Time: 4-6 minutes
Speaker Notes: None, but you may
create a poster or other type of
visual aid as a guide.
Outline: Follow the same format as
the one previously assigned.

Identify essential steps in a topic to
be demonstrated.
Organize a speech in a chronological
order.
Explain a process to others in a clear
manner.
Prepare and use visual aids.
Identify the best means possible of
fitting available material into a
limited time frame.

To inform others how to replicate a
task or experience.
Topics to Consider
How to program an electronical
device.
How to take good photographs.
How to play a simple song on the
flute.
How to organize a party.
How to play soccer.
How to give CPR.
Consider the task
Complexity: Can I realistically teach
this in just a few minutes?
Are there three specific things that I
may address or is it entirely a step-
by-step process.
– Ex. Weightlifting (Three lifts?)
Can I realistically demonstrate this in
a classroom stetting.
Evaluation
You need to be able to set up
quickly.
You need to structure the speech in a
logical order.
You need to give the speech with
authority.
You need to do a good enough job
explaining so your audience could go
