Transforming finance: Plan globally, compete locallyAnaplan
Within large global companies, local regions usually have their preferred financial planning tools, drivers, and methods. However, those local regional tools and variations often make it both difficult and cost-prohibitive for the business to connect globally, which can lead to months-long consolidation cycles and a lack of visibility for senior executives who need that information to make decisions quickly.
In this webinar, David Naccarato, Senior Director of Finance with a top 15 global pharmaceuticals company, will share how his company has connected finance processes across Europe, the U.S., and Japan, transforming the company’s ability to think and plan globally—even as they compete locally. Additionally, Josh King, Practice Partner at Twelve Consulting, will share his insights into what it takes to connect plans across the business.

-Decreased time to plan, create, and share purchase orders with vendors from five weeks down to a few days
-Increased concentration on business-defined exceptions
-Transparency and time savings for their planners

Time is of the Essence: Creating a New Synergy Between Single-Use Adopters an...Merck Life Sciences
Biopharmaceutical companies race to achieve milestones, advance promising molecules, improve productivity and reduce costs. In addition to perfecting the biology, companies must grapple with challenges such as standardization of process technology, supply security and process economics, especially in light of the burgeoning interest and adoption of single-use systems. Efficient implementation of single-use systems is more than incorporating disposable components into the process. It requires a new approach by suppliers of these systems to nimbly and effectively address such challenges.
This session will highlight best practices for creating a new synergy between biopharmaceutical companies and single-use suppliers to strike the right balance of design flexibility, supply predictability and reliable lead times necessary to beat the clock. A case study describing a more efficient and practical “bottoms-up” approach to configuring and delivering single-use assemblies will be presented.
In this webinar, you will learn:
- How to choose single-use assemblies that are best suited for your process
- Risk reduction strategies that incorporate stock or specialized single-use assemblies vs. custom solutions
- Best practices to strike the right balance of design flexibility and supply predictability

The term "gamification" was coined in 2002 by Nick Pelling, a British-born computer programmer and inventor. As defined by Gartner “Gamification is the use of game design and game mechanics to engage a target audience to change behaviors, learn new skills or engage in innovation.” The target audience may be customers, employees or the general public, but first and foremost, they are people with needs and desires who will respond to stimuli.
This whitepaper highlights the application of gamification in various organizational areas.
With all the buzz going around about Big Data and Analytics, you might think Analytics is just an escoteric buzzword used only by CXOs to improve their revenues or manage their costs. THINK AGAIN!
Analytics is much more that. Imagine a day, any day. 24 hours. What do you think can Analytics accomplish in 24 hours? The world of B2B marketing has changed dramatically with the advent of internet and the increased connectivity in today's world. Traditional marketing methods are getting increasingly ineffective as buyers become more informed and highly aware of the products or solutions they need.
Today there is a lot of buzz around customer experience. Many companies have realized that investments in customer experience improvement is important not just because it helps to boost the bottom lines of their businesses but because it takes at least 4 to 6 times more cost to acquire a new customer than to retain an existing customer.
As Europe's leading economic powerhouse and the fourth-largest hashtag#economy globally, Germany stands at the forefront of innovation and industrial might. Renowned for its precision engineering and high-tech sectors, Germany's economic structure is heavily supported by a robust service industry, accounting for approximately 68% of its GDP. This economic clout and strategic geopolitical stance position Germany as a focal point in the global cyber threat landscape.
In the face of escalating global tensions, particularly those emanating from geopolitical disputes with nations like hashtag#Russia and hashtag#China, hashtag#Germany has witnessed a significant uptick in targeted cyber operations. Our analysis indicates a marked increase in hashtag#cyberattack sophistication aimed at critical infrastructure and key industrial sectors. These attacks range from ransomware campaigns to hashtag#AdvancedPersistentThreats (hashtag#APTs), threatening national security and business integrity.
🔑 Key findings include:
🔍 Increased frequency and complexity of cyber threats.
🔍 Escalation of state-sponsored and criminally motivated cyber operations.
🔍 Active dark web exchanges of malicious tools and tactics.
Our comprehensive report delves into these challenges, using a blend of open-source and proprietary data collection techniques. By monitoring activity on critical networks and analyzing attack patterns, our team provides a detailed overview of the threats facing German entities.
This report aims to equip stakeholders across public and private sectors with the knowledge to enhance their defensive strategies, reduce exposure to cyber risks, and reinforce Germany's resilience against cyber threats.
Techniques to optimize the pagerank algorithm usually fall in two categories. One is to try reducing the work per iteration, and the other is to try reducing the number of iterations. These goals are often at odds with one another. Skipping computation on vertices which have already converged has the potential to save iteration time. Skipping in-identical vertices, with the same in-links, helps reduce duplicate computations and thus could help reduce iteration time. Road networks often have chains which can be short-circuited before pagerank computation to improve performance. Final ranks of chain nodes can be easily calculated. This could reduce both the iteration time, and the number of iterations. If a graph has no dangling nodes, pagerank of each strongly connected component can be computed in topological order. This could help reduce the iteration time, no. of iterations, and also enable multi-iteration concurrency in pagerank computation. The combination of all of the above methods is the STICD algorithm. [sticd] For dynamic graphs, unchanged components whose ranks are unaffected can be skipped altogether.

their parameters – Scale, Shape and
Slope - ~255 clusters were created
• A 3 or 4 month old NPI was associated
with any one of the clusters based on a
probability score and a 24 month
lifecycle forecast was generated
• A rigorously tested code was developed
and validated repeatedly on historical
Bookings prediction accuracy for
NPIs
• The final SAS code would fetch data
from Engineering and historical
Bookings, Identify NPIs and its closest
Cluster and generate 24-month
forecasts – Every planning cycle

Data Management Algorithmic Play Operationalization
a. ~40,000 SKUs; ~2000 NPI SKUs and a 10% monthly product churn due to
short product lifecycles and highly competitive landscape
b. NPIs are difficult to forecast statistically since no history is available
a. To understand patterns in New Product Introductions and their lifecycles
b. To use this understanding for better insights into planning demand for NPIs
