forces through France. With the help of the Soviet Union through Russia,
American troops were able to push through and put an end to German power,
ending the war in Europe on May 7th, 1945. However, one problem still remained;
Japan. Sick and tired of war and ready to bring his boys home, Harry Truman, who
had become president April 12, 1945, was faced with a decision called the
Manhattan Project, a top secret project started by Roosevelt to create two destructive
atomic bombs. On August 6, 1945 the first bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan.
Though that wasn t enough to get the Japanese to surrender, the second bomb
dropped on Nagasaki on August 9th was enough to put an end to the war once and for
Dr. Bruce Tuckman s Model Of Group Work
Our group was brought together for a purpose of making a presentation. We were
strangers to each other but expected commitment in terms of attendance,
communication, meetings and quality of work. It can be argued that individuals can
be demotivated by group project if they feel their success depends on others who do
not share this views and which might lead to discrimination and oppression (CMU,
2015). However this might be resolved by a professional organisation of working
process, high motivation and personal responsibility of each groupmember indicating
a successful group development. This project was a valuable experience for
developing our teamwork skills and in this essay, I will discuss our group process and

By projecting the JOHARI window (West, R. and Turner, L., 2009) on our group
at the first stage when we met it can be said that the Arena window representing
facts about the members, their feelings, desires, and emotions was very small. We
had personal awareness towards each other and probably unconsciously we
behaved in a discriminatory way towards assessing each other as we did not know
professional qualities and how far we can trust each other in completing a reliable
presentation. As suggested by some research that group members can project their
experience of oppression and feeling of mistrust from their previous life experience
(Lindsay and Orton, 2009). This probably was the case with our group at the
beginning of our project as we all wanted to achieve good outcomes but had some
mistrust in group work as a result of stereotyping the low level of the communal
responsibility. With time the Arena windows (West, R. and Turner, L., 2009) of
our group members expanded as we explored each other s ability to concentrate on
the task, meet a deadline and by giving each other feedback which was appreciated
and increased our trust in each other. The group members admitted that the turning
point was a self disclosing process as described by Whitaker s group focal conflict
theory. There were only four group members out of five present at this time and

Coding Theory Case Study
What is Coding Theory? Coding theory is the study of the properties of codes and
their fitness for a specific application. Codes are used for data compression,
cryptography, error correction and more recently also for network coding. Codes are
studied by various scientific disciplines such as information theory, electrical
engineering, mathematics, and computer science for the purpose of designing
efficient and reliable data transmission methods. This typically involves the removal
of redundancy and the correction (or detection) of errors in the transmitted data.
(Coding Theory, 2010) There are many aspects that go into the ... Show more content

If the original message were 1001, we would encode that as 10010, since the
original message already had n even number of 1 s. When someone receives the
message 10101, since there are an odd number of 1 s, we know that an error
occurred during transmission. We do not know how many there were or which
digit(s) were effected and the parity check does locate them for correction.
Once the errors are located an error correcting code can begin. An ECC is an
algorithm for expressing a sequence of numbers such that any errors which are
introduced can be detected and corrected (within certain limitations) based on
remaining numbers. (Weisstein, 2014) The study of error correcting codes and the
associated mathematics is known as coding theory. Detecting the errors within
codes is much easier than actually fixing the errors. The major difference between
a parity check is that with error correction, errors are detected and corrected right
then, not just detected. Error correction may generally be realized in two different
ways: Automatic repeat request (ARQ). This is an error control technique whereby
an error detection scheme is combined with requests for retransmission of
erroneous data. Every block of data received is checked using the error detection
code used, and if the check fails, retransmission of the data is requested this may be
done repeatedly, until the data can be verified. The other is forward error correction
(FEC). Here the sender encodes the data using an

Art and Clothing
Ojibway Indian men usually wore breechcloths and leggings. The women wore

were made out of deer or moose hide. Customarily, they wore leather headbands
with feathers in the back. The Ojibway Indians made pictures, belts, purses, and
other objects out of beads. They loved to use wampum beads in their artwork.
Wampum beads are purple and white beads made from shells. The Ojibway
Indians make beadart by sewing the beads onto leather so they can be placed
individually or sewn into strips. They make the strips by stitching the beads into a
string. This is usually done by hand or sometimes with a bowloom. Beadart takes
years to master and is very time consuming for the Ojibway Indians. The Ojibway
also made dream catchers out of sticks and feathers. They believed that the dream
catchers would protect them from bad dreams.

antibody based therapy against LRP8. We hypothesis that an anti LRP8 antibody
conjugated to cytotoxic drug will lead toward effective therapy for TNBC. We will
perform experiments using flow cytometry and confocal microscopy to prove that
LRP8 is suitable ADC target. Two main factors will contribute to whether it is

i.100,000 LPR8 receptors should be expressed on the surface of 18 20 cells line.
Our hypothesis is that will be more than 100,000 LPR8 receptors on the surface of

The difficulty lies not only in presenting a coherent and compelling argument but also in navigating the intricate web of academic conventions and requirements. Firstly, the process of selecting a suitable topic can pose a significant hurdle. Choosing a subject that is not only relevant but also allows for a nuanced exploration of different perspectives requires careful consideration. Once a topic is chosen, delving into extensive research becomes imperative. This involves sifting through a multitude of sources, ranging from scholarly articles to reputable books, to gather evidence and support for the chosen stance. The synthesis of information, coupled with the formulation of a well-structured thesis statement, demands analytical prowess. Crafting a compelling introduction to hook the reader, followed by logically organized body paragraphs that present arguments cohesively, adds another layer of complexity. Balancing a persuasive tone with an objective presentation of facts is crucial, as is ensuring a smooth flow between ideas. Furthermore, the mastery of citation styles, adherence to formatting guidelines, and the refinement of language for academic eloquence contribute to the essay's level of difficulty. The editing process, often involving multiple revisions to refine arguments, improve clarity, and eliminate any grammatical errors, is a meticulous task that requires time and dedication. • 2. The Aim Of This Chapter Is To Explore The Current Prevalence The aim of this chapter is to explore the current prevalence of substance misuse in the UK. The chapter aims to discover the prevalence of substance misuse, the character of individuals that misuse substances and the availability of substances on UK streets. The effects of this on individuals, families and community s will be explored, as will the results this has on the UK prison population. We will end this chapter with a brief exploration of why individuals use substances, and why they become problematic for some and not others. It is fundamental to a study of this kind to begin to look at the current state of substance misuse in the U.K and globally. The ideal starting point here would be statistics collected by the Home Office in the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It could be suggested, that these individual represent a high number of problem substance misusers. In terms of police recorded crime statistics, many critics have argued that these statistics should be viewed critically, as Smith States these statistics have long been recognised as having a number of weaknesses. First, there have been regular claims that the police adjust their crime statistics to improve measured reported performance. Second, the processes and categories used by local police to record crime have historically had a significant degree of local variability; this has made it difficult both to make comparisons among local forces and to form aggregates to provide a meaningful national picture. Third, the unknown potentially distorts the picture that emerges from recorded crime and uncontrollable variability in the public s reporting of crime to the police. A number of attempts have been made over the years to address these perceived problems but they largely remain (Smith, 2006). Criticisms aside, it can be argued that whilst still employing a critical eye and allowing room for a likely under representation, these statistics are the nearest we can get to a picture of the problem of substance misuse in the U.K. As this study is concerned with current drug
  • 3. Propaganda In The Poisonwood Bible 35th President of the United States, John Fitzgerald Kennedy once said We must never forget that art is not a form of propaganda; it is a form of truth (John). Though the art medium of writing, Barbara Kingsolver sheds light on the toxic reality of propaganda and its effects. She does this through the ostentatious character of Nathan Price, a religious zealot placed in Kilanga on a mission to spread Christianity. He represents a poisoned mind, corrupted by the beliefs of his government. In Barbara Kingsolvers The Poisonwood Bible, Nathan Price s despotic personality is the result of exposure to American propaganda and government prior to his years in the Congo. Nathan s behavior and personality is the main antagonist in The Poisonwood ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unable to realistically view history and imperialism, Nathan believes the US to be the Congo s savior, He believes that civilization comes to Africa only from without, from its colonizers who import their superior cultures: The Belgians and American business brought civilization to the Congo! American aid will be the Congo s salvation (Strehle 417). He attempts to civilize Kilanga himself but fails to understand those that he is trying to change, much like imperialist America. Use to the effect that his preaching had in a country in which he understood and accepted the culture, Nathan s ineffectiveness in Kilanga leads him to the conclusion that the Congolese are the problem and not him, In the distorted evolutionary logic of nineteenth century imperialism, Nathan considers Africa as inadequately evolved, backward, primitive a childish culture dwarfed by its grown up Western colonizers and thus in need of help from the advanced West. As Leah puts it, My father thinks the Congo is just lagging behind and he can bring it up to snuff (Strehle 418). He refuses their way of life, and believes that they all must assimilate to him and how he believed their society should
  • 4. Slut-Shaming In Puritan Society Visualize living in a society where slut shaming occurs every day and someone s mistake is publicized to the point that everyone knows what happened. Some people would believe this would be referring to the Puritan society that existed during the 1600 s, but unfortunately, this is common situations that appear in today s society. A famous person s error can show up on social media, covers of magazines, and every talk show throughout America. For example, recently the break up of the beloved Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie appeared everywhere in less than a day. The breakup sparked news on twitter, talk shows such as Wendy Williams, and prevailed to be the lead story on every tabloid by the following day. Even though our society did not devise... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Our society uses one of the Puritans traditions as entertainment for others. For example, the current society has established specials that air on Comedy Central called Roasts , where a celebrity is ridiculed by other celebrities. The first Comedy Central roast was aired on August 10th, 2003 and Denis Leary was ridiculed on stage for the viewing of millions of people. Roasts have been around as far back as 1904 where the Friars Club held annual roasts. Their main motto was We only roast the ones we love . At first, roasts were taken lightly and people would just have innocent fun with friends and family. When Comedy Central started airing roasts it changed the game. Roasts went from being innocent fun to making a mockery of a celebrity. Even though the Puritans used the scaffold to generate a mockery of a plebeian, it still happens today. When Hester was on the stage the townspeople scorned her for her mistake. She left that day feeling dreadful, as a result of, the words from the townspeople were so cruel and in 2016 it is still tolerable. In this day and age, it is accepted to hire people to insult others to gain a laugh from other people. This society accepts one of the Puritans traditions to such an extreme that it is broadcasted for millions of people to observe. The only element that has changed from the 1600 s to today is that technology is so advanced it allows everyone to find enjoyment off this
  • 5. Impulse Buying Running head: CAUSES OF IMPULSE BUYING Impulse Buying EN1320 ITT Technical Institute Impulse Buying Everyone does it from time to time. I m talking about acting upon impulse. In some cases, impulsive actions can be harmless or even rewarding. This is usually not the case though when it comes to making impulsive purchases. Studies have shown that on average, between 50 and 65 percent of items purchased while shopping we re not on their lists, and we re bought out of impulse. The question at hand is why, and this is what I am going to try and answer. Impulse buying begins a downward spiral that, if not corrected, ends with owning up to unexpected and undesired consequences that can be very detrimental and life changing. As defined... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the study mentioned above by Spool (2011), a major driver of impulse purchases is the use of the category links on the website. Certain designs led shoppers to find products through category links rather than the sites search engines. When shoppers used these categories, they were far more likely to make impulse purchases than when they used the search engines. In the study, 87% of the dollars spent on impulse purchases resulted from users navigating the site by the category links. Users spent the remaining 13% of the money after navigating via the sites search engines. If a visitor sees a popular products section or a clearance banner on a site, those are the things they are most likely going to click. Even if they went to the site looking for a particular product, this strategy is usually taken advantage of. Many retailers put a may we suggest section on each and every product page with items that are relevant to what the customer was looking for, and this is also very enticing. Other ways online pages encourage impulsive purchases is with the use of things such as time sensitive sales. This can be sales such as Memorial Day sales, deal of the day, or just random clearance sales. It doesn t matter what the occasion is, making a banner that says something like Sale ends at Midnight! will encourage people to click the link, venture further into the store, and

Access given to a particular person should be based on the role he/she is performing in the company. This will limit people going to unauthorized areas. Another important thing is always to maintain a separate security team. Security team can be either physical or data oriented. Physical security team will monitor all the surveillances and check the perimeters of the building to prevent authorized people entering into the building and data security team will check the company s log files frequently to see if there is any unauthorized activity happened. • 10. Dance Recital Research Paper Last year at my dance recital, the craziest thing happened to me. The day started out like this: I woke up, went to a last minute rehearsal for the ballet, and then prepared myself for the show that night. And then while I waited in anticipation for hours to fly by so I could check in at the theater, I got my makeup done and put my hair in a low flat bun for the first dance I had. I also made copies of the pictures at dress rehearsal for all the teachers. After the time got closer, my dad and I went to the theater to check in. Once I got there, I dropped my costumes off in the dressing room, and then went to the stage to get the last minute corrections from my ballet teacher, Ms. Lainie. When all of the dancers got on the stage, she gave the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Line by line, we walked up the front of the stage and bowed to Happy by Pharrell Williams. After watching the dad s cross the stage and bow, everyone stood up and bowed altogether. The owner of the dance studio, Ms. Devin, said: I would like to thank all of the audience for coming out to support the dancers. I would also like to thank all of the parents who took their children to dance and picked them up after several hours. She then went to recognize the seniors who were graduating, and also the dance teachers. After that, she went to recognize the students being awarded. Since I am not in a dance company, I did not think that I would be a candidate for an award. However, when they got to the award for hard working students, I was one of the five students recognized. My ballet teacher said: Emma has been very dedicated and hardworking all year. Even though she had an injury for half of the year, she made sure to still come to class and do what she could. I accepted the award graciously, and almost dropped because it felt very heavy, as if I were lifting a 50 pound weight instead. Not only was it an extreme honor, but there were only five students to receive the award! I still feel so blessed and thankful for all
  • 11. Vladimir Lenin As A Hero Heroes come in many shapes and sizes, throughout time many of them have risen and fallen. A hero is characterized as someone that is a leader to his people, they reflect societal views, and yet they have a major flaw that often causes their downfall. During the 20th century a revolutionary man rose from his years of exile to lead the Bolshevik party into power, his name, Vladimir Lenin. Lenin stands as a prime example of a leader that reflects Russias social values, and as a flaw for his outspoken nature suffers from a near death assassination. Vladimir Lenin, like Achilles, looked for ways that benefited him in order to gain power, he was an aggressive man that had a certain set of beliefs that led to become a Marxist. Lenin enrolled in the Kazan University, only to be expelled within his first term for participating in a student demonstration. During his time from his studies, Lenin immersed himself in revolutionary politics, taking a large interest in Karl Marxs writings, this later played a large influence during his time of power. Lenin in many cases is similar to Achilles, a fictional warrior from the Iliad. In book 22, Priam compares Achilles to Orion s dog, to Greeks this is a bad omen. Priam then turns to his son, who stands outside the gates of Troy, and tells him this, He is more powerful by far than you, and pitiless (143, bk 22, lines 47 48). Priam knows that Hector has no chance of winning against Achilles, for he is out to get revenge on the death of his

President Schuman s motives were not only the rebuilding of Europe s economy, but also the assurance that Germany and France would never get into another war again. In 1951, the Treaty of Paris was officially signed establishing the European Coal and Steel Community (European Commission). The countries of Luxembourg, Belgium, The Netherlands, France, West Germany, and Italy were the first countries to join. As these countries experienced economic success, they hoped to expand the Coal and Steel Community to something much more vast. In the Treaty of Rome in 1957, the European Economic Community was established (CVCE). The EEC didn t just allow the free trade of coal and steel, but also eliminated all trade tariffs completely. This enticed other countries including Britain to join the Community. As the EEC continued to expand and prosper, it also started venturing into the role of governing. It sought to emulate the model of that of the United States, in which a central government would rule over individual regional governments. As a result, the Maastricht Treaty, also known as the Treaty of the European Unionundertook responsibilities in setting, clear rules for the future single

The satellite, known as Sputnik, did not do much other than send radio waves from its transmitters as it circled the Earth. Yet, to many Americans, Sputnik was evidence of something alarming. The Soviets success suggested that they might be capable of launching intercontinental ballistic missiles and they were ahead of the United States in scientific and military technology. In response, the federal government formed new agencies, such as the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the Department of Defense s Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA), to develop cutting edge technologies such as rockets, weapons and computers (Moschovitis et al. 1999: 39). They feared that just a single missile could destroy the whole network that made efficient long distance communication possible. To solve this problem, a scientist from M.I.T. and ARPA known as J.C.R. Licklider proposed an intergalactic network of computers that could communicate with one another. Such a network would allow government leaders to communicate even if the Soviets destroyed the telephone system (Grillies et al. 2000: 12 15). In

Behind the stage, there is a spectacular scene that overlooks Central Park, and the city. At the beginning of the performance, Nilson Matta, and three other musicians walked up on stage, and introduced themselves. The musicians were, Mauricio Zottarelli (drummist), Craig Handy (saxophonist/flautist), Helen Sung (pianist), and of course Nilson Matta (bassist). Matta commenced the performance with a piece called Para Ti (For You), which he dedicated to Rio de Jainero. Matta began to play the double bass instrument. Although, it was huge in size, the timbre was dull. Following this, the rest of the musicians played along, creating beautiful harmonies, and Brazilian rhythms. The Role Of Climate Change In Canada Climate change has become the most serious global environmental threat with sides of people who do not believe it exists and people who are actually aware. Scientists explain that these emissions must drastically reduce to avoid a 2В°C rise in average global temperature. Therefore different countries have made policies and ways to reduce the production of these gases and Canada is one of them. When it comes to controlling the emission that comes from electricity generation; most provinces in Canada are already opting out of the coal phase to provide cleaner energy. The burning of firewood to create energy releases CO2 into the atmosphere thereby introducing more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.therefore introducing approaches to electricity such as increasing the amount of electricity generated from renewable sources; connecting clean power with places that need it and modernising electrical system could bring Canada to its goal by at least 5% to 15%. New rules that help to control emissions from an electrical sector that is burning natural gases should also be implemented. the government Could also control greenhouse gas emission by mandating the carbon pricing policy. Carbon pricing charges industries and corporations that emit CO2 for their emissions. This limits their emissions by instituting a price charge and encourage companies and consumers from burning fossil fuel and find alternative ways that are efficient for their business. Carbon pricing has been known to be the best tool in reducing greenhouse gas emissions since most of the gases released into the atmosphere are carbon. Carbon pricing helps to fight climate change and it provides job opportunity in creating clean energy. the growing population is also a discussable topic in climate change that could be really hard to control due to the fact that as the population increases; the demand for products that release this toxic gases would also increase. It gives you a mental representation of what the building would look like. Upon seeing this building, it was obvious a catastrophe was immanent. The lighting also represented where they were. For instance the actors were on a train and the windows of another train passed. This made you jump and started a continuous pattern of many frights to come. Sometimes the lack of lighting built up the atmosphere. At one time the stage was dark until the actor lit a match which illuminated his face. The effect of this was astonishing, such a simple thing as a match built up the scene immediately. The match was very effective because it was less bright than a spotlight and would not show off the surroundings. A torch was also used in the same way as the match but was just as effective as it showed a specific area. After seeing this used I realised how effective low light can be to create suspense and confusion. Sometimes the light came as a relief for the audience. Bonaventure indicates that the world exists by virtue of the free creative power of divine love. Creation is a free act of divine goodness spilling forth from the infinite divine community of love. Bonaventure uses the term emanation to describe the expression of creation from the loving community of a triune God. Emanation used in the Christian sense means that creation flows out of the infinite, transcendent one. Bonaventure metaphorically writes, Creation is like a river, which flows from a spring, spreads throughout the land to purify and fructify it, and eventually flows back to its point of origin. Some have argued that, because of the text s inconsistencies and incompatibilities of thought, there is much in the Analects that is non Confucian and should be discarded as a basis for understanding the thought of Confucius. Benjamin Schwartz cautions us against such radical measures. While textual criticism based on rigorous philological and historic analysis is crucial, and while the later sections [of the Analects] do contain late materials, the type of textual criticism that is based on considerations of alleged logical inconsistencies and incompatibilities of thought must be viewed with great suspicion. . . . While none of us comes to such an enterprise without deep laid assumptions about necessary logical relations and compatibilities, we should at least hold before ourselves the constant injunction to mistrust all our unexamined preconceptions on these matters when dealing with comparative thought. (The World of Thought in Ancient China, p. 61) Confucius philosophy was predominately a moral and political one. It was founded on the belief that heaven and earth coexist in harmony and balanced strength while maintaining a perpetual dynamism. Human beings, he taught, are sustained by these conditions and must strive to emulate the cosmic model. The Doctrine of the Mean is the elaboration of the way of

The Ecstasy Of Saint Teresa Analysis Rooted within John Berger s observations on the consumption of visual culture, in his 1972 book, Ways of Seeing, is the statement that The relation between what we see and what we know is never settled . Within the texts first chapter, Berger endeavours to illustrate the unique nature of perception along with its vulnerability to influence. The author further comments on the loss of independent thinking regarding artwork, instead being replaced by a state of false mystification . Bernini depicts the spiritual awakening of the Saint as she has a vision of an angel, who plunges a spear into her heart. The sculpture attempts replicate the sensation with the detailed facial expression of the Saint her eyes closed and mouth open which displays a moment of spiritual pain and pleasure as she is consumed by her love for God. The angle appears to wear a light cloth that wraps around his figure, whilst the mortal Saint wears a heavy cloth, denoting a sense of stability associated with earth. The tangible quality of the cloth further enhances the realism of her transcended state. The sculptures theatrical element is foregrounded by the placement of a small hidden window which shines daylight onto the dramatic event, illuminating the bronze shafts representing the golden rays of heaven above. Placed on the surrounding walls are theatre boxes which seat the patrons who witness the climatic event. Bernini s work contributed to the Counter Reformation propaganda, as it provided pictorial evidence of the divine power of Christ to encourage faith amongst people of all social standing. The composition of the chapel ensures that it s visitors experience the art which defies mundanity and thus inspires awe and faith. In the promotion of intended context, Berger asserts that reproduction of an artwork creates multiple meanings which defer with each spectator and their respective contexts. Describe The Characteristics Of Baroque Music Baroque music generally has certain elements in common across the board, including but not limited to: basso continuo, ornamentation, decisive rhythms, melodiousness, and use of several textures. Of course, different countries in Western Europe had different styles and sub genres within this. Theorists and composers, such as Jean Philippe Rameau with his treatise on harmony, began defining characteristics of harmony by studying works of his contemporaries. Although the Baroque musicas a whole sounds similar, it is important to keep in mind that it was not one unified style, but rather it was separated and understood differently depending on region. Certain style techniques can be attributed to different regions. For instance, while Italy was known to have melodies that sounded similar to singing, France was focused on bringing shape to their melodies. In contrast, German composers of this same time actually did not limit themselves to particular National style choices, but rather looked to and studied that of composers in other countries. Telemann was a German composer who exemplified this German style through his works. Not only was he important for the sake of combining and utilizing different techniques and creating unique pieces to that of his contemporaries, but he also was the most prolific composer of his time. This Trumpet Concerto displays a blend of these cosmopolitan styles. Telemann borrowed the French idea of shaping melodies. In the third movement, the

We do not know how many there were or which digit(s) were effected and the parity check does locate them for correction. Once the errors are located an error correcting code can begin. An ECC is an algorithm for expressing a sequence of numbers such that any errors which are introduced can be detected and corrected (within certain limitations) based on remaining numbers. (Weisstein, 2014) The study of error correcting codes and the associated mathematics is known as coding theory. Detecting the errors within codes is much easier than actually fixing the errors. The major difference between a parity check is that with error correction, errors are detected and corrected right then, not just detected. Error correction may generally be realized in two different ways: Automatic repeat request (ARQ). This is an error control technique whereby an error detection scheme is combined with requests for retransmission of erroneous data. Every block of data received is checked using the error detection code used, and if the check fails, retransmission of the data is requested this may be done repeatedly, until the data can be verified. The other is forward error correction (FEC). Here the sender encodes the data using an

The Sioux and Iroquois tribes were enemies of the Ojibway Indians. The Ottawa and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The axes were made from ground igneous, which are rocks crystallized by molten magma. Most arrowheads and knives were made of flaked flint. Medicine shields were sacred because it reflected the power of the warrior and was meant to give him spiritual protection. The war shield was made out of hide from the neck of a buffalo, which was smoked with glue made from bison hoofs. The war clubs were wooden and had knife blades protruding out of them. Art and Clothing Ojibway Indian men usually wore breechcloths and leggings. The women wore dresses and kept their hair in neat braids. Their shoes were called moccasins. They were made out of deer or moose hide. Customarily, they wore leather headbands with feathers in the back. The Ojibway Indians made pictures, belts, purses, and other objects out of beads. They loved to use wampum beads in their artwork. Wampum beads are purple and white beads made from shells. The Ojibway Indians make beadart by sewing the beads onto leather so they can be placed individually or sewn into strips. They make the strips by stitching the beads into a string. This is usually done by hand or sometimes with a bowloom. Beadart takes years to master and is very time consuming for the Ojibway Indians. The Ojibway also made dream catchers out of sticks and feathers. They believed that the dream catchers would protect them from bad dreams. Housing and Food The Plains Ojibway mainly hunted the

According to the National Cancer Institute (NCI) triple negative breast cancer is subtype of breast cancer that lack estrogen receptors, progesterone receptors or large amounts of HER2/neu proteins. It s commonly known as ER negative, PR negative and HER2/neu negative breast cancer (1). Due to the aforementioned characteristic of triple negative breast cancerit is insensitive to most of the effective therapies available for breast cancer treatment including HER2 directed therapy such as trastuzumab (2). Chemotherapy is the only systemic treatment for Triple Negative Breast Cancer. Even though standard chemotherapy regimens can be effective for patients in the early stages of triple negative breast cancer, but patients with... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Second generation Antibody drug conjugate consider as a new approach for treatments of TNBC. The main idea is to use an antibody and cytotoxic agents together to produce a synergistic effect and to ensure delivery of the cytotoxic agent to the target cell (6) Our main goal in this research is to develop a novel antibody based therapy against LRP8. We hypothesis that an anti LRP8 antibody conjugated to cytotoxic drug will lead toward effective therapy for TNBC. We will perform experiments using flow cytometry and confocal microscopy to prove that LRP8 is suitable ADC target. Two main factors will contribute to whether it is suitable target: i.100,000 LPR8 receptors should be expressed on the surface of 18 20 cells line. Our hypothesis is that will be more than 100,000 LPR8 receptors on the surface of breast cancer cell line. ii. Internalization of antibody bound to LRP8 We hypothesis that the antibody bind to the LRP8 have the ability to internalize and eventually causes cell death or apoptosis. Background and Preliminary Results: In February 2013, an anti HER2 antibody trastuzumab was approved by the FDA following the positive outcome of the Phase III EMILIA trial. In this trial, Patients with HER2 (also known as ERBB2) positive metastatic breast cancer had an improved median overall survival benefit compared to the combination of lapatinib and capecitabine (6). This drug represents an
